See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ryanair says the Government must play ball in order to allow it to expand its operations at Shannon Airport. The budget airline has this week confirmed that it's carried 22 million passengers through the Clare base since it first came to the facility in 1987. The airline will have a fourth based aircraft at Shannon for the first time for summer 2026 as a result of a $400 million investment, with new routes going to Rome, Madrid, Warsaw and Poznan. Ryanair Director of Communications Jade Kirwan says Shannon must be included in the Regional Airports Programme to ensure its growth isn't stifled.

Portugal has said Ryanair passengers must be able to board using physical boarding passes despite a new rule implemented by the airline that only digital passes could be accepted. Australia is also banning the use of powerbanks aboard flights. All to discuss with Eoghan Corry, Editor, TravelExtra.

Ryanair is expressing confidence that it'll see a further expansion of its operations in Shannon in the future following a jobs boost today. The budget airline is holding a recruitment event at the Park Inn by Radisson at Shannon Airport on November 29th to fill 25 new cabin crew jobs at its Clare base. The announcement of the posts comes in a year when the airline has added a fourth-based aircraft as well as 180,000 extra seats through routes to Rome, Madrid, Warsaw and Poznan to its Shannon activities. Ryanair's Director of Communications Jade Kirwan has been telling Clare FM's Seán Lyons the new roles boast an "industry-leading" salary and don't require prior cabin crew experience.
