Everyone is adapting to the technology they need, in their work and life. We want you to have the best tools that will benefit you and your clients. In this episode, Ali Whitley discusses working with our mature clients. The Seniors Real Estate Specialist Designation (SRES®) is an amazing class that the Center for REALTOR® Development offers. This class discusses things you need to know. We discuss the technicalities of senior living, reverse mortgages, estates, taxes, and more. We also discuss helping our mature clients get established in communities and be connected in the ways that help them best. Thanks for joining us!   [2:22] Ali is an educator and loves all things education. She is happy to be the chair of the Emerging Business and Technology Forum for NAR this year. [4:56] A person of the same age could have a very different lifestyle than another person. It depends on your activity and health and your ability to be active. [8:16] Ali talks with clients about their interests. She finds out their activity level and the things they like to do. [9:07] Art museums, libraries, and different types of opportunities in your community may have senior or 50-plus programs. When you get plugged into something, you find more to do. Do pre-work and find links for your clients to find their way. [10:39] If we have things available for someone and we can start to identify it for them, their interests and their ability to meet people is going to “explode,” so they'll be able to be connected in their communities. [10:59] The Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation covers three generations: Gen X, Boomers, and the Silent Generation. These generations have different characteristics. They are very diverse in technology. [11:59] As real estate professionals, we help clients across any technology abilities, know where they are, and meet them there, encouraging them to use technology in their transactions and their lives. [12:20] Stereotypes are helpful for some conversations but don't ever over-assume things. Ali sees different generations using technology differently. [13:36] Video chats and social media are useful for people to keep that connection and feel that they're in the know with their community and their family. [15:18] Ali sees older people using video doorbells to keep an eye on who's coming up on their porch and when they're getting deliveries and having visitors. They're using health trackers and video medical appointments. [16:52] When Monica's parents find something that satisfies a need that they have determined, like their Ring doorbell, they are thrilled to have the technology. But they still don't want “all of that technology.” [20:15] We need to talk with our clients and learn their communication preferences. [20:40] Our young clients don't want to talk on the phone but our older clients want to talk on the phone and see us in person. This is a relationship-building business. We need to build the relationship in a way that the client is comfortable. [26:19] There are all sorts of opportunities to use technology to make connections but face-to-face or voice-to-voice are important for people to feel connected. [26:39] Ali is the chair of the Emerging Business and Technology Forum that works with the REACH program. The REACH program comes out of Second Century Ventures, the strategic investment arm of the National Association of REALTORS®. [28:08] NAR chooses both REACH commercial and residential companies for technology that may be utilized in homes or businesses. Ali recommends some digital technology clients can use.  [32:40] Ali suggests looking at the REACH program and Second Century Ventures to see all the REACH programs and classes. [34:58] The Seniors Real Estate Specialist is one of many excellent offerings and you can find out more at Learning.REALTOR.   Tweetables:   “A person of the same age could be in a very different lifestyle than another person. Come accrescere la competitivtà con il gemello digitale

Radio Next

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 21, 2023

E i benefici? Buon ascolto!

National Bio Technology Forum discussions on the Cownomics Technology for in-situ treatment for Drains Rejuvenation Ecologically speaking, Any natural structure or depression or cavity on the surface, wherein Earth is in bottom, Water on top of it and open to Air (atmosphere) is called a Waterbody. Ecology doesn't differentiate between river, pond, lake, rivulet, drain, canal, or reservoir, as long as the above definition is met, provided human being don't interfere with bottom lamination or top cover. On this planet, there are only three habitats – •Soil, •Water, and •Air And all three come in contact in the same order in a natural Waterbody. Thus A Waterbody is natural biggest pool of habitat for microorganisms, whose metabolic activities help in regeneration of natural resources on this planet. •Ecology is not just restricted to terrestrial, the cycle gets completed with all the five key elements of life on the planet •Our shortsightedness was limited to terrestrial life only therefore we couldn't visualize the role of Water & Air •All are linked and all are mandatory phases of the cycle all this and more in this episode. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/vaidicsrijan/message

Covid-19 has brought challenging times to the mobility industry. Air travel has suddenly come to halt. Warren Buffett sold all the ‘big 4’ US airlines stock in April. In May, Uber and Lyft let go of their significant employee base. Public transport is running minimally. The steps taken to combat Covid-19 brought a screeching halt to the mobility industry. Our panel at Silicon Valley Technology Forum looked at these facts and discussed short term, medium term and long term consequences on people behavior. One of the key factors that everyone agreed in determining the future course was contactless delivery of mobility solutions, as people care about their health more than ever. Some of the beneficial outcomes of the recent situation have been healthier air and people using bikes for last mile mobility needs. The panel suggested the mobility industry may move towards more contactless based mobility delivery solutions such as the increase in usage of drones in e-commerce delivery, the rise of use of personal cars both EV and non-EV, and the people preferring more personal mobility solutions such as bikes over shared mobility solutions in near future.

