The Lord says: “This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?” Jesus Christ is our only source of salvation. We have got to stop striving and trying to earn God's favour. You can't work your way to Heaven. It is for free. His love and His favour are free. Free means gratis, for nothing - not for nothing, it cost Jesus Christ His life, so that your sins and my sins could be washed away. You see, you can't pay for it, you can't work for it, and you can't earn it! You have just got to believe it.That beautiful scripture in Ephesians 2:8:"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,…” What a beautiful scripture, and we thank the Lord for it, because that is where you and I can put our trust and hope in. We only have to believe. Now let's finish this race, you and I, the way we started, by just saying thank you to the Lord. He paid for it all. Remember that little song? We have sung it before.  After all the wonders for most of Solomon's reign, all the benefits and blessings he had inherited from his father David, Solomon's greatness – we would say – humanly speaking – went to his head.  We read today “when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart … “ [1 Kings 11 v.4]     A significant factor in this was that he married many foreign wives who worshipped idols.   We are told “the LORD was angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the LORD” [v.9]  His foreign wives had influenced him in his worship, so “the LORD raised up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite.”[v.14]  There were others, “God also raised up as an adversary to him, Rezin, the son of Eliada” [v.23]  Our English translations disguise the fact that the word ‘adversary' in Hebrew is ‘Satan.'     The fundamental meaning of ‘satan' is someone who opposes you.  The first occasions the word is used in Scripture is in Numbers 22 v.22 and 32 to describe how the angel God sent to encounter the false prophet Balaam, who had some knowledge of the LORD, that this angel was an “adversary” to him – sent by God “to oppose” him.     We read earlier this week how Jesus said to Peter, “Get behind me Satan!  For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.” [Mark 8 v.33]  Later, some Jewish synagogues were becoming so opposed to the growing Christian communities that they are described as “a synagogue of Satan” [Rev.2 v.9]     Are there any satans in your life?  If so, can it be that you are being tested as Jesus was by Peter?  Or “the synagogue of Satan” that tested believers in Smyrna.  They were told, “Do not fear what you are about to suffer: behold the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested … you will have tribulation.  Be faithful unto death and I will give you the crown of life … The one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death” when Jesus comes [v.10,11]  Let us conquer any adversaries or adversities.  How wonderful the promise, “The one who conquers … I will never blot his name out of the book of life.  I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.” [Rev 3 v.5]

1 Kings 12 tells us of Rehoboam's folly following the death of Solomon. Rehoboam fails to heed the wise counsel of the elders and rather harkens to the ridiculous reasoning of his entitled peers. The outcome of this is the division of the kingdom, as prophesied by Ahijah. Jeroboam is termed in scripture "the man who caused Israel to sin". Jeroboam set up two golden calves - the one in the north at Dan; and the other in Beersheba in the south. Rehoboam sent his treasurer to collect the tribute from Israel. But they stoned the treasurer causing Rehoboam to flee in his chariot. Rehoboam then mustered his army but was dissuaded from fighting against his brethren by the prophet Shemaiah who tells the king that the division is from the LORD. To his credit Rehoboam responded to the Word of God and sent the army home. King Jeroboam from the northern branch of the divided kingdom next changes the timing of the feast of worship from the seventh to the eighth month. This idolatrous man made his priests from the lowest of the people. All of this was designed to maintain the division. Jeroboam was fearful that Israel might, if they went to the Feast in Jerusalem, be reconciled to Rehoboam. This 38th chapter of Jeremiah told of the malevolent treatment afforded the prophet at the hands of the treacherous princes casting him into the mire (mud) of the cistern. He was rescued by the kind and faithful Ethiopian, Ebed-melech. Our Sovereign recompensed the Ethiopian eunuch's kindness to Yahweh's prophet. After his deliverance Jeremiah presented his entreaties secretly to the king. Jeremiah again counsels the king to save Judah by surrendering to the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar.Mark 12 begins with the parable of the tenants of the vineyard which spoke of Israel. The parable tells of the constant rejection of God's servants, the prophets; and the ultimate sin of Israel in rejecting the Son of the Father. The nation's wicked rulers saw themselves in Jesus' words and fulfilled the prophecy of our Lord in plotting Jesus' death. Christ's enemies make several attempts to undermine our Lord's authority. The chapter shows that