Grow and monetise your podcast to six and seven figures: https://app.iclosed.io/e/voics/incubatorGenerate high-quality leads from a podcast each month: https://voics.kit.com/qualified-leadsLara Acosta built a business that hit seven figures in record time. From the outside, it looked perfect:The money was flowingThe audience was growingEverything she worked for had finally materializedBut inside? It felt completely different. She found herself buried in pressure. The systems she built to create freedom started feeling like traps. And the success she thought would bring fulfillment came with heavier sacrifices. We talked about the reality of scaling—something no one tells you:The emotional weight of running a fast-growing businessThe trade-offs you have to make to sustain the growthThe personal sacrifices no one seesIt's not the fairy tale of overnight success. It's what happens when the business you built begins to own you instead of the other way around. Here's what Lara realized:Scaling doesn't fix everything; it amplifies everything. You have to stay in control of your systems—because if you don't, they'll control you.The most successful entrepreneurs are the ones who constantly refine, adapt, and make space to breathe. If you're chasing seven figures, ask yourself:Are you building something that works for you?Or something that will consume you? This podcast is the most personal, raw, and honest conversation we've had. It's about what really happens behind the scenes of success—and what it takes to get your life back while keeping the growth.Connect with Lara: https://www.linkedin.com/in/laraacostar/(00:00) Preview(01:25) Embracing the Girl Boss Persona(02:20) Challenges of Personal Branding for Women(04:17) The Power of Specialization(07:18) The Artist's Dilemma: Creativity vs. Productivity(09:28) Recognizing Personal Growth(10:21) Impact of Confidence in Entrepreneurship(15:43) The Ego Trap in Storytelling(17:28) Why Podcasts Are The Future(20:51) Overcoming Alcohol and Finding Clarity(25:20) The Power of Fitness and Discipline(28:26) The Reality of Online Businesses(30:52) Persuasion vs. Manipulation in Marketing(32:15) The Problem with Generic Cold DMs(33:39) Discord, Crypto, and the Power of Memes(39:51) Spirituality, Religion and Internal Work(44:23) Why Every Business Needs Content(45:26) The Science behind Manifestation(50:36) Developing a Business Mindset(53:10) Experimenting with Psychedelics (58:20) Realizations on Seeking Validation(01:00:49) Parental & Societal Expectations(01:10:28) Lara Acosta's Social Media Strategy (01:17:52) Relocating and Gaining Personal freedom(01:24:28) Designing your Dream LifeSupport the show

Generate high-quality leads from a podcast each month: https://voics.kit.com/qualified-leadsMost creators fail before they even start. Why?Because they jump straight into creating content without a clear premise, strategy, or system. This week, I sat down with Jay Clouse for my second Dubai podcast. (And my second podcast with Jay.)Here's what we broke down:- How to build a profitable content business in 2025- Create a repeatable system that turns content into revenue- Avoid the #1 mistake keeping creators stuck in the hustleWhat we covered:- Your premise is your foundation.- If your content isn't legible, interesting, and differentiated, you'll struggle to stand out in the sea of creators.- Non-linear returns.- One well-executed piece of content can deliver a 10X or even 100X impact.- It's not about creating more content—it's about creating smarter content.- Focus on transformation, not just value.- Your content should solve real problems and create tangible results for your audience—not just add more noise.Jay shared why most creators fail to gain traction and revealed the systems he's built to scale his content and community without burning out.If you want to build a creator business in 2025, this podcast is for you.Connect with Jay Clouse: https://www.instagram.com/jayclouse/(00:00) Preview (00:40) Building Creator Science with Jay Clouse(01:14) Defining Your Premise as a Creator(03:08) Jay Clouse's Creator Framework(06:40) Why You Should Avoiding Niche Hopping(08:15) The Science-Driven Approach to Content Creation(12:32) The Evolution of YouTube's Algorithm(15:45) How to Optimize for Clicks(20:20) The Benefits of High-Quality Content(23:18) Audience Targeting: YouTube vs. Audio Podcast(25:14) Crafting the Perfect Titles and Thumbnails(31:20) Leveraging Email For Audience Engagement (36:18) Why Audio Podcast Listeners Are More Engaged(38:13) How to Build Personal Authority (41:36) How to Grow Communities (45:47) Connecting YouTube to Business Goals(50:26) The Power of Small Group Experiences(55:41) Pricing Strategies for Membership Growth(58:13) Scaling Communities Efficiently Support the show

