Mike brings the case against his coworker Brooke. Brooke wants to play baseball with her colleagues in a casual, recreational setting. She would love Mike to be part of this group. But he won't step foot on the field unless it's a softball field. Brooke says baseball and softball are essentially the same game! Just play ball! But, Mike strongly disagrees. Author here! This an older, more cosmic underwater horror story of mine from two years ago, a two parter that got a lot of positive reaction on Reddit. It has some flaws, but I hope you enjoy it, and the upcoming second part as much as you did my Abandoned Ship story, Exploding Whale and Crater Lake stories MCP has done. And also, I hope you caught the tributes to horror movie characters, directors and writers with names like Carpenter, Alten, King and Windows.

As Analytic Dreamz, I break down this emotional emo-rap and melodic trap collaboration that blends Juice WRLD's signature vulnerability with Marshmello's polished electronic production, featuring synth layers, chord progressions, and the iconic “Mello made it right” tag.Juice WRLD (Jarad Higgins, 1998–2019), the pioneer of emo-rap's mainstream rise, continues his active posthumous catalog with themes of post-breakup helplessness, emotional disconnect, temptation, and pain-driven reflection—hallmarks of his freestyle delivery and relationship turmoil narratives. Marshmello, known for EDM-hip-hop crossovers, previously collaborated with Juice on “Come & Go” and confirmed at least 8 unreleased tracks from their sessions. After years of snippets leaking across Discord, Reddit, and YouTube—plus a major 2024 preview during Marshmello's Kai Cenat livestream—this “finally official” track arrives with massive built-in anticipation from the #999 fanbase. The official rollout includes TikTok teasers, storytelling from Marshmello on their meeting and sessions, Instagram announcements from the Juice WRLD estate, new cover art, and coverage across RapTV, EDM.com, and major platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, X, and Reddit. With Juice WRLD's catalog boasting 120 million RIAA-certified units—placing him among the top rappers ever—this release taps into his strong commercial legacy, Marshmello's crossover appeal, and viral potential for streaming spikes and playlist placements. Fans speculate on an EP featuring remaining collaborations like “Soda Pop.”Tune in as Analytic Dreamz analyzes the sonic profile, market expectations, and what this means for Juice WRLD's ongoing posthumous wave of high-emotion hybrids.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/analytic-dreamz-notorious-mass-effect/exclusive-contentPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Graham Platner has never run for elected office before. He's a war veteran, an oyster farmer, and now he's running in a Democratic primary to eventually unseat Senator Susan Collins of Maine. He's ahead in the polls, but he's also been criticized for Reddit comments from his past and recently covered up a tattoo that looks suspiciously like a Nazi symbol (a connection he denies knowing about). Last week, before the recent attacks on Iran, Anna sat down with Graham to discuss his unlikely outsider campaign. They also talk about his upbringing in rural Maine, his military experience (and current anti-war stance), and what politicians need to do to actually help working people today. If you've ever thought, “What's the worst that could happen?” — today's episode of The Rizzuto Show answers that with: a Lego and a 75-inch QLED.We kick things off with a listener email that spirals faster than a toddler with building blocks. A military family makes new friends. Their kid launches a Lego. The Lego meets TV. The TV loses. Suddenly it's a $1,200 moral dilemma involving Amazon orders, Facebook Marketplace dreams, and whether you're entitled to the “damaged goods” after offering to replace it. Is it doing the right thing… or financing someone else's home upgrade? We debate it like the totally qualified life coaches we are. Spoiler: don't bring your kids anywhere. Ever. Then we dive headfirst into the latest dating insanity lighting up TikTok: Alpine Divorce — where someone literally leaves their partner stranded on a hike. Yes, this is apparently a thing. Yes, we're concerned. And yes, King Scott briefly considers whether he would've tried this in a past relationship. From narcissistic punishment hikes to ghostlighting (ghosting + gaslighting = modern romance), this comedy podcast unpacks the absolute circus that is dating in 2026.And because love clearly needed one more hit, divorce lawyers of Reddit reveal the pettiest reasons people filed for divorce. We're talking:• Asking how someone takes their coffee for seven years• Smacking lips while eating• $42,000 spent on psychic hotlines• Monitoring toilet paper usage like it's a federal auditSomewhere in here we accidentally hold a memorial for Ms. Cleo, question which professions cheat the most (uniforms… looking at you), and discover that apparently pharmacists are the gold standard of loyalty. Farmers too. Accountants are out here winning quietly. It's messy. It's chaotic. It's oddly therapeutic. It's exactly what a daily comedy podcast should be — friends arguing about nonsense while occasionally stumbling into real-life wisdom. If you came for thoughtful relationship guidance… lower your expectations immediately. If you came for laughs, weird news, and St. Louis morning show chaos — welcome home. This is The Rizzuto Show — your favorite daily comedy podcast where we solve nothing but talk about everything.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

