CC446: Kail and Lindsie have some beef with holiday consumerism, where Christmas decorations appear before Thanksgiving, and the struggle of saying no to their children's wants versus needs. Kail has some thoughts on the outrage surrounding Kendall Jenner's comments about Caitlyn Jenner, dissecting why people care so deeply about issues that don't affect their day-to-day lives. Lindsie shares the difference in sleeping naked versus in pajamas, and Kail defends her use of her Apple Watch. Lastly, they discuss the difficulties of maintaining connections, and a shared frustration with "small talk" and the constant communication brought by modern technology. He leaves, hurt — but not before Emily says she really wishes they could've just taken that walk in the snow.Eleven months later, Emily is out for a jog. She's thought about leaving and starting over in another small town…but she just couldn't. She loves it in Fletcher's Grove.Cut to the diner: two teens are hanging out in a booth. One is Violet — Sam's daughter, who Emily no longer employs at The Mistletoe because of how things ended with Sam. The other is Kyle, and they are very clearly into each other. We also meet Tim Hinley, the chess coach. His team just lost, and he is a full-on grumpy elf.Later, Emily bumps into Sam. Awkward small talk. They go their separate ways. Then we see the football coach arrive home to find a note on his door. He reads it, looks panicked, grabs what appears to be a go-bag, jumps into his car, and speeds away.Speaking of go-bags — Emily has been much more cautious this year, constantly monitoring anything related to Chimera ever since they almost caught her last Christmas. She's never letting her guard down again.Violet asks Emily to teach her chess. Emily suggests she ask Coach Hinley. That's when Violet reveals: he's missing. After that day at the diner, he resigned and vanished. This sets off alarm bells. Emily goes to his house — something's off — so she takes the case to Sam. He says he'll look into it. After she leaves, we see he's still investigating who Emily really is.Emily goes to the school to drop off decorations for Violet and stumbles into the chess team competing. She meets Vice Principal Richard Leeland, who is now acting chess coach. Emily accidentally reveals she knows a lot about chess. Since he only stepped in to help his son on the team, he asks if she'll take over coaching. She says no.Emily continues to dig and hears rumors that Coach Hinley was romantically involved with a rival coach. Suspicious. She brings this to Sam, and it leads to a big argument.Emily finds the rival coach and asks about it. The coach denies everything — very aggressively — insisting she would never damage her reputation.Emily then stumbles upon Kyle fighting with the VP's son over chess drama — Janitor Ben Ayres steps in to break it up.Sam arrives and is like, Why are you everywhere?? He takes a call — Emily overhears — they found Tim's car at the airport… but his suitcase is still in the trunk. The next day, Emily returns to question the VP. On her way out, she chats with Janitor Ben — when a dog wanders in. It's Tim's dog.Who abandons their dog? They follow the dog into the basement, where it stops on a patch of new concrete.Emily calls Sam. Ground radar is brought in.There's a body.Sam later comes to Emily's house to update her, and sparks fly again — but he spots a piece of paper under her couch and quietly takes a picture of it.Meanwhile, Sam reviews security footage and sees Tim arguing with Kyle before Kyle punches the wall. That same day, Kyle asks Violet to the winter dance. She says yes… just as Sam walks in and arrests Kyle.Emily confronts Sam. He shows her a threatening note found on Tim's door. In order to help the investigation, Emily agrees to coach the chess team.Kyle returns after being released and insists he's innocent. Emily overhears the VP chewing out his son. She ends the day playing chess with Janitor Ben.It turns out the VP's son was selling stolen test papers, and Coach Hinley found out. Then the rival coach shows up to accept the full-time position — but Emily already took it. Emily sees Tim's lucky tie in her back seat, and Sam brings her in for questioning. Another big blow-up — but later they calm down and almost kiss. Again. Sam retreats… again. It's Winter Dance time!Violet grabs something from her locker and finds a note:“Stay away from Kyle. This is your only warning.”Emily, also at the dance, takes this chance to snoop in VP Leeland's office and finds practice sheets of Tim's signature.Meanwhile, Violet shows the note to the VP. He tells her to come with him.Emily is searching for Violet when she runs into Janitor Ben — who is distraught. He admits he wrote the warning note because he didn't want Kyle distracted from chess. Why does he care so much?Because — Kyle is his son.Kyle overhears and runs off in shock.Emily hears Violet scream and rushes to the VP's office. The VP's son just confessed everything — not realizing Violet was there. We learn the truth:Tim confronted the VP because he thought the VP killed his dog.The VP's son showed up, panicked, and shoved Tim.Tim fell — his head hit a coat hook, killing him instantly. The VP covered it up to protect his son.Sam arrives, hears the confession, and arrests him.Violet finds Kyle. They slow dance outside in the snow.Emily and Sam watch from a distance.Throughout the episode, we've seen flashbacks of Emily's past — how she joined a computer team and pitched a new game: Chimera. The final shot: Sam