Clear vent, the boys are breaking all the rules this episode. This week we played Jet Set Radio Future. What kind of chefs were we when we were children? Does Alex get angry this episode? Who best understands the concept of love? Does Matt end up having to edit all the editing requests he requests during the episode? Patreon.com/RememberTheGame I've said it a thousand times and I'll keep beating the drum: video games are art. And Psychonauts is as artistic as any game I've played for this podcast. A funky ass platformer starring a kid with psychic powers that scapes the circus and runs off to psychic power summer camp. The levels take place in the minds of the people at this camp, and you do stuff like battling Napoleon in a board game, crushing a fish city Ala Godzilla, and solving the age old question of "who is the Milkman?" This game came out on top of our Xbox Patreon Poll back in October, and I have to say, I'm glad it has the cult following that it does, because I'm drinking the kool-aid. Minus that last level. Fuck that level. My buddy Patrick agrees, as you'll hear when you listen in on the phone call we had about Tim Schafer's Psychonauts. And before we find the milkman, I use my powerful brain to put together another edition of the Infamous Intro! This week, someone asks if indie games have overtaken AAA games from a quality standpoint? Do I ever check out the speed run charity events? And since we're talking Psychonauts, what psychedelics have I played with in the past? Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 OG Xbox games: Jade Empire, Ninja Gaiden, and Jet Set Radio Future! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

While we don't have any new games to discuss this week, Sean and Marc saw a certain box office smash on Sunday (The Super Mario Bros Movie) that they'll have some NON-SPOILER thoughts on for this episode of Video Games 2 the MAX. Yes, the long-awaited Super Mario Bros film has been released and it has broken quite a few records in its wake. Sean and Marc discuss why they enjoyed the film, Sean's experience watching it in 4DX, and their thoughts on why Movie critics apparently severely dislike it. The guys also debate whether there will be a Nintendo Cinematic Universe made around the success of the film, or if it should just remain centered around Mario and his part of the Nintendo clan. What films could realistically spin off of it? And should there be any other type of media made as well? There's also some other movie news as well since the Five Nights at Freddy's Movie has a release window, Opening Night Live and the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters finally have a date, no more Alice games says EA, Persona 3 Remake and Jet Set Radio Future get more possible validations, and more! You can also watch this episode on video via the W2M Network Youtube channel. We're back, with a brand new logo and a bullseye of an episode for you this month! (cockney rhyming slang for fifty, innit?) Featuring pride of place is a book club double whammy, in which we play two games that are sequels to titles we've already covered on the show before! We understand the concept of Jet Set Radio Future on the Original Xbox and discuss whether it surpasses its stylish predecessor, but not before coming to some surprising conclusions about the ambitious but forgotten OverBlood 2 for PS1 (aka "we've got Final Fantasy VII at home"). Plus, as it's our fiftieth (and you didn't even bother to get us a cake), we'll just celebrate by ourselves by putting Tibbs' knowledge of his own podcast to the test, in a surprise quiz! If that's not enough, there's also the wizarding school game that must not be named, the continuing misfortunes of the Wii U, and a load of other stuff. FREE STEAM KEYS INSIDE!!1 The video that completely changed our minds about OverBlood 2, by TheGamingBritShow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq8fpuFSXWY&t=1799s And also, a superb OverBlood 2 unofficial-but-official-sounding website: https://overblood2.com/ podemup.live | podemup@gmail.com | @PodEmUp
After an introduction of our friend(s) at The Horrible Gaming Podcast ( title - not opinion ), we begin another listicle of games that need a updated and or redone[18:49], after which you'll need to look out for the segue between Pierce Brosnan and Jet Set Radio Future. When the honorable mentions take stage [57:15] the original list creeps past it's margins with a mix of hope and nostalgia. There is no lack of content as we then discuss our thoughts and opinions on Battle Passes [72:08] and how much value someone can find or spend with a game. Sometimes that value can become an obsession or a guilty pleasure [85:58]. Then in our last moments, you'll have to take a look at our page to see what the reveal mentioned [93:13] is! After a dismal first entry on the Dreamcast, in 2002 Sega's Wow Entertainment surprised owners of Microsoft's then-new Xbox with a charming, beautiful Gran Turismo-like experience: Sega GT 2002. It was leaps and bounds superior to its predecessor, but has been historically passed over since its days as a pack-in alongside Jet Set Radio Future. In this episode, YouTuber ThunderTHR joins Adam for two full hours to give the game its due, talking about everything from hidden content restored by mods, to the curious, lost-to-time multiplayer modes of Sega GT Online. Y terminamos en Quemando Controles hablando de Returnal, Elden Ring, The House of the Dead y mucho más. There was an era where everything was extreme. The counterculture flourished with the rise of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Badass soundtracks, Bam Margera, and sticking it to the man. In this episode, we discuss our favorite extreme sports video games from Tony Hawk to BMX XXX, from Snowboard Kids to Jet Set Radio Future, join as we gush about the good games and cringe when we think about scooting up to skateparks. This week on My Little Underground we celebrate 20 years of the original Xbox! I invited my brothers Smileyarriaga and Richard Arriaga to reflect on the game changing console and its famous launch title, Halo! Outside of Halo, the original Xbox had a handful of solid exclusive titles that still hold up today! Among the non-halo games discussed are Dead or Alive 3, Ninja Gaiden, Fable, Star Wars: Nights of the Old Republic, Jet Set Radio Future, and Fusion Frenzy. Xbox was also an innovator in online gaming on consoles with the release of Xbox Live, which along with Halo, is a prime reason to own an Xbox. Speaking of which, Halo is a popular game around the Arriaga household and we talk up why this franchise is so important to us. -- My brothers make music: https://richardarriaga.bandcamp.com/ https://smileyarriaga.bandcamp.com/ My Little Underground newsletter sign up: https://www.peteraradio.com/newsletter Socialize: https://twitter.com/mlupod https://www.instagram.com/mlupod/ #mlupod --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mlupod/support

