For the first time ever, parents going through IVF can use whole genome sequencing to screen their embryos for hundreds of conditions. Harness the power of genetics to keep your family safe, with Orchid. Check them out at orchidhealth.com. In this episode, Razib talks to Wilfred Reilly, political scientist, author and fearless cultural commentator. Reilly holds a Ph.D. in political science from Southern Illinois and a J.D. from the University of Illinois. Raised in a working-class neighborhood on Chicago's South Side, he discusses his ten-year diversion from academia, including his stints as a canvasser for the gay rights group the Human Rights Campaign and a corporate salesperson. A prolific public intellectual, Reilly is the author of Lies My Liberal Teacher Told Me,  Taboo: 10 Facts [You Can't Talk About] and Hate Crime Hoax: How the Left Is Selling a Fake Race War. Razib asks what it means to be a “black conservative,” and Reilly responds that the term brackets all black intellectuals who dissent from the progressive orthodoxy, ranging from rock-ribbed right-wingers like Thomas Sowell to moderate liberals like John McWhorter. They also discuss the excesses of Civil Rights legislation and Richard Hanania's thesis in The Origins of Woke: Civil Rights Law, Corporate America, and the Triumph of Identity Politics that the legal system is geared toward racial progressivism. Reilly believes that wokeness cannot be rolled back until that institutional and legal framework driving for radicalism is neutered. Segueing into the domain of political science, Razib and Reilly discuss the difference between avowed preferences and revealed preferences around issues like abortion and pornography. Both agree ordinary Americans strongly disagree with ideologues who hold extreme policies. Reilly also points out the strangeness that many of the most violent and visible activists during the BLM protests were white, and he holds these are the people who are buying books by radical activist professors like Ibram Kendi, who meanwhile has little real influence among black academics. They also discuss diversity within the black American community, including Laurence Otis Graham's exploration of socioeconomic status in Our Kind of People: Inside America's Black Upper Class. Reilly talks about his more upper-class mother's attempt to inculcate elitism within him, and its failure to stick. Then Razib moots the question of the differences between “American Descendents of Slaves” (ADoS), Africans and Caribbeans, and the fact that Harvard refuses to survey its black students by sub-demographic. Finally, Reilly expounds at length on his “anti-doomer” views, arguing that economic, social and environmental catastrophism is almost always wrong, as well a providing a hearty defense of the cultural richness and economic dynamism of the Midwest.

The Zeoli Army reacts to this hard-hitting news… 4:30pm- Eli Lake—Contributing Editor at Commentary Magazine & Host of “The Re-Education Podcast”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his latest article at The Free Press, “Alvin Bragg's Dangerous Stunt.” Lake writes, “Many campaign finance law experts say it's unclear whether hush money would be an in-kind contribution to a political campaign, since Trump himself has said he made the payments to spare his family from embarrassment—not to win the 2016 election. What's more, President Biden's own Justice Department, which would be the appropriate venue to prosecute this case, has declined to do so—presumably, because there's not much there there. Finally, reporting violations of campaign finance law are almost never prosecuted as felonies.” You can read the full editorial here: https://www.thefp.com/p/alvin-braggs-dangerous-stunt 5:00pm- The Drive at 5: Dr. Wilfred Reilly—Professor of Political Science at Kentucky State University & Author of “Taboo: 10 Facts You Can't Talk About”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his most recent editorial on National Review, “California's Reparations Proposals Are a Mess.” Dr. Reilly writes, a “panel in San Francisco has recommended cash or check payments of $5 million to every eligible black city resident…Given that no living black Americans were ever slaves, and few Californians are survivors of pre-1954 Southern Jim Crow, any coherent argument for reparations rests simply on the claim that black people would be $(X) better off absent the course of history—and so are owed $(X) amount of money. However, the practical problem with any figure like ‘$5,000,000' is that the entire median wealth gap between blacks and whites—at the multiple-person household level—is well under $200,000.