The NFL has informed teams that salary cap for 2025 will fall between 277 and 281 million, a jump over 20 million from 2024. It's believed to be up more than 5 million above the expectation. General Manager Andrew Berry will have work to do to get under the cap but will have a large amount of money to spend. Taking the cap number into account host Jeff Lloyd tries to build a defensive end room for 2025 that will get the defense back on track. Today, I want to focus on the role of the pastor in all of this. What a big job! Welcome to Run With Horses! My name is Norman and my goal is to help you thrive as a follower of Jesus. The spiritual life is both incredibly simple and potentially the most difficult part of your life. God invites you to live intentionally and on His mission. It's very cool that we can do that together! Thank you for joining me today! If you are new to the show, you can find our past shows on our website, runwithhorses.net. I have spent several weeks focusing on a definition of the church and the current discussion about a discipleship pathway is best understood in the context of our broader look at the church. If you have been enjoying the show, I would appreciate it if you would leave a review wherever you are listening! And as always, your questions, comments and feedback are welcome. Write me at norman@runwithhorses.net. And now, on with the show... ***(27:00) ***END***(23:00)**** Habits – Personal Humility and Teachability • Habit: Maintain a posture of humility, being teachable and open to correction and growth. • Biblical Basis: "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up." (James 4:10) Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. • Why It's Important: Pride can hinder spiritual growth and effectiveness in discipling others. Humility allows the disciple maker to continue growing and learning. Prides keeps you at the center, Humilty helps keep Jesus at the center. ***(23:00)***END***(0:00) Shepherding and equipping a church for ministry requires a lot from a pastor. 1. **Spiritual Leadership** - **Biblical Knowledge****Prayer Life****Discernment** 2. **Preaching and Teaching** - **Effective Communication****Teaching Skills** 3. **Relational Skills** - **Empathy and Compassion****Conflict Resolution****Mentoring and Discipleship** 4. **Leadership and Vision Casting** - **Visionary Leadership****Decision-Making and Strategy****Delegation** 5. **Equipping and Empowering** - **Recognizing Gifts in Others****Training and Development****Empowerment – give authority away to others** 6. **Administration and Organization** - **Organizational Skills****Team Building****Budgeting and Stewardship** 7. **Emotional Intelligence** - **Self-Awareness****Ability to read the room****Resilience** 8. **Counseling and Pastoral Care** - **Counseling Skills****Crisis Management** 9. **Cultural Awareness and Engagement** - **Cultural Sensitivity**: Churches are often diverse in terms of culture, background, and socioeconomic status. A pastor must be culturally aware and sensitive, able to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome. - **Community Engagement**: Pastors should have a heart for the local community and a strategy for how the church can serve outside its walls. Engaging with local needs and being a visible presence in the community helps fulfill the church's mission. 10. **Adaptability and Lifelong Learning** - **Adaptability**: The church and broader culture are always changing. Pastors must be flexible, able to adapt their leadership and ministry approaches to meet new challenges, such as changes in technology, social issues, or generational shifts. - **Continual Growth**: Great pastors are lifelong learners, committed to their own spiritual, intellectual, and professional growth. Attending conferences, pursuing theological education, or engaging with mentors helps pastors stay sharp and effective in their ministry. 11. **Personal Integrity and Character** - **Moral Integrity**: Above all, pastors need to model Christlike character, demonstrating integrity, humility, and faithfulness in their personal and professional lives. Trust is central to leadership, and integrity is foundational to building that trust. - **Servant-Heartedness**: Pastors should approach their leadership role with humility and a desire to serve others, following the example of Christ, who came not to be served but to serve (Matthew 20:28). By developing these skills, a pastor can effectively shepherd the congregation, equip members for ministry, and create a thriving, Christ-centered church community. Balancing the various responsibilities of a pastor—such as sermon preparation, counseling, small groups, leadership, and training — requires intentional time management and prioritization. Here's a strategy to help a pastor manage these tasks effectively: 1. **Set Priorities and Define Time Blocks** - **Sermon Preparation:** This is typically the