each prominent party posed hypothetical questions. The first was from an alliance of the Herodians, who were pragmatists who were prepared to cooperate with Rome, and the arch enemies of the Herodians - the Pharisees. The question from this unholy alliance was on taxation. The master not only answers majestically, but he directs their minds to God's claims on them. We are next told of the Sadducees posing their question on resurrection. This sect were the priestly class. They were wealthy and used their power to accumulate wealth. The Sadducees did not accept the teaching of the resurrection; nor any of the Scriptures apart from the 5 Books of Moses. These hypocrites were likewise confounded by incontestable proof from Exodus 3 - one of the five writings that were accepted by them - of the raising of the dead. The Scribes with the Pharisees pose a problem to our Lord as to which commandment was the greatest. Jesus answers by showing that the entire message of the Law and the Prophets hung equally on the love of God and the love one's neighbour. Christ then turns the tables on his foes through a simple question in two parts;- 1) whose son is the Messiah (easy they thought - David's of course); and, part 2) how then in Psalm 110 is the Christ spoken of as David's Lord? The inescapable answer was that the Christ, Messiah, was greater because he was the Son of God as well as son of David. Paul writes, "Grace to you and peace from God ourFather and the Lord Jesus Christ." We could spend several weeks juston this one small verse, that starts with the word grace. The word graceis used 12 times in the book of Ephesians. It refers to the kindness of Godtoward undeserving people. Some people abbreviate that by saying that grace is God'sunmerited favor. That's what grace is.  Overthe years I have also expanded the description of Biblical grace to say thatgrace is God giving us everything we need to be able to fulfill and do the willof God and to find fulfillment in Christ Jesus. Peter said it this way: “Graceand peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, asHis divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness,through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which havebeen given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through theseyou may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption thatis in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:2-4). Whenyou read through Paul's epistles you will notice that he begins every letterwith the greeting, “grace to you and peace from God our Father and the LordJesus Christ”. Paul is really big on God's grace. Paul finishes everyletter speaking of God's grace; “Grace be unto you from our Lord JesusChrist”. Next time you read through Paul's epistles be sure to notice this.Grace is a big thing with the Apostle Paul because it's a big thing with God.  TheBible tells us in John chapter 1 that the law was given by Moses, but grace andtruth came by Jesus Christ. You want to know what God's grace is? Look full inthe face of Jesus Christ and there you'll see God's grace because what you needis found in Christ. That's why Paul mentions grace and peace together so often.Now tomorrow we're going to talk about peace with God and the peace of God. Buttoday we are looking at God's grace. As I said, we desperately need God's graceto be all that we should be for the glory of God.  Graceis God giving us the desire to be saved. One of the most famous verses in theNew Testament is Ephesians 2:8- 9. “For by grace are you saved through faithand that not of yourselves. It's the gift of God, not of works, lest any manshould boast.” A person does not get saved without God giving you thegrace, giving you the desire to be saved. And when does God give you the desireto be saved? We find the answer to that in James 4:6, and also 1 Peter 5:5-6. Andthey both quote the same thing out of the Old Testament book of Proverbs 3:34. Thisis where Solomon wrote that God gives grace to the humble.  Jamesand Peter in their verses make it clear that “God resists the proud, but Hegives grace to the humble”. When we humble ourselves, when we have contritehearts. When we are broken. When we become desperate for God and the peace ofGod recognizing our great need of God's forgiveness for our sin, it is thenthat God looks down upon our humble heart and He gives us grace. First, Hegives us the desire to get saved and then He gives us the willingness to getsaved and then He actually saves us by His grace.  Oneof my favorite verses about grace is found in 1 Corinthians 15:10, where theApostle Paul proclaims, "But by the grace of God, I am what I am. AndHis grace toward me was not in vain, but I labored more abundantly than theyall. Yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me."  Paul acknowledges that, "EverythingI am and everything I hope to be and everything I have accomplished for thepurposes of God is only by His grace”. Yes,my friend it is God's grace that gives us the desire, the power, the ability todo what God wants us to do. That's why Paul would write in all his letters and say,"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord JesusChrist." Everything we really need today comes from Him.