SEO is a long-term investment, not a quick fix. Sustainable results require a consistent and evolving strategy.2. The cost of SEO varies, but the focus should be on value and ROI, not just the price tag.3. Ask your SEO agency about their team, workflow, strategy, and reporting to ensure transparency and alignment.4. The four pillars of SEO are search, find, click, and save. The goal is to create valuable content that resonates with your audience.5. Don't be a passive client. Educate yourself, ask questions, and take an active role in your SEO strategy.6. Certifications and partnerships (like with SEMrush) can be an indicator of an agency's credibility and expertise.7. Competitive analysis is crucial. You need to understand who your competitors are and what they're doing to succeed in the search rankings.Memorable Quotes[08:20 - 08:34] "There's this illusion of SEO being a genie that just comes and wipes your problems away and then you rank all day. It's not like that."[08:51 - 08:57] "Yes, it's technical, but the fundamental value of SEO is to connect."[25:08 - 25:16] "These agencies will just sell you snake oil and tell you all these things about what to do, what not to do. And then they leave you stranded, high and dry, pay thousands of dollars and you've not received one click or one lead."[30:37 - 30:47] "SEO is about search, find, click, and save."FAQs1. How much should I budget for SEO services? The cost of SEO can range from $500 to $5,000+ per month. For serious results, a budget of at least $1,000 per month is recommended.2. How long does it take to see results from SEO?SEO is a long-term strategy. While some quick wins are possible, significant and sustainable results typically take 6-12 months to achieve.3. What are the most important questions to ask an SEO agency?Ask about their team, their process, their strategy, and how they measure success. It's also important to inquire about their experience in your industry.4. What is the difference between on-page and off-page SEO?On-page SEO refers to optimizations made to your website, such as content and technical aspects. Off-page SEO involves activities outside of your website, such as link building and social media.5. How can I learn more about SEO?There are many resources available online, including blogs, courses, and certifications. Following industry experts and listening to podcasts like We Don't PLAY! can also be beneficial.Timestamps[00:00] Introduction: What SEO agencies won't tell you.[05:55] How much does SEO cost?[07:33] The importance of a long-term SEO strategy.[08:10] SEO is not a one-time fix.[24:04] How to get into SEO.[25:30] The importance of certifications for SEO agencies.[26:51] The role of competitive analysis in SEO.[30:29] The four-wheel cycle of SEO: search, find, click, and save.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Career maximalism is a mistake that many high achieving professionals make. When you care too much about your job, you can actually become worse at it. In this video, learn what Career Maximalism is, and why this behavior is everywhere, often rewarded, and quietly working against you.Career maximalism is when your job becomes a major source of your identity and your emotional state rises and falls based on how work is going. It often looks like being a great employee, but there's a tipping point where it clouds your judgment, slows your decisions, and makes everything heavier than it needs to be. Sarah Doody discusses the difference between commitment and emotional over-identification, shares a Reddit thread about treating UX as a job instead of an identity, and gives three practical tips for caring deeply without making work who you are.3 tips for avoiding the trap of Career Maximalism: 1) Build proof of your self-worth outside your job with physical challenges, creative projects, community, etc.2) Practice emotional detachment without disengagement. Detachment isn't apathy, it's clarity.3) Set clear standards and boundaries. When expectations are vague, everything becomes emotional.Resources & Links Mentioned: Reddit thread about treating UX as a job instead of an identity

