Today we are talking about ten things your upline tells you that are wrong! Please for the love of God - that is our theme of the day, don't do these ten things. What is the craziest advice you've been given? I want to hear yours, message me, let's get in touch!  In today's episode we talk about: Ten things Your Upline Tells you that are WRONG: Go for the no!  Anyone and everyone is your ideal customer/teammate. Have a CTA (Call to Action) on everything you do. Send out 100 mailers in hopes that 10 say yes. Reach out to all of your Facebook Friends. Parties are the only way to grow your business and rank up. Post 5-8 times a day in our Facebook VIP group. Don't invest in training outside of the company. Friend request your friend's friends on Facebook. Send 15 cold messages a day. Your CTA should NOT be business related. It's so important to make sure your CTA isn't business related.  This helps create engagement. If your upline is asking you to do spammy things - No, red flag! This is not how you grow a sustainable business - this is not how we change the network marketing business. Listen to your gut - there is a difference in being uncomfortable when listening to your gut and being uncomfortable because it's spammy. Do what feels right. It's not true that you have to beat the algorithms to grow your business - there are so many other ways. This is a relationship industry we are in. It's about relationships and serving. It's about  helping people who need help, not the ones not interested and that don't need your help. Focus on serving those who want your help. The more bad strategies we allow to continue the harder it will be to grow your team because it magnifies the negativity in this industry. This industry is incredible, there is so much potential for personal growth. Girl, I'm here to amplify the beautiful things.  Lets stop with the negative things Join me for the Business Glow up for Direct Sellers starting August 29.  Join the waitlist now for this 4 day workshop at  RachelAPerry.com/GlowUp.  I'll see you there! Mark starts off by sharing a bit about himself, what he does and who he helps, but this time, it's all relating to MSP website success  Kicking off this episode, I ask Mark why websites are so important in the sales process. Mark says that you are what you are online and unless you portray yourself in the right way, no one will know about you. If you portray yourself in the wrong way, people will get an impression of you that isn't necessarily true.  Mark and I then tackled the biggest mistake that MSPs are making on their websites, and he gave us two. The first one is the complete lack of personality, and the second one is the complete lack of understanding of key phrases. He then explains each and why it's important to correct these two mistakes.  We also talk about and weigh each other's opinions on the number one objective that an MSP needs to achieve from the website itself. Mark thinks that the objective is the website being there to start a conversation. I add that it's not just about the website but your collective online presence.  We continued on to talk about a little bit of marketing, pillar content, and vertical niche.  Mark and I then discuss Google My Business and we weigh in why it is important for the website. Mark says it is because of the immediate social proof you get when you search for an individual company, and it absolutely affects rankings. We also talk about desktop wallpapers as an underused asset for an MSP.  Wrapping up the episode, we both then tackled the good old CTA (Call to Action) and the things that MSPs can do to make sure they increase their conversions. According to Mark, it starts on the homepage, and its whole point should be to start a story. He then explains full circle why it's very relevant.  So, I hope you enjoyed this episode as much as Mark and I had fun creating it (You can tell!). This is truly an episode full of great advice, tips, tricks, and of course value bombs that will surely help you achieve website success in your MSP.    If you want to get in touch with Mark and/or get a hold of his Website Success 101 checklist, simply click here – https://mspsitehub.com/   At IT Experts, we have years of experience helping IT & MSP Business of all sizes to leverage their talents and take back control so they can scale confidently.  To connect with us and find out how we can possibly help, simply book an intro call straight into my diary here:- http://bit.ly/ite-introcall   If we're not connected already, let's connect on LinkedIn, YouTube and over here at our website, innovatetosuccess.com  Alternatively, you can drop me an email at info@innovatetosuccess.com   Until next time, you look after yourself and I'll catch up with you soon!