For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. Bryan Kohberger's Chilling Calls to Mom Hours After Idaho Murders On November 13, 2022, just hours after brutally taking the lives of four University of Idaho students, Bryan Kohberger reached for his phone—not to call for help, but to call his mother. What unfolded over the next several hours is one of the most revealing—and disturbing—patterns in the case. Phone records and location data show a meticulous killer who turned his phone off during the murders to avoid detection, only to light it up minutes later for long conversations with his parents. At 6:13 a.m., back in his Pullman apartment, Kohberger tried calling “Mother.” No answer. He called “Father,” then tried her again—this time speaking for 36 minutes. By 8:03 a.m., he was on the road to Moscow again, heading straight past the murder scene, still talking to his mom for 54 minutes. Minutes after passing the King Road house, another call. And later that day, two more calls—one lasting over an hour and a half. Investigators say these calls weren't unusual for him. Kohberger often contacted his parents early in the morning, sometimes as early as 4 a.m. But in the context of that day, they raise haunting questions: Was he seeking comfort? Trying to maintain normalcy? Or creating a cover story? This deep dive into Kohberger's relationship with his parents—and his reliance on them as his primary social contact—reveals a pattern of dependence and control. It also shows the chilling duality of his behavior: “invisible” during the crime, then “ordinary” as soon as it was over. In John 17, Jesus is offering this kind of prayer, but it's a prayer that echoes into eternity, and it is not just for the twelve gathered there that night. It's for us. We are included in this blessing, this conferral of identity and destiny. We are told who we are in God's family, what our inheritance is as His children. What is spoken over us here is the message of life in the Son—the Gospel conferred as a gift, received freely. From this gift of Christ flow so many others: gifts of unity, gifts of protection, the gift of joy, the gift of God's Word, and supremely, the gift of Christ himself. Jesus prays, “Father, you have given me your name. Now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are.” We are blessed with unity in Him. He says, “I have given them your word.” In His word, we find joy, our identity, the assurance that we are loved. He gives himself as a sacrifice for us, setting us apart, making us holy by his truth. And finally, he says, “I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.” The presence of Christ in us is our hope, our glory, our very life. This abiding blessing is the Christian life: God pouring out his love, his joy, his strength, his word, his presence—his life—into ours. So let your roots go down deep into the love of God. May you discover, each day, how wide, how long, how high, how deep is Christ's love for you. May you experience the fullness of this life and power, made complete in Him. This is the prayer for my soul. This is the prayer for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And this is the prayer I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Jesus is my shepherd, you have called me by my name into the life of the beloved. Here in the stillness, I remember that I am not alone. I belong to you and to the great communion of saints and sinners held together in your love. Bryan Kohberger's Chilling Calls to Mom Hours After Idaho Murders On November 13, 2022, just hours after brutally taking the lives of four University of Idaho students, Bryan Kohberger reached for his phone—not to call for help, but to call his mother. What unfolded over the next several hours is one of the most revealing—and disturbing—patterns in the case. Phone records and location data show a meticulous killer who turned his phone off during the murders to avoid detection, only to light it up minutes later for long conversations with his parents. At 6:13 a.m., back in his Pullman apartment, Kohberger tried calling “Mother.” No answer. He called “Father,” then tried her again—this time speaking for 36 minutes. By 8:03 a.m., he was on the road to Moscow again, heading straight past the murder scene, still talking to his mom for 54 minutes. Minutes after passing the King Road house, another call. And later that day, two more calls—one lasting over an hour and a half. Investigators say these calls weren't unusual for him. If you can remember at least one time that happened to you, you understand the importance of living out your faith, “Right Now.”  That's why I want to talk to you tonight about the power of “right now.”  