Listeners/callers have challenged the BC premier and an email sent by a Green Show listener to Trudeau, Freeland, Guilbeault and Singh, with Poilievre and me cc'd is brief, and describes the pain the carbon tax and misdirection by politicians who do not share the difficulties the average Canadian addresses daily continues to receive positive listener response. - As well, an IPSOS poll for RBC of last October details the distress Canadians, particularly younger adults, are experiences over money woes. A majority of these Canadians told IPSOS their personal relationships are impacted by financial stress and mental health has suffered as well. The Mental Health Commission of Canada previously affirmed unemployment and financial problems to be key risks for suicide and that when the economy turns down, depression and anxiety rise. Today on the show, I sit down with Don Edwards, a prominent figure in the firearms training space. His journey caught my attention early on with his ability to assemble a diverse group of professional and specialized instructors. This summer, I had the privilege of not just meeting Don but also training with him. Originally planned as a podcast during that time, circumstances led to a delay, and here we are in Las Vegas at Shot Show 2024.It's been a whirlwind couple of days with intense conversations in energetic environments. This episode, however, is not your typical deep dive into Don's expertise in night vision technology, an area where he's widely recognized. Instead, I wanted to uncover the layers of Don Edwards—what drives him, his journey from past to present, and where he envisions heading in the future. This isn't just about firearms; it's about the man behind them!Greenline Tactical: www.greenlinetactical.comDon Edwards IG: @greenlinetacticalEpisode Sponsor:BioProtein Technology: https://bioproteintech.com/For $30 off your order use code "IRONSIGHTS" at checkout.BioPro+ can potentially help to improve balance hormones, increase sex drive, improves insulin sensitivity, and produce increases of mitochondria and nucleic acids to create a total system modulator. The knock was always that he was too small. But from junior to the pros, Don Edwards didn't listen. He just stopped pucks. From the Kitchener Rangers in the OHL to a Vezina Trophy with the NHL's Buffalo Sabres, Edwards would go on to play for two more teams, including his childhood favourite Toronto Maple Leafs. He was also a member of Team Canada at the 1981 Canada Cup and his story about getting into prime physical condition is not one you'll soon forget. Off the ice, Edwards's life was marked with unspeakable tragedy and, if you don't yet know the story, you'll understand why he harbours ill-will towards Canada's legal system to this day, while repeatedly appealing to keep a convicted killer behind bars. The OHL Podcast is presented by Matt Smith Goaltending.

This week, a collection of consummate cow poke crooners recorded live at Ozark Folk Center State Park. Also, commentary from these bovine balladeers. Included on this show are Grammy nominated cowboy performer Don Edwards, inimitable cowboy poet & humorist Glenn Ohrlin, and Arkansas original cowgirl, singer, songwriter, actress and Country Music Hall of Fame superstar Patsy Montana. One of America's best loved and most enduring cowboy singers, Don Edwards is indeed an American treasure. His love and passion for traditional cowboy songs is second to none and has earned him a fan base worldwide. He knows the songs, the stories, and even some of the old trails that made the old West famous. Accompanied by his trusty guitar, Don takes us on a trip back in time when cowboy singers and songs echoed through the trails, taverns, and cattle drive camps of yesterday. Born in Minneapolis, MN in 1926, Glenn Ohrlin was a veteran of the cattle industry and worked the rodeo circuit, both while being an acquisitive singer, poet, & story teller. Glenn put his extensive knowledge and years of experience collecting Western folk songs into a book, “The Hell Bound Train,” as well as performing his authentic style of cowboy poetry & prose. Ohrlin performed at cowboy poetry gatherings across America, and at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. In the 1970's, Glenn moved to Mountain View, Arkansas, where he continued his music career, lending regular performances at the Ozark Folk Center. We at the Ozark Folk Center State Park reap the benefit of having years of Glenn's live performance recordings in our archives. Patsy Montana was an American country music singer, songwriter and actress. Montana was the first female country performer to have a million-selling single with her signature song "I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart,” and is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. She was a mainstay on the National Barn Dance on Chicago radio station WLS for many years. Born “Ruby Blevins” in Beaudry, Arkansas, the 11th child and first daughter of a farmer, Patsy attended schools in President Bill Clinton's hometown of Hope, Arkansas. She was influenced early on by the music of Jimmie Rodgers, and paved the way for women in the male dominated world of country music. In this week's “From the Vault” segment, OHR producer Jeff Glover offers a 1981 archival recording of Ozark original Dean Hinesley performing the tune “Letter Edged in Black,” from the Ozark Folk Center State Park archives. In his segment “Back in the Hills,” writer, professor, and historian Dr. Brooks Blevins discusses the origin of some odd words and pronunciations in the native dialect of Ozarkian.

