Steve Orlando – the mastermind behind DC Comics hits like Wonder Woman and Justice League of America – is bringing AEW into the DC Universe with the DC x AEW comic crossover! He breaks down the origin of this dream project, what it was like developing the story, and how AEW stars like Darby Allin, Swerve Strickland, Hangman Adam Page, Willow Nightingale, Toni Storm, Orange Cassidy, and Jon Moxley were chosen for the book. He also talks pairing Darby with Batman, and Toni Storm with Zatanna, in a dynamic that “writes itself.” Steve explains why comics and wrestling are “chocolate and peanut butter” storytelling, how moments like Mercedes Moné's shocking turn shaped the entire story, and why a Sting appearance was non-negotiable. He also shares how he got into wrestling, the comic that hooked him for life (West Coast Avengers #16), his decades-long grind to break into DC, and how the “Big Galactic Belt” drives the multiversal story. This week, Emily sits down with advisory teacher Rebecca Duffus, and neurodiversity advocate Lyric Rivera, to discuss the critical shift from viewing autism as a purely medical diagnosis to embracing it as a core identity. Lyric shares their personal journey of late discovery and the complex emotions that accompany it, from grief to validation. Rebecca provides some insight into the importance of authentic, affirming language. They also discuss how to empower autistic youth to advocate for their needs, navigate a world that isn't always accommodating, and ultimately discover the power of being exactly who they are. Rebecca and Lyric are co-authors of Autism, Identity and Me. TAKEAWAYS Identity vs pathology is all about framing autism as a core identity, rather than strictly a medical diagnosis or a list of deficits. Late-diagnosis autism often results in a complex cocktail of emotions, including grief, anger, and eventually relief. There is a crucial difference between forcing an upbeat perspective, and using language that genuinely validates an autistic person's lived experience. Equipping, not just protecting, will help autistic kids understand neurodiversity, handle misunderstandings, and utilize an autism identity statement for self-advocacy. There is a shifting landscape of autism support, language, and systemic challenges in the US, especially compared to the UK. Mental health professionals, join us for our next live 90-minute CE training, Inherited Neurodivergence: Supporting Parents' Identity Journeys, featuring presenter, Dr. Amy Marschall. The event is Friday, March 6 at 2:00 pm Eastern/11:00 am Pacific. It's approved for continuing education through the American Psychological Association and the National Board of Certified Counselors. If you can't make it live, you can still register for the self-study version. Rebecca Duffus, BSc, PGCE, MA, is an experienced Advisory Teacher with a background in psychology and a master's in Autism and Education. Based in the UK, she has worked across mainstream and specialist education settings, as well as with local councils, charities, and educational services to support autistic students and the professionals who serve them. Rebecca is the author of Autism, Identity & Me, a workbook and guidebook set published by Routledge in both the U.S. and the UK. She regularly speaks at conferences, develops parent programmes, and provides training and coaching for educators and schools. Her work centers on supporting identity-affirming practices and building inclusive, informed environments for neurodivergent learners. Lyric Rivera is the founder of NeuroDivergent Consulting and the author of the best-selling business ethics book Workplace Neurodiversity Rising, praised by Forbes as "an excellent 'how-to manual' based on lived experience and professional competence," and named a "Trend for 2023." A prominent voice in the neurodiversity movement, Lyric is also the creator of the popular blog NeuroDivergent Rebel and the originator of the #AskingAutistics hashtag, which has sparked wide-reaching conversations about the Autistic experience. Through their writing, consulting, and online advocacy, Lyric helps organizations and individuals build more inclusive, neurodiversity-affirming environments. Their work fosters connection and understanding across communities and empowers neurodivergent people to be heard, supported, and celebrated. Pack your raincoat and your flannel, we're heading to Grays Harbor in Washington, the salty gateway to the Pacific and the misty doorstep of the Olympic Peninsula. The most notable town on Grays Harbor is Aberdeen, hometown of Kurt Cobain. The town leans into its legacy with a welcome sign that reads “Come As You Are,” a nod to the iconic Nirvana anthem. Nearby, a humble highway sign became rock folklore and was eventually relocated due to its popularity with fans. But Grays Harbor is more than grunge nostalgia. The stately Polson Museum, a 1924 riverfront mansion built by the Polson Logging Company family, houses antiques and logging relics that some visitors swear carry more than just dust. The museum gift shop shelves true crime tales like Deep in the Woods about the 1935 kidnapping of George Weyerhaeuser, and The Port of Missing Men, which recounts the chilling legend of sailor turned union man Billy Gohl.Dubbed the “Ghoul of Grays Harbor,” Billy Gohl was accused of murdering dozens of sailors in the early 1900s, allegedly stealing their valuables and dumping their bodies into the harbor. Convicted of only two murders, he died in prison, but debate still churns like gray water. Was he a serial killer responsible for up to 100 deaths, or a convenient scapegoat for powerful men threatened by his labor activism? His legend lingers at his namesake — Billy's Bar & Grill. The harbor's ghostly roll call does not end on land. The Lady Washington, a 1989 replica of the first American vessel to make landfall in the Pacific Northwest in 1788 under Captain Robert Gray, sails as a floating tribute