2025 re-run bonus notes: This episode is the third in a trilogy of music blocks (parts 1 and 2 were our January and February reruns). Long time listeners may already know what this trilogy is all about, but for those who don't and have been following the reruns, the introduction to this episode finally explains what the trilogy is all about. So, the fun [for me] question: of the three music blocks in the trilogy, which did you like best (and why), which did you like least (and why), and do you or do you not think I made the right decision bumping "music block A" for "music block B" in C1E41? Let me know at nerd.noise.radio@gmail.com, or by any social media outlet on which we exist. I will genuinely be curious to know what you think. Even to this day in 2025, I *STILL* don't know what to think, personally! DISCLAIMER: the production value was worse in 2022 when the intro and outro were produced, and substantially worse in 2018 when the music block was produced. So if this is your first time hearing Nerd Noise Radio, please keep in mind that our production values have much improved in the time since. ----------------------------- Original (2022) Show Notes ----------------------------- Today's broadcast is C1E69 for Mishmash Monday, November 7th, 2022. Intro / Outro / Final Production produced using Ardour 6 / Audacity 3 in Ubuntu Studio [Linux] 22.04 09/08/2022. Music Block produced in GarageBand in macOS 10/19/2018. IMPORTANT NOTE: The tools and techniques I used back in 2018 in producing the music block were NOT up to my current standards – including featuring less sophisticated fades, more imprecise volume level balancing, less developed track run-order sorting, and even my having used MP3s rather than WAVs in the source production, resulting in a lower-fidelity final product, and further limiting my ability to touch it up after the fact. As such, the production value of this episode will NOT be to par with our current "fresh episodes". But production values aside, the quality of the CONTENT itself, otherwise, I feel, is excellent, and well worth digging up to share with you.....I hope that you'll agree! :-) You can also find all of our audio episodes on Archive.org as well as the occasional additional release only available there, such as remixes of previous releases and other content. Our YouTube Channel, for the time being is in dormancy, but will be returning with content, hopefully, in 2022.

Welcome to the very first episode of VGM Origins. A VGM podcast where I interview my guest which range from fellow VGM podcasters, podcasting fans, friends, some family, and who ever wants to come on. My first guest hails from the Shujin Academy VGM Club. He is known as Professor Tom. The prof like myself is a huge wrestling fan, so I figured what better way to do a show then to listen to tracks centered around characters who are either grapplers, wrestlers, or use wrestling moves. We also talk about family, time we wish we had to play games, and Toasted PB&J sandwiches. 1. The Circuit (Hugo's Theme)- Street Fighter 3rd Strike (Hideki Okugawa) 2. Welcome to the State of the Arc Podcast! Today we're discussing NieR Automata, a philosophical and introspective game that is actually really fun to play. In this episode, we talk about how the game was made, and what needed to come together in order for it to happen. This is an amazing game and one that seems to marry gameplay with story in a unique way. We talk about Yoko Taro, Yosuke Saito, Keiichi Okabe, Akihiko Yoshida, and of course, philosophers like Plato, Aristotle, Sartre, Nietzsche, Pascal, and many others. If you like the podcast, please leave a like and a comment letting us know. Thank you, and please enjoy!
The audio version of this interview is entirely in Japanese. To watch the subtitled version, please visit our Youtube channel. Shuhei Yoshida chats with YOKO TARO, Yosuke Saito, and Keiichi Okabe about their work in the NieR series. Together they discuss the early development of the NieR series and its connections to the Drakengard series; the early development of NieR: Automata and critical decisions regarding the gameplay, story, and music; deciding to release a new version of NieR: Replicant for overseas fans; and their thoughts on current development both inside and outside of Japan The Game Maker's Notebook is sponsored by Xsolla.

