Unweit vom Kap Arkona findet man das jungsteinzeitliche Grosssteingrab Nobbin, eines der größten in ganz Norddeutschland. Vor einigen Jahren sorgte der Fund eines großen Silberschatzes auf Rügen für Furore, ein Schatz, der dem legendären Wikingerkönig Harald Blauzahn zugeordnet wurde. In diesem Sommer machte ein weiterer Schatz deutschlandweit Schlagzeilen, ein Goldschatz, den ein Fossiliensammler aus Sachsen am Strand gefunden hat. On this day in history, in 1787, the Congress of the Confederation, the body operating under the Articles of Confederation and precursor to the United States Congress, passed the Northwest Ordinance. The Northwest Ordinance, officially titled "An Ordinance for the Government of the Territory of the United States, North-West of the River Ohio," was an act passed by the Confederation Congress of the United States on July 13, 1787. This legislative act created a structured process for territories to evolve into states, outlining the path from political wilderness to full statehood. The ordinance addressed the territories that had been obtained from Great Britain after the Revolutionary War through the 1783 Treaty of Paris, namely the region north of the Ohio River, east of the Mississippi River, and south of the Great Lakes.On July 13, 1787, the Confederation Congress established this ordinance which served as a prototype for the incorporation of future U.S. territories. The Northwest Ordinance is considered one of the most impactful elements of the Articles of Confederation era because it set forth a policy for the orderly expansion of the United States across North America.The ordinance provided for the political and civil rights of the inhabitants and banned slavery in the territories. Over 30 people, including a name partner Joseph Lordan, have left the firm. Lordan has joined O'Hagan Meyer as co-managing partner of the San Francisco office, and five other former partners and twenty employees from Daugherty Lordan have also shifted to O'Hagan Meyer.The situation at Daugherty Lordan echoes the turbulence that occurred at Lewis Brisbois when nearly 140 attorneys left to form the new firm. Wachtell, known for its handling of transactions and litigation like an investment bank, is being sued by Twitter's parent company, X Corp, for an alleged "unjust enrichment" through a $90 million payment. Musk's lawsuit, filed on July 5 in the San Francisco Superior Court, seeks restitution of these funds.Success fees, which are increasingly favored by clients wary of law firms overcharging or unnecessarily expanding work, are growing in popularity in the legal industry. Such a fee model has been especially adopted by large corporations and major companies disillusioned with hourly billings. Wachtell is renowned for its pioneering use of success fees, having one of the highest profits per equity partner in the industry and often linking its fees to the success of the deals it handles.The suit highlights Wachtell's billing practices, with the firm often receiving fees comparable to 60-80% of those paid to investment advisors. Despite the $90 million fee being a minute fraction of the $44 billion Musk paid for Twitter, Bruce MacEwen, a law firm consultant, argues that the value provided was reasonable. Born in 1985, Cartwright will join the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, a position left vacant by Judge Benjamin Hale who semi-retired in 2020. This confirmation, along with that of Kymberly Evanson, means President Joe Biden has now appointed all active judges in the Western District. Including Cartwright, Biden has appointed several judges under 40 years old. Some critics, largely Republicans, have expressed concerns over the age and limited legal experience of Biden's appointees.Cartwright, a civil rights lawyer and former public defender, has had a different career path to the judiciary than many others. Several groups have endorsed her nomination, emphasizing her diverse experiences and commendable litigation and trial skills. Also, Myong Joun, a Boston municipal court Judge, was up for a vote of confirmation. If confirmed, he would be the first Asian-American man to serve as a federal judge in Massachusetts. The Congressional Black Caucus expressed concerns over the nomination of two other candidates, Brandon Long and Jerry Edwards, criticizing a lack of meaningful participation in the selection process.Senate Confirms One of Judiciary's Youngest Trial Court JudgesU.S. prosecutors and IRS agents are pursuing investigations into wealthy