In this eye-opening episode of the We Don't PLAY! Podcast, host Favour Obasi-ike, MBA, MS dismantles the myth of "cheap SEO." Joined by guests Dr. Fashion, Austin, John, and Celese, the conversation exposes the significant long-term damage that corner-cutting SEO practices can inflict on a business. Favour emphasizes that SEO is not a one-time fix but a long-term investment in your brand's digital foundation. The episode draws a powerful analogy, comparing cheap SEO to building a house with substandard materials — a structure doomed to fail. The discussion highlights the stark difference between unethical "black hat" tactics, which lead to severe penalties from search engines like Google, and the sustainable growth achieved through ethical, "white hat" strategies. Dr. Fashion shares an inspiring personal story of how her commitment to quality SEO on her YouTube channel led to incredible success, enabling her to purchase her mother's childhood home. The episode is a masterclass for any business owner, marketing professional, or entrepreneur who wants to understand the true value of a robust, strategic, and long-term SEO plan. It's a crucial reminder that in the world of digital marketing, you get what you pay for, and the cost of cheap SEO is ultimately a price too high to pay for any business serious about growth and longevity.Book SEO Services | Quick Links for Social Business>> Book SEO Services with Favour Obasi-ike>> Visit Work and PLAY Entertainment website to learn about our digital marketing services>> Join our exclusive SEO Marketing community>> Read SEO Articles>> Subscribe to the We Don't PLAY Podcast>> Purchase Flaev Beatz Beats Online>> Favour Obasi-ike Quick LinksKey Takeaways1. Cheap SEO is a Myth: Low-cost SEO services often use harmful "black hat" techniques that can get your website penalized by Google, costing you more in the long run.2. SEO is a Long-Term Investment: Sustainable SEO is not about quick fixes. It's about consistently building a strong online presence through high-quality content and ethical practices.3. Quality SEO Drives Real-World Results: As demonstrated by Dr. Fashion's story, a well-executed SEO strategy can lead to significant financial success and brand authority.4. A Holistic Approach is Essential: Effective SEO encompasses more than just keywords. It includes website design, user experience, content quality, and technical optimization.5. Inaction is Expensive: In a competitive digital landscape, not investing in SEO means being invisible to your target audience and losing ground to your competitors.6. Understand the Value You're Paying For: Be wary of SEO providers who make grand promises without clear, measurable results. A reputable expert will provide a transparent and strategic plan.7. SEO is a Way of Life: Favour makes the point that search is a fundamental human behavior. Applying this mindset to your business's digital strategy is key to success.Memorable Quotes[01:04 - 01:17] "The cost of cheap SEO is to the point where you know when you hear something has been done but it has been done poorly. It's like trying to build a house and then you use the wrong sand, you use the wrong brick, you use the wrong everything." — Favour Obasi-ike[22:40 - 22:59] "SEO works, y'all. It's a long-term game. You don't want to enjoy the shade before building or planting the seed. We have to follow the rule. We have to abide by the law. There's a procedure. There's seed, there's time, there's harvest. We can't harvest without planting a seed." — Favour Obasi-ike[67:24 - 67:41] "If you have a business, you should have a podcast...it's a 24/7, 365 marketing platform for you. It's another place where people can search and be discovered." — John[26:20 - 26:31] "When you think about SEO, it boils down to two things. You're either focusing on branded queries, which is your business name, your brand name, the name that people know you for, or you're focusing on non-branded queries." — Favour Obasi-ike[45:53 - 46:02] "If everyone did SEO correctly, we'd have a better search experience, to be honest. 100%, because SEO is not competition. It's search." — Favour Obasi-ikeFAQs1. What is the difference between "black hat" and "white hat" SEO?"Black hat" SEO refers to unethical tactics that violate search engine guidelines to try and rank a site higher, such as buying links or keyword stuffing. "White hat" SEO, on the other hand, focuses on creating high-quality content and a good user experience to earn rankings organically.2. How long does it take to see results from SEO?SEO is a long-term strategy. While some technical fixes can have a quick impact, it typically takes several months to see significant, sustainable results from a comprehensive SEO campaign.3. Why is content so important for SEO?High-quality content is the foundation of modern SEO. It's what attracts and engages your audience, establishes your authority, and gives search engines the context they need to rank your site for relevant queries.Timestamps[00:00] Introduction: The True