reviewing his notes, circling the word Chimera. Some hauntings chase you through the dark. Others crawl right into your room. First, we head to Edison, New Jersey — home to one of the state's most infamous legends: Jake's Branch Road, an abandoned Nike missile base turned ghost town. When a group of friends decided to explore its decaying homes and eerie playground, they found far more than graffiti and cold air. And when the doors began slamming shut—trapping five grown men inside—they realized something was alive in that place… something that didn't want them to leave. Another listener recounts a horrifying episode of sleep paralysis—one that took on a terrifyingly personal form. As she lay frozen in bed, the figure of someone she knew began crawling toward her, fingernails clicking, hair hiding her face. Unable to move or scream, she could only watch as the air thickened with dread and darkness. From the haunted backroads of New Jersey to the quiet horror of a bedroom at Christmas, this episode proves one truth: when the paranormal comes calling, it doesn't always knock—it sometimes crawls. #trueghoststory #realghoststoriesonline #hauntedhouse #paranormalactivity #ghostencounters #realhaunting #sleepparalysis #newjerseyhaunting #supernatural #satanicritual #hauntedroad Love real ghost stories? It's one of our favorite episodes of the year—sharing new Christian books worth reading and giving. In this 2025 edition, Dr. John Snyder highlights an updated commentary, a missionary biography, a devotional from Jeremy Walker, and more. Perfect for Christmas gifts or planning your 2026 reading list. Find links to every book below! Every year around this time, we take a look at recent Christian book releases and share our top recommendations for reading or giving. Whether you're building your 2026 reading plan or searching for thoughtful Christmas gifts, this list is a great place to start. You might even send this episode to someone who's shopping for you! But this conversation goes beyond book suggestions. John reminds us that our reading life, like our eating life, needs balance. We can read lazily or we can read wisely—stewarding our time and shaping our minds. Read widely, but let Scripture remain central. Read books that stretch both your heart and your understanding—balancing the objective truths of God's Word with the personal experiences of His people. This week, 7 Minute Stories transforms into a courtroom drama—well, sort of. In this courtroom-style story, Aaron Calafato takes on the role of defense attorney, arguing not against cynicism but for hope. As the prosecution condemns Hallmark movies as “brain rot,” Aaron makes a case for why these small-town stories, full of clichés and Christmas lights, might be exactly what our overstimulated culture needs. A clever, heartfelt reflection on repetition, ritual, and why the simplest stories can still teach us the most about being human.
Sissy Roxanne is back in the studio! With Emma off moving to Wales, she's stepping in to help Soph tackle this week's correspondence featuring more Christmas babies and some gorgeous Irish names. This week is presented by "Dial It Back", available now on Prime Video. --Brian is back for another Hallmark Christmas movie. Today, we dive into a family-sized holiday adventure with A Keller Christmas Vacation. ABOUT A KELLER CHRISTMAS VACATIONThree reluctant adult siblings join their parents on a Christmas river cruise through Europe. What was meant to be a scenic holiday turns into a journey of reconnection, self-discovery, and unexpected joy when the family learns that the trip had deeper reasons than just sightseeing.AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR A KELLER CHRISTMAS VACATIONNovember 9 2025 | Hallmark ChannelCAST & CREW OF A KELLER CHRISTMAS VACATIONJonathan Bennett as DylanBrandon Routh as CalEden Sher as EmoryDirected by Maclain NelsonBRAN'S A KELLER CHRISTMAS VACATION SYNOPSISThe movie kicks off with photos of the Keller family. They're all about to take a Christmas cruise aboard the Dunebae. We've got:Cal, the oldest son — recently divorced and trying to invite a new love interest on the trip… but she's already with someone else. Womp womp.Dylan, the middle son, who is deeply in love with his boyfriend William — who is joining the cruise. Right before they leave, Dylan proposes. William freezes, says it's not the right time. Dylan says, “Okay, well… clearly something's going on. So maybe we need some space. Like… Atlantic Ocean–sized space.” Not a breakup — just space.Emory, the youngest — aspiring photographer, newly jobless, single, and hoping someone out there will make her feel seen. The family arrives on December 19th, ready to check in.At check-in, a very charming crew member named Noah helps Emory to her room. Sparks. Are. Spark-ing.Cal discovers his room neighbors are a sweet grandfather and his granddaughter Felicity. Grandpa is very interested in pairing them up. Felicity is not amused. The family competes in a gingerbread house contest — and it's a full disaster. But onward! They head to their first Christmas market, needing to get back by 7 PM. Everyone can tell something is up with Dylan. They have such a great time that… they miss the boat. Literally. Now stranded, they end up staying at a tiny off–the–grid German hotel owned by a very intense German woman. Emory suspects their parents planned this trip for reasons. The siblings open up to each other a bit.The next morning, they pile onto a three-person motorcycle (it is exactly as chaotic as