This episode I am reading from Admir Serrano's book 'Nights on the Other Side: How I Discovered My Immortality' Nights on the Other Side” is a book that invites us to look at life from a different perspective: more lucid, more open, and less fearful. Admir describes out-of-body experiences with clarity, combining his personal testimony with scientific references. But above all, he conveys the sense that we are not alone and that we are something more than we believe. Bio I am a Brazilian-American researcher, writer and lecturer on paranormal phenomena such as out-of-body experiences (OBEs), near-death experiences (NDEs), deathbed visions (DBVs), after- death communication (ADC), reincarnation, mediumship and the afterlife. And an unabashed believer in our survival of physical death and the immortality of the spirit. My interest in these subjects was triggered after I began having spontaneous OBEs, back in the year 2000, and I wanted to understand the phenomenon. Since then, I have had hundreds of lucid and amazing experiences which have proven to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that we are immortal beings. Aware of the sadness that death of a loved one can cause – and I have experienced it myself – I have made it my life's mission to spread the notion that there is no death, that only the body dies, and since we are not our body, we survive death – unscathed. For my own edification regarding the dynamics of physical death, I have worked as a hospice volunteer providing spiritual support to terminally ill patients as they waited for their time to cross over to the other side of life. And this is what death is, a change of worlds, the end of one mode of living, the physical, to the beginning of a spiritual existence. I have bachelor's degrees in psychology and liberal studies, and a master's in theology. I am an avid reader with a broad interest in world and religious history, anthropology, geography, world affairs, and the humanities. I have written five books in my native Portuguese language on death, dying and the afterlife, and two in English on related topics. I write and lecture in both languages, as well as Spanish, the third language I speak. Reflection on Non-Judgment: The conversation shifted to a check-in on the previous week's practice of not judging, which was generally positive, prompting Soo Kim to ask for clarification on the difference between judgment and discernment. Jevon Perra initially requested a pause for the conversation to organize, noting Denise Darlene's quick start, but the discussion soon moved forward, focusing on these key spiritual concepts.Distinction Between Judgment and Discernment: Denise Darlene proposed that discernment and wisdom are the same, suggesting that judgment stems from fear and lacks peace, often involving labels and coming from the ego. Wisdom and discernment, conversely, come from love and result in peace. Jevon Perra cautioned that a form of discernment could still be rooted in fear, using the concept to create separation or a feeling of superiority.Peace as an Indicator for Wisdom: Denise Darlene maintained that if guidance is coming from a place of peace, it is wisdom guided by the Holy Spirit, which is a core concept in the Course in Miracles. Jevon Perra agreed that the presence of peace, love, and joy serves as an indicator of alignment, while experiences outside of peace, such as anger or frustration, signal alignment with the ego. Jevon Perra shared a personal anecdote of growing up in a religious family that misused "discernment" to enforce fear, highlighting that the resulting lack of peace was a clear sign they needed to leave the environment, demonstrating true discernment.Discussion on the Show Quantum Leap: Jevon Perra used the plot of the television show Quantum Leap as a metaphor for consciousness and purpose, where the character Sam Beckett leaps into different bodies to accomplish missions they do not remember. Brian Genovese, who loves the show, clarified that the mission is to set right what once went wrong, and once accomplished, the character leaps to the next adventure. Jevon Perra connected the show's themes to the idea that we are consciousness having an experience, which Brian Genovese agreed is a much deeper concept than people realize.Peace as a Guide and Awareness of Attachment: Denise Darlene restated the initial card's message that truth will correct all errors and that peace is the guide indicating alignment with the Holy Spirit. Jevon Perra noted that they can quickly tell when they are not in peace, which is always due to some attachment or idea of separation they are unwilling to let go of. They affirmed that the work involves bringing in and finding the truth to create the experience of peace.Clarification of "Truth": Soo Kim challenged the phrase "self-truth," suggesting that the focus should be on capital "T" Truth, representing non-duality, oneness, and unity, which is the voice of the Holy Spirit. Denise Darlene agreed that this pursuit of Truth often feels like death or betrayal, but confirms that this feeling is an indication they are on the right track.Reading from Manual for Teachers on Gentleness: The group decided to continue reading the "Manual for Teachers" from the Course in Miracles, focusing on the section "Gentleness". Soo Kim read that harm is impossible for God's teachers because it is the outcome of judgment and the denial of learning, making the Holy Spirit's lessons impossible to learn. Jevon Perra related the concept to a play, suggesting that consciousness is neither the hero nor the villain, and that believing in harming or saving is an attachment. The Strength of Gentleness: Soo Kim continued the reading, emphasizing that God's teachers are wholly gentle