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nationalreview.com/2023/04/californias-reparations-proposals-are-a-mess/ 5:30pm- The Mystery Movie Clip- Matt sides with Henry over Rich…it was a mistake… 5:40pm- While briefly taking questions from the White House press on Tuesday, President Joe Biden stated that “it remains to be seen” if rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (A.I.) could be dangerous. 5:45pm- During her Wednesday press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre explained that changing gender is “something for a child and their parent to decide” and that state-level legislation preventing gender affirming surgery for children is anti-trans. 5:55pm- Who has the best cheesesteak in Philadelphia? According to a poll from The Philadelphia Inquirer it's Dalessandro's. 6:05pm- On Tuesday former President Donald Trump was arraigned in New York City, appearing before State Supreme Court Justice Juan M. As NewsBusters notes, even mainstream media outlets like ABC and NBC News have expressed skepticism about Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's legal reasoning for bringing charges against Trump. Is the case legally risky? 6:10pm- MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle criticized former President Donald Trump for fundraising off being criminally charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. According to Axios, former President Donald Trump raised an estimated $5 million in the first 48 hours after news he had been indicted by the Manhattan District Attorney's office. 6:30pm- John Yoo— the Emanuel S. Heller Professor of Law at the University of California at Berkeley & a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss former President Donald Trump being charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. After reading the unsealed indictment, Professor Yoo concludes that the Manhattan District Attorney's charges against Trump are “weaker than we thought.” Will the case be dismissed before a trial even begins?

The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (03/29/2023): 3:05pm- On Monday, a 28-year-old assailant killed six people, including three children at Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee—a private Christian elementary school. The alleged shooter was a former student of the school and identified as a transgender man. While speaking with members of the press, Nashville Police Chief John Drake said that investigators have not yet confirmed a motive for the attack. In her latest article, Katherine Fung of Newsweek documents objections to the public release of the shooter's manifesto—citing “concerns from LGBTQ+ groups.” In the past, these types of manifestos have always been made available to reporters and the public. Is it ever a good idea to allow government officials to withhold pertinent information? You can read the aforementioned article here: https://www.newsweek.com/audrey-hale-manifesto-release-raises-major-concerns-among-lgbtq-groups-1790938 3:15pm- Many media outlets and far-left commentators, outlandishly, have suggested that Republican policies placing restrictions on drag shows for minors and gender-affirming surgeries for children led to the Covenant School shooting in Nashville, TN. 3:30pm- On Wednesday, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin signed legislation—HB 2171—that will ban unequal restrictions on places of worship during state emergencies. 3:40pm- On MSNBC, host Nicolle Wallace and guests former FBI official Frank Figliuzzi, Princeton professor Eddie Glaude, and analyst John Heilemann espoused conspiratorial lunacy suggesting that 2nd Amendment proponents value their own priorities over the safety of school children. 3:50pm- While speaking with reporters outside of the White House, President Joe Biden was asked if he believed Christians were targeted by the Covenant School shooter in Nashville, TN. After learning that conservative Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) expressed a belief that Christians had been targeted, Biden then stated: “I probably don't then.” 4:05pm- The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board documented a “strange house call” the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) made to independent journalist Matt Taibbi's home—unannounced “the same day Mr. Taibbi testified before the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.” The WSJ Editorial Board writes, “[t]he taxman left a note instructing Mr. Taibbi to call the IRS four days later. Mr. Taibbi was told in a call with the agent that both his 2018 and 2021 tax returns had been rejected…the curious timing of this visit, on the heels of the FTC demand that Twitter turn over names of journalists, raises questions about potential intimidation.” Read the full editorial here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/irs-matt-taibbi-twitter-files-jim-jordan-daniel-werfel-lina-khan-84ee518?mod=hp_opin_pos_2#cxrecs_s 4:10pm- While appearing on Fox News with Sean Hannity, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) said it was “scary stuff” to learn that the IRS showed up to the home of journalist Matt Taibbi. 