Okay, listener, we know we have a slight Obsession with these summer preview episodes, but we also know it's our duty to disclose which films are lurking in the Backrooms. And it seems today is Disclosure Day. Zack, The Breadwinner of Baconsale, is going to guide Joel and Kent through their lists as this Odyssey unfolds. First, we will talk about a few films that should mercilessly be sent to the (Animal) Farm. But which movies will be Masters of the Universe? Don't worry, we won't leave you on a Cliffhanger. Eventually we'll begin a Brand New Day of positivity where we present films that we think will be Super(girl). We'll even include a Scary Movie or two, just for good measure. Press play to hear the full (Toy) Story (5).

One afternoon, Aaron and his wife Cori drive to their favorite café… and it's gone. No sign. No trace. Just a completely different place where it used to be. But days later, they return and everything has changed again. The café is back. The sign is there. As if nothing ever happened. This is a true story about a moment that didn't make sense, a shared memory Aaron and Cori can't explain, and the unsettling possibility that, for a brief second, they may have slipped into another version of their lives. *In Northeast Ohio? An astrophysicist says the universe doesn't pull things down — it accelerates upward toward them. And that's one of the tamer claims in this conversation. Dr. Hakeem Oluseyi joins Brian to dismantle assumptions most physicists won't touch in public. Dr. Hakeem Oluseyi is a NASA researcher, Nova host, and author of Why Do We Exist, a unified framework spanning quantum fields to cosmology — and making a case for why imagination may be the universe's endgame. We cover: -why falling is the wrong way to think about gravity -what Hakeem discovered about heat flow while washing dishes that took decades to confirm -why humans sit at the exact logarithmic center of the universe, the calculation that puts 100,000 multicellular-life candidates in the Milky Way -why we'll likely never find any of them, and the one thing most people confuse for knowledge that Hakeem says is the most dangerous deception in society today. The universe makes life inevitable. It does not make multicellular life inevitable. This week, Danielle is chatting with Veronica Roth, who’s fresh off a major announcement: Divergent. Is. Back. The original trilogy has sold over 35 million copies since it debuted 15 years ago. Veronica has been publishing countless novels and short stories ever since, but now she’s ready to revisit the Divergent universe — with a new twist. “The Sixth Faction” is an alternate universe retelling that dares to ask: what if Tris never left Abnegation, and joined Dauntless? Danielle and Veronica talk about hot tubs, dystopian fiction, and learning to love your own work in all its imperfections. And don’t worry — Tris and Four will still have a meet-cute. “I shall largely speak of mice,” the paper begins “but my thoughts are on man.”So begins a truly extraordinary scientific paper, and an equally extraordinary story.“Death Squared: The Explosive Growth and Demise of a Mouse Population.” was published in 1973 by John Calhoun, and it detailed his increasingly bizarre research into the psychological effects of overcrowding. Over two decades he built a series of ‘rodent utopias', where he could keep a population of rats or mice, meet all their basic food and shelter needs, but mess around with population levels. He wanted to see how they responded to having to live, cheek-by-tiny-jowl, with far more other rats than they were used to. And it wasn't pretty. Social orders melted into chaos, rodents fought indiscriminately, or shut themselves away at the top of the enclosure. Mating orders collapsed, population numbers tanked, and eventually, every single rat was dead. His work came at a prescient time. In the 60s and 70s, the exponentially expanding human population was a hot-button topic, and ‘population panic' was in full swing. Alongside the expansion of cities, creeping urban sprawl, rising city-centre crime rates and 'urban sinks', there grew a concern that human living conditions were about to take an interminable dive. How would we live, with so many of us on earth? Calhoun's work was leapt on by the press and public as a dire prediction of our own coming collapse. His rodent utopias became a subject of great interest among architects and city planners, psychologists and sociologists, and anyone fascinated by the human condition. But has his work been misunderstood?50 years on, what lessons can we take from the work of a ground-breaking but often misunderstood scientist, in the face of a human population now exceeding 8 billion. Emily Knight explores his extraordinary work, its implications for humanity, and the possibility of a human utopia, that might not look anything like you expect.Presented and Produced by Emily Knight in Cardiff
