And there is no place, especially now, especially after what happened to Charlie, in our society. We will absolutely target you, go after you, if you are targeting anyone with hate speech." But isn't that a First Amendment violation? 6:10pm- Bizarrely, AG Bondi doubled down on her controversial statement via a post to X: “Hate speech that crosses the line into threats of violence is NOT protected by the First Amendment. It's a crime. For far too long, we've watched the radical left normalize threats, call for assassinations, and cheer on political violence. That era is over.” 6:20pm- Rich notes, Brandenburg v. Ohio (1969) established a three-pronged standard that speech advocating illegal action is not protected by the First Amendment if and ONLY if: 1. Intent—The speaker must intend to incite or produce lawless action. 2. Imminence—The lawless action must be imminent, meaning that it's expected to occur right away rather than at some indefinite future time. 3.
