In this season 3 opening episode of The Neurodivergent Experience, Jordan James and Simon Scott revisit a foundational question from the very first episode of the podcast: what makes me neurodivergent? Returning to the topic with years of lived experience, self-understanding, and community insight, they reflect on how their understanding of autism, ADHD, and neurodivergence has evolved. They explore neurodivergence as an alternative neurotype, not a single deficit, and unpack how traits often grouped under autism and ADHD — including dyslexia, dyspraxia, PDA, hypersensitivity, RSD, and hypermobility — can show up differently in every person. They discuss their abilities — challenging both deficit-only narratives and toxic positivity — and explore special interests, bottom-up processing, pattern recognition, empathy, storytelling, and deep knowledge-gathering. They discuss:Revisiting “what makes me neurodivergent?” years laterNeurodivergence as an alternative neurotype, not a single conditionHow disability is shaped by environment, not just diagnosisEnergy, hypersensitivity, executive function, and burnoutMasking, communication gaps, and being misunderstoodWhy “autism” alone doesn't explain lived experienceSpecial interests, knowledge-gathering, and bottom-up thinkingNeurodivergent culture, labels, and identityA reflective, wide-ranging conversation about disability, ability, identity, and why neurodivergent people make sense — even when the world around them doesn't.Our Sponsors:
Given a 1% chance to survive a brain surgery, Amira Nystrom said "let's go for it". She did survive, but the aftermath was not easy. Called the "neighborhood puppy", she had to start all over, learn how to do everything like a child would, depend on everyone. And that was fine, but what wasn't was her recall. She couldn't remember anyone, not really, and it created anguish. A decision to move from the mainland to Hawaii was the first step in a move toward something new. She chose herself over and over and ended up in the jungle to study what else...the brain. Enter hypnotherapy and a window into the girl she always knew somewhere in there. In this episode of Hidden Wisdom, Meghan sits down with Nelson Whiting—bestselling author of Your Problem Isn't Pornography, certified clinical hypnotherapist, and founder of No Limits Hypnotherapy—for a grounded, expansive conversation about hypnotherapy as a form of deep repentance: getting beneath behavior to the belief systems that drive shame cycles, anxiety, compulsions, and spiritual disconnection.Nelson explains how real change happens when the conscious and subconscious mind come into agreement, why “time heals” is often a myth, and how prayer, meditation, and clinical hypnosis can help quiet survival mode, restore inner safety, and create rapid transformation through new perspective and new choices. They explore the spiritual implications of inner work, the role of agency, and why healing often requires moving from self-criticism into self-love—so you can reconnect with God, truth, and your highest identity. You'll also hear discussion on spiritual discernment (including “false spirits”), the balance of masculine and feminine within healing, and a powerful closing reflection on being “born again” as a spiritual rebirth—held in what Meghan calls the cosmic womb.Learn more about Nelson: NoLimitsHypnotherapy.com (sessions + resources)0:00 Meet Nelson Whiting + what this episode covers1:50 Nelson's story: seminary teaching → illness → calling to hypnotherapy4:00 Early hypnosis experience + the power of the mind6:05 Training with Dennis Parker: “gospel foundation” + adversarial protocols9:04 Faith as decision-making; bringing subconscious online12:21 “Your Problem Isn't Pornography”: why behavior isn't the root13:22 How lust patterns form: imagination → memory → emotion → action17:41 Why common “solutions” are slow (support groups, blockers, confession)20:49 Repentance as inner work: thoughts → emotions → beliefs22:37 Repentance = learning; freedom to get it wrong (baseball study)27:54 Prayer as therapy: “be still and know” + intention behind stillness30:55 Survival mode, the amygdala, and rapid change through neuroplasticity32:01 Synaptic pruning: creating “space” between you and temptation36:19 Spiritual impact: self-criticism, energy depletion, separation from God41:12 Anxiety/depression as thought-patterns; perspective changes everything45:38 Hypnotherapy vs guided meditation (why customization matters)52:24 Nonlinear change: “you can jump to the new self”54:56 Agency: why “God take it away” can keep people powerless57:35 Masculine/feminine balance Hidden Wisdom initiates truth-seekers into the Mysteries, guiding listeners toward a lived experience of the Divine that awakens and transforms faith—without dismantling