Understanding the audience is vital to ensuring your message gets the most impact. 4. Be a Storyteller. This isn't a job interview. Ensure you have relevant stories on tap. These could be light-hearted, love, serious, business, origin, and your why. 5. Provide Value. Many guests provide a PDF. In addition to providing value to the audience, you need to also provide value to the host. Make sure to rate and review the show. Also promote your interview on your social media and on your email list. 6. Nail your Message. Your message must be refined and practied, know your core message, at least 3 valid points, and your CTA (Call to Action). If you don't tell the audience what to do, how can you ensure they take the desired action? 7. No Filler All Killer. Filler words hurt. Ahs and Ums will distract from your message. You want your audience focused and hanging on your every word. 8. Prepare the Space. Examples of Advertorials to Grow your Email List with Rachel Mazza

Do you use advertorials in your business? Hang on. Do you even know what advertorials are? Because not many people do (or know what these types of pre-sale pages are called!) So let's hear it from Rachel Mazza, who gives us the ins and outs about advertorials and shares some awesome examples of advertorials you'll want to start using in your business straight away to grow your email list and boost your sales. Shall we get going? SOME EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS: (3:18) Did Rachel 'accidentally' move in with lots of other people? (And did Rob REALLY mess this up?) (5:22) What are advertorials and what are they used for? (7:36) How to use advertorials to warm up your audience. (9:29) How to use advertorials to reach a wider audience. (11:08) Advertorials and content networks. (12:23) What format do advertorials need to be in? (14:25) Do advertorials come across as clickbait-y? (20:29) How long do advertorials need to be? (21:10) How do advertorials impact on your ad spend? (27:53) Subject line of the week with Rachel Mazza. What are advertorials and what are they used for?Advertorials, also known as pre-sale or interstitial pages, are the pages that go between the initial touchpoint where you first interact with the customer and the place where you want them to convert. Conversion here could mean buying your offer or joining your email list - whatever you need it to be. And the role of the advertorial is to warm people up before you ask them to take action. So let's visualise this. A prospective customer may have come across one of your blog posts or a Facebook ad for the first time, for example. Of course, you'll want to send them to your sales pages or your offer. But at this point, you're faced with a cold and skeptical audience (they don't know you yet!) so you need to get them into the right mindset by providing them with value and information before you ask them for something. The advertorial page sits between the first piece of content where the prospect might have come across your business or your content for the first time and the opt-in page where you ask them to join your email list or the sales page where you ask them to buy. All good so far? How do you use advertorials to 'warm up' your audience? In advertorials, you don't want to sell too hard. Because the goal of an advertorial is not to sell – it's to give someone enough information to take the next step. There are a couple of ways to do this and move them to the next page. You can use anchor text. Let's say you sell a weight loss product. You might have a line in your article that says, “Jenny lost 30 lbs before Christmas”. And that can become your anchor text, i.e. you add to that phrase the hyperlink to your opt-in page and lead magnet. Or you can use subtle CTA (Call to Action) at the bottom of our hypothetical advertorial example where you say something like, “If you'd also like to get results like Jenny, click here to get our free Seven Day Course”, for example. Just remember not to make it too promotional. When writing advertorial content, you're in a giving mindset - your audience wants to get something useful. And your job is to give them information, entertainment, or something they want to read. Because when it comes to advertorials, they're not interested in buying something - not yet. How to use advertorials to reach a wider audienceWhether you're buying ad space or trying to grow your audience organically, advertorials help you filter through the people who are interested in what you have to offer. Ultimately, these are the prospects who are more likely to convert. But at the same time, using advertorials allows you to cast a wider net. Because now that you have people coming in and showing an interest in your content, you can re-target them. So even if you have someone who doesn't take the next step with you just yet, at least you know they're interested in what you have to say....