Welcome, gorgeous souls, to Episode 428 of Aligned Abundance! ✨In this episode, I'm sharing a personal story of surrendered manifesting and the powerful shift that changed everything for me. This is the moment I stopped trying to control how things should happen and instead trusted that my needs were already met. I open up about releasing my old, unreliable car - something that had been energetically holding me back and how letting it go created space for something so much more aligned to flow in. This episode is inspired by the teachings from It's Not Your Money by Tosha Silver, and the powerful practice of surrendering your desires to the Universe. In this episode, I'm sharing:The moment I chose to release control and surrender the “how”How letting go of what wasn't aligned opened the door to my dream carThe concept of “your needs are already met” and how to embody itPowerful prayers and intentions that helped me trust the unfoldingIf you've been trying to force something into your life, this episode will gently guide you back into trust, freedom and deep alignment where everything you desire can truly flow to you
In this episode of Messages from the Universe, we explore an ancient and deeply meaningful idea—our relationship with the stars. Not as distant points of light, but as something alive, connected, and intimately woven into who we are. Across cultures, there has long been an understanding that we are not separate from the cosmos—we are part of a living exchange. What if “feeding the stars” isn't symbolic, but a reflection of the energy, consciousness, and frequency we contribute to the greater field every day? This conversation bridges science and spirituality, reminding us that we are literally made of stardust—and that what we think, feel, and embody extends far beyond our physical body. Our emotions, awareness, and presence ripple outward, becoming part of something much larger. In a world that has shifted toward disconnection, this episode invites you to remember your place within the cosmos—not as an observer, but as an active participant. We also reflect on powerful celestial moments in 2026, when the Moon passes near the Pleiades—the Seven Sisters—offering a quiet but profound reminder: even when we are not perfectly aligned, we are still part of the same sky. These moments mirror our own lives, showing us that being in motion, in cycle, and in becoming does not mean we are lost—it means we are evolving. This episode is an invitation to shift from separation back into awareness. To recognize that your energy matters, your presence matters, and you are already part of a greater cosmic relationship. The question is—are you participating in it consciously?Send us Fan MailSupport the showThanks for listening - For questions or comments email Laurie at Laurie@yourlifecore.comInstagram @yourlifecore or Twitter @yourlifecore Facebook https://www.facebook.com/YourLifecoreWebsite www.yourlifecore.com

Do You Struggle with Your “Prayer Life”? Find a Quiet Place for Your Personal Relationship with God and Pray to the Universe's Creator MESSAGE SUMMARY: Do you struggle with your “Prayer Life”, even though you know it is the most important component of a life lived as a Jesus Follower? Abraham provides you with a model for a “Prayer Life” that works. Abraham was an awesome man, and he had things happen in his life that were both important for him and humankind down through the ages as a resultant of his “Prayer Life”. For the development of your own “Prayer Life”, you can learn from Abraham's “Prayer Life”. One of the first things Abraham did, when he went to a new location or was in a new situation, was to build an altar to the Lord and call on the Lord's name in prayer. In Genesis 12:8, Abraham's focus on and the priority given to his “Prayer Life” is described: “From there he {Abraham}moved to the hill country on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to the LORD and called upon the name of the LORD.". Prayer was a priority for Abraham to build a place for God in his life and for his personal relationship with God. A way you can follow Abraham's example is to find an altar, a church, or a quiet place in your life to worship and pray, and to call upon the Lord's name like Abraham. TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, Sabbath rest is truly an unbelievable gift! Thank you that there is nothing I can do to earn your love; it comes without any strings attached. As I close my eyes for these few minutes before you, all I can say is, thank you! In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 133). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! Luke 11:13 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Genesis 12:7-8; Genesis 13:3-18; Genesis 22:9-14; Psalms 79:1-13. The Upper Room Part 1: The Promise of the Spirit (Apostles Anglican Church; Knoxville, TN) MESSAGE SUMMARY: The Upper Room Part 1: The Promise of the Spirit (Apostles Anglican Church; Knoxville, TN) In John:14, Jesus is on His way to the cross, and He is arrested – it is the night of the first Holy Communion and the washing of feet. Jesus and the Apostilles are in Jerusalem, and their activities begin in the “Upper Room” and move to the Garden of Gethsemane. In this text, Jesus promises us the Holy Spirit; and He tells how the Holy Spirit will work in our lives. Also, Jesus reminded the Apostilles of His prior teachings and that they should “let not your heart be troubled”. In John 14:23, 26: Jesus is telling the Apostilles about the Holy Spiritand the Holy Spirit's role: “Jesus answered him, ‘If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him . . . But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.'". Subsequently, Jesus tells the Apostilles that they “must be born again” of the Spirit to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. After twenty-one centuries, how should we consider the Holy Spirit as followers of Jesus? We should consider that: 1) the Holy Spirit is very important for us as we follow Jesus because, like God, we are triune beings – body, soul, and spirit -- with our worship and communication with God conducted through our spirit enabling us to be “filled with the Holy Spirit”; 2) the Holy Spirit brings the presence of the Father and the Son to be both with us and in us; 3) the Holy Spirit helps us to live our Christian life – our “helper”; 4) the Holy Spirit is our teacher to teach us to understand the Bible, how to pray and to acquire the other knowledge that we need to follow Jesus; and 5) while we may want to be filled with the Holy Spirit and our “pilot light is lit”, our “furnace is not engaged” to bring the Holy Spirit into our lives. It is one thing to know Jesus in our lives, but it is another thing to love and obey Jesus in our lives. In other words, are you willing to let go of controlling your life and turn your life's control over to the Holy Spirit – God's will not your will be done? God does not force His will on you. You must seek Jesus to follow Him, and you must follow Jesus “in truth and in {Holy}Spirit”. Therefore, the question becomes not “do you have the Holy Spirit”, but “does the Holy Spirit have you”? TODAY'S PRAYER: Keeping the Sabbath, Lord, will require a lot of changes in the way I am living life. Teach me, Lord, how to take the next step with this in a way that fits my unique personality and situation. Help me to trust you with all that will remain unfinished and to enjoy my humble place in your very large world. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 129). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. Hey scummers!Pull up a stool, mind the sump spill under your boots, and keep one eye on your drink, because the lads are diving back into the weird and wild corners of the 41st millennium and more minor xenos.Much to Nathan's visible, audible, and spiritual dismay. We're talking about the slippery, shadow-haunting menace of the Laxotl. These amphibious horrors that would thrive in the damp, forgotten arteries of the underhive. These things aren't just content to lurk in the dark; they own it. With slick, scaled bodies built for squeezing through pipes and flooded tunnels, the Laxotl move like living oil spills, striking from places no sane ganger would ever think to check. These xenos mercenaries aren't just beasts either, there's a cruel, alien cunning behind those cold eyes, coordinating ambushes and dragging unlucky souls into the depths without a sound. If you hear something slithering in the walls? Too late. It's already mapped your escape routes. And then there's the ever-delightful Ur-Ghul.Everyone's favourite eyeless nightmare, and a staple of bad decisions across Commorragh and beyond. These pale, sinewy predators don't need sight when they've got senses sharp enough to track a heartbeat through ferrocrete. Lightning fast and disturbingly quiet, an Ur-Ghul is all claws and teeth, reducing its prey to scraps before the brain even catches up to what's happening. Often kept as “pets” by those with more cruelty than sense, they're about as loyal as a hive scummer with a full ammo cache. The moment control slips, they go right back to what they do best: hunting anything warm, moving, and unfortunate enough to be nearby.Expect the usual: half-remembered