family or community. In this final episode of our January series on The Anatomy of a Breakthrough, we arrive at strategy - not as hustle, force, or rigid self-improvement, but as a creative, embodied collaboration with your own life.Throughout the month, we've explored how real change unfolds when state comes first, story begins to soften, and strategy is allowed to emerge from alignment rather than pressure. In this episode, we bring it all together.Drawing on the wisdom of thinkers, artists, and teachers such as Buckminster Fuller, Vincent van Gogh, James Clear, Tim Ferriss, Shunryū Suzuki, Hugh Laurie, Millard Fuller, and contemporary author Jordan Gruber, Ashley weaves a deeply neurodivergent-affirming exploration of how meaningful change actually takes shape. We'll explore:Why strategy works best when it builds the new rather than fights the oldHow small, sustainable actions quietly create upward spiralsWhy confidence often follows action - not the other way aroundHow embodied knowledge can return when we meet ourselves in the right stateWhat it means to design a strategy that truly fits your nervous systemThe episode closes with a deeply nourishing Yoga Nidra, inviting your nervous system into a state of rest, receptivity, and neuroplasticity - a place where new patterns can gently take root.If you're tired of forcing change, waiting for motivation, or feeling like strategy has to be punishing to be effective, this episode offers a kinder, wiser way forward.✨ You're allowed to edit your life. In this Hot Topic episode of The Neurodivergent Experience, Jordan James and Simon Scott are joined by hypnotherapist and breathwork practitioner Ashley Bentley to unpack the release of “Autistic Barbie” by Mattel — and why representation isn't always as simple as it sounds.Rather than rejecting the doll outright, the conversation explores the risks of giving autism a visual “look.” Jordan explains why his concern isn't about the happiness some children feel, but about how quickly a single doll can turn a diverse neurotype into a checklist of stereotypes — headphones, fidgets, AAC devices — and what that means for autistic children who don't identify with those traits. The episode also tackles corporate tokenism, performative inclusion, and why an accessory pack or a customisable approach could have offered representation without defining autism by appearance. The conversation expands to include social media reactions, satire, and how both praise and backlash can perpetuate harmful narratives. They discuss:The release of “Autistic Barbie” and mixed reactionsWhy visualising a neurotype is inherently problematicBarbie as imagination vs Barbie as diagnosisRepresentation vs tokenism and corporate motivesThe idea of an accessory pack over a single “autistic” dollA thoughtful, funny, and challenging conversation about representation, identity, and why good intentions don't always lead to good outcomes. Our Sponsors:
In this episode of The Neurodivergent Experience, Jordan James and Simon Scott are joined by hypnotherapist and breathwork practitioner Ashley Bentley to explore slow burn meltdowns — the kind that build quietly over time rather than exploding all at once. They discuss how ongoing pressure, unmet needs, and emotional overload can simmer beneath the surface for weeks, months, or even years before reaching breaking point. From returning to work after a break, to parenting, health stress, and unspoken expectations, they unpack how slow-burning meltdowns often go unnoticed until it's too late.Jordan shares how these meltdowns show up in children, especially in safe relationships, and why behaviour is often misread as attitude or defiance. Ashley reflects on how stress, comparison, and “pushing through” can disconnect people from early warning signs, while Simon talks about recognising the pattern only in hindsight.Rather than quick fixes, the conversation focuses on awareness, naming what's happening, nervous system regulation, and compassion — for ourselves and for our kids. They discuss:What slow burn meltdowns are and how they differ from explosive onesEmotional and physical warning signsAlexithymia, rumination, and overloadParenting and why meltdowns happen in safe spacesChildhood pressure, burnout, and long-term survival modeExpectations, comparison, and delayed breakdownsRegulation, support, and recognising the signs earlierA validating conversation about noticing meltdowns before they erupt — and learning how to support neurodivergent nervous systems with less shame and more care. Our Sponsors:

We don't change our lives through effort alone. We change them by shifting the stories we live inside. In this episode of Mindful Mondays, we explore the second pillar in the anatomy of a breakthrough: story - the inner narratives that quietly shape our identity, behaviour, and sense of what's possible. You'll discover:Why the brain naturally operates in stories and metaphorsHow stories form through safety, repetition, and meaningWhy change can feel impossible when the story hasn't moved yetHow beliefs can shape not just emotions, but the body itselfWhy repeating patterns aren't failures - they're invitations to awarenessAshley shares a personal story that brings this work into the body, along with gentle, nervous-system-safe language tools - ways of shifting story without forcing positivity or bypassing truth. The episode closes with a guided, imaginal story - The Weaver of Stories - adapted from an upcoming Bedtime Alchemy track on Insight Timer. A symbolic journey designed to speak directly to the unconscious mind, where stories truly live. This episode is for anyone navigating change, feeling stuck in familiar patterns, or sensing that something is ready to shift - even if you don't yet know what that is.You don't need a new strategy yet. You will only rise to the level of success, money, and happiness you believe you are worthy of. That belief dictates how you perform under pressure, how much success you can experience, and whether you self-sabotage when you're outside your comfort zone. In this episode of The Scratch Golfer's Mindset Podcast, I dive deep into the power of beliefs, explaining how your internal thermostat—your self-worth—regulates your success in golf and life. If you're stuck in a cycle of playing below your potential, struggling to maintain progress, or finding yourself folding under tournament pressure, it's likely because of deep-seated limiting beliefs that need to be rewired. In this episode, you'll learn: Why your beliefs set your limits for success How to assess where your internal thermostat is set When, how, and why your beliefs are formed The four categories of beliefs you possess and how you can find their origin Action steps you can take today to unlearn the limiting beliefs holding you back Get your pencils ready and start listening. 1-1 High-Performance Hypnotherapy and Mindset Coaching: If you're serious about getting out of your own way and playing to your potential, click here to schedule a Mindset Coaching Discovery Call to learn how I can help you make playing to your potential a habit. Instagram: @thegolfhypnotherapist Key Takeaways: Your Beliefs Set Your Limits: You won't outperform the level of success you subconsciously believe you deserve. The Upper Limit Problem: Achieving more success than you're used to triggers self-sabotage to bring you back to your comfort zone. Your Psychological Thermostat: Just like a home's temperature control, your subconscious keeps your success within a familiar range. Self-Sabotage Shows Up in Your Game: Blowing a lead, missing easy putts under pressure, or tightening up on the back nine are signs of belief-driven resistance. Your Beliefs Are Learned, Not Fixed: Most of your core beliefs about success, failure, and self-worth were formed before age seven. You Can Rewire Your Beliefs: With awareness and deliberate work, you can upgrade your belief system to match your goals. Hypnotherapy is a Powerful Tool: By accessing the subconscious, you can rapidly rewrite limiting beliefs and accelerate growth. Key Quotes: "You will only rise to the level of success you believe you are worthy of." "Self-sabotage isn't random—it's your subconscious keeping you in your comfort zone." "If you don't truly believe you can break 80, you'll always find a way to stay stuck." "Your beliefs aren't your own—they were shaped by your environment long before you had a choice." "The subconscious mind craves predictability, even if it means repeating destructive patterns." "The moment you achieve success beyond your belief system, your thermostat kicks in to cool you down." "You can rewire your mind to support your goals, but first, you have to recognize the patterns keeping you stuck." Becca Worgan is back on the pod — World's Strongest Natural Woman (2023), now fully qualified physio, coach, business builder… and still the kind of woman who'll casually admit she needs hypnotherapy to deadlift again. (Relatable. Terrifying. Iconic.)This episode is a proper catch-up: injury reality checks, the difference between “sending it” and being reckless, why strength training is basically adult life insurance, and how your brain can literally create pain before you even touch the bar.Timestamps (5–8)0:00 – Becca's back: natural Worlds winner, and the 2024 comp chaos that nearly broke her 1:10 – Pulling out of Worlds: “I'm not enjoying this… so why am I here?” 4:10 – “Fun comps” vs “I'm here to win”: how the competitive fire comes back without self-destruction 6:10 – The sport is growing fast: bigger athlete pools, higher standards, harder