pastor's core weekly responsibility, so allocate large, uninterrupted blocks of time. Many pastors reserve the best mental energy times, such as mornings, for sermon prep. A typical week might include: - **Monday**: Initial study and prayer for the sermon. - **Tuesday/Wednesday**: Deep study, outlining, and drafting. - **Thursday**: Finalizing and practicing delivery. - **Counseling:** Set dedicated times during the week for counseling appointments. For instance, 1-2 afternoons can be reserved for pastoral care and counseling. - **Small Groups and Discipleship:** These typically occur in the evening. You can limit these to a few nights per week (e.g., Tuesday and Thursday) and delegate or raise up other leaders to assist in leading groups. - **Leadership and Training:** Set aside time for leadership development, meetings, or training sessions. This can be scheduled weekly or bi-weekly, depending on the need. For example, leadership meetings could be set for Monday or Wednesday afternoons, before or after sermon prep. 2. **Delegate Where Possible** Pastors often feel they need to do everything themselves, but delegating is key to maintaining balance. Assign trusted team members or volunteers to lead certain small groups, handle administrative tasks, or even assist in some counseling roles. ***(00:00)*** END PART 1*** ___________________ ***(27:00) ***BEGIN PART 2 ***END ***(5:00)*** 3. **Utilize Early Mornings or Evenings for Training and Leadership** If training leaders or discipling key individuals is a priority, use early mornings for small leadership huddles or evenings if that works better for the participants. Short, focused meetings (e.g., breakfast meetings) can maximize time without disrupting the rest of the day. 4. **Batch Similar Tasks** Instead of switching between different types of work throughout the day, batch similar tasks together. For instance, group all counseling appointments on specific days and leave other days for sermon prep and leadership training. This minimizes transition time and helps you stay mentally focused on one type of task at a time. 5. **Personal Development Time** Block time each week for your own spiritual and professional growth. Without this, it can be easy to burn out. This might include personal Bible study, prayer, or reading to stay refreshed. 6. **Protect Your Sabbath** Schedule a clear day of rest each week to recharge. It's important for pastors to guard their time for personal renewal, family, and spiritual refreshment. ### Example Typical Weekly Schedule:### Where is the rest? - **Monday:** - Morning: Sermon prep (Initial study, prayer, and research) - Afternoon: Counseling and administrative tasks - Evening: Rest/Family time - **Tuesday:** - Morning: Sermon prep (Deep study and outlining) - Afternoon: Counseling appointments - Evening: Small group meeting or discipleship group - **Wednesday:** - Morning: Sermon prep (Writing and structuring) - Afternoon: Leadership team meeting or training session - Evening: Midweek service or discipleship training - **Thursday:** - Morning: Sermon prep (Finalization and practice) - Afternoon: Free for flexible needs or meetings - Evening: Small group meeting or discipleship - **Friday:** - Morning: Personal study and prayer (Sabbath/Rest day) - Afternoon: Counseling or visiting members - Evening: Rest/Family time - **Saturday:** - Morning: Free for sermon review or final prep - Afternoon: Outreach, ministry, or personal rest - Evening: Rest - **Sunday:** - Preaching and ministry day ## My Thoughts on a Weeks Schedule Sunday AM Message – Theology of the week – Main theme for the body to focus on this week. Sunday PM – small group ministry, each group asks specific questions about the application of the morning theme and discusses personal application and questions. Feedback for the pastor should come from these groups, what wasn't understood or agreed with? Midweek small groups – prayer focused on living out the mission of Jesus, who are we reaching out to now, how are we doing in living out the Sunday Am message. How can we pray for each other and answer questions that come up as we make real attempts to be followers of Jesus. SS AM before next Message and new theme – final thoughts on the theme from last week, questions about application, encouragement to continue applying this truth to their lives For the pastor, First thing on the schedule is Personal pursuit of Jesus. Second is time with men he is equipping for ministry. Ideally every pastor would always have 2-3 men he is training. Give them your best time and meet when they are available. As men are trained and able to come alongside in ministry time is freed up for the pastor to train others. I put prep for these men above sermon prep. Third, prep for weekly theme. Ideally these consistently builds and are related so you aren't starting from zero, ever. The focus should be practical truths that, when applied in the life of