We've reached the two-minute warning, if you will, of the 2024 presidential campaign, the near-conclusion of our long slog of an election season, the end of a grueling, bruising competition. By the end of Tuesday night, we may know whether Kamala Harris or Donald Trump will coach the American attack – offense, defense and special teams -- for the next four years. But for the collection of men and women who own National Football League franchises, the race for the White House is just another contest, this one on a different surface than artificial turf. According to a USA Today review of Federal Election Commission filings, NFL owners contributed at least $28 million to federal political candidates and causes during the 2023-24 political cycle. That's seven times the amount the group donated during the 2020 period. Obviously, when you generate the kind of revenue the NFL does – an estimated $20 billion last year – you've got cash to throw around. And with that cash come influence. That these captains of industry are so willing and able to invest in the partisan realm speaks volumes about the freedom we enjoy. These folks get their hands dirty helping to mold democracy. And make no mistake: they shovel a lot of dirt. A major reason that the investment of these owners is so much higher than four years ago is that one of those executives shoveled much more this time than the rest. When Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen died five years ago, control of the club was sold to a group that includes members of the Walton family, which owns retail behemoth Wal-Mart. Rob Walton, the eldest Walton son, gave more than $16 million of his own fortune, during that cycle, while his daughter, Carrie and son-in-law Greg, have given $1.2 million themselves. They're not the only owners forking over big bucks to be part of the political process. Falcons owner Arthur Blank and Carolina owner David Tepper gave more than $2.5 million each, while Jets owner Woody Johnson contributed $1.8 million in that round. While some of the NFL money went exclusively to Gridiron PAC, a league-created organization designed to lobby congressmen and senators, the bulk of those donations went to Republicans and right-leaning causes. Indeed, USA Today reported that 83 percent of campaign contributions went to conservative candidates, political action committees and related organizations. Most of Tepper's money, for instance, went to former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley's presidential run, while Johnson, who was appointed ambassador to Great Britain by Trump, made all his contributions to the former president. Meanwhile, Blank, a co-founder of Home Depot, made donations to Democratic candidates, including Harris, whom he has formally endorsed. And Steelers owner Art Rooney II also has given to the vice president's campaign. There's a better than decent chance that we won't know who will emerge victorious from this year's campaign for a few days or longer. It's a big difference between politics and sports, where the winner is known immediately. We will however know who one group of winners will be: the NFL owners. And they'll be unbeaten from this election to the next one and the next one. And that's how I see it for this week. Today, Jim and Greg discuss the most compelling and important moments from the Republican National Convention Tuesday evening, President Biden's pandering to the hard left, and U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle's unsatisfying interview about the assassination attempt against Donald Trump.First, they review convention speeches from former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, as Haley sought to unite the party and DeSantis took a blowtorch to Biden and his record. They also highlight Madeline Brame's impassioned speech soft-on-crime policies of Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and other far left prosecutors. Jim believes that Nikki Haley's speech may turn out to be the most impactful in the coming election in moving the needle for Trump skeptics.Next, they shake their heads as Biden scrambles to save his campaign by appealing to hardline progressives with promises of federal rent control in a gaffe-filled speech. Jim is bewildered at why Democrats are pushing so hard to make him the nominee, seemingly terrified of a delegate fight this late in the election cycle. Finally, they put the spotlight on an interview that Director Cheatle did with ABC News, which raised more questions than it answered about how the shooter gained access to the roof of a building just 400 feet from Trump. They hope to see investigations and hearings that hold the Secret Service to greater accountability, but are resigned to the fact that Cheatle will not be stepping down and probably won't be fired.

Republican governors in southern states are pushing back against United Auto Workers' effort to organize automotive factories. South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster is among those saying unions could lead to layoffs and fewer investments. "The reason why the latest effort is happening is largely because of the success that the UAW had with its strike last year against General Motors, Ford and Stellantis," Steven Sylvia, professor at American University, said on WCNC's Flashpoint.
Former U.N. ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley dropped out of the Republican presidential primary Wednesday and declined to endorse former President Donald Trump. "I am filled with the gratitude for the outpouring of support we have received from all across our great country, but the time has now come to suspend my campaign," Haley said during her remarks. "I said I wanted Americans to have their voices heard. I have done that." Haley said she has no regrets. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/america-in-focus/support

There are no good martinis to start the week but Jim and Greg are ready to dig into one horrifically bad martini and two crazy ones.First, they're incensed over the death of nursing student Laken Riley, allegedly at the hands of a Venezuelan man who entered the U.S. illegally. In addition, the suspect was arrested for assaulting a child in New York City but officials there released him before Immigration and Customs Enforcement could take him into custody. In addition, rather than focus on either of those policy problems, the mainstream media quickly decided that the real story here is that women face risks when jogging alone and, of course, that Republicans are pouncing on this terrible news.Next, they get a kick out of RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel announcing she will resign in the next couple of weeks and trying to make us believe that major party chairs regularly step down in the middle of a presidential election year. Finally, there is increasing buzz about former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley running as a third party candidate. But, as Jim points out, her current campaign creates a very big problem if Haley wants to switch gears for November. Please visit our great sponsors:4Patriothttps://4Patriots.com/martiniStay connected with the Patriot Power Solar Generator 2000X on sale now. Super Tuesday, which is March 5, and traditionally one of the most important dates on the US political calendar, is fast approaching. This primary season however, has been far from traditional and former US President Donald Trump is likely to be the Republican presidential nominee against incumbent Democratic President Joe Biden according to polling. The only rival still in the race for the Republican nomination is former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who vows to continue to stay in the race. How important is Super Tuesday and why is it a deal breaker for presidential candidate campaigns? Emeritus Professor Joseph Camil-leri, La Trobe University, Melbourne and Fellow, The Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia weighs in. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Following a town hall event, five undecided South Carolina voters revealed to Fox News their inclination to support former President Donald Trump in the upcoming Republican primary. This shift in sentiment was reflected in a Suffolk University/USA Today survey, which indicated Trump's significant lead over former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley among voters "very likely" to participate in the primary, with Trump garnering 63% compared to Haley's 35%. During the town hall, Trump's message centered on strength and a commitment to his policies, resonating strongly with the attendees. One voter remarked on Trump's commanding presence, describing him as the type of leader they would want to vote for. Another expressed appreciation for Trump's assertion that his "revenge" would be found in the success of his policies, rather than through personal vendettas against opponents like Haley. Despite concerns about Trump's tone prior to the event, the voters were won over by his likable demeanor and focused approach to addressing critical issues. Trump's response to questions regarding combating drug trafficking and homelessness particularly stood out to the attendees, who found his seriousness on these matters commendable. They praised Trump's ability to captivate a room with his presence and expressed excitement at the prospect of supporting him in the primary. In response to a question about his sense of humor, Trump maintained a serious tone, emphasizing the nation's challenges and the need for strong leadership. This sincerity resonated with the voters, reinforcing their belief in Trump's ability to address pressing issues facing the country. Despite initial reservations, the voters left the town hall with a newfound enthusiasm for Trump's candidacy, viewing him as a compelling leader capable of delivering results.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

