It's election season and we worked VERY HARD to find you non-political stories! Tell that cortisol to bother somewhere else! First, we dive into the chaos at NYC's Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest. Organized by a producer with ties to Mr. Beast, the event went off the rails with a few 'police brutality' arrests and a surprise cameo from Timmy himself. (We love a Chalamet drop-in!) Then, we tackle McKinsey's $4 million recommendation to New Yorkers: put your trash in bins—because the rats don't run this city; we do! We also introduce Crumbs, the world's plumpest cat, whose diet journey is far from smooth. And finally, there's the story of a woman with the best worst problem (hint: her man needs a little tech help in the romance department). It's light, fluffy, and just right for the end times. Enjoy! #womenincomedy #nyccomedy #podcastepisode #comedypodcast #funnywomen #timotheechalamet #nycnews #comedy #nopolitics #lookalikes

How can we become more aware of the consequences of our actions tomorrow?LEARNING: Ask better questions. “It's only through conversations with people like you, Andrew, that I can refine my questions. I love all the people you put on the show because they helped me articulate better what I think I'm optimizing for.”Tony Fish Guest profileTony Fish is a neuro-minority and a leading expert on decision-making, governance, and entrepreneurship in uncertain environments. His 30-year sense-making and foresight track record means he has been ahead on several technical revolutions. His enthusiasm and drive are contagious & inspiring, especially for wicked problems. He has written and published six books, remains a visiting Fellow at Henley Business School for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Entrepreneurs-in-residence (EIR) at Bradford School of Management, teaches at London Business School and the London School of Economics in AI and Ethics, and is a European Commission (EC) expert for Big Data.Tony was a guest on Ep261: CEOs Can Defraud a Business in Very Hard to Detect Ways. In this episode, Tony talks about his newest book, Decision Making in Uncertain Times - How can we become more aware of the consequences of our actions on tomorrow? The unsaid questionsTony struggled with how to ask better questions. He says there are two forms of questions. There are questions that we all ask, such as how are you performing? What are you doing? How are you feeling? Then there's a pile of what Tony termed the unsaid questions. He says that we don't ask these questions because, politically, we can't ask them. We emotionally feel we're not able to, especially if we don't know the person well enough or when somebody tells us not to ask that type of question. The trouble with a board is that if members don't ask the unsaid, they won't be able to discharge their fiduciary duties. Therefore, we need better frameworks to find questions we didn't know we needed to ask.So, how do we ask those questions? Tony has a whole book on how he does it. When the book gets shared, other people will read it, and they'll come up with better questions than he has.Principle versus riskAccording to Tony, when a board starts, it has all these principles outlined and tries to uphold them. But you realize later on as a board that you can't manage principles. What you can manage is risk frameworks. But you can't manage risk rating frameworks without rules. So, you create rules that allow you to manage risk. After creating the rules, you become managed against the free-risk framework you believe in because it aligns with your principles. However, over time, the rules stop working, and those rules have to have another rule because there's an exception to a rule. Tony says that when a new rule is created, or a new procedure or methodology comes along, a board should go back and question if that rule is aligned with its purpose, not whether it is helping the board manage the risk framework...
