Being the main character of your own life and building confidence only happens when you have focus. Our focus on the why behind our lives really does matter. Too often we are so busy living life that we never think about why.We call this survivor mode. A way of life for too many of usWe have to start living with purpose in the face of the busyness of lifeBusyness is a distraction and deception for too many of usWe want to escape the survivor mode by focusing our lives and we do that by recognizing some key mental traps that we can get caught up inTrap #1: Activity = Success- Everyone is busy today- Busyness isn't evil- Busyness isn't evil, but busyness isn't necessarily success either- The problem comes when we allow ourselves to take on the activity = success mindsetTrap #2: Riding vs Driving- The reality of the “Victim Mentality” and how it has permeated our society today- Question “Is life moving you are, or are you moving you”- Many of us act like we are on a roller coaster instead of driving a car- **Decide Your Destination**- **Evaluate Your Every Day** - The calendar is the greatest mirror of what your priorities really are - “Desires without discipline will only be dreams”- Use the Word No - We have to learn to say no to ourselves first - Men who can't control their own appetites can't control their life - We have to learn to say no to others - We have to say no to the urgent and unimportant - This is simple but not easyTrap #3: The “One Day” Dream- Our society pushes and showcases the “one-day” dream- One day will never happen if we aren't ready for it- The lottery mentality - dreaming of how you'll spend the millions but not doing anything to earn money now- Are you a good steward of what you have now?CHALLENGE- Ask yourself, “Why am I so busy” - Am I choosing what I do or allowing it to be selected for me? - Do this in the reality of your life. - Write out everything you are committed to, and how much time that takes each week, and look at that list. Are you setting yourself up for stress and overcommitment? - You can't control everything but what CAN you control- Start with the little daily decisions - Are you choosing how you live or just surviving in the little things of everyday life? - The “one-day” mentality comes from feeling overwhelmed with all the stuff life throws at us - Do you need all the decisions you have to make? - Start fixing the small areas and you will build up strength for the big areasWatch and Enjoy!David & Reese Maxwell RESOURCES TO HELP YOU THRIVE AS A MAN========================Thriving Man Coaching Resources4D MODEL FREE PDF

NOTES: Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.              2 Peter 3:3 CLUE #1: People will MOCK God's Word. For people will love only themselves and their money.                2 Timothy 3:1 CLUE #2: People will LOVE their MONEY. They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires.                       Jude 18 CLUE #3: People will mock Christian SEXUAL ETHICS. Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.                     1 Timothy 4:1 CLUE #4: People will INCREASINGLY love FALSE teaching. From this we know that the last hour has come. These people left our churches…                   1 John 2:19 CLUE #5: People will LEAVE the church. QUESTION #1: Do I REVERE God's Word? QUESTION #2: Do I SERVE money? QUESTION #3: Do I HONOR God with my desires? QUESTION #4: Do I let God's Word SEARCH me? QUESTION #5: Do I LOVE the Church?    BOTTOM LINE: When everything seems to be falling apart, everything is falling into place. THE CHALLENGE: Ask the QUESTIONS of yourself.         QUESTIONS? MANIME: Manly Lessons from Anime featuring "Rising of the Shield Hero" Part 1: Toughness vs Roughness

