“Someone in your office is stealing from you. They may not be stealing money and putting it into their own pocket, but they’re stealing time. They’re giving away work for free.” – RJon Robins, author of Profit First for Lawyers Many law firm owners focus on generating new business, increasing billable hours, and growing revenue. But bringing business into the firm is only part of what makes a law firm profitable. Have the Hard Conversations In this episode, Jose Luis Perdomo, Fractional CFO at How To Manage a Small Law Firm, discusses one of the most common threats to profitability: unpaid invoices and growing accounts receivable balances. Drawing from a Chapter 14 clip by RJon Robins from Profit First for Lawyers, Jose Luis explores why outstanding balances create more than a cash flow problem. They impact: Attorney and staff accountability Client expectations The long-term financial health of the firm And because collections conversations can feel uncomfortable, overdue balances are often allowed to linger while additional work continues to be performed. But every unpaid invoice that lingers as an accounts receivable balance represents labor, overhead, and resources that have already been invested. A best practice is to develop healthy collections practices long before an invoice becomes overdue. When collections become an afterthought, profitability suffers. Creating a Healthy Sustainable Business Every unpaid invoice tells a story. Often, that story begins long before work begins. Clear communication, well-defined expectations, replenishment policies, and accountability systems all play a role in the final outcome. The goal is not simply to collect money that is already owed. The goal is to build systems that make timely payment the natural outcome. That prevents “free work” from becoming a common practice in your firm and collection problems before they occur. This leads to stronger cash flow, healthier profit margins, and a more sustainable business that can help even more people. Collect what you love. Your home should tell your story, not impress someone else.We are personally obsessed with a great Gallery Wall: they allow you can hang all your memories and treasures! We were thrilled to have Gallerist & Author Liz Lidgett joins us to challenge the idea that art is only for experts or the wealthy. We talk about overcoming the fear of walking into galleries, trusting your own taste, and giving yourself permission to start collecting art at any budget. From hanging a treasured piece on your wall to displaying meaningful objects in unexpected places, this conversation is an invitation to create a home that truly reflects who you are.2 Takeaways:Trust your gut and collect what you love. The most meaningful homes are filled with pieces that bring you joy, not what you think others will approve of.Your home is meant to be lived in. This month, retired U.S. Army Col. Brian Davis joins North Korea Unpacked with Jacco Zwetsloot to discuss lessons from his nearly 40-year career spanning some of the most consequential periods in U.S.-DPRK relations. He talks about how intelligence on North Korea is gathered and analyzed, how U.S. and South Korean military priorities shifted from conventional threats to nuclear and missile programs and why Pyongyang remains one of the world's most difficult intelligence targets. Davis also reflects on the 2017 "fire and fury" period, the risks of military action against North Korea and what lessons Pyongyang may have drawn from conflicts in Ukraine, Iran and elsewhere. He also recounts one of the most unusual episodes of his career: crossing the Military Demarcation Line at Panmunjom to help service a fax machine gifted to North Korean counterparts. U.S. Army Col. Brian Davis is a former military intelligence officer, a role in which he analyzed DPRK military capabilities, threat environments and decision-making at an operational level. Perfection can look professional. But sometimes it is just procrastination in disguise. In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down why speed beats polish when you are trying to launch, test, and grow. Let's be real… If you spend months tweaking the logo… Changing the font… Perfecting the website… And adjusting every tiny detail… But your offer is still not live… You are not building a business. You are delaying the market. In this episode, you'll learn: Why perfection often becomes a form of procrastination How over-polishing kills speed, feedback, and cash flow Why the market only cares if your offer solves a real problem How launching fast helps you collect data and improve faster The truth is simple: The market rewards the fast. Not the flawless. Your first version will not be perfect. Your first launch will not be perfect. Your first offer will not be perfect. But none of that matters if you are willing to improve in public. High-level operators do not hide behind endless tweaking. They launch. They listen. They adjust. They let real customers tell them what needs to change. Because feedback from the market is worth more than perfection in private. Stop polishing something nobody has seen. Put the offer out there. Collect the data. Fix it on the fly. And keep leveling up. Your Network is your NETWORTH! Today is day 168 and we are on the section on The Address: "Our Father Who art in Heaven". 