Dr. Naomi throws a bone to the single folks still braving the dating hellscape, while the hosts unpack our deeply inconvenient need for human connection as friendships shift, families evolve, and everyone gets weird. A toddler mom is caught off-guard when a new mom friend scolds her kid and needs advice on how to address it without burning the playgroup to the ground. This week's Betchicist comes from a proud member of the Clean Plate Club who's endlessly roasted by in-laws that abandon half-eaten meals and act like leftovers are a moral failure. After one too many run-ins with physical anxiety (yes, the dreaded gurgling stomach), a very nervous Betch needs an intention to calm the fear of having to run to the bathroom at work. Meanwhile, a generous mom is triggered when her offer of free baby clothes somehow turns into a list of demands, and a girlfriend wonders if her boyfriend's family buying her the wrong size clothes is an honest mistake—or a deeply passive-aggressive cry for help. Episode 98 Happy New Year friends! I am delighted to be starting a new year with you on the podcast and I already have so many great things in store for us. We're starting today with my guest, Dr. Kelly Cagel. Dr. Kelly is all about helping families navigate life with kids who interact with the world differently through things like ADHD.  She came to the US from Brazil as a little girl, knowing no English and that experience made her want to help kids who are navigating school and growing up in the midst of challenges, just like she did. If you are feeling frustrated or discouraged about your kid who always wants to move or be with his friends, let this episode be the one that encourages you to see those things as a benefit and not a detriment. We've all been in that place of discouragement, but we don't have to stay there. Dr Kelly has tons of resources for you to help you with all this and more. Use the links below to find her! Also, as we start this new year, can I ask a favor of you? Will you leave a review of this podcast? It's one of the best ways for the podcast to grow. Leave one here. Secondly, if you've read it, can you leave a review of my book, It's Time to Talk to Your Kids About Porn?  Thousands of you have read the book, but most of us don't bother to leave reviews. But they are wildly important to the success of a book because they help put the book in front of more people. So please, will you take a moment and leave a couple of reviews for me?  Thanks friends! Determining the Date of the Bar-Misva of a Child Born on Rosh Hodesh Kislev

Daily Halacha Podcast - Daily Halacha By Rabbi Eli J. Mansour

Play Episode Listen Later Jan 6, 2026

Months in the Jewish calendar consist of either 29 or 30 days. When a month continues for 30 days, two days of Rosh Hodesh are observed – on the 30 th day of the month, and on the first day of the next month. Most months are consistent, having the same number of days each year. There are, however, a small number of months that fluctuate, as they sometimes have 29 days and sometimes 30. One such month is Heshvan. If a boy was born on the 30 th of Heshvan in a year when it had 30 days, and Heshvan in the year of his Bar-Misva has only 29 days, then he becomes a Bar-Misva on the first day of Kislev. One might have thought that we define this boy's birthday as the day prior to the first of Kislev, such that he becomes a Bar-Misva on the 29 th of Heshvan. But this is not the case. We instead view him as having been born on Rosh Hodesh Kislev, and so he becomes Bar-Misva on the only day of Rosh Hodesh Kislev in the year of his Bar-Misva – namely, the first of Kislev. The Poskim dispute the Halacha in the reverse case, when a boy was born on Rosh Hodesh Kislev in a year when Heshvan had only 29 days, and there are two days of Rosh Hodesh Kislev in the year of his Bar-Misva. The Misha Berura and the Kaf Ha'haim (Rav Yaakob Haim Sofer, Baghdad-Israel, 1870-1939) approvingly cite the view of the Bayit Hadash (Rav Yoel Sirkis, Poland, 1561-1640) that the boy in this case becomes a Bar-Misva on 30 Heshvan, the first day of Rosh Hodesh. According to this opinion, we view the boy as having been born on the day after the 29 th of Heshvan, and thus in a year when Heshvan extends for 30 days, his birthday is the 30 th of Heshvan. Rav Meir Mazuz (1945-2025), however, disagreed. In his view, since the boy was born on the first of Kislev, this date is his birthday, and so he becomes Bar-Misva on this date irrespective of how many days the previous month had. Even if there are two days of Rosh Hodesh in the year of his Bar-Misva, he does not become a Bar-Misva until the date of his birth – the first of Kislev. Hacham David Yosef, in Halacha Berura, ruled that the boy in this case should observe the stringencies of both opinions – meaning, he should ensure to observe all the Misvot already on the 30 th of Heshvan, but should not be counted toward a Minyan until the first of Kislev. Summary: If a boy was born on the 30 th of Heshvan in a year when Heshvan had 30 days, and Heshvan in the year of his Bar-Misva has only 29 days, he becomes a Bar-Misva on the first of Kislev. If he was born on Rosh Hodesh Kislev in a year when Heshvan had only 29 days, and there was thus only one day of Rosh Hodesh, but Heshvan in the year of his Bar-Misva has 30 days, it is unclear when he becomes a Bar-Misva. Therefore, he should ensure to observe all the Misvot already on the 30 th of Heshvan, but should not be counted toward a Minyan until the first of Kislev.