lore, an insurance selling gecko with more one liners than sense, and at least one moment where someone (it's Nathan) asks if we can please, please just talk about literally anything else.We won't.So lock your hab doors, check your corners, and join us as we once again prove that in the underhive and the galaxy beyond, there's always something worse lurking just out of sight.Catch you in the sump, scummers. If you have questions, complaints, corrections or suggestions, email us at Underhivelorekeepers@gmail.com. Bonus Episode of "Inside Schizophrenia" podcast from Healthline Media. “Paranoid schizophrenic admits to attacking dog walker.” When we watch a horror movie, we know the “madman” on screen is a work of fiction. But when the nightly news leads with a diagnosis to explain a tragedy, the fear it creates is very real — and often permanent. Why does the media lead with schizophrenia only when the story involves violence, yet remain silent when it comes to stories of recovery, hope, and humanity? In this hard-hitting episode, host Rachel Star Withers (who lives with schizophrenia) explores the Lead with Fear phenomenon — the dangerous journalistic trend of linking a diagnosis to a crime before the facts are even in — and why schizophrenia seems to have the worst PR team in the world. Later in the show, we sit down with two media heavyweights who are using their platforms to overhaul how the world views mental health.: Janet Yang, an Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning producer and former President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Frank Kosa, an Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker for National Geographic, the History Channel, and A&E. Listener Take-A-Ways: why "paranoid schizophrenia" is an obsolete clinical term that journalists refuse to let go of the startling statistic that fewer than 20% of news stories about schizophrenia include themes of recovery practical ways you can hold news outlets accountable and promote stories of hope Our guest, Frank Kosa, is an award-winning documentary producer-writer-director, and a journalist. He produced National Geographic's “The Story of God with Morgan Freeman,” wrote the inaugural season of Travel Channel's hit show “Booze Traveler,” produced the award-winning “The Revolutionary War,” a mini-series for A&E, “Christianity: The Second Millennium” and multiple shows of TV's most engaging documentary series including “Life Without People,” “The Universe,” and “Game Changers.” His shows have aired on The Science Channel, The History Channel, Discovery, A&E, TLC, Animal Planet, The Travel Channel, The Weather Channel, Lifetime, Bloomberg TV, HGTV, and National Geographic. Listen Now to 005_WTFuture Watch 005 WTFuture The “What the Future” podcast crew dives straight into the “spaghetti brain” chaos of setting up their new home studio equipment before launching into a whirlwind of mind-bending technological leaps. They explore how “neuro-symbolic AI” is finally teaching robots to break problems down logically like humans do, which slashes energy consumption a hundredfold while significantly boosting accuracy. So, just maybe, the AI’s won’t need nearly so much energy to run.. The hosts also blast off to the Moon, highlighting how having actual human eyeballs on the Artemis mission debunked flat orbital data to reveal bizarre magnetic “suntan” anomalies like Reiner Gamma. Back on Earth, they marvel at Ligand Forge, a biotech AI that pumps out targeted drug candidates tens of thousands of times faster than older models, promising a future of personalized “Star Trek replicators” for medicine and groundbreaking CAR-T therapies that simply reboot the human immune system. However, the absolute showstopper of the episode is the terrifying yet thrilling arrival of Mythos AI, an Anthropic system so ridiculously powerful it can uncover vulnerabilities and hack every computer operating system on the planet in mere minutes. Its existence has triggered a desperate six-month global cyber-sprint where tech giants like Microsoft are actually utilizing Mythos itself to patch thousands of zero-day vulnerabilities before adversaries can use similar super-intelligence to drain the global banking system of trillions. Despite these apocalyptic stakes and the wild prediction that AI agents will soon replace 99% of white-collar jobs, the hosts remain incredibly optimistic. They argue that we are rapidly hurtling toward a society of “universal abundant income,” where personal AI CEOs will run millions of highly profitable one-person companies while we sleep, finally freeing humanity from a scarcity mindset so we can just enjoy life and ponder the greater universe. Or something like that..Enjoy!
