A Prayer to Forgive Others As Christ Forgives Me

Forgiveness can feel impossible when someone has truly hurt you—especially when the offense was intentional, public, or deeply damaging. Today’s devotional doesn’t pretend forgiveness is easy. It acknowledges the very real emotions that rise up when we’ve been lied about, betrayed, or harmed, and it names what many of us experience: bitterness and grudges can quietly take root and begin to affect our walk with God. The devotional points us back to Jesus’ clear teaching in Matthew 6:14–15: forgiveness is not optional for the believer. God has freely forgiven us, not because we earned it, but because of Christ. That truth becomes the foundation for how we treat others. When we refuse to forgive, it doesn’t just strain relationships—it also creates distance in our fellowship with God, because unforgiveness keeps our hearts closed, guarded, and resistant to His work in us. We’re reminded that forgiving others is a pathway to freedom. It doesn’t erase the wrong or pretend the pain didn’t happen, but it releases bitterness and returns the weight of justice to God. Forgiveness is also an outward witness: when we forgive as Christ forgives, we display the grace we’ve received and reflect the love of Jesus to believers and unbelievers alike. Finally, the devotional emphasizes that forgiveness is sustained by closeness with God. Keeping communication open with Jesus—through prayer, repentance, and humility—helps us remember that we are finite, flawed people saved by grace. And because God continues to forgive us as we confess and grow, we can ask Him for the strength to forgive again and again. Main Takeaways Forgiveness can be deeply difficult, but Jesus calls believers to forgive as an act of obedience and love. Unforgiveness can foster bitterness and hinder your fellowship with God. God’s forgiveness is freely given through Christ; we extend forgiveness because we’ve received grace. Forgiveness releases the burden of resentment and allows you to walk in peace and freedom. Staying close to Jesus through prayer and repentance helps soften our hearts to forgive repeatedly. Today’s Bible Verse For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. - Matthew 6:14-15 Your Daily Prayer Here is a brief excerpt from today’s prayer: “Help me to forgive others as you forgive me… Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.” You can listen to the full prayer here or read devotional at the links below. What if the lives of the men and women in Scripture seem radical not because they were extraordinary, but because God was truly at the center of everything? In this episode of Tent Talk, Nancy challenges the assumption that biblical faith is reserved for spiritual elites and calls listeners to reconsider what it actually means to live unto Him rather than unto self. She explores the danger of crafting a God in our own image, the subtle seduction of “another Jesus,” and the costly grace that restores proper order between Creator and creature. This conversation presses us beyond admiration into transformation, inviting us to yield fully to the God who reveals Himself—not as we imagine Him, but as He is. Thanks for Listening! Paul's letter to the Romans contains some of the most meaningful and thought provoking words in Scripture. It is extremely challenging to read it and embrace all its' points in our minds.  Maybe, more than any other book in the Bible, this book calls for our diligent and meditative study.  But this is the challenge of the whole Bible, it is not at all like a school text book that you go through in a year's study and then leave on the shelf for occasional reference.  God's word is designed by him for our lifelong reading and reflection. Paul had been brought up under the Law of Moses with all its rules and regulations.  He had been zealous for the Law, but, as a result of his dramatic conversion on the road to Damascus, he had, with God's help through the Spirit, applied his mind to the new reality of eternal things – especially – to a personal relationship to his Saviour. The Law of Moses was a Law for Israel as a nation. This Law had been superseded by a situation in which each individual needed to develop a personal relationship with their Saviour the Lord Jesus and with his Father – and through him – is now ‘Our Father.'   Paul writes, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.  For the creation waits with eager longing …” [8 v.18,19]  This sense of eagerness is felt by all those who see the emptiness in so much of what people enjoy today:  But it is all “creation” that waits for the removal of the curse imposed in Eden.  We learn in Genesis how God said to Adam “cursed is the ground because of you” [Gen. 3 v.17]  Paul goes on to say we “groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons (& daughters), the redemption of our bodies” [v.23]   How true is the word eagerly – especially as we grow older and our minds and bodies feel the effects.   Those who find this life satisfying and enjoyable will not genuinely “wait eagerly” for that which is going to replace it. But for many in the world this life offers little that is enjoyable – so they are often in a far more spiritually acceptable frame of mind before God. Finally, let us all read carefully and prayerfully the last 8 verses (31-39) of Romans ch 8.

