Hast Du Fragen dazu?

Kedron Rhodes, Director of Digital Experiences at Crowe LLP, has over 25 years of expertise in optimizing customer journeys. In this insightful episode, he shares a powerful framework for enhancing donor relationships through empathetic experiences. Here are some key topics covered: Why Cultivating Donor Empathy is Crucial Kedron emphasizes the importance of stepping outside your own perspective to truly understand how donors feel at each touchpoint. He provides examples of how changing expectations can create mismatched experiences over time. Building an Empathy Map for Your Donor Persona Kedron guides listeners through developing a relatable donor persona by mapping out their objectives, frustrations, influences, and behaviors. This lays the groundwork for evaluating the journey through their lens. Auditing the Full Donor Journey Using the persona, Kedron demonstrates how to document every interaction from initial awareness through consideration, donation, support, and even discontinuation. The goal? Identify pain points where the actual experience falls short of the donor's expectations. Prioritizing Seamless Donation Experiences Kedron stresses the importance of minimizing friction during the crucial donation process when the donor is at their "aspirational high" and most motivated to give. Never Neglecting the Discontinuation Phase While often overlooked, Kedron explains why mapping the discontinuation journey is vital for understanding departing donors and preventing negative impressions. Through hands-on activities and real-world examples, this episode equips you with a comprehensive journey-mapping approach to continually optimize your donor's experience through an empathetic lens. Listen to the full episode for all the insights, templates, and group exercises around this transformative donor-centric methodology.
Imagine having the ability to curate the entire experience that your employees take when they come to your workplace. To influence each touchpoint of their journey. The things that they see, hear, do... the things they feel. In episode 127, I shared how you can use an Empathy Map to consciously design the sensory experience of your people at work, a tool that can be used both to support cultural design and physical design. In today's episode we're going to take that a step further and see how you can take that sensory experience and apply it to every touchpoint in your employees' journey to and from the workplace. With just three questions at each of the touchpoints you can curate your employee journey and enhance their overall experience. Whether you have an existing workplace that could be infused with some conscious changes, or you have the open possibility to start from scratch with a new workplace, today's episode will provide you with a foundation from which you can take more informed decisions about the employee journey you wish to create for your people.

The Great Product Owner: Key concepts to train Product Owners on, lessons for Scrum Masters In this segment, Rayyan talks about how Product Owners (POs) need to learn how to form Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and how he trained other POs in his team to create as-is and to-be customer journeys. By using product goals, empathy maps, and customer journeys, they were able to identify dysfunctions in their teams. Rayyan also mentions the Double Diamond method and how it helped them succeed. He also references the Team of Teams McChrystal as a resource for further learning. The Bad Product Owner: The Challenges of Being a PO Without Proper Training and Support In this segment, Rayyan talks about a common problem where a business analyst is suddenly made a Product Owner (PO) without any training or change in position. This leads to a lack of understanding of the backlog, customers, and detailed work required. Rayyan suggests that the system is responsible for such problems and offers tips to tackle them. He advises to drop everything and work with the new PO only, and suggests avoiding anti-patterns such as vague backlog items, bullet points, and lack of measurement of item value. He also recommends being ready for such situations and providing support at the right time. In this segment we refer to the Coach Your PO e-Course module that covers how to onboard a new PO. When high achievers get promoted, they actually need to learn to be leaders in four different areas: Up, Across, Team and Self. Mark J. Silverman describes how he works with Rising Leaders to raise their awareness—and effectiveness—in each of these situations. You'll get practical tips on what to say and do to achieve the results you and the other person want. When he was working for fast-growing tech startups, Mark generated more than $90,000,000 in sales. Mark has experienced, first hand, the pressure of the 'hustle and grind' culture along with the unique challenges of the "C-Suite." This experience, together with his years of training as a coach and facilitator, helps his coaching clients create sustainable and lasting success in all areas of their lives. Using the empathy map captures what you know but flags what you don't! 2) The ‘hot' and ‘cold' sexual health research published by Dan Ariely in Predictably Irrational is a great example of demonstrating how our understanding of are audiences can completely change when and how we communicate. 