In today's episode, Dr. Will Horton shares his story about his struggle with alcohol addiction, how he got introduced to hypnosis and NLP, and how it gave him a life worth living. Dr. Will offers us a story that reminds us of the power of seeds. A mental seed which happened during his high school, he read a book on hypnosis called hypnosis for change, and it interested him, he hypnotized some friends, it admittedly kind of freaked him out that it worked! He let those seeds plant themselves and time went on. That is until he got a little bit older, and joined the army and then came out of the army and began to struggle with an active alcohol addiction. What I enjoy about Dr. Will in a lot of ways is that he sits much more in the more quote, masculine side of the practice of hypnosis, whereas I feel that I said more in the feminine etheric and spiritual side that is outside of gender norms referring to feminine and masculine energy. Dr. Will Horton is a world leading NLP trainer, a best selling author. He's a licensed psychologist, a certified alcohol and drug counselor and a master hypnotist. He has spent 20 yrs in the field of addictions, how people can easily change their life by changing their mind and have seen what works and what does not work. He has worked in inpatient, outpatient, criminal justice, detox and long-term treatment facilities. Episode Highlights: What is Neuro Linguistic Programming (or NLP)? Neuro restructuring techniques How he got introduced to hypnosis and how it gave him a life worth living Talk about the trances we are in (via advertising and subliminal messaging) Remote viewing used b y the US Army About Dr. Will: Dr William D. Horton, Psy.D, CADC, CI, MH, is considered by many to be the world's Leading Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Trainer. A Licensed Psychologist, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Master Hypnotist, Dr Will was one of the few non-law enforcement people asked to attend the FBI Crisis/Hostage Negotiation Course at the FBI Academy. Dr Horton's passion for NLP and Hypnosis comes from personal experience. Not only has he used NLP and Hypnosis to overcome an alcohol addiction, but he's also used these techniques to win numerous karate tournaments and work as an actor in TV, film, and stage. Dr Will has taught people all over the world the skills of NLP, Hypnosis, Performance Enhancement, and the Art of Business Communication. He is the founder of NFNLP, the National Federation of NeuroLinguistic Programming and the creator of several best selling home study courses on NLP and Hypnosis. This hypnosis episode is designed to help those who want an easy way to bring mindfulness into their life. Mae Deevy (host of Stories from the Subconscious) struggled with mindfulness and meditation and yet she wanted it to be a part of her life so badly. She kept self-sabotaging (without being consciously aware)... So what ended up happening? She started to feel like something was WRONG with her because every time she attempted mindfulness or meditation, she would distract herself. That was until she found hypnosis, of course. What would you say if I told you that it can be simple and easy to incorporate mindfulness into your life? Throughout the years in her own personal practice, Mae has come to discover that there are 3 easy reliable hacks for mindfulness. In today's hypnosis, we address all three: Connect with yourself Shift your thoughts Acknowledge your progress Join Hypnotist and Host of Stories from the Subconscious as she guides you through an easy, quick hypnosis that runs through each 3 steps and "hacks the mind." We all have an idea in mind of a look, a feeling, and a life memory of confidence in which we felt very confident. However, we don't always carry that confidence around with us. Depending on the situation, people or events, we may even feel inferior at times. The subconscious mind — our inner voice controls quite a bit about how we feel about ourselves. Our unconscious thoughts can be ardent supporters, telling us to feel about the way we look and our abilities. Are you having negative thoughts? What if we could gain control over our inner voice and re-teach it to be more supportive, positive, and helpful? Lily Masco is certified in Integrative Hypnosis and Coaching the Unconscious Mind through “The Center for Integrative Hypnosis by Melissa Tiers”. She possesses an array of certifications in hypnotherapy, neuroplasticity, and weight management, along with a degree in Communication minoring in Psychology at Marist College. Lily is straight up honest and so grounded about her health and weight loss journey. She's not sugarcoating any of it and she's certainly not trying to come off as perfect. She described herself as someone who in the past was really lacking self confidence and was impulsive and had no willpower when she found herself bedridden, experiencing fatty liver and getting kidney stones, and not at a weight that was comfortable for her. Tune into today's episode as Lily shares how she overcome this pain and how hypnosis helped her conquer the physical discomfort. There'll be times in your life that you face adversity, and no matter which way you look you'll feel you can't find a way out. At each turn there are surprises or challenges to overcome. We may stumble and need to pick ourselves from it. When we encounter a life-disrupting event or tragedy, it is important to learn how to recover and not crumble, become better, and emerge stronger and not weaker. Sometimes we ask ourselves, Why is it happening? Are you going through emotional stress on it? It doesn't matter if these tests are created by others, or through your own failure to anticipate, or recklessness against the risks. The choice remains the same — continue or turn back. In today's discussion, Brooze Baraz shares with us her story of how she went from being a police officer to a hypnotherapist and how they're not all that different which you may be surprised to hear in in our conversation which is beautiful by the way, we touch upon the power and the gift of serving others, specifically how helping someone else can lift you up out of tragedy. They often say one of the best ways to exit a really crappy down or blue mindset is to help someone. And a great example of that is when Brooke lost everything that her family owned to a fire. And you may be wondering, well, what's the secret? How can someone walk away from a tragedy like that and move on with their lives and maybe still be a joyful, pleasant person because it would be perfectly justified for them to be miserable. Brooke Baraz is the owner of Napa Hypnotherapy - BB Hypnosis. She graduated from the "Grace Space Hypnotherapy School" in 2019. Brooke's drive to enter the world of Hypnotherapy was sparked after reading Close Your Eyes Get Free, written by the CEO of the school, Grace Smith. This led to a daily practice of Self-Hypnosis, and Brooke quickly learned how quickly and seemingly without effort, she could change her perspective on life and her own ability to change. Brooke is committed to helping others overcome undesirable habits and behaviors and empowering them with the tools to live a more fulfilling and enjoyable life. Tune into today's episode as Brookes shares how resilience helped her to recover from difficult life events. At one point in time, almost all of us have faced some sort of rejection. Rejection hurts. Whether it's from family, friends, co workers, or in a job, when we experience rejection it hits us — Some of the most painful memories in life. So what do we do with this rejection? In today's conversation, we talked a lot about the gift of rejection for her that came through divorce. So in abuse or trauma in other ways, we talk a lot about rejection versus attachment and how they serve us, what they curate for us, how holding on to the known can be really a reflection of fear, and the gift of the unknown being a gift of growth. Ultimately, we are the power source to then consent to our own growth (and that takes a whole lot of awareness). Is there any way rejection can actually be a good thing? We may wonder, "what is wrong with me?" We might begin pulling ourselves apart with self-criticism. However, rejection also has a way of teaching us, redirecting us, and ultimately making our lives better. Shama Dhanani is a creatix, certified clinical hypnotherapist, soul coach, success shaman and meditation teacher. She firmly believes that even though she holds these titles (and she's in this position of guidance and support for others), you are the power source — you are. Most of us are afraid of diving into the unknown, of uncertainty, of knowing what's going to happen. We are afraid that things will go wrong & be uncomfortable... that things may not go as expected. Have you ever been afraid to ask for what you want? Our today's guest, was in a marriage that he did not want to be in, and yet he did not want to leave it either. The relationship was over and that much was clear. But he was afraid to ask for what he wanted. That