In this New Year episode, Fr. Harry and Fr. Anthony challenge the casual habit of saying “my church” by reframing ecclesial identity: the Church is of God—not our possession, but the place to which we belong, purchased by Christ's blood (Acts 20) and built as a household on the apostolic foundation with Christ as cornerstone (Eph. 2:18–20). They trace how the Church's catholic “wholeness” is Trinitarian—the Body of Christ, the temple of the Holy Spirit, and the people of the Father—made real through baptism, chrismation, and the Eucharist. Along the way, they clarify Christ's unique mediation (mesitēs), show why the Church can be called “of Christ” without diminishing the Trinity, and close with Theophany's vivid sacramental imagery—especially the ancient practice of breathing/blowing over the waters as participation, not mere remembrance.

We can learn a lot about the nature of God from his Divine Name revealed in Scripture. When God said to Moses, “I am who I am,” this was a revelation of a name as well as a refusal of a name. Fr. Mike explains how this mystery reveals truths about God: he is infinitely above all things; we cannot comprehend him, yet he draws close to us. This Divine Name expresses the steadfast, faithful, unchanging love of God for his people, even when we betray and abandon him. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 205-211. He was from the pagan Persian aristocracy, but came to faith in Christ and left his home for the Christian city of Edessa, where he was baptized. He later moved to Antioch, where he lived in prayer and asceticism a short distance from the city. He ate nothing but a small amount of bread until he was extremely old, when he added some greens to his diet. Though he knew very little Greek, he was empowered by the Holy Spirit to win many converts to Christ and to confound the learned Arian heretics who were disturbing the Church in Antioch.   When Aphrahat learned that the Arian Emperor Valens was persecuting Christ's Church, he moved to the city to support the true Faith. One day the Emperor himself met Aphrahat in the city square and asked him why he had left his solitude and come to Antioch. The Saint answered 'Tell me this: if I were a maiden at home in my secluded apartment and saw someone setting fire to my father's house, would you not advise me to put out the blaze as soon as possible? That is what I am doing now, because the Church, the heavenly Father's house, is burning down inthe fire that you have set!' One of the Emperor's attendants threatened Aphrahat with death for this impertinence; but the attendant himself later perished, drowned as he was heating water for the Emperor's bath. This made the Emperor afraid to persecute the holy one, who continued to preach the true Faith and to perform many miracles. He reposed in peace.

Coexistence and the belief that everyone's god is the same is one step closer to one world religion. When such theology is encouraged, people can be misled from the one true messiah. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me." The road to the Father is narrow, so don't let anyone fool you into thinking it's a wide-open path.

We often hear people speak of "simple life forms" or the "simple cell." Is there really such a thing as "simple life?" Although we often speak of the "simple cell," there really is no such thing as a simple form of life. Even the single-celled creature is a highly complex organism.Let's imagine building a model of the cell, using atoms, each the size of a tennis ball. The typical cell has about 10 million atoms. In our model, the cell would be over ten miles in diameter! Now let's look inside the cell and see whether it is simple or not. First of all, we would see lots of activity going on almost everywhere. This is because this single cell has to carry out all the same jobs that your body uses many different organs to accomplish.Inside the cell, we would see structures that digest food and others that carry off the waste from food. Other structures would be busy carrying off the waste produced by the cell itself. The cell must also contain everything it needs to reproduce. And remember, while we have many complex and different organs to do all this, the cell must to it all without those organs.Humans have never even come close to creating anything like this. Surely the cell is not simple! Science cannot explain the cell by any natural laws it knows. Scripture is correct when it tells us that the origin of the cell—and everything else—is the superior power and wisdom of God.Job 37:8"The animals enter dens, and remain in their lairs."Prayer: Dear heavenly Father; You are defamed when the world talked of even one living cell as "simple." If someone spoke so of my best friend, I would speak in his defense. So let me boldly speak in defense of Your truth, my only heavenly Father. In Jesus' Name. Special guest Maureen Carrott recalls the impression the book The Hiding Place had on her as a 13-year-old girl. Corrie Ten Boom, the author, was imprisoned in a concentration camp alongside her sister Betsie. Betsie suggested they give thanks to God for the fleas that nipped painfully at their skin. Other stories, like the biblical story of Joseph, also instilled within Maureen that gratitude should transcend circumstances. As this episode is airing, wife, mother, grandmother, friend to many around the world, and missionary Maureen went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2025. She began Crown of Beauty ministry with Sue Corl in 2005 in East Asia. They served together for seven years, and then several mission trips afterward. From the beginning, Maureen insisted that we offer one-on-one or small group prayer counseling at each conference. Most say that this is the highlight of each conference. Her honest, Christ-centered, vulnerable, joyful spirit and love for everyone we served brought healing to women wherever she went. Sue could not have pioneered this ministry without her. As Sue's best friend, their ministry to the Chinese, Thai Karen, Lebanese, English, and Ugandan women was truly one of the most rewarding and enjoyable experiences of their lives. Though Maureen left us earlier than any of us would have wanted, we know that her infectious laughter, deep worship and love of God, and deep connection with people is blessing those who have gone before us! Ephesians 5:20: "Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ". This episode is dedicated to the memory of Maureen Carrott. SUPPORT His Heartbeat through Crown of Beauty Internationalhttps://www.crownofbeautyinternational.com/donateCONNECT with His Heartbeat and Crown of Beauty InternationalWebsite// Facebook//InstagramEmail: crownofbeautyinternational@gmail.comConnect with Sue Corl's Instagram//Facebook// WebsitePurchase Sue's Transformational Bible Studies and Devotionals on Amazon!Sue Corl's best-selling books: Crown of Beauty Bible Study, Broken But UndefeatedCrown of Beauty International: EMPOWERING WOMEN AROUND THE WORLD WITH GOD'S TRUTH!