For the Glory of Podcast-kind!This week we discuss NieR: Automata, the 2017 Action JRPG from the visionary mind of director Yoko Taro and PlatinumGames that has us a bit divided! The game tells a rich story about a post-apocalyptic future where sexy battle androids are still fighting in the name of their ancient human creators. The game explores themes of identity, humanism, and philosophy through a really non-conventional gameplay experience that some consider a gaming masterpiece. But what exactly is a "masterpiece"? What makes a game, or any piece of art in any medium, stand out amongst the rest. Does this game fit the bill for us? Let's discuss!..Also , we share our early thoughts on the Animal Crossing 2.0 update, which we'll be discussing at LENGTH in a couple weeks in our upcoming anniversary episode! If you'd like to share some thoughts about Animal Crossing New Horizons, write to us or send us a voice recording of your favorite ACNH memories, what the game means to you, etc., and we'll include you in the episode! ========Be Our Friends!!EMAIL US at gayforplaypodcast@gmail.comFOLLOW G4P on Social Media!Twitter: @GayForPlayPodInstagram: @GayForPlayPodTwitch: twitch.tv/gayforplaypod (Streams on Saturdays/Sundays at 1pm Pacific!)========CREDITSIntro and outro music by Connor Marsh (@connorjmarshmallow)Show art by Nick Adams (@nickadams.art)Special thanks to our patrons: Blueberri Mary, Elijah Punzal, & Martha Turner

It's hard to deny the power of NieR's music. Keiichi Okabe (and his company MONACA) created something remarkable in 2010 with the music of NieR Gestalt & Replicant. In 2017, lightning struck again with the soundtrack for NieR: Automata, a masterwork of instrumentation and emotion. There's a reason you can search for "NieR" on VGMdb and get over fifty results worth of albums. Original soundtracks, arrangements, multiple concert performances, and rare albums begin to cover the official releases. Then with people like Sean Schafianski, ROZEN + REVEN, and Ferdk, there's a wide variety of unofficial arrangements as well. The point is, there's a reason NieR and its music is so widely celebrated, and it's high time Rhythm Encounter had a show about it. So join Mike and the RPGFan NieR megafans Alana, Zach, and Patrick for a peek into the wide and varied world of music found in the NieR series.Featuring: Mike Salbato, Alana Hagues, Zach Wilkerson, Patrick Gann; Edited by Jonathan LoganLinks for this episode Kainé/Final Fantasy Main Theme from FFXIV (YouTube) Sean Schafianski on Bandcamp Rhythm Encounter 19 – Schmoozin' with Schafianski NieR Music Concert Blu-ray {{The Memories of Puppets}} preview "The Sound of the End" (YouTube) Tracklist0:03:53 - Kainé (Salvation) (Keiichi Okabe) - NieR OST0:06:53 - Mourning (Keiichi Okabe) - NieR:Automata OST0:37:07 - Repose (arranged by SEXY-SYNTHESIZER) - NieR Tribute Album -echo-0:43:34 - Ikō (Authority) (Keiichi Okabe) - NieR Re[in]carnation1:09:04 - Vague Hope - Cold Rain (arranged by Sean Schafianski) - CHAMBER WORKS - NieR Automata1:12:31 - Gods Bound by Rules (arranged by Kumi Tanioka) - Piano Collections NieR Gestalt & Replicant1:39:27 - The Sound of the End (MONACA) - NieR Music Concert Blu-ray 1:42:50 - Orchestra: Weight of the World (Keiichi Okabe) - NieR:Automata Orchestral Arrangement Album2:20:25 - Zach's Bonus Track!Album LinksCHAMBER WORKS – NieR Automata Our Review VGMdb Bandcamp iTunes Store / Apple Music Spotify NieR: Automata Orchestral Arrangement Album Our Review VGMdb CDJapan iTunes Store / Apple Music NieR: Automata Original Soundtrack Our Review VGMdb CDJapan iTunes Store / Apple Music Spotify NieR Gestalt & Replicant Original Soundtrack Our Review VGMdb iTunes Store / Apple Music Spotify NieR Music Concert Blu-ray Our Review VGMdb NieR Re[in]carnation Original Soundtrack VGMdb CDJapan iTunes Store / Apple Music NieR Tribute Album -echo- Our Review VGMdb CDJapan Piano Collections NieR Gestalt & Replicant Our Review VGMdb iTunes Store / Apple Music Get in Touch:RPGFan.comEmail us: music@rpgfan.comTwitter: @rpgfancomInstagram: @rpgfancomFacebook: rpgfancomTwitch: rpgfancom