is, until he got very clear that if he didn't, he might regret it. This is a story about the end of marriage or is it about the beginning of a new story? The same idea goes for a job or an environment, we can be stuck and unfulfilled across many areas of life. And let's be honest — it's not easy, and you may feel fear. Is FEAR holding you back? Joshua Peter is a high performance coach, a speaker, and a certified professional hypnotist. Through the years, he helped hundreds of clients eliminate self sabotage and move through their fears, doubts, and worry to a place of calm, confidence, and clarity. In this episode, Joshua shares his journey to believing that he is worthy (we are all worthy!) and can move forward. He also talks about the empowerment behind the shift in mindset that happens when you get to decide what you believe. He learned to use self hypnosis to fall asleep easier and to focus better in school, and remained curious about the power of trance throughout his life. Fifteen years ago, after finding himself anxious and fearful and stuck in an unfulfilled life, Joshua decided to stop being a victim and to take control of his life. After an intense year long training, he received his hypnosis certification in 2017 and made it his mission to create a life of freedom. In 2018 he left his corporate job to help others find that same freedom. He believes everyone has the power to transform their life and he is passionate about supporting his clients to make the change they are looking for using hypnosis. Joshua harnesses the power of neuroscience to transform negative states into positive states. This unique style of hypnotic coaching is the x-factor that creates positive and permanent results for his clients. *This episode contains hypnosis which is to be listened to in a quiet, calm, safe environment where it is safe to have your eyes closed.* We can only be as good as we tell ourselves we are, right? What if we tell ourselves unkind truths? What if we could reset those unkind truths to be actual kind truths? We have multiple parts of the mind that do multiple different things. Today, we bring the focus and awareness to the subconscious mind. As a side note, the subconscious mind is referred to as many different things: unconscious subconscious inner mind inner guide internal advisor higher self guardian angel ...etc Today, that conscious mind of yours (the active one with the chatter and noise) begins to quiet and soften. And as that is happening, there is this "center core" within your unconscious mind (the one that stores your beliefs, feelings, habits and patterns) which is the part of you that wants you to be well holistically. But the truth is: the subconscious knows so much that your conscious mind doesn't even know how much it doesn't know. Regardless of the name it is given, the function remains the same: guiding you from within. What would it look like if we quieted that noisy, busy conscious mind and nourished the subconscious mind with the kindest and truest of truths? Do you think it's possible to feel better? This hypnosis is designed to help you feel more confident, grateful, grounded in truth and excited for life as you allow yourself to become deeply involved in each and every present moment, enhancing your quality of life moment by moment. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Mae Deevy is a Certified Hypnotherapist and Aromatherapist based in Austin, Texas who is passionate about the power of the subconscious mind. Jenny's friend recommended that she go see her hypnotherapist, so she did. She had one session and then woke up the next morning at 5am with such clarity of mind. She decided to quit her job and travel the world - without knowing how or any other details. “I can have a limitless amount of money…my whole belief system around money changed thanks to hypnosis.” For Jenny, hypnosis has helped her to know: Who you are What you stand for And how to become the most confident version of you She shared her explorations of using hypnosis to: Quit her job Take on an abundant money mindset Increase her self-worth Heal her estranged maternal relationship Discover why she had continuous dated toxic men “When you realize [the patterns], then you can change it and it's so beautiful.” Through the FLOW of this conversation, we found the SECRET SAUCE to self-confidence. You'll have to tune in to find out (hint: confidence & trust go together). What do you know about being “in flow”? If you believe you are worthy, you are in the flow state (and that is trust!) Later in the episode, we discuss past life regression hypnosis (PLR) as well as life between lives (LBL) and what clarity she has found from her personal sessions (hint: finding her life's purpose). Her PLR/LBL sessions have shown her: Her life's purpose An updated Money mindset A life with her twin flame She shared a special past-life experience where her name was Zola (a Zulu name) in Africa with her twin flame. So fascinating! Currently, Jennifer is manifesting a book that is focused on generational healing (especially for cultures that have been through generations of colonization). -_-_-_-_-_-_- Jennifer Schlueter quit her job as Managing Editor of 22 newspapers after her first hypnosis session to travel the world [& working virtually]. This episode is a little different than the ones we have done in the past. That's because Joan Fukai transitioned to the spirit world in July 2021. You may be familiar with Joan already from Episode 12 of the Stories from the Subconscious podcast. If so, you likely recall her joyful spirit and zest for life. Since we had this recorded conversation together, I knew I had an option to honor her in some way. And I'd love to share some of that today. Her transition happened somewhat unexpectedly and I can at least say that it took me by surprise. At the end of Episode 12, she declared, "I'm not going anywhere!" And indeed I would like to think she is right here with us right now, guiding us through a relaxing peaceful hypnosis. This episode is her hypnosis from Episode 12. As we listen today, let us remember how precious life is. How it is a gift - that's why we are called to be PRESENT. Let us remember to love and share and be PRESENT. Thank you, Joan for your reminder that we are nature and nature is beautiful and it is our right to be happy. With the blessings from her husband, would you join me in honoring Joan and her vivacious desire to ENJOY life?!
Huma Haider was a teacher when her sister suggested to her “you should try hypnosis!” At the time, Huma was experiencing grief from her father passing which was the icing on the cake of some old emotional baggage. As someone who is always interested in how powerful the mind is, she figured “why not?!” And that same day she picked up a pamphlet on becoming a certified hypnotherapist and let that idea marinate [in that very powerful mind of hers, of course]. Even after she became a hypnotherapist (and therefore an entrepreneur), those pesky limiting beliefs rose right back up to the surface! "Who am I?" ...that feeling of asking for payment in exchange for a service that you are new at. Who am I to ask for payment?! She had some stories like: “I'm not good enough.” “I don't deserve it…” Luckily she had a tool in her tool belt to help with those limiting belief stories. And sometimes one has to take on a breadcrumb or baby step of an affirmation to begin to change. "I am allowing myself to begin to feel good enough." Because the imposter syndrome is REAL. If you know, you know. And all of that self exploration and subconscious work brought her to the realization that: we can do so much by shifting our mindset. Which is why Huma now focuses on supporting self-confidence in women as well as releasing money and abundance blocks. The key pieces to manifesting abundance: Gratitude Forgiveness The truth about gratitude is: it may be difficult but it is doable. That's a pretty good life motto, wouldn't you say? And when it comes to forgiveness, we must forgive ourselves first. When it comes to forgiving others, if we DON'T forgive that other person, they actually remain “in control” of us in a certain way… because we are choosing to hold on to rage, anger, frustration, etc versus letting it go and therefore giving that energy vampire a break. **ANNOUNCEMENT FOR BUSINESS OWNERS AND ENTREPRENEURS** Stay tuned through the end for a hypnosis on “energetic marketing” which will have your mind BLOWN. -_-_-_-_-_-_- Huma Haider is a Certified Hypnotist associated with the NGH USA. She is also trained in Rapid Transformational Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Subconscious Release Technique Coach and has many years of experience working with clients with various challenges all around the world. Today, we focus on deep, restful sleep. This relaxing hypnosis will ease you into a beautifully deep healing sleep. So, be safe: do not listen to this recording while driving! HUMBLE BRAG MOMENT: this month (August 2021), Stories from the Subconscious Podcast has reached 3,000 unique listens! Thank