the believer, lead them closer to Jesus and His mission. Fourth, general ministry activities and life of the church tasks. Delegate as many of these as possible. You serve the church body best not by doing everything for them but by helping them see that they are the church and it is their responsibility to be the church. ****(5:00) ***END***( 1:00)*** DOCTRINE October – Bible Authority of the Bible Inerrancy of the Bible Sufficiency of the Bible Necessity of the Bible Necessity: Related to sufficiency, but slightly different, this doctrine holds that “the Bible is necessary for knowing the gospel, for maintaining spiritual life, and for knowing God's will, but is NOT necessary for knowing that God exists or for knowing something about God's character and moral laws” (Grudem, Systematic Theology, 116). This gets at the difference between special and general revelation. Scripture alone provides special revelation: knowledge of God's will and salvation Rom. 10:13–17 – 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Israel Rejects the Gospel 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18 But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed: “Their sound has gone out to all the earth, And their words to the ends of the world.” Acts 4:12 – 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” **(1:00)**END**(00:00) Thanks for joining me again today! I think you will agree with me that the role of the pastor is a big job. If you are not a pastor, take some time to pray for yours today. If you are a pastor, thank you for your service and take some time to ask God to continue growing you in Christ-likeness as you serve. Interview with Luke Norman, Chairman of US Gold CorpOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/us-gold-corp-nasdaqusau-advancing-the-ck-gold-project-towards-production-3912Recording date: 3rd August 2024US Gold Corp (NASDAQ:USAU) is advancing its flagship CK Gold project in Wyoming, offering investors exposure to a permitted, near-term gold and copper development opportunity in a mining-friendly U.S. jurisdiction. The project's strategic location near Cheyenne, Wyoming, provides significant infrastructure advantages and has contributed to a smooth permitting process. Key project highlights include:Advanced Permitting: CK Gold has secured crucial permits, including the industrial siting permit and permit to mine. Only one final air quality permit remains, which the company expects to obtain without significant issues.Strong Economics: The December 2021 pre-feasibility study outlined robust economics, with 1 million ounces of gold and 248 million pounds of copper in reserves. The project boasts an attractive all-in sustaining cost (AISC) of approximately $800 per ounce, based on conservative metal price assumptions.Unique Value-Add Opportunities: US Gold Corp is exploring ways to monetize approximately 35 million tons of waste rock as aggregate or rail ballast, potentially creating a significant additional revenue stream. The company is also considering the post-mining use of the open pit for water storage, which could enhance community relations.Creative Financing Approach: Rather than pursuing dilutive equity financing at current market levels, the company is exploring alternative options. These include non-traditional capital sources, municipal bonding, aggregate sales, and potential prepayment agreements.Experienced Management: Led by Chairman Luke Norman, the team has a track record of creating shareholder value in the mining sector.US Gold Corp's current market capitalization of around $60 million appears to significantly undervalue the project's potential. Management believes a more appropriate valuation would be closer to 0.8 times net present value, or about $323 million, based on the project's reserve base and permitted status.Near-term catalysts for the company include:Finalization of the air quality permitEconomic studies on the aggregate opportunityEngagement with potential financing partnersOngoing project optimizationsFor investors, US Gold Corp offers exposure to both gold and copper, providing a hedge against inflation and participation in the green energy transition. The project's advanced stage and permitted status reduce many of the risks typically associated with junior mining investments. However, investors should be aware of the challenges facing the company, including securing project financing on attractive terms and achieving a market valuation that reflects the project's true worth. The junior mining sector is known for its volatility, and careful due diligence and position sizing are crucial. The CK Gold project aligns with several important macro trends, including growing demand for critical minerals, emphasis on domestic supply chains, and infrastructure development. The company's creative approach to project optimization and financing also reflects broader trends in the junior mining sector. In conclusion, US Gold Corp represents an intriguing opportunity for investors seeking exposure to a de-risked gold and copper project in a stable jurisdiction. With key catalysts on the horizon and potential for significant value creation, the company merits close attention from investors interested in the precious and base metals sectors. As always, thorough due diligence is essential when considering an investment in the junior mining space.View US Gold Corp's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/us-gold-corpSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