President Joe Biden has angrily defended himself amid questions about his cognitive ability. The president insisted his memory is fine, after the special counsel who led the investigation into his handling of classified documents cited the president's “poor memory” as a factor in the decision not to prosecute him. President Trump did not face any significant opposition in the contest. His only major rival, former South Carolina Gov. The one county that did not go for Trump was Johnson County, where former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley led Trump by one vote with 99% of votes counted. Haley received 1,271 votes, approximately 35.5% of the vote in Johnson County, while Trump received 1,270 votes, according to GOP officials in the state. Haley finished third statewide behind Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Trump pulled in a majority of votes with 51%. Haley claimed her third-place finish was evidence of momentum when considering polling numbers in upcoming primary states. "When you look at how well we’re doing in New Hampshire, in South Carolina and beyond, I can safely say tonight Iowa made this Republican primary a two-person race," Haley said. DeSantis visited every county and invested significant time and resources in the Hawkeye State, and weeks ago was predicting he would win the caucuses. Recently he had been saying he embraced the underdog role in the state. "Because of your support, in spite of all of what they threw at us, we got our ticket punched out of Iowa," DeSantis said in his speech. DeSantis outperformed some polling expectations on Monday night, finishing at roughly 21% when the Real Clear Politics average of polls showed him at 15.7% before votes were cast. "They threw everything at Ron DeSantis," a senior DeSantis campaign official told Fox News Digital late Monday night. "They couldn’t kill him. He is not only still standing, but he’s now earned his ticket out of Iowa. This is going to be a long battle ahead, but that is what this campaign is built for. The stakes are too high for this nation and we will not back down." Trump currently holds large leads in the polls in both New Hampshire and South Carolina. The former president won a landslide victory Monday in the Iowa Caucus, the first contest of the 2024 presidential nomination. Haley placed third in Iowa, with 19.1% of the vote. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis accused Haley of not wanting to answer “tough questions” on topics such as her alleged dealings with aircraft manufacturer Boeing while she was governor of South Carolina. “The reality is that she is not running for the nomination, she’s running to be Trump’s VP,” DeSantis posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday. “I won’t snub New Hampshire voters like both Nikki Haley and Donald Trump, and plan to honor my commitments. I look forward to debating two empty podiums in the Granite State this week.” The next GOP primary debate is scheduled for Thursday, days before the New Hampshire primary on Jan. 23. Police say Hernandez and three or four others took part in the murder of Richard Hernandez, 21 on Feb. 9, 2020. “Mr. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty and fully intends on fighting the charges against him,” his attorney, Mahmoud Rabah, told the Daily News on Monday. “Mr. Hernandez is a committed father of a young child,” Rabah claimed. “He is a hardworking immigrant who has held a stable job in a meat processing plant for years. The Iowa caucuses. On Monday, Donald Trump scored a landslide victory in the Iowa caucuses, kicking off the 2024 Republican presidential primary with a big win. Polls closed in Iowa at 7:00 pm CT/8:00 pm ET, and by 8:32 pm ET The New York Times, 538 and ABC News, and Fox News Decision Desk had all declared Donald Trump the winner. The former president began his third presidential campaign by winning 98 of Iowa's 99 counties and capturing 51% of the vote, a record for margin of victory in the Iowa caucuses. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis finished second with 21% of the vote, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley finished third with 19%, and Vivek Ramaswamy finished fourth with 8%. Just over 108,000 voters, or 14.4% of the state's Republicans, turned out to vote. It was the lowest turnout in the Iowa caucuses since 2008. After the race was called, Ramaswamy officially dropped out and endorsed Donald Trump. You can read today's podcast here, our “Under the Radar” story here, and today's “Have a nice day” story here. The former president, according to the Real Clear Politics average of polls, holds a 14-point lead in New Hampshire and a 30-point lead in South Carolina. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/01/16/nikki-haley-refuses-more-presidential-debates-unless-trump-participates.html Nikki Haley refuses more presidential debates unless Trump participates Nikki Haley said she would not participate in any further primary debates unless front-runner Donald Trump is on stage. The polls didn't lie. Former President Donald Trump was projected to be the winner of the Iowa caucuses Monday night just about 30 minutes after they began. In the polls, Trump had a 30-point lead, give or take, over former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as Iowans arrived at their caucus locations at 7 p.m. local time. Following his win, Trump told Fox News Digital that he is “greatly honored by such an early call.""It really is an honor that, minutes after, they've announced I've won—against very credible competition—great competition, actually," Trump said.Eli Huber, Iowa state director of Heritage Action for America, told “The Daily Signal Podcast” he is not surprised by the caucus results. “Based off my conversations with activists all around the state of Iowa, I'm not really surprised that President Trump, despite now being nearly four years since he was in office, continues to have a lot of the same energy that we saw back in 2020,” Huber says. New Hampshire voters will head to the polls Jan. 23 to cast their ballots in the first primary of the 2024 election, followed by South Carolina voters on Feb. 24.Huber joins the show to discuss the results of the Iowa caucuses, and the leading issues on the minds of voters as they begin casting ballots for the Republican 2024 presidential nominee. This is Stephen Schmidt from the Gazette Digital News Desk, and I'm here with your update for January 16, 2024.According to the National Weather Service it will be sunny and cold Tuesday, with a high near one degree. Wind chill values could drop as low as -35 degrees. On Tuesday evening it will be mostly clear, with a low of around -6 degrees.Donald Trump's popularity among Iowa Republicans was on full display Monday night, when the former president seeking a return to the White House won the state party's presidential precinct caucuses in dominant fashion. With all of the state's 99 counties reporting their vote totals late Monday evening, Trump had won 98 counties, securing 51 percent of Iowa Republicans' support in total. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis won second place with 21 percent, and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley finished third with 19 percent.Republicans who spoke with the Gazette said they supported Trump because they feel the country is worse off than it was 4 years ago, and they would like a return to a Trump presidency. They said they trust him to secure the southern border and to improve the economy. Many of them also felt that they can't trust politicians, so they will put their faith in someone from outside the system. In case you are curious, the one county that Trump did not win was Johnson County, which gave the number one nod to Haley instead by the current margin of one vote.Trump took the stage at his caucus-night rally at around 10 p.m. and thanked Iowa Republican caucus participants, his family, the Iowa public officials who have supported him, and his fellow candidates: DeSantis, Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy. He then turned his remarks to current Democratic President Joe Biden, and celebrated his historic victory margin.DeSantis and Haley both proclaimed in their post-caucus speeches that despite not winning the caucus, they felt their finishes had given them enough momentum to stay in the race. Not so for Ramaswamy. The Ohio biotech entrepreneur, who promised his far-right and anti-establishment policy proposals could unite the country around a shared identity, garnered less than 8 percent in Iowa's caucuses. He decided Monday evening to drop out of the race and endorse Trump. The Republican Party of Iowa late Monday night said it projected statewide caucus turnout of roughly 100,000, which was lower than usual for understandable reasons. Temperatures across the state reached historic lows for an Iowa caucus night, with wind chills in the range of minus 30 degrees.Next up is the New Hampshire Primary on January 23. Enjoy the absence of political commercials and political texts. For a little while, at least.

