Five thousand miles in one month! That's not too bad if you're in an airplane, but that's how far I drove at least one summer and we've had many long trips like that. We just about ran the wheels off of our van driving from one conference, or speaking assignment, or college trip to another. Let's see, if I averaged 50 miles per hour, that means I drove for 100 hours. Oh, man! Well, it was a great time, it really was. You know why? My wife was with me. We finally got to be together for extended blocks of time with no phone, no errands to do, no people to take us away. We didn't talk all the time, although we had a lot to catch up on. We probably could have been catching up for about 100 hours. Right? Sometimes we just played music, or occasionally we would just spontaneously pray about something together. Or a lot of times we just enjoyed the silence or some of the beautiful scenery. And then every once in a while you'd hear the silence punctuated with an occasional comment or just an "I love you." I think my wife spoke for both of us when she described what was so nice about all those 5,000 miles. She said, "It was just so great being in your company; just the two of us." I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Just the Two of Us." You know, relationships need time together and especially times when there's like no agenda. It really enriched me to have that kind of time with my wife during all that driving. There's another relationship that might be a need, maybe a desperate need of some "just being" time. Our word for today from the Word of God comes from Psalm 42, out of the heart of David, verses 1 and 2. "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God; for the living God." And then he asks this powerful question, "When can I go and meet with God?" That's the cry of a believer for the greatest emotional need he has - to be intimate with his Lord. When was the last time you just sat down with Jesus and enjoyed His company? Or do you only see Him when you have a list for Him? Jeremy was over at our house with his parents, and he'd been downstairs playing. Suddenly he came into the living room and kind of sat down in his dad's lap, and his dad liked that. His dad kind of wrapped his arms around him, started to cuddle him, and Jeremy didn't settle down; he just kept wiggling. He looked up at his dad and he said, "Daddy, you know I'm not sitting here just because I want to be with you." Great! Yeah, he needed something. Wow! How often is that me with my Heavenly Father, or you maybe? In fact we say, "Well, I'm not here just because I want to be with You; I've got my list. I need something." But you're growing up as a child of God when you want to be with God just to be with God. You say, "Ron, I don't really feel that way yet." Well, that's okay. Tell Him that. Ask Him for the desire for His company; this passion that David had just to be with Him. "When can I go and meet with God?" We have the indescribable privilege to cuddle in the lap of the King of the Universe, to call Him "Daddy," to let Him comfort our battered emotions, to speak new ideas and insights into our quiet heart. He can't do that while you're talking to Him. To be real, real close, you can't just run in and run through your "pleases" and "thank yous" and then run out. You can do all that, but then stay a little longer. I think you and Jesus will feel the same way about it. It's like my wife said, "It was so great just being in your company, Lord, just the two of us."

In a lot of my work, I talk about the Victim/Aggressor/Savior/Martyr cycle.It seems that this dynamic is coming up to be seen and defined again.Mostly, I have spoken about this cycle in how it is experienced by individuals in their normal life experience, and what they can do to step out of it. But recently, I have been making music, and much of the music I am making is inspired by lineages that many consider to be oppressed, subjected to genocide, and exploited.When writing the lyrics for these particular songs, I found that I had to get past a massive wall of "victim/aggressor." For example, lyrics in rap music will often illustrate the wall of “victim/aggressor” in many different iterations. As I looked at that wall, I saw how the music industry has used it to maintain people in a state of disempowerment. A shrunken awareness, due to a belief that they are powerless over their circumstances because they are an oppressed people, results in their free will choices being made from a less than ideal view point.This made me curious. I mean, why keep a certain faction of the world population in a state of disempowerment? Why spend billions of dollars to target these people and make them think they are powerless and the children of slaves, exile, oppression, and exploitation?That is the bit where I want to shine some light.Our awareness and focus are much more powerful these days, and I am thinking that if we can spot the wall that is created for powerful people - our people on