In this pandemic age of insecurity, business owners today are facing a stream of uncertainty and dented income. As a real-estate investor, there may be a lot of times now you have to struggle with stress, due to a recession in your business. Even our own lives are at stake– with this COVID-19 virus lingering around endangering households. Presently, there may be already a lot of methods, solutions, or indefinite pathways to get by with this pandemic recession – but one thing. That something will be our discussion with our guest couple today – Paki and Sandy Judson. Let’s talk about these two family-oriented people from Miami who always had big dreams but down to earth people who – with strong emphasis on spirituality, obedience to God and generosity to people – were able to get back up in the most uncertain years of their lives.Sandy grew up with none of those entrepreneurial backing or business directions from her family; she just wanted to finish college and get a job. Not until she saw Paki as an interest, and he came into her life. Paki at a young age of 17, asked Sandy – who’s barely 16 at that time – what’s her goals are. She answered him about her simple dreams which mostly what she saw from Tv – she admits she didn’t know how to dream further than that – not until she married Paki. She understood that she had to let him lead and show her outside of what she didn’t know. Meanwhile, Paki - who’s dad was an architect, a mother who was a teacher, a grandpa who had a daycare, and an uncle who had a carwash service – definitely had some form of entrepreneurship.  His father started a first fully black owned architectural firm in Miami, where he got his first introduction to entrepreneurship as a business owner – those are the foundation his father and grandfather instilled in him.  What lit the fire in Paki realizing that his purpose is bigger than him, was the day after he comforted his friend who lost a mother. His dad died at an early age of 57 after just giving a speech to a ceremony of a building in Miami that his father designed. The death of his father made him realize the need for passive income- his father didn’t have multiple streams of income; the only source was just from an architecture firm where everything depended on his father.Paki and Sandy are pioneers in trucking industry. But before that, there come a time that he wanted to get into the music game industry, make a big name out of it and use the money for real-estate investment. His dad advised to get into real-estate first before getting into music. However, he did the former. What really made him into real-estate was one of the clients he had in his music studio – whom he didn’t charged upon knowing that the project he was doing was for youth groups for the Church. He’s indeed blessed by God, since the person in-charge of that youth group was a big man in real-estate business, whom in turn mentored Paki about real-estate. He walked Paki through out his first two to three deals for free. Fast forward, they ended up going on to do over a million dollars in deals the next year after. They’ve earnt and gained for years not until the year 2008 came. Not having a business mindset, not understanding money management, not having a relationship with their money – they lost it all and became homeless for three years. There were even nights when they had to sleep in the car, or jumping around friend’s and family’s house just to get by.Being humble, open, allowing God to lead them through generous people who later become their grandparents, Paki and Sandy was able to grab an opportunity to get back into their business. The knowledge they had mustered up while industriously working and persevering made them able to be put in a building with other investors that later changed their lives. They became investors, were able to save money for the hotel they owned in Jacksonville that introduced them to trucking business, which in turn made them start HoodEstates™️. In this podcast, Paki and Sandy shared to us how they were able to get back up from a recession in their lives; how they walked through pathways and indefinite routes but still staying faithful that God will guide and lead them to opportunities and success – in hope that you, our dear tribe, will also be able to lean on God for His purpose to you to make you successful in your life as well as real-estate career. So, sit back, dig in, and take notes as the couple shares their touching life-story and wisdom. Here’s What You Missed: Helping People to Dream Big: Show, not ForceYour Purpose is Bigger than youPassive and Multiple Streams of Income – A Necessity NowadaysLean in and walk in God’s Purpose vs TraditionBeing humble, open and ready for OpportunitiesThe Value you Get is based on the Value you GiveTrust Yourself, Love YourselfNo Sacrifice, No Reward Knowledge Nuggets:[03:38] just being a part of one of the biggest moments in other people’s lives – like times when most people are buying and selling a house when getting married or having kids – is really exciting[07:55] …to help someone dream big, or to put a big vision on somebody: show and not try to force it on them. It’s important for people to visualize what they want, and physically go see it.[12:22] “…the vision can be complete; but it doesn’t mean you’re going to go the route that you think is going to go.” You can get to the destination by different routes. It’s like a GPS, to get from here to there – I can take this road, and take that road and end up there…[13:15] “…Your purpose has nothing to do with you. Your purpose is not for you…” The reality of it is – whatever God purposed me to do was for somebody else. Just like somebody else’s’ purpose is for me. So, we were created that way to always need each other.  