Run with Purpose Blog:https://hubtrainingcenter.com/2024/03/run-with-purpose/ Run/Walk Program:https://www.orthovirginia.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Herring-Interval-Run-Dr-Herring-Dr-Green_1.pdf5 Levels or Zones:Level 0: is you sitting on the couch planning to run or procrastinating. Level 1: is perceived as easy. You are jogging easy. This has been labeled a “recovery run”. I am adamantly against this type of run. Your gait is different and the impact on your legs is tremendous trying to slow down. If you are doing a recovery run because you are fatigued, then all the force goes across your aging joints. The muscles can't absorb the force. I would rather you ride a bike, swim, or just walk for recovery. Level 2: is the key to endurance fitness. This has been labeled zone 2 in the fitness world. When you are running zone 2, you can carry on a conversation. If you can't talk, you are not in zone 2. The scientific purpose of this zone is to build mitochondria, the organelles in your cells that provide energy. The biggest mistake is running too hard. This level of running should make up 70-80% of your training. This type of run requires very little recovery. A great way to build your longer steady run is progress your walk/ run sequence to 8-9 min steady run/1 min walk progressing the repetitions. Level 3: Tempo work is your pacing for a 5k or 10k. This is done in longer intervals. This is moderately hard but sustainable. Level 4: This is labeled hard. You can do shorter intervals and make a harder effort. These 1-3 min intervals build strength and power. This can include harder hill or track intervals. Level 5: Very Hard. These are short less than 1 min intervals to build top speed and push your heart rate to the max level. These are uncomfortable but crucial. When you are run training, the majority of your running should be at a steady level. As you build fitness, you can go up in levels of intensity. Do not progress too quickly or skip levels. This leads to injury. We recommend first adding tempo. With increased intensity, you will need increased rest (days off running) . Complete several weeks completing tempo work 1-2 times per week, then add hard. Again, this will take more rest. After you have built the fitness and resilience to run hard, then add very hard. One major key to running healthy is to plan your week and plan your month. Run steady 3-4 times a week and 1 tempo/hard/very hard session with adequate rest allows for fitness gains in a safe affective manner. Key Points to building run fitness Start slow and build with a plan. Running steady is the majority and most important part of run fitness. When you add in harder runs use the progression from tempo to hard to very hard. Make sure you give your body more rest with increased effort. On your defined easy days, find a “cross train” exercise" that is low impact. Your aging joints will be much happier.

Hey guys! So I was thinking the other day about some of the larger companies s that are popular now and the strategies and structuring they employ to build their brands. As I was musing, a simple (and rather random) thought entered my mind; every founder starts out as an admirer or fan of something. Their admiration creates a spark that inspires them to be more than just a spectator! That simple thought was so interesting to me that I decided to dig a little deeper and ... HERE WE ARE! Lol! To add some additional substance to this discussion, we decided to bring in a guest: Enter Terri Thomas! For the last 19 years, (until very recently), Terri has served as the Operations Manager for Radio One, who own several very popular and iconic radio stations. (Those in Houston would know some of them: 97.9 The Box, Majic 102.1, 93Q Country, The Eagle 106.9 & 107.5, and others) In addition to that, she's also a well known Speaker, Talent Coach, and Brand Strategist! That should be enough to let you know she's about to drop something MAJOR on y'all!!On today's episode, we discuss:- what a brand actually is- what's the first step in going from a fan to building a brand- the importance of your "perfect imperfections"- things that professional make look easy but are VERY HARD- how she admires Slim Thug and the brand he built- how she's inspired by her friend Megan's(thee Stallion) rise and storyThis is just part 1 of the discussion but remember we uploaded twice a week now so part 2 will coming your way on Thursday! Thx for tuning in!!Follow Terri on IG:https://www.instagram.com/territhomas?