The company is seeking damages of €15,000 to pay for costs associated with the unexpected stop. Recovery from a financial wipeout is never easy, but there is always the danger of repeating the past patterns.  My guest on the show today is a serial entrepreneur, and has started nine separate companies, she had an amazing journey through these different projects. Like all of our storytellers on this show, there is much to be discovered in the rebuilding process. Silja Thor was born in Iceland; after finishing high school, the plan was to go to university and get a job in international development. However, she decided to put uni on hold, take a job as an Air Hostess and travel for a year. It was 2004 she was 21years old and living in Edinburgh when she started her first business in telecoms, it was very successful. She was young and naive and did not understand VAT, but it all worked out. By 2006 she had exited the company and returned to Iceland because it was booming; she opened a new business connecting trade services. By 2008  she was employing staff, and everything was going in the right direction. There was a little bit of sadness with a breakup with a business partner, but she bought him out, and the only way was up. The Prime minister said, “God bless Iceland.”  The financial crash in October 2008 took her business, her saving and her home. Our conversation is a recovery story, but it is about how you recover and rebuild. Silja was in danger of repeating past errors by creating a business that would again consume her.   A few years on, now living in the Netherlands and with a new successful business, newly divorced and a single Mum. She noticed that her daughter was always the last one to leave daycare and that she was missing her growing up. That realisation changed her perspective; it changed how she does business and how she runs her life.  Today Silja Thor is a business mentor, speaker & author who helps clients build successful and profitable businesses without sacrificing personal lives. From the skies as an Air Hostess to running the family farm, Terri Wheeler never thought she'd become a full time farmer. Along with many regional Australian women, Terri's story is about falling in love with a country man. After meeting her husband Gav, she moved from the city to the country where they began raising four daughters. But in 2010, Terri's life was turned upside down when Gav passed away on a remote dirt road 50 kilometres from the nearest hospital. Left to run the 12,000 acre property with her four young children, this isn't a story about sadness but resilience and how one woman finds the inner strength to continue her and Gav's shared dream. Along with 46-year-old Kanda, his close aide and employee Aruna Chadha, 40, will also face trial for similar charges. The court also on its own framed charges under section 376 (rape) and 377 (unnatural sex) of IPC against Kanda. Chadha was also charged under section 376 and section 109 (abetting of commission of offence) IPC. The charges of rape, unnatural sex and its abetment were framed against Kanda and Chadha by the court on the basis of material on record even though the police had not booked them under these penal provisions. They have also been charged with offence of forgery with intention to cheat and harm the reputation of the victim. eetika, a former air hostess, who was earlier employed with Kanda's MDLR airlines, was found dead on August 5 at her Ashok Vihar residence in North West Delhi. In her August 4 suicide note, she had said she was ending her life due to "harassment" by Kanda and Chadha. Kanda was forced to resign from his post of minister of state for home in Haryana following the registration of the case. The court, while framing charges, said that incriminating materials placed by the police, prima facie established that Kanda has "repeatedly committed rape" upon the deceased during her employment with MDLR and this fact was reflected by her behaviour of leaving the organisation again and again. But from an early age had only one dream: to become a flight attendant. At that time, Swiss Air was the big goal and everything she did only resulted in the fulfilment of this one goal. She moved to Brighton for several months to learn English. French was also a must to be accepted into Swiss Air, so she moved to French-speaking Switzerland, working as a nurse in a hospital, making money and learning French. Then in May 1988 the time had come. Susanne started my training as an Air Hostess. By 1990 she climbed swiftly through the ranks to become a purser. By the end of 1993 she was appointed Maitre de Cabine on long haul at only 28 years old and the youngest M / C on the entire SwissAir fleet. Today, still flying at Swiss Air as a first class flight attendant for family reasons, Susanne is a lady with a great zest for life and with many great stories to tell. But she was determined and moved to Mumbai.   But she believed in the power of her dreams and today she is working as an Air Hostess.