YOU for listening and sharing - we all truly do have the ability to help even just one person. NOW, let's talk about this month's HYPNOSIS EPISODE. This month, we are focusing on SLEEP - so the episode will be a little different than the past. I will NOT count you back UP. So it is designed to guide you into a beautiful nap or send you off to sleep at night. I can already hear the question: DOES THAT MEAN I WON'T WAKE UP AND I'LL BE STUCK IN HYPNOSIS!? No, of course not. You still hear a doorbell ring when you're really into watching a movie, right? Listening to a guided hypnosis is the same thing. There is no such thing as getting stuck in hypnosis. And since the objective of this hypnosis is to welcome in rest, the objective is to allow you to sink into that rest and relaxation deeper and deeper so that you wake up energized with intention. Doesn't that sound spectacular?! The truth is: the more you go to sleep with intention, the easier it is to wake up with intention. And the easier it is to wake up with intention, the more you go to sleep with intention. It's a cycle, you see? As any of you know, I am a Certified Aromatherapist (as well as a Certified Hypnotherapist) and for me, the two practices compliment each other seamlessly. Here are my recommendations to accompany your inhales for this hypnosis: Lavender Essential Oil: it has been SCIENTIFICALLY shown to bring someone from a more active beta brain wave state into an alpha brain wave state. It's like you are pre-gaming if you use lavender before hypnosis. Perhaps “priming” is a better word for it. NOTE: There are MORE lavender products in the world than there is lavender essential oil to supply them. What does that mean? It means that there is a LOT of synthetic fragrance out there posing as lavender. If it is synthetic and NOT plant based (like lavender essential oil is), it will not have the chemical constituents to interact with the brain in such a way as to help bring the brain into theta. Quality is the #1 focus when we talk essential oils. So read your labels and do your homework. Lastly, Lavandin IS NOT LAVENDER! Alright I'll put that topic to bed. Many do not enjoy lavender. If that is you, I recommend Cedarwood or Black Spruce essential oils. **Inhaling essential oils before practicing hypnosis is not obligatory, however it will help deepen the practice.** So, go ahead and start inhaling your oils and bringing your focus and awareness to your breath…Because you are about to sleep like a baby. Are you ready?!
Anna Krishtal sat down next to a hypnotherapist one day and ended up trying hypnosis. She was mainly interested in "brain hacks" or "biohacking" because she, like many in corporate America, wanted to be as productive as possible. "I felt like my brain was betraying me." Even though at that time, it felt like her world was falling apart at the seams (mercury poisoning, stress from job, confusion about where to live, what to do, etc) she ended up hiring a hypnotherapist... but not for what you'd think. She hired a high ticket hypnotherapist to work on weight loss. She had this limiting belief story looping in her head that said, "If my body looks a certain way, everything else will fall into place." It took her a while to realize that she was buying into the narrative that her existence would be validated by external circumstances. "what is the price I'm willing to pay to be accepted by society?" She realized that it was time for a change - and that change needed to happen at the subconscious level. So she started listening to the voice of subconscious as it spoke in the "next smallest steps" which eventually brought her into a place of deep, radical acceptance in her body as it is right now. Now, Anna believes that our lives are meant to be a unique expression of our authenticity and that journey begins with deep acceptance [of the body]. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Anna Krishtal is an Integrative Hypnotherapist that works to help people befriend their mind and body. Having had the experience of hypnosis completely transforming her life, she is continuously humbled to see the many ways it can help others. In her work, she finds that all change starts with accepting, and loving both the mind and body as it is, regardless of societal norms or expectations. Our lives are meant to be a unique expression of our authenticity, and that starts with deep acceptance for our uniqueness in thinking and being. Has this ever happened to you? You were in so much pain, discomfort, stress or in such a dire state that you said something like, “I will do ANYTHING to feel better.” That's exactly what happened to Sheryne (who healed herself from 5 autoimmune diseases and overcame a cancer scare). The truth is: she was able to manage her physical symptoms UNTIL she got stressed and hit with a big wave of grief… and then it wasn't manageable anymore. She broke down and said, “there HAS to be another WAY!" Sheryne did a lot of alternative therapies, however, it wasn't until she dealt with her "emotional baggage" on an unconscious level (the things she wasn't aware of) that she trained her mind to heal her body! Have you ever felt that way?! -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ So she tried EVERYTHING (every diet, juice, cleanse, supplement) - even going to see a woman who practiced BioEnergetics & Hypnotherapy - and that is what made Sheryne believe in the power of hypnosis, conscious language, and the connection between body, mind and spirit. And I wonder if her story will make YOU a believer, too. I love this conversation because we talk about the benefits one can receive by acknowledging emotional “baggage” at the subconscious level. It took Laurnie Wilson two years to realize that her breakup had many early elements of queer intimate partner violence (emotionally/psychologically). When this realization finally hit, she ended up using hypnosis to go back to see the red flags she missed and better understand how to create healthy boundaries, in all aspects of her life. Through sharing our stories, Laurnie's hope is that everyone else can “write” their own "story" in a way that's exciting. Today, she shows up excited to talk about a past breakup. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_- But before we jump into her story, I want to acknowledge that often times when stories of emotional abuse or gaslighting are shared via movies or TV, they are more often than note through the lens of a heterosexual relationship. So I wonder, how does it feel to be a member of the LGBTQ community and go through an abusive relationship? Would you feel more inclined to say “it's my fault!” because there aren't a lot of relatable stories being shared? Today, Laurnie is brave and courageous enough to share her story with us today and how a hypnosis session focused on identifying red flags helped heal her past abusive relationship. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_- In a hypnosis session, she regressed back to the “first red flags” of her previous romantic relationship to learn that after ignoring that first red flag, her mind figured it was OK to ignore the rest of the red flags that came after it. In other words: Ignoring red flags has a domino effect. “That was so eye opening…. It's important to pay attention to the small moments.” You'll have to tune into the whole lesson to hear what the lessons is that she learned how to maintain healthy boundaries. “We are constantly re-creating ourselves with every yes or no that we choose.” We also talked a lot about Past Life Regressions (PLRs) and regressing into the past via hypnosis and discussed ideas like: What if you are scared of going back to the past? What happens if we don't address our fears, challenges and traumas? -_-_-_-_-_-_-_- The subconscious mind is a wild, wild place. Laurnie shares with us some experiences she has had regressing into past lives/life between lives (like regressing back to a very pregnant, unmarried woman of the 1700s!) and the lessons that came through for her (“I can do anything.) -_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Laurnie reminded us that, “We are deserving of living a life that feels good” because “no one brings trauma on themselves.” I wonder if we'd be able to “feel good” more often if we were more intentional with healthy boundaries? -_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Stay through to the end for a FREE HYPNOSIS that leaves you clear, clean and refreshed as you remember how wise & brave you truly are. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Laurnie Willson is a storyteller, a yoga teacher, an Ayurvedic practitioner and a hypnotherapist. Perhaps my most favorite thing ever is that Holly Anne Mitchell is known as "The Tony Robbins of Teeth." We'll get to that in a minute. But before Holly could step into the shoes (err, teeth?) of a 'Tony Robbins' persona, she looked to hypnosis for a very particular personal life challenge that she had her entire life. She first learned about hypnosis after meditating for the first time and receiving a clear message. She took that message and made some major life changes (ie ending an 8 year relationship & quitting her job due to the realization of burnout) and enrolled herself in a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) course. During her time studying NLP, she learned about hypnosis and the Ericksonian method and that is when she really got interested, because... Holly had a phobia of vomit (also known as emetophobia) and wanted to have children at some point in her life. In case you don't know much about children: they tend to vomit a lot. "I would faint if I saw a movie, if I was around someone, who's like, I don't feel well. Like my whole nervous system would just go." So Holly knew that before she went down the "start a family" route, she needed to take an inner journey to heal this vomit phobia. And she was cured of her phobia in one hypnosis session. "It was like someone opened a door. To a world that I didn't even know was there inside of me. And it was a world where I could change and feel and see and experience anything that I desired. And I just wanted to be a hypnotist. And that's how I got started." Holly and I also chatted about how shared past experiences as singers and how that has influenced and played a part in our roles as hypnotists and breath work enthusiasts. At a certain point, she started to pivot her "niche" to working with dentists specifically in the areas of nervous system, anxiety and pain management. "I'm teaching dentists how to talk to patients and present treatment...help them be more effective in communicating with their patients and making them feel safe." Holly believes that "words create worlds" and she shares her story (her world) with us so beautifully. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Stay tuned to the end for a FREE GUIDED HYPNOSIS MEDITATION that helps release dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin (those happy hormones that reduce our stress), helps reduce blood pressure and promotes immunity. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ NOTE: Holly can now add "TedX Speaker" to her list of accolades as she will speak at TEDxManitou Springs on September 25, 2021 _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Known as "The Tony Robbins of Teeth" Holly Anne Mitchell is the Founder and Chief Empathy Officer of the LeadWell Network, a certified hypnotist, keynote speaker, master practitioner in neurolinguistic programming, life and business coach in the dental industry. Are you willing to allow yourself to be receptive? This is a great practice for someone who is an analytical thinker! Often times analytical thinkers tend to think they can't be hypnotized… but I am here to tell you - you absolute can. Which is a perfect segue because… Today, our intention is to be open & receptive to new thoughts… specifically: thoughts that serve your highest and greatest good. ——————— I'd love to share an exciting announcement before we dive into that open and receptive mind of yours. I wonder if you can close your eyes and play a little imagination game with me: Imagine if... you set guilt-free boundaries because you know with confidence how you are designed to thrive you prioritize yourself and what you need to feel good you attract healthy relationships because you've healed your relationship with yourself you feel seen, felt and heard by a supportive community (and therefore offer that same support out to your community) you wake up with a zest for life, excited for each day! As some of you may know, I have joined forces with a life coach and human design expert to create a monthly membership community where we support you with deep, subconscious & transformative intention so that you can be the change and thrive as you are designed. It's called BE THE CHANGE - and July 1 is our INAUGURAL DAY! Our doors are OFFICIALLY open! Here's what you get in ‘Be the Change': Monthly intuitive theme dropped in the first week of the month Monthly affirmation(s) to add to your new or existing practices Journaling prompts to prepare the subconscious for weekly calls 3 monthly live calls based on monthly theme (one for hypnosis, coaching, & human design offering) - recorded for your convenience Aromatherapy consultation to take learnings deeper Authentic community connection Bonus Material to support you throughout the month And the GREAT news is: You can join at ANYTIME because all our live interactions are recorded and stored in our library. You have the option of paying monthly or getting a discount and paying for the annual membership The investment is small but the commitment to yourself is significant Visit www.IAMTHECHANGE.today to join a community of people who believe they are designed to thrive (not survive)! ——————— With that new idea in mind, let's get started on this thought upgrade session. In the same way that a VAMPIRE can't come into your house without being INVITED, we are putting out the INVITATION today and giving yourself permission to release old limiting beliefs and embrace some new, updated and positive thought patterns. We are calling in thoughts such as: I observe my life with loving eyes. I express myself freely. I release the past and choose to live in the joyful present. …just to give you an idea. So, are you willing to allow yourself to be receptive? I invite you to keep in mind that quote from Albert Einstein: “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” - Albert Einstein So if we want to up-level our lives, shift to a more positive mindset or simply try something new and different… that involves shifting our thinking. And that is most effectively done at the subconscious-level directly (hence why hypnosis works so well!) The choice is yours. At this point, plug in your headphones, get comfy cozy and allow yourself to simply be RECEPTIVE now. Remember, you can come back to listen to this as many times as you please to keep sending the messages deeper and deeper into that powerful subconscious mind of yours. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Mae Deevy is a Certified Hypnotherapist and Aromatherapist based in Austin, Texas who is passionate about the power of the subconscious mind. Tiff Zapico likes her “woo woo” with a side of science (i.e. neuroplasticity). She came from a “disadvantaged circumstance and poverty” with both parents being drug addicts and despite that, Tiff worked her way up to a highly successful position in New York City. And yet… she was feeling lost and confused. Even though she had an amazing job, a big part of her wasn't happy and wasn't sure what to do next. “I thought I was living my best life… but there was a part of me that wanted more… and a part of me that thought I wasn't worthy of more.” She realized that she had some deeply rooted beliefs that she wasn't safe, lovable, or worthy. That voice in her head was telling her awful stories, like: You don't deserve more You should be happy with what you have. It's good enough. So many would be grateful to have what you have. Why do you want more? The universe was whispering subtle hints, changes and red flags to her but Tiff preferred her old known route: IGNORE. BURY. MOVE ON. However, everything came to a head and she found herself in the “perfect storm.” Her work was in conflict. Her engagement ended. Her wedding was off. She was checked out of her own life and was seeking solace in food. She was eating unconsciously and had operated that way for so long because she didn't think she was worthy. "I deserve to prioritize me." -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- **IMPACTFUL ANNOUNCEMENT!** I have wonderful news for anyone who is: Curious about reconnecting w/ how designed to thrive has noticed a “negative mindset” & you're not sure how to get to a more positive one Interested in taking intentional action on a week-by-week basis for spiritual maintenance or just feel better Wants to be a part of a community alongside others who are doing JUST that. She experienced a powerful group hypnosis where she not only saw her dream life partner and a baby in her arms… but she actually felt that she was truly worthy of it. She was safe. It was real. “I was in awe … I just couldn't believe the power of the mind and how FREEING that was… to know it is possible and feel it in my bones!” She left that experience completely moved & in disbelief of the power of the mind! And she needed to know more. Faye Lawand grew up in conflict in Lebanon. As did her parents and her grandparents. It took her decades to understand that that unresolved conflict was stored in her body and causing physical, emotional, and mental pain. As time went on, Faye found herself constantly sick with respiratory infections, compounding depleting conditions, chronic knee pain, headaches, back…PTSD, anxiety, depression. Shortly after turning 40, she got diagnosed with some pre-cancerous cells. She arrived at a cross points and realized she could go one of two ways. Either she can: Continue on her current path (= predictable outcome) Carve out a new path