What I need for me I have to an extent, but the other part is in somebody else.[17:14] That’s what put me into – I got to have passive income. I got to have multiple streams of income, and more importantly, I need the time and freedom to spend with my family, because we never know. You never know when that last day will be[18:00] We decided to change our mindset about life and work; we decided to change how we live.[19:01] Don’t let anybody push tradition on you. Tradition can be such a hindrance because that’s what we were taught, that this is the route you take.[20:05] “We just had to figure it out with God… the only way to figure it out is quiet time.” Everyday is a new day – it’s about our plans. Our mentality, our own direction.[20:21] Proverbs 19:21 – God’s plan is not your plan. He will, if you give it to Him, will tread you in the direction that you’re supposed to go, and it will come easy. That’s what you got to seek, and be still in understanding what God wants you to be. It may take a while, and it’s okay to be scared. Yet, darkness is not scary because God is the light in that room.[25:29] A gem that I always tell people: “You always have to be open to hear from God is never what you think of what you want. You always have to enter into every situation being humble, not because of the person you’re dealing with – but because of the God that you deal with.”[26:20] “We’re not blessed by works. We’re blessed by obedience.” We usually look to receive instead of give. You have to give in order to receive, not expecting it to come from the person who you gave it to.[30:09] If you’re flipping real-estate, there’s nothing wrong with it. But that’s not investing. That’s your real-estate entrepreneur – that you’re not a real-estate investor, because if you stop flipping, it stops happening and the money stops coming in.[32:36] You never take your personal money and put it into business. Not having a business mindset, not understanding money management, not having a relationship with our money…- that’s how we lost. We lost everything on that.[34:16] “Y’all a good seed. Good seeds. Y’all just in a bad soil. And a good seed can’t grow in bad soil. It can’t produce harvest in bad soil.[37:21] There’s still a plan that God has, even when we go wrong. Even when we veer off, when we decided to take our own rout, God still has a plan for our life, regardless of what we do. And He will put you in the places that you need to be, if you just step back and let Him lead. [38:45] We always want something. You want something? Get to work. The opportunity will find you; the blessing will find you. You don’t always have to have the experience as long as you know what you’re doing. [46:10] The value you bring will always dictate what you get.[50:51] I’m not saying you go into business ignorant. What I’m saying is sometimes, knowing too much is what prohibits you. It holds you back too much red-tape; not having to see and know everything before you start. Sometimes you just got to get out there and start, figure things out as you go.[53:39] It was so small back then, but now multiple streams of income are coming in from assets and businesses that we have. It’s nothing we mastered. It was nothing that was taught to us. The obedience and letting God lead will offset your ignorance.  A lot of things that you don’t know and don’t understand will take you in those areas where you normally would have failed at, and allow you to succeed instead.[1:00:05] You can’t put new wine in old wine. Way before we became homeless, God gave us 60 some thousand dollars to start over, but we we’re trying to still try and don’t want to start over. Like I told people, we became homeless way longer than we were supposed to be. This is all hard-headedness. Even though all that worst night and darkest time, God still had us.[1:03:47] Trust yourself. You got to learn how to trust your gut because that’s where your discernment comes from. I can’t give nothing if I haven’t given it to myself first. Anything from life, relationships business, you gotta know you, you gotta trust you. You gotta love you. – Sandy Judson[1:04:39] Stop looking for comfort in the sacrifice. All these stories, was longer than what it should have been. The reason it was longer than what it should have been because in every situation I was trying to find comfort in the sacrifice. No sacrifice = No reward. Get on some good soil. – Paki Judson                [1:10:36] That’s what I would tell that person: If you feel like you don’t have it. It’s okay. Turn off the TV, get off social media, put the phone away, get into a quit room and spend some alone time with you and God. Take steps of faith, be obedient. You’ll know how you’re to know when you try it. Still, go. Do it scared.                [1:11:57] Take a pencil and a paper. Write down all your pros and cons. As you look at them both, stop questioning yourself and understand that it will take some time for you to remove it on bad habits, but you better root for you in the midst of all that.Important Reads and Links: Paki and Sandy Judson’s HoodEstates™️ Webinar:https://hoodestates.clickfunnels.com/webinar?fbclid=IwAR1eFhlxYHWOgxnu-QtkBHIpTrfutsnxOcmUV32TY0MuN1pn8YyjrhEQFB8 HoodEstates™️ Website:           http://hoodestates.com/HoodEstates™️ Instagram:         https://www.instagram.com/hoodestates/HoodEstates™️ Facebook:         https://www.facebook.com/HoodEstates1/HoodEstates™️ Twitter:             https://twitter.com/hoodestates?lang=enHoodEstates™️ YouTube:           https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU-CMevsNbDvQKC2rdC0F7A Love #DreamNation? Betsy Wurzel’s guest on Chatting with Betsy is Dr. Paul Saba, a Canadian and American physician who has lived and practiced on both sides of the border as well as internationally in war-torn and underdeveloped countries. Presently my medical practice is in Montreal, Canada. Being a citizen of both countries has presented me with a unique experience to comment on what’s happening in Canada, the United States, and the world. “Medicare for all” is being debated during the Presidential elections. Despite the noble-sounding words, it is not the “cure-all” that will guarantee quality health care for all Americans. Canada’s healthcare system is an example of socialized medicine and is far from perfect. Dr. Paul Saba is also the author of “Made to Live which describes a physician’s journey to save lives and debunks the myths of abortion, assisted suicide, and euthanasia. The book describes the value of every life whether pre-born, after-birth or anytime along with life’s journey. For more contact information:https://bit.ly/2JHeJku

DN155 - Sarah Fontenot: How To Become The Best Leader You Can Be

Dream Nation

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome” – a quote that’s often misattributed but we kept hearing from great figures because most people keep following or doing things over and over – even if it makes them feel bad to the ground. It is so commonly indoctrinated to us by culture, that we have to just work hard, over and over again – implanting more emphasis on ‘what’ we want to become. Pay attention and listen to our guest today – Sarah Fontenot, she helps to realize how focusing on “who we are becoming” – a mastery of oneself enables you to be efficient and productive in a way that you’re happy and fulfilled. You’ll understand that you got everything you need inside of you to be successful. Let's discuss a bit about her and how she was able to figure out who she wants to be which I know will give us a new level of motivation to keep going for our dreams.Sarah Fontenot is a small-town girl from Regina, Saskatchewan Canada, with a huge vision. She always wanted to be on a higher platform to influence people. She grew up with the same culture as what adults use to say to us: work hard, grind it out don’t stop. She, too, grew up thinking that success looked like being a doctor, lawyer, etc. She didn’t even know what entrepreneurship was in the beginning nor had a family who’s into entrepreneurship. She even had an acting career – where she loves to act but didn’t love the industry. However, her first venture into entrepreneurship was in multi-level marketing where she took the resources, mindset, tools, and lessons and enabled her to build the top 1.6% of that company, travel around the world to speak and do executive leadership, coaching, and investing. As a resilient hustler and avid reader, she was able to teach the things she learned to other people and they started to model after her. That’s when she realized that she was doing the right thing in her life following through with who she is becoming instead of being focused so much on how most people tell her what to do or what to become. However, it’s not a smooth drive to the top – she admits that she’s a perfectionist and she struggled a lot with it. She even had an emotional journey when she had to cancel off an engagement and had to reframe her mind to keep herself going and not giving up. Presently, she is a successful philanthropist and a speaker who’s helping out people to get out on their own way emotionally and mentally for a better life and business. In this podcast, Sarah shared her personal mantras, and experience on how she transitioned from WHAT into WHO she wanted to become, in hope that you, our dear tribe, will also be able to figure out by yourself emotionally and mentally in order for you to break out in life or business. So, sit back, dig in, and take notes as Sarah shares her wisdom. Here’s What You MissedFocus on WHO – instead of WHAT – you wanted to becomeResults matter – not what other people say - about your product or serviceHow circumstances and situations NOT define YOUA Difference between a Hustler or a Worker MentalityHow to deal with the Troubles of Being a PerfectionistHow valuable structures and systems are into one’s businessWhat is Mastery of Oneself, and How it Helps you to live your life happily, and your business successful Knowledge Nuggets:[03:08] A far more powerful question to ask is who do you want to be? Because who you want to become is connected to fulfillment “…for me, like what I think success is, it's not just monetary. I believe that it's your, your physical, your mental, your emotional, your spiritual, and your financial aspects”[04:15] it's usually us stopping ourselves from tapping into the best version of ourselves. That inner self-talk, it’s usually the fears from being indoctrinated in a belief / narrative that we have to life this life based on settling or based on what other people say.[08:15] “…because I know that our families and our loved ones, they're trying to keep us safe in who we are. And instead of seeing us for who we can be”. It’s not because they don’t believe in you or don’t think that you’re great.