Imagine how it would feel when you are able to manage a proposal process from start to finish that is planned, organized, and follows a predictable schedule. You not only know the steps involved in any proposal response situation but take charge of the entire process and delegate with authority and confidence. You are confident your proposal is compliant, customized, and showcases your firm as the best. After you hit that submit button, you feel like a success. It makes your entire marketing department (which might only be you) proud. Firm leaders take notice of how smooth the proposal process was. Can you even imagine that? Now that's #marketingboss After managing proposals for 17+ years in the architecture/engineering industry, I have compiled a list of the activities involved in proposal management from the moment that RFP hits your desk to its timestamped by the client. I've boiled all of it down to three phases—Coordinating, Content Development, and Review, Finalization, and Delivery (RFD). And in today's episode, I am going to narrow on one of those phases – the Content Development phase. And more specifically some best practices on how to approach the order in which you develop your proposal content. Robert has more than 30 years of experience consulting on executive compensation matters at large, small, and mid-cap companies, both public and private. In 2015, the SEC proposed, but never finalized, regulations governing clawbacks and pay-for-performance. The current statute's vague parameters make it difficult to build compensation structures that are effective and compliant. The SEC recently announced that it intends to finalize regulations by April 2022. In light of this, Robert offers advice on how companies can prepare for new regulations. Regarding pay-for-performance, companies need more specific requirements from the SEC to build compensation models. Rather than modifying clawback policies, Robert recommends taking inventory of existing policies and processes and waiting for final rules. Divorce and Your Money - #1 Divorce Podcast

Being served divorce papers signifies the beginning of the end. Unfortunately, it does not always mean that appearing in court will necessarily happen quickly. Finalization could be months or years away, even after you have divorce papers in hand. In the meantime, what should you do to make the most of this time?   Preparing for the inevitable end of your marriage can give you a feeling of control. But it can also assist you in receiving all that you are entitled to as a participant in your marriage. Taking charge of the situation during this initial phase can give you a successful start toward a favorable resolution to your divorce process.   Once you are served with divorce papers, what do you need to do first? Here are a few tips for getting started on the right path:   1) Get organized.   When it comes to finalizing your divorce, you cannot underestimate the importance of organization. Begin by using this time to gather pertinent documents, including tax returns, bank statements, and information about retirement savings accounts. The more work you can do at this stage without the pressure of a time crunch, the more thorough you can be at assembling and gathering everything you need.   This stage could also be a good time to begin thinking through which assets or properties hold significant value to you. Is there a piece of furniture you want to claim in the settlement? Make a list of these items now—without the heat of spousal squabbles. Then you can more easily clarify which items are most important to you.   2) Assemble your team of professionals.   Depending on the complexity of your divorce, you may need to hire quite a few professionals to assist you. Team members may include an attorney, a certified divorce financial analyst, a forensic accountant, or a private investigator. Be sure to do research to determine which professionals have extensive experience in their field and great customer reviews.   You can also use this time to consider how much of the work you will be doing on your own. Some prefer to file their own paperwork, or you can just work out a settlement negotiation with your spouse. Others find their divorce to be more complicated. Therefore, they may need the assistance of an attorney to go to trial.   