The Confident Man Podcast

This week we start a series that we are super excited about. We are combining two passions of ours: Anime and Thriving Men! Welcome to MANIME! The power of stories has been a constant throughout history and today some of the most powerful storytelling is through the Anime genre. We wanted to choose an anime that we felt had many lessons in it for us as men so we chose the show, “Rising of the Shield Hero.” We will discuss many things the protagonist, Iwatani Naofumi, goes through in season one. If you haven't seen the show, we would love for you to check it out before listening to the podcast, but you don't have to watch it to understand the lessons that we can learn through the shows. This week's show talks about Toughness vs Roughness. This is relevant to us because we all go through hard times in our lives. Sometimes it is because of things we have done and sometimes it is because of things that were done to us. Either way, these things can cause us to be tough or rough. Toughness is a necessary trait for us as men and it helps us succeed. Roughness can cause us to isolate ourselves and hurt relationships in our lives. As men, we want to be tough but not rough. We discuss what that looks like and why in this week's episode.Hard Times Hit Us All- Naofumi had it rough because he was betrayed hard! He was accused of something he didn't do, but everyone believed that he was guilty.- We see him struggle with this betrayal and the pain it causes him all through the first season- It causes him to grow in toughness- which isn't a bad thing. We see him get creative and the situation ends up leading to a lot of good.- We also see him struggle with his rage. His betrayal from the past colored all of his relationships- even with the people who were trying to help him.- Bitterness does that to all of us as men.- The issue is: that we can't see it as “our lonely burden” and isolate ourselves from everyone! Don't forget: all men go through hard times. Everyone suffers.- If we aren't careful, the pain and bitterness will cause us to reject everything and everyone- Naofumi projects this aura of being a grumpy man who doesn't care, but those closest to him see it isn't true cause he still treats people well.We Can't Let The Past Define Our Future- One of the best lessons we can learn from Naofumi is to not let the past determine our future- We see him not dwelling too much on the past but looking at what he can do right now- He decides to get help and becomes financially independent- He begins to make alliances and build his network of people to work with- This is his toughness being developed, which he needs.- We also see him moving on and not allowing the “reputation” he has to define him- We see him sometimes doing the right thing and then sometimes acting like a hurt child. This is normal and is part of the process of working through the grief of a painful past- Naofumi shows us that struggle in different aspectsDifficulties Develop Us- Difficulty when creatively embraced builds different muscles in us- We see in Naofumi that the difficulties he went through grew him and made him stronger- The other heroes don't ever grow in their development- We see that in society today among a lot of young men who aren't growing up because they have never gone through any difficulties in their life- Ease can make us whither - too much comfort and not doing hard things can make us weak- Hard things build up our mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical selves.CHALLENGE:- Ask yourself the question: “How do I treat people?” - Do you see everyone as your enemy? = This is a symptom of roughness- Where are you focusing your...

The Most Important Attitude Women Want in a Man

One of the biggest hindrances to a man's growth is insecurity. One of the most important attitudes that women want in a man is security. Is there any wonder why we are having so many relational problems today? Too many men are struggling with their insecurity so they can't bring a sense of security to the women they are trying to get close to. The problem for many men is they think being secure is being full of pride. This is because many men assume that men who are full of pride are secure. However, this isn't the case most of the time. Many men hide their insecurity by inflating themselves with pride. On today's show, we discuss the need for security among men and why women want it in their men. We also discuss what real security is and why it isn't the bad version of pride.Security=Combination of being Genuinly Humble and Confident- It's all about Knowing who you are, Where you are headed in life, and being comfortable with yourself.- When a man is secure in who he is, people (including women) usually want to be around themPride hides weaknesses- Because pride is like self-worship, it lives in denial- Prideful men don't want others to see them mess up and they work hard to maintain their “image”- Women don't like men who lie to themselves because they will often lie to everyone else to maintain their imageSecurity laughs at weaknesses- A secure man knows that he is a human being with strengths and weaknesses, and is ok with that.- Secure men are ok with telling you how they messed up- Women like a man who doesn't take themselves too seriously.- Pride puts others down - When a man is quick to put others down, it is his pride showing - Insecure men are often the ones who have to make fun of others so they feel good about themselves- Security lifts people up - Secure men realize other people are human beings with imperfections and know when to cut them slack. - They know that other people are growing too. - This doesn't mean secure men don't hold people accountable - Women don't want a man to be a dictator that tears them down- they want a man that believes in them and lifts them up.Challenge:- Ask yourself, “How do I treat people who can do nothing for me?” store clerk, Walmart check out, waiter, or waitress- We must be willing to look at our life honestly and see if our motivations are based on pride or security- Thriving men are secure men- This doesn't mean we are perfect but it means we are on a journey of growth and positive change- You will be a better man and women will find you more attractiveWatch and Enjoy!David & Reese Maxwell RESOURCES TO HELP YOU THRIVE AS A MAN========================Thriving Man Coaching Resources:https://www.thrivingman.com/coaching4D MODEL FREE PDFLearn about the 4 fundamentals of a Successful Lifehttps://www.thrivingman.com/the-4d-modelFIND OUT ABOUT OUR SPEAKING AND HOW WE HAVE EMPOWERED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ACROSS THE WORLDhttps://www.thrivingman.com/speaking

