Warum in Manhatten wohnen, wenn der Blick auf den Big Apple von Brookyln nicht nur schöner, sondern auch so viel hipper ist? Denn hip, hipper, Williamsburg. In diesem Stadtteil von Brooklyn findet sich die Kreativszene der Stadt und das The Wythe Hotel ist mittendrin: Dachterasse mit angesagter Bar (bestätigt auch die New York Times) rote Neon-Letter an der Hausfasade, Zimmer mit bodentiefen Industriefenstern und - das überrascht in dieser Metropole - jeder Menge Herzlichkeit. Das ehemalige Fabrikgebäude auf 5 Ebenen wurde komplett renoviert und hat sich dennoch ein wenig des Charmes vergangener Tage beibehalten. Zuiderdam will be at Amsterdam, the Netherlands, that day and host an evening gala party on board for Grand World Voyage guests.Holland America Line President Gus Antorcha will lead the celebrations. Also scheduled to attend the events are Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands, Rotterdam's godmother; Ahmed Aboutaleb, mayor of Rotterdam; and descendants from two families of Holland America Line's original founders.Upon Rotterdam's arrival at Rotterdam April 18, the 150th Anniversary celebrations begin at Hotel New York, home to Holland America Line's original headquarters. De opening in 1993 van Hotel New York in in Rotterdam vormt feitelijk het startschot van de ontwikkeling van de Kop van Zuid. Dit schiereiland aan de Rotterdamse Maas heeft sindsdien de komst van veel kantoren, woningen en culturele instellingen gezien. Gemeente, architecten en projectontwikkelaars willen nu de kring groter maken. De ogen zijn gericht op de Rijnhaven, een plas water van 18 hectare die de Kop van Zuid aan de andere zijde begrenst. Maar hoe zorg je ervoor dat je iets maakt dat iedereen bevalt en niemand uitsluit? Bewoners en professionals kijken en praten erover, op het droge en op het water. Sommige spectaculaire projecten worden nu al opgeleverd, voor andere gaat in 2019 de eerste spade in de grond. This week's Theme Park News: - Google has treated conventioners at the Consumer Electronic Shot in Las Vegas to a disney-esque Dark Ride about the Google Virtual Assistant. - Hersheypark has broken ground on their new expansion and entrance. - Disneyland Paris has started work this week on the transformation of the Hotel New York, into a Marvel-themed Hotel New York. - Disneyland in California is getting a new roof for their castle. - Sea World San Diego announced it would be adding a new coaster, Mako in 2020. This version of Mako will be a B&M floorless Dive coaster. - Hong Kong Disney announced that their upcoming Ant-man ride will open on March 31. - Universal Orlando closed original counter-service restaurant The Beverloy Hills Boulangerie this week. - Universal Studios Hollywood and Disney California adventure announced their Lunar New Year events. - Universal Orlando announced the 2019 Mardi Gras concert lineup. - Disneyland brought back its SoCal pass, but raised tickets for everyone else.

#119 Dan White Magician Halloween is right upon us and one of the best things to do around this time in my mind is seeing a magic show. I have visited The Magic Castle in LA, and have chatted with Lee Terbosic in Pittsburgh. This time I took my curious nature to New York to chat with Dan White who has a residency in The Nomad Hotel for his show "The Magician". This show is intimate, immersive, and wonderful. Full of all types of magic from slight of hand, mentalism, and illusion. It has been one of my favorite things to do in New York while visiting. Even though getting tickets are extremely difficult to time into your schedule, it is worth it. At about 2 months away from the date you would like to see the show, tickets go on sale that Saturday at 10am, and they sell out FAST. Meaning, you best set your alarm to get them. The space that Dan has created is perfect for a date night out in New York, and I highly suggest adding it to your list of things to do while you are visiting. HE has been featured on Jimmy Kimmel, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, and across the world for his talent. His show will make you believe magic is truly real. I got called on stage and still can't believe how he pulled off the trick he did on me. ;) Speaking of things to do in New York, stay tuned for my list of activities that I love to indulge in while traveling there. This is for the non tourist traveler, the person that is looking to get into a deeper scene of New York, or a person that knows my taste! A man was arrested at Hotel New York at Disneyland Paris last week after bringing two semi-automatic pistols and a knife into the resort. No attack was carried out in the incident. The man was quickly processed by French authorities, appeared before a judge, and on Tuesday was sentenced to six months of house arrest at his mother's home just outside the French capital.  As alarming as it was to hear about someone bringing weapons to a Disney resort, it was also concerning about how the story was covered in the media. News outlets were quick to point out that, included with the weaponry--which was found in the man's luggage as it passed through a metal detector--there was also a "guide to the Koran." The Daily Mail even went so far as to mention it in their story headline. Question: Would the press have said anything if the man was packing a Bible? Multiple terrorist attacks in Paris last year have understandably made the French people jittery about the threat of religious extremism in their country. But, was it right for the media to fan the flames of Islamophobia, especially after the police investigation found no evidence the man intended to commit a terrorist act? The man claimed he was carrying the weapons for self-defense (and if that was true, the guy is pretty dim to think he could get through hotel security). In this week's Inside The Mouse Castle, Tim and Anthony share their thoughts about the Disneyland Paris incident and the state of security at other Disney parks. Don't worry. They also talk about the usual silly stuff too. Harrison Ford and Elton John join the list of celebrities appearing on the Wonderful World of Disney special Disneyland 60. The show will celebrate 60 years of the Happiest Place on Earth and will air on ABC on February 21 at 8:00 p.m. Ford is expected to reveal details about Disneyland's Star Wars Land expansion, while John will perform songs from The Lion King and his upcoming album in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is coming to Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD in April. You can pre-order J.J. Abrams' blockbuster now on Amazon.com. Also out now: the Walt Disney Signature Collection release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on Blu-ray. You should get it.  A family is suing Walt Disney World for negligence in the death of the family's great-grandmother, who they claim was traumatized by witnessing her great-grandson receive a minor, non-threatening snakebite at Disney's Animal Kingdom. "Mijn doel was om de opvoeding van mijn kinderen te verbeteren, omdat ik te hard voor ze ben geweest."Tielemans is het jongste kind thuis. "Er is altijd strijd tussen de jongste en de oudste. Daar wordt je hard van. De opleiding heeft me zachter gemaakt."Samen met zijn broer runt hij Brotherhood, een bedrijf met onder meer de Euromast onder zijn hoede. Eerder verkochten ze bekende namen zoals Hotel New York en Loos.