for herself Because the truth is: Emotions (when not expressed) get locked in our nervous system and muscles in the body. Faye noted that for her, it was not surprising that with so much unresolved sadness, that it would show up in her lungs. “At some point, it has to show up…” Faye found that it is very challenging to be the way she wanted to be in life when she was experiencing chronic pain. It took her years to realize, “Our mind lives in our body.” “The mind is always speaking to us through the body.” In order to say alive, these stuck emotions need fuel - they need to be fed which takes energy. And so they feed off of us. This is why we feel tired, burnt out, & exhausted (vacuum law of prosperity). This is happening at a subconscious-level underneath the surface. You have to move the internal conflicts to make space for something else (aka whatever it is that we do want). “Just because you're not aware, doesn't mean that it's not happening.” Faye was looking for a solution that was: Easy Quick Natural; and Had no side-effects So she ruled out surgery, medications, therapy. Which is where hypnosis came into play. In her first hypnosis session, she was asked to go back to the source and she went back to when she was 5 years old fleeing Lebanon at 2am with her mother… You'll have to hear Faye tell the story for herself because it is remarkable. Even though she had a deep hypnotic experience, she said to her friend, “This is SO B.S.! How could anything that happened 35 years ago relate to my current state?!” But as we know, what we RESIST, PERSISTS. It took Faye some time to integrate what she experienced in her session and once she did, her transformation was significant. This podcast episode contains such a wealth of wisdom and information! Some things we discussed are: Pain is a communicator Our minds are sponges We feed ourselves with what is around us Are our [mental] stories truths? If your story is truth, great! And if not, then you now have an internal conflict. And when you have internal conflict, then you now have a choice: continue or change? -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Stay to the end for a FREE GUIDED PRACTICE to help you embody [psychologically and physiologically] a state of well-being. It is not enough to know that you are safe - it must be felt so that it can create a shift in your world. When you open your eyes, you will see the world through a new lens, feeling so well, balanced and better than you've felt all week. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Faye Lawand is an Internal Conflict Resolution Expert, Stress Elimination Specialist, Relaxation Coach, International Speaker, World-Class Trainer, Global Citizen and Founder of The 7-R Formula For Rapid Transformation. What is a limiting belief?: "I'm just never going to get better." That is what Jen Oliver used to think. It was a story loop in her head that played over and over. Have you ever had a thought like that? And now Jen's story is "I'm always here to grow... I know I'll be ok." Those are two very different stories. -_-_-_-_-_-_- Jen Oliver escaped from the matrix (aka corporate America) nearly two decades ago when she moved from the California tech world to Costa Rica. She was: experiencing corporate burn out; feeling anxiousness and depression; and using alcohol as a social lubricant. She felt like a caged animal and just wanted to run away. "Now I run to myself... I run to that deep inner knowing" that she believes is the subconscious mind. -_-_-_-_-_-_- Before we dive deep into the rest of the episode, I have to call out that: Jen Oliver is the reason this podcast exists! If you have listened to Episode 1 (outlining Mae Deevy's first-time experience with hypnosis), then you are aware of how impactful Jen's work is! She was my hypnotherapist and she helped me see how powerful the mind is and that nothing was "wrong with me" as I had previously thought. She helped me experience a depth of my subconscious that I didn't know was possible... and therefore her and I are very connected. I always experience synchronicities when I am around Jen! -_-_-_-_-_-_- Jen has explored numerous methods of personal transformation and growth, but found none as powerful and effective in creating actual daily life changes, as she experienced with hypnotherapy. Personally, Jen has used hypnosis for: managing anxiety & depressive feelings supporting insomnia promoting her sobriety & recovery, and being able to deal with the stress of building a house in a foreign country! -_-_-_-_-_-_- But what is the difference between meditation and hypnosis? Jen explained: Meditation clears everything out and access a clear state Hypnosis clears the old, less-than-resourceful programming and builds back in the useful resourceful programming -_-_-_-_-_-_- Jen's first experience with hypnosis was from listening to recordings online and had such a huge shift that she leaped right into a training to learn how to "do" hypnosis. For many, the one-on-one hypnosis sessions bring such significant change... So what happened once she had her first tailored, private hypnosis session? -_-_-_-_-_-_- Like many of us, Jen practiced meditation, had a life coach for 3 years and went to 4-5 years of traditional talk therapy... and from all that, she saw an awareness of her issues through that work... ...but after listening to hypnosis recordings and one in-person weekend (from one of her hypnosis trainings) where she received multiple hypnotherapy sessions, she said: "I had more transformation in those few days than I had in my whole life." -_-_-_-_-_-_- If we know anything about the healing process, it is one thing to be in a bubble and do the healing (like to heal at a retreat, for example away from home)... but it is another thing to step back out into the trigger environments or relationships and see how (or if) yours reactions shift. Jen explained that her biggest shift was flying to NYC to work a hypnosis event table at OzzFest Festival in Central Park and absolutely nailing it! (Because if you have ever been to Costa Rica or Central Park... then you know that these are two very different environments!) That to her was validation of how far she had come because she was able to maintain her mindset and attitude even in the craziness of New York City. -_-_-_-_-_-_- How is it possible? According to a study shared in American Health Magazine, researchers found there was a: 38% recovery rate after 600 psychoanalysis sessions (which is about 10 years of talk therapy) 93% recovery rate after 6 hypnosis sessions* (*Source: Barrios, Alfred A. “Hypnotherapy A Reappraisal,” Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice) -_-_-_-_-_-_- "I want life to get even better - and it is! - it keeps getting better." -_-_-_-_-_-_- FREE HYPNOSIS: stay through to the end for a beautiful embodiment hypnosis practice cultivating helpful, useful, positive resources -_-_-_-_-_-_- Jen Oliver works remotely with hundreds of clients from all around the globe and finds the similarities fascinating. She says, "our personal stories may be different, yet our deep embodied desire to love and be loved is Universal." Jen believes that with this loving, compassionate approach to transformation, everything is possible! _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Connect and Work with Jen: https://divinexpression.net/ E-mail: dolphindancer24@yahoo.com Purchase some of her hypnosis recordings: https://divinexpression.net/shop/hypnotherapy-recordings/ _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Want to work with Mae?: http://www.maedeevy.com Join Mae's "Be the Change" Community: http://www.IamtheChange.Today Connect on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/storiesfromthesubconsciouspodcast Connect with us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stories.from.the.subconscious/