Cost of Cheap SEO[02:32] The Long-Term vs. Short-Term View of SEO[05:49] Real-Life Success Story: LinkedIn Newsletter Growth[11:11] The Dangers of Black Hat SEO[17:25] SEO Starts with a Secure Website (HTTPS)[20:15] Dr. Fashion on YouTube SEO and Organic Discovery[23:24] John's Experience with Unqualified SEO Pitches[30:04] The Importance of Backlinks and Domain Authority[44:46] SEO as a Long-Term, Ethical Investment[48:22] SEO as a Natural Extension of Human Behavior[55:00] The Power of Podcasting for Business Growth[68:03] The Importance of Language and Mindset in Marketing[71:02] Understanding Keyword Categories for Effective SEOSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this episode, Ray tackles Anthropic’s standoff with the U.S. Department of War after CEO Daria Amodei refused to grant unrestricted model access, citing concerns over mass surveillance and autonomous weapons. The government responded by banning Anthropic models through administrative orders. Also covered: the top 20 websites of 2026, China’s $173,000 warm-blooded companion robot, Fukushima’s rapidly evolving radioactive hybrid boars, a Chinese spacecraft emergency involving viewport cracks from space debris, Japan’s wooden satellite built with traditional joinery, and human brain cells on a chip that learned to play Doom in just one week. – Want to start a podcast? CEO Daria Amodei released a public statement refusing unrestricted government access to Anthropic’s AI models. Two red lines stood firm: mass domestic surveillance and fully autonomous weapons. Ray explains that these models are predictive by nature, raising serious misidentification risks. However, the government hit back hard. Administrative orders now ban Anthropic models from government use. Despite the backlash, Cochrane expresses support for the company’s stance. He points listeners to a CBS interview with the CEO posted roughly nine hours before recording. Additionally, Anthropic released new models including Opus 4.5 and Sonnet 4.6. The company climbed to the number two spot on the App Store, trailing only ChatGPT and surpassing Google Gemini. Personal Updates Ray shares that February has been a demanding month. He’s juggling a capstone project, two jobs, and finishing his degree. Meanwhile, he continues working on developments at Blubrry hosting. He apologizes for inconsistent episode production and thanks listeners for their patience. Top 20 Websites of 2026 A Visual Capitalist chart ranks the most visited websites of 2026. Google holds the top spot, followed by YouTube. Facebook, Instagram, ChatGPT, Reddit, Wikipedia, X, and WhatsApp round out the upper rankings. Notably, DuckDuckGo appears at rank seventeen as a privacy-focused search alternative. Sponsor: GoDaddy Economy hosting $6.99/month, WordPress hosting $12.99/month, domains $11.99. In a unique move, the company gave the model a Substack-style blog to reflect on its own existence. Reactions online were mixed, with both supporters and critics engaging in the conversation. China’s $173,000 Warm-Blooded Companion Robot From ZME Science, Ray covers China’s new humanoid robot designed as a warm-blooded companion. Priced at $173,000, it features conventional robotics hardware, sensors, cameras, and autonomous navigation. A built-in heating element maintains body warmth. Cochrane comments humorously on the growing market for companion robots. Windows XP Green Hill Found and Photographed From Tom’s Hardware, someone tracked down and photographed the actual location of the iconic Windows XP “Green Hill” wallpaper. The Reddit post sparked a wave of nostalgia in the community. Fukushima’s Radioactive Hybrid Boars From AZ Animals, domestic pigs that escaped after the Fukushima disaster hybridized with wild boars. Their DNA reveals rapid evolutionary changes driven by the altered radioactive landscape. These aggressive hybrids now complicate wildlife management and rewilding efforts in the region. Shenzhou 20 Spacecraft Emergency Chinese astronauts aboard Shenzhou 20 discovered cracks in their spacecraft’s viewport during what became the nation’s first spaceflight emergency. Space debris likely caused the damage. The crew switched to an alternative return capsule. Multiple protective layers kept the situation manageable. Japan’s Wooden Satellite Japanese teams plan to launch the first wooden satellite. Built with magnolia wood panels assembled using traditional Japanese joinery methods, the biodegradable design aims to reduce aluminum particle pollution from satellites burning up during atmospheric reentry. Human Brain Cells Play Doom Building on previous work where living neurons played Pong, an independent developer used Python to train human brain cell clusters on microelectrode arrays to play Doom. The cells learned in roughly one week. Cochrane highlights how open knowledge sharing accelerated the project dramatically. He also raises ethical questions about training sentient brain cells, connecting the topic to evolving views on sentience in crustaceans and other organisms. For the first time, Google has publicly designated a core update as a "Discover Core Update," signaling a major shift in how content is surfaced to users. In this podcast episode of the We Don't PLAY!