Knowing how much you want to complete on your own and how much you plan to spend can assist you with hiring the right professionals for the job.   Remember that the people you hire to handle your divorce are there for a purpose. It will be a business relationship, and should be managed as such. Select professionals that you can work with well, as you could be spending a large amount of time and money with your team.   The professionals you hire are the people responsible for assisting you in receiving the best possible settlement. These decisions are crucial for the future of your financial security, and they cannot be overlooked.   3)If possible, try to open the lines of communication with your spouse. If possible, healthy communication can certainly speed up the process of agreeing on a settlement or a custody arrangement for your children. When a healthy level of open communication is possible, the process can be easier, less emotionally taxing, and significantly faster.   The more you and your spouse can sort out between you, the less involvement you will need from attorneys and other team members. If you open the lines of communication, both of you will typically have an easier negotiation and lower attorney fees.   However, under certain circumstances like abuse, bullying, or manipulation, you should not even consider communication. In these kinds of situations, allow the team you have assembled to handle most, if not all of the communication between the two of you.   4)Take care of your own emotional health. Even though divorce is an extremely emotionally turbulent time in anyone’s life, the professionals you hire are not there to hear about your feelings. Instead, you hire them to handle the facts, and create a favorable divorce settlement; that is truly all you should be sharing with them.   Therefore, you will need to find another outlet for the emotional response triggered by the impending end of your marriage. For some, this outlet can be as simple as talking with friends over drinks, or taking a yoga class to practice mindfulness.   If you have a smaller support system, you may want to consider enlisting the help of a professional therapist. It may be worthwhile to consider seeking professional help to find coping skills if you feel overstressed.   Over time, the burden of extreme emotional distress can take a toll on your physical health and psyche. Sorting through your feelings can improve your well-being, and it can allow you to participate in your divorce process with a calmer demeanor and more level head. This mindset allows you to be firm during all the negotiations that are involved after being served divorce papers.   Early in the process, take control.   Being served divorce papers truly is the first step toward finalizing the end of your marriage. And it is the start of something new. You will quickly discover that there are a lot of items on your to-do list that require your attention. By taking control of the situation now, you can enter the rest of the process with increased levelheadedness and a sense of calm.   Take the first steps towards securing a financially healthy future in your soon-to-be single life. Once you are served divorce papers, it is time to take control of your life. Following these steps will help you before the divorce process even begins.     Thank you for listening to the Divorce and Your Money Show. Moses' exposition of the renewed terms of the covenant pertaining to social order in the covenant community demands wholehearted obedience on the part of the people to specific stipulations concerned with such social issues as manslaughter, family relationships, property rights, confusion of the sexes, and the exclusion of those who are unclean from the assembly of Yahweh. (21:1–26:15) IV Yahweh’s terms of covenant renewal requires the new generation to ratify the covenant and take an oath of allegiance to Him and His covenant. (26:16–30:20) A. The renewed terms of the covenant obliges Israel to ratify the covenant by declaring Yahweh to be their God whom they will obey, and for Yahweh to declare Israel to be His people whom He will set high above all other nations. (26:16-19) B. The renewed terms of the covenant necessitates Israel conduct a ceremony declaring the covenant curses and blessings, and take an oath of allegiance to Yahweh and His commandments. (27:1–30:20) 1. Finalization of the ratification of covenant renewal requires Israel to conduct a ceremony from atop Mounts Gerizim and Ebal on the day they enter the Land, where they are to declare the commandments of Yahweh and denounce as cursed the one who breaks anyone of the Ten Commandments. (27:1-26) 2. The renewed terms of the covenant include the promise of great blessings in return for obedience to Yahweh's commandments, and sanctions involving cruel curses, the ultimate of which is destruction of the nation and exile from the Land, in response to defiant disobedience. (28:1-68) 3.