because gentleness is the strength needed for salvation to become easy. Jevon Perra described gentleness through the analogy of kindly waking a child from a nightmare, where the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit calls them out of the illusion. Jevon Perra offered a personal example of practicing gentleness in a relationship through non-resistance, which involved maintaining a state of "No, honey, it's okay" to diffuse conflict.Gentleness, Non-Resistance, and the Pain Body: Brian Genovese affirmed that Jevon Perra's non-resistance was successful because it denied the other person's ego the energy it sought to feed its "pain body," a concept also discussed by Eckhart Tolle. Denise Darlene added that kindness, not judgment or punishment, is what leads to repentance, echoing Christian scripture and the power of non-resistance in situations of conflict. Denise Darlene recounted an experience with their critical mother, noting that quiet non-engagement eventually exhausts the criticism, making them a less favorable person to complain to.The Choice Between Separation and Christ's Vision: Jevon Perra summarized the two ways of seeing the world: the world of separation, sin, and guilt (ego's perception), and Christ's vision (heaven on earth), which sees abundance, connection, and love. Jevon Perra stated that one cannot hold both visions simultaneously and that giving up the "games" of separation is necessary to see the wholeness that is already present. Denise Darlene emphasized that the difficult work of letting go of these egoic games is the difference between awakening and staying asleep, which involves the critical step of disciplining the mind to replace lies with truth. The Journey of Awakening and the "Happier Dream": Jevon Perra questioned the duration required for awareness, referencing a quote from I Am That that enlightenment could be instant upon belief. Denise Darlene shared their current status as having achieved a "happier dream" but not yet fully embodying the truth, acknowledging that they are closer than ever. Denise Darlene cautioned against the "holy instant system" without prior ego dismantling, noting that their son's experience of God's presence resulted in a painful psychosis upon returning to the body, necessitating a subsequent learning path.Experiences as Lessons and the Use of Medicine Journeys: The group discussed the idea that experiences labeled as "bad" are often lessons chosen by a greater part of the self. Jevon Perra expanded this to include anything that is resisted, including medicine journeys if used as escapism. Denise Darlene noted that their experience with medicine journeys has been for self-discovery—revealing subconscious beliefs and traumas—not for escape, and that post-journey work is still required for change. Soo Kim acknowledged that while medicine is intended for this deep work, some people use it to reinforce delusions or escape pain.Reincarnation and the Goal of the Course in Miracles: Denise Darlene inquired if the Course in Miracles discusses reincarnation, to which Jevon Perra replied that its premise is to "save time," implying the avoidance of doing the cycle of life again and again. The discussion touched upon the concept of the individual spirit returning to God like a wave merging back into the ocean, challenging the notion of maintaining individuality after death. Soo Kim noted that the concept of reincarnation is sometimes twisted in cultures like India to justify judgment or social hierarchy, calling others "stupid" due to perceived past lives. The Afterlife and Frequency of Vibration: The conversation turned to the nature of individuality after death and the "great reset button" that death provides. Jevon Perra recommended the near-death experience book Backwards by Nancy Danison, explaining that the afterlife location is determined by one's current vibrational frequency and that the choice to hold onto a low frequency can result in hellish experiences. Jevon Perra explained that one's body is a filter that lowers frequency, and after death, the frequency raises, allowing for experiences of what is called heaven, though perception can still be filtered by egoic beliefs. Conclusion on Gentleness and Non-Judgment: Denise Darlene reiterated a key takeaway from the reading: "harm is the outcome of judgment," meaning that taking offense stems from a judgment of the situation, not the neutral facts of what happened. The solution involves replacing judgment with compassion, seeing others' challenging behavior as the limited maturity of a wounded child. Jevon Perra shared a practical application of this, noting that viewing their mother as an "insane" or "crazy lady" they could help, rather than as an entitled person taking advantage of them, made the interaction bearable.Reflecting on Kindness and Empathy: Jevon Perra shared a story from their childhood about an accidental encounter at Disneyland where an adult's anger instantly turned to empathy and service upon seeing them in a wheelchair, illustrating how perception immediately shifts based on the recognized state of the other. The group affirmed the power of recognizing that others are often in a "mental wheelchair".Final Thoughts and Self-Inquiry: Denise Darlene concluded with the initial affirmation that when not experiencing peace, they are experiencing the effects of a lie, encouraging self-inquiry to discover the underlying lie or judgment. Soo Kim asked if their previous challenge to Brian Genovese about "self-truth" was a violation of gentleness, but Brian Genovese clarified that it was helpful for clarification and not perceived as judgmental. Jevon Perra ended the session by stating that they are always revealing their judgments or their love and acceptance.