The fourth, and perhaps final, Republican presidential primary debate as four candidates met Wednesday night in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Once again, GOP front-runner Donald Trump declined to appear.Sarah Feldpausch, director of government relations at Heritage Action for America, joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss the biggest hits and misses of this fourth debate. (The Daily Signal is the news outlet of The Heritage Foundation, whose grassroots advocacy arm is Heritage Action.)Gathered without Trump at the University of Alabama were Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. The debate could well be the final GOP presidential debate before the Iowa caucuses Jan. 15. Since the third GOP debate Nov. 8, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina dropped out of the race. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, who didn't meet qualification tests for the third debate, announced Monday that he is suspending his campaign. Trump chose to skip the fourth debate as he did the preceding ones, instead participating Tuesday night in a live "town hall" meeting hosted by Fox News host Sean Hannity in Davenport, Iowa. On the night of the debate, Trump planned to hold a fundraiser in Florida. Feldpausch also assesses Trump's live appearance Tuesday night with Hannity. Enjoy the show! Hosted on Acast. Some newer polls claim former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is now in second place for the race for Republican nominee. Now, it's pretty far-fetched to think she could be the nominee, considering Donald Trump is double-digits ahead. But could she potentially be a contender for VICE president? Trump is an unpredictable guy...
This is Stephen Schmidt from the Gazette Digital News Desk, and I'm here with your update for November 22, 2023.According to the National Weather Service it will be sunny Wednesday in the Cedar Rapids area with a high near 46 degrees. On Wednesday evening it will be mostly clear, with a low of around 31 degrees. The super PAC backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is taking Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds to the airwaves in a pair of ads that feature Reynolds encouraging voters to support DeSantis. The ads are part of a seven-figure ad buy in Iowa from Never Back Down. They are the first to feature Reynolds making a direct-to-camera pitch for DeSantis, who she endorsed for the Republican presidential nomination this month following months of public discord with the GOP front-runner, former President Donald Trump. That feud continued Tuesday with Trump releasing a video on social media noting that Gov. Reynolds has gone from one of the most popular governors in the country to one of the least popular. He then suggested Reynolds must have been promised a position by DeSantis to back someone so far back in the polls.Recent polls of likely Iowa caucus goers show DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley jockeying for a distant second place behind Trump. According to an average of polls by FiveThirtyEight, Trump has nearly 45 percent of support of Iowa Republicans, while DeSantis has 17.5 percent and Haley has around 15 percent.A former softball coach at Solon High School and Clear Creek Amana High School pleaded guilty Tuesday to sexually assaulting a teenage student about 17 years ago.James Anthony White, 59, of North Liberty, charged with two counts of third-degree sexual abuse and two counts of sexual exploitation by a school employee, pleaded guilty in Johnson County District Court to one count of third-degree sexual abuse and enticing a minor away with intent to assault.White, during the plea hearing, admitted to sexually assaulting the victim when she was 14- and 15-years-old, from January 2006 through December 2007. He also admitted to enticing away the victim with intent to commit assault.District Court Judge David Cox said, as part of the plea agreement, the 10- and five-year prison sentences will run consecutively but will be suspended and White will receive probation. The sentencing judge will determine the length of probation.Johnson County Attorney Rachel Zimmermann Smith said the victim had been consulted about the plea agreement and had agreed to it.The woman, who was a student of White's during the 2006-07 school year and was coached by him on the Clear Creek Amana softball team, told police about the past sexual abuse incidents in early 2022, according to a criminal complaint. She told police she was 15 when White was her teacher and coach, and said she had been groomed by White and they had a sexual relationship.White was a teacher and softball coach at Clear Creek Amana for several years before leaving in 2012 to coach at Solon High School. He coached softball at Solon until 2017, then returned as an assistant baseball coach for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. His contract at Solon ended the summer of 2022, according to the Solon School District.