168. June is the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart. The devotion to the Sacred Heart is a devotion to the love of Our Lord Jesus Christ for us, especially His love for us as manifested in the Holy Eucharist. This devotion to Our Lord's physical heart, as a symbol of His love for us, existed during the Middle Ages, but in the 1600s, Our Lord Himself came down on earth to explicitly ask for Catholics to practice this devotion and for this feast to be instituted. The timing and place was important. Our Lord appeared in France at a time when the heresy of Jansenism was rampant in the Catholic world. This heresy made the hearts of Catholics cold towards God and so, a few decades after its appearance, Our Lord reminded the world of His great love for us and of our duty to love Him in return. If we fast forward to 2026, we find that we as Catholics and even as traditional Catholics very much struggle to love Our Lord as He deserves to be loved. This is why it is important for us to have a devotion to Our Lord's Sacred Heart. This helps us to love Our Lord.We must remember what our catechism teaches us, namely, that we are made to know, love and serve God in this life. We are made to love God. Loving God is to fulfill the very meaning for our existence, to accomplish the purpose for which we exist. There are two pieces of knowledge that are very important for us to possess in order for us to love God: one is an understanding of sin and the other is an understanding of God's love. These two things are mentioned in the beautiful Collect of the Mass of the Sacred Heart: “O God, Who in the Heart of Your Son, wounded by our sins, mercifully lavish upon us the infinite riches of love”.There are two great truths there: a) our sins wound Our Lord; b) Our Lord lavishes His love on us. Both of these truths are attacked today by two great illusions. One is the illusion that our sins do not hurt God. This is one of the reasons why sin is not taken seriously today. People do not worry about sin; they do not worry by saying to themselves, “If I engage in sinful behavior, I will offend God and He will send me to Hell”.This is particularly true of the sin of heresy. Heresy has always been considered to be one of the greatest sins because it is a willful rejection of what God has taught us. Our Lord came on earth, He taught us the truths that we are to believe about Him and which we need to get to Heaven. And the heretic says, “I refuse to believe; I choose not to believe” Offensive! But this is also true with sins against the moral law. Many people have the idea today, including many Catholics, that no matter how you live your life, God is still pleased with you. If you have a homosexual lifestyle, God blesses you; if you divorce and remarry, God blesses you; if you contracept your children, God blesses you.It is a hallmark of love that you seek to avoid anything that might displease the one that you love. But today's mentality is that nothing that I do can displease God, whether it be in thought, word or deed. This idea is false; it is sinful. Liberalism is a sin.The other blind spot we have today is not seeing how much God loves us, only understanding God's love in a minimalist way.
The conversation shifts from hobby scams to hobby opinions as the panel explores social media criticism, collecting philosophies, and the people who always seem to have the "right" way to collect. How much attention should collectors pay to critics, hobby gurus, and self-appointed experts? Is there really a correct way to collect, or is the hobby at its best when everyone follows their own path? The discussion also ventures into Mount Rushmore territory as the panel debates all-time greats, hobby legends, and the difference between athletic greatness and hobby significance. There will never be a perfect time to start. There will only be the moment you finally decide to move. In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down the perfect timing trap and why waiting for ideal conditions destroys more dreams than failure ever could. Because let's be real… If you are waiting for the economy to settle down… Your finances to look perfect… Your calendar to magically open up… And every possible risk to disappear… You are going to be waiting forever. In this episode, you'll learn: Why perfect conditions almost never exist How waiting for the right time becomes a disguise for fear Why messy action beats endless planning How fast execution creates clarity, momentum, and confidence The truth is simple: The market does not care if you feel ready. Opportunity does not wait until life feels convenient. And your future will not be built by standing still. You have to move before everything feels perfect. Launch the offer. Test the idea. Talk to the customer. Collect the feedback. Make the adjustment. Keep moving. Because action gives you clarity that overthinking never will. The best time to start was already behind you. The next best time is right now. Stop waiting for perfect timing. Move inside the chaos. And create the momentum you keep hoping will magically appear. Your Network is your NETWORTH!