In this episode, Sharlee Dixon sits down with Chris Yadon, Managing Director of Saprea, a nonprofit dedicated to liberating individuals and society from child sexual abuse and its lasting impacts through healing and prevention. As Saprea's first employee, Chris helped launch the organization in 2015 and now leads its mission to drive meaningful, large-scale social change around one of society's most difficult and urgent issues. Kamille learned at a young age that not many businesses were interested in hiring a visually impaired employee. Oh yes, she presented very well on the phone with prospective employers, but when they saw her in person, the rejection came fast.  She didn't even get a chance to prove them wrong.Again, Jackie her mom, didn't treat her blind daughter any differently than her other children. She had to learn the ways of the world at a very young age. Kamille would be the stronger for it. Kamille shared that her mother "NEVER let me use the word "can't," and that she taught her daughter "to advocate for herself."Kamille Richardson was born blind but never lacked a vision for a bright future. An author, motivational speaker, and founder of iSee Technologies, Inc., she has overcome various obstacles to build a life and career she loves. Not only is she an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, but she's constantly breaking corporate norms, shattering expectations, and reminding companies that diversity fuels business growth. Here's how Richardson fought against the odds to build her own company—and create more space for inclusion in some of the world's top companies.Raised to Believe in HerselfFrom a young age, Richardson knew she was different—but was raised not to see her disability as a weakness. “My mother never let me use the word ‘can't,'” Richardson recalls. Because her mother taught her to advocate for herself, growing up blind never deterred her dreams.“I was allowed to dream big,” she shares. “I always knew, even when I was younger, that I was going to overcome barriers in the best way I knew how. It wasn't always easy, of course, but I was determined.”Showing Up AuthenticallyWhen Richardson started applying for jobs, she received numerous interview invitations. However, a pattern quickly emerged.“They would see me, and they'd see that white cane in my hand—and the temperature would drop about 20 degrees,” she shares.*She looked great on paper, but once employers realized she was blind, their perception shifted.“Suddenly that warm greeting I got earlier became a cold conversation, and it always ended with the ‘Don't call us, we'll call you,'” she says. “The calls and emails never came.”Tired of rejection, she decided to say yes to herself. “I knew I had the power to hire me,” Richardson explains.*Her determination only grew as she stepped into the business world as a blind, Black entrepreneurial woman.*At first, she believed that fitting into corporate norms was the only way to succeed. “I thought I had to be very corporate, buttoned-up, and wear my power suit,” she admits. “But that's not me. When I tried to show up like that—stiff and stuffy—I wasn't comfortable in my own skin, and the doors still weren't opening.”Only when Richardson embraced her true self did things change.“I showed up with my big curly hair, my big earrings, and my colorful outfits—that's when people started seeing my personality first,” she shares.Building Her Own EmpireA self-described tech-savvy individual, Richardson adapted quickly to e-readers when the iPhone first launched them. Soon after, she founded iSee Technologies with the goal of helping her visually impaired and blind peers regain independence—particularly through employment. But her clients often faced the same rejections she once did.“I said to myself, ‘I need to evolve iSee Technologies to become part of the solution,'” Richardson says. “I decided to use my voice and my platform to go in and teach companies how to be more inclusive in their hiring and workplace culture—so when they see disability, they don't immediately reject it.”Today, iSee Technologies is a thriving business that offers people development consulting, accessibility services, and workforce wellness training to companies and government agencies. Their client list includes The Walt Disney Company, BASF, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Kraft, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.Inclusion Is Good for BusinessHiring people from diverse backgrounds and abilities enhances innovation and team performance.“The biggest misconception is that accommodations for people with disabilities are expensive,” Richardson explains. “But 59% of accommodations cost nothing at all—and the other 41% cost less than $500.”Many businesses fail to see the value of disabled employees simply because they don't understand it.“We are some of the most creative and innovative team members you'll ever have,” she says. “We live in a world not designed for us, so we have to be the ultimate problem solvers.”