Hearing God's voice isn't reserved for the spiritual elite—it is the birthright of every son and daughter. In this final message of our Supernatural pillar series, Dan Weber breaks down the practical mechanics of hearing the Father, moving us from mystery to maturity. Using 1 Corinthians 14 and his own journey from "Roofer Dan" to revivalist, he demystifies the prophetic process. He explains that hearing the voice (Revelation) is just the beginning. The real stewardship happens in understanding what it means (Interpretation) and knowing when to act (Application). If you've ever wondered, "Was that God, me, or the pizza I ate?" this message will equip you with a simple filter to distinguish the Father's voice from the noise. It's time to move past the fear of getting it wrong and into the joy of conversation with the One who is always speaking. God is not just enough—He is more than enough, even in the moments that feel irredeemable. In this Revival Night message, we wrestle with grace that meets us at our lowest, a Father who still gives good gifts, and a faith that believes God can bring life where loss once defined the story. This is a powerful reminder that no past is too heavy and no situation is beyond what God can restore.

From “Muddy Ditch” in Chiayi County, Lu Ch'ing-an (1944–2011) rose to national fame as Taiwan's Father of Motorcycle Stunts. The story starts with an apprenticeship at a local scooter repair shop, where the mechanically gifted boy fell in love with motorbikes. Still a teenager, he was inspired by the ROC Air Force's Thunder Tigers aerobatics team to start flying on two wheels. Over the next few decades, he would amaze audiences and break records. His biggest triumph came in 1983, when he jumped over 14 large buses, surpassing the mark held by Evel Knievel. Lu also undertook some punishing endurance rides, including the first motorcycle circumnavigation of Taiwan in under 24 hours. Behind the accolades and headlines, however, was the heavy physical and personal toll of crashes.