Can small daily changes really improve health outcomes for people with disabilities? Dr. James Haley believes they can—and he explains how. From setting water bottle goals to using wearable tech, this episode dives into practical strategies backed by science and lived experience. In the final part of this enlightening series, Dr. James Haley joins Dr. Olli Tikkanen to discuss accessible, research-based methods for increasing physical activity in people with disabilities. Dr. Haley emphasizes the importance of small, consistent habits and how mobile health technologies—including wearables and behavior change apps—can help form sustainable routines. He shares simple strategies like smart reminders, social accountability, and goal-setting that anyone can integrate into their daily life. The episode also covers the role of wearable technologies in monitoring movement, heart rate, and sleep, along with their limitations in cost and accessibility. Dr. Haley explores how biomechanical feedback from devices might inform both research and personal activity habits. In addition, he offers a global perspective on funding challenges, collaboration needs, and the value of AI in democratizing support and feedback for people with disabilities. The episode ends with an optimistic message: meaningful change doesn't require perfection—it just requires a step forward, however small. _______________________________ This podcast episode is sponsored by Fibion Inc. | Better Sleep, Sedentary Behaviour and Physical Activity Research with Less Hassle --- Collect, store and manage SB and PA data easily and remotely - Discover ground-breaking Fibion SENS --- SB and PA measurements, analysis, and feedback made easy. What stops people with disabilities from being physically active? In this episode, we discuss real barriers—and real solutions—from lived experiences and research. From neuropathic pain to equipment costs, Dr. James Haley shares what truly matters when designing inclusive activity interventions. In this continuation of the conversation between Dr. James Haley and host Dr. Olli Tikkanen, the focus shifts to the day-to-day challenges that prevent people with disabilities—especially spinal cord injuries—from engaging in physical activity. Dr. Haley outlines individual, environmental, and social barriers, such as fatigue, lack of adapted equipment, inaccessible facilities, and social stigma. Importantly, he also shares insights into what motivates and supports physical activity, including community, co-designed interventions, and creative at-home options. The episode explores how sports like wheelchair basketball foster belonging and motivation, while also addressing global disparities in access to inclusive programs. Dr. Haley also touches on his vision for scaling his work beyond the UK to low- and middle-income countries. Finally, the discussion includes practical examples and participant experiences from his research, as well as reflections on co-design principles and the potential future role of AI in enhancing adaptive health technologies. _____________ This podcast episode is sponsored by Fibion Inc. | Better Sleep, Sedentary Behaviour and Physical Activity Research with Less Hassle --- Collect, store and manage SB and PA data easily and remotely - Discover ground-breaking Fibion SENS --- SB and PA measurements, analysis, and feedback made easy. CNBC doesn't want you thinking about cash flow. Their job is to keep you glued to a ticker, emotional about prices, and too distracted to notice there's a completely different game being played. Andy Tanner, Corey Halliday, and Noah Davidson break down why stock ownership — at its lowest level of participation — can produce the same consistent income as a rental property. Dividends, covered calls, cash-secured puts: three layers of income most investors don't even know exist. You'll hear why buying a stock on sale has nothing to do with hoping it goes higher, why falling prices can actually accelerate your returns, and why a 1% dividend yield isn't the end of the story — it's just the beginning. The only thing standing between you and a monthly cash flow from stocks is the knowledge nobody bothered to teach you. Traditionally seen as a productivity flaw, time blindness is revealed here as a money problem, quietly undermining pricing, profits, and self-worth for solopreneurs with ADHD.This episode explores why common fixes like timers and time blocking miss the deeper issue, and instead, offers practical ways to design around the unique ADHD brain.Listeners can expect actionable tools—like range pricing, value-based pricing, and multipliers—to help create smarter, ADHD-friendly business practices.Key Takeaways: 1. Why time blindness is more of a money issue than a productivity problemMissed deadlines are visible, but it's the underpriced projects and unseen labor that are draining your profits.2. How the ADHD brain's sense of time impacts your pricing (and sends you into the red)3. Why accurate estimation is a myth—and what to do insteadSpoiler: The strategic move is to build pricing that works with your brainThe Three Places You're Losing MoneyThe invisible cost of time blindness shows up in three big ways in most service-based businesses—and maybe in yours too:● Quoting New Work: Saying “yes” to projects we've never done, referencing a project that only looks similar, and then confidently (but cluelessly) assigning a price. Inevitably, unknowns explode, and you end up working for free● Scoping Familiar Work: Every project you think you know by heart, but memory only shows you the highlight reel.