-One of iSee Technologies' corporate clients saw this potential and hired Richardson to conduct training to empower their teams to create more accessible environments. As a result, employees felt more validated and respected—and more committed to their work.“And of course, when you have more engaged employees, that's definitely going to help your bottom line.”  7) Social Media Links/Website:FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/kamille.richardson.9INSTAGRAM: @kamillealia,https://www.instagram.com/kamillealia/LINKEDIN: https://www.linkedin.com/in/livewithvision/TIKTOK: https://www.tiktok.com/@lakilaj?lang=en  OTHER: http://www.kamillerichardson.com/WEBSITE: https://www.iseetechinc.com/WEBSITE: https://kamillerichardson.com/ "Should Have Listened To My Mother" is an ongoing conversation about mothers/female role models and the roles they play in our lives. How to Talk About Scores (Without Giving Your Child Performance Anxiety)

Scores feel important in judged sports. They're everywhere. On scoreboards, on social media, and in post-meet conversations. But the way we talk about scores can quietly shape how an athlete feels about themselves.I see this all the time when I work with teams. After a meet, I ask athletes what they're most proud of. At first, they're ready to answer. Then I say they can't talk about scores or places. Suddenly, it's hard for them to think of anything. That's how early athletes learn to measure their experience by outcomes they don't control. The problem is that scores start to feel like proof. Proof that the work was worth it. Proof that the money, time, and effort mattered. When the score isn't what they hoped for, many athletes walk away feeling like they failed, even if they competed well.I once heard a story about a gymnast with intense performance anxiety. She had been falling meet after meet. Then one day, she stayed on every event. For the first time, she hit four for four. She was proud just to get through the meet. The first thing her mom said was, “Why am I paying so much money for you to get 14th place?”In moments like that, kids don't just hear disappointment about results. They hear something about their worth. They learn that effort only counts if the number is good. And that belief is a powerful driver of performance anxiety. That's why I tell parents something that can feel uncomfortable at first: don't talk to your kid about scores. That's not your role. Your job isn't to help them gain tenths. Your job is to support what they actually control.Praise resilience. Praise effort. Praise how they bounce back, stay focused, and keep showing up. Notice progress compared to their last meet, not someone else's podium finish. Those messages help athletes feel safe to compete, learn, and grow.In this episode of the PerformHappy Podcast, I talk about how to talk about scores in a way that protects your child's confidence and helps reduce performance anxiety.Learn exactly what to say and do to guide your athlete through a mental block with my new book "Parenting Through Mental Blocks" Order your copy today: https://a.co/d/g990BurFollow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/complete_performance/ Join my FaceBook page: https://www.facebook.com/completeperformancecoaching/ Check out my website: https://completeperformancecoaching.com/Write to me! Ep. 79 As Child Abuse Detective Kristen King says in this episode, “If you haven't cried in child abuse, you probably haven't been there long enough or you're lying.” In the years I've interviewed law enforcement, officers have always said that incidents with kids are the hardest. I wanted to shine a light on those that handle these cases on a daily basis. Kristen has been with Dallas PD for 12 years. We review her career and talk about her not so predictable path to choosing law enforcement, some memorable calls from patrol and making the move to Child Abuse, something she said she knew she wanted to do during training. As she says, when it comes to crimes involving children – children are always going to be the victims, and she wants to help give them a voice. She cites the hard work of a multidisciplinary team of experts, agencies and organizations that make this possible. Kristen explains what constitutes child abuse, the calls she has responded to and the cases she has handled as well as the importance of weighing all the variables when determining if an incident was a crime, an accident, or just bad parenting. Kristen shares the emotional toll this work can take and why wellness matters — a topic that connects to Ep. 77 in which I interviewed her husband, Dallas Police Officer Joe King, head of the department's wellness unit and host of the podcast ATO: Bridging the Divide.A big part of Kristen's passion is educating families on various topics to keep their kids safe. For example, why teaching “Stranger Danger” falls short because most assaults on children are committed by someone known to the child. She talks about what parents should teach their kids and how to recognize warning signs. We also cover Kristen's