The Bible is full of hidden gems and Exodus 13 is one of them. This passage gives us profound insights into the meaning of redemption and helps us understand what it means that we have been redeemed by Christ. Join us for this important study in Exodus 13! DISCUSSION AND STUDY QUESTIONS: 1.    Exodus 13 lays out for us the principle of particular redemption. While that's definitely a weighty idea, it is key to understanding who we are in Christ. So, let's think back to the final plague of Exodus 12, what "price" did the Egyptians have to pay for the redemption of Israel? Did any of the Jews have to pay this same price? Why not? 2.    According to verse 12, who belonged to the Lord? Why?  3.    The podcast explained that if God saves a person from destruction, they owe their lives to Him. In light of the final plague, what did these Jews owe to God? How does this principle relate to us who have been saved through Christ's death on our behalf?  4.    The podcast referred to Exodus 34:19-20 for the redemption price that parents were to pay the Lord for their children. What was this price and why did they have to pay it?  5.    The podcast also mentions Numbers 18:16 and Deuteronomy 15:19. What do these passages teach us about the principle of redemption? Why were some redeemed and some not? 6.    All of these redemption passages teach the principle that a redemption price must be paid. Amazingly, New Testament tells us that the Father has given His Son Jesus to pay our redemption price! If Jesus is our redemption payment, do we still have to make that payment too? Why or why not? Why is Jesus' payment sufficient for the rest of His spiritual family?  7.    In Exodus 13:8, why was the father to instruct his children of the Passover by saying "It is because of what the Lord did for *me* when *I* came out of Egypt?" Why should the father say *he* came out of Egypt when only that first generation did? How would this identify future generations with that first generation of the Exodus? How does this help us understand the New Testament teaching that we were in Christ when He made His payment for us? 8.    In verse 19, when Moses brings Joseph's bones back to the Promised Land, what principle can we learn about faith and trusting God?  9.    When God went before the people as a Pillar of Smoke & Fire, what did He presence signify? How was this different from the fact that God is everywhere at all times (i.e. omnipresence)? Could these people have been assured of God's presence if they went off and did whatever they wanted? In our life today, how do we need to walk to be assured of God's presence in our lives? Check out our Bible Study Guide on the Key Chapters of Genesis! Jesus Follower's Greatest Witness for the Gospel of Jesus, in a Hurting World, is for Others to See Jesus in Them MESSAGE SUMMARY: You need to live the Christian life in whatever you do – at home; in your job; in the way that you drive; and in the way that you treat your friends. We live in a hurting world, but God wants more for you. To achieve God's desire for your life, you must stay in fellowship and communion with God; and you must let Him work in your life. In Colossians 3:17, Paul challenges us: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”. If you live your life, in all places and situations, in the name of Jesus, you will live a better life in our hurting world. As Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31: “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.". Remember, the greatest witness for the Gospel, as a follower of Jesus, that you can give is for others to see Jesus in you.   TODAY'S PRAYER: Father, I confess that when difficulties and trials come into my life, large or small, I mostly grumble and complain. I realize the trials James talks about are not necessarily “walls,” but they are difficult to bear, nonetheless. Fill me with such a vision of a transformed life, O God, that I might actually consider it “pure joy” when you bring trials my way. I believe, Lord. Help my unbelief. In Jesus' name, amen.   Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 94). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, Because of who I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be driven by Past Failures. Rather, I will abide in the Lord's Grace. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). In Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus addresses the dangers of false Christianity. He confronts the people who say to him "Lord, Lord" but do not live in obedience to the Father. He makes clear that not everyone who says (and even sincerely believes) that they are a Christian will go to heaven. Rather, Jesus says that there will be "many" who thought themselves to be saved, who thought themselves to be right with God, but on the final day he will say to them, "Depart from me, you workers of lawlessness, I never knew you."For this reason, this passage is extremely important to help us understand what it really does and does not mean to be a Christian. It is crucial to help us understand if our profession of Jesus as Lord is a genuine profession.