There are three things that we can start doing that will take our faith from theory to practice every single day.  All we need to do is: 1.     Encourage right now 2.    Connect right now 3.    Pray right now   1.    Encourage Right Now Paul talks about the power of right now in Ephesians 5:15-20.  “15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Paul tells us to be very careful how we live.  Why, because the days are evil.  That's why we need to realize the power of right now and make the most of every opportunity.  Ø Right now people are struggling with temptation Ø Right now disciples are targeted by Satan Ø Right now friends you know are dealing with health issues Ø Right now Christians are considering leaving God and his church Ø Right now people you thought were solid are feeling shaky How can you help?  §  Encourage people right now §  Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit §  Share scriptures that encourage you §  Praise people §  Thank people §  Lift people up §  Share positively about people who aren't here right now o  I really appreciate Stuart.  His work in Boston has inspired me and is one of the reasons Pam and I wanted to move here.  He is an extremely encouraging person. Often times we know these things and we have positive thoughts about others, but we don't take advantage of the power of now to encourage others.  Let's make the most of this opportunity by turning to the person next to you and encourage them with: §  Positive words §  Gratitude §  A scripture §  Praise   2.   Connect Right Now Let's read Colossians 4:5, “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.”  Paul says we need to be wise in how we deal with those aren't following Jesus.  We need to make the most of every opportunity.  God gives us opportunities every day to help those around us.  If we want to see God work in our life, we need to connect every day. On my first Sunday, I was sitting in front of a couple that I could tell were visiting.  I introduced myself and they shared they were here for the first time.  A few minutes later I saw someone else talking to them and being kind to them.  That brother understood the power of right now.  At the end of the service, I looked back and they were gone, but I know that brother had exchanged information with them.  He had made the most of every opportunity.  God gives us opportunities to love and serve those around us every day.  We just need to be aware and ready to make the most of every opportunity. Ø When we are at work Ø When we are in an elevator Ø When we are checking out of the store When I arrived, the first thing I did was ask Stuart for some invitation cards to connect when God gave me an opportunity.  It's been so much fun to connect and see the power of now: Ø My movers Ø Dunkin Donuts Ø Roche Brothers I think one of the easiest ways aside from reaching out at church on Sunday is simply texting your friends and letting them know what you are doing.  It's soft, it's gentle, it's loving and if they're aren't interested they can ignore you.  However, a simple text can change a person's life.  Let's take advantage of the power of now.  Pull out your phone and text a friend or coworker.  Just text them something loving like:  “Just thinking about you.  Hope you are doing well.”  If you want to go an extra step, you can add, “I'd love for you to join me this Sunday at church” 3.   Pray Right Now How else can we make the most of right now?  We can pray for each other in the moment.  I can't tell you how many times I've said “I'll pray for you” and then forgot to do it.  But then I found a way to avoid that.  When someone shares something serious, heavy, or worthy of prayer, I use that as a trigger to pray right then and there.  Prayer makes a difference, but if you never follow through, you missed the power of right now.  Look at how James describes how powerful prayer really is:  “13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. 17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. 19 My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.” James writes that if we or someone we know is going through something, anything-our first response should be to pray.  Why?  Prayer is powerful and effective.  Prayer moves God.  God can do anything.  He then launches into a story about Elijah, who he says was a normal person just like us.  His prayers changed weather patterns.  Would you like to save someone from death, bring wanderers back, return people to the truth and cover over a multitude of sins?  It all starts with praying.  Praying right now.  Let's pray right now by asking the person next to us, “What can I pray for you about?”  After listening, hold hands and pray for that person.  After that let the other person ask, “What can I pray for you about.”  After the person shares a need, put your hands on his or her shoulder or hold hands and say a prayer for them.  Pray right now. Conclusion Can you imagine how your life would fill up with joy and power if you started making the most of every opportunity?  What if on a daily basis you began to: 1.     Encourage right now 2.    Connect right now 3.    Pray right now I believe you would begin to draw closer to God and people and you would be begin to see miracles happen.  That's the power of “Right Now.”     Ice Cream Social