efforts to educate families on the importance of properly storing firearms in the home to prevent injuries and fatalities due to a child's access to unsecured weapons which can lead to the charge known as "Making a Firearm Accessible to a Child." And Kristen launched a campaign for which she helped raise funding called “Tiny Breaths Safe Sleep” about safe sleeping habits for babies – life saving tips that many parents may be unaware of.This is a powerful episode on the work being done every day to protect our children.Thank you, Kristen! You can find Kristen on LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/kristen-king10671/Find me on my social or email me your thoughts:Instagram: on_being_a_police_officerFacebook: On Being a Police Officer Abby@Ellsworthproductions.comwww.onbeingapoliceofficer.com©Abby Ellsworth. Andrew Child is the co-author of the Jack Reacher series, one of the most successful and recognizable modern thriller franchises in the world. Working alongside his brother Lee Child, Andrew became responsible for continuing and evolving a character known for discipline, restraint, moral clarity, and decisive action. Before joining the Reacher universe, Andrew spent years developing his own voice as a novelist and journalist, with a background that shaped his approach to structure, clarity, and storytelling. Stepping into an already iconic series required understanding not just the character, but the values and principles that made Jack Reacher resonate with millions of readers globally. Andrew now carries the responsibility of maintaining the integrity of a cultural archetype — a lone figure guided by competence, accountability, and an uncompromising sense of right and wrong. In this episode of The 1000 Hours Outside Podcast, Ginny Yurich sits down with family researcher and bestselling author Arlene Pellicane to talk about what kids lose when devices become the default (attention, affection, conversation, imagination), and what parents can rebuild with simple, steady choices. You'll hear why “background TV” isn't as harmless as it seems, how early screen exposure can set a lifelong pattern of seeking instant stimulation, why gaming and social media can hijack identity, and how to handle screen-time conflict when spouses (or even grandparents) aren't on the same page. There is a HUGE difference between living as an enslaved person of a household, and living as a son or a daughter of that household. An enslaved person has the will of the master FORCED upon him. He has no rights, is often mistreated, and is required to do what is commanded of him.Whereas a son or a daughter is at home in that same household, is part of that family, has a vested interest in how things go, and sees the benefit of obeying the authority - not just doing so to avoid punishment.Romans 8:15 says, "For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”We have two spirits to choose from: one that is bondage, and the result of choosing that spirit is FEAR. The other spirit is one of adoption, of being a child of God, and the result of choosing that spirit is the ability to call God Papa, Daddy!

There's no shame in admitting feeling a wee bit wobbly-legged about going forward in the face of wide open frontiers.  What to do? Gain some courage by reversing your Bucket List. Instead of a list of what is yet to be done, what about a list of what you've accomplished from the littlest things that you felt made a difference to the biggest things you never thought you would achieve. You might begin by asking yourself:What made me proud? What have I learned? How did I transform my thinking about strangers to compassion and kindness?Who revealed the meaning of true love to me?Where did I find the hope and resilience to face whatever came my way? When did I feel most content or fulfilled? What would I do all over again just for the joy of it?What did I long for as a child?  What have I created or, at least, not destroyed?Who have I lifted up?How have I defined my life?  What dreams came true? And, which was I happy to leave by the wayside?  What or whom did I fight for and why? When did I take time to play?  In my experience the Reverse Bucket List invites us to pay attention to what we've done, won, gained, lost, learned and kept on living no matter what. It's proof that over and over again we have stepped outside our comfort zone to strive for something to do, someone to love, and something to hope for! Give it a go. In 2008, Romanek appeared on Larry King Live, along with Jeff Peckman, former Mayoral candidate, endorsing Romanek's story as part of his campaign for a Denver Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission.[12] Romanek claimed to have recorded a video of an alien peeking in his window.[13] This is now commonly referred to as the "Boo Video".Romanek made an unverified claim that he consulted a video expert, stating without evidence, that the Boo Video would have cost $50,000 to fake. A paranormal claims investigations group, Rocky Mountain Paranormal Research Society, debunked this claim, saying that they reproduced the video for about $90.He was the subject of the documentary film Extraordinary: The Stan Romanek Story.