individuals suspected of illicitly exploiting Puerto Rico's tax breaks. The island has used significant incentives to attract wealthy Americans over the past decade, but authorities are now scrutinizing whether individuals have falsified their residency duration and income sources. Professionals who promoted the tax program are also under investigation. Prosecutors are considering charges of conspiracy and wire fraud, and two criminal investigations could result in charges soon.Since 2012, over 5,000 Americans have qualified for incentives that exempt them from federal income tax and taxes on dividends, interest, and capital gains. Yet, lawyers indicate that the residency requirements are stringent, leading some to cheat. To qualify, individuals must stay on the island at least 183 days a year and demonstrate a closer connection to Puerto Rico than the U.S.The tax incentives have attracted many investors, including those from the crypto sector. On this day in legal history the Securities and Exchange Commission was established.During the 1920s, the United States experienced a period of economic growth known as the "Roaring 20s," characterized by prosperity, consumerism, and increased debt. Many people invested in the stock market, taking huge risks without federal oversight. However, on October 29, 1929, known as "Black Tuesday," the stock market crashed, causing widespread losses and a loss of public confidence. This crash led to the closure of thousands of banks, bankruptcies, high unemployment rates, wage cuts, and homelessness, ultimately triggering the Great Depression.In response to the stock market crash and to prevent future crises, the U.S. Senate Banking Committee conducted hearings in 1932, known as the Pecora hearings. These hearings revealed widespread misconduct in the financial industry, including misleading investors, irresponsible behavior, and insider trading. As a result, the Securities Act of 1933 was passed, requiring registration of most securities sales and aiming to prevent fraud by ensuring investors received truthful financial information.The Glass-Steagall Act, also a response to the Pecora hearings, was passed in 1933. It separated investment banking from commercial banking and established the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to oversee banks, protect consumers' deposits, and handle consumer complaints.To further regulate the securities industry, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Securities Exchange Act in 1934, on this day in fact, creating the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC was granted extensive powers to regulate the securities industry, including the New York Stock Exchange, and had the authority to bring civil charges against violators of securities laws. Joseph P. Kennedy, a Wall Street investor and businessman, was appointed as the first chairman of the SEC by President Roosevelt.It is also obviously the anniversary of the Normandy landings – while not explicitly a day in legal history, it is safe to say the second half of the 20th century in American jurisprudence might have transpired differently had the invasion gone differently. The SEC is busy on its birthday. Today, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against Coinbase Inc, the largest cryptocurrency asset trading platform in the United States. The SEC accused Coinbase of operating illegally without registering with the regulatory agency. According to the complaint, Coinbase has been functioning as an unregistered broker since at least 2019, conducting cryptocurrency transactions and evading disclosure requirements designed to protect investors. The SEC further stated that Coinbase Prime, a service that directs orders to Coinbase's platform and other platforms, as well as Coinbase Wallet, which enables investors to access liquidity outside of Coinbase's platform, also operated as unregistered brokers. Gary Gensler, the Chair of the SEC, expressed via Twitter that Coinbase's alleged failures deprived investors of crucial protections against fraud, manipulation, conflicts of interest, and routine inspection.Coinbase's stock experienced a 15.9% decline in premarket trading following the filing of the lawsuit, and the company did not immediately respond to requests for comment. This SEC lawsuit against Coinbase came just one day after the regulator had filed a separate lawsuit against Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, and its founder, Changpeng Zhao. The lawsuit against Coinbase was submitted in