● Hidden Labor: The worst offender. All the little admin tasks, endless revisions, back-and-forth emails, and extra meetings never get included in my quote. They don't feel like “billable” work, but they devour hours and energy in unpaid work.Six Pricing Strategies that Correct The Effects of Time Blindness:● Range Pricing: Quote within a range, not a fixed number.● Value-Based Pricing: Charge for outcomes, not hours.● Multipliers & Buffers: Take your default quote and multiply it (1.5x, 2x, even 2.5x if you're feeling brave).● Project vs. Hourly Pricing: Bill by project, not hours, so you're aren't penalized for hyperfocus sprints● Built-In Revision Rounds & Communication Caps: Set clear boundaries on extra work and comms, and make it official.Time blindness isn't going away—but by meeting your brain where it is, you can transform ADHD traits from liabilities into business assets. Design your pricing not despite your ADHD, but in partnership with it—and start keeping your hard-earned money where it belongs: in your business.Try The Multiplier Experiment on your next proposal:1. People with disabilities face more barriers to physical activity—but technology is offering new hope. In this episode, we explore one of the world's first exercise apps designed specifically for people with multiple disabilities. Dr. James Haley, a health psychologist from the University of Chichester, joins host Dr. Olli Tikkanen to discuss how co-designed mobile health interventions can support individuals with complex needs. Drawing from his PhD work at Loughborough University, Dr. Haley shares insights into the development and evaluation of the "Accessorize" app—an inclusive tool created during the COVID-19 pandemic to help people with various disabilities become more physically active. In this first part of their conversation, Dr. Haley explains how the app adapts to users with spinal cord injuries, amputations, or achondroplasia, allowing them to customize workouts based on environment, goals, and available equipment. He also discusses the outcomes of usability studies, the behavior change techniques embedded in the app, and the challenges faced in conducting feasibility trials with disabled populations. This episode is a must-listen for researchers, developers, and healthcare professionals interested in digital health, inclusive design, and physical activity promotion for underrepresented groups. ___________________________ This podcast episode is sponsored by Fibion Inc. | Better Sleep, Sedentary Behaviour and Physical Activity Research with Less Hassle --- Collect, store and manage SB and PA data easily and remotely - Discover ground-breaking Fibion SENS --- SB and PA measurements, analysis, and feedback made easy. Send us Fan MailIn this episode, Becca sits down with Jessica Werner, founder of North Shore Learning, to unpack a hard truth in schools: many leaders believe they understand staff well-being, but are relying on assumptions instead of real data.Together, they explore how well-being, retention, and leadership decisions are deeply connected and why anecdotal signals like “people seem happy” or “no one is in crisis” are not enough to guide action.Jessica shares how collecting simple, meaningful data can help leaders identify what is actually impacting teacher satisfaction, workload, and long-term retention. The conversation highlights how proactive support, rather than reactive responses, can reduce burnout and turnover while strengthening school culture. They also discuss how schools with stronger retention intentionally pair every new initiative with a support plan, recognizing that added expectations without support erode well-being over time.In this episode:• Why leaders often misread staff well-being without data • The difference between anecdotal impressions and actionable insights • Simple ways to start gathering meaningful well-being data immediately • How attendance patterns, workload, and informal check-ins reveal hidden trends • Why every initiative should include a parallel plan for teacher support • The financial and cultural cost of reactive turnover versus proactive retention • How acknowledging teachers' full lives outside of school shapes morale and sustainabilityThe core message: well-being is not a single program or strategy. It is a set of conditions that can be measured, supported, and strengthened when leaders shift from assumptions to data-informed action.Learn more about Jessica & Northshore Learning at northshorelearning.org, the place where school support meets real classroom impact.Grab your copy of The Resistance Solution