4:35pm- In his most recent report for Tablet, journalist Jacob Siegel documents government-driven censorship on social media platforms. Siegel writes: “A new outfit called Hamilton 68 claimed to have discovered hundreds of Russian-affiliated accounts that had infiltrated Twitter to sow chaos and help Donald Trump win the election. Russia stood accused of hacking social media platforms, the new centers of power, and using them to covertly direct events inside the United States. None of it was true. After reviewing Hamilton 68's secret list, Twitter's safety officer, Yoel Roth, privately admitted that his company was allowing ‘real people' to be ‘unilaterally labeled Russian stooges without evidence or recourse.'” You can read his full investigative report here: https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/guide-understanding-hoax-century-thirteen-ways-looking-disinformation 5:00pm- The Drive at 5: Dr. Wilfred Reilly—Professor of Political Science at Kentucky State University & Author of “Taboo: 10 Facts You Can't Talk About”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his latest National Review editorial, “Robin DiAngelo and Scott Adams: Double Standard on Race.” PLUS is basic math racist? You can read Dr. Reilly's full article here: https://www.nationalreview.com/2023/03/the-scott-adams-scandal-in-reverse-proves-our-racial-double-standard/ 5:35pm- While appearing before the House Armed Services Committee, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin denied that military bases are funding programs like “drag queen story hour”—despite evidence presented by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) that suggested otherwise. 5:50pm- While appearing on Fox News with Sean Hannity, Senator Rand Paul stated: “I'm 100% confident that Fauci lied to us.” He went on to explain that because former Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci is still technically working on behalf of the federal government, he may be eligible to receive legal protection from the government. 5:55pm- During a House hearing on Wednesday, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said she could not explain why IRS agents showed up to the home of independent journalist Matt Taibbi the same day he was scheduled to testify before Congress. 6:05pm- In a series of Tweets, political commentator Greg Price highlighted the “terrifying” details hidden within the bipartisan Bill S.686—the proposed legislation to ban TikTok known as The RESTRICT Act. According to some reports, it gives federal government officials the authority to access and monitor the personal accounts (including emails and texts) of anyone they deem a risk. Equally astounding, a minimum fine of $250,000 and 20 years in prison could be brought against any who illegally access banned applications, like TikTok, through a virtual private network (VPN). 6:35pm- Is Rich going to dress up as Cher and sing “If I Could Turn Back Time”? Maybe. 6:40pm- During her Wednesday press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked whether the Biden Administration would endorse some form of “gun confiscation”—she failed to confirm or deny that it could be an ambition of the administration.

Nebraska & Department of Education v. Wilfred Reilly, professor & author, sits down with Bridget for a fascinating conversation about the disconnect between what people in upper middle class America believe and reality, the power of victimization, and racial dynamics in the US. They cover the true stats on police killing unarmed civilians, interracial crimes, the politicization of Covid and the vaccines, and people in leadership making decisions based on completely bullshit data. They also discuss the actual definition of the word "woke," why wokeism invariably ignores class and just focuses on race, sexual orientation & gender, how normal people need to get together and oppose crazy people, the long term effects of riots and looting, how journalists and social scientists are trying to shoehorn criminals into a pre-planned narrative, and the simple fact that if you don't enforce the law, people will commit crimes. However, as Dr. E.J. Antoni notes in his most recent Fox Business article, “once you account for employment rates, the labor market still has not recovered to pre-pandemic levels. The labor force participation rate and employment-to-population ratio have both remained stubbornly low, resulting in about 2.6 million fewer people working today, compared to pre-pandemic rates.” You can read Dr. Antoni's article at: https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/monthly-jobs-report-still-reliable-last-domino-fall 3:30pm- On Tuesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued new guidance for service industry employees reporting tip money—which will include employers monitoring the annual tip revenue of its servers.  