There's a moment in every mother's life where the thing she has always named as her greatest fear… actually happens. This conversation lives in that moment, and in everything that comes after. In this episode, I sit with Megsy Ann, a mother who lost her one-year-old son, Rambo, suddenly – and chose not to collapse, numb out or disappear, but to walk herself through the darkest initiation a human can face and somehow become more loving, more powerful, and more present to life. This isn't a “bounce back” story. It's an honest and tender exploration of what grief really does to a woman's body, her faith, her family and her relationship with pleasure and power… when the worst thing you can imagine actually happens and the sun still rises the next day.We talk about:The night Rambo passed and the moment she found herself doing CPR on her own child.Creating her own rituals for his afterlife care, bringing his body home and letting her daughter say goodbye.Parenting one child on earth and one in another realm, and how grief reshaped her family.Staying connected to sensuality, intimacy and life-force in the middle of loss. What she would say to any mother who doesn't believe she can survive this.Key Timestamps00:00 – The moment every parent fears07:30 – “I realised I hadn't moved in three weeks”11:40 – The day Rambo died19:20 – Afterlife care and bringing his body home27:40 – Supporting Sunny through losing her brother34:40 – Refusing the taboo around death57:00 – Sex, pleasure and intimacy in the landscape of grief1:02:00 – A message for mothers who don't think they can survive thisConnect with Me:Want to work with me? This is an edited podcast from 2024 where we spoke to the recently departed film producer Fred Roos. A close friend to Luana Anders, our moderator on the flipside, Jennifer had no idea who we were interviewing until midway through the podcast.  Fred had messages for many of his close friends, and in one instance I was able to pass that message along at his funeral. In this podcast, he has a message for Sophia and Francis Coppola, his long time pals, as well as Harrison Ford who's career he started. At his funeral Harrison said "Without Fred I wouldn't be here." Also a number of other people show up, including his pal Harry Dean Stanton (a skeptic and atheists whom Jennifer and I interviewed when he crossed over.) There are appearances by many people Fred knew, including Penny Marshall, Cindy Williams, also Aretha Franklin and Christopher Reeves. We do this podcast to show that anyone can speak to their loved ones offstage. It just so happens that I knew Fred Roos for four decades, and met him in his office at Zoetrope back in the day. We stayed pals over the years, he was always kind and generous with me - and he was a huge pal to Robert Towne and Luana Anders as well as Jack Nicholson. None of these names in this podcast are "name dropping" when we're talking to the source. These were all friends of his, and I have met most of them - including the one he references - the reincarnation of James Dean. Fred worked with this person, and while we don't mention the name - because the person whom Jennifer and I both interviewed for hours - knows that they are the reincarnation of James Dean, have known that their whole lives - but chooses not to share it with people. Like I say, this is another of the Best Of podcasts that we've done. (Jennifer is currently swamped with clients and folks who need her help.) Enjoy.

This week I'm talking to Nancy Rynes about her Near Death Experience.Nancy Rynes was riding her bicycle when a large SUV approached. The vehicle's driver, absorbed in texting while driving, plowed right into Rynes.Suffering from severe spinal and head injuries, Rynes knew she was dying. At that moment, she underwent the first of two life-changing near-death experiences—her consciousness split between her frightened, injured self laying on the road, and an impartial, peaceful observer-consciousness who watched as first responders fought to keep her alive. Her second, more lengthy near-death experience came days later, during the surgery that attempted to repair her traumatized spine.Rynes, a scientist and confirmed skeptic, was shown the wonders of Heaven, experiencing joy, love, and beauty on such a grand scale that she wept at its magnitude. She then met and spoke with a Being who gave her insights into life, love, and the wonders of Spirit. After her tour of Heaven, she was returned to her body to begin the long, slow process of recovering from injuries her surgeon affirms should have killed her.In her book 'Awakenings from the Light', Rynes recounts the amazing sights of Heaven, and explains the remarkable insights into life she returned with to share with others. She was gifted with a second chance—a precious opportunity to bring a little bit of Heaven into her life on Earth. The wisdom she passes on could well change your life as well.BioMy friends call me "the atheist who went to Heaven."I would never have thought I would be writing a book about spirituality and near-death experiences since I spent my adult life as a scientist and skeptic. Born Roman Catholic, I became an atheist, and later an agnostic, beginning in my late teens when I went off to university to study geology and archaeology. While I started out my education as an artist (at Chicago's American Academy of Art), I went on to earn a degree in geology from Northern Illinois University, then attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, for Masters-level coursework. The sciences taught me to base my views on things I could measure, and since spiritual matters were not measurable, for me they did not exist.During most of my adult life, a part of me hoped there was something more than just physical reality, but I never saw evidence for it. The skepticism remained until January of 2014, when the Divine gave me a wake-up call: an opportunity to return to Spirit! Since my near-death experience, I have returned to a more spiritual and creative life based on the wisdom I learned in Heaven. In the past, I have been an archeological artist, geologist, data analyst, and science/technical writer. But then Heaven threw me a curveball, one I desperately needed. Now I am writing and teaching about my experience of the Divine, what happens when we die, and how we can bring a little bit of "Heaven" to our lives on Earth.https://www.amazon.com/Awakenings-Light-Lessons-Death-Experience-ebook/dp/B010MBT4QC https://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://www.patreon.com/ourparanormalafterlifeMy book 'Verified Near Death Experiences' https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXKRGDFP Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. This episode I am reading from Lynne McGinnis's book 'Overcoming Adversity by Embracing the Higher Truths: One Woman's Journey to Spiritual Awakening'.Lynne McGinnis grew up feeling defective—bombarded by parental atheism, messages that there was "something wrong" with her, relentless bullying, and a deep-seated panic over death. She sought refuge in compulsive achievements, excelling as a top-ranked law student and later as an attorney. Yet, her prestigious career only masked her chronic anxiety, struggles with body image, and ingrained belief that she was worthless. In the early 1990's, at one particularly low point, spiritual nudges led Lynne to participate in a 12-Step recovery program and study the liberating doctrines of the New Thought movement. This path led her to confront the ultimate fear—death—by discovering the transformative truths of Near Death Experiences and reincarnation, compelling her to seek out the world's foremost authority, Dr. Michael Newton, Ph.D., for a Life Between Lives spiritual regression session. But Lynne learned the hard way that true spiritual awakening requires changing negative thought patterns and embracing not only unconditional love of others but also, unconditional love of oneself. Thus, she continued her relentless attempt to gain self-esteem by overachieving and seeking the approval of others. This ultimately drove her to a mental and emotional collapse - a true dark night of the soul. Only then was she ready to let go of the false messages she had been giving herself for so many years and embrace the Higher Truths.Follow Lynne into the spiritual realm during her life-changing Life Between Lives (LBL) sessions with Dr. Michael Newton (author of Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls) and one of his successors, Scott. Here, her Spirit Guide and Council unlock profound memories and universal insights:   Her Pre-Birth Planning: Confirmation of her soul purpose as a Teacher of Souls and her choice of a challenging family life to master the lesson of unconditional self-love.   Soul Connections: The identity of her own Soul Group.   The Universal View: A deep discourse on the "Watchers of the Planets," revealing why they intervened during the Cuban Missile Crisis and their current dilemma regarding the Earth's environmental crisis.   The Path Forward: The ultimate realization that her fear, rage, and competitive drive were merely distractions from her true lesson: unconditional self-love—a love already bestowed by her Creator.Overcoming Adversity by Embracing the Higher Truths is more than a memoir; it is a roadmap to self-acceptance and a powerful confirmation of the soul's enduring journey. Lynne shares how embracing the timeless truth—"We are Eternal Souls human experiences who our Creator loves unconditionally"—finally dissolved decades of fear, rage, and self-sabotage, leading her to hope, purpose, and Divine alignment.Read this book if you are ready to:   Heal from decades of negative self-talk and feeling "not good enough."   Understand the soul-level purpose behind your deepest struggles.   Find comfort in the existence of an unconditionally loving Higher Power.   Embrace your true, Eternal Self and step into your highest purpose.BioLynne. Can a New York City firefighter really develop psychic abilities? In this episode of the Growth Now Movement, I sit down with Andrew, a third generation NYC firefighter turned psychic medium, to talk about spiritual awakening, mediumship, life after death, UFO encounters, and the courage it takes to live your truth. Andrew joined the FDNY in 2006, following in his family's footsteps. But behind the uniform, something unexpected was happening. After making a childhood agreement with his grandmother to send signs from the afterlife, Andrew began experiencing unexplainable spiritual encounters. Years later, a surprise psychic reading confirmed what he had been feeling all along. He had intuitive and mediumship abilities. This conversation dives into psychic development, communicating with spirits, near death awareness, reincarnation, extraterrestrials, collective consciousness, and what it means to live