Dr. Fiona Lovely is a longevity, health and wellness expert with specialties in menopause medicine, functional neurology, and functional medicine. She is speaking to the topics of women's health around perimenopause and menopause. In this week's episode, Dr. Fiona Lovely sits down with Kim Vopni, certified fitness professional, menopause support practitioner, and founder of The Buff Muff Method, for a refreshingly candid conversation about pelvic floor health—the topic no one talks about but every woman needs to know. Known as The Vagina Coach, Kim shares how an eye-opening moment in sixth grade sparked her passion for pelvic wellness, leading to a global mission to educate women on the foundation of core strength, sexual function, and continence. Forget the outdated “just do Kegels” advice. Kim explains why pelvic floor training should be holistic and dynamic—connecting breath, posture, and real-life movement. She and Dr. Lovely also dive into the challenges of prolapse, incontinence, pelvic pain, and how menopause magnifies these issues. Most importantly, they discuss effective, non-surgical solutions and why pelvic floor physiotherapy should be routine care for women everywhere. What You'll Hear: Kim's journey to becoming The Vagina Coach Why “tight” isn't the goal—rethinking pelvic floor strength Pelvic dysfunction: common but fixable The Buff Muff Method: beyond basic Kegels How menopause affects your pelvic health Non-surgical solutions (PT, pessaries & more) Why pelvic health deserves mainstream attention You can find more about Kim Vopni at www.vaginacoach.com, explore her Buff Muff Method at www.buffmuff.com, and follow her on Instagram @vaginacoach. This week on Beauty Is a Bitch, I sit down with @phdfemininehealth CEO and co-founder Dee Seymour to talk about something we all need to get better at: how we talk about our bodies—and how we can Raise Our Vagina iQ™. We covered it all—from the shame many of us were raised with, to why so many women still don't have the words to describe what's happening in their own vaginas. (Yes, we say the word—and you should too.) Dee shares why language is a form of self-care, how their new campaign is changing the conversation around menopause, discharge and dryness—and why smart women deserve smart words about their bodies. Routine vaginal examinations can cause more harm than good. Sometimes they are needed but most of the time they are not. Vaginal examinations are offered as routine surveillance during most births, but you have a choice. Know that if you don't want one, that's ok, because there is no evidence that shows that routine vaginal examinations improve outcomes - in fact, it's more likely to be the opposite. Women are juggling a lot at every age and stage, from engaging with exciting opportunities and caring for aging parents to raising kids and showing up for all the extras like bake sales and school events. With everything on our plates, it's easy to miss the signs of stress and burnout. We keep pushing through until our bodies start to whisper (or shout) that something's off, and for many women, it begins in the pelvic floor. So much of our well-being comes down to nervous system regulation, and the pelvic floor is more connected to this than most people realize. It's tied into things like anxiety, migraines, neck pain, even voice and immune issues. When we recognize those signs, we can start to care for ourselves and our patients in a deeper, more effective way.Today I'm excited to introduce you to Dr. Sara Reardon, a board-certified pelvic health therapist better known as The Vagina Whisperer. Sara is also the author of the upcoming book, Floored: A Woman's Guide to Pelvic Floor Health at Every Age and Stage. If you've ever thought about being a thought leader in the area of women's health you're most interested in, you will want to hear all about the trajectory of Sarah's remarkable career. In this episode, Sara and I discuss her journey from working in hospitals and private practices to founding her own practice, why she created an online pelvic floor workout program, how she grew her social media platform, why we need to empower women to take charge of their health, the challenges of writing a book, the need for innovative healthcare approaches, how we can create more accessible resources, and more.Enjoy the episode, and let's innovate and integrate together!---Learn more or watch the video version of this conversation at https://integrativewomenshealthinstitute.com/meet-the-vagina-whisperer-and-what-your-clients-need-to-know-about-their-pelvic-floors/.Connect with me and access our entire platform at IntegrativeWomensHealthInstitute.com (https://integrativewomenshealthinstitute.com/). Ep 143 Description: “Get yourself love high, as high as you can! Try and focus on getting you all loved up because then you're going to get triggered less when you have a child.” —Tamra Mercieca The pelvic floor is the unsung hero of the female body - a complex network of muscles that play a pivotal role in pregnancy, childbirth, and overall well-being. Yet, for too long, this intimate area has been shrouded in shame and disconnection. Yoga for the vagina offers a powerful antidote, helping women cultivate a deeper awareness and relationship with the pelvis. By releasing tension and fear, this practice unlocks greater ease, pleasure, and power during life's most transformative experiences. Tamra Mercieca is a women's health expert who has dedicated over 20 years to helping women reclaim their power and fall in love with themselves. As the host of the "I Love Me with Tamra Mercieca" podcast and the founder of the "Getting Naked" online school, Tamra shares transformative practices for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. Debra and Tamra explore how releasing fear, cultivating self-love, and using intentional practices can make birth a more easeful and empowering experience, while also revealing opportunities for personal growth through the parenting journey. I even share a daily Kegel workout you can do easily every day to change yours too!