Episode 101 - Finding Joy part 8 - GenerosityGenerosity is the 8th and final pillar of joy. It is a culmination of all the other pillars. When you can see with perspective, humility and humor, when you accept reality and not fight against it, when you can forgive yourself and others, be grateful for all you've been given, show compassion for life itself, you are being generous. Joy is making space for your whole human life, the good, the bad, and the ugly, and continuing to move forward.Take aways:#1 - What you focus on will grow bigger. With yourself and with others. Focusing on the good and being generous with yourself and others is not burying your head in the sand. It is purposefully choosing to see and emphasize the good. When you do this, it will grow. #2 - When your life is being contracted or desolated, be generous with how you treat yourself. Be generous with kindness, compassion, thoughts, and actions. When you see others in desolation or contraction, exercise generosity with them too. The give and take of your life and others lives is our common humanity and it bonds us together. Challenge:Ask yourself: How can I feel generosity today for my trials? How can I transform my problem into an opportunity to give to others? When we give joy to others, we experience joy ourselves. We are all spiritually connected and when we give to others, it benefits everyone, including ourselves. Are you the parent of a young adult? Were you surprised when you got to this stage of life that it's harder to be the parent of a young adult than the parent of a teenager? I sure was. Here's the thing – you can't parent your young adult the same way your parents did. If you try to do that, you could do some real damage to your relationship with them. If this is you, I have a free training for you: “10 Important Tips to Improve Your Relationship with Your Young Adult.” Click here to download your free copyYou'll be surprised at some of these tips, and you'll feel like you finally have a road map to navigate this tricky time in your life and your child's life.

Hailey Inhale is a 200+hr RYT, western astrologer, chakra expert, tarot divination guide, and leader of guided meditation and sound healing. She survived violence from childhood and followed that pattern into womanhood where she learned to take radical responsibility for my life and break these general curses. In her own healing process, Hailey melded together all of her teachings in order to alleviate problems like CPTSD, depression, panic, and anxiety. Upon the success of these practices in her personal experience, she discovered a way to use bits and pieces of all of them to create ‘Yoga Resolutions: Healing through the Chakras'. This 16 week program is designed to rewire the subconscious mind through movement and symbolism, and bring your brain out of survival mode so you may remember your innate Magick and let your light shine unapologetically. Healing isn't all love and light. You have to recognize the shadows and traumas within to begin to grow into the person you have always dreamed of being. This doesn't take a few days or months. Healing yourself doesn't mean that you will fix that one part of you and never have to experience pain or triggers with it again. Those are myths and the truth is the journey is more important that the destination. In this interview, Alyssa and Tara chat with Hailey about ways to start your healing journey without reopening your wounds. Hailey teaches that you can ease into your healing by taking one step at a time and listening to your body along the way. If you have felt like regular therapy hasn't worked for you or you just don't know where to get started, then this episode is for you! This Week's Challenge: Ask your body what it needs from you today. We would love to create magick with you in our Weaving Magick Community! https://www.patreon.com/weavingmagickpodcastConnect with us on our Weaving Magick socials:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/weavingmagickpodcastTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@weavingmagickpodcastTwitter: https://twitter.com/taraandalyssaYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOhzGt9TvZr8SU_h8YHTSEQTo get to know Tara:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamtarawebb/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@iamtarawebbTo get to know Alyssa:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thealyssalilly/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thealyssalilly Support the show