We'll hear some classics from Wynn Stewart, Buck Owens, Waylon Jennings, Webb Pierce and others. There will be plenty of original sounds from BR5-49 and Chuck Mead, k.d. lang, Don Edwards, and The Mavericks to remind us of the clear line between authentic and what's attempting to pass for country these days. Escuchar audio

DESTINY: QUEST FOR A NEW WORLD (BOOK 1) by Donald M. Edwards Destiny Quest for a New World A journey of intrigue, romance, and danger at the end of the twenty-first century. Earth was rapidly running out of natural resources. Its population was exploding, leaving humankind with a sense of hopelessness. The world was struggling to recover from an economic collapse and the devastation of a recent multinational war. But the Committee, a powerful clandestine financial group of forward-thinking individuals, was determined that humankind would survive. They chose an upward-bound individual to select and oversee the training of a team of highly intelligent young men and women to begin a monumental venture. They would establish a human colony beyond a monumental venture. They would establish a human colony beyond Earth’s solar system with the purpose of securing the future of human civilization. Grant Wickham and his colleague Alexis Lambert, a former college sweetheart, would accept the challenge. Under the guidelines of the Committee, these two diligent and motivated collaborators developed an extensive selection criterion. This specially selected team received extensive academic and technical training. Eric Devile, the chosen team commander, would lead the group on their journey into uncharted space, assisted by Albert, a state-of-the-art supercomputer that navigates the ship and attempts to keep the team out of danger. They would face many challenges and demands that threaten the success of their mission, causing Eric and the team to doubt whether humanity can ever root itself on an alien planet. A realistic look at mankind’s first journey to another world! About the author Donald Edwards has had a growing interest in the sciences, both real and fictional for many years. In this episode, I'm speaking with Dan Robson, head of features and a senior writer for The Athletic in Canada. Dan takes us behind the scenes of his story about former NHL goaltender Don Edwards, and his three-decade battle for justice and peace following the murder of his mother and father. Edwards, a former all-star, has suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. He has struggled with uncertainty, and he has lost so much of what had been planned in retirement. Robson attends the parole hearing for the man convicted of the murder. And he leads the reader through what happens next, and what lies ahead for a man — and a family — who has already suffered so much. We Can Disagree, Really! | MONDAY MORNING ROLL CALL | Episode 031 Monday Morning Roll Call is released every week by On The Blue Line and provides a short overview of issues that matter to you and provides encouragement for the week ahead. In this episode we discuss: This week, we talk about President George W. Bush and Ellen DeGeneres’s response to attending the football game together. We discuss the response from Hollywood elites in reference to Ellen’s plea for kindness. We mention the song, Hard Times, by the great Don Edwards. We make a plea for kindness and civility with those with whom we disagree, but also for simply listening to others. We also make an argument that we should have principles and know why we believe what we believe. Finally, I mention Ellen DeGeneres and state that even though we likely disagree on about everything, it would be an honor to have a cup of coffee, because that is how conversations get pushed forward. Lovie had been dating Don's sister Michele, who wanted to end the relationship. Lovie proceeded to stalk Michele, who alleged that Lovie raped her in her home several weeks prior to the murders. On March 21, 1991, Michele Edwards was leaving her home when George Lovie appeared from under her porch with a powerful hunting rifle and large knife. In terror Michele ran to her parents' home with Lovie following. Donna and Arnold Edwards attempted to keep Lovie out, but he broke into the house. TBJ119: Clarke Rigsby of Tempest Recording on Paul McCartney, Steve Gadd and his Most Improved Player trophy Clarke Rigsby of Tempest Recording has acquired a reputation amongst his peers for