His meat? Turkey breast. And his side dish? Mashed potatoes. As a child I hated mashed potatoes, despite his evangelization of them. I too was a picky eater growing up, but I would occasionally attempt to see what he saw in his beloved spuds. Whenever I tried a bite, the texture disgusted me: a gritty gruel of salty flakes coated with the oleic pall of margarine. The flavor reminded me of stale Pringles. I checked back once every couple years, but was repulsed by them every time. I lobbied my parents for pasta or frozen tater tots or any other side I actually liked. Family dinners were often dichotomous, the same protein supplemented by two different carbs. “You are not my son,” my father would joke as he continued to put away his potato slop. “Maybe you're not my father,” I'd shoot back when he shunned the rest of the family's rice pilaf. Our starch preferences seemed irreconcilable. As I entered my teen years, my palate expanded. After I'd tried and enjoyed brussels sprouts and sushi and escargot, my hatred of one of the most basic and inoffensive of all foods seemed silly. One day at a nice restaurant, I decided to give mashed potatoes one more try. You have to walk with God and ask for His guidance daily.”One of the most valuable pieces of advice Kirk received early in his career came from a generous mentor: “Always give in unity with your wife.”That advice stuck.“When Julie isn't comfortable, I pause and pray. Her perspective might be the Holy Spirit speaking. If it wouldn't be wise to pass along wealth, we want our plan to reflect that.”Much of their estate will also go to their foundation, which they hope will be spent down soon after their passing. “We don't want it to live on in perpetuity with intentions we never had. There are no traditional Latin Masses in my diocese anymore. Without going into too much detail, the only nearby parish uses inclusive language, lay preaching, and abuses the liturgy regularly. Am I still obligated to attend Mass there on Sundays, or would it be spiritually harmful (even potentially scandalous) to do so? How many prayers are required to free someone from purgatory? Also, does sprinkling holy water on the ground release them according to popular belief? Canon 1250 says Fridays are penitential days, and 1251 says abstinence (not penance) is dispensed on a solemnity. So, tomorrow it's legally permissible to eat meat, but is some penance still required? When we pray the rosary and dedicate a mystery to someone, how are we to focus our intention; solely on the mystery? Are we straying if we focus too much on the person we are praying for? Might Father have recommendations or advice on how to study, particularly the writings of St. Thomas and things regarding the faith and philosophy? What's your view on proper dress at Mass? Chapter 18 reveals that joy is not optional—it is imperative for those running to win. True joy flows from union with Christ, not from favorable circumstances, soulish exuberance, or personal success. Jesus Himself endured the cross “for the joy set before Him,” keeping His eyes on the goal rather than the pathway. From past joy in the assurance of sins forgiven, to present joy in abiding fellowship, to future joy in anticipating God's eternal purposes, joy is the mark of a mature runner in the race. The lesson is clear: joy is not something we chase—it takes hold of us when our lives are under one single control, aligned with God's ultimate intention. When our perspective shifts from what happens to us to what God does through us, joy becomes a constant companion, sustaining us in every season and empowering us to finish well. Here we go! Bryan Kohberger's Chilling Calls to Mom Hours After Idaho Murders On November 13, 2022, just hours after brutally taking the lives of four University of Idaho students, Bryan Kohberger reached for his phone—not to call for help, but to call his mother. What unfolded over the next several hours is one of the most revealing—and disturbing—patterns in the case. Phone records and location data show a meticulous killer who turned his phone