I don't think many people were surprised that Gov. Doug Burgum did not take first place in the North Dakota Poll's presidential preference survey. Like it or not, Donald Trump is a singular political figure among Republicans in this moment in history. He makes his own gravity. Of course he was going to be the first choice for president among Republicans. He's also the first choice in Florida and South Carolina, despite the presence of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and South Carolina U.S. Senator Tim Scott in the race. But did you expect Burgum to come in third place? Behind DeSantis? And just a couple of points ahead of Haley? I expected him to do better. We talked about that on this episode of Plain Talk. We also discussed some of the recent off-year elections around the nation, where Trump's populist movement took it on the chin, and what that means for the durability of that movement. The third Republican presidential debate was held on Wednesday night in Miami. Five candidates took the stage: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Former President Donald Trump was again absent, choosing instead to hold a rally in a Miami suburb. NBC News' Lester Holt and Kristen Welker moderated the debate along with conservative talk show host Hugh Hewitt. The third Republican debate. On Wednesday night, five Republican candidates took the stage in Miami, Florida, to debate foreign policy, abortion, former President Donald Trump's record, and the economy. To qualify for the third debate, candidates needed to poll above 4% in either two national surveys or in one national survey and two surveys from early-nominating states. Each candidate also needed to receive more than 70,000 individual donations. The Iowa caucuses for Republicans begin in just over two months. On stage were Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Former President Trump, who is leading in the polls, skipped the debate for the third time. You can read today's podcast here and today's “Have a nice day” story here. Iranian-backed terrorists in Yemen shot down a U.S. military drone over international waters on Wednesday, which comes after U.S. forces throughout the region have been repeatedly attacked by Iran's terrorist proxies. Photographers from the Associated Press and Reuters appear to have been embedded with Hamas terrorists as they executed terrorist attacks against Israel on October 7, according to a new report from Honest Reporting, a media watchdog. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's administration is demanding answers from several prominent news agencies after criticism emerged of their photographers appearing to have been embedded with Hamas terrorists during the October 7 attack. Republicans across social media are calling on Republican National Committee (RNC) chairwoman Ronna McDaniel to resign following Tuesday evening's elections, which saw a major GOP loss in Kentucky. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) may have been center stage at Wednesday's GOP presidential debate, but former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley appeared to be top of mind to most candidates. On the version of Hot off the Wire posted Nov. 7 at 7:30 a.m. CT: COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio is the latest flashpoint in the nation's ongoing battle over abortion access since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a constitutional right to the procedure last year. Voters on Tuesday are deciding whether to pass a constitutional amendment guaranteeing an individual right to abortion and other forms of reproductive healthcare, including fertility treatments. Ohio is the only state to consider a statewide abortion-rights question this year, so advocates on both sides of the issue are watching the outcome for signs of voter sentiment heading into 2024 — when abortion-rights supporters are planning to put measures on the ballot in several other states. KHAN YOUNIS, Gaza Strip (AP) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that Israel will take “overall security responsibility” in Gaza indefinitely after its war with Hamas. That was the clearest indication yet that Israel plans to maintain control over the coastal enclave one month into a conflict that has claimed thousands of lives and leveled whole swaths of the territory. In an interview with ABC News that aired late Monday, Netanyahu expressed openness to “little pauses” in the fighting to facilitate the delivery of aid to Gaza or the release of some of the more than 240 hostages seized by Hamas in its Oct. 7 attack into Israel that triggered the war. But he ruled out any general cease-fire without the release of all the hostages. WASHINGTON (AP) — Taxpayers will be able to digitally submit all sorts of tax documents and other communications to the IRS months earlier than originally planned. That's according to a new timetable being announced Tuesday. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen says the IRS is three months ahead of schedule on going paperless. She plans to discuss the effort in a speech at IRS headquarters that is intended to signal that a new infusion of cash for the IRS is working. But as IRS and Treasury plan to outline new customer service improvements for the 2024 filing season, Republicans continue to try to cut funding for the agency. NEW YORK (AP) — WeWork has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, marking a stunning fall for the office sharing company once seen as a Wall Street darling that promised to upend the way people went to work around the world. WeWork said it entered into a restructuring support agreement with the majority of its stakeholders to “drastically reduce” the company's debt while further evaluating WeWork's commercial office lease portfolio. WeWork added that it was requesting the ability to cancel leases in particular locations that WeWork described as largely non-operational as part of its filing. All affected members have received advanced notice. COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The field of candidates onstage for the third Republican presidential debate will be the smallest yet. The Republican National Committee says five candidates will participate in Wednesday night's debate in Miami. They are Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Former President Donald Trump, the field's current front-runner, is yet again skipping the debate and holding an event of his own. The escalating qualification markers have become increasingly difficult for candidates to satisfy. Former Vice President Mike Pence suspended his campaign last month, avoiding the ignominy of failing to qualify. Monday's sports highlights: The Chargers roll past the Jets on Monday Night Football, James Harden makes his debut for the Clippers and college basketball opens with 4th ranked Michigan State getting stunned. CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Cubs have hired manager Craig Counsell away from Milwaukee, landing the former big leaguer with a record-breaking contract and firing David Ross in a tandem of surprising moves. The 53-year-old Counsell became the majors' highest paid manager with a five-year contract worth more than $40 million. That's according to a person with knowledge of the deal who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the terms weren't announced. Ross went 262-284 in four seasons with Chicago, winning the NL Central in 2020 in his first year in charge. Counsell led the budget-conscious Brewers to five playoff appearances in the last six years. NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Mets are hiring Yankees bench coach Carlos Mendoza as their manager, according to a person familiar with the decision. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the move had not been announced. Mendoza spent the past four seasons across town as Aaron Boone's bench coach with the New York Yankees. He replaces Buck Showalter, who was fired by the Mets at the end of last season. It's the first high-profile hire by new Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns, who took over his hometown team early last month. CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Guardians have hired Stephen Vogt, a journeyman catcher with no managerial experience, as their new manager to replace Terry Francona. Vogt was Seattle's bullpen coach last season. Although the 39-year-old Vogt has never been a manager, he checked every other box for the Guardians, who also spoke with Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell last week. A two-time All-Star, Vogt played for six teams in 10 seasons before retiring with Oakland in 2022. He homered in his final at-bat for the Athletics. The Guardians are beginning a new era following 11 successful seasons with Francona, the winningest manager in the club's 123-year history. On the version of Hot off the Wire posted Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. CT: NEW YORK (AP) — Former President Donald Trump is vigorously defending his wealth and his business as he testifies in a civil fraud lawsuit accusing him of dramatically inflating his net worth. He suggested on Monday that the New York judge hearing the case was biased against him and he called the state attorney general who brought the case a “political hack.” The testy exchanges underscored Trump's unwillingness to adapt his famously freewheeling rhetorical style to a formal courtroom setting governed by rules of evidence and legal protocol. ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Personal appeals from President Joe Biden to his Israeli counterpart and a grueling Middle East diplomatic tour by his Secretary of State Antony Blinken have left the Biden administration with little to show for its efforts to ease civilian suffering. More than a week after the U.S. began its public calls for “humanitarian pauses” in Gaza, Israel is intensifying its war against Hamas. Biden on Monday appeared to be rebuffed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, when he repeated during their first conversation in eight days his for call for lulls in the fighting to allow civilians to flee and for humanitarian aid to flow to hundreds of thousands in need. CHICAGO (AP) — A Chicago man has been charged with multiple counts of attempted murder and other charges for allegedly firing his gun into a crowd at a Halloween party, injuring 15 people. Police said Tuesday the 48-year-old man faced 15 counts each of attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm and single counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated discharge of a firearm into an occupied building. The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday after the man was thrown out of the party and returned with a gun. Police say all of the victims are expected to recover. NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Mets are hiring Yankees bench coach Carlos Mendoza as their manager, according to a person familiar with the decision. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the move had not been announced. Mendoza spent the past four seasons across town as Aaron Boone's bench coach with the Yankees. He replaces Buck Showalter, who was fired by the Mets at the end of last season. It's the first high-profile hire by new Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns, who took over his hometown team early last month. NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. regulators are warning drivers to steer clear of aftermarket decals used to embellish a car's logo on the center of its steering wheel. Such metal or plastic emblems are typically adorned with rhinestones or other decorations and attached to the steering wheel with an adhesive back. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says they can cause serious injury if ejected when the airbag deploys during a crash. The agency says that at least one driver lost sight in one eye after an aftermarket decal covered in rhinestones became dislodged from the wheel during a crash and hit them in the face. LONDON (AP) — Four men have been charged over the theft of an 18-carat gold toilet from Blenheim Palace, the sprawling English mansion where British wartime leader Winston Churchill was born. The toilet, valued at $5.95 million, was the work of Italian conceptual artist Maurizio Cattelan. It was part of an art installation that had been installed at Blenheim Palace, near the city of Oxford, before it vanished overnight in September 2019. The Crown Prosecution Service said Monday it has authorized criminal charges against four men, ages 35-39, over the theft. They are accused of burglary and conspiracy to transfer criminal property. The golden toilet, titled “America,” was intended to be a pointed satire about excessive wealth. It has never been found. BEAR, Del. (AP) — President Joe Biden has promoted new cash for Amtrak. He visited Bear, Delaware, to announce more than $16 billion in new funding that will go toward 25 passenger rail projects between Boston and Washington. Bear is close to Wilmington, where Biden has a home and spends many weekends away from the White House. His remarks Monday were held at the Amtrak Bear Maintenance Shops, where trains are maintained and repaired. The White House says investments will help trains run faster, cut delays and create union jobs. And the money comes from Biden's bipartisan infrastructure law, which is one of several legislative accomplishments he will tout during his reelection campaign. NEW YORK (AP) — James Corden may be off TV screens after leaving CBS' “The Late Late Show” but that doesn't mean he's stopped chatting with celebrities. The multiple Emmy- and Tony Award-winner who gave the world “Carpool Karaoke” is launching a new weekly show set for early 2024 on SiriusXM called “This Life of Mine with James Corden.” The show will feature in-depth conversations with the world's biggest stars. In a statement, Corden called his new show “a new chapter,” adding “it's a dream to have a space to engage in deep conversations with the people whose work and talent I greatly admire.” On this week's AP religion roundup, Muslim Americans are skeptical about President Biden's fight against Islamophobia as the United States supports Israel's war in Gaza. —The Associated Press About this program Host Terry Lipshetz is a senior producer for Lee Enterprises. A baseball fan and his emotional support alligator, Wally, tried to get into the game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday in the City of Brotherly Love. There's a rivalry brewing in the Republican presidential primary. While the second GOP debate was mired in crosstalk and suffered from a lack of constraint by the moderators, one theme that stood out was former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley mixing it up with young entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. Fox News contributor and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Thursday on Fox News Channel's “The Ingraham Angle” that former President Donald Trump will be the 2024 Republican presidential nominee. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), the longest-tenured female senator, has died, a source familiar with the matter confirmed to the Washington Examiner. She was 90. Never-Trump Republicans are trying to lure Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) into the GOP presidential primary as there is growing concern over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis's (R) sinking poll numbers. House Republicans used their first impeachment inquiry hearing on Thursday to lay out the basis for starting the proceedings, just one day after releasing hundreds of pages of evidence in the Hunter Biden investigation.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), one of Capitol Hill's leading voices on student loan forgiveness, owes the Department of Education up to $50,000 in student loans, according to the New Yorker's recent financial disclosure. The filing, which was reviewed by the Washington Examiner, documented that the congresswoman owed the department between $15,000 and $50,000 for her student loans as of 2022. That same year, Ocasio-Cortez led the call for the Biden administration to cancel thousands of dollars in loans for each student. "Now would be a great time to cancel student loan debt, take significant climate action, and pass voting rights," Ocasio-Cortez posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, in May 2022 in response to a Marist poll that showed President Joe Biden had a low approval rating among young adults. Ocasio-Cortez's student loan debt was already known, as the congresswoman's 2021 financial disclosure showed her holding up to $50,000 in liability. Biden revealed his student loan forgiveness plan in August 2022 to forgive up to $20,000 worth of student loan debt for borrowers who make under $125,000 a year individually or $250,000 for married couples. Members of Congress earn an annual salary of $174,000. Although Ocasio-Cortez celebrated the plan, she called for more forgiveness for people who owed even more debt. "It was YOUR pushing, YOUR pressure, YOUR