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw==If you find our content enlightening, PLEASE take a quick moment to rate and review the show! You know what they say, 'An apple a day, keeps the doctor away...' so for those of you with broken Contaxes, you better get rid of all your apples as the doctor is here! Okay, so maybe he hasn't quite gotten his PhD yet, but in this, the 41st episode of the Camerosity Podcast, we are happy to introduce you to Brandon Monroe, an aviation mechanics student who just so happens to really love the Zeiss-Ikon Contax rangefinders so much that he wanted to learn how to repair them himself. Brandon reached out to other well known technicians who repair Contaxes like Henry Scherer and Mark Hansen and learned what he could from them. For everything else, he rolled up his sleeves and got to work. Tearing down several broken Contax rangefinders, and at least one that had been previously CLAd to see what was done, Brandon has recently become successful at full CLAs of both pre and postwar Contax IIs and IIIs. Brandon has repaired several cameras for Paul and a few others, and according to Paul, the cameras are like new. Listen in as Brandon tells his story of how he got started and why he fell in love with Contax rangefinders. He discusses differences between the pre and postwar shutters, what the shutters are made of, how the rangefinders work and how they're adjusted, who makes our favorite Contax lens adapters, using Contax lenses on Nikon rangefinders, plus a huge number of other things. Mike can't help himself and goes into the history of the camera somewhat, explaining how the Contax I came to be, and what differences are between it and the later cameras. Joining us on this episode are returning guests Aidan Dean, Alex Dietrich, and first time callers Steve Wilcox and from all the way in Belgium, Eric Kaas Sluis, a self professed Contax addict who has one of the largest collections of working Contaxes and lenses in the world. In addition to repair of the Contax, we talk about what makes them special, who made the original Zeiss-Ikon Contax in 1926 (Hint: His name rhymes with 'Bagel'), postwar Jena Contaxes, and why you should consider a Kiev if you cannot afford a Contax. Amazingly, the guys somehow manage to stay on topic for most of the show, but a small amount of time is spent on a few other cameras that we just can't stop talking about. As always, the topics we discuss on the Camerosity Podcast are influenced by you. We would love to hear from more listeners, especially those who are new to shooting film or collecting cameras. Please don't feel like you have to be an expert on a specific type of camera, or have the level of knowledge on par with other people on the show. We LOVE people who are new to shooting and are interested in having an episode dedicated to people new to the hobby, so please don't consider your knowledge level to be a prerequisite for joining! The guys and I rarely know where each episode is going to go until it happens, so if you'd like to join us on a future episode, be sure to look out for our show announcements on our Camerosity Podcast Facebook page, and right here on mikeeckman.com. We usually record every other Monday and announcements, along with the Zoom link are typically shared 2-3 days in advance. If you want to join us for our next episode, we will record Episode 42 on Monday, February 6th and we will talk American cameras like Argus, Clarus, Perfex, and many other brands you may or may not have heard of! A groundbreaking moment in "That Show F*cked Me Up!" history! I finally got to sit down and have a chat with the Chatty Fox herself aka Melissa Palafox! We talk all things from public health (pap smears & medical queefs) to TV shows that f*cked her up and we end it with RELIGIOUS TRAUMA and all the lovely things associated with it. Disclaimer: I do not have any experience/etiquette with hosting a guest so I laughed A LOT and VERY HARD! And if there is something you should know about me is that my laugh is THAT girl. Also, stay till the very end to hear a quick blooper! ENJOY! And to the Chatties who are here for the 1st time: WELCOME TO THE F*CKED UP FAM.
I suggest taking my How to Use a MIDI Keyboard as a Beatmaker course, or learning from my what to look for in a MIDI Keyboard article. Additionally, you can see my recommended MIDI Keyboards for FL Studio! As always, reach out any time by contacting me directly.Should you volume balance your songs? You've made the beat, and you love how it sounds nice and full, but you've seen tutorials tell you that you should now bring each instrument to the mixer, and try to re-mix the song. But.. think clearly for a second.. if you like the balance, should you try to “re-balance” your volumes and hope for that same balance? Getting the same balance is VERY HARD.. Adjust Instruments Where Needed.. With virtual instruments, like a ROMpler, we beatmakers ALREADY HAVE HIGH-QUALITY SOUNDS. The thing you must understand as a beatmaker is a lot of information is jumbled together with the recording world to us beatmakers, who just use MIDI and one-shot drum samples. When a recording engineer would record a musician, their recording levels would not ALWAYS be the same for each different instrument. This is where VOLUME BALANCING is important to bring up a BALANCE in the song. But for us beatmakers, if we play our melodies, we can quickly lower volume by one or two dB, and that's technically OUR volume balancing.. make sense? What about EQ and Compression? Well, the same idea applies. When you record an instrument or singer, the microphone is susceptible to many negative things like.. The Room Sound (if it's