it sounds) to chase the boat, which is now leaving earlier than planned. They make it just in time — and William is waiting on the dock.Back on board, Dylan asks William again if he's ready to talk. William still can't. Dylan decides to bunk with Emory for now.Meanwhile, Cal heads to the hot chocolate bar… and of course Felicity is there.Noah asks Emory if she'd be willing to take photos for the ship's marketing. She's thrilled. They shake on it — and that handshake definitely lingers.Dylan eventually tells his siblings what's going on. He's afraid William doesn't love him anymore. They remind him: William flew halfway around the world to be here. Emory shares that she was laid off by email. Everyone finally gets vulnerable.Next port!Dylan and William take a walking tour and have some very sweet, flirty moments. William says, “If I could tell you what's going on, I would. I promise.”Emory takes photos of her parents for Noah's campaign. They encourage her to follow her heart — wherever that leads.Cal and Felicity wander their market stop together and the chemistry is real. Then comes the ship-wide White Elephant party. Fun — until Dad nearly falls. Time for The Family Talk.Dad shares that he has Parkinson's Disease, stage 1 — early and mild, but life will change. They'll need to sell the house. And they reveal that William already knew because he's a neurosurgeon who has treated Parkinson's patients.Dylan goes to William — and they finally talk honestly. It's tender and healing.Cal opens up to Felicity. Emory finds Noah and just gives him the biggest, longest hug.Next stop. Another market.Emory updates Noah: she's moving back to Portland to be close to her dad, and she'd love for Noah to visit — maybe go on a date. He says, “Why wait? Let's go tonight.”Dylan tells the family his big idea: his company will repurpose their old property into a supportive community for people with Parkinson's.Dylan and William go on a Ferris wheel. They both propose. They both say yes. It's perfect. The movie ends with the whole family ice skating together — the siblings steadying their dad on the ice — all of them together, exactly where they need to be.
How often do we take our own blessings for granted? And how much more often do we neglect to steward what we've been given to make a life-changing and Gospel impact for those in need? It's New Mexico State week for the Tennessee football program, so GoVols247 decided to have a mailbag podcast -- and this one was an occasion. For the first time in, well, a long time, all three of us (Patrick Brown, Ben McKee and Ryan Callahan) came together for an episode, and we wanted to answer questions from our loyal GoVols247 subscribers hitting on all three Tennessee sports: Football -- How do we think Tennessee closes out the regular season? What staff changes should Josh Heupel make and what positions should the Vols prioritize in the transfer portal? What players need to make a leap in 2026? How will this season be remembered if Tennessee wins out? Where will Tennessee's 2026 recruiting class finish in the rankings? Hoops -- What will Rick Barnes do with the starting five? Baseball -- How will Josh Elander's first season in charge of the Vols look like and what will the pitching rotation be? We got some holiday questions as well and shared our favorite things and our rules for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Enjoy! Together, Trent and Mitch dive into:

There's a shocking piece of journalism at the Daily Caller website as we have learned the Chinese own a 27 acre trailer park that shares a fence with Whiteman Air Force base in Missouri. Are you kidding me? This is a huge story and even bigger problem. Kansas Senator Roger Marshall says he and the GOP will have a new health care plan by Christmas. Spoiler alert, it also sounds like a big government handout. Speaking of handouts, a journalist in Ukraine has found stacks and stacks of unsealed, stolen cash from the Kansas City Federal Reserve. Zelensky is literally stealing from us, we explain how. Elon Musk sums up the sad state of affairs of taxation in America in one brilliant post. Pat McAfee gets President Trump on his show and then tries to apologize to liberal media for it. Lame. Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe didn't take long to respond to our report that the Chiefs are talking to NASCAR and the state of Kansas regarding land acquisition at the speedway. Kehoe says he can put a fabric roof on cables above Arrowhead and the Chiefs have no comment. KU star Darryn Peterson has officially turned the Jayhawks into an NBA team. He makes millions, he takes games off when he doesn't want to play and they are coming to T-Mobile Center in KC. We finally have an NBA team! And our Final Final is a pair of sexy bridesmaids.

Text us here! Hersh, today was an exciting day on Pod'N Me. Amongst (big word for among) the various things that happened on this trash pile was the historic moment that Gen Z Boy, Broooks, took a big dubya (sophisticated way of saying win) on the ever popular "Name That Tune" segment of the show. I can't even begin to describe the mounting tension in the room that ended the show. The gatherer of the songs was doing his best to play to all music tastes on the program (and you know what a challenge that can be) when all of the sudden.... well, you'll have to listen. Before that all happened though, we had a regular fun time. There were some health updates and some Christmas decor hot takes. Just give it a listen and see what you think.