[08:37] “that’s not for you. You're never going to make it that's for them over there” This family doesn't do that. You need to do this. It may come out in the worst way, but it's really in truly because the people that love you the most, they support you the least.[10:00] You are not your circumstance or your situation. You’ve got to know where you are, it doesn’t matter where you start it. Are you willing to play the game to get to where you want to go?[13:00] Just because you're doing something differently, doesn't mean that you're doing it wrong. So, for me, I always knew like just in my heart, my passion is seeing people break out of themselves - out of the cages that we have in our own minds.[13:50] “…there’s learned knowledge, …applied knowledge, …teaching knowledge, then there’s modeling that knowledge.” Follow the leader, become a leader, create more leaders BUT never stop following the leader – it’s an ongoing thing.[14:35] if you do feel like you’re struggling with doubt or fear, there’s nothing that overcomes doubt or fear like a result. i.e., when you’re selling a product or service, someone can’t just bad-talk it when it does what you say it’s supposed to do or when you’ve gotten results.[16:13] A hustler versus a worker. A worker knows when they go to work, things needed to and follow it. A hustler just makes it happen. Oftentimes they can’t tell you what they did, seems almost like a fluke but it isn’t. It’s actually consistent action done daily to the point that you have done enough of it that you’re getting results.[18:16] In order to be successful in business, you need all three: you’ve gotta do the work, you need structure and systems, and a mindset and energy that keeps you going[25:51] Our identity works very similar to a thermostat. Our identity is set the same way. It will find a way to come back to where it is set at.[28:05] What most people are battling against with is not the strategy, tools and resources, but worthiness. It is the story that we have to change. It’s the identity that we really have to get crystal clear on. Confidence and belief don’t happen overnight, but will happen over time.[31:33] Craziest relationships can get you in rooms that degrees just can’t. Be who you truly are who you say that you are and you keep it real. Just work towards it and God does his thing[32:29] Most people don’t take the time to do the research to dig all the way deep[33:39] Most of the times a product doesn’t really sell because people want to buy from people, they don’t want to buy from the unknown[35:09] in the beginning, when your first starting – ask for support, but don’t expect it. Don’t be afraid to ask for it. Are you putting yourself out there - exposing yourself to enough people?[39:28] It’ll take you longer if you choose because you only have so much energy, you can only focus on so many things. And if you’re trying to focus on multiple things at once, but you’re actually good at them – it’ll just take you longer to build each thing, as opposed to putting crazy amounts of focus into one thing and stemming off one after another.[40:14] the right way is the way that works for you. You have to know yourself; you have to be aware of what you’re bringing to the table.  How do you best operate? What are your peak hours? Do things in a way that works best for you – what makes you full and happy, that’s when you’ll thrive. [46:32] I’ve never met a hater doing better than me. The people that are doing better than you, they want to see you do better.[47:49] Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different outcome. It’s never going to happen; you get to choose. Stop looking at social media, stop allowing the things that people, places, circumstances and your situations to allow you to give it all up. You have to believe and go for it - even if you fail at times.[49:22] A lot of the time people are looking for the one reason why they shouldn’t. However, instead – all you need is one reason why you should. Stop allowing things outside of you to get into your way. Reframe the way you look at things and experiences that had happened to you.[52:07] You just can’t drift to the top of the mountain; you have to intentionally climb. It’s hard during the process, but it’s so worth it – and you are so worthy. Go for it, and give it all. Important Reads and Links: Recommended readings:                The E-Myth by Michael E. Scroll down for details and links Support this Podcast   I had no idea then how different things would be when we first released this recording in March 2020 – living in a world when the Corona Virus was sending us all into lockdown and the sound of a slight cough could set alarm bells ringing. It was the wake-up call of Covid19 that prompted my first Virtual Summit, and as we are re-releasing this recording in November 2020 I am in the midst of co-hosting my 3rd Summit with my wife Cheryl. The theme for this one is more important and significant at this time than it has been at any Can you imagine what it would be like growing up if the shadows in the dark were not figments of your imagination? My guest on today’s show is Jennifer Main – the empathic initiator whose psychic abilities meant that as a child those shadows were more real and scary than they are for the rest of us. A Gift With A Price Jennifer has been empathic from a very early age, but what does that mean? It means she was super sensitive to the world around her; she could see, feel and hear stuff that others couldn’t. That might sound like