Manhattan federal court. This development adds to the regulatory scrutiny faced by major cryptocurrency platforms, highlighting concerns over compliance and investor protection.By way of additional background on the aforementioned Binance suit, the SEC alleges that Binance and Zhao engaged in deceptive practices, conflicts of interest, lack of disclosure, and evasion of the law. They are accused of secretly allowing high-value U.S. customers to trade on the Binance.com platform while publicly claiming to restrict them. Additionally, the SEC claims that Binance.US, which was presented as an independent platform for U.S. investors, was actually controlled by Zhao and Binance behind the scenes.The SEC also alleges that Zhao and Binance had control over customer assets, permitting commingling and diversion of funds, including to an entity owned by Zhao called Sigma Chain. Furthermore, the SEC asserts that Binance and BAM Trading operated as unregistered national securities exchanges, broker-dealers, and clearing agencies. They are charged with offering and selling their own crypto assets, including BNB and BUSD, without proper registration. Zhao is held responsible as a control person for these violations.SEC Chair Gary Gensler emphasized the extensive deception and evasion of regulations by Zhao and Binance. He cautioned the public against investing with or on these unlawful platforms. The complaint filed by the SEC seeks accountability for the alleged violations of securities laws and investor protection.US SEC sues Coinbase, one day after suing Binance | ReutersSEC Files 13 Charges Against Binance Entities and Founder Changpeng ZhaoTwo former partners of Lewis Brisbois were forced out of the boutique they had started after their former firm released a collection of racist, sexist, and antisemitic emails they had written while employed there. You will remember we previously reported on their spin-off firm, when they were able to convince more than a hundred Lewis Brisbois attorneys to follow them. The remaining leaders of the spin-off boutique, which was formed by John Barber and Jeff Ranen, will establish a new firm. The partners' former firm, Lewis Brisbois, shared a series of emails spanning more than a decade that revealed disparaging remarks made by Barber and Ranen about female associates, clients, and others, as well as their use of racist, antisemitic, and anti-LGBTQ slurs. Following the release of the emails, Barber and Ranen resigned from Barber Ranen, expressing their remorse and apologizing for their words.The exposure of these emails could negatively impact recruitment efforts for both Lewis Brisbois and the new boutique. It may also result in client losses for the firms. The incident has drawn attention to the need for a more inclusive and respectful culture in the legal profession. The former partners have stated that they will take time away from the legal business to reflect on their actions and explore ways to demonstrate their contrition and commitment to a more inclusive world. The release of these emails has prompted discussions about the need for ethical training and quality control in the legal profession.Ex-Lewis Brisbois Partners Ousted Over Racist, Sexist Emails (1)Texas has emerged victorious in its antitrust lawsuit against Google as a U.S. judicial panel has ordered the case to be returned to federal court in Texas. Initially, Google had succeeded in moving the lawsuit to a federal court in New York upon its request, where other advertising technology cases were being heard. However, Texas sought to have the case moved back after the U.S. Congress passed the Venue Act in 2022, granting state attorneys general the right to choose the jurisdiction for litigating antitrust lawsuits. The Texas lawsuit accuses Google of violating the law by exerting control over the process used by advertisers to place online ads, resulting in reduced revenues for website publishers. Google has expressed its disagreement with the decision, asserting that the Texas Attorney General's case is flawed in terms of both facts and law. The case will now be heard in the eastern district of Texas, known for its efficiency in handling cases. Google is facing antitrust lawsuits globally, with allegations of abuse of dominance in various areas of its businesses. Apart from the Texas lawsuit, Google is also battling the U.S. federal government in two separate antitrust lawsuits related to search dominance and advertising technology, while states led by Utah have accused the company of