Sometimes talking to someone in marketing can feel a lot like speaking with someone in the military. Especially when it comes to just how many acronyms they can squeeze into a single sentence - like CPC, CTA, ICP, ROI... I wanted to demystify one of the biggest acronyms, that if you know none of the others, this is the one I want you to know of. This is the 'CTA' or the 'call to action'. This is about always giving your audience somewhere to go, the next action to take (especially off the back of creating some really inspiring or engaging marketing content). This is the one thing that if you don't study any other of the acronyms when it comes to the marketing space, I want you to be fully aware of this one and are putting it into practice every single time you put yourself out there into the world. On this episode I share with you some amazing wins by our listeners who have reached out to tell me some incredible stories about how they have both been helping themselves and others through what they have learned from this podcast which just totally makes my heart sing and I love the ripple effect!! The one episode that I have been hearing about the most so far is the hail to your exhale episode. It is episode 4 where I shared with you an amazing breathing tool that focuses on your exhale breath which is the key to your relaxation response to make you quickly feel calm & grounded. If you haven't listened yet, you can go back and take a listen-it is so good!On that episode I told you the story of how I was able to help 2 people at the scene of a car accident that I witnessed after exiting a show one night with my family….I helped both the person who was hit by a car and the person who was driving the car…by teaching them this 1 really effective breathing tool that I call straw breath. I share 2 more personal scenarios where I utilized the opportunity to teach this tool on public transportation enabling no emergency landings or stops on a train or a plane: On a train from NY to NJ when the passenger next to me was having a seizure and the surrounding passengers went into panic modeOn a plane when the passenger next to me had a full on panic attack that the flight attendant could not control&  hear from our listeners:A physician who also taught  this breathing tool to a passenger on her flight after hearing my recountA hypertensive listener lowered her own blood pressure to normal while in her doctor's waiting room to the surprise of her nurse and doctorAn incredibly stressed listener dealing with her own illness and those of her family was able to get an amazing night's sleep for the 1st time in years And then your CTA: Call to action! To help yourself and others by practicing this amazing breathing tool and teaching it to at least 1 other person to create a steep ripple effect helping others feel stress free from the inside out!Earn CME:Reflect on how this Podcast applies to your day-to-day and earn AMA PRA Category 1 CMEs here: https://earnc.me/6gGtPSRegister for Rx Inner Peace: A Physician's Guide for Self-Care (25 CME):https://mahec.net/event/65278Physicians schedule your FREE Stress Relief Strategy Call:https://go.oncehub.com/StressReliefStrategyCallCheck out StressFreeMD!https://www.stressfreemd.net/Follow me on Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/stressfreemd/Connect with me on LinkedInhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/robyntigermd/Physicians: join our free private physicians-only Facebook grouphttps://www.facebook.com/groups/thephysiciansselfcarecommunityFree Self-Care Videos:https://www.stressfreemd.net/free-self-care-videosSelf-Care Shop--accredited programs for healthcare and open to everyonehttps://www.stressfreemd.net/selfcareshopPrivate 1:1 Coachinghttps://www.stressfreemd.net/coachingContactinfo@stressfreemd.netPodcast website:https://www.podpage.com/the-stressfreemd-podcast

Is your CTA (Call to Action) intentional and effective? We are discussing CTA best practices in this episode. Crafting a compelling call to action is critical to getting a potential client to take the next step in every place you share your marketing messages. Your website is one of the places where this will have the most impact. Fifty-five percent of the visitors who come to your website will spend less than fifteen seconds there. So you've got to grab their attention and be intentional with what you're offering them when they get there. Creating a valuable offer or downloadable tool is only part of your call to action designed to grow your e-mail list. You also need to be intentional with the language you use when asking visitors to share their e-mail addresses with you. Listen in to learn how to create an inviting and actionable CTA and where you should be sharing it. On the 16th episode of Go Book Yourself, the podcast that helps you Master Writing, Marketing, and Publishing One Byte at a Time, we're talking about writing the extraneous pieces (anything but the main content) of the book. These are super important and sometimes don't get the love and attention they need. We're going to love them up today! Here's a cheater list for you to work off so you can follow along: Resources page - This is the page where you will provide all the ways that a reader can get in touch with you. Dedication - Not mandatory, but