Part 3 The doctrine of God as it relates to the nature of His being is no small matter.  The first three centuries of Church history were consumed with this central issue.  In the second and third centuries, men like Praxeas and Sabellius argued that God was singular not only in being but also in person.  Sabellius taught that, like an actor wearing different masks on stage, God likewise assumed different modes at different times to manifest Himself to man.  In the Old Testament, God assumed the role of a Father; in the incarnation, the role of a Son, and in regeneration, the role of the Holy Spirit.  Modalistic Monarchianism was soundly defeated in the early centuries of the Church; yet, over the last one hundred years, this ancient heresy has resurfaced amongst those identifying themselves as Oneness Pentecostals.   In this third teaching part, we begin to examine the Biblical evidence for the doctrine of the Trinity while at the same time looking at early Church history and those heresies which confounded the persons of the Godhead. After listening to your message on Sunday I realized I don't regularly think nor do I pray for the lost people. It's like I forget their are lost souls who might be going to hell all around me everyday. 1. Should this concern me? 2. What can I do to help remind me daily to care about the lost?Q. I do pray for the lost. In fact, I pray specifically for certain people by name who I know that are lost. But, they aren't open to hearing about Jesus. I feel like my prayers aren't working.Q. My friend proclaims to be a Christian. They know scripture well. But I don't feel like their life reflects the "Father's Will." They've accepted Jesus, been baptized, serves in the church, and even evangelizes. I am overthinking this verse? What do you recommend I do?Q. Our world is filled with pastors and influencers who proclaim Jesus. In verse 15 Jesus warns to "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves." He goes on to say I will be able to discern false prophets by their fruit. What are ways to do this well? I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 29th of January, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. John 15:26, and I am reading it to you from the Amplified Version: “But when the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of Truth who comes from the Father, He will testify and bear witness about Me.” Jesus is saying He is going to send us the Parakletos, and He has. That's a beautiful word. I love to say that word. It is the only Greek word I know, the Helper, and He will tell you the truth because He is the Spirit of Truth! We are talking about the Holy Spirit here today. It's so very important in these days to be able to identify the truth from the fake. There are so many fake things on the go at the moment. With this AI sweeping all over the world, you don't know who is who. How are we going to know what is genuine? There are even people who can impersonate me, they can impersonate my voice and that can be quite scary. How are we, as believers, going to be able to discern the truth from the fake?If we look at the word of God in John 17:17, He says,“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” That is how the believer will be able to identify the truth from the fake. When they made the movie, “Faith like Potatoes”, the lady who took the part of my wife Jill, a beautiful young lady, was on the set one day, and her sister had come to visit her. Now, they are identical twins. I can't tell them apart, both lovely young ladies. Just for a bit of fun, they decided to swop their clothes and Jeanne's sister came onto the set and they were going to start filming, but straight away the Director, a very wonderful man of God, Regardt van den Berg, spotted her straight away. He said, “You are not Jeanne.” None of us knew. Now, how did he manage to do that? I am telling you why. He knew because he knew Jeanne so well. He was spending time with her every day, shooting the movie. When you spend time in the Word of God, you will identify the truth from the fake.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

John 13It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.2 The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. 3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

Non potest civitas abscondi supra montem posita, 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but upon a candlestick, that it may shine to all that are in the house.neque accedunt lucernam, et ponunt eam sub modio, sed super candelabrum, ut luceat omnibus qui in domo sunt. 16 So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.Sic luceat lux vestra coram hominibus : ut videant opera vestra bona, et glorificent Patrem vestrum, qui in caelis est. 17 Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.Nolite putare quoniam veni solvere legem, aut prophetas : non veni solvere, sed adimplere. 18 For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled.Amen quippe dico vobis, donec transeat caelum et terra, jota unum aut unus apex non praeteribit a lege, donec omnia fiant. 19 He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.Qui ergo solverit unum de mandatis istis minimis, et docuerit sic homines, minimus vocabitur in regno caelorum : qui autem fecerit et docuerit, hic magnus vocabitur in regno caelorum.St Francis, Count of Sales, Bishop of Geneva, patron of Catholic writers, preached the word of God to the Calvinists and brought back sixty thousand to the Catholic faith. He founded with St Jane Fremiot de Chantal the Order of the Visitiation. He died A.D. 1622.

In this episode, we discuss the nature of God, “who” God is, beginning with God the Father. Our reading explains how the Creed begins with God the Father because he is the first Divine Person of the most Holy Trinity. God is one Divine Being made up of three persons, and his identity is a deep mystery. Fr. Mike explains that God is a single ‘what' made up of three ‘who's.' Despite this mystery, God is not an anonymous force. He has revealed himself to us by making his name known to us, and he has thus made himself accessible. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 198-204. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. What does it really take to get healthier with age? In this deeply personal solo episode, mindbodygreen co-founder and co-CEO Jason Wachob shares his N-of-1 longevity experiment—and all the data behind it. At 51 years old, Jason's biological age clocks in at 37.9, with elite cardiovascular and recovery metrics to match: a VO₂ max of 52, resting heart rate as low as 35, and record-high HRV. This isn't about extreme biohacking or million-dollar longevity protocols. Jason breaks down the exact lifestyle choices, training approach, and precision nutrition strategies that helped him reverse key aging markers—while balancing life as a CEO, husband, and father of two. He also opens up about the emotional weight of outliving multiple generations of men in his family—and why, for him, longevity is ultimately about presence, strength, and showing up fully for the people he loves. Whether you're curious about VO₂ max training, heart rate variability, diet personalization, or how to build sustainable habits without burning out, this episode offers a rare, data-backed look at what's possible with consistency and intention.