between two very different worlds. By day, Andrew was responding to emergencies as a firefighter. By night, he was taking psychic development classes, learning how to give intuitive readings, and understanding how to communicate with the afterlife. He shares how he navigated skepticism, fear of judgment, and the pressure of maintaining credibility in a profession built on logic and bravery. We also discuss: • How psychic readings and mediumship sessions actually work • Signs from loved ones who have passed away • The emotional healing that comes from afterlife communication • UFO sightings and extraterrestrial experiences • Reincarnation and evidence from client sessions • The power of intuition and developing your sixth sense • Collective energy and the future of humanity • Why environment and relocation can impact spiritual growth Whether you believe in psychic abilities or approach this from curiosity, this episode explores spirituality, consciousness, grief healing, and personal transformation in a way that will challenge your perspective. Andrew's story is about more than being a psychic medium. It is about owning your gifts, trusting your intuition, and stepping into a calling that does not make sense on paper but feels undeniable in your soul. If you have ever wondered about life after death, spiritual awakening, intuitive development, or the unseen world around us, this conversation is one you will not want to miss. Diane Keaton's first feature as a director wasn't a romantic comedy — it was an existential documentary about the afterlife. On this episode of She's All Over the Place, host Katie Chonacas sits down with producer Arnie Holland to discuss the 2026 HD remaster and re-release of Heaven, Diane Keaton's unconventional documentary exploring what people truly believe happens after death. Originally released to critical curiosity and now restored for modern audiences, Heaven blends interviews, film clips, and music to examine religion, Hollywood mythology, and humanity's fascination with paradise. The film features everyday people, spiritual thinkers, and public figures answering questions like: What does God look like? Is there a reward? Is there consciousness after death? The documentary includes a score by Academy Award-winning composer Howard Shore and a soundtrack featuring Lionel Richie, Sam Cooke, The Dream Academy, and more. Producer Arnie Holland explains how the film was made, why Keaton pursued the subject, and why the movie feels especially relevant in today's culture. We also discuss the restoration process, theatrical re-release, and the new limited-edition Blu-ray and digital release. Topics covered: • Diane Keaton as a first-time director • Hollywood and spirituality • Documentary filmmaking • Afterlife beliefs across cultures • Restoring classic films in HD • The business of film distribution • Music licensing and soundtrack selection Heaven releases February 17, 2026 on Blu-ray, VOD, and digital platforms.

Father Nathan Castle Talks About Helping Stuck Souls Cross Over Our guest today is a longtime Seek Reality friend. He is the wonderful Father Nathan Castle, who is a leader in the field of doing afterlife rescue work, and he is with us for the 12th time. We have known Father Nathan here for perhaps seven years, ever since his first book came out, and Roberta could not believe at first that his spirit rescue work was something that the Catholic Church would even allow! But not only do they allow it, they seem to actively support it. So, very good for them indeed! Father Nathan Castle is a Dominican priest who lives and works in a community of Dominican men and women serving the University of Arizona in Tucson. He is a lovely, gentle, and very spiritual man, and something like thirty years ago, he was recruited by elevated beings not in bodies to do spirit rescue work with them. As it turns out, almost twenty-five percent of people will go off-track for a time when they die, and they often do that by their own choice. And our wonderful friend Father Nathan is one of those who is trusted to help to rescue some of those people, once they feel ready to complete their afterlife journeys. Father Nathan's terrific first book, which was called Afterlife, Interrupted – Helping Stuck Souls Cross Over, came out in 2019, and Roberta tells us that everything in it was completely consistent with what she had learned during all her decades of doing afterlife research. Then that book was followed by books two and three, with similar titles. Father Nathan's books are all terrific, and he has become a regular with us here. Father Nathan's website is  Father Nathan Castle, O.P. In this episode of Biographers in Conversation, Francesca Wade chats with Dr Gabriella Kelly-Davies about Gertrude Stein: An Afterlife. Here's what you'll discover in this episode: Gertrude Stein: An Afterlife was sparked by Francesca's access to previously unpublished Leon Katz interview transcripts with Alice B. Toklas, revealing how Gertrude Stein deliberately constructed her public persona and how Toklas spent 20 years stewarding Stein's posthumous legacy as instructed by Stein's will. Francesca challenges the conventional biographical form by structuring the narrative in two parts: first telling Stein's life story as she presented it, then interrogating and deepening that account through posthumous archival discoveries, dramatising how biographical knowledge is constructed rather