a nice nod to people/causes that mean the most to you. Foreword - Written by another person and ideally an influencer. Afterword - Placed at the back of the book, a recap of the value of the book. Introduction - Written last--listen in to learn why. References/footnotes - All you need to remember is that you must cite info when required. Your editor/publisher should handle the formatting. Acknowledgments - Located at the back of the book and gives thanks to specific people instrumental to the creation of your book. About the Author - Aka, your bio. Disclaimer - Not mandatory (but a smart way to CYA--cover your arse). Book bonuses - Super cool gifts from you to the reader. CTA (Call-to-action) - Bring your readers closer to you with high-value content designed to benefit them and you. Amazon description - Exactly what it sounds like. Check out any book on Amazon for a better idea of what to do here. The above are little tidbits that will help you with your own list. Listen to the show to hear the specifics of the what, why, and how that you need to know to create totally tuned-up and tight extraneous content. As always, reach out to your host, Hilary Jastram, for guidance. Go here → GBYPodcast.com. Thanks for tuning in! If you like what we have to say, please share this episode, and leave us a review—especially if it's a nice one. And if you really liked this episode, subscribe and get updates on upcoming episodes, as well as read all the show notes. Don't let intimidation stop you from becoming an author. We're closing this chapter until next week. In the meantime, write on! WE teach this in our Network Marekting Accelerator course we did a whole deep dive on this in there. How do you show and build your brand?Make sure you create your brandBefore you jump into all the details of your Broadcast, it important to briefly explain to your viewers WHO you are and what your topics are about.Creating a Branded Intro for your Facebook/Instagram LivesIf you are doing a Live video to market your business or product, you might be looking for a way to brand your videos, a customer intro to make them more professional. Think about something you can say each time to intro WHO you are and WHAT you are about. Think of it as your branding title.Think to cover in that first 1-2 minutes of opening of your Live Video.Introduce yourself - Who are you and your tag line? Example: So great to connect with you all tonight, my name is Kellie Hoover if we have not met yet and I am passionate about helping women feel their best and find their purpose in their everyday life. How to create that tag line: Who are you & why do you do what you do?My name is Blair Critch and I am mom of 2 and wife in Fort Lauderdale fL and I love to help people feel & look their best without sacrificing time with their family.I came up with that because I know my business is health & wellness and so I want to make sure they know can feel better, look better/aka lose weight, and do it easily with their schedules since I mostly talk to women who are busy.Always say:Replay Viewers...If you are catching this on the replay, ask a question. (The first few seconds of your live video people are not watching live, so this is a great time to ask your replay viewers to engage)Introduce yourself - Who are you and your tag line? Example: So great to connect with you all tonight, my name is Kellie Hoover if we have not met yet and I am passionate about helping women feel their best and find their purpose in their everyday life.Topic- What are you talking about today. You can dramatically change your LIVE video just by adding some lighting and lashes….Well, not just lashes...but your overall presentation.Lets chat about lighting! You NEED it! The more lighting the better. Below are some of my favorite lighting & tools to use!Outdoor lighting is perfect!! You do not need to worry, just make sure shadows are not on your face or the sun is not in your eyes! You do not need to spend a ton of money either...Grab a lamp and a very bright room to help you until you can invest in some special lighting. Our favorite easy lighting and live items are found on a graphic inside our free community: Find this graphic on www.blessedmommabossesgroup.com under Guides: Free ResourcesMake sure your background in presentable and you will not be embarrassed by what the viewers will see. (like a bed or dirty dishes) You don't want your viewers to be distracted from listening to your words. Now that does not mean you cant use your backyard or that you have to have a backdrop behind you just not clutter, distractions, etc. Think about what you are wearing and does it go along with your Theme of your live? Maybe add lipstick, hat, something fun for your live? Maybe your live is about how to have more energy well you do not want to look exhausted that day…Maybe you have a fun graphic tee or fun hat on too. Lets talk about sound….Make sure your viewers can hear you and that its not too loud!FB Live if you are by yourself is great, but sometimes you may want to show your screen or have a guest.Streamyard is a great resource -plus you can have a count down and it shows your name on itMaybe you want to record and drop at a time to make it look live? Making it 3 top tips or 5 ways, etc. is easier to remember or an acronym like we