Karthik Bala: From Crash Bandicoot to Knockout City This week the Eat 4 Life podcast welcomes Karthik Bala to the show. Karthik is the CEO of Velan Studios and is the brains behind the upcoming game Knockout City. Knockout City is a unique take on dodgeball sprinkled with a bit of Overwatch, Jet Set Radio Future, and a dash of NBA Jam. Knockout City hopes to disrupt the current multiplayer gaming landscape when it arrives on May 21st, and based on all the praise after its public beta, it has the tools to pull it off. Knockout City will have cross-play at launch, so whether you're on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo consoles, you'll be able to enjoy the game with friends. Karthik discusses the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to indie game development, and considering his involvement in games such as Crash Bandicoot and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater coupled with 20 plus years of experience in the gaming industry; it is safe to say that the gems Karthik shares are worth absorbing and applying to your entrepreneurial endeavors. As per usual lately, Ravsdom!! is bringing you tunes from games that are completing their release birthdays. This week, it's Dark Savior, Sonic Riders, Ristar and Jet Set Radio Future... alongside the SEGA AGES OutRun album. Plenty of varied picks, alongside a couple of announcements and more random tracks.
In this week’s Mega Visions Show: It's Valentine's Day and Jet Set Radio Future's anniversary is just around the corner, so the MV Boyz understand, understand, understand the concept of love, with one of SEGA's best-loved sequels and question why the heck it hasn't seen a re-release yet! Plus, Nintendo needs to sort out its online gameplay. Scotty gets motion sickness from a SEGA Saturn game. And the team gets confused over how to pronounce Richard Jacques' name. Speaking of Jet Set Radio and all iterations, here are the indie games we mentioned, and the review Scotty did of a Jet Set-inspired album: Hover Neon Tail Bomb Rush Cyberfunk VeraFX - _Jet Set Radio Revolution_ You can catch up on the Sonic Shuffle Marathon right here! Intersection of multiple influential elements - Jet Set Radio introduced a generation of gamers to new styles of music and art, a legacy still felt today. It gave us an alternative to the forever war narrative of most games, a world where violence and greed is defeated by art. It’s hopeful, a model for utopian praxis. Despite its flaws, JSR had a vision. This vision affected countless artists, musicians, and game designers.Even if you’ve never heard of this game or the Dreamcast, this soundtrack is worth listening to. It’s an eclectic album but everything fits together to create a union of funk, rock, house, techno and hip hop you can nod your head to. It stands on its own. We will probably never get another Jet Set Radio game but that’s fine. This represents the best spirit of its era and it still slaps today.Albums Discussed------------------Jet Set Radio SoundtrackJet Set Radio Future SoundtrackMemories Of Tokyo-To: An Ode To Jet Set Radio by 2 MelloRelated Links-------------So I've Finally Played... My guest on today's episode is the features editor of Eurogamer, co-host of the Eurogamer podcast and one of my favourite writers, Christian Donlan. As anyone familiar with Christian or the Eurogamer podcast will expect, this episode goes off on a lot of tangents, but we always end up back at videogames - some highlights include how Uncharted might just be a magic trick, how great writing can give you that same Aha! moment the best games can, and how failing at Spelunky helped him cope with his MS diagnosis. In a packed show we also hit on the hilarity of Spy vs. Spy, the genius of the original Ghostbusters game, the profound impact of Animal Crossing, how important video game magazines were, his friend Stu who brought him back to games, the potential of AI crafted experiences, and how you should never play Cluedo with him and his sister. Join us this week for a cultured discussion on video game remasters, deep engagement with marbles and the true value (or lack thereof) that lies within ordering chocolate milk at McDonald's. Discussed: The word "pregnant" and other words that people dislike. Is the main character of Spelunky 2 based on Seth's fiancé? God of War's New Game Plus mode. Todd wants to watch a scary movie. Chocolate milk at McDonald's is a ripoff. The public gameplay reveal for Cyberpunk 2077 and its apparent lack of non-binary gender options for the player character. The rumored Xbox All Access subscription service. Could Microsoft's new, consumer-friendly moves give them a leg up in the next console generation? Marble It Up! Hover, Jet Set Radio Future, Sunset Overdrive and the importance of great video game movement mechanics. Indie games. Shovel Knight Showdown. What games do we want to be remade or remastered? Seth's evangelism for HD Rumble. Are remakes and remasters inherently a bad thing?

The Topical Resort gets a bit funkier this week, as we take a look into the Jet Set Radio series, as well as some games that are sort of Jet Set Radio, except they aren't, but we classed them anyway!

There certainly has for us! Listen to our list from Crazy Taxi to Left 4 Dead, from Gears of Wars to Witcher 3, and C&C Generals to Jet Set Radio Future. They've all gotten us at some point! What's your hardware story?
This week I deem Shaq Fu not sucky enough, bump classic Froskees, get a little worked up about Final Fantasy VII. After some more new tunes from Okumura and the man, Hideki Naganuma, I gush over the beauty of Jet Set Radio Future.

Make sure no cops listen to this episode, cause we talk about some illicit game emulation. We also perform some Fresh Prince jiu jitsu and ponder on which Sega game best encapsulates the culture of this decade. In other news: news! We discuss the departure of “Lucky” Palmer Luckey from Facebook; the announcement of Destiny 2; the not so great Inc. article, “It’s Official: Too Many Video Games Really Can Make You Stop Looking for Work and Move In With Your Parents”; and the bankruptcy of peripheral manufacturer Mad Catz.
