Todaywe're continuing in Luke 23:32-34. These three verses introduce us to Jesusbeing on the cross at Golgotha. This is one of the most special passages ofScripture in the Bible. All the Bible in the Old Testament points to this time,and all the time after this, points back to this time. This is the center andfocal point of eternity. This is where God Himself, who has taken on humanflesh, dies on a cross for all humanity. Jesus, God manifest in the flesh, camefor this very purpose and hour. Even while Jesus is suffering one of the mostcruel and painful deaths a human can experience, He is expressing compassionfor other Ithad been prophesied in Isaiah 53:12 that the Suffering Servant would be "numberedwith the transgressors". Jesus Himself mentioned this passage on Hisway to the cross in Luke 22:37. This is fulfilled by the fact that twocriminals were crucified with Jesus, men who were robbers according to Matthew27:38. The Greek word means "one who uses violence to rob openly," incontrast to the thief who secretly enters a house and steals. These two men mayhave been guilty of armed robbery involving murder. Lukepoints out in verse 33 that Jesus “was crucified in a place called Calvary”.The name Calvary comes from the Latin calvaria which means "askull." (The Greek is kranion, which gives us the English word cranium,and the Aramaic word is Golgotha.) The name is not explained in the NewTestament. The site may have resembled a skull, as does "Gordon'sCalvary" near the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. Or perhaps the namesimply grew out of the ugly facts of execution. There are many who believe thatJesus was crucified and buried in a place in Old City Jerusalem that today is knownas the “Church of the Holy Sepulchre”, which is one of the most visited touristsites in all the world. At Gordon's Tomb, the guides always remind us that thewhether the place is there or at the church site, the main thing is that Jesuswas crucified. OurLord was crucified about 9 a.m. and remained on the cross until 3 p.m.; andfrom noon to 3 p.m., there was darkness over all the land (Mark 15:25, 33).Jesus spoke seven times during those six terrible hours: "Father,forgive them" (Luke 23:34). "Todayyou will be with Me in paradise" (Luke 23:43). "Woman,behold your son" (John 19:25-27).(Thenthe three hours of darkness when Jesus is silent) "MyGod, My God, why have you forsaken Me?" (Matt. 27:46) "Ithirst" (John 19:28). "Itis finished!" (John 19:30) "Father,into Your hands I commit My spirit" (Luke 23:46).  Lukerecorded only three of these seven statements, the first, the second, and thelast. Our Lord's prayer for His enemies, and His ministry to a repentant thief,fit in well with Luke's purpose to show Jesus Christ as the sympathetic,compassionate Son of man who cared for the needy. Whilethey were nailing Him to the cross, He repeatedly prayed, "Father, forgivethem; for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34). Not only was Hepracticing what He taught (Luke 6:27-28), but He was fulfilling prophecy andmaking "intercession for the transgressors" (Isaiah 53:12). Wemust not infer from His prayer that ignorance is a basis for forgiveness, orthat those who sinned against Jesus were automatically forgiven because Heprayed. Certainly, both the Jews and the Romans were ignorant of the enormityof their sin, but that could not absolve them. The Law provided a sacrifice forsins committed ignorantly, but there was no sacrifice for deliberatepresumptuous sin (Ex. 21:14; Num. 15:27-31; Ps. 51:16-17). It is possible thatit was our Lord's intercession that postponed God's judgment on the nation foralmost forty years, giving them additional opportunities to be saved (Acts3:17-19).  Christ'slove and compassion is still being expressed today giving us ample time torepent and be saved. Godbless!