In this episode, we sit down with Darren Lee, the visionary owner of DNA Creative Homes and the mastermind behind the Albion Quarters in Carlton Landing. These six stunning brick homes, located on Park Street and Twinkle Lane, exude a charming European vibe. One of them, 37A—originally named "La Ferme" (The Farmhouse) by Darren—is now lovingly called The Lodge on Twinkle Lane, our family retreat. I've been so impressed with the unique style and craftsmanship of our home that it sparked my curiosity about the other Albion homes. I wanted to uncover the stories and inspiration behind them all, and Darren didn't disappoint. In this episode, Darren walks us through each of the six homes, sharing their unique names, the design inspirations, and fascinating behind-the-scenes details about the materials and artistry that went into creating them. These homes are truly a blend of heart and creativity. Three of the six Albion homes are available to rent: The Lodge on Twinkle Lane (37A Park, owned by the Coleman family) St. Charles Place (35C Park, owned by the Creel family) Press Pause (37B Park, owned by the Phelps family) I've also created a blog post with links to these homes, so you can plan a stay with your family and friends right in the heart of Carlton Landing. Welcome back... After a while away we return with Jim having a rough couple of weeks, Elton discussing The Bear, Darren & Lee catch up with Babylon 5 The Road Home, The Flash, Barbie and for his sins Lee also gets taken to see The Meg 2 and learns about the crush resistance of a deviated septum. Then after some hastily cobbled together jingles (thanks fruit based megacorp for the obligatory third party legal requirement buy in) we move on to this weeks film... A gibbering mess of mid 80s warehouse sets, stolen film footage, bikinis, hula hoop space discos, interpretive dance, random evil laughing and "thrilling" cardboard pedal car chases. BLUEBERRY SMOOTHIE, 19min., UK, Romance Drama Directed by Darren Lee Murphy Karl wakes from yet another dream about his ex, Brad. When making Brad's favourite blueberry smoothie he is confronted by the past when Brad appears and challenges Karl over the failure for Karl to move on. Memories, both good and bad, bombard Karl's mind taunting him and making him continue to long and fantasise over what he had with Brad. http://www.makingproductions.com/ https://instagram.com/Make_Prods Get to know the filmmaker: During the pandemic I penned an outline for a feature film based on the breakup with my ex. There is a scene about him making a Blueberry Smoothie and at that time I really wasn't a fan of them and I thought I write a short about it. I knew I wanted to turn my creativity towards film – from a theatre background – and thought a good first step would be to write a short and see if it's any good and see how that goes. From my own emotional experiences during the breakup and withdrawal process I was able to tap into my real life experiences and write the film. I didn't know at the time if I actually wanted to make it, let alone play the lead role and direct the film. I approached Anto Cassu and Gary Dedman for ideas on music for the film and they both donated such perfect songs to the project. It's moments like these that inspire me to want to make more films. You can sign up for the 7 day free trial at www.wildsound.ca (available on your streaming services and APPS). Today's conversation is another roundtable discussion with two guests. One of whom you have heard from before and one who is new to CamBro Conversations, at least publicly. I am joined by Darren Lee, host of the Kick Off Sessions Podcast and Operations Manager in Wealth and Trading at Revolut and by David McIntosh, award winning Management Consultant and the host of the Development By David Podcast. We sat down at the end of 2022 while Darren was back from Singapore in the UK and Ireland to look at our predictions and expectations for 2023. Expect to hear whether we are feeling bullish (positive) or bearish (and negative) about a huge range of areas. These include investments, platforms, employment, mindset, personal brands, finances, and so much more. I loved sitting down with these two as we have our own Podcast Group chat where we have shared guests, software, video editors, and so much advice with each other over the last 9 months. Today's conversation is with Darren Lee, host of the Kick Off Sessions Podcast and Operations Manager in Wealth and Trading at Revolut. Darren's made significant career moves within the corporate world after struggling to find fulfilment in one of his first roles after graduating. I ask about the process behind this and how it led to Darren starting his podcast Kick Off Sessions, which is now the largest Careers podcast in Ireland. Darren's show offers expert advice to young professionals to help them gain more from their career. Expect to learn about Darren's own career journey and the stand out lessons about career development from over 80 episodes on Kick Off Sessions. There