We recently conducted a survey on Instagram and asked people wha their current state was versus how they would like to feel. This likely will come to no surprise to you but these were some responses: Current State: anxious, overwhelm, stress, frustration Desired State: peace, relaxation, grounded It is said that those who live in more densely wooded areas report better health data than those who live in more urban areas. Being close to nature can help us to alter our brain waves (hello, theta!!!), slow down our heart beats and lower our blood pressure. In other words: we activate our parasympathetic nervous system and shut down the "fight or flight" response. Doctors back in the day used to prescribe "sea air" to those who were experiencing depression. We know sea air contains negative ions and that it just feels healing to breath it in! We know that trees: produce oxygen and clean carbon dioxide improve air quality are a source of medicine are a source or protection Trees have loooonnngggg been a symbol for strength, rebirth, renewal, protection, wisdom, and peace... ...so remind me why we continue to be heads down in our phones all the time?! It is my belief that we need to be reminded of the power and beauty of nature or else we will continue to be sucked into our cellphones and laptops (where we know that doesn't bring us much good!) Knowing that we don't always have access to nature, luckily we can go there in our minds! And our mind knows no difference between what's imagined and what's real so today I invite you to get creative. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE HYPNOSIS MEDITATION Plug into your headphones, get comfortable, relax wherever you are and give yourself that time to simply listen. No previous experience is necessary. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ THE HYPNOSIS Today's hypnosis meditation is simple: the more we connect with nature, the better we feel and the better we feel, the more we connect with nature. You are invited to take ~20 minutes to plug into relaxation via a sense of grounding and peace. The hypnosis begins around the 14:50 mark. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ ACCOMPANIED ESSENTIAL OIL Black Spruce was used by the Lakota Native Americans to strengthen their connection to the Great Spirit. What does it look like to reclaim yourself? Maggie Saunders shares her story. Today's episode is truly BEAUTIFUL and unfolds so naturally. Maggie joins us for Episode 14 to talk about how she went from feeling like she was "broken" and needed to be "fixed" to now holding space for other women to reclaim their sovereignty and heal. Because that has been a big part of her story. What does that involve? Forgiveness Radical Acceptance And shifting the narrative at the subconscious level. For Maggie, hypnosis played a big role in that. Is it possible that we are constantly being "hypnotized" by the beauty industry to feel like we need external solutions for our internal feelings? We talk a lot about women and expectations: we are constantly being told what to wear and how to show up... what if that narrative wasn't there? "I looked in the mirror to make sure my flaws were still there so that I could keep hiding them." Our conversation tied in many beautiful (and unexpected) topics! In addition, we discussed: our experiences with [ayahuasca] plant medicine (and the similarities between that and hypnosis) how the "no mirror" challenge helped Maggie take a step back from "fixing her face" or fixing herself up with whatever we are told a women needs to be "beautiful" going with the flow (tried to record this podcast episode 2 times before and something got in the way each time!) “We are not broken as we are. There is nothing to prove.” The truth is: No one was broken. No one's broken. We're not born broken. As a woman, “you're supposed to be super relaxed and free and confident in your body… but don't let it go. Don't age too quickly. Make sure you're eating just right… “Am I supposed to be easy breezy or am I supposed to be perfect? So we tell women everything. So they always lose.” It comes down to intention because as Maggie says, "there is more in us." -_-_-_-_-_-_- Stay through to the end for Maggie's hypnosis where she guides us through celebrating the good and letting go of the "less good." *TRIGGER WARNING* This episode contains brief conversation on rape and sexual trauma. Morgan likes radical honesty. She asks, "Are you living the epic life of the woman you were created to be? ...Or are you living the too-small life of the woman you were conditioned to be?" Without the language to process, she embodied a rape at 15 and took on the story “you are bad” which rooted itself in her psyche. “Shame is not my identity. It is not who I am.” The roots of shame grew branches and trunks in the form of beliefs that Morgan said dictated, “who I am and what's possible as a woman and that's what I had to get to the root of and free myself from.” It manifested as: Chronic Depression No desire to move To motivation for her life Overwhelmed with exhaustion …just thinking about being the woman of her dreams sent her into lethargy (I'll just sleep until I die!) - it was too overwhelming to make the leap from chronic depression to a free woman. The truth is: we store so much of our wounds in our body and getting free from that was a “homecoming” to her body. That is why she has such an interest in the concept of embodiment. The old belief was that she was bad and her body was a part of the problem. But if her body was a part of the problem, what could possibly be the solution? Her body isn't going anywhere! What if we just disconnect? Wouldn't that be easier? Often times, we don't want to be where the pain happens and so we disconnect from the source of the pain: the body. Now, Morgan realizes that she is separate from her body. “I think therefore I am.” It's been a journey from the head (consciousness) down through the honey pot (the body aka the subconscious). She used to think “I could get there from the mind alone” but she soon realized that she needed to heal her gaze and heal her relationship with her body (and the embodiment of her feelings) in order to really step into her power. Now, she believes in the possibility that all women everywhere can be reconciled with their own wholeness and brought back into their power by their own resources. Her greatest desire is to bring light to dark places and help women heal their own gaze and expand their capacity to love and be loved (...AND make A LOT of money!) _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Morgan shares with us a few interesting Past Life Regression hypnosis (PLR) experiences and the learnings she took from them. While she had interesting learnings from these experiences, she reminds us that we don't want to get lost in the past - we want to focus on the future. -_-_-_-_-_-_- Morgan Day Cecil has a Master's Degree in Philosophy and has spent 20-years training in mind-body-spirit methodologies for healing and transformation, including deep feminine psychology, breath work, tantric studies, trauma-release embodiment practices, hypnotherapy, nature-based wisdom schools and perennial spiritual disciplines, including contemplative Christianity. Morgan is the creator of the Feminine Wholeness Method ™ teaching women the technology of delight to wake from the old identity-trances and boldly embody their unique and brilliant soul. Often times, people who consider themselves analytical are the ones who believe “I can't be hypnotized.” One aspect about Joan's story is she tosses that theory right out the window. As a self-proclaimed analytical person, Joan will also be the first to tell you that she is in love with hypnosis. Who can blame her? Anything that makes someone say, “I feel strong! I feel amazing. I'm happy and I'm excited about life!” is worth falling in love with. This is how Joan describes her state of happiness she has via hypnosis. Flying high Levitating Floating on air But she didn't always feel excited about life. For years, Joan felt like she had to hide herself. It felt like something was missing but she didn't know what. Joan had always thought, “There is something missing,” but never was able to put her finger on it. She had been a physical therapist for 20 years focused on the geriatric population and their healing. However, Joan arrived at a point where it was difficult for her to continue her work in the physical therapy work due to her on health challenges: liposarcoma caused her to lose full function of her right arm. She needed a new plan. “How did I become this person? Because this is not the person I want to be.” After a family member started talking to her about hypnosis, Joan knew that this was what was missing - without even ever having experienced it! “It was a feeling, I knew it was for me.” Her first hypnosis session was amazing. “It was so relaxing, calming, and allowed me to understand exactly what I was missing in my life.” “I wish I had it when I was raising my children!” -_-_-_-_-_-_-_- All the hypnosis sessions she has received have been unfolding the story of how to improve her wellbeing. She joked that she used to have SEASONAL DEPRESSION but now she has “SEASONAL HAPPINESS!” The biggest gift she has received is that hypnosis has “given me nature” to see what we really are all about. She now feels that happiness is a right (not a privilege) and our role on this earth is to make the best out of who we are and how we interact with those around us (people, trees, birds, environment) “It's amazing what problems you can solve when you allow your intuition to guide you.” _-_-_-_-_-_-_ Joan shares a success story from her work with one of her clients:For this client, they were told they needed exercise by their doctor. However, the thought of exercising was associated deeply with pain and motivation. Joan was able to guide her through a hypnosis session where she was able to see, feel, and experience running. Physically in the session, Joan could tell that she was running as her body was physically responding to the IDEA or the THOUGHT of running. She was able to start running and loving it! _-_-_-_-_-_-_ Make sure to stay til the end for a FREE relaxing ~10 minute HYPNOSIS that guides you to a calm, beautiful place in nature where you can welcome in peace, calm, and happiness. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Visit Joan's Website: https://joanhypnosis.com Connect with Joan on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PCHJoan Connect with Joan on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/joanhypnosis/ _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Work with Mae: http://www.maedeevy.com Connect on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/storiesfromthesubconsciouspodcast Connect on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stories.from.the.subconscious/