do for CAP or LIVE nowWhat do you want them to FEEL ?What do you want them to feel while watching you? Connected? Like you care? etc. The way someone feels will make them want to work with you or buy from you.Are you touching their pain points? Do you know their pain points?WE teach that in Inner circle last week actually when discussing how to build your brand and in our Units of Vault info customer avatar. Important to know this before talking on subject I want them to feel……Now part of the feel is being YOU, you want them to feel your energy, if you like to start by dancing out to some music do it but if that is not you do not do it. If you do not wear make up ever then dont wear it on the live, unless you sell make up LOLWhat do you want them to DO?CTA-Call to ActionIf you are looking to take your business to the next level, right now. This year. This month. We have the perfect place to start. Advisors are always wondering how best to speak with a prospective client. They often meet or know plenty of possible ideal prospects, but they don't know how to strike up a conversation that will generate an appointment. They don't want to sound too salesy or blunt but they know they can't convert a prospect to a client without getting that first "yes". The answer is to master your conversational marketing.Conversational marketing has two meanings in today's world. One is the technology application of a chat box on a website. The other is the actual words that come out of your mouth. This podcast is focused on how the words you say will empower your prospective clients to say yes to meeting with you. So we will explore how to create a conversation that will lead to that appointment. You will learn how to lay the foundation of your CTA (Call to Action) by clearly articulating whom you serve, what you do, how you do it, and why you do it. You'll also learn how to create an emotionally powerful personal story that will help your prospects understand why they should work with you.

I often get asked why do I speak so much about video content and specifically how to do live videos. Well, live videos are such a powerful tool for a brand and a business, so here's a full episode of dazed, confused and generally buggered dedicated to live video for your business. Here's my tips for structuring your live: 1. Introduce yourself, nobody knows who the hell you are, and even if they do, the new people joining your channel will not, so make sure they know who you are, what you do, where you do it etc. etc. Don't waffle on for ever, but, give them a good 60 / 90 second introduction to you and what you're there to help them with 2. Once you've introduced yourself, it's into the subject matter at hand, so this is your blog content, use the bullet points you've taken down to help you flow the story you're talking about and make sure you're giving value, but you know the subject matter well, you've researched it, written about it, it's your arena and people are coming to learn not to laugh 3. Give people a CTA (Call to action). This isn't a chance for you to throw a sales pitch at the audience, this is a chance to open the floor to more discussions, maybe an email to create a connection, remember, social media is all about being SOCIAL, it's not a selling tool, not until you enter the realms of advertising instead of plain and simple communicative content. BSS Podcast Ep. 29 - Special offers that work! “Buy Now! - 50%OFF – Purchase it! – Download it! “- Ads and CTA (Call to Actions) Get out some pen and paper on this one! Ryan and I chat about the next step of a potential client’s journey of the pipeline you have created to acquire them. Who are you trying to reach? What does success look like of your offer? Is it a purchase or a simple form that is filled out? Once you identify this, it is all about trying to pull a trigger on their emotion in order to elicit a response from them. The CTA on the offer is not always to make a sale but to move them step by step into your funnel. Ryan discusses how the purpose of many ads is strictly to gather some data from them. The knowledge bomb discussed on this step is referred to as an ethical bribe. So, what is the actual offer you give? Is it unique enough from your daily deal? I discuss how scarcity and urgency ads to the value of your product better than a typical discount. This can be more of an appeal where consumers could feel and share the win. We cap the episode on examples of offers besides the typically loud discount shout out. A ‘try before they buy’, offer of goodwill, a service or included freebie are great ideas to incorporate. There is always a value to be mentioned somewhere in your pipeline in order to get them to “buy-in.” Get the win, it can pay dividends in terms of referrals well past the sale or project. Today on the "Dailicast Moment", host Chris Laning, talks about the CTA (Call to Action), what it is and why you should have one. TRANSCRIPT: With your "Dailicast Moment" for today, I'm Chris Laning from NeighborhoodStage.com. Now, yesterday we were talking about outros and I told you that it gives you a perfect opportunity to do a CTA or a call to action. Now, if you listened to any sort of marketing gurus or anybody talking about Internet and network marketing, you're gonna know what a call to action