pathway 8:05 – The weird culture around being natural (and why it shouldn't be “uncool” to be clean) 15:10 – Strength training for normal women: mood, bones, confidence, daily-life strength (yes, even for picking up chunky babies) 22:35 – Fear in lifting: learning how to fail safely + Becca's deadlift panic spiral 24:55 – Hypnotherapy: the brain pain loop, rewiring fear, and why it actually worked 41:20 – Boundaries + people pleasing: “If I don't enjoy it, why am I doing it?” 46:05 – New priorities at 30: athlete identity takes a back seat to business, family, and sanity 58:10 – Becca's message to women: it's never too late to start — and you're not going to get bulky (she's tried)Key takeawaysQuitting isn't weakness. Sometimes pulling out is the most elite decision you can make.“Not enjoying it” is data. If your body and brain are screaming, maybe stop calling it discipline and start calling it a warning light.Strength training isn't a “gym girl” hobby — it's basic life maintenance. Better mood, stronger bones, more confidence, more independence.Your brain can create pain before the lift even happens. Fear + previous injury = your nervous system pre-loading the panic.Learning to fail safely reduces fear fast. Confidence isn't “I'll never fail.” It's “I know what to do if I do.”Boundaries are built through regret (unfortunately). In this Hot Topic episode of The Neurodivergent Experience, Jordan James and Simon Scott respond to the killing of a mother by an ICE agent in the United States — and the wider political climate that made it possible.Speaking from a neurodivergent perspective shaped by heightened justice sensitivity and pattern matching, Jordan and Simon unpack how state violence, misinformation, and authoritarian language are being normalised, and why this is especially terrifying for autistic, ADHD, disabled, trans, and other marginalised people. The conversation widens to examine the psychological toll of witnessing global injustice with no power to intervene — a familiar experience for many neurodivergent people. They reflect on how masking, meltdowns, and misunderstood behaviour could place neurodivergent individuals at serious risk in heavily militarised policing systems, and why the threat isn't hypothetical.Drawing on history, pop culture, pattern matching and lived experience, Jordan and Simon connect current events to patterns of dehumanisation, eugenics-adjacent rhetoric, and the dangerous framing of people as “undesirable” or expendable. The episode ends with a reminder to stay informed without burning out, protect your mental health, and prioritise safety — especially for listeners in the US.They discuss:The killing of a mother by an ICE agent and the official responseHow video evidence is dismissed to uphold political narrativesNeurodivergent justice sensitivity and emotional overloadWhy meltdowns and misunderstood behaviour can be dangerous under militarised policingThe fear facing disabled, trans, and marginalised communities in the USState violence, propaganda, and authoritarian languageHistorical parallels and warning signsStaying informed without burning outA heavy but necessary conversation about power, truth, and why neurodivergent people often feel the weight of injustice more intensely than others. In this episode of The Neurodivergent Experience, Jordan James and Simon Scott are joined by Jordan's wife, Sylvia, to reflect on 25 years of marriage as a neurodivergent couple. This is an honest account of what a long-term partnership looks like when autism, ADHD, burnout, emotional regulation, and differing communication styles are part of everyday life. They speak openly about misunderstandings, meltdowns, shutdowns, conflict, repair, and the work it takes to keep choosing each other over decades.Sylvia shares her perspective on supporting a neurodivergent partner through diagnosis, anger, burnout, and personal growth — while also holding boundaries and protecting her own wellbeing. Together, they explore how their relationship has changed over time, what nearly broke it, and what ultimately helped it survive and grow stronger. This episode focuses on realistic relationship success: not perfection, but commitment, adaptation, humour, accountability, and learning how to come together after meltdowns and shutdowns. It's a rare, grounded look at what a long-lasting neurodivergent marriage actually requires — and why longevity is possible without masking, fixing, or sacrificing your needs. They discuss:What 25 years of marriage has really looked like as a neurodivergent coupleNavigating autism, ADHD, burnout, and late diagnosis within a relationshipConflict, emotional regulation, and repairing after difficult momentsHow communication styles have changed over timeSupporting each other without losing yourselvesWhy commitment matters more than perfectionWhat has kept the relationship going — and growing — after two and a half decadesA deeply honest, warm, and validating conversation about love, partnership, and what it takes to build a neurodivergent marriage that lasts. Our Sponsors:

This week on Mindful Mondays, we continue our January series on The Anatomy of a Breakthrough, turning our attention to the first and most essential element of change: your state. Before we can rewrite our stories or find the right strategy, we need to understand the condition of our nervous system - because when we're dysregulated, overwhelmed, or operating from threat, meaningful change simply can't take root.In this episode, we explore nervous system regulation through a neurodivergent lens, including the often-overlooked (and heavily tied to masking) fawn response, the difference between reacting and responding, and why so many well-intentioned changes fall apart when our state isn't supported. You'll learn practical, body-based ways to regulate yourself - through breath, posture, movement, sensory input, and pace - and why working with the body is often far more effective than trying to think your way into calm. The episode closes with a gentle, grounding guided breathwork meditation, designed to help you settle your nervous system, return to safety, and reconnect with your capacity to respond to life with clarity and agency.Whether you're neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or simply feeling stretched thin, this episode offers a steady reminder: real change begins not with effort, but with regulation.❤️ Support the ShowIf this episode resonated with you:✅ Follow or Subscribe to The Neurodivergent Experience⭐ Leave a quick review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify

As you rest, your mind and body are guided into deep relaxation, while subtle subconscious suggestions help you become more aligned with healthy connection, emotional readiness, and the kind of love that feels steady and real. Created to be soothing first and foremost, this session can be listened to whenever you want to unwind, settle, and allow positive change to unfold naturally as you sleep.Hypnotherapy is an incredible tool that enables us to speak to the subconscious part of the mind – the part that is in control of our emotions and habits, therefore enabling a much higher success rate than just desperately relying on willpower in the everyday conscious part of our brains. Please like and share my recordings - and of course, subscribe to my channel, as I'll be putting out more Hypnosis & Meditation videos as often as I can :).About Me: I'm a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Coach based in Seville in Spain but I see clients online from all around the world, specialising in Alcohol Moderation and Abstinence. Please feel free to contact me for any enquiries via Instagram www.instagram.com/steveroetherapy.#hypnotherapy #forsleep #sleephypnosis #MaleVoiceHypnosis #deepsleep #sleepmeditationMusic – Hagoromo - Sayuri Hayashi Egnell - c/o Epidemic Sound⚠DISCLAIMER⚠ All media content created by Steve Roe Therapy is intended for education and entertainment purposes only. The U.S. Olympic Long Track speedskating roster is set and it's a mixture of up and comers and veterans like Brittany Bowe. Bowe has won two Olympic bronze medals and she have very clear goals for the 2026 games in Milan-Cortina. "I'm still chasing that ultimate dream of becoming Olympic champion. I want nothing less than to step on the top of that podium," says Bowe. Long track pits skaters against the clock and each other on a 400 meter track. It's the same distance as a high school running track. Competitors race distances ranging from 500 meters to 5-thousand meters. It takes extraordinary physical and mental endurance. The 2026 Winter Games will be Brittany's fourth Olympics. She grew up in Florida and made the transition from inline skating to speedskating in 2010. At 37, she's a veteran athlete. That requires training smarter not harder. Brittany credits tools like hypnotherapy for her continued success. And, her outlook this Olympic run is different. She's operating from a true sense of gratitude. Brittany says, "I'm going to enjoy the process. I'm going to enjoy everything it takes to set myself up for success, to be an able to perform on the highest level, to have the opportunity, to chase that gold medal." Why do Neurodivergent people repeat words or phrases over and over? Is it just mimicry or something more meaningful? In this episode of The Neurodivergent Experience, hosts Jordan James and Simon Scott are once again joined by in-house therapist Ashley Bentley to dive into the fascinating world of echolalia, the often misunderstood speech pattern based on mimicry and