violating antitrust laws in its management of the app store.Texas wins round against Google as antitrust lawsuit returned to Lone Star state | ReutersHey, looky here – its Column Tuesday again!This week I wrote about the Texas tax on electric vehicles and its overall wrongheadedness. I tried to give credit where credit was due, Texas has it partially right—the state is just taxing the wrong thing, at the wrong time, with the wrong rate, and for the wrong reasons. Other than that, the EV tax is a great idea.About that tax: starting from September, Texas will impose a $400 initial registration fee and a $200 annual renewal fee for EV owners. The rationale behind the fee is to offset the portion of the gas tax that goes towards infrastructure and road maintenance, which EVs do not contribute to. However, I argue that the bill is more about protecting the oil and gas industry and winning a culture war than about effective policy. The bill excludes hybrid vehicles and other small electric vehicles from the tax, leading to logical inconsistencies.An alternative approach I suggest is to implement a tax based on the kilowatt hours used at public chargers. This would more accurately reflect the use of infrastructure by EVs and could fund public charging infrastructure. The tax could also be adjusted based on income to address regressiveness. However, if the goal of the tax is to offset wear and tear on roads and bridges, hybrid vehicles, which have higher fuel efficiency than traditional gasoline-powered cars, should also be subject to such a tax.The new EV tax in Texas results in EV drivers paying more for road maintenance compared to gas-powered car drivers.While there may be a need for a tax on EVs in the future when they become more prevalent, it should be implemented with careful consideration and for the right reasons. Ani sám Hamlet by nevedel správne odpovedať. Preto sme sa rozhodli túto odvekú záhadu vyriešiť my a pomocou vašich skúseností sme sa dozvedeli, že áno - na veľkosti záleží... a nehovoríme o veľkosti jeho bankového účtu. V najnovšom podcaste sme rozoberali všakovaké tvary, hrúbky, centimetre...aj metre a slová ako hadica, chrumka, kladivo, zákruta či vatová tyčinka pre nás nabrali úplne nový zmysel. Its future is clearly tied up with smart TVs. And, with the viewers of course. Netflix Chairman and Co-CEO Reed Hastings had claimed last September that half of the US population still don't own smart TVs, and there is a long way to go. Hastings has been saying the same about India too, where the penetration is much less. But, last week, the co-founder of the world's largest streaming company, went on to say that lack of success in the Indian market was “frustrating”. What prompted Hastings to make such a statement and why Netflix is not able to penetrate beyond a fixed customer base here?  Pandemic created several stars, like Netflix and Zomato. But overall, it spelled doom for several other sectors. Micro, small and medium enterprises or MSME was one of them. Thousands of small businesses were shut, and millions lost jobs. Ranen Banerjee of PwC India shares his views with Business Standard's Krishna Veera Vanamali on what he expects from the upcoming Budget for the sector and what the government can do to boost demand at the bottom of the pyramid.   After the budgetary expectations, let us move on to markets. Toukokuun musiikkijaksossamme sukellamme Varsinais-Suomen ja Satakunnan riippumattoman musiikin temmellyskentälle. Mukana on paljon uunituoretta musiikkia rockista räppiin ja progemetallista punkkiin. Lisäksi kuulemme itsekin vasta tuoreen levyn julkaisseen mainosmies Petri Materon vinkit onnistuneeseen Spotify-pitchaukseen sekä viimeisimmät tiedot nimenomaan pienille DIY-bändeille suunnatusta kotimaisesta Family in Music-start-upista joka lanseerataan kesällä ja jonka ajatus on toimia eräänlaisena musiikin Linked In-alustana. Näiden lisäksi kuunnellaan myös pätkät Annika Nordin ja Sysi & Savi-yhtyeen nokkamiehen Teemun haastatteluista. Kuten aina, jakson tarkka ajastus löytyy bändiesittelyjen jälkeen sivun lopusta. 01. Softcore Suicide (Turku, rock)Softcore Suicide on vuonna 2014 perustettu rock/metal/punk-yhtye Turusta. Lyhyen uransa aikana bändi on kerryttänyt runsaasti keikkakokemusta Suomessa ja hieman rajojen ulkopuolella sekä esiintynyt Leipomo Rostenin Pumpernikkelimainoksessa. Bändi sai ensidemolleen hyvän nosteen vuonna 2014, kun Jone Nikula ja Jussi69 valitsivat sen viikon demoksi Radio Rockin Koff Rock -kilpailussa, minkä ansiosta bändin ensimmäinen keikka oli Kotiteollisuuden lämppärinä Helsingin On The Rocksissa.  