I'm excited to welcome you to a special episode of the Mother's Quest Podcast that I am extremely grateful for, just in time for Thanksgiving, featuring the amazing Julie Lythcott-Haims and my 17-year-old son Ryan Neale. Julie is an incredible mother to two, a former Stanford Dean and New York Times bestselling author of the anti-helicopter parenting manifesto How to Raise an Adult, which gave rise to a TED Talk that has more than 5 million views. Her second book is the critically-acclaimed and award-winning prose poetry memoir Real American, which illustrates her experience as a Black and biracial person in white spaces. I'm so fortunate to have had the opportunity to interview Julie for the podcast several years ago when that book was first released. When I heard about Julie's new book Your Turn: How to Be an Adult, I knew I wanted to invite her back to the podcast again. And, I hoped that my son Ryan, on the threshold of adulthood himself, would join us in the conversation. The stars aligned and Ryan was available the day of the interview, enabling Julie, Ryan, and I to explore the concepts of her book, about navigating adulthood and embracing our differences, especially our neurodiversity, in deeply personal and relevant ways.  In this episode, I'm also excited to share a dedication from Deborah Reber, former podcast guest, fellow mother on a quest, and host of the TiLT Parenting Podcast.Deborah's heart-felt dedication honors Julie and other mothers raising neurodivergent children. I could not agree more with Deborah's assessment about what an exceptional human Julie is, about the power of Julie's commitment to put the stories of a diverse group of young people with different identities on the pages of her book, and about the impact of Julie's work for normalizing and honoring differences.  As you hear our conversation unfold, I know you'll be as struck as I was by Julie's wisdom and humility as she talks with Ryan, helping him to understand that he deserves to be cherished for who he is, that he can approach things like writing in ways that work for his differently-wired mind, and that he can seek out environments, like college, that enables him to play to his strengths and allow him to thrive. Since our conversation, Ryan was able to take Julie's advice to heart, using voice to text without shame to write his personal statement for college applications and sharing his personal insights on a panel at the recent Stanford Neurodiversity Summit. You can follow the link in the show notes to listen. Finally, this conversation is a demonstration that there is no destination to becoming an adult, but an ongoing journey of learning and discovery, that parents and their children can support one another in reciprocity with curiosity, and that we can all benefit from asking ourselves the question from Mary Oliver's famous poem, that Julie gives us as our challenge, “What is it that we want to do with our one wild and precious life?”As we approach Thanksgiving, the five-year birthday of the launch of Mother's Quest, and my 50th birthday, I can say there is nothing I'd rather do than hold space for a conversation like this one and share it with you.   About Julie: Julie Lythcott-Haims believes in humans and is deeply interested in what gets in our way. She is the New York Times bestselling author of the anti-helicopter parenting manifesto How to Raise an Adult which gave rise to a TED Talk that has more than 5 million views. Her second book is the critically-acclaimed and award-winning prose poetry memoir Real American, which illustrates her experience as a Black and biracial person in white spaces. A third book, Your Turn: How to Be an Adult, is out now. Julie is a former corporate lawyer and Stanford dean, and she holds a BA from Stanford, a JD from Harvard, and an MFA in Writing from California College of the Arts. She serves on the board of Common Sense Media, and on the advisory board of LeanIn.Org, and she is a former board member at Foundation for a College Education, Global Citizen Year, The Writers Grotto, and Challenge Success. She volunteers with the hospital program No One Dies Alone. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her partner of over thirty years, their itinerant young adults, and her mother.    Connect with Julie:  Website  Twitter Instagram LinkedIn   About RyanRyan Neale is a neurodivergent 12th Grader from San Mateo, California. His parents discovered he was differently wired when he was 18 months old but he has been in fully mainstream education for his academic career, with most people around him not knowing about some of the struggles that he faces. His experiences publicly masking his neuro differences have given him a unique perspective on many of the struggles neurodiverse people face, such as public stigma, ableism, and the ever-present desire to fit in. As he has begun advocating more for his needs, he has high hopes to use his perspective and communication skills to increase public understanding of neurodiversity, and hopefully create a more inclusive society for everyone. In his free time, he enjoys playing varsity basketball for his high school team, coaching youth sports, roughhousing with his little brother, and diving headfirst into his many fantasy special interests. He is thrilled to have participated in this fall's Stanford Neurodiversity Summit on a K-12 student panel. You can listen to the panel here. Connect with Ryan:  Instagram   Topics Discussed in this Episode: How Julie's experience listening to students as a Stanford Dean and raising her own children led her to write a book about young adults The painful admission Julie shared about overlooking her own son Sawyer's challenges with ADHD and anxiety and the poignant moment when her son acknowledged Julie's shift in understanding him  The ways that Ryan identifies as neurodivergent, how he has adapted, and the pain he has experienced trying to fit in a neurotypical world  Julie's advice to Ryan about embracing who he is Her recommendation of the book Normal Sucks by Jonathan Mooney  The revelations parents can take from Julie's book How to help young adults figure out what next steps to take on their path to becoming an adult  The lessons Julie has personally gained from writing