not acoustically treated). Distortion if Recorded TOO LOUD Inconsistency in Loudness (the singer or musician said some loud or quiet words).. As a beatmaker, all of these are easily remedied through MIDI. The room sound.. we can control this through adding/removing REVERB or DELAY! Distortion.. we can easily just turn down our Virtual Instrument! And inconsistency.. we can just adjust VELOCITY on an individual MIDI Note (learn more in my SAFE SPOTS Book). So when we are applying Equalization and Compression, the same concept doesn't fully apply for a recording to a virtual instrument melody. Yes, we want things to be clear, but we may not be EQing to FIX a bad recording.. we may just be EQing to MAKE an instrument sound better or more clear. How to Best Get Started Using MIDI? I suggest taking my How to Use a MIDI Keyboard as a Beatmaker course, or learning from my what to look for in a MIDI Keyboard article. Keenan Takahashi is a 30-year-old professional climber who has sent boulders up to V15. Originally from Davis, California, he started out as a skater and transitioned to climbing at about 17 years old. I wanted to talk with Keenan because–let's be honest–I love his moustachio… and because I wanted to understand what sets him apart from other climbers. He's climbed all over the world, he's in countless videos (just google his name), and he clearly tries VERY HARD to excel at this sport. He's intense and light-hearted all at the same time. He's confident and humble at the same time, and I admire all of those qualities very much. I was honored to have a Skype sit-down with him from his van in Yosemite. We talked about his journey in climbing and what sets him apart as a climber, which he thinks is his obsessive personality. Honestly, I've never thought that being obsessive was a positive quality, but after talking to him I kind of want to cultivate more of it in my climbing life. His pursuits of progression and perfection in bouldering have led to an illustrious resume so far, and the fact that he JUST started training a couple months ago makes me think that maybe he's just getting started. I walked away from this interview feeling soothed and inspired all at once. He's well-spoken and self-aware, which always makes for an excellent discussion, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Keenan Takahashi Interview Details How he developed as a climber How progression is the thing that drives him in all his pursuits How skateboarding and bouldering are similar How his obsessive nature has helped him Why climbing keeps him awake at night How visualizing climbs makes him climb better What “good tactics” are to him What sets him apart from other climbers How much to rest between burns Whether his body/recovery has changed since he was 17 Training now – his protocol and results he's seeing Plans after being a pro climber Show Links Instagram @keenantakahashi Work on your nutrition with me Photo Photo of Keenan in Bishop by @ktlambies Please Review The Podcast on iTunes Please give the podcast an honest review on iTunes here to help the show reach more curious climbers around the world.
"It is about Passion. Whatever you do in life there are two ways of looking at it - Very Hard and Very Easy, with a fine balance. If we choose the easy path it is not because its easy but you are determined and obsessed to achieve. It is very hard because you think it is hard."
Earning media coverage is hard. Doing that AND becoming an expert that media outlets turn to for quotes, comments and articles is VERY HARD. A year and a half ago, I recorded this episode after a VERY HARD first half of 2020. The moment it was released, my whole life changed for the better. We are replaying this episode today as a reminder. A reminder to be the change you need to be for yourself, your family and your community. OLD SHOW NOTES: Tales from the Prepper Pantry We had rain so I hope to do a batch of beets this week Added lamb to the freezer It is time to do the now quarterly freezer defrost and audit - a thing that has been keeping me honest on using stuff up Still drying herbs like mullein flower and bee balm Featured Forrage: Wild Raspberry For berry advice https://nicolesauce.com/2015/06/14/wild-raspberry-summer/ Herbal uses https://botanical.com/botanical/mgmh/r/raspbe05.html Tea: high in calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, and vitamins B, C, and E. Excessive menstruation Antidiahrreal Reduces fevers Operation Independence This whole show is about this topic, really Main topic of the Show: Change It is always there under the surface. Ready to push you just a bit further. Ready to get in your way when you are in your stride. Ready to show you opportunities when you are least ready for them. Always there no matter how much you wish to cling to today and yesterday. Change happens. Many people fear it, hate it, resist it. But change is part of life and if you are living, change is simply something that you must learn to integrate into everything. Because it will happen whether you want it or not. And yet we can guide change, we can shape it and