In this week's Roundtable, the squad dives into the unexpected success of Helldivers 2, PlayStation Studios' first game to launch simultaneously on PlayStation and PC. We then shift gears to Microsoft's Xbox Business Event, which, despite its brevity, sparked a flurry of speculation regarding the company's strategy for porting "exclusives" to PlayStation. The conversation takes a critical turn as we examine the Epic Game Store's 2023 performance review, alongside Epic's maneuver to reintroduce Fortnite on iOS in Europe via its own mobile app store. Additionally, we dissect Supercell's annual public letter and debate the effectiveness of the company's strategic pivots since its last game released in 2018. This week's discussion offers a blend of analysis and insight into the evolving dynamics of game development, distribution, and the broader industry's competitive landscape.

Exit polls for the five states announced post market hours on Monday handed the most populous state in India – Uttar Pradesh – yet again to Bharatiya Janata Party, while Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party is projected to rule Punjab. The outcome of assembly polls across these key states – UP, Punjab, Goa, Mizoram and Uttarakhand – on March 10 comes at a time global headwinds in the form of geopolitical crisis between Russia and Ukraine, rising oil prices and the possible aggressive rate hike by the US Federal Reserve later in March have already taken center stage. Analysts say, the outcome of UP will be keenly watched, as it will pave the way how ruling NDA/ Bharatiya Janata Party approaches and prepares for the general elections due in 2024. For G Chokkalingam, founder and chief investment officer at Equinomics Research, there are other bigger factors for the markets to worry about than the state election outcome right now. He thinks the market reaction will be short-lived. Here's what he said in a chat with Business Standard's Puneet Wadhwa: Political pundits, however, have a different view point and suggest that the outcome of these state polls, especially that of UP, may have a bearing on the general elections due in 2024. According to Pradeep Gupta, CMD of consumer data intelligence company Axis My India, Consumer Sentiment Index survey across the country suggests 50 per cent believe that the results of these five assembly elections will have a considerable impact on the 2024 national elections. The geopolitical concerns that have cast a shadow on the markets has seen the frontline indices – the S&P BSE Sensex and the Nifty 50 – slip 8.2 per cent and 8.3 per cent respectively in the past one month. Let's hear what AK Prabhakar, head of research at IDBI Capital has to say about how he thinks the markets will interpret the outcome. “A thin margin of victory may prompt the BJP / NDA to go slow on the reform process and even look at excise duty cuts and a milder hike in auto fuel rates in the backdrop of rising crude oil prices. All this will be perceived negatively by the markets,” says AK Prabhakar, Head of Research, IDBI Capital. On Wednesday, the markets will continue to monitor the global situation closely along with how crude oil prices play out. Stock-specific action is likely to continue. Watch video

Today on the show I speak with Mama of 2 Emma Penno who lives in remote WA in Port Headland. Emma herself was a c-section baby and so were her 3 siblings. Emma believed for a long time that c-sections were the safest and best option. But, fast forward to her first pregnancy Emma intuitively knew she wanted a natural birth but lost her her first baby at 8 weeks. She fell pregnant for the second time shortly after and had a straight forward physiological birth in hospital. After this birth she decided to freebirth her 2nd son and although she did have prenatal care at the hospital she was always in her power and had a very intuitive pregnancy and birth. Her second sons birth was so simple that her husband came home only a mere hour before he was earth side. When I asked Emma to be on the podcast she said - I don't know what I'd say about it because my freebirth was really a non event. And I replied - that is what I love about it. We also talk about womb regression, how important it is to work on yourself and spirit babies. Enjoy this conversation a very simple but still spiritual birth. More about Emma: Emma is a curious, independent, wild woman. Also, a Mother of two boys living in the remote town of Port Hedland, Western Australia. It was after the birth of Emma's first baby she became really passionate about birth, to then realise 4 years later that her passion for the way we are born actually began at the time of her own birth. After spending the last 6 years understanding more about why and how we birth like we do and creating a business, Emma has shifted her focus to mastering the art of honouring a 'slow' Mother phase, for herself and her family. This looks like getting back to basics, connecting to herself through her inner cycles and nature, slowing down her days and bringing more ritual into her life. From seeing freebirth as dangerous and risky, to thinking a c section would be safer, here is Emma's story of freebirthing her own baby. Photo Credit - Bobbi Lockyer/@Hedlandphotographer