3:45pm- Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY) introduced H.R. 185—a bill that would eliminate the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) COVID-19 vaccine mandate for international travelers to the United States. Massie notes that “the rest of the world” has dropped the mandate.  3:55- In an opinion editorial featured in the New York Times, Christopher Caldwell argues that the war between Russia and Ukraine has devolved into “a World War I-style battle of attrition.” 4:05pm- Disney has removed an episode of The Simpsons—“One Angry Lisa” which aired in October 2022—from its streaming service, Disney+, due to a joke about forced labor in China. Meanwhile, Disney recently released an episode of The Proud Family” where characters explain that America was built on slavery. So, isn't it hypocritical to shield the Chinese Communist Party from criticisms over its active embrace of slavery? In 2020, Disney filmed Mulan in China's Xinjiang province where Uighur Muslims are forced to work in internment camps.  4:25pm- Yesterday, Rich played audio of Mama Zeoli witnessing the Chinese spy balloon being shot out of the sky! Due to popular demand, we have decided to play it again...  4:40pm- President Joe Biden is expected to use his State of the Union platform to tout the U.S. economy—but purchasing power has been drastically harmed due to out-of-control inflation, which was exacerbated by spending bills signed into law by Biden. Since Biden became President, prices have risen by 14% and family purchasing power has decreased by an estimated $7,400.  4:45pm- While appearing on The View, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked why, according to polling, fewer people want Joe Biden to be president in 2024 than Donald Trump. 4:50pm- On Monday night, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) delivered a preemptive critique of President Joe Biden's State of the Union Address. McCarthy addressed the national deficit—explaining that, if nothing changes, “in the next 10 years we will spend over $8 trillion just on interest.” 5:00pm- Dr. Wilfred Reilly—Professor of Political Science at Kentucky State University & Author of “Taboo: 10 Facts You Can't Talk About”—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss Disney's cartoon series, “The Proud Family”, explaining to children that America was built on slavery and that the country was founded on white supremacy. Environmentalism, economic equity, and seemingly a dangerous form of globalization that usurps national sovereignty. Investigative journalist Michael Shellenberger discovered a now deleted video from 2018 where the WEF attempted to predict what the world will look like in 2030. Ho of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit has pledged that he will no longer hire clerks from Yale Law School due to the school's intolerance towards political debate and active censorship of speakers on campus. Judge Ho stated: “I would contend that cancel culture is one of the leading reasons why citizens no longer trust a wide variety of once-leading institutions.” 5:55pm- 83-year-old Democratic State Senator, a grandmother, Toby Ann Stavisky's Twitter account was used to “like” several pornographic images—the Senator and her chief of staff both denied being the ones who “liked” the X-rated material. New Zealand Prime Minster Implores the UN to Restrict Speech on Social Media 6:10pm- While appearing on MSNBC, Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate John Fetterman offered an awkward retort to Chris Hayes' greeting. 6:35pm- Colonel Barney Barnum (USMC Medal of Honor Recipient) and Jerry Conner (MC-LEF Philadelphia Committee Member) join the show to talk about the 2022 Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation Philadelphia Gala on Saturday, October 22nd at Rivers Casino. Information about the event can be found here: https://www.mclefphila.org/events-overview 6:50pm- While speaking at the United Nations General Assembly, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Arden compared unrestricted freedom speech on social media platforms to “weapons of war” and implored members of the U.N. to take the threat seriously—ultimately advocating for a governmentally established restriction on speech. 6:55pm- Who Won Social Media? + Zeoli's Final Thought