Yhtye on julkaissut sinkkujen ja EP:n muodossa 9 biisiä omakustanteena. Niistä viimeisin on tänä vappuna julkaistu The Maze, jonka tuotantoprosessi keskeytyi useita kertoja mm. sormeen leikkaamisten, muuttojen, sähkökatkojen, tietoteknisten ongelmien ja tappeluiden takia. Vaikeuksista huolimatta biisi saatiin kuitenkin pakettiin, ja kesäksi bändi oli kiinnitetty soittamaan Kuopiorockiin, mutta koronaviruspandemia veti tälläkin kertaa maton tylysti alta, kun festari peruttiin tältä vuodelta.  Keikoilla on riittänyt mitä eriskummallisimpia tilanteita. Tämän bändin esiintyessä ei lentele naisten pikkuhousut, vaan kirjaimellisesti ulostetta, moottoripyöriä ja nyrkkejä. Yhtye on soittanut keikkoja tavanomaisten keikkapaikkojen lisäksi moottoripyöräkerhoissa, uimarannalla, häissä ja strippiklubilla vain muutamia mainitaksemme. Kallablöös (Rauma, bluesrock) KallaBlöös esittää trio-kokoonpanolla originaalia musiikkia, joka voidaan lokeroida blues/bluesrock/roots -genreihin. Yhtyeen jäsenillä on vankka kokemus keikkailusta kotimaassa, Euroopassa sekä Amerikassa (mm. RelaxTrio & Black Dreams). KallaBlöös on toisaalta oluenjuontimusiikkia, joka lainaa vaikutteita bändeiltä kuten Cream, Free, Ten Years After ja ZZ-top, mutta myös herkempää tarinankerrontaa bluesin ja bluesrockin tyyliin  Bändi on Jere Kallan sooloprojekti, joka syntyi halusta kokeilla omia siipiä biisinkirjoittajana ja laulajana. Biisien teko alkoi talvella 2019 ja ympärille syntyi bändi tutuista muiden bändien soittajista Raumalla keväällä 2019. Bändin jäsenet vaikuttavat edelleen muissakin bändeissä kuten esimerkiksi Relax Trio ja Anu's Trio. Keikkailu lähti hyvin käyntiin Satakunnan alueella ja bändi sai hyvän vastaanoton fanikunnan pikkuhiljaa kasvaessa. Nyt koronan aiheuttamien rajoitteiden vuoksi jouduttiin kesän keikat perumaan. Näistä harmittaa varsinkin Järvenpään Puisto-Bluesin keikan peruuntuminen. Toivottavasti pian päästään kuitenkin taas keikkailemaan vanhaan tapaan.   Julkaisimme ensimmäisen albumimme huhtikuun 10. Päivä ja se on kuultavissa kaikissa suoratoistopalveluissa sekä cd-formaatilla, joita voi tilata sähköpostiosoitteesta kallabloos@gmail.com. Levy on äänitetty omakustanteena ja pääosin studiolivenä, jotta yhtyeen uniikki ja energinen soundi saatiin taltioitua mahdollisimman hyvin. Levyn ensimmäinen single Falling from the Sky sai heti julkaisunsa jälkeen huomiota Esa Kuloniemeltä, joka soitti singlen Bluesministeri ohjelmassaan radio Yle Suomessa, sekä Jorma Hietamäeltä, joka teki samoin Suomi-rock ohjelmassaan. Annika Nord (Turku, poprock)Olen Annika Nord laulaja-kitaristi-lauluntekijä. Keikkailen parhaimmillaan 150 keikan vuositahtia ympäri Suomea. Parikymppisenä tein muutaman keikan soolona, trubaduurina siis. Yllätyin itsekin keikkamääristä ja ihmisten palautteista keikoilla. Monet vaativat minua lupaaman, että jatkaisin tällä tiellä. Aion jatkaa, sillä minä ja kitara vaan rakastetaan soittaa ja laulaa yhdessä!  Pari vuotta sitten tuli tarve tehdä omaa musiikkia. Aloin kirjoittaa tarinoita joka päivä. Biisien kirjoittelu vei täysin mukanaan. Yhtäkkiä löysin ympärilleni myös bändin, joka vei minut ihanaan uuteen musiikkikuplaan. Tällä hetkellä keikkailen kitaran kanssa, bändillä ja duolla. DJ Tikari (Turku, rap)© Aleks Talve  DJ Tikari on rovaniemeläis-turkulainen rap-artisti, -tuottaja ja entinen DJ.  DJ Tikari aloitti DJ-keikkailun Rovaniemellä 17-vuotiaana vuonna 2011. DJ-keikkoja kertyi sittemmin Rovaniemellä ja Turussa järjestettävien räppi-iltojen lomassa. Lisäksi DJ Tikari on soittanut taustoja keikoilla artisteille kuten Ruste Juxx (US), Kriso, Are, OG Ikonen, Eino Antiwäkki ja Talonpoika Lalli. DJ Tikari esiintyi viimeisen kerran levysoittimien takana SAY10V-tapahtumassa Helsingissä 12.10.2019.  Hip hop -taustoja ja -lyriikoita DJ Tikari on tehnyt pöytälaatikkoon jo vuodesta 2009 alkaen, mutta vasta lähivuosina ottanut räppäyksen vakavasti pistäen sisään tarvittavat työtunnit. Ensimmäinen rap-julkaisu oli mixtape Takamehtien Tikari (10/2018), joka toimi eräänlaisena harjoitustyönä ennen ensimmäistä virallista julkaisua, joka näkee päivänvalon tänä talvena debyyttilevyn muodossa 25%.  Levystä 25% vanhaa, 25% uutta, 25% pöllittyä ja 25% jotain mitä ei voi sanoiksi laittaa; tällä reseptillä debyyttilevyni 25% on tehty. 25% edustaa aihesanoilta minulle seuraavia asioita: rollofunk, lappirap, golden era suomirap, southern rap, g-funk, west coast.  