is lots to this conversation including fulfilment, mindset, self development sources, and career mentoring. Given Darren juggles his full time career and creating content as well as a passion for bodybuilding, I ask about time management but more importantly energy management to prevent burnout. This was really interesting for us both to talk about using our mental bandwidth. Lastly, Darren shares his experience with hair loss and the actions he taken to reverse this. This includes things he has stopped doing as well as started. Today's podcast is supported and sponsored by The Physio Clinic Glasgow. The Physio Clinic Glasgow was established by Arran and Robb, who have previously appeared on episode 72 to do some myth busting in the Physio world, as well as share practical approaches to managing and preventing injuries. Arran and Robb wanted to create a service that brought a proactive and evidence based approach to dealing with injuries and pain. They provide a bespoke assessment and treatment process which allows you address your issue whilst keeping physically active - no more 'just rest it and wait!'. They ensure their clients keep doing what they love - lifting, running or playing their sport. They are based in Glasgow out of a fully stocked rehab facility but for listeners outwith the locality can still access their service with consultations via video call. But producing a podcast is more than pressing the record button and talking to a guest. Therefore, it is critical for every company looking to create a sustainable and results-oriented content strategy to partner with professionals. However, sometimes, finding quality requires diving into the global talent pool. In this episode of Recorded Content, our host Tristan Pelligrino shares segments from his appearance on Kickoff Sessions, a podcast hosted by Darren Lee. One of the things he talked about were the steps, challenges, and benefits of hiring internationally.

Tracey Gatling stops by WAGM Studio. Tracey Gatling son (Bruce Boone) was involved in the murder and robbery of Darren Lee 28 of Franklin, Va. "Lil Bruce" was sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role in this crime. He now has been in prison for the last 12 years. Tracey spoke from the "other side" as a mother who son was involved in gun violence leading to the death of someone. While her son was involved she feels sorry for what the young man family may be going through. She also states that "her son feels remorseful" for what happened. Tracey feels that if the mother of Lee wanted to talk with her that she is open to it and would let her speak whatever she wanted to her. Often times we hear from the victims family and friends meanwhile; the offender has family and friends as well who care about them. Both families are hurt, filled with anger, frustration and etc. when something like this happens and hopefully from this episode people will gain a level of understanding for both sides. HURT is HURT and we are empathic to these issues as well as praying for healing for EVERYONE. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information. A Valentine's Day release with two incredible artists, Jody Reynard and David Bushman! Immensely talented and incredibly humble, our guests this week talk about the road to Broadway for each of them. JODY REYNARD has been dancing non-stop for almost 30 years!! He has taught musical theatre/Broadway dance classes at dance studios, intensives and educational institutions around the country. He attended the Cobb Center Excellence for in the Performing Arts outside of Atlanta, GA and graduated with a dance major. From there, his regional theatre career began with dancing roles in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, On the Twentieth Century at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, CT and Mame at the Papermill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. Soon thereafter he caught the eye of the late Ann Reinking at an open audition and made his Broadway debut in Fosse, dancing featured specialties such as “From the Edge,” “Rich Man's Frug,” and the “Take Off with Us” adage. Other credits include the Broadway companies of Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, Legally Blonde, Taboo, Saturday Night Fever and the national touring companies of Camelot, Kiss Me Kate, My Fair Lady, Memphis and Chicago. He served as swing and dance captain for the new musical, Roman Holiday, in its pre-Broadway tryout at the Golden Gate Theater in San Francisco, CA. Jody has worked as an assistant choreographer for Denis Jones, Josh Prince, Alex Sanchez and Darren Lee. He can also be seen dancing behind six-time Tony Award winner, Audra McDonald, in the movie musical, Hello Again! He received a BFA in Dance from University of North Carolina School of the Arts. While still studying there, David was asked to join the professional company, North