her books Julie's words of wisdom for Ryan on how to move through his resistance of writing by trying methods that might work better for his differences and strengths  The biggest takeaway that Julie learned in her research and in her own journey writing the book about how to be vulnerable and connected and open to the support of others so that you don't have to feel alone Julie's challenge for all of us that can help us live our best lives as adults   Resources and Topics Mentioned: Ep 52: Third Chapters, Raising Adults, and Loving Ourselves with Julie Lythcott-Haims  Normal Sucks by Jonathan Mooney  Julie's books Julie's Ted talk    This Episode's Challenge: Ask yourself the question from Mary Oliver's famous poem, “what do I want to do with this one wild and precious life?” Explore what would you do if it was only up to you...if nobody else's opinion really mattered. Beastmode may do more harm than good in your relationships. You may have a great relationship with your workout and meal prep, but you may have some more work to do regarding interpersonal communication and connection. Wellness is not just physical. Wellness extends past physical. It is financial. It is emotional. It is spiritual. It is intrapersonal. It is psychological. It is self care. It is interpersonal... and more. On this episode of Ask Dr. Joy Well exclusively on the Challenge Yo Self podcast, Dr. Joy discusses how to win interpersonally. Introducing the scale of wellness from 1 to 10 with 1 being "I'm not pursuing wellness" and 10 being "Wellness in various phases is a priority actively." What's your number and why? Interpersonal wellness is producing solid, respectful communication with people, near and far. How do you relate to others and how do others relate to you? Challenge: Ask 3 people you trust to give you a honest answer on how they perceive you and your behaviors. This podcast introduces 5 steps to increased interpersonal communication: 1. Gain more self-awareness - Are you aware of how you feel, think and believe... and how you relate to others? 2. Curiosity is a game changer. Take the time to open up and get out of your own head. 3. Conversation is an art. Know your audience. Assess verbals and nonverbals. Adjust accordingly. 4. Create well-formed questions. Know the difference between open-ended and closed-ended questions. 5. Deal with your darkness or it will deal with you. Make peace with your past. Confront your triggers. Now, let's look at your interpersonal wellness scale of 1 to 10. With 1 being "hot mess lane with room to grow" all the way up to 10 (able to navigate interpersonal communication solidly). What's your number? Why? Send us a message and let us know your score! A group of tourists visiting a picturesque village walked by an old man sitting beside a fence. In a rather patronizing way, one tourist asked him, “Were any great men born in this village?” The old man replied, “Nope, only babies.”How true. No one is born fully grown. We are all born as babies. The same is true in our spiritual lives.Every person who is a born-again believer starts life as a baby in Christ. Whether the new convert is six or sixty, that person is still a new Christian and needs to grow in the Lord. A baby Christian who has been saved for forty years is a tragedy. God intends for us to grow and mature in our faith. Over time, and as we apply God's Word to our lives, we are to grow in God's grace to become spiritually mature.2 Peter 3:18 - “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”Charles Spurgeon once said, “There is a vast difference between grace growing and our growing in grace. God's grace never increases; it is always infinite, so it cannot be more; it is always everlasting; it is always bottomless. It cannot be more; and, in the nature of God, it could not be less.So we understand God's grace is not growing. We already have all the grace we need. But we are to grow in his grace. What are some evidences that we are growing in God's grace? First, there will be an increased love for God and for others.1 Thessalonians 3:12 - ““and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another”A second evidence would be an increase of our knowledge of God. Colossians 1:10 says we are to “bear fruit in every good work and increase in the knowledge of God.Third, we grow in grace as we see an increase of faith in God. The more we learn to trust him, the more we grow. The question remains…how do we grow in grace? God has a lot of tools to help us grow. Since growth is his will for us, he will provide the opportunities and experience that will cause us to grow. Sometimes it is unpleasant. Sometimes it is even painful, but the end result is good because the circumstances caused us to grow in the grace of God.We can grow as we use the Word of God. Bible knowledge alone doesn't produce spiritual growth. There are many people who know lots of scripture, but they are dead spiritually. We grow as we use God's Word. We grow as we obey it and apply it's truths to our lives. It here that the Bible becomes a powerful agent for our spiritual growth. We grow in grace through worship and fellowship with other believers. I believe Satan knows the strength we gain through gathering with other Christians and this is why he tries so hard to keep us from meeting together. He will provide obstacles, distractions, and hindrances to tempt you to miss gathering with other believers. But when we worship together, when we fellowship together there are tremendous opportunities for spiritual growth. Finally, we grow in grace through our trials and difficulties. Strong faith is tested faith. In adversity we learn first hand of God's love, strength, wisdom, and peace. Had we not gone through the difficulties, we would not have experienced these blessings.Grow in grace: All growth is by grace; it's God's gift. We must constantly ask him in prayer to make us grow. We need God's grace, not only when we first believe in Christ, but we need it again and again, to become the people God wants us to be.Today's Challenge: Ask yourself a serious question: Am I growing in God's grace? Am I becoming more spiritually mature? Am I more like Jesus today than I was a year ago? Ask God for the grace to grow to be all God desires you to be.