Brandon Mull was a guest on this podcast a few years ago in episode #251. We met when he was the Toastmaster at The Life, the Universe, and Everything Conference, after which he sent me a copy of “Fablehaven,” which became the topic of our first interview. This interview is about his newest release, “Guardians: Forbidden Mountain,” an epic adventure fantasy that can be enjoyed by YA as well as adult readers. He normally takes 6 months to write a novel, but this one took 2 ½ years due to the story's depth—and the fact that it is the first of a three-novel series. There are two hero journeys that gradually weave into each other. Mako Boughbreaker is along one path, and Arden is on the other side of the empire, walking her path. The book deftly addresses people's spirituality while weaving in the idea that one does have the choice to do the right thing—and that one's actions have consequences, good or bad —which is important. Possibly even more so these days. Learn more at https://brandonmull.com/

José provided a detailed summary of the plot, describing the main character Gavin as an amoral hustler who discovers a golem-like creature in Reynolds' apartment. The discussion explored themes of aging, retirement, and superficiality, with Ryan suggesting the story represents how younger people replace older professionals in various fields. The group analyzed key moments in the story, including Gavin's discovery of the statue in Reynolds' bathtub and the creature's apparent attraction to Gavin's appearance. The conversation concluded with reflections on Gavin's character as a young, attractive but lost soul. Gavin's Shadow Statue Confrontation The group discussed a story involving Gavin, who becomes entangled with a pimp named Pretorius after a misunderstanding about a crime committed against one of Pretorius's sex workers. Gavin tries to escape but is caught and attacked with a knife, leading to a confrontation with a shadowy statue that appears to be coming to his aid. The statue, which seems connected to Gavin on a psychic level, transforms from a wooden statue to a more human form and helps defend him, eventually revealing a connection to Gavin's own shadow self. The discussion touched on various themes including doppelgängers, golems, and depression, with the statue potentially representing Gavin's inner demons or depression manifesting physically. Doppelganger Story Plot Discussion The group discussed a story involving a doppelganger that takes over a person's life, with José explaining key plot points about how the doppelganger physically mirrors the original person's injuries and experiences. They explored the character's situation after murdering Pretorius and the gang, including his decision not to return home due to police involvement and his limited resources. The discussion also covered the character's visit to Reynolds, who provided limited explanations about the creature's origins and requirements for activation, though Reynolds himself had become isolated and deteriorated since encountering the entity. Gavin's Doppelganger Character Analysis The group discussed a character named Gavin who creates a doppelganger that leads an independent life after copying him. They analyzed how Gavin loses his will to live as his clone becomes more human and powerful, with José comparing this to depression and Ryan drawing parallels to retirement. The discussion concluded with details about Gavin waking up to find his clone had been shot, highlighting the tragic consequences of losing one's purpose and identity. Graphic Novel Character Analysis The group discussed a graphic novel, focusing on a character who takes on others' lives and experiences. They explored themes of identity, grief, and the burden of life, particularly through the story of Gavin and his doppelganger. José highlighted the significance of the doppelganger's wound and its healing process, while the group discussed the character's potential curse and origins. They also noted the contrast between Gavin's emotional state and the doppelganger's ability to emote and connect with life. Clive Barker's Doppelganger Story Discussion The group discussed Clive Barker's story about a doppelganger, exploring its themes of grief, identity, and what makes someone human. They considered the story's potential as an arthouse film, noting its low-budget production possibilities and discussing how to adapt the interior monologue elements for the screen. The conversation included insights about Barker's own experiences that may have influenced the story, and they examined the connection between the doppelganger and Gavin's character, speculating about how the story might end. Clive Barker Rights Discussion The group discussed Clive Barker's rights to his works, particularly regarding the Books of Blood series and Hellraiser. They noted that rights typically revert to authors unless new adaptations are created, and discussed how rights complications can arise when multiple adaptations attempt to use the same material. The conversation concluded with plans to move on to Volume 4 of the Books of Blood, specifically discussing the story "The Body Politic" and mentioning a Christopher Lloyd adaptation titled "The Inhuman Condition." Hellraiser Adaptations and Projects The group discussed various Hellraiser adaptations and related projects. They talked about a 2016 screenplay for "In the Flesh" by Mick Garris and Clive Barker, and expressed hope for an upcoming TV show by Brad Fuller. The conversation also covered a Hellraiser comic book collection by Boom Studios, which includes three volumes with a total of over 1,500 pages, though one participant had to cancel their pre-order due to the high cost of $200. The discussion concluded with a brief mention of Monstrous Press's "Kolchak Meets the Monsters" crossover collection and a potential deal for 90s Hellraiser Epic comics. Marvel Hellraiser Comics Discussion The group discussed Marvel Hellraiser comics, including their completeness and value, with José noting that buyers should be aware of what they're purchasing. They planned their next content, deciding to focus on Pinhead sketches and paintings rather than voting on a new movie, with José suggesting they could return to voting after this topic. The discussion concluded with gratitude to Patreon donors and a nostalgic conversation about vintage toys from the 1980s and 1990s, including Ewok movies, Universal Monsters playsets, and various action figures. Toys Discussion The group discussed childhood toys, including She-Ra dolls, Transformers, and Battlestar Galactica figures. José shared details about a new Masters of the Universe movie trailer featuring Jared Leto as Skeletor.