a fantastic superpower. But like all gifts, it came with a price, and for Jennifer it was a high one. As a child receiving love and emotional support was difficult, because hugging people was painful. Adults carry so many emotions and this is very confusing to a young child who receives all this pain and emotional baggage in a hug. Jennifer was born in North Carolina, known as the Bible belt of the USA. Her family have strong Christian beliefs so there was no easy way to talk about the things that might have been considered ungodly. She learned to rationalise the images and thoughts she received as part of an overactive and creative imagination. But it initiated her interest in psychology as a way of gaining more insight and understanding about the images, feelings and experiences she was having. She says her whole life has been a study of humanity beginning with herself. The Empathic Initiator After leaving school, Jennifer went on to study psychology and worked in the field of addiction and special needs. Presently she is known as the Empathic Initiator and works as a transformational guide and speaker. She is a catalyst for change, her mission being to inspire individuals to recognise their unique potential and calling, to embrace purpose, and to live an aligned and authentic existence. CHINMAYA SHIVAM

Parashu – Axe. Hasta – hands. One who holds an axe in his hands. The axe is the symbol of truth and wisdom. Lord Shiva cuts off the big tree of ignorance and falsehood with his axe ( truth and wisdom ). The Lord holding the axe of truth shows us that he is very fond of truth and true people. An axe represents Truth - Satyanishtha. An axe is heated red hot and a man is asked to touch it to find out whether he is truthful or lying. So says the Chandogya Upanishad chapter 6. One who loves Truth is Lord Shiva. Satyam eva jayate na anritam says the Mundakopanishad. What is the Truth? How to know what is Truth? Fake news, falsehood, pretention etc. one must discriminate clearly. Presently, people are more interested in topics like Practical Vedānta, Vedānta – the Means to Personality Development, Vedānta and Business Management, Vedānta for Better Relationships, Vedāntic Tips for Better Health, Vedānta – The Key to Success and so on. They are willing to know or learn about Vedānta only if assured of being better professionals, having better relationships and acquiring more wealth, power and fame. We are completely absorbed in the rat race. But let us be warned that ‘in this rat race, even if you succeed, you still remain a rat!’ We are somehow more interested in the utility of Truth than the Truth itself. This is because we have more value for material achievements than for the Truth. Empirical Truth - Truth has a very important role to play in our day-to-day life. It is a fundamental value and its adherence is considered the common duty (sāmānya dharma) for all of mankind, all through life. Following the principles of truth makes us strong within, integrates our personality, endows us with peace of mind, confidence, fearlessness and gives us credibility and respect from others. It spreads goodness in society and helps to integrate it. A truly honest man has the strength to make mighty powers bow before him. Satvichar, Satbhav, Satvani, Satyavrata, Satvyavahar, Satkarma are various ways to practice Truth at the Empirical level. Absolute Truth - That which does not change in 3 periods of time. Truth should be known for the very joy of discovering It, experiencing It and living It. When the Truth is not known, untruth is mistaken for the Truth, unreal for the Real and the not-Self for the Self. We remain immersed in illusions, false notions, the unreal and the untruth. Such ignorance is not bliss. It is the root cause of all our misery. When the Absolute Truth is known, it removes our misery forever (ātyantika dukkha nivṛtti) and we gain supreme Bliss (paramānanda prāpti). Let us love the Truth and live the Truth. Hello Conscious Creators! Welcome to episode 20 of Creating Consciousness! Today's card is the 7 of Pentacles, a card that I often refer to as the one step forward and two steps back card. Right as we are making progress in what it is that we want to manifest, we are met with resistance. And that is perfectly normal. The fools journey is never met without resistance.Presently there is a distraction keeping you from achieving what it is you are wanting. What is it that is distracting you? Is it making others your priority? Is it laziness? Is it a lack of focus? Be completely honest with yourself. It seems as if this distraction is making you a bit scatter-brained. Spirit is asking that you clear the clutter and find a way to focus in on what it is you are wanting to manifest.Once you find your focus, the Seven of Pentacles finds it’s light and helps you see your growth and the reward. The Seven of Pentacles wants you know and trust that what you are manifesting is attainable, you just need to get clear on what it is you want.Without the effort, drive, and motivation, there will be no pay-off…What you are wanting for yourself right now isn’t a little thing. Long-term investments take time and require constant attention to attain the long-term reward. Understand that although you may experience little rewards along the way, something big is coming down the road, that will be worth more than all the little wins added up.Hold strong to your vision. Work for it everyday. and trust that the outcome will be beneficial for greatest good of all concerned. You’ve