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus American churches are being attacked A trend of American churches being attacked appears to be emerging, reports International Christian Concern. On April 24, a Texas woman, identified as Natasha Marie O'Dell, pleaded guilty to intentionally setting fire to Seattle Laestadian Lutheran Church in Snohomish County, Washington, on August 25, 2023.  The blaze destroyed much of the church, and damage to the property was placed at $3.2 million. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, O'Dell admitted to telling “various acquaintances that she was angry about churches and specifically with [that one].” An Arizona man, identified as Zimnako Salah, was found guilty of a hate crime on April 3, 2025, after he targeted Christian churches with bomb threats. Salah intentionally attempted to intimidate Christians because of their faith, according to a special finding from a federal jury.  After visiting four churches in Arizona, California, and Colorado, Salah left backpacks at two of them to cause fear among congregants. Although there were no bombs in the packs, improvised explosive device components were found in Salah's storage unit. The man had also consumed violent videos of the Islamic State group on social media. In John 15:18, Jesus said, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me first.” FBI closes the case on Jeffrey Epstein The late Jeffrey Epstein was an American financier and child sex offender who assaulted 36 girls, some as young as 14, reported the Miami Herald.  For years, it's been rumored that Epstein did not act alone, but trafficked these girls to his prominent and wealthy male clients. Allegedly, Epstein used such a list to blackmail them. In an unsigned DOJ/FBI memo, which was released Sunday, July 6th, it says, “This systematic review revealed no incriminating ‘client list.' There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions.” The memo also said, “After a thorough investigation, FBI investigators concluded that Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City on August 10, 2019. This conclusion is consistent with previous findings, including the August 19, 2019 autopsy. …  From the time Epstein was locked in his cell at around 10:40 pm on August 9, 2019, until around 6:30 am the next morning, nobody entered any of the tiers in the Special Housing Unit.” Homosexual abortionist gets slap on wrist for leaving "half" of baby inside woman An Illinois abortionist -- who left up to “half” of an aborted baby inside a woman and a coin-sized hole in her uterus  -- will be allowed to resume his practice after paying a $5,000 fine and undergoing extra medical education, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Back in March, LifeSiteNews covered the case of Equity Clinic founder and medical director Dr. Keith Reisinger-Kindle, once the subject of fawning media coverage for promoting so-called abortion “access” and people's “safety.” According to a lawsuit by an unidentified ex-client from Indiana, the abortionist had allegedly violated that commitment to patient safety in dramatic fashion. In April 2023, a pregnant mother went to abortionist Reisinger-Kindle for an abortion at approximately 22 weeks. After she called the next day to complain of cramping, she was told to take a painkiller. However, when she went to the Community Hospital South Emergency Room in Indianapolis,  physicians subsequently found fetal remains in her right pelvis, which had to be surgically removed, as well as a uterine hole roughly the size of a quarter or half-dollar. The woman's lawsuit says, “The patient was found to have half of a deceased pre-born human being, in the right pelvis of the patient, with evidence of severe and intentional trauma. The skull was crushed and no brain was present.” Isaiah 59:7 describes abortionist Keith Reisinger-Kindle and his ilk well. “Their feet rush into sin; they are swift to shed innocent blood. They pursue evil schemes; acts of violence mark their ways.” Leftist argues Dems should become “pro-porn” party to win back men And finally, a left-wing writer who is emphatically pro-abortion and pro-homosexual, recently actually argued that the Democrats should style themselves as the “pro-porn” party to win back ground on the “free speech” platform and entice young men away from the Republicans, reports Elizabeth Johnston, the Activist Mommy. In a bizarre commentary for The Nation, that's on par with a satire piece, writer Elie Mystal states that the Democrats should strategically embrace pornography, saying there's “an opportunity here for the Left to pick up the banner of free speech. An opportunity to become the ‘porn party.'” Responding to the Supreme Court's decision in Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton, which upheld Texas's requirement for age-verification on porn sites, Mystal cited the tired old cliché of Republican hypocrisy to make the case for embracing porn as a political strategy. In Proverbs 7:10, 21-26, King Solomon warns his son of the seductive ways of an immoral woman. In many ways, his warnings are equally applicable to the lure of pornography.  It says, “Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent. ... With persuasive words she led him astray;  she seduced him with her smooth talk. All at once, he followed her like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer stepping into a noose till an arrow pierces his liver, like a bird darting into a snare,  little knowing it will cost him his life. “Now then, my sons, listen to me;  pay attention to what I say. Do not let your heart turn to her ways  or stray into her paths. All content is for educational and public safety awareness purposes*)-Fresno, California — On May 7, 2025, the Fresno Police Department received reports that a man, later identified as 31-year-old Martin Campos, had physically assaulted his ex-girlfriend and that he was chasing her and her 3-year-old daughter as they drove southbound on Freeway 41. During the pursuit, Campos rammed his car into the victim's vehicle and pointed a gun at her, threatening to kill her. Officers located the vehicles stopped at a traffic light near Jensen Avenue and Highway 99. As an officer approached, Campos fired at least one round at the victim, prompting the officer to return fire. The child was in the rear passenger's side. The woman reacted to the gunfire by putting the car into reverse, but collided with the sergeant's patrol car. Campos then fled the scene, striking two nearby vehicles before surrendering to police. The sergeant chased the car as Campos tries to escape, that's when the sergeant fired his gun. Campos placed his hands out of the window and was arrested without being hit by gunfire. The woman who was pistol whipped and two other people in other cars struck by Campos were transported to an area hospital with injuries that weren't considered serious. The victim's child, who was in the backseat, was examined by EMS at the scene and was not physically harmed during the incident. Campos has been charged with 11 counts including attempted murder on the woman as well as several more child abuse and firearms crimes by the Fresno County District Attorney's Office. If convicted on all charges and enhancements, Campos faces a maximum sentence of 35 years, 8 months, plus life with the possibility of parole in state prison. Campos remains in custody.