An overview of the Shipbuilding Technology Forum 2018  In this episode of Vanguard Radio, Marcello Sukhdeo gives an overview of the Shipbuilding Technology Forum 2018 that was held recently in Ottawa.  On March 1st, over 150 attendees from the military and industry gathered at the Shaw Centre for Vanguard's fifth annual Shipbuilding Technology Forum. This event is a one-day conference with the aim to showcase emerging technologies, presentations on marine and shipbuilding issues and ship repair.  Vanguard has been working with industry, government and military over the years to provide a platform to create an environment for the different parties to share lessons and showcase cutting-edge technologies.  This year's event was built on the theme: Agility through Technology.    Hear an overview about presentations on:   Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security program, (IDEaS),   Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP),   Keynote by Andy Smith, Deputy Commissioner - Strategy and Shipbuilding, Canadian Coast Guard  Naval Infra-Red Search and Track Systems (IRST),   Decarbonization and Marine Propulsion Systems  Well, that was an overview of the event. I found it to be quite interesting, hearing about the different technologies currently available and what we can look forward to in the future. Especially, what can be done with autonomous technology and AI?  To learn more about the Shipbuilding Technology Forum, go to VanguardCanada.com, and click on the SHIPTECH 2018 tab.  Vanguard will be hosting the 2019 version of this event at the same time next year. Please stay tuned for more details.

This episode is powered by Jumpstart:HR, LLC - HR Outsourcing for Small Businesses and Startups http://www.jumpstart-hr.com   Americans are giving to charity more than ever. In light of the most recent natural disasters and the holiday season approaching, there’s a new sense of urgency to charitable giving. But how many of us really know how our donations are being spent – and that they’ll make a difference?   Before making donations, donors should do their research to ensure they’re choosing wisely. Evaluators such as Charity Navigator offer charity ratings and in-depth analysis of U.S.-based charities, with criteria including financial management and accountability. Givers should also understand the cause they’re trying to support, and look for charities that effectively address the causes they’re passionate about.   I'm chatting with Thomas Tighe, CEO of Direct Relief – one of the nation’s highest rated and most reputable NGOs. He can share tips on charitable giving, explain red flags, suggest questions that people should ask when making a gift, and offer recommendations for charities.   Direct Relief Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/DirectRelief/ https://twitter.com/DirectRelief Get Social:  Joey Price //  IG - www.instagram.com/joeyvpriceHR   T - www.twitter.com/joeyvpriceHR FB - www.facebook.com/joeyvprice    Listen:  iTunes - https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/business-life-coffee-entrepreneurship-life-hacks-personal/id1031048631?mt=2 Podbean - www.businesslifeandcoffee.podbean.com SoundCloud - www.soundcloud.com/businesslifeandcoffee    Connect:  Twitter - www.twitter.com/bizlifecoffee  Instagram - www.instagram.com/businesslifeandcoffee Facebook - www.facebook.com/businesslifeandcoffeee   Website - www.businesslifeandcoffee.com    About Thomas: Thomas Tighe has served as President and CEO of Direct Relief, a nonprofit humanitarian medical organization, since October 2000. Direct Relief, established in Santa Barbara in 1948 and funded entirely with private support, provides medical material assistance to locally run health programs around the world and in the U.S. Since Tighe’s arrival, the organization has provided cash grants of more than $40 million and furnished more than $4 billion essential medicines, equipment, and supplies to support health services for low-income people in 88 developing countries and in all 50 U.S. states, where the organization conducts the country’s largest nonprofit charitable medicines program. During this tenure, Direct Relief has been named among the world’s most innovative nonprofits by Fast Company, has been rated by Forbes as being 99 percent efficient or better in fundraising since 2001, won the Peter F. The Health Technology Forum is on an incredible growth trajectory. A few years ago, they were a Silicon Valley health tech meet-up. Now they have a national footprint with 4500 members and 13 chapters in 5 different countries: San Francisco, Dallas/FortWorth, San Diego, New York City, Atlanta, Washington DC, Austin, Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver, London, Bangalore, and Manila. They have held close to 100 events world-wide, and some of them, like the upcoming Innovation Conference, have become “must attend” events in the health tech space.   In this chat on TDWI Radio, we asked the Founder, Pronoy Saha, about his passion in health and technology and his upcoming "Innovation Conference". To give a sneak peak: Saha's passion is to improve access to health care globally using technology. To do so, he organized a hackathon this last weekend focused on behavioral health - a topic that is often ignored in the rush to produce fitness apps and wearables. He and his team have also organized their upcoming annual Health Technology Forum (HTF) "Innovation Conference", themed "Pathways to Sustainable Health." There are more than 75 speakers including keynoter, Dean Ornish MD of the Preventive Medicine Research Institute at UCSF; Stefano Bertozzi, MD, PhD, Dean of the UC Berkeley School of Public Health; Geoffrey Clapp, CEO of Better, and Eric Bing, Director, Global Health at George W. Bush Institute. And as an added bonus all of the competitors in the hackathon (mentioned above) are invited to attend and the top 4 winners will be demo'ing at the meeting. Join us as Pronoy describes the journey.  It should be fun.