shift it in ways that suit us. Yep. Change is hard but change is also good. I haven't done our usual lftn spring workshop debrief episode this year. You know the one I speak of? Where I run through it session by session and talk about all the things we did and learned and how powerful the community is when we get together? A community of doers… I haven't done this thing because this year was different. Now don't get me wrong, the workshop was fantastic, fun, hard, good, educational, and the community is why this is. But unlike former years where the best outcomes of the workshop were on the surface, this year was different. It was more subtle. The group was both quiet and social and sometimes raucous. The sessions were usually focused and thought provoking. The group had a comfortable companionship about it and conversations tended toward long and deep over surface and short. The whole time the event was happening I was worried that we would not meet the benchmark. You may wonder what the benchmark is. The benchmark for every lftn spring workshop is that at least 1 or 2 people figure things out. They find that it they have been missing. The thing that shows them a way forward toward building the kind of life they want. Usually, this happens quickly and obviously. But not this year. The day after the workshop, Jenni stopped by. You know who I mean. Jenny of Word of the Year Jenni - to get her stuff and she said - I think we turned a corner at the workshop. And she is right. There wasn't one or two “aha” experiences, but rather a more subtle shift for most of us there. Setting the stage for the workshop, we have seen the following in six short months: A strong financial environment to start out the year A scary pandemic illness that brought along with it the following: Population-wide acceptance of the top-down control of private lives. An awakening that people seem to want a crisis really badly - so they won't let go when new information comes to light Acceptance of politically charged narrative on a topic that should not be at all political - both sides have shamelessly used this pandemic to desperately further their agendas with no consideration for the impact on real people A media meltdown - To this day, media is frantically reporting increase in cases with no context on increase in testing, or link to hospital beds needed - the more important measure of the impact of covid. Literally - Tennessee saw it's largest spike in cases the same day that they also finalized testing of all people in all old folks facilities, for example. Government overreach in the form of shutting down private businesses - you can say what you want about if it was or was not the right move, but it was an overreach and court cases are starting to show this Destruction of our livelihoods, retirement accounts, educational facilities, ability to travel, and autonomy Racially - charged, divisiveness in a world where I truly believe most of us want to coexist -- followed by rioting to further the clear division between a and b, 1 and 0, r and d, because that is the only way to control us A recession that very well may melt into a depression, especially if the masses continue to let the oligarchy that runs this country bring us to ruin lest they lose power As a group, we had people facing sudden loss of jobs, income, business revenue - paired with people who are still doing basically ok, and even some who have seen growth as a result of the turmoil of the first half of this year. Perhaps you can tell by how I have framed this what I was feeling at the outset of our event: scared, a little sad, and scared some more. I got to pair all the big picture angst we all share with other, more personal stuff and that all ramped up the week before the workshop. And there I was, supposed to be the positive influence, the coach to help others find their purpose and go there. The find your opportunity lady doing an event that is supposed to spark the kind of change that brings people up. Let's just say the weekend before the workshop I had a pretty intense meeting with myself about my attitude and the need to focus on the most important and let go of the crap. Because when you think about opportunities and prosperity that we make for ourselves, much of it is SEEING that there is something there, but there is also the impact that a group of great minds can bring by deciding to make the change that will come into a positive change. And what better place to do it than here, in the Holler, where people come to rejuvenate? As we navigated topics like how to work through grief, how to make sauerkraut, how to easily make a hoop house, phases of building a business, and talked about the ideas that some folks have for starting new things -- my internal angst got lighter and lighter. As people played cornhole together, sang karaoke, shared food and fun -- things got lighter still. And sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, as Jenni said, we turned a corner. We stopped talking so much about the covid stuff, we stopped worrying about burning cities, the Trump and Biden jokes