to maritime history. Many believe old sea spirits are drawn out wherever the ship sails into port!Visit our website! Find us on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Patreon, & more! A “how did we miss that?” moment so loud you can hear it across the Pacific. We dig into what was found, why it's so weird, and what it might mean when climate and changing conditions start revealing secrets that have been marinating underground for centuries. Then we pivot hard into the unsettling: the case of Dr. George Kenney, a Florida high school principal who hypnotized students, and the haunting controversy that followed after three teens died in 2011 after undergoing hypnosis sessions. We walk through what happened, what investigators and lawsuits focused on, and why this story keeps resurfacing as one of the strangest true crime-adjacent headline spirals in recent memory. In this episode of Language on the Move Podcast, Tazin Abdullah talks to Dr. Laura Rademaker (Australian National University), the author of Found in Translation: Many Meanings on a North Australian Mission. The conversation explores the distinctive historical context of Australia's Northern Territory as a location for Christian missionary activity. Tazin and Laura talk about the multiple tensions and elements involved in language interactions between monolingual English-speaking missionaries and multilingual Indigenous communities, against the background of settler colonialism. Found in Translation: Many Meanings on a North Australian Mission was published by University of Hawai'i Press in 2018. About the book Found in Translation is a rich account of language and shifting cross-cultural relations on a Christian mission in northern Australia during the mid-twentieth century. It explores how translation shaped interactions between missionaries and the Anindilyakwa-speaking people of the Groote Eylandt archipelago and how each group used language to influence, evade, or engage with the other in a series of selective “mistranslations.” In particular, this work traces the Angurugu mission from its establishment by the Church Missionary Society in 1943, through Australia's era of assimilation policy in the 1950s and 1960s, to the introduction of a self-determination policy and bilingual education in 1973. While translation has typically been an instrument of colonization, this book shows that the ambiguities it creates have given Indigenous people opportunities to reinterpret colonization's position in their lives. Laura Rademaker combines oral history interviews with careful archival research and innovative interdisciplinary findings to present a fresh, cross-cultural perspective on Angurugu mission life. Exploring spoken language and sound, the translation of Christian scripture and songs, the imposition of English literacy, and Aboriginal singing traditions, she reveals the complexities of the encounters between the missionaries and Aboriginal people in a subtle and sophisticated analysis. Rademaker uses language as a lens, delving into issues of identity and the competition to name, own, and control. In its efforts to shape the Anindilyakwa people's beliefs, the Church Missionary Society utilized language both by teaching English and by translating Biblical texts into the native tongue. Yet missionaries relied heavily on Anindilyakwa interpreters, whose varied translation styles and choices resulted in an unforeseen Indigenous impact on how the mission's messages were received. From Groote Eylandt and the peculiarities of the Australian settler-colonial context, Found in Translation broadens its scope to cast light on themes common throughout Pacific mission history such as assimilation policies, cultural exchanges, and the phenomenon of colonization itself. This book will appeal to Indigenous studies scholars across the Pacific as well as scholars of Australian history, religion, linguistics, anthropology, and missiology. Tonight's episode is something different. Over the past several months, Brian's inbox has been filling up with emails from listeners and first-time visitors to the show, people who've been holding onto experiences they've never fully shared with anyone. This episode brings six of those accounts together in one sitting, read in the witnesses' own words, spanning six decades and six different regions of the country. The collection opens with Danny, a lifelong hunter on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, who in 1978 came face to face with something standing motionless in the old growth timber during a solo elk hunt. From there we move to the swamps and spring runs of central Florida, where Rachel and her boyfriend encountered something massive outside their tent during an overnight canoe trip through the Ocala National Forest in 1996, and then saw it again on the river as they tried to escape.Marcus takes us to the coal country of Mingo County, West Virginia, where a nineteen year old walking home from the mines on a frozen February night in 1983 realized that something on the hillside above him wasn't just following him but was flanking him in the dark. Linda's account pulls us north to Minnesota's Boundary Waters in 2004, where a veteran wilderness guide and her co-guide watched something wade across open water in the moonlight and come ashore on the small island where their clients were sleeping.Travis writes from the Piney Woods of East Texas, where something took up residence on his forty acre property in 2017 and made its presence known through broken trees, massive tracks in creek mud, disturbing vocalizations, and two visual encounters that changed the way he and his wife think about the land they live on.The episode closes with Gene, now eighty four years old, finally putting into writing what happened to him and his logging crew in the remote mountains of Siskiyou County, California in the summer of 1962, an experience he's carried in silence for over six decades.