than simply discovered. Francesca deliberately exposes the archival ‘workings' behind biography, showing how Yale archivist Donald Gallup's negotiations with Toklas over burning love letters and sealing documents shaped what future generations could know about Stein's life and her relationships. The central enigma Francesca explores is Stein's binary reputation: celebrated as either a radical modernist writer or merely a personality symbolising 1920s Paris bohemia. This tension frustrated Stein in her lifetime and continues to complicate her literary legacy. Francesca concludes that biography is fundamentally an artificial and odd enterprise of converting life's messiness into linear narrative, with every sentence representing a decision shaped by the biographer's attitudes and biases. This makes biographical practice itself worthy of interrogation and experimentation

Have you been feeling an unexplained anxiety, a low-grade tension, or a sadness with no clear source? Do you feel perpetually “on alert,” emotionally raw, or disconnected from joy even when your personal life seems stable? You are not broken, and you are not alone. In this episode of Infinite Life, Infinite Wisdom, Susan Grau addresses the palpable yet often nameless weight so many are carrying. This isn't about politics or prediction. It's a compassionate exploration of what it means to be a sensitive, perceptive human when the collective consciousness itself feels dysregulated.Susan explains how widespread grief, fear, and unresolved trauma create an atmosphere of “ambient suffering” that our nervous systems, especially those of empaths, healers, and caregivers, cannot help but absorb. This leads to symptoms like chronic anxiety, irritability, emotional numbness, brain fog, and exhausting mental loops as our systems search for closure and safety that the external world cannot provide.Moving beyond spiritual bypassing, Susan offers a practical and somatic path back to yourself. She reframes anxiety not as a thought problem, but as a nervous system signal. She redefines confusion not as incompetence, but as the necessary “space between stories” when old maps no longer fit. The core of healing, she reveals, lies in one vital shift, moving from the question “Is this story true?” to “Is this story regulating my nervous system?”This episode is a gentle, firm guide to empowerment through inner authority. It's about learning to discern what energy is yours to carry and what belongs to the collective, and how to release the latter without guilt. Susan provides actionable anchors, like pausing your internal narrative, regulating your body, and shrinking your timeframe to the present moment, to help you reclaim your grounding, your peace, and your power. In This Episode:[00:00] Introduction [01:24] Collective emotional overwhelm[02:38] Dysregulation and self-regulation[03:38] Ambient suffering and emotional reactivity[06:12] Nervous system and collective stress[07:27] Symptoms of overload and disconnection[08:24] Anxiety: body vs. mind[10:30] Confusion as a developmental stage[12:40] The stories we tell ourselves[14:50] Survival stories and letting go[16:58] Regulating the nervous system[19:01] Empowerment without bypassing[20:17] Personal vs. collective anxiety[22:36] Grounding and sensation of safety[24:06] Returning to self: practical solutions[25:42] The limits of control and self-relationship[28:55] ConclusionNotable Quotes[01:19] "Nothing's wrong with you. And I don't mean that in a motivational way. I mean it in a psychological way. In an emotional way."[02:59] "We don't need to bury our heads in the sand... But how do we self-regulate so that we can handle what's going on?"[08:19] "Our nervous system needs closure, and when it doesn't have it, it plays a loop in our brains."[11:21] "Confusion is the space between the stories."[11:38] "The old map no longer fits, but the new map hasn't been drawn yet."[16:27] "A thought can feel absolutely true and still not be truth."[21:38] "You are not meant to metabolize the entire world. You are allowed to release what does not belong to you."[22:43] "Safety is not an idea. It's a sensation."[19:01] "Empowerment doesn't have to be loud.."[29:02] "The only control you have is over you. And that is the scariest comment, isn't it?"[30:08] "Don't run from fear. Shake hands with it, face it and look it in the eye."Susan GrauSusan Grau is an internationally celebrated intuitive life coach, a key opinion leader, author, medium and speaker, who discovered her ability to communicate with the spirit world after a near-death experience at age four. Trained by Dr. Raymond Moody, James Van Praagh, and Lisa Williams, Susan is a Reiki Master, hypnotherapist, and grief therapist. In this episode I'm talking to Dr. Nicolas Rouleau, Ph.D. about his Essay An Immortal Stream of Consciousness: The scientific evidence for the survival of consciousness after permanent bodily death. This Essay was a Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies Essay Competition WinnerIs experience possible after death? "An immortal stream of consciousness: The scientific evidence for the survival of consciousness after permanent bodily death" was the title of Nicolas Rouleau's award-winning 2021 submission for the Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies' international essay competition. Adapted here as a short book, the essay describes a transmissive theory of consciousness inspired by William James and supported by experimental evidence in the field of bioelectromagnetism including the works of the author (Rouleau) and his former doctoral mentor, Michael A. Persinger. It is one of few scientific theories that reconciles physicalism with survival of consciousness after bodily death.BioDr. Nicolas Rouleau is a neuroscientist, bioengineer, and Assistant Professor of Health Sciences at Wilfrid Laurier University. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Tufts University and Affiliate Scientist at the Allen Discovery Center at Tufts. Dr. Rouleau was the last PhD student of Michael Persinger of Laurentian University, whose work on the electromagnetic bases of consciousness inspired Rouleau to pursue his dissertation on the material-like properties of brain tissues, including their capacity to filter electromagnetic fields. In 2017, he joined the Allen Discovery Center at Tufts University as a Postdoctoral Researcher and was a founding member of David Kaplan's Initiative for Neural Science, Disease, & Engineering at Tufts, focusing on minimal cognitive responses in bioengineered brain models. As a post-doc, Dr. Rouleau published several 3D tissue models of Alzheimer's Disease and traumatic brain injury. During the research freeze of the COVID pandemic, he wrote an award-winning essay on the topic of transmissive consciousness for the Bigelow Institute of Consciousness Studies, which garnered international attention. In 2023, Dr. Rouleau became a faculty member at Laurier and is now a PI of the Self-Organizing Units Lab (SOUL), which is supported by Tri-Council awards to investigate the mechanisms of embodied cognition and synthetic biological intelligences in customizable, bioengineered neural tissues. He also co-directs (with his colleague, Dr. Murugan) the Center for Tissue Plasticity and Biophysics (TPAB) at Laurier. He is most interested in the fundamental and scale-invariant properties of cognitive systems as well as the pursuit of unifying principles that reconcile organic neural function with analogous phenomena in cells, machines, and non-neural organisms.  https://www.bigelowinstitute.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/rouleau-immortal-consciousness.pdf https://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://www.patreon.com/ourparanormalafterlifeMy book 'Verified Near Death Experiences' https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXKRGDFP Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In this episode I am talking about an inportant element of the Near Death Experience, the life review. Why do stories of near-death experiences (NDEs) continue to captivate scientists, philosophers, clinicians, and spiritual seekers alike? And why does one element of these experiences, the life review, seem to linger so powerfully in the public imagination? The reported “life review,” is where people describe a panoramic encounter with their own lives. Across decades of research, these accounts have raised profound questions about memory, identity, empathy, and the nature of consciousness itself. This episode is for anyone fascinated by big questions: What shapes our sense of self? How do our actions ripple through the lives of others? And how might experiences at the edge of life reshape the way we understand death, ethics, and human connection?Whether you're drawn to the science of altered states, the philosophy of consciousness, or the personal stories that emerge from NDE research, this conversation invites you to reflect on why the life review continues to resonate so deeply in contemporary culture. If you're interested in near-death experiences, consciousness research, end-of-life psychology, or the deeper meaning of human relationships, this episode offers a thoughtful space to explore why the life review has become one of the most discussed—and most debated—aspects of NDEs today. https://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://www.patreon.com/ourparanormalafterlifeMy book 'Verified Near Death Experiences' https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXKRGDFP Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Thanks to everyone who sent in condolences on my recent death from prostate cancer at age 68, but that was Scott Adams. I (Scott Alexander) am still alive1. Still, the condolences are appreciated. Scott Adams was a surprisingly big part of my life. I may be the only person to have read every Dilbert book before graduating elementary school. For some reason, 10-year-old-Scott found Adams' stories of time-wasting meetings and pointy-haired bosses hilarious. No doubt some of the attraction came from a more-than-passing resemblance between Dilbert's nameless corporation and the California public school system. We're all inmates in prisons with different names. But it would be insufficiently ambitious to stop there. Adams' comics were about the nerd experience. About being cleverer than everyone else, not just in the sense of being high IQ, but in the sense of being the only sane man in a crazy world where everyone else spends their days listening to overpaid consultants drone on about mission statements instead of doing anything useful. There's an arc in Dilbert where the boss disappears for a few weeks and the engineers get to manage their own time. Productivity shoots up. Morale soars. They invent warp drives and time machines. Then the boss returns, and they're back to