Musiikin osalta seikkaillaan southern rapin, g-funkin ja west coastin välimaastoissa. Temaattisesti levy käsittelee nuoren miehen kasvutarinaa vuosina 2013-2019, ollen osalti autobiografinen. Kappaleiden tuotannosta vastaa allekirjoittanut itse yhtä kappaletta lukuunottamatta, jonka on tuottanut Espoon g-funk-auteur Phunky Mr. Olavi.  Tekoprosessi alkoi jokseenkin päällekkäin mixtapen Takamehtien Tikari (2018) kanssa. Levy syntyi yksinkertaisesti halusta tehdä räppilevy, joka edustaisi omaa pohjoisamerikkalaista hip hop-musiikkimakua ja jotain vastaavaa mitä noin kymmenen vuotta sitten suomirapissä tehtiin. Oma isoin suomirap-fanitus osui juuri sille ajalle, levysoittimessa pyörien artistit kuten Hannibal & Soppa ja Pahat Viinit, Joku Roti Mafia, Julma Henri, Ruudolf, Heikki Kuula ym. Samalla halusin kokeilla, miten suomirap-skene reagoi siihen, että vie vähän tyylejä takaisinpäin siihen aikaan kun taustoja samplattiin paljon.  Tulevaa  Jonkun verran tänä keväänä tehnyt töitä muiden lukuun: säveltänyt taustoja, tehnyt featteja ynnä muuta. Ne varmaan materialisoituu, kun aika on kypsä heidän osalta - mitään ei pysty vielä paljastamaan! Omaa soolomatskua työstänyt myös. Whatever Motherfuckers (Turku, punk)Whatever Motherfuckers perustettiin 2015 kun Turussa vaikuttaneen AURA-nimisen yhtyeen kaksi jäsentä tapasi toisensa vuoden 1997 jälkeen.  Saukki kitarassa ja Tommi rummuissa ottivat yhteyttä Peteen jonka pääbändi oli ja on edelleen Cannibal Accidentin jossa hän on kitaristina. Hän lupasi tulla bändiin kunnes löytyy pysyvä kitaristi.  Tiago löytyi bassoon netin kautta.   Pete hoiti alussa laulut mutta ei oikein digannut hommasta joten Jussi kiristettiin laulajaksi tuttujen kautta, hyvä kun oli hommassa.  WEMF oli valmis.  Pete alkoi olla liian työllistetty Cannibal Accidentin levytyksien ja WEMFin kanssa joten hän jätti paikan ja tilalle tuli Jani.  Tiago jättäytyi pois henkilökohtaisten menojen vuoksi ja bassoon saatiin tilalle Tony.  Tällä kokoonpanolla WEMF toimii edelleen.  2019 keväällä Saukilla ja Jussilla oli sen verran paljon henkilökohtaisia menoja että bändi päätti jäädä hetkeksi tauolle.  Jani, Tony ja Tommi eivät kuitenkaan halunneet taukoa joten päätettiin perustaa suomenkielellä esiintyvä projektibändi kesän ajaksi, joka tekisi yhden EPn ja sitten bändi laitettaisiin pakettiin.  Tarina jatkuu Lintupuisto Klo 13 merkeissä… Whatever Motherfuckers: Jussi : laulu Jani : kirara Saukki : kitara Tony : basso Tommi : rummut LINKIT:SpotifyFacebookBandcampInstagramYoutube   ASIAA:Sellainen tuli mieleen että terkkuja kaikille bändeille jotka miettivät bändin nimeä ja somemainostusta.  Facebook dominoi kaikkea ja niiden politiikka on ihan mielivaltaista ja posketonta.  Jos Whatever Motherfuckers yritti mainostaa jotain se meni banniin samantien kun painoi enteriä.  Noin kymmenen sekunnin päästä tuli ilmoitus että se on sopimaton ja saattaa vahingoittaa jotain. FB myös kysyi tarvitsemmeko apua?  Pistin niille meiliä että mikäs mättää ja mihin tarvitsen apua? No bändin nimi oli se joka saattaa vahingoittaa jotain ihmistä ja bändin nimen takia he olivat huolissaan meistä.  Ja tämän meilin jälkeen FB algoritmi tarjosi Whatever Motherfuckersille kupongin jolla voi mainostaa, ja otsikkona luki: Whatever Motherfuckers…eli ympäri mentiin.  Ehdotin nimen vaihdosta W.E.M.F nimeen, ei kelvannut pisteet. Crackwhore (Turku, punk)Crackwhore perustettiin v. 2001 lähinnä Ranen ja Tapsan kaatuneiden bändien Monotonics ja Siamese Aunt raunioille. Heti kärkeen oli homman nimi silloin kovasti vallalla olleen action-rockin henkeen suoraviivaista mättörockia tiukalla punk-vivahteella. Keikkoja on tehty ja tehdään ja CD-r-julkaisuja. Julkaisuja on tähän asti neljä EP:tä ja viides on tuloillaan. Matero (Helsinki, rock – kuukauden tähtivieras)© Atte Mäläskä ”Matero on minulle pelikenttä, jolla asetan itseni vahvimmin epämukavuusalueelleni kuin koskaan aiemmin musiikin parissa. En olisi pystynyt kirjoittamaan näitä kappaleita yhtään aiemmin kuin nyt nelikymppisenä. Biiseissä kuulet sekä omakohtaisia tarinoitani että kertomuksia Kainuusta ja Helsingistä. Minä-hahmo sekoittuu kuultuun ja nähtyyn, koettuun ja tehtyyn.”  Synnyin vuonna 1977. Kasvoin ja hakkasin päätäni seinään Kajaanissa vuoteen 2008 saakka. 10 vuotta Helsingissä valmisti minut tähän projektiin. Onko kyseessä nelikymppisen, kolmen lapsen isän ja aviomiehen keski-iän kriisi? En osaa sanoa, mutta moottoripyörää ja nuorempaa vaimoa ei tarvinnut tätä varten hommata.  