5 Pitfalls To Growth, And What To Do About Them

Provoking Your Greatness - Misti Burmeister

Without growth, companies, teams, leaders, and careers stagnate. Stagnation leads to hording, silos, distrust, conflict, and tension. Without a growth-provoking intervention, such stagnation quickly causes complacency, hording of resources, turnover, or worse yet, disengagement. Disengaged employees not only fail to do their best work, but they actively share their negativity with colleagues and customers alike, sabotaging your reputation and halting growth. To avoid the stench of stagnation, consider stepping up to the challenges associated with each the following 5 pitfalls to growth: Failure to continue learning “I don’t have time to read, listen, watch… to master a new skill, to learn about a new industry, or focus on building new relationships… I am busy!” In fairness, I get it—you are busy. And, considering your commitment to growth, here are a few questions to provoke clarity of direction.  Challenge: Ask yourself, “What am I (or my team) so busy striving to achieve, specifically? And, why does success matter to me?” Be honest with yourself before you move to the next question—“If I had extra time and plenty of resources, what would I want to learn about, who would I want to meet, and what event would I attend?” Exposing yourself to new industries, topics, sports, and conferences leads to innovation, ideas, and interests that fuel passion, enthusiasm, and growth. Refuse to share The prevailing thought is—if I share what I know, I’ll be replaced by younger and cheaper labor. In truth, the more you share, the more trusted and respected you become. The more you share what you know, the more time you’ll have to keep advancing, making you even more valuable.  Challenge: Ask yourself, “What project could I bring others into right now, or in the next three months? Who needs to be introduced to whom? Who might be interested in learning and contributing to this project, or attending important meetings with me? What skills/experiences would I like to gain in the next six months, and how can I begin sharing what I know so that I have the time and energy for growth? Failure to continuously communicate “I told them the goal… why do they need constant reminders? I hired them to get the job done… they should focus on doing their job.” They should is a trap that kills enthusiasm and growth faster than any economic downturn ever could. Challenge: Ask yourself, “Do I know my specific goal and why it matters to me? Do I authentically care about the goal? When was the last time I shared my passion, our progress and encouraged others to do the same? How do I keep my vision, enthusiasm, passion, direction, and progress out in the open consistently?” Avoid difficult conversations “I would rather get a root canal than have that conversation,” a senior executive at a Fortune 500 company said after I encouraged him to address a vastly underperforming senior leader with truth and accountability. Joel Salatin of PolyFace Farms said, “Disruption is critical to growth.” This is true whether we’re talking about growing grass, livestock, relationships, or the bottom line. Challenge: Ask yourself, “What conversation am I avoiding, and what are the costs associated? What are the positive (and negative) outcomes associated with having an open and honest conversation?” Failure to pause/reflect We don’t bat an eye at spending countless hours researching and figuring out how to use our new cell phone and all the awesome applications. We invest our time, money, and resources in getting the best gadgets on the planet, forgetting that we are our most valuable resource. Imagine the difference you could make for yourself if you stopped to notice the moments you feel joyful or irritable. Such information could greatly aid your overall energy, enthusiasm and excitement for your work, your team, and your life.  Challenge: Open your calendar and ask yourself, “Where can I block off 20 minutes each day for silence/reflection?” No distractions. Be with yourself, journal about your thoughts, notice and watch as your life transforms in the coming weeks. Your 20-minute time block might shift from one day to the next, but the key is to do it every day.  When you intentionally put your focus on growth, challenging yourself to communicate, share and reflect, opportunities will continually present themselves, allowing not only for your growth, but for everyone around you, and your bottom line. When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place, Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled he whole house where they were sitting, They saw what seemed to be tongues of firer that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Miracles won't sustain the soul only Jesus can do that.Acts 2:5-13 Now there were in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren't all these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome 9both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs – we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?” Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.”God longs to give his Spirit to people.Luke 11:13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!The tongues of fire unified the people and erased the curse of Babel.Dec. 3, 2015 14 Dead in San Berdino California, Daily News: God Isn't Fixing This.”The heart of the power of Pentecost in Acts is power for ministry.Challenge: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the ministry he has for you.