Feeling unseen, overlooked, or forgotten? Genesis 16:13 reveals a powerful truth—God is El Roi, “the God who sees me”—reminding us that our deepest need to be known and valued is fully met in Him. In a world that constantly pushes us to chase recognition, validation, and visibility, Scripture redirects our focus to a God who already sees every detail of our lives. Hagar’s story shows us that even in moments of isolation, pain, and injustice, God is present and attentive. He sees what others miss. He cares when others overlook. Instead of striving to be noticed by people who cannot truly fulfill us, we’re invited to rest in the steady, personal, and unchanging attention of our Creator. When we anchor our identity in being seen by God, we find lasting security, purpose, and peace. Highlights The desire to be seen and valued is part of being human God reveals Himself as El Roi—the God who sees you personally Hagar’s story shows God’s care in moments of isolation and pain You don’t have to chase validation—God already sees and values you God knows every detail of your life, down to the smallest things True identity is found in being known by God, not others Resting in God’s attention brings peace and security Do you want to listen ad-free? She said, “You are the God who sees me.” She also said, “Have I truly seen the One who sees me?” —Genesis 16:13 NLT Recently, I read a news story headline that said 100 people gathered to be in a music video. They wanted to be seen. Especially here in the USA, there is a fascination with being an extra in a movie or becoming a professional actor and famous movie star. People often say they do this because they want to make an impact, be seen, be heard, be noticed, and be remembered. This made me think. Why do we rush to be seen by people on television, in music videos, at big events, and on social media? Perhaps it is because, deep inside, every human has a need to be seen. We want to know that we matter. We want to be acknowledged, recognized, and celebrated. This is a totally normal part of our human experience, but is it healthy if we’re chasing after fame more than seeking God? While there may not be anything wrong with wanting to be seen and remembered by the people in our world, I would like to encourage you with this timeless truth: You are seen by God. He is the Creator of the universe and all the galaxies. There is a popular inspirational quote that says: “How cool is it that the same God who created mountains, oceans, and galaxies looked at you and thought the world needed one of you, too.” God loves you. He knows you. He sees you. In a world where we are challenged to prove that we matter, we need to remember our Creator loves us endlessly. We matter to Him. The Bible says God knew us before we were born (Jeremiah 1:5). It also says God knit us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). This means God sees us as no one else can. He created humankind with deep care and attention to detail. The Bible says all the hairs on our head are numbered (Luke 12:7). If you have a lot of hair on your head, then you may see the significance of this statement on a deeper level. God sees everything you go through during your life here on Earth, and He will intervene where needed, as He did for Hagar. She was the servant of Abraham and Sarah. They feared God but were childless well into what we would call their golden years. When God promised them that they would have a son, they didn’t believe Him because of their old age and the fact that Sarah was past her childbearing years. Therefore, after waiting on God for a while, Sarah became impatient and decided with her husband to take the matter into their own hands by making Hagar pregnant by Abraham. After Hagar knew she was with child, Sarah became jealous and mistreated Hagar. Hagar took her baby and ran into the wilderness to escape all the abuse. It was there while she wept alone in deep despair that God showed up and comforted Hagar. At the end of this divine encounter, Hagar called God “El Roi,” which means “The God Who Sees.” The God who saw Hagar in her distress and despair sees us, too. Nothing we go through is unnoticed by Him. When we feel like we have no one else to turn to, we can turn to our Savior (Jesus Christ). The Bible says He will be with us unto the end of the world (Matthew 28:20) because He loves us. Why clamor to shake hands with our favorite actors, celebrities, politicians, royalty, wealthy people, and influencers who cannot save us…when we have the full attention of the One who believes we are worth dying for (John 3:16)? The Bible says in Psalm 146:3-4 (NIV), “Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.” Only God can save us. And He will never die. In closing, I would like to encourage you to seek God first if you have not already. Know that your value is priceless to Him. We don’t have to clamor to be close to Him, heard by Him, and seen by Him. He is already near us and sees us clearly. When God looks at us, He doesn’t see an overwhelming crowd of 8.3 billion people alive here on Earth. He sees each one of us as if we are the only person on this planet, and