In this interview, Mitchell speaks with Achi Tsepal, the founder of the Children of Tibet Trust Foundation who has a highly unique background. Achi was born in Kham, Tibet and received his name from the Drikung Thil Monastery in Central Tibet. Lord Jigten Sumgon founded the Drikung Thil Monastery, which is being rebuilt since its destruction during the Cultural Revolution in China. In 1959 Achi's parents escaped into India after a three and half month's difficult journey over the Himalayas. There were four Monastic groups (labrangs) and about 50 families from the Drikung Valley who followed HH the 14th Dalai Lama into India, but only Achi's family made it. In 1961, he was fortunate to be one of the four boys selected among hundreds of Tibetan Refugee kids in Mussoorie, North India to attend Wynberg Allen High school to receive a great education. 1970 While attending Christ College, Bangalore, India Achi worked with American Missionaries to start two hostels in Bangalore for children from the Tibetan Refugee communities in South India. Hundreds of Tibetan children graduated from several private schools in Bangalore to become leaders in the Tibetan communities today. 1974 after graduating with BA from Bangalore University, Achi was chosen by HH the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, the head of the Karma Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism, to accompany him during HH's first and second World Dharma Peace Tour as Private Secretary and English Interpreter…. and served in this capacity for seven years at Rumtek Monastery, Sikkim, India. 1981 Achi and his family moved to Washington DC to start a new life and during his spare time he worked hard co-founded the Tibetan Meditation Center (1982) and the Drikung Dharma Surya Buddhist Center (2011) belonging to the Drikung Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Over the years, these two Drikung Kagyu Centers have hosted many great Teachers including HH the Dalai Lama, HH Gyalwa Drikungpa Chestang and the great Yogi Master HE Kyabje Garchen. He believes that the spread of Buddha Dharma around the world will help the world community to attain peace. In 2008, Achi was the 2008 Machik Award for Engagement Winner for his work through the Children of Tibet Trust Foundation. This organization is currently sponsoring students in the secondary and tertiary education and hopes that the education of these children in the Tibetan Plateau and in the Himalayan regions will enable them to preserve their Tibetan heritage and well being. As a Tibetan, Achi has a deep appreciation of his unique and rich cultural heritage and at the same time realizes the daunting challenges the Tibetans face in their struggle to survive as a race with its unique cultural heritage under the Chinese Han rulers in Tibet and with the assimilation problem of the Tibetan identity in Tibet and the free world. The core mission of CTTF is to help the Tibetan children on the Tibetan plateau and the Himalayan regions to obtain the best secular education so that they can promote, preserve and persist in their work to keep pace with rapid modernization. This rare and unique interview with a man who has lived through the tumultuous history of the Chinese invasion of Tibet and the Tibetan flight across the Himalayas to India, then to find himself working with the highest teachers in Tibetan Buddhism while in India and America, makes for an extraordinary life and a historically with interview for A Better World Podcasts. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/abwmitchellrabin/support

Hello, Sudha Murthy is an Indian engineering teacher and Kannada and English author as well as a Social worker. She is also the Chairperson of the Infosys Foundation. She is the wife of co-founder of Infosys, N. R. Narayana Murthy. Sudha Murthy began her professional career in computer science and engineering. "What you should worry about is what you like to do, as long as what you like to do is morally and ethically right,” she said. As Chairperson of the Infosys Foundation, where Sudha Murty works with people from different walks of life, she believes she has found her purpose in life in serving people. At Infosys Foundation, the non-profit arm of the IT company, Sudha Murty has dedicated her life to serving the underprivileged by empowering them through education, poverty alleviation, healthcare, public hygiene, education, and art and culture. “Serving people has bought me a tremendous amount of calmness. Nothing else matters to me now,” says Sudha Murty, who credits her daughter for waking her up from her slumber, and forcing her to reflect on the purpose of her life over two decades ago. At the time, Sudha Murty was the Head of Department of Computer Science at Bangalore University. “My daughter asked me: ‘A person like you who is well-read and well-traveled, what do you expect in life? Do you want to be glamorous? Do you want to spend your time in technology? Or do you want to spend your time with your large family? What do you want to do in life?” This made Sudha Murty, who was around 45 years