Earth - we can start disassembling this illusion of disempowerment.Why is that important? This is a question that seems redundant. However, when we look behind it, we can see that not everyone on Earth is keen on taking their power back and becoming a sovereign being. If we look too closely, the illusion of being oppressed may crash, and peoples around the world might no longer be kept under chains of their own programs and ideologies. Yes, some actually prefer this experience, and that is a part of this that presents challenges in moving forward to a high-frequency high-caliber population on Earth.The reason I see this tremendous effort to keep these sections of society oppressed is because these are the people who - if awake, aware, and empowered - are the most powerful of all. And I don't mean power over others, but powerful in their connection with each other and their ability to weave a new paradigm into existence, one we haven't seen on these continents for millennia. Convince the most powerful that they are marginalized victims and powerless in the face of their generational traumas, and they cocreate exactly what they are convinced of.I have done all I can to reach people across the world to deliver the message of empowerment, but my words, articles, and novels are simply not enough. We find that most of the time, even among the most awake of light-beings, my words are twisted out of their original meaning and made into something completely different - or simply forgotten, or the main message just not seen.Because of this, my words are changing. My message is taking on other expressions, such as novels, music, and art. And my articles are less "fluffy" - not in the sense of being aggressive or harsh, but simply going into depths I had not expressed in the past.I am not sure if you consider yourself part of the oppressed peoples of the world, so let me explain. No matter the color of your skin, if you believe yourself to have been victimized - or feel victimized right now - then you are one of them. If you feel that the color of your skin or the sex of your body makes you the bad character of this movie, then you are one of them. You see, for the illusion to work, the narrative needs victims, aggressors, saviors, and martyrs - all of them.Someone, or a people, cannot become the aggressor or the victim in isolation.With that in mind, let's see how to step out of this cycle. As individuals, it is easy because I have given you the tools to do so for over a decade and a half now. But as peoples of the world, it is slightly different. It requires a bit of mental gymnastics and stepping outside of the light/dark matrix.For that purpose, I created a tool I call 0bservation (yes, with a zero at the start). This is the call to action for this year:The act of 0bservation is when we simply look at a topic, object, or person - in this case, the mantle of victim/aggressor on a people - but do not have any "interaction" with it. We 0bserve and experience the 0bservation of the topic, object, or person but don't judge it. Thoughts about it are thanked and released; we step out of the way and simply allow the Universe to look at the item through our eyes.Whenever thoughts, emotions, judgments, wants, or feelings come up about this topic, thank them and let them pass through you, saying, “Thank you for expressing.”If one of the thoughts, emotions, judgments, wants, or feelings gets “stuck” in you and you cannot release it easily, use the Fear Processing Exercise to release it, then continue to 0bserve the item.When we observe something and really want a certain outcome, what we move into (and it's not a negative thing - it is simply a different tool) is Conscious Co-creation. In other words, we want to create a certain outcome or reality. That is not what this call to action is about. We do not want to interfere with the 0bservation exercise.Sometimes, when we 0bserve, we get firewalls and a sense of "no." We can process those feelings and firewalls with the Firewalls Exercise.OK, so as you can see, there are THREE exercises you can use in this call to action. One is to 0bserve the people who are covered in a mantle of victim or aggressor, martyr or savior. Another is to process any strong feelings, emotions, or thoughts that come through. 