Carolina Dance Theatre (NCDT, now known as Ballet Charlotte). He traveled the country with NCDT and danced leading roles in works by the great George Balanchine and the company's director, Salvatore Aiello. He was then invited to audition for FeldBallets/NY (now known as Ballet Tech) and was hired into the company. For the next three years, he was featured in the vast repertoire of Eliot Feld. David then went on to dance for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in Montreal, Canada. There, he danced works by renowned choreographers Jiri Kylian, Nacho Duato, Ohad Naharin and many others. Since retiring from concert dance, David has been associated with the hit revival of CHICAGO since 2003. All the world's a stage. If only that actually were true. It might just be a more respectful place. The truth is that the medium of theater is a very particular thing. It's an art form woefully underserved when shown via other media. The theater is about history. It's about context. It's about a very truly ancient understanding of how things will go. People show up to a space. The lights go down. And then, for whatever length of time, there is an agreement. There is a decorum. The audience holds space – and holds their tongue to a certain degree – while stories unfold. You may agree. You may disagree. There is, of course, response (applause, laughter, etc…) and regardless you sit in the dark until it has finished and at the end, there is time to discuss. Good theater is about more than a story. Good theater is about shining a light on where we've been, where we are, and perhaps where we may go. Few theater companies understand the depth and breadth of history like SOHO Playhouse. This venerable Off-Broadway theater sits literally in a spot steeped with history from the very start of the United States. Darren Lee Cole, the Producing Artistic Director of SOHO Playhouse speaks all about their historic context and the very exciting expansion for them to what might at first, feel like an unlikely place – Las Vegas, NV. In 2021, in partnership with a local developer, SOHO Playhouse announced that they will be driving the revitalization of the historic Huntridge Theater. In this conversation, Darren talks about the place theater plays in the world, the move to Las Vegas and lessons about boundaries from a cat named Chris. What does leadership actually mean in today's world? Good questions, right? That's what Cathy Brooks, thought. And it's why she created Talk, Unleashed – a new podcast of entirely candid conversations with fascinating people doing remarkable things. This weekly podcast will feature guests from arts and entertainment to business to technology to food to activism to politics (well, we'll see on that last one). Talk Unleashed invites these influencers to consider the things that have led them to where they are, the lessons they've learned, and how all those things can come together to create a better world. #theater #offbroadway #huntridgetheater #sohoplayhouse #hamilton #aaronburr #leadership #TalkUnleashed #UnleashedConversation #UnleashedLeadership #FixYourEndofTheLeash

Today's episode discusses staffing agencies and how they affect your company's liability. Brad and Bobby, along with guest speaker Darren Lee from Proofpoint, discuss the changing IT landscape, as well as how Proofpoint is using technology in an innovative way to grow the business. Together, these tech experts analyze the role of technology within Proofpoint and how they've made it work for them. Tune into this week's episode to find out more about how technology can be used in an innovative way to help you grow your business! “The expectation of any technology company is in order to survive to grow, inherent in the model is it has to be a disruptor. And so, we stare at two things when we talk about disruption. For us, number one, you've got to be changing a prior mode of behavior or a mode of taking action with something brand new and different. The second is equally important. In order to be sustainable, the business model too must be disruptive and support the new innovation.” Brad Anderson, CEO of TechBridge, a Salt Lake City IT staffing company, and Bobby Glen James, Author, Speaker, and founder of BoTecha IT Support, along with Darren Lee, discuss Proofpoint's use of technology and how it “bucks the system.” Hear what these tech experts have to say on the subject in this week's episode of the New IT podcast, “Proofpoint.” For more information on IT staffing and recruiting in Salt Lake City, visit https://techbridgeinc.com For more information about proofpoint visit https://www.proofpoint.com