Music and singing weave through everyday life across the Pacific, shaping our stories, celebrations and connections. We're constantly hearing of geopolitical tensions raring their heads across the world, with talks of ‘great powers' flexing their dominance - commercially, economically, militarily - brazenly. One arena of such confrontation is the Pacific. But when we discuss this region, are we sidelining the peoples and nations who actually live there? Recently, the Associate Dean Pacific at Auckland's Law School, Professor Guy Fiti Sinclair, hosted a workshop foregrounding Pacific-centred understandings of how the Pacific is contending with international law and governance amidst these tensions. So how should we think of the Pacific as a region? Who are the organisations representing the ‘blue continent', and is Aotearoa New Zealand a facilitator of Pacific interests, or just our own? Producer Theo spoke with Professor Guy Sinclair to understand more.

By popular demand, the 15-Minute History team is re-airing one of our most popular episodes. This originally aired on April 8th, 2019. New episode next Monday, March 2nd. ____The name “Enterprise” is not exclusive to fictional starships or the space shuttle; in fact, nineteen ships of the British Royal Navy and nine of the United States Navy have born the name (spelled either with an S or a Z). Undoubtedly, the most famous USS Enterprise is the World War Two-era aircraft carrier, which fought in more battles in the Pacific War than any other vessel, earned twenty battle stars, and is today the most decorated ship in American naval history. “The Big E,” (first of her many nicknames) was commissioned in May 1938 and attached to the Atlantic fleet for her first year of service. As tensions rose with Japan and the Navy Department realized the importance of aircraft carriers in the Pacific, the Enterprise was transferred to the Pacific Fleet and based first at San Diego and then at Pearl Harbor.Join us as we teach you about the most decorated ship in the history of the US Navy, the USS Enterprise. We talk about her history, engagements, and why she was called, The Grey Ghost. When it comes to the United States Navy, names carry with them the legends of those ships which came before, and history will surely not forget the name Enterprise.

In this Friday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, Bryan reacts to President Trump's eyebrow-raising comments about classified information and aliens, then pivots to a far more earthly threat as new reporting reveals U.S. taxpayer dollars helped fund research collaborations with Chinese military-linked institutions. Bryan also breaks down fresh evidence that China secretly conducted a nuclear test, why Greenland's missile defense position is critical to America's survival, and why Trump has issued a 10-day warning to Iran as U.S. carrier groups surge into the Middle East. He explains the stakes surrounding Diego Garcia, rising tensions with Mauritius, and the seizure of another sanctioned oil tanker in the Indian Ocean. The episode turns to political shockwaves in the United Kingdom and Washington following new Jeffrey Epstein revelations, including the arrest of Prince Andrew and congressional demands for CIA transparency. Bryan then covers the rapid collapse of so-called transgender medicine programs across major U.S. hospitals and closes with new Harvard research showing that spiritual practice significantly reduces substance abuse risk.   "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32     Keywords: February 20 2026 Wright Report, Trump aliens classified comment Obama, China academic research Pentagon funding, China secret nuclear test decoupling Kazakhstan, Greenland missile defense China ICBM North Pole, Trump 10 day Iran ultimatum carrier strike group, Diego Garcia Chagos Islands Mauritius dispute, Veronica III oil tanker seizure Venezuela, Prince Andrew arrest Epstein email dump, CIA William Burns Epstein questions, NYU Langone transgender clinic closure, Munchausen by proxy discussion, Harvard spirituality addiction study     Keywords: February 17 2026 Wright Report, California oil gas crisis refinery shutdown Phillips 66 Valero, Jones Act Bahamas Panama Canal fuel route, Pacific war fuel risk Taiwan Xi Jinping, Gavin Newsom Munich Europe speech Trump, Marco Rubio Western civilization decline speech, California transgender secrecy law parental rights lawsuit, Linda McMahon education funding threat, OpenClaw AI agent attack Scott Shambaugh, Amanda Askell Anthropic philosopher Claude, AI Oracle morality debate Silicon Valley