organizing that got them to this point," Ocasio-Cortez posted on Instagram. "I am very grateful for this watershed moment of a first step — it is so encouraging, thrilling, and has already changed SO many people's lives. But I am also thinking about how this still leaves a question mark for those in the highest amounts of debt, who need the most amount of help. So let's celebrate and keep going." Fellow "Squad" member Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) is among those who owe money, with Tlaib owing more than $100,000 to the Department of Education for her law degree. Tlaib pushed for the Biden administration to forgive at least $50,000 in student loan debt for individual borrowers last year. More Trump news now… https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/08/15/morning-consult-poll-trump-boasts-41-point-lead-one-week-ahead-republican-debate/ Trump Boasts 41-Point Lead One Week Ahead of Republican Debate Former President Donald Trump is boasting a 41-point lead in the Republican primary roughly one week ahead of the first GOP debate, which will take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on August 23. The survey found Trump maintaining majority support, with 57 percent of potential Republican primary viewers choosing him as their candidate, despite ongoing legal troubles which have not had a negative effect on him. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has attempted to revamp his campaign over the last few months — from laying off dozens of staffers to replacing his campaign manager — remains in a distant second place, 41 points behind Trump with 16 percent support. Anti-woke businessman Vivek Ramaswamy comes in third place, just seven percent behind DeSantis with nine percent support. Former Vice President Mike Pence came in fourth place with seven percent support, followed by South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who all saw three percent support. All others listed saw one percent support or less. That portion of the survey was taken August 11-13, among 3,064 potential Republican primary voters and has a +/- 2 percent margin of error. Again, the survey shows choices for a second-choice candidate diversifying, as 36 percent of Trump supporters choose DeSantis as their second choice, followed by nearly one-quarter, 23 percent, who chose Ramaswamy. His account posted: “We’re laser-focused on getting aid to survivors, including Critical Needs Assistance: a one-time $700 payment per household offering relief during an unimaginably difficult time.” The one-time payment of $700 per household is less than the estimated cost to each American household for the Ukraine War, according to a budget expert at the Heritage Foundation. Richard Stern, director of The Heritage Foundation’s Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget, calculated that the congressionally-approved aid to Ukraine of $113 billion amounts to roughly $900 per American household. “The formal aid packages alone amount to a staggering $113 billion — roughly $900 per American household and almost 12 times the spending cuts promised by House leadership in the annual spending bills,” Stern said in an email to The Daily Signal, Heritage’s news outlet. Furthermore, he said the $113 billion would cost more than $300 in interest costs per household over the decade. According to new data published by the Wall Street Journal, over 577,000 Americans are homeless today, representing an 11 percent increase compared to 2022. The increase “would represent by far the biggest recorded increase since the government started tracking comparable numbers in 2007,” the Journal notes/ “The next highest increase was a 2.7% jump in 2019, excluding an artificially high increase last year caused by pandemic counting interruptions,” the outlet adds. Out of the nearly 600,000 homeless Americans, 150,000 are considered chronically homeless because they have lived on the streets for over a year, with many suffering from mental illness. Despite the homeless problem, Biden is asking Congress to approve hundreds of millions in American taxpayer dollars for a housing development project for illegal migrants. As The Daily Fetched reported last week, Biden is asking for more funds as part of a $40 billion emergency funding request to Congress. The request includes a whopping $2.7 billion for the Department of Homeland Security’s various border efforts. There are 57,300 migrants in the city, with an estimated 100,000 that will need services by June 2025. Adams admitted that the massive increase in migrants could cost the city as much as $12 billion over the next three years. As Breitbart noted: “Much of the taxpayer money would end up in the hands of left-wing non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that have profited immensely from illegal immigration in recent years via federal contracts with DHS. Border crossers and illegal aliens who would get to take advantage of the housing project would likely stay for an extended period of time, as a sample size of DHS data recently found that fewer than 2-in-10 are being placed into deportation proceedings after release into the U.S. interior.” Now in entertainment news… slash sports. https://www.boundingintosports.com/2023/08/all-lies-retired-nfl-player-michael-oher-says-biographical-film-the-blind-side-mostly-made-up-was-never-adopted-by-the-tuohys/ All Lies: Retired NFL Player Michael Oher Says Biographical Film ‘The Blind Side’ Mostly Made Up, Was Never ‘Adopted’ By The Tuohys Michael Oher, the retired NFL star depicted in the 2009 film The Blind Side, filed a petition Monday in Shelby County, Tennessee probate court challenging the portrayal of his “adoption” by the now-famous Tuohy family. According to the 14-page petition, the Tuohys never formally adopted Oher. Instead, they allegedly had him sign conservatorship documents shortly after he turned 18 in 2004, giving them the authority to make business decisions on his behalf. Oher claims he was unaware of the specifics, believing all along that he had been adopted by the family. Oher accuses the family of also profiting from the popular film about his story, which grossed over $300 million, while he received nothing. Oher stated that the Tuohy’s wealth and notoriety “would not have existed without him.” Since the film came out in 2009, the Tuohys have continued to profit off of Oher using the, as Oher claims, false story to enrich themselves. The Tuohy family did not immediately respond for comment when reached out to by ESPN. Oher’s petition seeks an end to the conservatorship, prohibits the Tuohys from using his name and likeness, and demands an accounting of the profits they derived using his story. In previous statements, the Tuohys claimed they shared their movie earnings with Oher. However, the NFL star’s trust in the family eroded over time, especially due to the film’s portrayal of him. “The lie of Michael’s adoption is one upon which Co-Conservators Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy have enriched themselves at the expense of their Ward, the undersigned Michael Oher,” says Oher’s official legal filing. “Michael Oher discovered this lie to his chagrin and embarrassment in February of 2023, when he learned that the Conservatorship to which he consented on the basis that doing so would make him a member of the Tuohy family, in fact provided him no familial relationship with the Tuohys. “Since at least August of 2004, Conservators have allowed Michael, specifically, and the public, generally, to believe that Conservators adopted Michael and have used that untruth to gain financial advantages for themselves and the foundations which they own or which they exercise control,” the petition continues. “All monies made in said manner should in all conscience and equity be disgorged and paid over to the said ward, Michael Oher.” Legally, adoption would have made Oher a Tuohy family member with financial autonomy. However, under the conservatorship, the Tuohys had financial control. The petition claims the Tuohys negotiated the movie deal after the 2006 book “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game,” and received $225,000 each and 2.5% of the film’s net proceeds. The Blind Side grossed over $300 million and earned significant home video sales. It was nominated for Best Picture, and Sandra Bullock won Best Actress. Oher went on to a very successful NFL career, which includes a Super Bowl victory with the Ravens in the “Harbaugh Bowl” of 2013, and later played in Super Bowl 50 for the Panthers, covering quarterback Cam Newton’s blind side.