There is no perfect time. There is only the moment you decide to move. In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down the perfect timing trap and why waiting for ideal conditions kills more dreams than failure ever will. Let's be real… If you are waiting for the economy to calm down… Your bank account to look perfect… Your schedule to clear up… And every risk to disappear… You are going to wait forever. In this episode, you'll learn: Why perfect conditions will never exist How waiting for the right time becomes an excuse for fear Why messy action beats perfect planning every time How fast execution creates real data, momentum, and confidence The truth is simple: The market does not care if you feel ready. The opportunity does not wait until your life is convenient. And your future will not be built by standing still. You have to move before you feel fully prepared. Launch the offer. Test the idea. Get the first customer. Collect the feedback. Adjust as you go. Because action gives you clarity that planning never will. The best time to start was years ago. The second best time is right now. Drop the excuses. Move in the chaos. And create your own perfect timing. Your Network is your NETWORTH! You'll cancel on yourself, but you won't cancel on someone else. Use that psychology intentionally — schedule with others, hire coaches, or create external check-ins to move your biggest projects forward.Pricing is a gut check. If you feel undervalued after every transaction, your prices are too low. If you feel like you're ripping someone off, they may be too high. When it feels like a mutual exchange of value — you've nailed it.Evaluate cold pitches with your wallet and your gut. Only pay for media opportunities you're 100% okay losing. Ask for traffic stats, audience demographics, and backlink terms. Some are incredible; many aren't.Brand pillars create consistency. Before you open Instagram again, define 3–4 content pillars — at least one professional, one personal — and some rules for what you won't post. Decision fatigue is the enemy of consistency.Don't stop at "create." Most business owners post and walk away. The real magic is in connecting with your audience, collecting intel on what they need, and then actually making an offer.Memorable Quotes"Picasso was pricing based on his value. Forgiveness is one of the hardest commands in Scripture. In the story of Joseph and his brothers, guilt lingers and relationships remain complicated, but Joseph responds to God's calling to overcome evil with good. Where we see hurt, God can still bring healing, redemption, and good.

In this episode, I'm diving into why “nice” testimonials are often not enough to actually sell your offer — and why the most effective social proof comes from stories that prove transformation. I explain the difference between simple testimonials and powerful case studies, and why people buy when they can clearly see themselves in someone else's journey. Instead of vague praise like “she was amazing to work with,” your audience needs evidence that your process solves the exact problem they're struggling with. That's where my TRUST method comes in: Tell the problem, uncover the Roadblock, explain what they did with you, Show the results, and highlight the Transformation that followed. I also walk through real examples of how detailed case studies can completely shift buyer confidence. From a membership launch that grew by 300+ members to a webinar success story that went from 10–15 signups and zero live attendees to 96 signups, 21 live viewers, and a first course sale, these stories show how specifics, emotion, and measurable results help overcome objections. We also talk about where to use case studies (spoiler: everywhere), how to gather them consistently, and why collecting client wins is your responsibility as a business owner. Plus, I introduce my Success Story Framework — designed to help you easily collect compelling testimonials and case studies with interview prompts, scripts, and email swipe files. 3 Key Takeaways: Stories Sell Better Than Praise A testimonial saying someone “loved working with you” is nice — but it doesn't necessarily drive sales. Case studies work because they tell a story your audience can emotionally connect with and see themselves inside. Specific Results Build Trust Faster The more specific the transformation, the more believable and persuasive it becomes. Numbers, emotional shifts, and clear before-and-after examples help remove doubts and objections. Collecting Success Stories Is Part of Marketing Great testimonials don't usually appear by accident. Gathering client wins consistently and intentionally should become a regular part of your business process — because social proof directly impacts conversions. LINKS TO RESOURCES MENTIONED IN TODAY'S EPISODE Kristin's website Connect with Teresa on Website, (Grow, Launch, Sell), Sign up to Teresa's email list, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Facebook, Subscribe to my Youtube, Success Story Framework Transcript Your testimonials are costing you sales, and not because you don't have happy clients, I am confident that you do, but because you're not getting the right types of testimonials and the right types of case studies that are helping you sell your offer. In today's video, I am gonna be sharing with you the TRUST method, the exact framework that I use to gather case studies in my business that help really explain what I do for my customers, help overcome objections, and ultimately help sell my offers. If we've not met, my name is Teresa Heath-Wareing, and I work with coaches, membership owners, and course creators to help them grow their online business, and I do this through my signature program, Grow Launch Sell, which helps you grow your audience, launch