[1] His claims include: being abducted by aliens;[2] being implanted with an alien artifact;[3] having sustained mysterious injuries inflicted by aliens;[4] having experienced telepathic communications with aliens;[5] being dressed in women's clothing by aliens and to have fathered human-alien hybrid offspring. Romanek has been unable to corroborate any of his alien-related claims.Stanley Romanek, a 51 year-old Loveland resident was arrested earlier 2/13/2014 on charges filed by the Loveland Police in connection with a long term investigation. Romanek turned himself in at the Larimer County Jail this morning on charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Child, a class IV Felony and Sexual Exploitation of a Child, a class III Felony. The class III felony alleges distribution of child pornography and the class IV felony relates to the possession of more than 20 images of child pornography. A jury first found Romanek guilty of the charge in October 2017 after a three-year legal battle, and he was sentenced to two years in a halfway house and 10 years of sex offender intensive supervised probation.A warrant for Romanek's arrest was filed in May 2018 after his probation was revoked. Romanek had reportedly missed several therapy sessions that he was required to complete as part of his sentence due to a contagious disease, his attorneys previously told 8th Judicial District Judge Susan Blanco. The contagious disease had also prevented him from appearing in court in person, they said.Romanek, resentenced in 2020 after admitting to violating the terms of his probation sentence. The judge expressed concern that Romanek was not taking responsibility for his crimes. Romanek is set to be resentenced on January 21st, 2026 after accused by prosecutors for violating the terms of his original sentence again.Corruption in Loveland runs wild and impaxtring the validity. We've been checking in on the economic conditions in Venezuela for about a decade now. In response to the U.S. strike and the capture of Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro this weekend, we're re-surfacing this episode with an update. The original version ran in 2016, with an update in 2024.Back in 2016, things were pretty bad in Venezuela. Grocery stores didn't have enough food. Hospitals didn't have basic supplies, like gauze. Child mortality was spiking. Businesses were shuttering. It was one of the epic economic collapses of our time. And it was totally avoidable.Venezuela used to be a relatively rich country. It has just about all the economic advantages a country could ask for: Beautiful beaches and mountains ready for tourism, fertile land good for farming, an educated population, and oil, lots and lots of oil.But during the boom years, the Venezuelan government made some choices that add up to an economic time bomb.Today on the show, we run through the decisions that foreshadowed the collapse, and we hear from people in Venezuela in 2016 at a particularly low point for the economy, then again and in 2024 after a bounce back and a stabilization, in part due to the unlikely impact of the U.S. dollar. Pre-order the Planet Money book and get a free gift. / Subscribe to Planet Money+Listen free: Apple Podcasts, Spotify, the NPR app or anywhere you get podcasts.Facebook / Instagram / TikTok / Our weekly Newsletter. This original episode was hosted by Robert Smith and Noel King. Friends of the Rosary,Today, the Catholic Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, the manifestation of our Lord to the Gentile nations, after it is made known to the shepherds of Bethlehem and revealed to the Magi who have come from the East to adore and offer Him gifts.Epiphany means manifestation. It's the revelation of the Messiah as the light of the nations. It's an affirmation of our universal salvation. In the adoration of the Magi — the wise men reaching Bethlehem, completing the nativity scene —  we see the beginnings of Christian faith. As they find the Child, the newly-born king of the Jews, with Mary, His Mother, they all prostrate and adore Him.This feast is celebrated either on January 6 or, at the episcopal conference's discretion, on the Sunday between January 2 and January 8.This solemnity is a large celebration, especially in Spanish-speaking countries.Ave MariaCome, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! BEST OF TST: Peter Thiel of Palantir is hosting a lecture series on the Antichrist in San Francisco between September 15 and October 6, 2025. Entirely secretive, the talk is put on by Acts 17 Collective, referring to the Biblical book of Acts wherein we read about how the divine being is not like material things (gold and silver) but instead something far more valuable. Is this ironic or intentional? Many see this as the fulfillment of prophecy, but perhaps it is the fulfilling of pop-culture prophecy instead. Perhaps technocrats are playing