is. And honestly, I think it predates even Internet marketing. It's kind of always been out there when you're doing advertising and marketing. A call to action is something you're trying to get the people that are listening to your dailicast to actually do. And it's something that will maybe take them a step closer to whatever it is you're trying to accomplish. Boy, that was clear as mud, wasn't it? Well, let me see if I can explain. So a call to action should be short and sweet. You don't want it to go on forever. You don't want to take a minute, two minutes, three minutes to do a call to action. Particularly when you're doing a dailicast that's only supposed to be two to three minutes anyway. Some examples of what you can do is you can just simply say,"Hey, leave us a review." That's going to give them something to do that they're going to take an active step toward helping you out or becoming a closer part of what you've got going on. Another example could just simply be to visit your website. You're trying to drive traffic to your website and you just simply say,"Hey, you know, I'd appreciate it if you could just step on over to Dailicast.com.". Another one that you can do is just ask them to tell their family or friends. Say, "Hey, if you really enjoy what you're listening to, please let your family and friends know about it so that they can listen and tune in as well. " What we're trying to do is get them to take an active step that's gonna give them just a little bit more buy-in for your particular dailicast. We're not going to ask too much of them. Just going to ask a little bit, something they can do quick and easy, but now by taking that step, they're going to feel one step closer to you. Which again has always been the point of the dailicast to get people to know you better, to really take a step toward that relationship. Ultimately, yes, that can lead to sales, but we're not there yet. We just want to get them a little bit closer to that sales funnel. And even if you're not doing a dailicast that's designed to sell, you probably have some sort of mission, even if it's just building community. By getting them to take this one little step, they're taking a step closer to becoming a stronger part of your community. Now that's all for the "Dailicast Moment" for today. If you do like "Dailicast Moment" , I would love for you to connect with me on social media. You can search for "Dailicast Moment" on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or YouTube. If you're on Linkedin, you can search for me directly. Chris Laning, L-A-N-I-N-G. And once we're connected, please share and or like "Dailicast Moment" so your family and friends can find it too. With your "Dailicast Moment" for today, I'm Chris Laning from NeighborhoodStage.com. Have a great day!

So who are the anonymous visitors to your website? With an attractive and useful lead-magnet, you can find out who they are, how to contact them and what they need help with... Capture email addresses Ever seen a pop-up or some advert for an ebook or a resource guide just begging to be dowloaded? (Of course you have!) You entered your email address and...(hey presto)...you saw a link to a download in your email inbox. When you clicked on that link, you just proved that content-marketing really works. As today's guest Kevin says: "....It's very rare for someone to come to your website and immediately hire you. 'So what you need to do is to get the email address of the visitor so you can contact them. Then over time (once you have their email address) you can start to send them useful content. Over a period of time, you win their trust so that they are more likely to hire you. Effectively, you need to build useful content in an attractive, concise format which convinces your target audience that your content is worth exchanging their email address for. So where's your first ebook? Start writing today The good news - as Kevin explains - is that you don't have to write a 100-page tome or huge book! Think of the last .pdf you downloaded from the web. It wasn't the complete guide or the last-word on that subject, was it? It didn't need to be because most people just want a few tips (usually 3-7 steps) to accomplish something. That's something like 500-800 words plus pictures. The point is that you don't have to write a whole book. You can start with something simple ..but valuable. The beauty of software like Beacon.by is that you can select the kind of lead-magnet you want to create, and Beacon.by creates the front page, back page, table of contents....the works! So, start up Microsoft Word or Google Docs and start with an outline, then add some content to each paragraph. When you are ready, you can paste the words into Beacon.by and download your new ebook to feature on your website or email your customers. What are you waiting for?.... Biggest takeaways for you today:  How lead-magnets are changing the world of marketing Which kinds of lead-magnets are right for you How you can include video in your lead-magnets Why you need to add a CTA (Call to Action) How you can create a very effective title in 2 steps How Beacon can convert a blog-post into a lead-magnet Where you can find free pictures to make ebooks attractive Why you need more than one lead-magnet for success Some helpful resources for you: beacon.by- Create downloadable resources for prospects leadpages- Create landing pages to market your training mailchimp- Use your prospects email address to market to them drip- Create automated email series to send your prospects