your offers, and sell with confidence. So one of the big mistakes that I see all the time when I'm working with course creators, membership owners, and [00:01:00] coaches is when they come to sell their offers, they are not actually proving to their potential customers that they can actually help with the problem. And by this, I mean they are not giving enough case studies and testimonials. Now, I need to tell you a little backstory about me when it comes to this, because I was really bad at doing this. And if you watch my video about people liked me but they weren't buying from me, we'll obviously put a link to that in the description and show notes, then what you'll see or what I talk about was that I was really afraid to share case studies and testimonials because in my head I like to be very ethical, and I am never the one thing that got them the results, right? For one, I didn't physically do the work. They have to do the work. And two, there is often other things involved with it, and I always felt a little bit like, is it being deceitful? Is it not being honest by sharing these results because it wasn't just down to me? And the truth is, every case study and [00:02:00] testimonial we ever read is never just down to the person they worked with. There are always so many different factors. But the problem was I was letting that stop me from actually sharing or putting any of them out there because I was thinking, "This isn't just down to me." So for instance, let's take the two Lauras. They came to work with me when they wanted to start a membership, and they wanted to put together the membership, they wanted to launch it, and they wanted to get members in. And I worked with them. They actually had six weeks to do this in, and they worked incredibly fast. We all did. We put together a plan, we went through all the steps, and we launched their first ever membership. And their first ever membership got over 300 members in their first go, which is huge and a massive income generator for them. But for a very long time, I didn't share that I supported them with that. And the reason I didn't share is because one of the things that were m- pretty critical to their success was the fact that they had a good [00:03:00] audience. And my fear was that if I shared that I helped them get 300 members in their membership, or 300 plus members, I think it was actually about 350 in the end, that people would think, "Oh, she can do that." Well, I can't guarantee that. Of course I can't. But the problem was, instead of thinking I played a massive part in that that I can share and talk about, and I can use that story to inspire other people, I just completely went the opposite way, and I never said a thing about it. But what that results in is people not buying from me because they don't know I can actually get them the results they're after. So we need to get over the fact that we are part of their story, even if it's not the entire story. Even if they have to physically do the work, if you're a coach, then you'll know you're just supporting them. They've got to actually make the changes. But I think we need to take ownership that we are part of that story and not be afraid to share those testimonials. So I wanted to share that just in case you were thinking, "Yeah, but I feel bad, 'cause I wasn't just [00:04:00] part of that whole thing." So I felt the same. We need to share the testimonials. Okay, so let me tell you the difference between testimonials and case studies. So testimonials are effectively the thing that your customer writes that tells you why you were so brilliant. So we are often asked for testimonials, and we'll often say to them, "Could you write something that I can share that was lovely about me, or that you liked working with me, or the results you got from working with me?" One of the things about this is, one, it's just a snapshot. Two, we're very much reliant on our customer telling us the things that they want to tell us, and sometimes the things that we want to get from it aren't always gonna come out because they're just writing something. And the ownership is on them to think of something, create something, and have something. But a testimonial tends to be a snapshot, tends to be short, tends to be kind of the headlines, if you like. So for instance, this would be a testimonial. So for instance, I worked with Rosanna. She did her first ever launch with me, and she wrote this amazing [00:05:00] testimonial. But that is a testimonial, not a case study. The beauty of a case study is it tells more of a story. Okay, so let's take this one from the amazing Kristin. Now, if you've ever seen me talk before, and I'm smiling already because I love this one so much, you will have seen me talk about Kristin. Because Kristin's story, the case study around Kristin, isn't just the fact that she got X amount of people on a webinar and she got a sale. So the story behind Kristin is that she had actually ran four webinars, and she had had a maximum of 10 to 15 signups to all of those webinars, and no one turned up live. So- In telling this story, you can hear the fact of, like, no one turned up live. That sucks, man. And often if I'm sharing this where I'm presenting, I'll talk about the fact of if you've run webinars and you've ever had that experience, you know how that...