On today's show, I speak with Darren Lee, a director, choreographer, and performer. Darren has had quite the career, from winning the first-ever Junior Star Search, to being in the original Broadway cast of Miss Saigon, to reconnecting with Lea Salonga in 2015's Allegiance, to being on tour in the UK as the King in The King and I when covid shut the world down. For a full transcript of this episode visit beyondthelightspodcast.com.Mentioned in this Episode[00:03:43] Star Search[00:04:41] Kids Incorporated [00:06:06] Shogun[00:09:05] The Battle of Miss Saigon: Yellowface, Art, and Opportunity [00:24:48] Red Bucket Follies [00:24:53] Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AidsFollow DarrenWebsiteInstagramFollow Beyond the LightsWebsiteFacebookTwitterInstagram

I interviewed Darren Lee 5 days before the very sad passing of the "Bay City Rollers" lead singer Les McKeown. After learning of this I contacted Darren to see if he still wanted his interview to be released, given the fact that he obviously talks about being the "Bay City Rollers" drummer. Darren appreciated being given the choice and decided to still go ahead with it knowing that Les would have wanted him to. Les was the sort of person who enjoyed promoting his fellow band members and would want Darren to go on as if he were still here. Darren has generously provided some recordings from the last tour that they were on in Canada in March 2020, the band was part way through this tour when the remaining dates were cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, sadly this tour which was to recommence in the UK in July 2021, will no longer be going ahead. Darren was born in the UK and began playing drums in bands while living in Adelaide, South Australia. He decided to move back to the UK 15 years ago to pursue his career as a professional touring and session drummer. Darren shares many great stories throughout his interview, including the story about his first tour to Germany as Gwyn Ashton's drummer, and how that tour was to eventually lead to him becoming the drummer for the "Bay City Rollers" many years later! Music: throughout this interview you will hear Darren playing live with the "Bay City Rollers", songs include "Bye Bye Baby", "Let's Go", "Remember", "All Of Me" and "Shang-A-Lang." Darren also plays with 2 other original bands and has provided a song from each, both are played during the interview. "Queen Of The Ride" by Weapon UK and "Ghost Hound Rider" by Mike Ross. One of the most important reasons anyone pursues a career in theatre is because they had a teacher that inspired them. Through tough love, intense compassion, or a combination of the two, that one person can be the spark for an artist to believe in themselves, their voice and their abilities. This month, we’re collaborating with a new online training site called PassDoor. Founded by Broadway ensemblists, they’re connected seasoned performers with every socio-economic and geographic corner of the world, so that any striving artist can access tte training and mentorship they need. We asked PassDoor instructors to share the stories of their favorite teachers - the ones that inspired them to hone their craft and eventually make it to Broadway. Learn more about your ad choices. Darren Lee Broadway’s Backbone is a podcast dedicated to the men and woman of the ensemble: the chorus of dancers, singers, and actors that are the foundation of every Broadway musical. These often-unsung gypsies are the hardest working people on the boards and are Broadways backbone. Each episode interviews a Broadway vet about their life, career and dreams, but also delves into the real topics that aren’t always shared. The life of a gypsy maybe full of passion, but not always filled with glamour. Each guest shares intimate details about their journey. There is no mud slinging, but a maybe a little dirt. It’s hosted by Brad Bradley, a Broadway Performer himself, he has worked with most of the guests, so he knows what questions to ask. It’s a real look into the life that so many kids dream of. This podcast is in honor of the folks of the ensemble and the people who plan to be them. Artwork by-Guy Smith

Ohio State Linebacker Josh Perry joins the show to discuss his time at Ohio State. Not just the good times, but also the bad. How a Big Ten Championship and Orange Bowl loss in 2013 helped catapult the 2014 team to the 1st Undisputed National Title in College Football history. We discuss his recruitment and development as a Buckeye and how he transformed from a “soft suburban kid” into a three-year starter, captain and All Big Ten Linebacker. It is a remarkable conversation from a kid who I didn’t know if he would last a season at OSU, let alone need a trophy case for his awards. Out of all of the great players on OSU’s roster, find out who Josh Perry thinks is the best and what it has been like to play for Coach Meyer. We also share stories about Coach Fickell and how vital he has been to the defense. Topics: Ohio State 2012-2015 The most talented Buckeye as per Josh Perry Playing with other terrific linebacker in Darren Lee and Raekwon McMillan How the defeats in 2013 made 2014 a possibility