faded away, and we got real. Some people started taking stock. I know I did. Because I was wrong all along. Change is not coming. Change is here. It has been here the whole time, inviting me to take that next big step. And like the bad habit tempter that it is, the wealth of opportunities presented to me include some that will keep me stuck in the wrong place while I miss the boat to the better one. But you can't grab that boat if you can't see it is there. And to see the boat, you have to open your eyes. I am not really sure what everyone got out of the workshop this year. So many have reached out to me to say. Some who have been struggling to get their dreams going are starting. But I know what I got out of it this year. I got sight. All my life I have been preparing to soar. And I have soared here and there, and sunk other times. And all my life, I have been ready to weather something like the first six months of 2020. But these last 6 months are not my destination - they are a lesson about what has always been there. Change. Unpredictability. A subset of people who wish to be in control. These things simply are. And now I can see beyond them - I have often railed against that last category and will continue to do so. But think about what is on the other side of those people: the masses that ultimately cannot be controlled. Through all of this, the real opportunities are within you, within me, and within everyone else who is willing to first see, then act. It is that simple. We already have what we need to prosper, built in and we just need to turn the corner. To change. To make the choice to jump on that boat. And the best part is that this looks different for every single one of us. And what that means is that any solution that looks the same for everyone is the wrong solution. This small measure makes choices much easier to make. I was doing just fine before we all got together a week ago. There was no big risk of losing it all for me because I have been moving toward better stability for some years now. But the change that was there the whole time was largely energetic and perspective. Think about that - all in the mind and heart. An acceptance that now more than ever, it is the best time to change they way we want to. To make a move. To grab another bit of independence -- and to help others do the same. I apologized at the workshop for choosing the word grow for this year. Because in order to grow, something has to happen to motivate you and usually that thing is pain. And pain is something we have all felt this year as things have unfolded. But I am not sorry - sorrynotsorry. Because of covid, I know how insatiable my biggest source of income was -- and now it is gone so I get to focus on building something better. I can either grow the things I love, or try to get back what I once had. I choose grow. Because of the racial strife, I understand how much further we can go to build a society that decides based on merit, not heritage. I can either refuse to look at what is happening, or I can grow my understanding. I choose grow. Because we have landed in a recession, it is harder to leverage what I have to expand the rental properties, to close new deals, and to find things that used to be easy to get. I can either use recession as an excuse, or I can grow by business. I choose grow. Because many people in our world are easy to control, to leverage, to pit against one another, the oligarchy that has controlled us for basically every is gaining ground. I can either poke that oligarchy in the eye and moan about it, or I can help as many people around me grow beyond the chains. I choose grow. Yep, the change that happened at the workshop was not loud, it wasn't a fireworks moment, it wasnt an in your face thing. It was just a little shift. A small move from one not so bad track to a much better one. On little jump really. And now I can't wait to see what the next six months of 2020 brings! What about you? Set specific time aside to connect with like-minded individual, audit pages that are achieving what you hope to achieve with your page, and make some Gary V style “deposits”. Counsel Culture is more transformational than Cancel Culture. In this episode we will look at how I should have been canceled in the past with SEVERAL examples BUT we will learn how Counsel Culture made me redeemable! We examine the problematics of Cancel Culture and deconstruct it as a tool of whiteness and colonial thinking special thanks to Michelle Dew for this thought! We also look at the idea of Counsel Culture as anti-ist in nature and a form of indigenized thought (not decolonized thought thank you to Charissa Sundust) to fight for equity. We look at the notion of Counsel Culture, and why we need it, as well as how to engage in it to separate ideas from the person from with we are in counsel. We talk about steps to take to engage with Counsel Culture – we recognize that it is in fact VERY HARD. But we also see when we learn more about Counsel Culture we learn more how toxic ideas infect and hurt others and how to heal others into wholeness together with us.