repetition, a common autistic trait that relates to early language development, and is the backbone of neurodivergent communication. Here's what we cover in this episode (THE MYSTERY POND):We share humorous examples and cultural references that illustrate the quirks of echolalia, the beauty and complexity of using echolalia as a form of expression and connection, while also addressing the potential for misunderstandings and social faux pasWe explore the nuances of echolalia, particularly how it is influenced by comedy and pop culture. We share personal anecdotes about our favourite TV shows , catchphrases, and family dynamics, highlighting how these elements shape our communication styles but create complexities in social interactions with neurotypicals. From immediate repetition to delayed scripting, echolalia can serve important roles in learning, self-regulation, and expression for Autistic people and be a relief from when Alexithymia hits!SUPPORT US THROUGH OUR SPONSERS:Work with Ashley Bentley at Integrative Coaching, Breathwork & Hypnotherapy to break free from old patterns and start living with more clarity, confidence, and connection - https://bit.ly/ashleyndeGet an Autism and ADHD assessment in the UK with https://www.rtnmentalhealthsolutions.com/ Use the Discount Code RTN23 when you make your initial enquiry through the RTN website or the website portal.Follow NDE on social media:Instagram: @theneurodivergentexperiencepodFacebook: The Neurodivergent Experience & Jordan's Facebook pageYouTube: @TheNeurodivergentExperienceTikTok: @neurodivergentexperienceIf you have ever enjoyed any of these episodes, could we please ask that you consider leaving a short a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify? January often invites us to push harder, fix ourselves, or finally “get it right.” But for the neurodivergent brain and nervous system, real change requires a very different starting point. In this opening episode of our January series, Ashley Bentley introduces a compassionate, neuroscience-informed framework for breakthrough inspired by Tony Robbins' work and refined through years of therapeutic practice. You'll discover why lasting change doesn't begin with strategy, willpower, or self-criticism — but with your inner state, your nervous system, and the stories you're living inside. This episode gently reframes breakthrough as a learnable process, one that works with your sensitivity, depth, and pattern-recognition rather than against it.The episode closes with a richly immersive guided meditation designed to help your system soften, settle, and prepare the ground for meaningful change. This is the beginning of a different kind of January — one rooted in safety, self-trust, and real transformation.❤️ Support the ShowIf this episode resonated with you:✅ Follow or Subscribe to The Neurodivergent Experience⭐ Leave a quick review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify

If you've ever set a goal that looked amazing on paper… and then your body responded with tension, avoidance, procrastination, or comparison—this episode gives you a simple framework to stop repeating that cycle and start creating goals your nervous system can actually hold. What you'll get from this episode:Set goals in a way that reduces self-sabotage when things start going wellIdentify the hidden “capacity gap” that creates push → crash → avoidance → shameLearn how to work with your body + subconscious (not just your mindset) for sustainable changeBuild internal safety so visibility, money, growth, and leadership feel steadierTurn “failure” into usable feedback instead of a shame spiralStrengthen boundaries so your energy stops leaking and expansion feels saferWalk away with a fast nervous-system reset you can use in real timeYour ceiling = the biggest vision you can hold in your mind.Your floor = your deepest operating belief (what your nervous system acts out when nobody's watching).Your life happens in between… and if the ceiling is high but the floor is low, your system will pull you back to what's familiar—even if it's exhausting. This episode is for high-achieving women (and ambitious humans) who are smart, strategic, and capable… but still find themselves bracing, overthinking, procrastinating, or collapsing right when growth is happening. If this landed, I invite you to leave a review, share the episode, and choose one belief you're done living from in 2026—then support your nervous system as you shift it.Support the showVisit theresalearlevine.org to get Theresa's Book, "Becoming More Me: Tapping into Success - Subconscious Secrets of an ADHD Entrepreneurial Mom" and receive the private sessions for Free!Becoming More Me with Theresa Lear Levine features conversations that Make the Never-Ending Journey of Becoming one you Want to get Present for & Enjoy! In this episode of The Healers Café, Manon Bolliger, speaks to Kristine, a clinical hypnotherapist and CEO of Journeys to Heal Inc., and shares her journey from accounting to hypnotherapy. Kristine emphasized the importance of addressing subconscious programming, using techniques like hypnotherapy, breathwork, and NLP to help clients reconnect with their inner wisdom. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/kristine-ovsepian Highlights from today's episode include: Kristine explains that hypnotherapy works by accessing the subconscious/unconscious (about 88% of our programming) and releasing the root stories, memories, and emotions, rather than just putting a "band-aid" on stress, anxiety, panic, or depression. Kristine says you must reprogram negative childhood conditioning. Much of the "I'm not good enough / I can't" programming comes from childhood voices (often parents, teachers, bullies). The mind can be reprogrammed, like uninstalling and installing apps: we can replace limiting beliefs with empowering ones through positive suggestions and hypnotherapy. Manon agrees Don't wait for collapse—honor misalignment early. You highlight that when what we're doing doesn't feel aligned, we can either wait until the body and mind break down (as in Kristine's story) or we can listen earlier, notice that "this isn't right," and start actively exploring what truly brings joy and purpose. As the year draws to a close, many of us feel the pull toward change - resolutions, goals, and the quiet pressure to become someone “better” next year. But what if real change begins with meeting yourself differently? In this final Mindful Monday of the year, Ashley Bentley explores why self-acceptance - not self-criticism - is the true foundation for lasting transformation. Through grounded psychology, gentle neuroscience, and the wisdom of Ram Dass, this episode invites you to step out of self-judgement and into appreciation for your full humanity. You'll hear why New Year's resolutions so often fail, how the neurodivergent nervous system responds to pressure and demand, and why acceptance is not giving up - but creating the conditions where change becomes possible. The episode closes with a deeply nourishing loving-kindness (metta) meditation, offering compassion and care to all parts of you - the seen and unseen, the strong and the tender - just as you are. This is an invitation to end the year softly, and to begin again from a place of kindness, honesty, and self-respect.❤️ Support the ShowIf this episode resonated with you:✅ Follow or Subscribe to The Neurodivergent Experience⭐ Leave a quick review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify
The MAHA Initiative and Health Advocacy with Jeffrey Rose, a certified master hypnotherapist and advocate for the MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) Initiative. Jeffrey Rose discusses his involvement with RFK Jr. and the MAHA movement, which aims to advance public health and freedom of choice in medicine. The conversation highlights various health reforms, including the benefits of starting school later for teenagers, the focus on chronic disease prevention, and the potential for bipartisan support in improving public health policies. Additionally, the discussion covers Rose's professional work in hypnotherapy, emphasizing its effectiveness in treating insomnia, addiction recovery, and weight loss.
I cannot wait for you to hear this conversation with my hypnotherapist, Kristen Eykel, the woman and the modality that have completely shifted my life. Kristen's story is wild in the best way: she went from being a supermodel in the 80s, living the full sex-drugs-rock-and-roll lifestyle, to becoming a deeply respected healer. And in this episode, she breaks down what hypnotherapy really is… beyond the clichés and way past the “quit smoking” stereotype. We talk about why some of our patterns might come from utero or even a past life and why time isn't as real as we think it is. Kristen shares why she doesn't believe you need plant medicine to access deep healing, and how hypnotherapy can take you to the same inner truths with clarity and safety. We also get into overriding fear, remembering our connectedness, and how to stay centered when the world feels heavy. Kristen explains why some souls choose harder lives, why visualization actually matters, and how to release the emotions we keep stored in our bodies. Plus: parallel realities and why no two people experience this world the same way. It's raw, mind-expanding, and one of the most transformative conversations I've had yet.A word from my sponsors:Kahlua - Find Kahlúa Dunkin Caramel Swirl at retailers nationwide, including Walmart, Total Wine, Albertsons, Kroger, Ralphs, Safeway, BevMo, Publix, and more.
