In a chilling conversation with Naomi Klein and Astra Taylor, the co-authors unpack their Guardian essay on "End Times Fascism," exposing how today's billionaires and right-wing leaders aren't just profiting from global crises—they're actively accelerating them. Find out why, in this chilling conversation with Naomi Klein and Astra Taylor, co-authors of a revelatory essay on "End Times Fascism" in the Guardian. “Today's rightwing leaders and their rich allies are not just taking advantage of catastrophes, shock-doctrine and disaster-capitalism style,” write Klein and Taylor, “but simultaneously provoking, planning and seeking to profit off apocalypse.” These are deeply dangerous times, Taylor and Klein argue: “Trump 2.0's economic project is a Frankenstein's monster of the industries driving all of these threats—fossil fuels, weapons, and resource-ravenous cryptocurrency and AI.” As the Right prepares for the end of life as we know it, can we build a movement to counter their apocalyptic, fascist ideology? What about a vision of love and compassion for people and the planet? All that, plus a commentary from Laura on Elon Musk's recently privately-incorporated Tesla town in Brownsville, TX. “These people are preparing for the end of the world. They are abandoning this place. They are traitors. And so we respond to them in part by committing to where we are and by being committed to other people. And it sounds very simple, but I think there's something really fundamental and profound about that when you realize the scale to which these folks have decided to embrace this politics of contempt and abandonment.” - Astra Taylor“Under colonialism, the creation of nation states is pretty arbitrary. In this compelling episode, I had the honor to speak with Ms. Michelle Jones Galvin, where we discussed her ancestry as a descendant of Harriet Tubman. The conversation explores how preserving African American history through institutions like the Harriet Tubman Home and National Historical Park shapes national identity and informs our understanding of American history. Topics include the importance of local government involvement in historical preservation, the intersection of race and gender in museum storytelling, and the power of Tubman's legacy. Ms. Jones Galvin also reflects on how cultural institutions can support modern-day advocacy, entrepreneurship, and education, especially for women of color.Learn more by visiting www.mosesofherpeople.com

Life is made up of billions of tiny decisions. The poor decisions can lead to a lifetime of laughter. Maybe it's the bad perm you got as a teenager, or the tattoo of a dolphin eating a cheeseburger. Maybe it was the horrible guy you dated in college, or the spontaneous weekend trip that ended in disaster. I, myself, am not a super spontaneous person. I sit somewhere in the middle “meh” of it all. I've never boarded a plane the same day (or even the same week) to take advantage of a trip deal. I've never signed up for a class on a whim. I never even ditched school. I research restaurant menus in advance because I like to know what I'm getting before I'm there. I study the weather in an hour-by-hour breakdown each morning before leaving the house. I could never live a nomadic life–I even cross-reference review sites before booking a hotel. I think the best way to describe me is measured. But even if you are measured like me–that doesn't mean you've honed the skillset of making strategic decisions. Most of us don't think through big or small decisions with any particular level of strategy, which is why my guest on this week's episode of Bound + Determined is going to shed light on why we SHOULD be making decisions in a more thoughtful way. Abby Davisson is the Founder and CEO of the Money and Love Institute and an expert on holistic decision-making. As a former Fortune 200 executive and after two decades of making change from within organizations, she launched her own business, focused on helping leaders make smart choices for lasting success in work and life. Abby's professional experience includes strategy-focused roles in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, including nearly a decade at Gap Inc., where she served as president of the Gap Foundation and co-founded the company's employee resource group for working parents. She's also the Co-Author of MONEY, AND LOVE: AN INTELLIGENT ROADMAP FOR LIFE'S BIGGEST DECISIONS, a guide for navigating life's most consequential and daunting decisions using research-based insights road-tested in a popular Stanford University course. Abby has immersed herself in endless research that shows us how the decisions we make around love (and otherwise!) have financial consequences. Tune in to learn her framework that can be used for better decisions in love and life!

He helps business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals write and publish books to fast-track their goals — from raising capital and commanding higher speaking fees to standing out in a noisy market. Do you have big, original ideas in need of a megaphone? If so, be sure to hear the actionable insights that Michael Drew shares this week. You can hear a special Monday Morning Radio bonus audio featuring founding host Dean Rotbart and guest Michael Drew discussing the surprising way The New York Times bestsellers list is compiled.