™️ Podcast, host Favour Obasi-ike, MBA, MS, unpacks the groundbreaking February 2026 Google Core Update with 200+ people in the Clubhouse Audio LIVE! room. This update, which rolled out over 22 days, emphasizes a move towards a more personalized, AI-driven, and visually-oriented search experience. Favour explains that the Discover feed functions like a recommendation engine for the entire web, proactively suggesting content based on a user's interests and online behavior, rather than just reacting to search queries. This means the success of your content is now heavily influenced by the end-user's activity. The episode delves into the critical importance of creating "people-first" content — content that is helpful, reliable, and genuinely valuable to the audience. Favour warns against the use of clickbait and spammy headlines, as the new algorithm is designed to penalize such practices.Furthermore, the discussion highlights the often-overlooked but crucial role of technical SEO. Using a real-world client example and citing HubSpot's past struggles with a core update, Favour illustrates how a weak technical foundation can undermine even the best content strategy. The episode provides a comprehensive overview of what this update means for businesses and marketers, offering actionable advice on how to adapt and thrive. A New Era of Search: The February 2026 Google Core Update is the first to be publicly named a "Discover Core Update," marking a significant shift towards a proactive, AI-powered content recommendation system.2. Content is Still King, but Context is Queen: The update prioritizes "people-first" content that is helpful, reliable, and engaging. The focus is on user intent and value, not just keywords.3. Technical SEO is Non-Negotiable: A solid technical foundation is more critical than ever. Issues with hosting, server response times, and website structure can severely impact your visibility.4. The Power of Personalization: The Discover feed is driven by user behavior and interests. This means your content's reach is now directly tied to how well it resonates with individual users.5. Visuals are Vital: The "Discover" update is inherently visual. High-quality, optimized images and videos are essential for capturing attention and driving engagement in the Discover feed.6. Say Goodbye to Gimmicks: Clickbait, spammy headlines, and other manipulative tactics will be actively penalized. Authenticity and value are the new currency of SEO.7. Embrace an Omnichannel Strategy: Relying solely on Google for traffic is a risky strategy. Building a strong presence across multiple platforms, including social media and email, is key to long-term, sustainable growth.Timestamps[00:00] Introduction to the Google Core Update[01:07] Google's First Publicly Labeled "Discover Core Update"[02:02] Timeline of the February 2026 Update[04:04] The Importance of Technical SEO[05:00] Case Study: HubSpot's Traffic Loss[06:02] The Lack of Information on Core Updates[08:12] Details of the Discover Core Update[10:15] The Role of AI in the Update[13:01] Impact on Different Industries[16:20] The "People-First" Content Strategy[20:01] The Importance of Visual Content[25:54] How User Activity Influences Search Results[27:37] Avoiding Clickbait and Spam[28:06] The Future of Search and ContentMemorable Quotes[01:07 - 01:19] "This is the first time Google has ever publicly mentioned about an update like this, especially to the open, because this doesn't usually happen all the time."[04:19 - 04:26] "I want to know about the core things that's going to either make or break your business online, especially when it comes to AI."[27:43 - 27:47] "You're going to avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid, by all means, avoid clickbait."[28:03 - 28:06] "If you're not people-first, it's gonna be quite hard."[26:11 - 26:15] "So the ball is not even in your court anymore. What is the Google Discover Core Update? The February 2026 Google Discover Core Update is a major algorithm change that focuses on personalizing the content shown in the Google Discover feed. Why is technical SEO important for this update?Technical SEO ensures that your website has a solid foundation for Google to crawl, index, and understand your content. Starting off in FOLLOW UP, we've got a tax economist who actually made money betting against the "efficiency" of Elon's budget-slashing fever dreams, while Tesla is busy trying to dodge a $243 million jury verdict for an Autopilot-assisted fatality. Not content with being legally liable, Tesla is also suing the California DMV because they're offended someone called their "Autopilot" and "Full