He gives us personalized attention with great care and compassion. He pays attention to detail. And as our Master Teacher, He differentiates instruction to meet each of our needs uniquely. While there may not be anything wrong with wanting to be seen for the right reasons and make an impact on this world, I encourage you to always remember that you are already seen, cherished, and treasured by the Eternal King. And that truth is forever. Listen to these two songs of reflection listed below to remind you how God sees you and loves you. Song of Reflection #1: “The God Who Sees” by Nicole C. Mullen. Have you been feeling emotionally drained, because so many people are wanting your help? They want to talk about their life and problems or actually hope you can do something to improve their situation. The Problem with Helping For many spiritually aware women, you are also empathic, which means you can feel a person's distress. That adds to the emotional exhaustion. You care deeply, you want to listen and support the people in your life, but where does it end? You need time for your own life and self-care. Here's the shift most people miss. You don't have to stop helping to stop the emotional drain. You simply need a new way to handle your energy while you care. In this post, you'll discover two simple, magical practices that help you release what isn't yours and support others without losing yourself in the process. They're easy, surprisingly powerful, and they can change how your energy flows pretty quickly. I came across these practices in the Akashic Reading podcast with host Teri Uktena, and want to give her full credit for these powerful methods. I’ve add a bit of my own thoughts as well. Why You're Feeling Emotionally Drained It's not that you're too sensitive or doing anything wrong. The truth is, you're just holding more than you were ever meant to carry. When you're intuitive or empathic, people naturally bring things to you. Their problems, their emotions, their confusion. And because you can feel it, you often do feel responsible for it. That's where the drain begins. You worry, think about them and their problems, wonder perhaps how to fix things. Sometimes you feel like you should do more. Without realizing it, you've been carrying energy that was never yours to begin with. The “Not My Problem” Jar This is one of those practices that seems almost too simple, but it really works. In this case, you don't need to do anything more, but choose to let go. The first step is to identify the person and problem where you have to draw the line, because the truth is, it's just not your problem. Next, take a jar and label it something that makes you smile, like Not My Problem. When someone brings you an issue that you can't, or shouldn't, take on, write it down on a small piece of paper. Fold it up like you're sealing it closed and drop it into the jar. That small act sends a clear message to your mind, your energy, and the Universe which is: this is not mine problem. You're not being dismissive but setting a clear boundary. That clarity is what frees you from feeling emotionally drained in the first place. The Helping Bowl There are also moments when you genuinely want to help. You care. You're invested. But you don't want to walk away feeling depleted again. This is where the Helping Bowl comes in. Find a bowl you love and fill it with stones, glass beads, or crystals. Each one becomes a place to hold your intention instead of your body holding the energy. When someone needs support, take a moment to focus on them. Imagine things working out. Feel a sense of resolution, even just a little. Then place a stone in the bowl. You've done something real and offered support. But you haven't taken it on as your own. It's a small but important shift, that prevents the weight of the world from resting on your shoulders and feeling emotionally drained. How These Practices Impact Your Energy These two techniques are more than symbolic – they are energetic. Here's what you are accomplishing by using either method: Creating a boundary without shutting down your heart Moving energy out of your body and into something physical Choosing what you carry and what you don't Can you see how wonderfully these steps will help reduce the energetic and emotional drain on you? Instead of absorbing everything around you, you relate to all the requests for listening, advice, or help differently. You'll experience a little more space and ease. Plus, a lot more self-trust about what is right for you. Key Takeaways Feeling emotionally drained isn't a personal flaw, it's a sign you're carrying too much that isn't yours You don't have to stop helping others to protect your energy Simple physical practices can help you release and redirect emotional weight Boundaries can feel gentle and supportive, not harsh or rigid Your energy becomes lighter when you consciously choose what to hold A Better Way to Care You don't have to close your heart or stop helping to feel better. And this doesn’t mean you’re someone who doesn't care. Instead, you’re caring and helping in a way that doesn't deplete your energy. You might still