Another 11 percent said Pence, followed by five percent who said Haley and Scott, and 14 percent unsure. Similarly, 37 percent of DeSantis supporters chose Trump as their second-choice candidate, followed by 21 percent who said Ramaswamy, 14 percent who said Pence, 12 percent who said Haley, eight percent who chose Scott, and three percent who remain unsure. The Republican Party's newest presidential candidate, former South Carolina Gov. and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, introduced herself by showcasing her roots as a child of immigrants. Haley's family, originally from India, immigrated to the United States in 1969 and settled in a small, segregated town, Bamberg, S.C., where she was born three years later. One can glean two reasons why Haley is spotlighting her background and presenting her candidacy as a successful minority woman. First, one doesn't need to be “woke” to recognize the value of an Asian American woman running for president with an agenda...Article Link
This interview is with Matthew D. Taylor, who wrote and created a recent podcast series called "Charismatic Revival Fury." Taylor is the Protestant Scholar at the Institute for Islamic, Christian and Jewish Studies, in Baltimore. We know about the Proud Boys, and the Big Lie, and former President Trump's role in spreading it and deceiving millions of Americans into believing the 2020 election was stolen from them. But there was an element in the crowd spurred on to radical anti-democratic lawlessness by something more than politics. It was "revival fury."That's the phrase created by Taylor, who has studied a sub-culture of American evangelicalism — called the New Apostolic Reformation — and mapped its 30-year history as well as its many links to the January 6 insurrection.Taylor's extensive historical research provides a depth of context to a shocking revelation: the Trump White House itself was in touch with key NAR leaders in the weeks after the 2020 election and leading up to the attack on the Capitol. In fact, one key NAR leader said "government leaders" asked him to conduct a tour of churches after the 2020 election to energize and mobilize Trump supporters to support the effort to overturn the election results. This NAR leader, Dutch Sheets, had already been part of a Trump White House outreach effort in 2019 led by Trump faith adviser Paula White Cain. The Sheets tour turned into a whirlwind tour of seven swing states over a month's time, in which roughly two-dozen self-proclaimed prophets whipped large crowds into a frenzy of religious fervor mixed with apocalyptic and violent imagery of defeating demonic forces, which were attributed to Democrats and President Biden. He calls it "charismatic revival fury" and has produced a podcast series by that name. Many of these NAR followers believed that if Trump were reinstated it would spark a religious revival leading to the conversion of a billion people to not just Christianity, but their brand of the faith.Taylor draws a distinction between personal "spiritual warfare" — a fairly standard belief held by many Christians in America and around the world — and the kind of hyper-radicalized version of "strategic spiritual warfare" promoted by NAR that risks pushing its adherents into the kind of violence we saw on January 6.Taylor also cautions that political figures on the right are playing with rhetoric that risks further radicalizing religious supporters, and that these remarks fall on a spectrum. On the most extreme, you have former Trump national security advisor Michael Flynn literally calling former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi a "demon."But other Republicans are also toying with such ideas. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has quoted a passage from the Bible where he replaces "the devil" with "the left." And former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley this week said that debates over how to teach children in schools about gender "is absolutely spiritual warfare."Taylor's research shows that talking about these topics requires a deftness and precision that avoids painting all conservative Christians with such a broad brush that it risks pushing them closer to extremist radicals, rather than bringing them into a broader conversation that can serve as a moderating force."We need to be able to see the diversity within these movements, not paint with such a broad brush that says anyone who holds some theological idea or participates in some theological meme is therefore an extremist," Taylor told Yahoo News. "I think we really need to focus on people who actually behave in extreme ways and say extreme things."See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Finally, they note former UN ambassador and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley strongly hinting towards a 2024 presidential run and they wonder just how big this GOP field is going to get. Please visit our great sponsors:Nutrafolhttps://nutrafol.com/menEnter promo code MARTINI to save $15 on your first month's subscription.

Biden and His Fascist MandatesPROTECT THE AMERICAN WAY OF LIFEWoke Communists are re-writing our history and erasing the foundation of what it means to be an American. Now, more than ever we need to stand together, united to push back.Corporate media, big government, and big tech are aligned with the woke communists. It is time for patriotic Americans to protect individual rights, the rule of law, and a shared understanding of the common good.Join me in signing the "American Way of Life" pledge, and promise to preserve and protect American values as they're enshrined in our founding principles.https://www.americanwayoflifepledge.com/Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."Joe Biden: "[Vaccine mandates are] not about freedom or personal choice. It's about protecting yourself."Spot the difference?https://tv.gab.com/channel/peterboykin/view/biden-and-his-fascist-mandates-6141de9c70d6269c0bcd5c8bMeanwhile, the Coward Puppet in Chief is being censored, by who you ask? The White House abruptly cut the feed of President Biden's briefing mid-sentence as he asks a question at a wildfires briefing on wildfires with federal and state officials.During a visit to Boise, Idaho, Biden received a briefing about the ongoing wildfires that have plagued several Western states. While Biden spoke for much of the briefing, at one point he said he wanted to hear more from George Geissler of the National Association of State Foresters."Can I ask you a question?" Biden asked. "Of course," Geissler responded. "One of the things that I've been working on with some others is —" Biden said before being cut off mid-sentence.Now, There's a report out of Politico [a left-wing news site that Democrats love leaking to] that Biden staffers literally mute or turn off the TV altogether when Joe Biden is taking questions from the press. Why? Because they can't bear the anxiety of hearing him make gaffe after gaffe. ...now we know why Biden always says "I'm gonna get in trouble for this" when he takes questions. Well, we all know by now that Joe Biden made a speech where he sets out new mandates for unvaccinated Americans. During this speech there were a few topics addressed:Biden pressured unvaccinated to get the vaccineBiden pressured private companies to mandate vaccinesBiden pressured vaccinated to get booster shotsBiden pressured for stronger mask requirementsDon't think for a second this is about Covid. This speech, and all the attention it's going to get, is about shifting focus from Biden's geopolitical crisis in Afghanistan and his economic crisis at home.So are we living in a Constitutional Republic or under an Authoritarian Fascist Mandates Government now?History is littered with authoritarians who seized control of nations through false promises to their citizens. Joe Biden is now one of those authoritarians. Back up: Before becoming President, Biden promised Americans: “I don't think [Covid vaccines] should be mandatory. I wouldn't demand it to be mandatory.”Recently Biden's had this authoritarian moment as he abandoned that promise. Wearing a strange brown suit, in a poorly lit room, he looked more like the leader of a tinpot dictatorship than the President of the United States of America. You don't want to believe us just check out https://bananarepublicbiden.com/First things first: Let's talk about what Biden announced: Private companies must force their employees to get vaccinated or be subjected to a weekly Covid test. This rule applies to all businesses with 100 employees or more.Businesses that don't comply could face fines up to $14,000 per violation. It will affect the 80 million Americans