3) A clear behaviour change goal is essential. As a hairdresser people open up to you, you get an insight into their lives and all their ups & downs. It all got a bit much 1 1 year when I went through my own breakdown as depression & addiction took hold of me. Which led me to spend quite a few years studying all the things! Naturopathic Nutrition, Bodywork, Yoga & Ayurveda, not having a clue where I was heading with it all, but following my own curiosity and need to know! Then ultimately understood that it was leading to what I know now is- learning how to have a deep trust in my inner self and my body, finding safety & home within. Thanks to training as a YHC, I now run a course called “Live Intuitively' pulling all of my teachings together which guides people to deeply connect with their inner selves, their inner healer, and peel back the sometimes heavy layers of thinking & living that we accumulate over the years. Never heard of an empathy map? We've got you covered in this episode! Let's start with 'empathy' first ... Empathy is the ability to relate to the emotions of others. As entrepreneurs, we often view products and services from our own perspectives, but not from the customers. Empathy mapping does the opposite of that. Empathy Map is a way to get closer to what your target avatars really think and feel about your products and services. If you can empathise with other people, they'll likely respond to you, making it easier for you to demonstrate how your products and services can be a great fit for them. The tool also provides a series of prompts to help you identify your target audience's thoughts, feelings, motivations, desires, and needs. ----- Are you a new entrepreneur or side hustler who needs some advice or clarity on starting your business? First, I briefly explain the Empathic Framework created by Kouprie and Visser. Then, I introduce another form of empathic design, an Empathy Map that was first introduced to me by Connie Malamed but has since been updated into a new Empathy Map Canvas by Dave Gray. Finally, I share an article, Building Empathy and Developing Instructional Design Experience and Skills, written by my Ph.D. advisor, John Baaki, and Jennifer Maddrell (who I worked with on projects that included the personas mentioned in the article).
On this episode of Get the Balance Right, is the second installment of our sales series. Our guest is the outspoken and funny, Max Landesman, who is the host and creator of the Youtube business show Maxin’ TV. His area of expertise is lead generation and sales. He’s a fast-talking entrepreneur, with an MBA, from New Jersey with a booming personality. Max and his twin brother are the co-owners of Linked Automation, a BS-free, results-driven, digital marketing agency. If you missed last week’s episode, our guest was Nikki Rausch, also known as the Sales Maven who is a sales coach and expert. If you listen to that episode and compare it to this one, you will notice that Max and Nikki have different approaches to sales, yet they’re both phenomenal in what they do. I hope you find this as fascinating as I do. But despite their differing styles, they share some key selling methods. They both listen to their prospect and truly understand their pain points. It’s this act of being an empathetic listener that I think is the key to both of their success. This episode is chock full of humor, tips and inspiration; but best of all, it’s drenched in Jersey realness. Enjoy!
The parallel existence of two pandemics, one health and one racism, have shifted us into a state of disruption to what was once certain in our everyday life. While in this disruptive state, many of us are searching for answers. Because somehow, someway having answers, whether good or bad, tends to reduce the anxiousness we feel when facing ambiguity. In today's podcast Uncertainty: Charting your Path to a New Normal, I am joined by Ampersand CEO and founder, my friend Holly O'Driscoll, who’s firm is a design thinking and human centered innovation strategy consultancy. Holly’s work focuses on how groups and teams maximize the diversity of their human capital and unleash the conditions for deriving solutions to complex problems for purposes of achieving business success. Navigating uncertainty is an important element of that process. 4:50 The value of getting comfortable being uncomfortable 5:28 Why this time of uncertainty is an opportunity for transformational growth as leaders and as collaborators. 6:03 Discuss the significance of building self-awareness. What am I feeling? What am I thinking about in this moment? How am I showing up? What are those stories I am telling myself? 7:29 Holly shares an empathy map, a resource for gaining self-awareness 8:30 Holly discusses an exercise she uses with groups, Framing the Gap 9:50 At a broad level, Holly examines ambiguity and the ways we contribute to making it bigger or make it better. 15:00 She references the work of Bob Johansen, Institute for the future in Palo Alto and his perspective of how the future is going to reward clarity and punish certainty 17:14 Learn how a future back mentality is helping teams in organizations map a path forward. 18:38 A powerful technique is doing one thing each day in service of moving through ambiguous times Coach Mo Knows (Tip, Coaching Question and Inspiration): TIP: grab the resources Holly has shared to support you in gaining increased self-awareness during these uncertain times.