Olen soittanut ja tehnyt musiikkia 13-vuotiaasta saakka. Välillä olin päästää irti siitä, mutta tulin onneksi järkiini. Nyt olen yhdessä risteyksessä ja katson seuraavaan suuntaan. Mind Abduction (Rauma, progemetal)”Kerrassaan tyylitajuinen yhtye, joka ei häviä musiikillaan pätkääkään maailmanluokan kollegoileen” –Inferno Magazine 10/2014.  Laulaja/kitaristi/kosketinsoittaja/biisintekijä Tuomas Pere perusti Mind Abductionin vuonna 2003 Raumalla, tarkoituksenaan perustaa projekti, jonka kautta voi toteuttaa kaikkia mahdollisia mieleen tulevia musiikillisia visioita ilman turhia genremääritelmiä tai muita rajoitteita. Musiikki on suurimman osan aikaa ollut pitkälti riffi- ja melodiapainotteista raskasta musiikkia, joka yhdistelee ennakkoluulottomasti vaikutteita eri genreistä. Uusin, huhtikuussa 2020 vain musiikkivideona YouTubessa julkaistu biisi 2000000 Years edustaa taas täysin erilaista, syntikkaan ja puhtaaseen lauluun pohjautuvaa melodista musiikkia, josta aiemmilta kappaleilta tuttu kitarariffittely ja jopa rummut puuttuvat kokonaan, avaten bändin tyyliä täysin uusiin suuntiin ja osoittaen, että Mind Abductionin piirissä voidaan julkaista aivan minkä tahansa musiikkityylin musiikkia. Ensimmäisten vuosien aikana bändi julkaisi parit demot ja keikkaili jonkin verran kotimaassa. Tämän jälkeen yhtye oli joitain vuosia tauolla, kunnes vuonna 2014 julkaistiin ensimmäinen täyspitkä levy Monolith digitaalisena levynä maailmanlaajuisesti. Monolith sai aikaan runsaasti positiivisia arvosteluita sekä Suomen tärkeimmissä musiikkilehdissä ja nettilehdissä että nettilehdissä ulkomailla. Vaikka musa on kovatasoista ja bändiä on kovasti kehuttu, ei yhtye ole kuitenkaan levinnyt laajempaan tunnettavuuteen. Elanto saadaan muista asioista ja bändihommaa tehdään puhtaasti huvin ja taiteellisen vapauden vuoksi ilman mitään paineita mihinkään suuntaan. Bändin musa onkin ennen kaikkea taidetta ja luovuuden kanavointia, antaa musiikin puhua puolestaan.  Comet on bändin toinen täyspitkä levy ja se on julkaistu 1.6.2018 maailmanlaajuisesti digitaalisena albumina. Levy on saatavilla kaikista tärkeimmistä digitaalisen musiikin suoratoistopalveluista ja verkkokaupoista ja sen voi kuunnella/ladata esim seuraavista: iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google play & Deezer. Lisäksi levyn voi kuunnella ja ladata ilmaiseksi Soundcloud-kanavaltamme. Olemme myös teettäneet levystä rajoitetun CD-painoksen, fyysinen CD on saatavilla Levykauppa X:n kautta.  Cometin kappaleet vaihtelevat kitara- ja laulumelodioiden ohjaamista (Streams, The Fields, Comet, Wavelengths) nopeampiin, raskaampiin ja progressiivisempiin pyrähdyksiin (Spring, Blindfold, Ocean of Stone) jakaoottisiin äänimaailmoihin (Welcome). Hämyrä (Turku, proge)Vuonna 2013 basisti Juhani ja kitaristilaulaja Mikko saapuivat kosketinvelho Danin makuuhuoneeseen soittohommiin ja tästä triosta sai alkunsa Hämyrä. Saimme bändikämpän Turun Runosmäestä ja bändiin liittyi rumpali sekä perkussionisti, ja vuonna 2015 olimmekin jo ensimmäisellä keikallamme Turun Asemapuistossa.  Tämä poiki meille heti seuraavan keikan Turun TVO:lla, joka on jäänyt mieleen ekana kunnon keikkana miksaajineen, valoineen sekä backstageineen. Palkaksi saatiin bisseä ja hyvät safkat, mikä kruunasi nuoren bändin kokemuksen.  2017 vaihtui sekä treenikämppä että rumpali. Heitimme Turun lisäksi pari keikkaa Pirkanmaalla, joista toisella tutustuimme äänittäjä/miksaaja Matti Vasaseen, joka ehdotti ja myös mahdollisti ensimmäisen levymme Ellam Ondren tekemisen. Äänitimme hänen kanssaan levyn pohjaraidat Turussa Rodhouse studiolla ja loput treeniksellämme. Matti myös miksasi sekä masteroi biisit, ja julkaisimme levyn omakustanteena toukokuussa 2019. Albumin tekoprosessi kokonaisuudessaan oli käänteistään huolimatta haaveiden täyttymys ja merkittävä askel bändille. Ellam Ondre myös arvioitiin mm. Turun Sanomissa ja Desibeli.netissä varsin positiiviseen sävyyn.  Levynjulkkarikeikalla oli mukana ensimmäistä kertaa toinen kitaristi Juho, jonka rooli vakiintui perkussionistin jättäydyttyä bändistä. Viimeisimpinä käänteinä tiemme rumpalimme kanssa erkanivat keväällä 2020, ja sille tontille haemme nyt uutta kannuttajaa.  Sopivan tyypin löydyttyä pyrimme palaamaan keikkalavoille mahdollisimman pian sekä aloittamaan seuraavan teoksen äänitykset.  Nyt teemme demoja tulevia julkaisuja varten sillä materiaalia on vaikka millä mitalla.   Musiikkimme on hämyisää rokkia lukuisin vivahtein ja arvaamattomin kääntein. Eteeristä jumitusta ja ankaraa paahtoa, tummia sävyjä ja suoraan pään läpi kulkevaa kirkasta valoa. Tavoittelemme psykedeelistä taajuutta hämärän rajamailta,valon ja varjon tuolta puolen, jossa ei ole mitään — ja kaikki.  