working in the private sector. In addition, Biden will sign an executive order that mandates all Federal employees and contract workers get vaccinated with no weekly testing alternative or face "progressive disciplinary action"... whatever that means. Also, Healthcare facilities that accept Medicare/Medicaid will be required to force their staff to get the vaccine. The private employer mandate is illegal. Joe Biden is invoking power he does not have. The 10th Amendment says "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution... are reserved to the States." That's why several Republican-led states have announced they plan to sue the Biden administration to block the illegal decree.South Dakota's Gov. Kristi Noem tweeted: "See you in court"Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said: "Biden's vaccine mandate is an assault on private businesses... Texas is already working to halt this power grab."South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster tweeted: "Rest assured, we will fight them to the gates of hell."I'll leave you with this tweet from Jack Posobiec, senior editor of Human Events: "All it took was one bad week in the polls for Biden to declare war on millions of Americans. Wait till you see what happens next time"We ALL knew there would be a response to this, you would not really like to hear what the different sections of the internet citizens are saying, but overall Republicans exploded with fury over Biden vaccine mandate: 'Absolutely unconstitutional'Republican members of Congress and state governors were appalled by the news that President Joe Biden will force employers with more than 100 workers to require coronavirus vaccinations or test employees weekly, vowing to block the new policy and terming it unconstitutional. The mandate, which is expected to affect as many as 100 million Americans in an array of fields, including health care, directly impacts the private sector."This is absolutely unconstitutional," Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., wrote in a tweet, attaching a link to the news."Mandates are not the answer," Rep. Neal Dunn, R-Fla., said in response. "Getting the vaccine should be up to you and your doctor — not the federal government.""All 9 million federal employees should consult with their doctor and make a personal, informed decision about taking the vaccine," wrote Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo. "Instead, Sleepy Joe says to take it or else. … You don't lead by coercion. Biden has failed as a leader in every way.""This is unconstitutional," said Rep. Robert Aderholt, R-Ala. "The U.S. Constitution does not give the President this type of authority. Nowhere in Article 2 of the Constitution will you find anything that even remotely gives the President this kind of power."All of this had lead to the increasing amount of unpopularity of Biden the paper president and the collapse of any respect his stolen administration even had.Recently a New York Times headline asked: "How Has Joe Biden Become So Unpopular?" after his approval rating took a nosedive this summer....And this was before a new poll from the Economist shows that he hasn't hit his bottom yet. Let's set the table: The Economist and YouGov surveyed 1,500 Americans between September 4 - 7, 2021.Here are some of the big take-aways:▪️ Biden's overall job approval: 39% approve, 53% disapproveThis is major. Biden is officially polling in the 30s and he hasn't even been President for a year. Numbers like this have major implications on his ability to pass legislation [I'll explain later].▪️ Biden's approval from Democrats: 77% approve, 15% disapprove77% might seem high. But remember, this is among his base supporters. Even during tough times, Trump always had 90% Republican approval. This tells you that the left is regretting its Biden vote.▪️ Did Biden legitimately win the 2020 election: 39% say he did not, 61% say he did.Think about that. 2 out of 5 Americans think our President was not legitimately elected. And just wait until the Arizona audit results come out.▪️ Biden's approval on Covid: 42% approve, 46% disapproveIn the early months, this was the main category that kept Biden's overall polling numbers high. And now he's underwater.▪️ Economy on right track under Biden: 21% right track, 73% wrong track▪️ Approval of Biden's government spending: 34% approve, 50% disapproveThe last two figures are why Biden's massive $3.5 trillion-dollar "social infrastructure" bill is floundering. We talked about Joe Manchin saying he won't support the bill. The reason Manchin and other moderate Democrats are going to continue to walk away from Biden's policy agenda are because of poll numbers like this. When the President has zero political capital, he loses his influence over lawmakers in swing districts. And this is why we continue to hammer Biden on every issue. The more we hammer him, the lower his approval. The lower his approval, the harder it is for him to pass radical socialist policy.[Source: Economist/YouGov, The Federalist, Daily Caller, Fox News, Waking up Right]https://www.spreaker.com/user/9922149/biden-and-his-fascist-mandates#Boykin4CongressPeter R Boykin Peter Boykin For United States Congress https://BoykinForCongress.comhttps://t.me/BoykinForCongressSupport The Podcast and WebsiteTo Donate to the Podcast (NOT THE CAMPAIGN)https://paypal.me/magafirstnewsJoin Peter Boykin on Telegramhttps://t.me/RealPeterBoykin#GoRightNewshttps://GoRightNews.com
Earlier this week, Joe Biden announced that he was going to take new initiatives to get Americans to take the COVID vaccine. His solution, to launch a door to door campaign and force employers to give paid time off to get the vaccine. Yes, the President wants the American government to start a door to door sales business. It's a strategy that quickly came under scrutiny. The House Freedom Caucus quickly called the strategy door to door spying. South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster said that it was enticing, coercing, intimidating, pressuring and mandating a vaccine on the American people. But are Americans really buying what Joe Biden is selling? All that he has told Americans are lies. So far, he has been a horrible salesman. Each time he takes on these government pressure tactics, it is just another conditioning exercise. It's conditioning the American people to accept government force and oppression. But Americans are smarter than that. Or they should be. They should see right through this poor sales pitch. This does not stop at just a vaccine. He's tried to force economic packages on the American people, by saying that they need it. He claimed that he was not radical in the debates, but has done nothing but deliver radical policy and radical policy since becoming president. That certainly is not a way to build any credibility. Americans should be free to decide if they want to take the vaccine or refuse. The forcing of Americans and the removal of freedom is what we would expect out of communist countries, not the United States. Biden would brag about his accomplishments, but there's been few of those. It's a horrible track record for a salesman. But what would we expect from a man who has a horrible track record for decades in Washington. He's just in the middle of adding another title, horrible salesman, to all the other failures of his political career. Music courtesy of Greg Shields Music. http://www.reverbnation.com/GregShields
Just over 1 in 3 South Carolinians have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Almost 44 percent have received at least one shot. That’s good news, but health experts have been concerned about slowing demand for the vaccine. Earlier this year, it was difficult to get a vaccine appointment. Demand far outpaced supply. Now, that’s switched. South Carolina could be vaccinating many more people a day than it is right now. Citing the availability of COVID vaccines, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster issued an executive order this week that sought to cut down on government-mandated rules about wearing face masks, one of the primary strategies during the pandemic for mitigating the virus's spread. That order put the decision of whether students will continue to wear masks in schools in the hands of parents. It also dissolved mandates in local municipalities if those ordinances were based on prior executive orders or a state of emergency. This week, assistant Columbia bureau chief Seanna Adcox explained recent changes to mask rules in South Carolina, and health reporter Mary Katherine Wildeman shared some insight on the progress made with COVID vaccinations in the state so far — and where the process is lagging.