old at the time, question her purpose in life. She found herself asking herself at the time, “What is there to do with my life? I thought I could enjoy the fruits of my labour, but what does ‘enjoy' mean? Was it to make money, win awards, have children, or get more doctorates?” Shortly thereafter, Sudha Murty resigned from her full-time position in the University, choosing to take up a consulting professor role instead, and became one of the first trustees of Infosys Foundation, which was established in 1996. Since then, Sudha Murty has led various initiatives by the Infosys Foundation to build hospitals, schools, orphanages, rehabilitation centres, as well as more than 14,000 toilets and over 60,000 libraries for the underprivileged sections of the society “It was hard, but I always thought I was on a mission. And this attitude (I had, where I believed) ‘let everyone say everything as long as I am morally and ethically right,' has helped me throughout.” The podcast story will make you feel what is important in life and helping people can lead in the place you want to go #SudhaMurty#Philanthropy#Wayoflife Please do share with your family and friends You Tube :https://bit.ly/ytriseofinspiration Facebook https://www.facebook.com/riseofinspiration Instagram https://www.instagram.com/riseofinspiration/ Listen now from Castbox too https://castbox.fm/vc/2998329 Listen on Spotify https://bit.ly/riseofinspiration Listen to Apple Podcast https://bit.ly/riseofinspirationwithsangeeta And many platform... Their platform utilizes deep learning that yields results with precision, which could potentially increase revenues by up to 400%. The IceCream Labs platform inputs multiple sources of product data. The data is processed using deep learning models that enrich and optimize the product content, and this process can be easily integrated into most solutions a business or company may already have in place. The commerce expert states that the biggest, and most important, challenge for many businesses is to have great quality product content for the entire product department. Consumers need to feel confident that their online searches for product information deliver thorough and accurate information about the product or products they are interested in purchasing. He explains how IceCream Labs' platform uses AI to enrich and organize product content, and to create relationships between the data via machine learning to deliver new experiences for consumers. Konety provides examples of how their platform considers literally thousands of data points to bring consumers a more immersive experience. He illustrates the process in detail by providing information on specific shopping experiences. For example, the platform's analyzation of the collected data in aggregate can bring product options to a consumer even when they are not exactly sure what they are looking for. If the consumer needs to purchase a chair or sofa, etc. but doesn't necessarily know if the style needed is bohemian, modern, or other, the platform can help guide the consumer to the appropriate purchase by presenting style boards that the consumer would consider to be acceptable. Konety explains that their platform works with any product line and by utilizing AI it can present suggestions to aid consumers in their purchasing, and can be modified for specific interests, needs, etc. Essentially, the platform can function as an intelligent salesperson that understands the interconnections between all the data points. As IceCream Labs moves forward, they hope to incorporate customer buying data, and of course with strict adherence to privacy laws. Konety discusses his team's work within the home, fashion, and food spaces, and how the importance of complete product data can enhance consumer experience and help to increase retailer profits. And results can be dramatic, with overall sales of a product sometimes leaping from 25% to as much as a whopping 200%. Konety discusses how their solutions empower the human connection as consumers have greater knowledge and extensive options at their disposal to enable them to make better, more informed decisions.

In this episode we are gonna talk about Mary. I doubt you are prepared for this conversation with Sharon Jacob unless you have read her recent stellar book Reading Mary Alongside Indian Surrogate Mothers: Violent Love, Oppressive Liberation, and Infancy Narratives. In this book and our conversation looks to read the character of Mary in the infancy narratives of Luke and Matthew alongside the lives of experiences of the Indian surrogate mother living a postcolonial India. Reading Mary through these lenses helps to see this mother and her actions in a more ambivalent light, as a mother whose love is both violent and altruistic. Dr. Sharon Jacob is a New Testament Professor at our podcast partner - Phillips Theological Seminary. She is also  a native of India, studied at Bangalore University, received a Master of Divinity from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 2003, and a Master of Sacred Theology from Yale Divinity School in 2005.