Greetings, Gamers, and welcome to a very special bonus episode, where Bedroth flies solo to discuss the songs featured in the opening ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics! Special thanks to Nikkei on Twitter, who appears to have been the first to publish the official list of 19 songs played in the ceremony. Thanks also to YouTubers Deh Almeida and Nicolas Monteiro, who uploaded rips of the individual themes played at the ceremony which, along with the always-wonderful VGMDB website, helped make this episode possible. Anything I get right today will be a tribute to the information I found there, as well as on various crowdsourced info-banks like Wikipedia (only approved, source-citing articles!) and the Fandom Wiki (for the more obscure stuff). Here's a link to the MediaFiles episode mentioned in the intro. Here at Video Game Grooves we are not above admitting our mistakes, and we do our best to rectify them. This episode we rectify the error of omission as Rozen comes back to the show after a "mea culpa" amount of time way back on Episode 21 when we were just a baby podcast. Well now as a bratty teenage podcast we slouch and kick a rock, and finally get him back on for you. To make up for lost time we are covering not one but two of his awesome vinyl releases. First up, Anthony returns us to that old Nier well with Nier: Glory to Mankind. Of course we talk about the music of Keiichi Okabe but also the dovetail with the "gravitas" of the Rozen+Reven adaptation, as well as the vocals on every single track, and what it takes to deliver on what Nier musically promises. Jeremy ends up humblebragging about the re-release variant he snagged. We continue with the more recent release of The Keyblade War, Rozen and vocalist Reven's adaptation of the inscrutably-storied Kingdom Hearts franchise, and whether it was easier or harder to match up with the iconic music of Yoko Shimomura. Everything has meaning in this release, and we get just a taste of that in our listening party today. We continue with the new releases and make a few harsh judgments over here and a few drooling hype statements over there... but ultimately we let you decide where to spend your money (links below as always) and we finally discuss the weird time-delayed climate of video game music on vinyl record, including some production insights from Rozen who also does some design work at Materia Collective, and he even pulls out the crystal ball for one or two predictions about what fans can expect in the future from the "hurry up and wait" situation we've been experiencing over the past year. Trust the power of feelings and friendship and enjoy this one! On today’s very special Abnormal Mapping, we are here today to celebrate the end of the year, and indeed the end of the decade! We’ve got some lists of our favourite games, from this year and the decade at large. There’s some music in there as well, but not as much as on previous years, because it’s been a weird one. Here’s to the second decade of podcasting. That’s a terrifying thing to say.If you want to send us comments or questions, shoot us an email at podcast@abnormalmapping.com!Next Month's Game Club: Outer WildsYour Programme This Evening:MUSIC: The Lost Forest by Keiichi Okabe, Kakeru Ishihama, Keigo Hoashi, Takafumi Nishimura (Nier)Segment 1 - EM 2019WORST: MGSVBEST:Untitled Goose GameSayonara Wild HeartsBloodstainedMario Maker 2Don't Wake The NightMUSIC: Wild Hearts Never Die by Daniel Olsén (Sayonara Wild Hearts)Segment 2 - Jackson 2019WORST:Death StrandingNier AutomataBEST:NierDeath StrandingZone of the Enders 2Sayonara Wild HeartsSonic Adventure 2MUSIC: Beyond the Bounds by Maki Kirioka (Zone of the Enders 2: The Second Runner)Segment 3 - Em Decade10. You may be noticing there's no Episode Number or BGMania Podcast in the title anymore. Apple Podcasts sent out a mass email to all content creators asking that we stop putting that information in the titles. Forgot to mention that on air during the actual show, so I'll mention it next week! We like to take a deep dive into a specific composers' catalog of music once every quarter, and to kick things off this