IMPACT SHOW ✓ Claim Podcast Notes Key Takeaways Humanity doesn't look at the benefits of fossil fuel consumption, it prefers to catastrophize the side effects of fossil fuel consumption The goal should be to advance human flourishing, not eliminate human impact “Energy is crucial. Fossil fuels are the only way of providing energy to billions of people for the foreseeable future, and billions more people need vastly more energy.” – Alex Epstein Following the directional arrows of progress, the energy of the 21st century was supposed to be nuclear power, which is, even more, energy intense, and less impactful on the environment than any other form of energy available to humans Environmentalists are reluctant to support abundant, clean, and cheap sources of energy because they're afraid of how humans will use the energy to change the world The core aversion to dense forms of energy from environmentalists is not that the process of producing it is dirty, but that the use of energy impacts the world“Whenever you hear ESG, you should just think CCP.” – Peter Thiel Environmentalists' philosophical bias reveals itself when they refuse to acknowledge the objective positives that result from fossil fuel usage Political correctness, group-think, and the pressures to create consensus are the biggest political problems in our society today, according to Peter Thiel Science with a capital “S” is not science; the science that is referenced in the signs that say, “This house believes in Science”, is most certainly not science Science at its best is designed to fight a two-front war against excessive dogmatism and excessive skepticism People are no longer allowed to have heterodox beliefs that counter the scientific consensus Read the full notes @ podcastnotes.org(for EPISODES 39 - 41, visit the IMA YouTube channel)Author of Fossil Future, Alex Epstein, shares his expertise and philosophical perspective on climate, energy and fossil fuels. We'll talk about that and so much more!At 22:23 hear Lauren talk about what she wishes she'd known earlier"I wish I had known earlier that , there wasn't a single prescribed career path. I would say, I sent a few years trying to mold my own career moves and plan around the backgrounds of others. And that's not a bad approach at the beginning, but it has it's pitfalls... If you're looking at someone who's already made it to maybe, a place more senior and more advanced than you, their information is ten, to fifteen, to twenty years old - in terms of how they got there. So, you're modeling yourself after an older model, and presuming that what you're destined to do is entirely similar to what they're destined to do, and that what the world needs in the future , is what it needed in the past." In today's episode, we discuss whether there is more caffeine in tea vs coffee. Just kidding, that is discussed during the tail end. Actually, we really deep dive into this past week's episode with the awesome guest that we had this week, Dominick Sirianni, VP of Primavera Online High School and the Internet Marketing Association. He represents what Build Your Utopia is all about! Focusing on your passion and working towards achieving your Utopia aka your professional goals. However, when it comes to work-life balance, to Dominick, work is fun. If you hear some of our other successful guest throughout our show, they all share this trait. They all find passion in their work so it is fun, not a chore. If you are floundering in a career that you are not truly happy in, do something about it. Life is too short not to. Work should not be a chore. Being an entrepreneur is tough but if you can seize it, commit to it, work hard at it, and enjoy the journey, it can be very rewarding. In the show, we also discuss how today's culture stresses that everyone has to take the same path that includes graduating high school, graduating from college, and getting a job. There are very little, true, entrepreneurial families that encourage their children to work in your passion and create! It is not that there is anything wrong with completing your education, in today's world it's almost crucial because of the requirements of a college education in a high percentage of careers out there. We also discuss the value of having a high emotional quotient. Dominick's story in the last episode really inspired us to talk further about the value of developing a strong EQ. Finally, we wrap up the show talking about the greatest debate ever that we need your vote on to settle. Ben believes that tea has less caffeine than coffee. Josh believes that coffee and tea have the same caffeine content. Vote in the comments at Build Your Utopia! Ben and Josh have a bet that depends on your vote. Thanks for listening to Build Your Utopia! Come back next week with an energetic, value-packed episode with Jenny Olding, entrepreneur and author! As always, a special thank you to The Strand for our intro and outro music!
Dominick is the great example of an individual who is high-achieving and working towards building a Utopia by working in both a corporate environment and by working at a startup, Internet Marketing Association. He is also a proud husband, father, and a MBA graduate from the University of Phoenix. Formerly he had worked for Chet Holmes and Tony Robbins. For the Internet Marketing Association, he also leads a podcast that you will want to check out if you want to learn more about internet marketing. You can click here to go and check it out. Altogether, he has an incredible resume and background. As a Utopian, the guy is busy! This is why… “If the stool ever gets completely stable, you go insane” is a phrase that Dominick lives by. By having many professional outlets working out, he is living by this phrase. In this show, you will learn from Dominick about how to treat a business partnership, from his past experience that didn’t work out. If you are in entrepreneurship or interested in it, there are some great takeaways from this part of the podcast. Rare to most, Dominick considers his Utopia consisting of less balance and more work. Following Ghandi and other high-achievers, he believes in throwing himself into work. He is well aware that he is 100% not balanced. And that is totally, 110% ok! It's ok to pour yourself into a goal, pursue it, and work. Entrepreneurship, like relationships, is a consistent mental challenge. To Dominick's point, you have to have self-awareness on whether or not outside forces are causing you stress or are you doing it to yourself. In entrepreneurship, you have to take responsibility for the factors in your circle of influence that are impacting your happiness. This rule applies to relationships as well. It comes down to you handle your emotions internally or, in other words, what is your Emotional Quotient? On a final note, the show had a great takeaway for high achievers. Go through the exercise on a consistent basis of what's most important from #1-#3 so you can hone in on what you should be focused on to prevent the feelings of overwhelm, which leads to stress. Great show with Dominick Sirianni! Listen to it and please leave your comments below. Utopian Quote of the Show "I don't look at the time that I'm losing as something that is getting sucked out of me" - Dominick Sirianni As always, a special thank you to The Strand for our intro and outro music!

Social media is truly today's wave of marketing and it doesn't have to require a multi-million dollar marketing budget to really create a name for yourself. Jason Hartman talks with Sinan Kanatsiz, Chairman and CEO of KComm and Chairman and Founder of The Internet Marketing Association. Sinan shares his expertise in making social media marketing a success without going broke. Building a brand for yourself starts with understanding Google Analytics and social media, and creating a robust website with strong content. Sinan also recommends a content management system and a strong e-newsletter to create a strong social media presence. E-newsletters and e-zines are quickly replacing paper newsletters and magazines. In today's marketing world, a good newsletter is paramount to your brand. It should be personalized and contain educational material promoting the industry you work in, without a big sales pitch for your own business. Consumers respond to stimulation, so the newsletters should be well illustrated and laid out, and with all of the new gadgets available today for reading, such as e-Readers and smart phones, it should also be created with portability in mind. Sinan also shares with listeners how to market their brand through other brands without using pay-per-click. He discusses the basics of loosely defined partnerships, advises giving away for free some of what you do in your business, and using organic search engines for SEO. Sinan Kanatsiz is the Chairman and CEO of KComm, a marketing communications firm specializing in Public Relations, Public Affairs, Internet Marketing, Events and Strategic Relationships, founded in a sewing room in Sinan's parents' house in 1995. It has grown to be a large business, with a client roster that encompasses large and small, local and global clients. Sinan is also the Chairman and Founder of The Internet Marketing Association (IMA), a professional organization that currently boasts over 515,000 members in various fields, including sales, marketing, business ownership, programming and creative development. Sinan started IMA with four key values as a foundation for success in today's highly competitive business environment: integrity, communication, professionalism and education.