HOW TO SELL AN IDEA IN ONE SIMPLE STEP by J Loren Norris You can work harder. You can work smarter. Or you can work RIGHT. When it comes to new and grand ideas, helping them spread, take hold and gain traction is NOT A MATTER OF WORKING HARDER. WORK HARDER: Many people want to “hold their cards close to the vest” and keep their idea protected. I get it. Intellectual property has a name and a value for a reason. Some of that has to do with the potential harm or good created by the idea when fully developed and activated. Some has to do with the lifetime dollar value of the idea in full fruition. Some of that reasoning is based purely on the vanity of the idea generator. They don't want to share secrets because they don't want to share glory so they work VERY HARD on their own until they succeed in spite of themselves or die trying. WORK SMARTER: Many people come across a brilliant idea and instantly realize and are willing to admit it is more than they can handle. Perhaps this idea demands more time or resource than they have themselves. Perhaps the idea isn't yet fully expressed in the first rendition. Perhaps, the power of synergy and likeminded brainstorming will make the idea better. So they recruit help and share bits and pieces of the idea with a few different assorted people. Now they have a team right? Not really. They have a gaggle of people with a stash of puzzle pieces and none of them have the box lid with a picture of the finished puzzle. They all have something to WORK WITH ( a tool means you're working smarter) but they have no idea what they're working on or toward. The result is a team of people working hard on a project with little likelihood of full success. WORK RIGHT: A few people realize the idea which came to them is NOT ABOUT THEM. It is about the significant impact that idea could have on the world. They see the benefit to humanity, world peace, saving the planet, empowering the underprivileged, creating genuine opportunity and they don't care who gets the credit, so they leap to action. The burden of need and the fiery passion of the idea collide igniting a wildfire of collaboration, synergy, shared talent, merged resources, exponential growth, rapid expansion and impact far beyond the imagination of the idea generator. THEY ARE WORKING RIGHT - you can't do it alone. Even if you could WHY WOULD YOU??!! How do you SELL YOUR IDEA in one SIMPLE STEP? GIVE IT AWAY!! Full blog: http://evoq.bike/blog/2020/1/13/what-... There are a LOT of blog posts about “What is VO2Max in cycling” and all of the science behind what VO2Max entails, so I will NOT be going into that in this post. What we want to look at is how to increase your VO2Max in cycling. What intervals should you be doing to increase your cycling VO2Max? VO2Max is when you are going VERY HARD for longer than about 1.5 minutes or so. VO2Max is when you are panting for air, and there is absolutely NO WAY you’re having any type of conversation. Said differently, it’s when you’re trying to drop someone. So, what VO2Max workouts can you do to start dropping your friends? Read on at the link above! Email me with questions or comment below! Please share with one friend if you like this post! Brendan@EVOQ.BIKE

Boy, that Parker luck really is the gift that keeps on giving, isn't it? When the Daily Bugle's most mediocre photographer gets sent to Gotham City to capture some images of the psychological hospital and prison known as Arkham Asylum, he ends up at ground zero for a huge breakout of superpowered psychopaths. This may not, strictly speaking, be a job for Spider-Man... but he's the only person who could possibly take on the many supervillains that are now running free through the asylum's darkened hallways. Will Spider-Man catch these criminals just like flies, or will the combined forces of Harley Quinn, the Scarecrow, Killer Croc, Bane, Poison Ivy, and the Joker have the last laugh? We have neither the great power nor the great responsibility to tackle this issue on our own. Fortunately we managed to rope in author, podcaster, and superhero scholar Joshua Unruh to break down comics' greatest rogues' gallery! Join us as Claire employs some psychological warfare of her own, Dan tries VERY HARD to be objective, Meganbob sexualizes the asylum itself, and Miles takes a bow in his final episode as a judge!

Fuck me, sorry, I seem to have managed to not do one of these for about two months. That totally took me aback, I have to confess. Ah well, I suppose it was inevitable. Due to slightly ambitious scheduling we ended up with four or five releases all being live at the same time in the late Winter/early Spring period and I was kind of overwhelmed with all the work which needed doing for all of them I am afraid, which kind of accounts for how overwhelmed I ended up getting. The Cherryblossomcast was suggested by Stephen Lappin on Twitter, as I took that picture over there of our front door once the two cherry trees which flank the gate started flowering this week. It's been sunny and gorgeous here in Edinburgh, and we've been doing that classic thing you do in Northern cities, and sitting outside and drinking too much absolutely every available sunny second, and sometimes persisting way after it's become far too cold to reasonably sit outside. It's just such a joyous relief to feel the warmth and the sunshine, much of a Winter fetish as I do have. 01. Garden of Elks - I Hid Inside (00.22)02. Rob St. John - Young Sun (06.02)03.