off during the murders to avoid detection, only to light it up minutes later for long conversations with his parents. At 6:13 a.m., back in his Pullman apartment, Kohberger tried calling “Mother.” No answer. He called “Father,” then tried her again—this time speaking for 36 minutes. By 8:03 a.m., he was on the road to Moscow again, heading straight past the murder scene, still talking to his mom for 54 minutes. Minutes after passing the King Road house, another call. And later that day, two more calls—one lasting over an hour and a half. Investigators say these calls weren't unusual for him. Kohberger often contacted his parents early in the morning, sometimes as early as 4 a.m. But in the context of that day, they raise haunting questions: Was he seeking comfort? Trying to maintain normalcy? Or creating a cover story? This deep dive into Kohberger's relationship with his parents—and his reliance on them as his primary social contact—reveals a pattern of dependence and control. Luke 2:27-33 MSGAs the parents of the child Jesus brought him in to carry out the rituals of the Law, Simeon took him into his arms and blessed God: God, you can now release your servant; release me in peace as you promised. With my own eyes I've seen your salvation; it's now out in the open for everyone to see: A God-revealing light to the non-Jewish nations, and of glory for your people Israel. Jesus' father and mother were speechless with surprise at these words.Imagine for a moment taking your child to what we would think of today as a baby dedication and having a total stranger walk up and tell you more about your child than you know—all because God had told him. Simeon explained Jesus' entire life mission while holding a baby. Now, that is faith.In our final day of this series, I want you to know, while of course there was and will only be one Jesus, because of His life, each of your children have a distinct and unique plan, purpose, and mission in their lives. Sunday, August 10, 2025 | You Asked For It | Pastor Michelle preaches in our summer 2025 series based on the questions our congregation has asked for, this week answering: "How should we view A.I. development from a Christian perspective?"

The Gospel of John Week 7 Scripture: John 4:31-5:29. Our study this week begins with a look at people beginning to realize that the Jewish Messiah has come, but He has come to be the Savior of all - not just the Jewish people, but ALL people! Jesus has been in Samaria and now returns to Cana where a high official in the government seeks Jesus out to heal his son who is dying.  Jesus heals the man's son and the official and his whole family came to faith in Jesus. 
Pastor talks about the feasts mentioned in the Gospel of John and how each finds its fulfillment in Jesus.  The feast mentioned in John 5:1-3 doesn't specifically mention which feast event is going on at this particular time, but Pastor speculates that it could be the Feast of Trumpets - Rosh Hashanah - the Jewish New Year - a time when the Jewish people are focused on this feast's call to repentance.   As we continue we see Jesus is at the Pool of Bethesda that had 5 colonnades.  Pastor talks about the discovery of this pool in 1890 and shares some photos of his from a visit there in recent years. He also shares additional discoveries and info that are quite interesting regarding deeper insights into the use of this pool and by whom. As Jesus approached the pool, hundreds of people may well have been at the pool.  Jesus says to an invalid of 38 years “Do you want to get well?”  There were many there but Jesus chooses to speak to just one person. Jesus, on this Sabbath Day, tells the man to get up and walk and the man walks away carrying his mat. The religious leaders had added many additional specific regulations to God's Sabbath Day - rest day. They had added 39 additional man made rules and the 39th rule was that carrying a piece of property from 1 location to another location was not allowed and what this man just did in carrying his mat broke their Sabbath regulations.  Jesus had deliberately provoked the religious establishment's petty laws saying in effect “How dare you substitute the goodness of God with your own petty regulations and rules.” And the religious leaders become incensed when they hear it was Jesus that healed him and so now they are after Jesus and they begin to persecute Him and desire to kill Him. Not only had Jesus broken their religious man-made rules by doing the work of healing this man on a Sabbath, but also because Jesus called God His own Father making Himself equal with God.  Jesus claimed deity - Jesus is the Living God come to earth!! Yet they desired to reject this truth!