got this. Intuitive Question:Today focus in on the question “What is distracting me from achieving my goals” and get specific asking this question with each of your goals. For example “What is distracting me from eating healthy” or “what is distracting me from setting time aside for myself?” or “What is distracting from showing up and being a better partner?” These are all examples you can pull from, or you can tap into your own intuition and find what is reflective of your circumstance.Intuitive Affirmation:“I have unlimited resources to manifest my goals”Please don’t forget to subscribe, rate, and review this podcast wherever you are listening! Chapter 14 - John Muir from Cultivating Inner Peace by Paul R. Fleischman, M.D. Muir made harmony his orienting point and built a lifestyle around it. He refused teaching positions at Harvard and the Boston Academy of Science, and instead cleaved to the environment he wrote about. John Muir’s intimacy with nature deepened to mental states of fusion, during which he lost his sense of individual identity to blend with the whole. “You bathe in these spirit-beams, turning round and round, as if warming at a campfire. Presently, you lose consciousness of your own separate existence; you blend with the landscape, and become part and parcel of nature.” By “nature,” Muir always meant one mood: harmony in every thing, harmony over and over. Aaron Chapman On Teaching Our Kids the Truth About Wealth & Why Money is a Flowing River

Real Estate Money School

A great deal of what we’re taught about money isn’t the truth, and also doesn’t allow us to achieve financial freedom.   We’re taught to park our money, while the institutions convincing us to do that are using it to expand their own wealth. When investing in rentals, we’re advised to pay off the mortgage as quickly as possible, instead of using the cash flow to create more opportunities.    All this information is geared towards us losing control of our money, so that other people can benefit from it.    When we see past the lies we were told about money, we are able to take our control back, and that knowledge shouldn’t just end with us.    Teaching our kids how money works is a critical step entrepreneurs should never skip. The earlier they learn how to put money in flow, the more equipped they will be to succeed in this world.    What are the key lessons we should be teaching our children to be good stewards of money and to nurture their own entrepreneurial spirit? Why is it important to shift our focus from the cash flow of an investment to the actual value of the loan?    In this episode, I’m joined by loan officer, entrepreneur, investor and author, Aaron Chapman. He shares the big mental shifts we need to have to stop blocking the flow of money.   Three Things You’ll Learn In This Episode   Why authenticity is important in this business When we become investors, we aren’t just people, we represent a brand. That brand should be built on authenticity, and not fitting into what we think a perfect investor should look or act like. When we try to be what other people tell us to be, we lose our identity. People and potential business partners respect us more for being who we are.   How to leverage our rental property mortgage Don’t spend extra money paying off your mortgage with your rental. Take the cash flow and do something to make you more money and increase your portfolio. With inflation, the cost of paying back that mortgage will reduce over time, and we get to pay less than we would if we were paying off the mortgage now.   Consumer mentality vs. an entrepreneur mentality The way we see money as consumers has to completely change once we become investors. We’re no longer a consumer preparing to spend money and go into debt. We are CEOs of a real estate investing firm, and we need to create a team of trusted advisors and to see beyond cash flow to the true value of the real estate.   Guest Bio-  Aaron Chapman is a loan officer, entrepreneur, investor and author. He is a veteran in the finance industry beginning in 1997; having exited mining, heavy equipment operation, welding and long haul truck driving. Since entering the finance industry his clientele has ranged from those purchasing their first home, building their dream home or investing in multiple properties for long term cash flow.    Presently ranked #14 in an industry of over 300,000 licensed loan originators for transactions closed annually (723 closed units for real estate investors in 2019, 707 in 2018 and 676 in 2017); Aaron is that battle-worn partner every real estate entrepreneur needs to walk through the tough parts of building a real estate business.    For more information, visit https://www.aaronbchapman.com/.

For the first time in his epistle, Peter directly addresses the local church’s elders or leaders. While it appears odd to shift from trials and judgment to church leadership, the segue is quite natural. In 1 Peter 4:17, Peter said that “it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God.” Peter was alluding to Malachi 3 and Ezekiel 9, where God’s judgment began at the Temple. Presently, the Church is the Temple of God. Thus, God’s judgment begins with the Church. More specifically, in light of Ezekiel 9:6, God’s judgment upon His Temple starts with the elders. Hence, Peter addresses the elders of the church with a challenge so that they can avoid the judgment that the unregenerate will face. Peter will address the people of the church in light of this judgment in 1 Peter 5:5-9.