Self-Driving" marketing deceptive—ironic, since Jack Dorsey just "proactively" halved the staff at Block to make room for more AI slop. Speaking of which, Goldman Sachs is here to remind us that all this AI spending added a grand total of zero to the US GDP last year, mostly because we're just exporting all that cash to overseas chip makers while 80% of execs admit the tech hasn't actually done anything for productivity yet.Moving into IN THE NEWS, Sam Altman had the audacity to compare ChatGPT's energy-sucking habits to the 20-year evolution of a human, though the internet wasn't exactly buying the "my bot is just like a baby" defense. Anthropic actually stood its ground against the Pentagon's demand for killer robots and mass surveillance, so naturally, the military just signed a deal to put Elon's Grok in their classified systems instead—because what could go wrong with an "edgy" LLM in the war room? Meanwhile, cities are dumping AI surveillance contracts as citizens start a literal "smash-the-snitch-box" campaign against Flock's license plate readers, Google's AI is busy inserting racial slurs into news alerts, and the White House is apparently harboring a staffer moonlighting as a racist "masterpiece" creator on X. We've also got Reddit being slapped with a $20 million fine in the UK for being lazy with age checks, while Discord and Apple scramble to build verification tools that hopefully won't leak your entire identity to a hacker in Belarus. In MEDIA CANDY, the Paramount-Skydance merger is leaving the industry in a cold sweat of "synergy" layoffs, but at least we're getting more Game of Thrones spinoffs and Star Trek reboots to rot our brains. Face/Off 2 lost its director, Ryan Coogler is taking on The X-Files, and Google wants to use AI to turn music into generic "lo-fi" background noise for the masses.Over in APPS & DOODADS, OpenAI is planning a 2027 smart speaker that literally watches you through a camera—because you definitely wanted a $300 Sam Altman-shaped eye in your kitchen—while the Dark Sky creators are back with "Acme Weather" for the low price of $25 a year.We wrap up THE DARK SIDE WITH DAVE with a deep dive into "Under Pressure" and Coruscant's urban sprawl, leaving us to reminisce about the days when KPT Bryce was the pinnacle of tech—back when "generative art" was just a fractal that took six hours to render.Sponsors:DeleteMe - Get 20% off your DeleteMe plan when you go to JoinDeleteMe.com/GOG and use promo code GOG at checkout.SquareSpace - go to squarespace.com/GRUMPY for a free trial. I take Perplexity Computer for its first real spin and test five use cases that founders can use right now to make money and move faster. I connect my Gmail live, let the AI send cold outreach on my behalf, set up daily competitive intelligence monitoring, research 50 VCs for a mock Series A, and kick off a full investment memo on Shopify, all in a single session. By the end, I walk away genuinely impressed and convinced the $200/month Max plan can pay for itself with one closed deal. Timestamps 00:00 – Intro 00:35 – What We're Testing Today 02:35 – Use Case 1: Warm Outbound at Scale 15:31 – Use Case 2: Automated Competitive Intel 25:11 – Use Case 3: Investor Pipeline Research (50 VCs) 26:58 – Use Case 4: Turn a Podcast Into a Content Machine 31:39 – Use Case 5: Live Market Diligence (Shopify Investment Memo) 34:17 – Bonus: Additional Use Cases Worth Trying 36:06 – Closing Thoughts and Takeaways Key Points Perplexity Computer runs multiple research tasks in parallel using sub-agents, skills, and tools — functioning like a virtual analyst working across the open internet. The cold outreach workflow found real email addresses, researched each prospect's recent activity, and drafted hyper-personalized emails that reference specific details — then sent them through a connected Gmail account. Setting up recurring competitive intelligence monitoring (daily reports, weekly sponsor tracking) is where the tool shifts from a one-off assistant to a persistent agent running on autopilot. The VC pipeline research use case demonstrates how founders who lack a warm network can still build a structured, targeted investor list with fund sizes, thesis alignment, and partner contacts. At $200/month on the Max plan, the cost pays for itself if even one sponsorship deal or investor meeting closes from the outreach. The platform already supports connectors for Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, HubSpot, Ahrefs, Reddit, and more — making it a serious contender for centralized founder workflows. Danny Rensch went from being weaponized as a chess prodigy by a cult to co-founding Chess.com — detailed on part two of this two-part episode. (Find part one here!)Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1290What We Discuss with Danny Rensch:Chess.com grew from a bootstrapped startup — laughed out of investor rooms — into a unicorn by building a chess creator economy and content ecosystem years before the pandemic boom, capturing 99% of chess's explosive growth when The Queen's Gambit and COVID lockdowns sent 400,000 new members flooding in per day.Catching cheaters in chess is a high-stakes statistical science. Chess.com employs 30 full-time specialists, from research scientists to in-house detectives, who use AI-driven algorithms to detect engine-assisted play, acting only when evidence would hold up in court rather than in the court of public opinion. The digital revolution in chess has dramatically compressed the learning curve. Kids now grow up playing against Magnus Carlsen and top grandmasters online, producing prodigies like a 12-year-old Argentine dubbed "the Messi of chess" who may break the youngest grandmaster record in history.Chess.com's public stance against Russia after the Ukraine invasion landed Danny Rensch on a dark web hit list, and years of closing cheaters' accounts have brought direct threats — including one player who tracked his tournament locations and emailed that he'd feel a gun behind his neck.Danny's most powerful insight is that you can redefine your relationship with your past. Forgiveness isn't rewriting what happened, it's freeing yourself from it, and believing "everything happens for a reason" becomes actionable when you realize you get to choose the reason and reclaim the power over your own story. And much more...And if you're still game to support us, please leave a review here — even one sentence helps! This week we're in hygge mode, uncovering traumas in our generational home with the host of This Had Oscar Buzz, Joe Reid! One of the breakout Oscar films of the year is Joachim Trier's Sentimental Value, a warm, realist Norwegian film about a difficult but brilliant director (Stellan Skarsgard), his two daughters (Renate Reinsve and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas), and an American actress cast in the auteur's new film (Elle Fanning). All four performances earned Oscar nominations, along with nominations for Best Picture, Best International Feature, Best Film Editing, and Best Original Screenplay. Sentimental Value also highlights a recurring phenomenon in Hollywood, wherein the Academy will pass over a director's breakout film but shower the follow-up with nominations. In Trier's case, his previous film The Worst Person in the World received nominations for Best International Film and Original Screenplay but, in our opinion, deserved many more. We try to break down how and why this happens, whether films about filmmaking have an innate appeal to Oscar voters, how Fanning's star power helps bridge the international gap for voters, and the film itself, including its deft intermingling of artistic expression and sublimated generational trauma. With Joe's guidance, we also check in on some of the Oscar-buzziest films of the year that didn't pan out, check in on the state of the acting category race and some potential upsets, and celebrate The Secret Agent's breakout star Tânia Maria and her new role as Burger King spokeswoman. Danny Rensch was born into a cult that weaponized chess for prestige. He's here to explain how he broke free on part one of this two-part episode.Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1289What We Discuss with Danny Rensch:Cults don't always start with sinister blueprints. The Church of Immortal Consciousness where Danny Rensch was raised grew from self-help roots and communal idealism into full financial control — where members surrendered everything, kids shared bathwater, and the shoe list became a euphemism for "you don't matter enough to get a pair."The cult weaponized chess the same way the Soviet Union did — as a tool for prestige. Danny was identified as a prodigy, deliberately separated from his mother, and groomed as the collective's golden child. His talent wasn't nurtured for his sake — it was exploited for the cult leader's ego.By age 13, Danny was living alone, traveling to national chess tournaments with pockets full of cash and no adult supervision. The neglect wasn't just emotional — it was physical. Untreated swimmer's ear became severe infection, leaving him 60% deaf in one ear and 40% in the other.A drunk, defecting Soviet grandmaster named Igor Ivanov — who once fled the KGB during an emergency plane stop — became Danny's live-in chess coach. Igor had carte blanche to drink and do as he pleased, making him the cult's most functional dysfunction and Danny's unlikely lifeline to the wider chess world.Despite growing up as a high school dropout in a cult with no formal education, Danny became a successful writer and helped build Chess.com — proof that curiosity, baseline intelligence, and sheer determination can outrun even the most rigged starting hand. Motivated people can learn faster than any institution expects them to.And much more...And if you're still game to support us, please leave a review here — even one sentence helps!