This month's hypnosis episode is focusing on PURPOSE. Many people associate PURPOSE with FULFILLMENT, JOY, PRIDE and many other things. Whereas a lack of purpose can often times be identified as feeling LOST, BORED, COMPLACENT, or STUCK. And while generations of the past had some very different definitions of what “purpose” looked like, today the conversation tends to revolve around: contribution & authenticity. For many of us, it is a process to FIND purpose in our lives... and often times that means seeking outside of one's profession (unless your profession provides that purpose for you, but not everyone can say that!) It may bring one to ask the question: If my job doesn't provide me that feeling of fulfillment and purpose and my extra-curricular "weekend" activities ALSO don't provide me that fulfillment & purpose… then... what am I doing? Because the truth is: when we DON'T have fulfillment in our lives, it can be an empty feeling. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_- THE HYPNOSIS: We have good news! Because today's episode features a beautiful, deep, guided hypnosis that invites you to really outline what is "right" for you. It is inspired by the work of Dr. Richard K. Nongard, one of the most respected writers and trainers in professional hypnosis, mindfulness meditation, and psychotherapy. Sometimes asking ourselves, "what's my purpose?!" can be a really big question to ask! And today's mental exercise is about aligning with what is right for you. You don't need to prepare anything... just sit down, relax, plug some headphones in, and close your eyes (closing the eyes helps to eliminate distractions, don't you agree?!) -_-_-_-_-_-_-_- QUESTION: If the YOU of today could give even just ONE piece of advice to the YOU from 1 year ago, 5 years ago or 10 years ago, what would they say? -_-_-_-_-_-_-_- *EXCITING NEWS!* Mae also made an EXCITING announcement that she is a part of a trio of light workers who are launching a community program called "Be the Change" to support healing, change and transformation in an affordable, supportive space. Be the Change honors how you were designed to step into the best version of yourself. In 2015, Caitlin was afraid that she was dying. She was overwhelmed with stress, anxiety and panic attacks. She was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and per her doctor's recommendation she tried to regulate her hormones and cycle with birth control. However, she started to experience nightmares (while she was awake) and it was terrifying. Through Gabby Bernstein, she discovered “A Course in Miracles” which helped slow her life down a bit to get through the fear. At a certain point, Caitlin tuned into a podcast that featured hypnosis which convinced her that she had just found her calling without even having experienced it for herself. She had goosebumps for hours as she slowly realized, “this is my life now.” Her first hypnosis experience she described as “beautiful.” She met with her physical self, emotional self, intellectual self, and spiritual self (one of whom gave her a beautiful gift which she came across in “real life” one week later - tune in to hear that amazing synchronicity!!) It was through this experience that she realized, “having a guide makes all the difference.” Caitlin decided that being consumed with fear wasn't for her anymore and she decided that she wants to fully live. And while her most challenging points weren't laughable, looking back Caitlin is now able to have a playful perspective and even laugh at her own past hardships because “it's just not that big of a deal.” How does she know when she is fully living? When she feels this “rising from within” - the same way she felt as a child… like being lifted from within. And that makes everything that once felt impossible feel possible. What more could one ask for? -_-_-_-_-_-_- Have you ever written or said something and realized that it no longer sounded like “you” anymore? Like perhaps you were trying to impress someone or come off as someone specific? Caitlin says, “If it feels hard and bad then yes, there is some ‘work' to be done there,” like starting with the questions: Is this me? Does this sound like myself? Do I sound like someone else? Caitlin describes her hypnosis work with her copy clients as a process of finding that clear, authentic, unblocked state to then discuss business goals in relation to your marketing copy. -_-_-_-_-_-_- “Everyone is here for a reason and it is a miracle that you are living and walking this earth. And so telling whatever story that you have is so vital, special and getting it right where it feels authentic for you is just so powerful.” - Caitlin Shea McCoy -_-_-_-_-_-_- Now (thanks to her personal hypnotherapy practice), Caitlin re-opened her creative writing passageways and has things coming through that she didn't know were possible for her. She went on to say, “I want more than anything that presence is something I leave behind… whether taken in through words or not.” As they discussed the idea of leaving behind a legacy, Caitlin and Mae touch upon the idea of death and eulogies. Even though words have played such a big role in Caitlin's life, she said, “I want to be remembered as someone underneath all the words and stories…” Know that it is possible to leave this episode feeling calm, cared for, and creative! How do you know when you feel present? How does that manifest in the body or mind for you? Stay tuned through to the end for a FREE hypnosis offering to uncover your true authentic words. Maybe you're writing a book, drafting an Instagram caption or just sharing words with friends? This is a hypnosis to bring forward that true authentic voice from within. Please, continue to share these episodes with friends or family members and come back to they hypnosis recordings at any time! The more you practice, the deeper you go and the longer the results last. In your "MindZai", imagine someone who helps people change their behaviors, habits, and patterns. Now, meet Jason Tollen. Once upon a time, Jason was desperate for change. He had no idea how but he knew he didn't want to keep living the way he'd been living and he knew he needed support. Have you ever had an experience where it felt like you were treading water but not really going anywhere? “I don't think I can figure it out on my own anymore.” Growing up, Jason grew up without strong communication in the home. As a result, he bottled up his feelings because he just wasn't aware of how to deal. He experienced some depressive states and acknowledged that he wasn't living a life he wanted to live. In his 30s, Jason slowly realized, “this isn't so great” (because his heart wasn't “in it”) and so he got serious about feeling better. He was living the life of “Person B” which he described as someone who: beats themselves up really critical inside not confident doesn't feel like they were doing a good job but he wanted to live a life like “Person A”: happy responsible does activities they enjoy makes a good living. He had a moment where he said, “I don't want to keep living the way I've been living.” He wanted to live more like "Person A." He wanted to live a life that felt good. Makes sense, doesn't it? But how does one do that? How does one change? Jason started to read self-help books and get into present moment awareness. And he learned that he could communicate with his unconscious (or subconscious) mind. This eventually brought him to try hypnosis which was a pleasantly surprising experience for him! “How have I made it this far in life and no one told me about this?!” What happened next? Well, you'll have to tune in. “Wisdom sometimes is a meal better shared.” - Jason Tollen _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ At the end of this episode, Jason leads us through a FREE relaxing, hypnotic visualization exercise that helps you to notice your body, increase your state of awareness and step into the present moment. As a high performer and accomplished Sports Reporter, Tricia Fishbune worked really hard to get where she was. As a woman in a male-dominated field, she often thought to herself, “I need to prove myself!” How many of us have ever had that thought?! TRICIA'S OLD STORY: Happiness + Fulfillment = Achievement As we'll hear in Tricia's episode, some of her beliefs were actually conflicting and causing internal turmoil. One part of her said: I need to be successful! And