listen to people’s problems or offer help, but no longer to the extent that it drags you down. This is the kind of practical magic that's so easy to do and effective as well. Just a jar, a bowl, and a conscious decision to stop carrying everyone else's problems. Once you start, you'll notice something shift within. You'll feel lighter, clearer, have more energy and feel more like yourself again. From this place, everything you offer is tempered to help, but manage your own energy at the same time. That’s good self care! This is how you can stay centered in your own life and energized for what you need to do, while helping and caring about the people in your life. His print journalism has appeared in The LA Times, USA Today, Sacramento Bee, The Christian Science Monitor, and numerous magazines. He has also worked for films and TV shows produced by Universal, Warner Bros., & Sony. He is Emmy-nominated, has won a Cable Ace and other awards, and strives to tell stories that deeply connect with audiences. Our guest, Janet Yang, is an Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning Hollywood producer, former President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and has been named one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Hollywood” by the Hollywood Reporter. Yang's extensive film and television credits include “The Joy Luck Club,” “The People vs. Larry Flynt,” “The Weight of Water,” “Shanghai Calling,” “High Crimes,” “Zero Effect,” and “Over the Moon.” Yang began her career by running the first distribution company to market Chinese films into North America. She also brokered the reintroduction of American studio films to the Chinese marketplace after a decades-long hiatus. This, in turn, led to joining Steven Spielberg on the historic production of “Empire of the Sun.” This was followed by long-term partnership with multiple Academy-Award winning writer/director, Oliver Stone. Our host, Rachel Star Withers, (Link: www.rachelstarlive.com) is an entertainer, international speaker, video producer, and schizophrenic. She has appeared on MTV's Ridiculousness, TruTV, NBC's America's Got Talent, Marvel's Black Panther, TUBI's #shockfight, Goliath: Playing with Reality, and is the host of the HealthLine podcast “Inside Schizophrenia”. She grew up seeing monsters, hearing people in the walls, and having intense urges to hurt herself. Rachel creates videos documenting her schizophrenia, ways to manage, and letting others like her know they are not alone and can still live an amazing life. She has created a kid's mental health comic line, The Adventures of ____. Life can feel like wandering in a wilderness: moments of anxiety, parenting and marriage struggles, feeling a lack of purpose, dealing with disappointment, and more. But having a reliable compass can make all the difference because it offers guidance on where to go and how to get there safely. In this episode John Tinnin and Austin Conner launch our new series, 10 Keys to the Universe, where we'll be unpacking the Ten Commandments and exploring how they function as a compass for navigating the unpredictable and painful wilderness of life. We often dismiss the Ten Commandments as ancient religious rules that are burdensome and designed to ruin our happiness. So the benefits of the commandments might surprise you: protection, freedom, the restraining of sin, and a clear window into God's heart. Instead of thinking "I have to follow the commandments" this conversation highlights a different perspective: "I get to follow the commandments". This shifts your heart from following the commandments as a legal obligation to earn God's favor, to a willing response of being deeply loved and cared for by your Creator. As we begin this series, we hope the commandments become less of a set of rules hanging over your head and more of a trusted compass that leads you to hopeful blessings in your life. We usually begin the study of physics with a discussion of motion, not because it is easy, or because the modern understanding of motion began with Galileo hundreds of years ago. Rather, Galileo's groundbreaking work provides a paradigm to understand how physics is done today. Extracting out the fundamental essence of motion from all the distractions associated with what turn out to be irrelevant complexities was a monumental intellectual leap for humankind—a leap we often take for granted. Without the leap, for example, Newton could never have made his profound discoveries about the relationship between force and movement, nor his discovery of the Universal Law of Gravitation. But too often we treat these remarkable achievements as something belonging in antiquity.. as if we have moved far beyond them in every way. Nothing could be further from the truth. Applying the very same ideas that Galileo and Newton developed leads us to the cusp of modern physics: the discovery of the dominant mass in the Universe, a vast invisible sea of dark matter. In this episode, we travel over 450 years of physics, from Galileo, to the threshold of our understanding of the cosmos today. Hang onto your hats. I'm also pleased to share a quick PSA.