1 Kings 8 tells us of the bringing up of the ark to Jerusalem with appropriate pomp and ceremony. Next came Solomon's extolling Yahweh and outlining the process that saw the ark coming to its typical resting place in the magnificent house, which had been built: 1 Chronicles 16 verses 8-36 records David's Psalm of thanksgiving penned at the time. David describes the spiritual significance of the occasion and how it types Christ's kingdom: carefully and slowly read Psalm 132 and meditate its meaning. Verses 22-53 recorded Solomon's prayer of dedication. Note the emphasis on the inadequacy of any house to befit the Almighty. And the repeated refrain, "then hear in Heaven, your dwelling place". The inadequacy of a physical house is emphasised. However as a sign of respect for the Omnipotent Creator of the Universe it was fitting for the Temple to be a magnificent building. We should particularly see the need for each of us to recognise the plague of our own heart, ie the sickness that in each of us leads us into sin - and some of us have strong weaknesses in a particular way - we need to know our weaknesses and those parts of our problem for which we must pray and where we need help to overcome these individual weaknesses. The chapter concludes with a blessing and the offering of accompanying sacrifices.Jeremiah chapter 34 contains an appeal to Zedekiah based upon the inevitable fate that the king and his city faced. Zedekiah was told that he must make a truce with Nebuchadnezzar and deal faithfully with the slaves according to the Law of Moses. If they comply with Yahweh's commands then disaster may be averted. But Zedekiah and his princes failed to comply and so would suffer the consequences. Brother C C Walker writes: "Zedekiah and his contemporaries despised the covenants of God and man, and because of this God gave them into the hands of the Babylonians and made "the cities of Judah a desolation without inhabitant".Mark's 8th chapter commences with the feeding of 4,000. The record contains some contrasts with that of the 5,000 - 1) the 5,000 were Jewish, the 4,000 were not; 2) the Apostles had immediate compassion for the 5,000, but no compassion for the others despite watching the multitude enduring for 3 days without any food; 3) the numbers involved differed and taught different messages out of the feedings. This is followed by the rulers asking, but not receiving another sign. A discussion about leaven took place between our Lord and his enemies. The disciples assume that Jesus was rebuking them for forgetting to take food. How illogical this was for he had shown the power to make food. It was about the corrupt influence of wrongful teaching. The chapter continues with the healing of a blind man. This man was cured by stages at Bethsaida, illustrating the problem of perception - we so often like that man see people out of proportion. Jesus next questions his Apostles on people's perception of himself. Then our Lord asks them who they thought him to be. Several answers were given until Peter responded by declaring that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the Living God. All of the Apostles are charged to not reveal this until after our Lord Jesus Christ has been raised from the dead. Once again our Master speaks of his despicable treatment, crucifixion and resurrection the 3rd day. It is easy to become lazy, disinterested, distracted, and unfocused. This parable goes on to speak of a thief who tries to break into a house in the middle of the night. For example, perhaps a certain hobby has become the dominant focus of your free time. Or perhaps responsibilities at work have spilled over into your family time. Or perhaps some painful or even enjoyable experience has had your full attention for some time. Though it is obvious that sinful distractions in life are evil, it might not always be as obvious that there are many other neutral distractions that are a real problem. The problems they can produce are a lack of attentiveness to the will of God and a lack of readiness to engage the will of God the moment He calls.Imagine, for example, that a very important person calls you to ask for a favor. Most likely you would drop all you were doing and respond immediately. But, sadly, when the King of the Universe attempts to speak to us and inspire us to some mission, we can be too distracted to even listen, let alone respond with immediacy and zeal. This is a problem. If, however, a person is continually attentive to the voice of God and responds to His interior promptings as soon as they are received, then Jesus says that this person is truly blessed and that He will “have the servants recline at table, and proceed to wait on them.” In other words, the result of being vigilant in our attentiveness to the inspirations of God is that God Himself will reward us with His service. He will invite us to the table of spiritual rest, peace, joy, and fulfillment. He will serve us His mercy, which will be more than we could ever imagine. Reflect, today, upon the call from God to always be attentive to His voice the instant He speaks. Reflect upon how aware you are of His constant presence in your life and His ongoing communication. Know that if you can form a habit of always listening, then you will never miss out on the grace-filled mission given to you by our Lord. Always listen to Him, seek out His still and gentle voice, and be ready to respond to Him every time He calls. My ever-speaking Lord, You have so much to say and so much to reveal. Please enlighten my mind and strengthen my resolve to always listen to you and respond with all my heart. Your will is perfect and will lead me to a life of the deepest joy and fulfillment.