Ever been influenced by something, or even someone. We’ll be covering what an influencer is later, but first we’re discussing all things content with the wonderful Janine Wood. Janine is a Senior Partner at Armadillo Consulting Group providing Communications and Strategic Management Consultancy where helping organisations capture their target audiences' attention with tailored, impactful content is the name of the game. For over 25 years Janine has worked in a variety of sectors right through from new and disruptive technology to packaging design and loves creating strategic plans and writing the content within them.   Takeaways - Creating content, content that matters needs to have some form of structure. The main points Janine raised for doing this through thought leadership are: - What is the overall strategy - Who is their target market and who do they want to be reading about them - Then what will resonate with this market, making it thought provoking - All this before you consider where this content needs to be placed (different channels) - And don't forget that CTA – Call to action - Finally, remember it is always quality over quantity. - Rather than focus on what people are doing wrong, Janine suggests its more about the opportunities that are being missed. Creating a standard press release and then sending it out to the wider world is not good enough. You need to be selective in your approach and tailor your content accordingly. Remember, it’s your name, your brand and your reputation, so make sure your content is as interesting as you are! - And finally, thought leadership is very different from being an influencer, although they both look to do similar things. Influencers are more visual and impactful, whereas thought leaders need to be going in-depth with their content. Either way, it is what will fit with the brand that can be the deciding factor.   Influencers As we’ve been speaking about this today, I thought it would be good to dig a little deeper into this type of Marketing. Now influencer Marketing isn’t anything new. It’s been around since the famous were seen as, famous! But what has heightened the knowledge of this tactic is the accessibility to communicate to hundreds and thousands of people with very little investment, mainly through platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat. Influencer Marketing is leveraging the popularity of an individual to promote a certain product or service to a desired set of people. The important factor to consider here is the relevance any individual has in a particular market. Both the influencer and the thing that they are promoting must be aligned and have the same principles in order for them to resonate within the market an organisation wants to promote to and persuade to take some sort of action – usually transactional. If you are still unclear as to what this is all about, take a look on Instagram at a personal trainer called James Smith, although he doesn’t endorse much himself (only the brand he has close ties to and believes in) he does shine a light on the fitness industry and how some celebrities are endorsing products they (a) shouldn't be and (b) are offering false promises to influential people with limited knowledge – check him out and you’ll soon see what I mean (link in the show notes as always). Marketing is activities of a company associated with buying and selling a product or service. People who work in marketing try to get the attention of target audiences by using slogans, packaging design, celebrity endorsements and general media exposure. Marketing is everything a company does to acquire customers and maintain a relationship with them. Is this necessarily a bad thing? Even the small tasks like writing thank-you letters, returning phone calls and emails promptly and meeting with a past client for coffee can be thought of as marketing.  #QOTD: What will the results of the Jets-Lions game be? Look, I'm a salesman. I'm all about the CTA (Call to action), but at the end of the day we're talking about the difference between sales and branding. Anybody can be a great salesman, but creating a great brand is something totally different. Being a Nike, being a Puma, as opposed to just selling sneakers, is totally different. Sometimes I don't go for the CTA, sometimes I don't go for the popup, or the other growth-hacking techniques. The reason for that is I believe in the Jabs. I believe in branding. I believe that there is a time and a place. I believe there's context. In a 2015 world, people watch this show, and they see that I'm not selling them anything; that I'm taking the time to do this in my favorite place in the world (the Jets' parking lot). Sure I COULD throw some call to action at them, but by asking for that, I leaving something huge on the table. That person has the ability to google me, find out more, and develop a real relationship with my brand, but by selling up front, I could very well ruin that. By trying to score on the first date, I could be passing up the chance to get married.