then other part of her said: I'm not worthy of success, happiness, wealth or love UNLESS I: look prettier look thinner am more charismatic am smarter have more qualifications work harder please other people How can these two parts coincide? Well the truth is: they can't, really. They were in conflict. And if you know anything about conflict, you know it it is exhausting! And Tricia was exhausted. She eventually hit her rock bottom. She had worked so hard to get her successes as a sports journalist - and now what?! She should just “give up?!” on something she worked for hard for!? Even if it wasn't what she hoped it would be? That's not what “high performers” do!! …And then Tricia found hypnotherapy. As a self-described sceptic (and high performer), Tricia thought the concept of achieving something via relaxing was laughable. However, she stuck with it and eventually realized how impactful her shifts were. For a whole year, she listened to self-worth and confidence hypnotherapy recordings. “Once… my sense of self-worth grew and shifted, man! My whole reality and life changed in so many ways.” - Tricia Fishbune And as she continued to redefine her internal belief system on self-worth, she realized how self-worth was at the core of all of her outer circumstances. And what if her internal beliefs shifted? What if she opened herself up to boundaries and being more confident? What could be made possible? HER NEW STORY: Happiness + Fulfillment = Living in the Present Moment I am the CEO of my life. I trust myself. I know that I'm worthy. I am enough as I am. I choose to believe in the abundance all around us. Thoughts aren't always truth. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Have a spare minute? Am I going to be able to give my son a sibling? Is it me? It's too hard. Maybe this is it. All of these were "stories" playing inside Tanja's head as she struggled with infertility. One day, today's guest found herself crying on the floor, feeling devastated, frustrated and lost because within five years, she had had multiple miscarriages and a “Secondary Infertility” diagnosis (meaning infertility related to conceiving a 2nd child). While she already had one baby but she knew in her heart of hearts that she was destined to have a second child. She was told that she had less than 0.5% chance of conceiving and was almost ready to give up... until BY CHANCE (via a podcast!) she found hypnotherapy. You DON'T want to miss THIS story. We discuss things like: her first time experiencing regression hypnosis (she thought she knew what would bubble up, but the memory that surfaces was surprising!) the mind games of infertility treatments the "ticking time clock" that women face and how that (knowingly or unknowingly) impacts our mindset how self-hypnosis positively impacted her baby in utero (growth spurts!) Tanja Mulcahy is a Fertility Hypnotherapist (based in Melbourne, Australia) who utilizes regression therapy and Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) hypnotherapy to uncover the root cause of fertility and conception-related issues. She's out to inspire, educate and guide women to recognize the power of their Subconscious Mind that yields many insights into their infertility. THIS is Tanja's story. Hey, you! Curious to try hypnosis? Wonder what the experience might feel like? Perhaps you'd like to expand or deepen your mindfulness practice? Today we open ourselves to receive messages from the forest of the mind. Sounds pretty interesting, doesn't it? This episode is a free hypnosis session that anyone can do - no experience needed. All you need to do is sit or lie down somewhere comfortable where you can safely close the eyes and relax the body. Mae Deevy, Certified Hypnotherapist and Host of Stories from the Subconscious, takes some time at the beginning to set the stage about what to expect and explains why integrating aromatherapy (essential oils) and hypnotherapy is a deeper and longer lasting practice than just one or the other. For this episode, Mae chose Young Living's Frankincense (Boswellia carterii) because it is known to invite in elevated sacred and spiritual experiences through it's grounding, earthy aroma. After all, it comes from a tree - and what is more grounded than a tree? If you'd like to get your own oils, reach out to Mae and she can share her link with you. The actual hypnosis is for about ~20 minutes long so set aside that time to love, honor and enjoy yourself! You can even listen to it together with a friend or a family member. It feels good to share, wouldn't you agree?! Remember that since each one of us is unique, each one of our experiences will be unique as well. As the host of this podcast, Mae feels it is particularly important that she shows up in the same capacity as her guests: vulnerable, honest, willing to share... and maybe a little playful, too. In advance of this episode, Mae reached out to her friends and clients and asked them to imagine that if they were interviewing her, what questions would they would ask? And with those questions all written out on post-it notes, Mae goes through and answers them as she simultaneously weaves in her story of overcoming the idea that something was wrong with her simply because she "couldn't meditate": what her first hypnosis experience was like, what shifted for her, and how it made her feel. I wonder if you can relate? She answers such questions as: Can you make me quack like a duck when I hear a train whistle? What's been the craziest most eye opening experience you've had with hypnotherapy? What have you realized doing hypnotherapy that you wouldn't have without it? What is a session like? How does it FEEL? Mae also asked some college friends to join her for this episode to share what they think it is that she does - which ends up being a very fun conversation where everyone realizes they had a shared high school experience (which seems to have flavored a bit how we all define hypnosis). How interesting! Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Mae also expands on the "why" behind the making of this podcast (which basically ties the whole conversation together). Join Mae every Thursday as each new episode of Stories from the Subconscious is released where she interviews someone new to hear their story! Specifically, the first Thursday of each month, Mae will offer a solo hypnotherapy episode (check out Episode 6 to start!) where you can really experience what a hypnotherapy session looks and feels like. Do hypnotherapists use hypnosis in their personal lives? For James Hazlerig, the answer is yes. In fact, he was born into hypnosis (literally) and knew from a young child that it was real and powerful. During his college days, he wrestled with depression which was a period he described as, “a series of obstacles and fears and self-doubts,” he said. Hypnosis was one of the tools that he says helped him keep going in life. At a certain point, the idea of a “life script” shifted his perspective to consider how much of life is a story and what role our thoughts play in our well-being. Eventually, an unfulfilling job and a desire to help people pointed James back to what's been around him his whole life: the power of storytelling. James also shared a personal story of his use of hypnosis to help manage what his doctor referred to as “the mildest case of shingles I've ever seen!” Now what's his story? As a professional storyteller and hypnotherapist, James uses hypnotic principles to make things happen in his life by being hypnotic. And in regards to his business? “My clients come into my office telling themselves a story about themselves and they leave with a better story if I've done my job right.” Aren't you curious to hear his story?! Some Suggested Stories to Try On: The best kind of hypnosis clients are anxious clients. Identity is the story we tell ourselves about ourselves. Once we stop asking, “is this real?”, the subconscious mind accepts “it” as real. James Hazlerig holds a 250-hour certification from the International Hypnosis Federation, Advanced Certification from the International Certifying Board of Clinical Hypnotherapy, and a 750-hour certification from the Hypnosis Practitioner Training Institute, as well as a Masters Degree in English. In addition to hypnosis, he has enjoyed success as a college instructor, freelance writer, champion storyteller, published author, and professional musician. Stories from the Subconscious is a podcast about what ACTUALLY happens in hypnotherapy. Join Certified Hypnotherapist @maedeevy.cht as she interviews hypnotherapists to hear what THEIR first hypnosis experiences were like, what shifted for them and how that inspired them to then become hypnotherapists themselves. Because the truth is: we tell ourselves stories all day long. Some of them are supportive (“You got this!”) and some of them are not (“What do YOU know?!”). So, if we start to become aware of our storytelling capabilities, do we also become aware that we can shift the storytelling? Is it possible to influence stories from the subconscious mind?