being chronically behind schedule and over budget. This is the nerd outlook in a nutshell: if I ran the circus, there'd be some changes around here. Yet the other half of the nerd experience is: for some reason this never works. Dilbert and his brilliant co-workers are stuck watching from their cubicles while their idiot boss racks in bonuses and accolades. If humor, like religion, is an opiate of the masses, then Adams is masterfully unsubtle about what type of wound his art is trying to numb. This is the basic engine of Dilbert: everyone is rewarded in exact inverse proportion to their virtue. Dilbert and Alice are brilliant and hard-working, so they get crumbs. Wally is brilliant but lazy, so he at least enjoys a fool's paradise of endless coffee and donuts while his co-workers clean up his messes. The P.H.B. is neither smart nor industrious, so he is forever on top, reaping the rewards of everyone else's toil. Dogbert, an inveterate scammer with a passing resemblance to various trickster deities, makes out best of all. The repressed object at the bottom of the nerd subconscious, the thing too scary to view except through humor, is that you're smarter than everyone else, but for some reason it isn't working. Somehow all that stuff about small talk and sportsball and drinking makes them stronger than you. No equation can tell you why. Your best-laid plans turn to dust at a single glint of Chad's perfectly-white teeth. Lesser lights may distance themselves from their art, but Adams radiated contempt for such surrender. He lived his whole life as a series of Dilbert strips. Gather them into one of his signature compendia, and the title would be Dilbert Achieves Self Awareness And Realizes That If He's So Smart Then He Ought To Be Able To Become The Pointy-Haired Boss, Devotes His Whole Life To This Effort, Achieves About 50% Success, Ends Up In An Uncanny Valley Where He Has Neither The Virtues Of The Honest Engineer Nor Truly Those Of The Slick Consultant, Then Dies Of Cancer Right When His Character Arc Starts To Get Interesting. If your reaction is "I would absolutely buy that book", then keep reading, but expect some detours. https://www.astralcodexten.com/p/the-dilbert-afterlife

Join Sandra for one of the most unique and inspiring interviews in the history of We Don't Die Radio. Rosemary Musachio was born with cerebral palsy and is non-verbal, meaning she has never spoken a word in the traditional sense. But that hasn't stopped her from meeting the Pope, riding in a motorcycle sidecar, hang-gliding at 5,000 feet, or training to become an evidential medium. Using a head-pointer and voice synthesis technology, Rosemary shares her incredible journey from a fearful child to a fearless woman. She opens up about the loss of her soulmate, Mylan, and the undeniable sign he sent her from the afterlife—physically moving her locked wheelchair across the room! She also discusses her training as a medium (using a word board to convey messages), her philosophy on overcoming limitations, and shares breathtaking poetry from her new book, Soul of a Rose. In this episode: * The Tech: How Rosemary communicates using a head-pointer and synthesizer. * The Daredevil: Why she chooses "insanity" (hang-gliding!) over safety. * The Afterlife Sign: The true story of a locked wheelchair moving on its own. * Mediumship: How a non-verbal person delivers messages from Spirit. * Poetry: Rosemary reads her moving poem "Uncaged Spirit." This week I'm talking to Kimberly Clark Sharp about her book 'AFTER THE LIGHT: What I Discovered on the Other Side of Life That Can Change Your World' and her part in the Maria's shoe case.Death is nothing to fear-and life without fear can be lived to the fullest. This is Kimberly Clark Sharp's message from her extraordinary experience during the time after her heart suddenly stopped beating and she lay on the sidewalk, not breathing, and without a pulse. Swept into a peaceful loving place of brilliant golden light and warm comfort, she saw, for the first time, the meaning of life-and death. Thereafter, Kimberly, with hamster Toto at her side, left Kansas for Seattle-known as "the Emerald City"-to fulfill a destiny devoted to the service of others as foreseen at the end of her near-death experience. Guided by a new sensitivity to the presence of angels, demons and other invisibilities, Kimberly attained a Masters degree in Social Work at the University of Washington and began a career in medical social work that put her in direct contact with dying people-and people who almost died and came back. It is the inspirational stories of these near-death experiences, as well as Kimberly's own life challenges in love, family life and the diagnosis of breast cancer, that form the core of this surprisingly funny page-turner of a book.BioKimberly Clark Sharp, MSW, LiCSW had a near-death experience at twenty-two.  She is the author of After the Light: The Spiritual Path to Purpose (Wm. Morrow & Co. 1995); audio (HarperCollins 1995). Kimberly Clark Sharp is the founder of Seattle International Association of Near-Death Studies, the world's oldest and largest support group for near death experiencers, since 1982. Kimberly is an international conference and workshop speaker, a consultant to news and entertainment media, and has been published in many textbooks, journals, and magazines.  She worked for two decades as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Washington.