year, we're looking into one of Bryan's more recent favorite composers, Keiichi Okabe! Known for his work on NieR and Tekken, prepare for a hard-hitting, thumping, and moving episode. Please send all track requests for future episodes of Radio Hour and possibly more to bgmania@leveldowngames.com The tracklist for today’s episode is as follows: Eddy Gordo (Tekken 3) [1997] Ogre Stage (Tekken Tag Tournament) [1997] Boyfriend A Go Go (Beautiful Katamari) [2007] Break Theory (Tekken 6) [2007] Song of the Ancients ~ Devola (NieR) [2010] Shadowlord (NieR) [2010] Mystic Force (Tekken Tag Tournament 2) [2011] Kuroi Uta (Drakengard 3) [2013] Armaros (Drakengard 3) [2013] Arctic Snowfall -Final Round- (Tekken 7) [2015] Peaceful Sleep (NieR: Automata) [2017] Possessed by Disease (NieR: Automata) [2017] Shield of the King (Final Fantasy XV: Episode Gladiolus) [2017] Prelude of Showdown (SINoALICE) [2017] Dark World / Dark World Dungeon (Super Smash Bros Ultimate) [2018] Last Stand (Fate/EXTELLA Link) [2019] CONTACT US ◘ Website: http://leveldowngames.com/◘ Discord: https://discord.gg/Vqfdeaf◘ Twitter: https://twitter.com/OriginalLDG◘ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bryan.ldg/◘ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/leveldowngaming◘ LDG Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/leveldowngames◘ Kyle/Streamworks Alliance Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/bruce_dedeuce AFFILIATE LINKS Please consider supporting Level Down Games and all of our content by using the following affiliate links. In episode 19 of the Broken Chair Scores we present the Angelo Badalamenti score to the 1990 TV series Twin Peaks by Mark Frost and David Lynch as well as the second set of tracks from the soundtrack to the Cavia video game "Nier" from 2010 composed by Keiichi Okabe, Kakeru Ishihama, Keigo Hoashi, and Takafumi Nishimura. We had to go back to this score since it contains so much great music that one episode of 5 tracks just weren't enough. Also this is the first episode only featuring Krazy Kaptain Khalid and Melee Markus. Apeshit Andy was absent and he is missed dearly. download

OH MY GOD! We can't believe that you haven't listened to Get Sidetracked before, especially Episode 39! This week the boys have a chat about cult movies and peoples reactions to them, also Sunny talks about some of the injuries he has sustained throughout his life. Florez discusses the World Cup and his love for Colombia plus much, much more. If you have any questions you would like the boys to answer please email them at wearegetsidetracked@gmail.com! Don't forget to like, rate, review, follow on Facebook, Instagram, Soundcloud and iTunes or where you listen to your podcasts. Intro music credited to Dj Kool "Let Me Clear My Throat" Boogie Break music credited to Grant Kirkhope "Main Title(Banjo-Kazooie Theme Song)" Outro music credited to Nobuyoshi Sano, Keiichi Okabe, & Yuu Miyake "Forest Law Theme (Arranged Version)”
This is probably the best edited episode so far. I tried to reduce the clicks and other sounds to a minimum. At least the ones that are not a part of the music ;-) Tracks have been edited seperately to sound crisp and clear. We also have a third microphone now so that all three of us get roughly the same air time.In this episode we present the soundtrack to the 2013 Steven Knight film "Locke" by Dickon Hinchliffe as well as the soundtrack to the Cavia video game "Nier" from 2010 composed by Keiichi Okabe, Kakeru Ishihama, Keigo Hoashi, and Takafumi Nishimura. The two scores are quite different in style which should make for an entertaining and diversified listening experience. download
Look who's back - back again - ST3K's back - tell a friend. That's right. ST3K is back. We fixed him! And nothing absolutely went wrong in the process. We didn't accidentally install the voice module. We're still not looking for the right voice module at all. Just be glad ST3K is back, okay? And to celebrate, this is our longest episode yet, and it's not wasted whatsoever on the beautiful score to NieR: Automata from MONACA, namely Keiichi Okabe and Keigo Hoashi.