LINKIT:SpotifyYoutubeFacebookSoundcloudInstagramDistrokid PARASTA KOTIKULMILLA:Leppoisat puistomeiningit vuodesta toiseen. Lisäksi vinkkaamalla kaikille vapaille rumpaleille meidän bändistä!   10. Huolet ja murheet (Turku, punk) Huolet ja Murheet on turussa vuonna 2016 perustettu yhtye. Ryhmä on kiertänyt suomea perustamisvuodesta lähtien. Helsingistä Rovaniemelle, Porista Lappeenrantaan ja kolunnut lukemattomia lavoja näiden välillä. Ensimmäinen neljän musiikkiesityksen kasetti-EP julkaistiin jo 2016 alkusyksystä ja tästä eteenpäin kasetti-EP:eiden sarja jatkui aina kesään 2018. Näiden kasettien jälkeen, marraskuussa 2018 julkaistiin "18" CD, joka sisälsi uudelleenäänitettyinä versioina kokoelmahenkisesti 18 tekijöidensä mielestä parasta esitystä noilta yhdeksältä kasetilta.  Se on vain pysyvää piirtää kuvan kasvaneesta yhtyeestä. Missä 18 kokosi yhteen oman aikajanansa realismin, edustaa Se on vain pysyvää tuota juuri täysi-ikäistynyttä entiteettiä kokonaisempaa ja itseensä luottavaisempaa yksilöä nimeltä Huolet ja Murheet. Rusin ja Solkion teksteissä on havaittavissa aiempaa enemmän olemassa olevan maailman hyväksymistä. Todelliset kokemukset ja olemassaolon turhuus. Arkirealismi tapahtuneiden asioiden synnyttämien, suurtenkin, tunteiden kera on läsnä. Se, millaisessa maailmassa elämme. Huonoine ja hyvineen. Pilkahduksia molemmista on olemassa. Kuten ihmiselämään kuuluu. Musiikillisesti sävellystuotanto on aiempaa uskaliaampaa. Levyllä on mahdollista havaita tunnelmia varhaisesta goottirokista, mietoja vivahteita 70-luvun progressiivisuudesta ja vaikutteita moderneista punkrokin sekä indierokin sanansaattajista. Jotain uutta, jotain vanhaa ja merkittävissä määrin huolta ja murhetta. Tietyissä tilanteissa duaalisuus ja toistaminen todella syventää koettua tilaa. Kaikesta lakonisuudestaan huolimatta. Kukaan ei pääse pakoon sitä tosiasiaa, että vain yksi asia on pysyvää. Kaikki muuttuu.  Äänitystuotannollisesti levy edustaa myös uutta vaihdetta yhtyeen elämässä. Tällä kertaa äänimaailma on kuulaampi ja selkeämpi kuin aiemmin. Vaikka kyseessä onkin perinteinen laulu, kitara, basso ja rummut -rock-kokoonpano, on levyn kuuntelukokemuksesta odotettavissa hyvää. Tai niin ainakin uskomme. Tuotanto on alusta loppuun yhteen itsensä käsialaa. Lintupuisto Klo 13 (Turku, punk) Tarinan jatkoa Whatever Motherfuckersista…  Kesäprojektiin löytyi toiseksi kitaristiksi netin kautta Arttu. Laulaja Valtteri löytyi tuttavapiiristä ja natsasi välittömästi.  Kesä 2019 meni soitellessa ja biisejä tehdessä. Bändiltä puuttui nimi, eikä mikään oikein kolahtanut.  Syksyllä bändi osallistui Turku punkfutikseen ja ensimmäinen peli bändillä oli Kupittaan lintupuistolla klo 13.  Bändi oli paikalla mutta ketään ei näkynyt. Toimijat olivat päättäneet mennä sateen takia pubiin mutta kukaan ei kertonut sitä bändille…  Siinä se nimi oli…Lintupuisto klo 13!!   Poraa läpi pään EP:n äänitysten jälkeen Arttu kiitti ajasta ja palasi omien yhtyeidensä pariin.   No Lintupuisto oli alkanut elää omaa elämää eikä hommaa haluttu lopettaa, niin kitaristiksi ystävällisesti suostuteltiin treenikämpille vahingossa eksynyt Turkulaisen legendaarisen punkbändi Sininen Kondomi rumpali Sakari.  Siitä on eri näkemyksiä miten asia hoidettiin mutta lopputulos on se että nyt bändi on valmis. Valitettavasti koronavirus vei kaikki kevään jo sovitut keikat joten ensimmäinen keikka odottaa edelleen korkkausta. Sysi & Savi (Loimaa, rock)Sysi & Savi on vuonna 2014 Loimaalla perustettu rockhybridi. Hommat lähtivät liikkeelle jonkunmoisena progressiivisena rockabillycorena, mutta 20-luvulle saavuttaessa moinen eksoottinen kuvaus yhtyeen genrestä on hieman haalistunut. Soutu on käymässä koko ajan raskaammaksi ja taivaan ylle on muodostumassa entistä tummempia pilviä. Lupsakoita hanttapulejahan nämä pelimannit ovat, joten synkän horisontin valaisevat kyllä ajoittain salamat ja strobovalot. Elämä Suomen Loimaalla muistuttaa saippuaoopperaa, mutta tästä huolimatta Sysi & Savi kokee olemansa enemmän nordic noir.   Yhtye keikkaili ensimmäisinä vuosinaan lukuisissa maakunnissa, räjäytti renkaita moottoriteillä ja sai kotipaikkakunnaltaan yllätyksekseen taiteen kannustusapurahan vuonna 2016. Bändi julkaisi debyyttialbuminsa Zombijive omalla levymerkillään keväällä 2019 ja saavutti näin yhden virstanpylväänsä. Elävien kuolleiden askeleet päätyivät kuitenkin nopeasti takaisin maan alle. Vuonna 2020 kelmeä kalman haju on muuttunut hattaran, paukkumaissin ja tuoreen veren sulotuoksuun, bändin julkaistaessa vuosikymmenen ensimmäisen sinkkunsa Karnevaali.