In this episode, we have the pleasure of talking with Kiesha Battles of I Am Yoga and co-creator of the "Yoga Ethics for Transforming Racism" program with Kristine Kaoverii Weber of Subtle Yoga. "It's the conversation that we hope that people are open to having because with this Yoga, you know it's more than doing, it's taking action and what we are trying to do is take that action of just sharing more of the tools and the practices that can benefit us in this world. We both have this understanding that there are many paths to Yoga, and not all of them focus on the ethical principles. So what we want to do is share with people that they are there." Her Yoga journey began when she found a flyer in the hallway of her graduate program in Asian Studies. She started out studying the Iyengar method and after moving to Charlotte, began practicing more Vinyasa and Power Yoga. She's completed two 200-hour Yoga Teacher programs, the first being with Kristine and the second with her mentor Maya Breuer. She's also completed a 300-hour program with Maya and is currently in another with Embodied Philosophy. Presently, she is the Yoga Director at Charlotte Family Yoga and founder of I Am Yoga where she leads Yoga Teacher Training programs and provides Accessible Yoga. Kiesha is a full time Yoga teacher with over 20 years of experience. Before COVID, she was teaching 20 classes a week to over 300 students. During COVID, she found herself with more time on her hands by not driving from class to class. This intersection paired with the momentum of the Black Lives Matter movement provided the opportunity to co-create with Kristine. Kiesha's study of Yoga Philosophy began when developing her research paper for Kristine's 200-hour Training Program on "Why Don't African Americans Do Yoga." This research led her to Maya Breuer, her "Grandmother of Yoga." She attended her Yoga Retreat for Women of Color and began private studies with her afterwards on Living Yoga. She studied intimately with Maya for years going deeper and deeper with the Yamas and Niyamas(Ethical Principles of Yoga). She then began practicing with Kelley Palmer in Charlotte who was integrating the Yoga principles more directly. This partnership with Kristine reminds Kiesha of Yin and Yang. Not only by the styles they teach, Kristine teaching more of an active style and Kiesha teaching Yin, but by who they are as women. Each present the Yamas or Niyamas as it relates to racism, humanities, and ethics, paired with a physical practice. All proceeds go towards scholarship foundations for BIPOC organizations; Black Yoga Teacher Alliance and I Am Yoga. After 1 month of offering the program, they have been able to contribute $3k to each organization. She believes this program gives the participant a path to change and understand racism through the lens of the ethical principles of Yoga. "What are your values? What are the values that you hold true that you would stand your ground for, that you would fight for, that you would be willing to die for. For some people in our path, it could be God, it could be Spirit. For some people it's love and for some people it's country. But what are you holding true as a value outside of who you vote for?" Maya Breuer has been influential in Kiesha's work and from her she found T.K.V Desikachar's book "The Heart of Yoga" which has done the same for her. Candace Jennings, her partner in I Am Yoga was influential in developing her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Kiesha enjoys working with everybody as she believes working with everybody provides her an opportunity to learn. She wants to Heal Charlotte because she is a loyalist. She moved to the Carolinas during her adolescent years and is now so embedded in the community here, she wants Charlotte to be well. In Charlotte, she's inspired by Candace Jennings, her business partner and bodyworker, her Mom as she has found healing in the extra time spent with her after surgery, interactions with her friends during COVID, and Key Baldwin, her Reiki Master. Dr. Tony Peters is another bodyworker in Charlotte who Kiesha appreciates. "If you are looking for healing, ask for it, there are so many resources out there and there's no one right way of healing." INTIMATE DISCLOSURES by Lawrence W. Manglitz This book contains selections of poetry and prose from the work of an aging Midwestern man–looking back at people, events, sexual experiences, cultures, and the church that has formed him. The content draws on his childhood, family, World War I and II, and summers in Spain. The Villa in the Algarve, Portugal, teaching in Turkey, two gay poets, and his revisioning of the myths, history, rituals, and the incarnation of his Catholic faith as he lives and approaches his death. He embraces the gift of life and the wonder of consciousness. Written with vivid imagery and unusual events in free verse, this will give you a fresh vision, sometimes startling, always disclosing the intimacy and consciousness of personal life. Lawrence W. Manglitz was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, November 24, 1938. When he was a small boy, his parents moved to Bridgeman, then to Holland, Michigan. Despite the conservative nature of that community and his family church, his childhood was a time of great imagination and wanderings on his bike and adventures in Dunn’s woods. In his youth, his life became more complex as he became aware of his homosexuality. He didn’t publically come out until he was twenty-eight. In 1961, he graduated from Godben College. Later, he earned an MA from the University of Michigan and a PhD from Michigan State University. In 1961, he began teaching at Talas American School, near Kayseri and later at Tarsus College in Southern Turkey. Between 1961 and 1965, he traveled in the Middle East and in Southern Europe, spending his summers in Ibiza, Spain. Later, after returning to America, he visited Turkey, Spain, England, and the Czech Republic many times. After returning to America in 1965, he taught at South High School; in 1968, he taught at the community college until his retirement in 2002. During much of the time after his return, he was active in the Episcopal church. Presently, he lived in Michigan with his three cats: James, Cecilia, and Zachariah. He has published poetry in Matrix and The James White Review. https://www.stratton-press.com/books/intimate-disclosures/ http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/strapress4.mp3