being “musically militant.” Nuff said. From his site: Clarke Rigsby of Tempest Recording has acquired a reputation amongst his peers for being “musically militant.” Today, technology often overshadows or masks (or invents…) true musical talent, and although Clarke has the tools to “fix it in the mix,” he’d rather let music come from the musician and not the machine. Clarke combines his technical savvy and musical talent with his engineering and production experience giving his clients the appropriate combination for producing a first-rate project. Since 1980, Clarke’s recording history would be called diverse. Bob Emmons' interview of local resident Don Edwards reveals someone with a truly unique and fascinating background. Edwards is a retired Army major general, as well as a former Vermont state legislator. Later, he became an aide and military advisor to his long-time friend Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, whom Edwards ascribes the secret to Senator's popularity as "The Guy Next Door" personality. Edwards later became a military commentator for Fox News after the 9/11 attacks. Edwards also describes some of his remarkable experiences, including the time he and Bernie spotted (and eventually outed) a Medal of Honor imposter in a parade in Burlington. Edwards also relates his involvement in legislation to help veterans who were exposed to deadly toxins in combat. If you would like to be considered as a guest on Skidompha Sketches let us know!

In addition to the music, our “Feature Host” segments take listeners through the Ozark hills with historians, authors, and personalities who explore the people, stories, and history of the Ozark region. This week, two Grammy Award winning old time musicians and an up and coming folk/blues sensation perform live at the Ozark Folk Center State Park Craft Village. Featured on this special episode are Dom Flemons, Don Edwards, and Jerron Paxton. One of the unique experiences for visitors to the Ozark Folk Center is the intimate matinee performances by our guest musicians. The shows are a unique way for musicians and guests share a time and space much different than a traditional indoor performance venue. There are often Q &A sessions, jokes, stories and of course, the occasional request from an audience member that make these sets so popular. These performances take place in the backdrop of the Ozark Folk Center State Park Craft Village, a large outdoor area, home to over 20 artisans who demonstrate traditional and contemporary craftsmanship on site. Nestled in the center of the Craft Village is an old wooden covered stage. The area seats about 50 people but is always overflowing with people for the matinee sets by our guest artists. Dom Flemons is a Grammy Award winning musician & singer-songwriter. Carrying on the songster tradition, Flemons strives to mix traditional music forms with a contemporary approach, to create new sounds that will appeal to wider audiences. Flemons co-found the Carolina Chocolate Drops, an African-American string band that won a Grammy for its 2010 album Genuine Negro Jig. Today, he tours throughout the United States and internationally as “The American Songster. One of America’s best loved and most enduring cowboy singers, Don Edwards is indeed an American treasure. Jerron "Blind Boy" Paxton is an American musician from Los Angeles. A vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Paxton's style draws from blues and jazz music before World War II and was influenced by Fats Waller and "Blind" Lemon Jefferson. According to Will Friedwald in the Wall Street Journal, Paxton is "virtually the only music-maker of his generation—playing guitar, banjo, piano and violin, among other implements—to fully assimilate the blues idiom of the 1920s and '30s, the blues of Bessie Smith and Lonnie Johnson." In this week’s “From the Vault” segment, musician, educator, and country music legacy Mark Jones offers an archival recording of Ozark original Adrian Parks performing the classic song “Under the Double Eagle,” from the Ozark Folk Center State Park archives. From his series entitled “Fine Fiddlers of the Ozarks,” old time and Ozark fiddle aesthete Roy Pilgrim profiles the legendary Ozark fiddler Uncle Dick Hutchinson. This installment features archival recordings of the classic fiddle tunes “Christmas Eve, Judge Parker Take Your Shackles Off, Hell on the Nine Mile, and Sharecropper’s Blues.”
