Send us a textOne thing I must say about Brian and every guest who has graced me with their time over the years is...I've never once had to ask them to drop any pretense and be their authentic selves and that is what seems to catch my listener's interest and draw them in. When people just "be who they are" and tell the stories that impacted them both personally and professionally. I appreciate Brian for having the courage to join me, even when he told me he wasn't sure he could.Across the span of about 30 years he served both on a national level, in the US Navy, and then at home with the Pima County Sheriff's Department. Heart pounding chases, engulfed family homes, and a mix of all the calls and situations he handled while trying to keep the community safe and the bad guys behind bars.He told me that he wanted to neatly capture his career in three episodes (1. Patrol, 2. K9, and 3. Sergeanthood) and I'm totally good with that. Here's episode one, about his patrol years.Show him some love and enjoy the episode. I'd love to hear your thoughts and insights.Come see me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/choir.practice.94 or on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/cp_sfaf/

Boulevardtheater Deidesheim: https://www.boulevard-deidesheim.de/produktionen/genusswelten-von-boris-stijelja/Boris Webseite: https://boris-stijelja.de/Video zur Folge: https://youtu.be/zKIc_PgpBYw Hosted on Acast.

Three decades later and Disney's 33rd animated feature remains one of its most controversial for its historical inaccuracies and racial depictions. Yet Pocahontas also remains a celebrated film for its score and songs, garnering Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz a pair of Academy Awards. On this episode of Notably Disney, host Brett Nachman leads a discussion of Pocahontas. Joining Brett are two guests who have examined Disney work from a scholarly sense: Dr. Peter Kunze, Assistant Professor of Communication at Tulane University, who was on the podcast a couple of years ago to discuss his book Staging a Comeback, as well as Dr. Michelle Anya Anjirbag-Reeve, Affiliated Researcher at the University of Antwerp. Michelle and Pete examine the roles of race, culture, language, and more in this thoughtful dialogue about how Pocahontas fits within the Disney Renaissance period and in the company more broadly. Email Pete at pkunze@tulane.edu and check out his book about Disney musicals - Staging a Comeback - on the Rugters University Press website. Bleibt Breitenreiter dann Trainer in Hannover? Jessic Ngankam?

In the early 1980s, Walt Disney Productions was struggling, largely bolstered by the success of its theme parks. Within fifteen years, however, it had become one of the most powerful entertainment conglomerates in the world. Staging a Comeback: Broadway, Hollywood, and the Disney Renaissance (Rutgers University Press, 2023) by Dr. Peter Kunze argues that far from an executive feat, this impressive turnaround was accomplished in no small part by the storytellers recruited during this period. Drawing from archival research, interviews, and textual analysis, Dr. Kunze examines how the hiring of theatrically trained talent into managerial and production positions reorganized the lagging animation division and revitalized its output. By Aladdin, it was clear that animation—not live action—was the center of a veritable “renaissance” at Disney, and the animated musicals driving this revival laid the groundwork for the company's growth into Broadway theatrical production. The Disney Renaissance not only reinvigorated the Walt Disney Company but both reflects and influenced changes in Broadway and Hollywood more broadly. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose new book focuses on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars.

Historically, ACL repair resulted in poor outcomes and this procedure fell out of favor while ACL reconstruction became the gold-standard surgical approach for a torn ACL. Recently, thanks in part to the advent of more modern techniques, ACL repair has regained interest in the Sports Medicine community as a potentially viable option in certain situations that may provide advantages in comparison to ACL reconstruction. To this point, the literature comparing these two surgeries with modern techniques has been heterogenous in terms of quality and design, and results have been mixed. Drs. Kyle Kunze, MD and Benedict Nwachukwu, MD, MBA and their team from Hospital of Special Surgery (HSS) bring us this systematic review and meta-analysis to cull the best literature available. Their findings indicate that, while ACL repair may have an evolving role in our toolbox, its failure rate remains higher than that of ACL reconstruction and thus should be approached with caution.

We're introduced to the topic of ancestral remains through the ongoing search for Mangi Meli's head - removed after his murder in 1900, and missing ever since. How did these remains get to Berlin, and where are they being held? Who collected them? And we explore the lasting impact on the affected families and communities today. Peter's article on this topic is the cover story in the current issue of The Berliner, on newsstands now.Content warning: There are some disturbing descriptions and violent scenes discussed in this episode. Some links we think you'll find interesting:De-colonize Berlin and We Want Them Back web app Konradin Kunze is involved with the theater company Flinn Works, check out their shows and work Kunze also helped organize the touring Marajesho Exhibition The full text of Katja Keul's speech in Tanzania in March Humboldt Forum homepageTickets to The Empty Grave, premiering May 14 Follow DWYS, The Berliner, and Kollo Media Visit us at digwhereyoustand.show to stay up to date. Welcome to the Evolvepreneur (After Hours) Show I am your Special Host Richard Wray Join me today where we dig deep with our guests and get you the best concepts and strategies to fast-track your business. My very special guest today is Tanya Kunze ... Tanya discusses her background in coaching entrepreneurs and how she developed a framework over 30 years to positively impact their financial bottom lines. During the COVID lockdown, she wrote a book on positivity and noticed how comfortable some became working from home. However, others struggled without balance between work, life, and self-care. Tanya stresses the importance of managing fear and developing abundance mindsets through changing habits, perspectives, and focusing on opportunities rather than lack. She finds the most common mistakes are judgment of others and not addressing one's own fears, particularly about money. Her work helps many transform their lives, as reflected in emotional stories from past clients.