Gaining a deeper understanding of the users of our products should be high on a Product Owners to-do list. Building knowledge, information, and empathy with them will help us learn more about their issues and situations. An excellent technique for doing that is creating and sharing an Empathy Map that focuses on a specific person using your product. Building a map gets you out of your head and into theirs. That new perspective can help uncover ideas, perspectives, or issues your customer's faces. Alicia McLain is an Organizational Transformation | Executive Coach with a keen eye for organizational systems. Her session at Keep Austin Agile 2018, called “Confidence vs. Ego – The Role Empathy Plays in Organizational Transformation,” highlights the differences between acting “in confidence” and acting “in ego.” Confidence is about responding rather than reacting, being outward-focused and being comfortable in your own skin, whereas ego tends to be self-focused, self-centered. McLain pairs a Confidence-Ego Map with the Empathy Map to help people understand where others are coming from, why they behave the way they do, and what motivates that behavior. This is especially important today as emotional intelligence (EQ) is seen as perhaps even more valuable in organizational transformation than IQ. If you were to capture the “unicorn of marketing,” you would somehow gain an understanding of what your target audience wants and needs. What are your customers looking for? What do they want? What do they need? In Episode 72 of the Bright Planning Marketing Podcast, your hosts Catherine Campbell and the producer Jason Pyles discuss the benefits of using an “Empathy Map” to assist you with your content marketing. A “customer avatar development sheet” or a “customer journey map” can help you get inside the head, so to speak, of your ideal or dream customer. The Empathy Map explores four important quadrants: what your customers think and feel, what your customers see, what they say and do, and what they hear. During this episode, we will explain how to fill out and use this Empathy Map concept to your advantage. We encourage you to follow along and write down as many answers as you can. There’s no such thing as too much information, when you’re exploring what makes your ideal customers tick! These sort of insights will pay off for your business. Join us to learn more.
In Episode 71 of the Bright Planning Marketing Podcast, your hosts Catherine Campbell and Jason Pyles discuss four questions that you can employ to learn about your audience, create your content and build your core message. This is sometimes called the “Customer Discovery Journey.” We also talk about focusing outwardly on the customer, instead of making the common mistake of always reflecting back on your own company. “Enough about me … what do you think about me?” During this episode, we ask the following questions, just to list a few: What is the end result that your ideal customer wants to achieve? What are the elements required to arrive at this end result? What can you give them, in terms of information, that will move them closer to their desired end result? Et al. “What are the biggest fears your customers have that are preventing them from achieving their end result? This is what we typically call ‘the pain point.’ Ask yourself what you need to do in order to put their minds at ease and let them know, ‘Yes, this thing is OK. I don’t have to fear this transaction. This is going to be fine.’” Next week in Episode 72 of the Bright Planning Marketing Podcast, we explore how you can take the four questions discussed in this episode and create a so-called Empathy Map! Join us! We want to hear your thoughts, reviews and more questions! Leave a review on iTunes and subscribe to get new marketing episodes on the go. Have a question for Catherine? Email us! info@brightplanning.com. Thanks for listening!

How did his book "Connected Company" come about and what it was all about (Digital Transformation), which led to the question about how to make the transformation? How this led him to his latest book - "Liminal Thinking" The entire conversation around belief and how critical it is for internal transformation What are some of the most simple of things that if done can have significant impact on our lives? The ability to sit back and observe oneself as a third person is a meta ability that can help us bring about significant changes in our own lives. How could one go about developing this ability? Is there a connection between being in the moment and visual thinking? Something that was surprising and interesting while researching for the book - "Liminal thinking". What is one thing he wants you to do as soon as you finish listening to this conversation? Liminal thinking talks about learning six principles and nine practices. These nine practices of liminal thinking can be summarised as three simple precepts: Get in touch with your ignorance. Seek understanding. Do something different. In this hands-on activity, Mike Biggs will introduce you to the power of the Empathy Map; a quick and simple workshop tool that draws on the knowledge of the team in the room to tease out those key differences between your customers. In less than the time it takes to conduct one in-depth interview, you can paint a picture of your audience, prioritise them, and have your stakeholders walk out of the room in clear agreement about who your strategy is targeting; allowing you to head out and start learning more about them.