--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/carstenscorner/message
In the past, whether a firm was or was not in protocol played a major role in an advisor's decision to move firms. Afterall, non-protocol firms were sending the none to veiled message that clients were theirs and not advisors. This left non-protocol firm advisors to question - 'if I make a move, how does it impact my future success'. The answer to that question is it doesn't, as discussed by Elite Consulting Partners CEO Frank LaRosa and Dale Dempsey in an episode which outlines just why protocol doesn't matter any more when it comes to your decision to make a move. Discussion topics include:*why advisor preparedness and strategic thinking are more important than protocol when making the choice to switch firms.*how keeping your client list up-to-date is a vital safeguard if you do decide to transition.*how the Merrill Lynch and the 'will they or won't they leave protocol' rumors aren't carrying the same weight as they have in the past with other large firms.*how playing by the rules when moving to a new firm establishes the groundwork for success moving forward. When it comes down to it, deciding to make a move to a new firm should be about you, your goals, your family, and your clients. If you have been diligent about your practice and done the hard work of developing client relationships then protocol is a non-factor. After all, the firm you are leaving can't erase your brain and the knowledge you have attained. Which means, it's time to evaluate and take the next right step for you as an advisor - whatever that may be.
#bitcoin On todays show we ask, Is Bitcoin readying for a leap like we saw in 2017, why is the Bitcoin halving possibly a non event, how a Chinese EOS app has shut walking away with $50million of users funds, how you will soon be able to be paid in crypto for using the zoom app, the NFL player who has invested into the fold app… and finally the block having is racing towards us! We also look at some tweets.
We often describe Delivery as a non-event in the ideal; why not agility itself? Must it really be such a huge enterprise undertaking - especially as we hope to infuse agility into our everyday work and culture? What would happen if we simply moved into our first experiment as the best way of conquering the unknown?

With the widespread expansion of messaging functions and apps on mobile devices over the internet, and the subsequent decision of telcos to make messaging on their own services free, the use case for old school email as a personal communication tool has dwindled to the point of non-existence. And it has only taken a decade to reach this point, particularly as in the 2000s, email was still the primary and free method to stay in contact. Steve and Ben examine how communications technology has changed over the past decade and how the options available now have enhanced and changed our own behaviours in terms of how we communicate with each other, even in the professional space where email still plays a role as a way of keeping official records on business undertaken at work.
Global stocks markets ended the first three months of 2019 in great shape with another winning session on Friday taking US shares to their best quarterly result in almost a decade. China’s Purchasing Manager’s Index, the official gauge of activity in the country’s manufacturing sector of the world’s second biggest economy, rebounded strongly in March. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has called on global lawmakers to introduce more regulation on his own and other internet companies across areas including user privacy. South African shares closed the week with three successive winning sessions with the JSE’s All Share Index rising three quarters of a percent on Friday.
Sometimes leaders get tired of producing good fundraising events. Sometimes donors get tired of attending fundraising events, especially poorly done events. That leads to ideas like this: "What if we don't do an event and just ask everyone to send in their money and take the night off?" Marshall Pennell and Jessica Ching explain why that is probably never a good idea. DonorFarm has all sorts of great materials and ideas that will help you to make the best possible presentations to current and potential donors. Keep watching videos, listening to podcasts, and reading blogs to learn more and more about how to grow and nurture great donor relationships! https://donor.farm/2Gdr6kH

Welcome back to Wall Street Unplugged. Today, everyone is talking about the 10-year Treasury yield—namely, how it just broke 3% for the first time in years. Here’s the truth: this isn’t a big deal—no matter what the media say. This number is still well below historical norms… However, it does present us with a buying opportunity… which I’ll tell you about in today’s show. But before I get to that, I welcome as my guest this week Danielle DiMartino Booth. Danielle is a former adviser at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and editor of the Money Strong newsletter. Today, she breaks down the impact higher yields will have on individual investors… the fundamental landscape of today’s housing market… and why millennials will be a huge drag on the economy much quicker than most economists are forecasting. I also give you a play-by-play of how I find my best stock ideas. This simple strategy will help you invest in the best stocks before Wall Street finds out about them… and before they’re mentioned in the media.

We show Netflix how it's done in dropping a surprise new release with a new episode of MARK AS PLAYED! On this one Michael Denniston of PROJECTING FILM and Jason Michael of ATLANTIC SCREEN CONNECTION don't so much talk THE CLOVERFIELD PARADOX as we do the effect (if any) Netflix is having with their film acquisitions and their attempts to change the game in releasing movies without the traditional marketing materials. To help us make sense of it all we turn to two favorite movie podcasts in THE CINEMILE and THE MOVIE CHEMISTS. It was Turnaround Tuesday in the global financial markets as stocks are recovering from 2 days of carnage following the surprise Brexit vote in the U.K. The Dow was up almost 270 points today, NASDAQ up about 97 But really the markets got beaten up the last couple days The smallest bounce was from the banks, which have been beaten up the most So they had the biggest drop and the smallest bounce Which really shows you how weak that sector is It couldn't even manage much of a dead cat bounce In fact, the carnage in, particularly the European banks is much bigger than it was during the financial crisis of '08 This really shows you how much more levered up the banking system must be, thanks to all these years of QE and negative interest rates And of course, how much farther behind can the American banks be from their European cousins? U.S bank stocks, too, were hitting 52-week lows yesterday I still think there's a lot of carnage coming Some banks may be in a position where they are going to have to raise equity, which means they'll have to sell stock Clearly the market is not going to like that But again, everybody is blaming this on all the uncertainty surrounding Brexit To me, if we had a healthy financial system, if the markets were sound, and prices were based on fundamentals Would it really make that much of a difference if the UK were in the EU or not? What is being revealed here is the fragility of the whole system that is being propped up artificially by the banks By cheap money, low interest rates - everybody is speculating And everybody is assuming that the powers that be, whether it is the politicians, the governments or the central banks have everything under control It's a big put out there and nothing can go wrong And then when something does go wrong, then people get nervous The wake up and say, "Wait a minute! Maybe it's not as safe as we thought!"
It's kind of like a poker night without the poker.