WILFRED REILLY joins TOOTS SWEET & JEWELS JONES on The PATRIOTS IN TUNE SHOW. "Wilfred Reilly is an American political scientist. He is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Kentucky State University. He holds a PhD in Political Science from Southern Illinois University and a law degree from the University of Illinois. Reilly's research focuses on empirical testing of political claims. Reilly's book Hate Crime Hoax: How the Left is Selling a Fake Race War, was published by Regnery Publishing in February 2019. For the book, Reilly assembled a data set of 409 allegedly false or dubious hate crime allegations (concentrated during the past five years), which he describes as hoaxes on the basis of reports in mainstream national or regional news sources. Reilly has stated this data set is available to anyone who requests it. He uses this data to support his claim that a substantial percentage of all hate crime allegations must be hoaxes, given that, per his analysis, only about 7,000 reported hate crimes take place in a typical year, and at most 8–10% of these receive the national or regional reporting that is required for inclusion in his data set. In the wake of the Jussie Smollett alleged assault, Reilly authored an editorial outlining his case in USA Today. After interviewing Reilly, the Washington Post argued that hate crimes are on the rise and a relatively small percentage of allegations are hoaxes, but quoted him as saying "It's politicization to say there's a massive surge of hate" under President Donald Trump and that political liberals tend to characterize all hate crimes as "attacks on innocent people of color" when "you don't know what happened". Reilly, who is African American, has appeared or been quoted in television, radio and print media outlets, claiming that many or most recent high-profile hate crimes (e.g. Jussie Smollett, Yasmin Seweid) have turned out to be hoaxes." -Wikipedia  WILFRED REILLY LINKS:  Twitter: https://twitter.com/wil_da_beast630 Hate Crime Hoax: How the Left is Selling a Fake Race War: https://www.amazon.com/Hate-Crime-Hoax-Lefts-Campaign/dp/1621577783 Taboo: 10 Facts You Can't Talk About: https://www.amazon.com/Taboo-Facts-Cant-Talk-About/dp/162157928X GET IN CHAT!  dlive: https://dlive.tv/PatriotsInTune  Twitch: https://twitch.tv/patriotsintune  Facebook: https://facebook.com/patriotsInTune Access all platforms from our website https://PatriotsInTune.net or https://PatriotsInTune.com PATRIOTS IN TUNE SHOW hosted by Toots Sweet and the lovely Jewels Jones. On the Friday interview edition of the Daily Daily Caller Podcast, we sit down with professor and author Wilfred Reilly to talk about his two great and important books, "Taboo: 10 Facts You Can't Talk About," and "Hate Crime Hoax: How the Left is Selling a Fake Race War." We also discuss the new 1776 Project, a group of African American scholars championing American values and history who aim to counter the flawed 1619 Project by the New York Times. Why are cries of racism so common in politics? Is America a "fundamentally racist country"? How is race used as a weapon in elections? We discuss these questions and more with political science professor Wilfred Reilly from Kentucky State University, one of the nation's oldest historically black colleges. We get into the 1776 Project, both books "Hate Crime Hoax" and "Taboo," how the left has weaponized race and how to combat it.

How About Some Common Sense? Today's topics include: John knows that seems too much to ask about a lot of things in 2020, but he's going to give you an update today on what has got to be one of the dumbest stories in the history of sports... Next, John talks to Fred Lucas (White House Correspondent at The Daily Signal) followed by Matt Sharp (Senior Counsel and State Government Relations National Director at ADF - Alliance Defending Freedom) to discuss a lawsuit the ADF is representing, where 3 Connecticut high school girls are suing the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference due to a policy that allows biological males to compete against females. And finally, Wilfred C. Reilly (Author of the books, "Taboo: 10 Facts You Can't Talk About" and "Hate Crime Hoax: How The Left Is Selling A Fake Race War") talks about it being the one year anniversary of the infamous Jussie Smollett hate crime hoax, how often hate crime hoaxes occur, and some 'taboo' subjects that people are too afraid to talk about in our ever increasing 'politically correct' world.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Taboo. You know, that old board game with the buzzer? The one that was basically just Password? Well that's not what today's episode is about, despite the name. It's now a book containing mostly things that would get us immediately Twitter canceled if we said them on the show in any other context. That's called a societal problem. Luckily, Wil doesn't care if you cancel him. He's immune.