and preying on 4 billion Christians and Muslims to run a scenario designed to strip away faith in the divine and parlay it into technology. A satirizing of eschatology? The tech-bros believe that God messed up and man can fix it by replacing organic creation with synthetics. Everlasting life can be achieved through gold and silver (material means) which will extinguish the real spiritual nature of mankind - the true gold that is ‘Christ' consciousness - and replace it with antichrist consciousness. In the process, vampires like Thiel will feed on your corpse. True eternal life begins with recognizing death and choosing to make the world a better place anyways rather than becoming a nihilist. It is the choice of Christ consciousness and of faith in what lies beyond. One often overlooked detail of the technocracy is the apparent obsession with homosexuality, transgenderism, and Judaism. Consider the gay technocrats of Thiel, Yuval Harari, Sam Altman, and the debated sexuality of Alex Karp. All but Thiel are also Jewish, as is Larry Ellison and Curtis Yarvin, the man giving JD Vance many of his philosophical ideas. In fact, Thiel and Yarvin created Vance and influence him through their Dark Enlightenment philosophy, which wants to replace governments with a techno-monarchy equivalent to the Christian concept of a NWO. Are their Homosexual practices recycling sexual energy to create synthetic life? Homosexuality is also a rejection of God's creation, which is why so many Jews embrace not just homosexuality but the entirety of LGBTQ. People like Sam Altman have placed the hexagram into his ChatGPT logo while he has unveiled an ORB device that is a machine which confirms your humanity. We need only recall Matthew 26 where the high priest Pharisees accuse Jesus of being the Son of God to which Jesus rejects such a notion and lectures them on the end of their monopoly over salvation. The tech-bros are the modern pharisees and they not only reject Christ, but intend to convince his followers to fight a Holy War, and then offer salvation from the destruction with their vampiric machines. Alex Karp has promised a 3-front war is coming and Larry Ellison did say that most of the advanced AI technology was coming from Herzliya Israel, not Silicon Valley, which would make it a brother to transgenderism which finds its home in Tel Aviv. If all of this is slightly more true then it means Israel is the beast and the Balfour Declaration of 1917 was the dragon giving power unto the same. This is probably why the Trump administration has given military roles to the tech-bros and held high-profile dinners for Silicon Valley technocrats who he is himself a slave too. Hence the cutting of his right ear as a result of an assassination attempt, which Biblically speaks to the servant of the high priest, which in the Church of Satan is MAGA.*The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.” (Matthew 2:13-15)

Welcome to the SSPX Podcast, and Happy New Year. This week, like last week, we're offering a special presentation on the podcast, bringing together a sermon and a reflection for the great feast of the Holy Name of Jesus. As we come to this Sunday in the traditional calendar, the Church invites us to linger over something very small in sound, yet immeasurable in meaning: the Holy Name of Jesus. This feast draws us back to the earliest days of Our Lord's life on earth, to the moment when His name was spoken and given according to the will of the Father. Before He preached, before He worked miracles, before He shed His blood on Calvary, He bore a name that already revealed His mission. In Sacred Scripture, names are never accidental. They express identity and calling. In the case of the Child born at Bethlehem, the name given to Him tells us exactly why He has come. Jesus means “God saves.” It is not a title He assumes later, but a truth present from the beginning. Even in His infancy, at His circumcision, He begins to fulfill what that name proclaims. The Church has always understood that this name is not merely to be spoken, but revered, invoked, and lived. The liturgy bows before it. The saints return to it again and again. They teach us that the Holy Name is light for the mind, strength for the will, and comfort for the wounded heart. It steadies the soul and recalls us to what matters most. Today's reflections draw from Scripture, from the Church's prayer, and from saints who loved this name deeply, especially Saint Bernard, whose words we will hear in full. Let us allow the Holy Name of Jesus to echo quietly within us, not as a sound alone, but as a saving presence. - - - - - - - We'd love your feedback on these Daily Devotionals! After listening to the king, they [the wise men] went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. And going into the house, they saw the Child with Mary His mother, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered Him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. And being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way. (Matthew 2:9-12)