So, I want to share with you how my brain gets ahead of me sometimes because I think I caught myself before it was too late.  That said, I would love to know what you think.   Here goes. When it comes to podcasting, when it comes to most of my plans for world domination to be honest with you, I'm a mad scientist who sees a little bit of success and then starts adding bits and pieces to his monster until it's unrecognizable, or it's not sustainable.   You've seen this podcast go through a lot of changes over the years,   and one of the main reasons for that is I see this podcast as a reflection of where I am at a certain period of my life.  There have been the funny voices, there's been the point where I felt I wanted to document certain parts of my life as a testimonial to my kids, there's been the kind of mourning process when my parents died.   Presently, this podcast is dedicated to the creative.  How we're coping during this pandemic, to our individual processes, and the myriad ways we express ourselves.  From the filmmaker to the webcomic artist, to the live theater technician and voice talent, and more.  Over this past weekend, I was feeling very grateful for the feedback I've been receiving, and I was consumed with the idea that I could be giving more.  If the name of this podcast is The Bluejacket Creative, inherent in that name is the passing of knowledge.  While I've been passing on some ideas from my point of view and having some great conversations with other creatives, I was wondering about branching this out a bit more.   I was thinking of one or two more kinds of episodes, one a bit more motivational, inspirational, and one a bit more technical.  A tutorial for things I do, or things I find to pass on in the fields of podcasting, photography, blogging, videography, life...things like that.  I hadn't gotten so far as to map these out in my head as to a schedule, because that's when I took a step back and stopped myself.  You see, where I have historically fallen off the wagon with doing these podcasts is when I fall behind with the schedule I've kept for myself.  Right now, I'm doing two shows during the week and one interview show on the weekend   I've kept this up for I think about a month.  I'd like to keep going with it, but I know something is going to be happening soon.  Eventually, if I'm lucky, the majority of my day is going to be consumed by a day job.   In a perfect world, I'd be a full-time creator for a living, but we're just not there yet.   So if one-third of my life is sleeping and the other 8-10 hours is day job related, then I have only between 4-8 hours a day to work on the creative allowing for the fact that my life is crazy and there are just days when my time is not my own no matter what I do.  The creative spirit is willing you see, the practical nature of time may be the issue.  That said, I'd like to know:  Would you like to see more technical things discussed on this podcast?  The nuts and bolts of podcasting, editing, blogging, photography, productivity, and the like?   Let me know.  I'll work on a pilot episode of these to see how they go, and whether there need to be other things involved like a video component, or a downloadable, or something like that.  You can let me know your thoughts by hitting me up on the social media, usually, you can find me @krisroley on most platforms, but the easiest way to find what I'm on is to go to krisroley.com and click on the appropriate social media icon in the upper left corner of the front page, and comment on the post for this podcast.

Psychcast host Lorenzo Norris, MD, talks with members of the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry’s Media Committee about how to help patients navigate the uncertainties associated with educating K-12 and college students during the pandemic. The discussion is moderated by Jack Drescher, MD. Dr. Norris is assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences and assistant dean of student affairs at George Washington University in Washington. He also serves as medical director of psychiatric and behavioral sciences at George Washington University Hospital. Dr. Norris has no conflicts of interest. Dr. Drescher is clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia University in New York, adjunct professor at New York University, and a training and supervising psychoanalyst at the William Alanson White Institute. He has no conflicts of interest.  Joining Dr. Norris and Dr. Drescher are Carol Bernstein, MD; Jeffrey Freedman, MD; Gail Saltz, MD; and Peter Kramer, MD. None of the guests have a conflict of interest. Summary Questions about school reopenings are fraught with uncertainty for children, parents, and teachers, with concerns for safety as well as the quality of the school experience. Constant communication between parents and schools with families is warranted; however, without a clear plan, too much communication can generate anxiety. The pandemic and school reopenings affect most sectors of society, including the economy, and vulnerable and elderly populations. The pandemic puts pressure on families because the distribution of work often is in the home. Women in particular are struggling with the ongoing need to manage work demands with those tied to their children’s school schedules. School reopening plans have ramifications for the workplace as parents struggle to meet their usual schedule and productivity standards. School reopening is another aspect of the pandemic that underscores class and financial disparities, because some school systems can afford widespread testing to keep children in school. These decisions, in turn, have a ripple effect on parents' ability to return to work. School reopenings also affect young adults at colleges and universities. The social milieu of college targets the development of young adults as they accomplish social and emotional milestones by interacting with peers. Yet, to reopen safely, colleges have been forced to change their structure and limit social interactions between students and faculty. In addition, college is a common time and place for mental illnesses to surface or be exacerbated in young people; it’s unclear whether there will be enough mental health services for this group, which is now under even more stress. Colleges are trying to fill the mental health gap by using adjunctive tools, such as apps, and broader telehealth and virtual psychotherapy services. Children at every age are facing developmental challenges, including a "failure to launch." Presently, 52% of young adults reside with one or both of their parents, the largest proportion since the Great Depression.   References Bushwick S.
