In this episode, we sit down with the dynamic Elizabeth Rodriguez—actress, Broadway star, and proud Nuyorican—for a conversation about her journey through some of television and theatre’s most impactful roles. From her breakout as Aleida Diaz on Orange Is the New Black to her polarizing turn as Paz Valdez on Power, Elizabeth opens up about the love, hate, and everything in between that comes with playing complex characters. We also dive into her latest film Allswell in New York, a raw and heartfelt portrayal of sisterhood and struggle, co-starring fellow Latina powerhouses Daphne Rubin-Vega and Liza Colón-Zayas. Elizabeth shares how growing up on Manhattan’s Upper East Side as the daughter of Puerto Rican parents shaped her perspective—and her passion for telling real, rooted stories. Plus, we talk about the growing wave of Latino narratives on stage, including Broadway’s current productions of Buena Vista Social Club and Real Women Have Curves, and why representation isn't just important—it's urgent. This is an unfiltered, inspiring look at identity, resilience, and the magic that happens when Latinas rise together.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Never Ending Seasons by Elizabeth Rodriguez Ep.2
My podcast is about long running series about different themes and genres. It is a show for all ages an interests.
In och lyssna! Ni hittar podden bland annat Spotify, Podbean, podme, youtube.... överallt!
In this week's episode, we are joined by Tony-nominated actress and Orange Is the New Black star Elizabeth Rodriguez to discuss her role as Saint Monica in the LAByrinth Theater Company's 2005 production of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. The play was written by Stephen Adly Guirgis and directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman and featured Sam Rockwell as Judas, Eric Bogosian as Satan, and Elizabeth as a powerful, Latina incarnation of Santa Monica who nags and nags and nags until she gets the job done. We dive deeper into the life of the real Saint Monica, through the writings of her son Saint Augustine, and learn how her tears brought Augustine around to the true faith and inspired the name of the town of Santa Monica, California. We also celebrate our Saint of the Day, St. Cyriacus, a patron invoked against demonic possession and a particular favorite of actor Robert Downey Jr. We also discuss how Cyriacus became one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers, the original super saint team-up-squad, that would eventually be followed by supergroups like The Avengers and The Justice League.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/saints-preserve-us. The women-led Toronto band OKAN seamlessly blend their Afro-Cuban roots with jazz, folk, and international flavours. Their music evokes a great deal of passion, so it's rather fitting that their namesake stems from the word for heart in the Afro-Cuban religion of Santeria. I talked to band leaders and real-life couple Elizabeth Rodriguez and Magdelys Savigne about their upcoming sophomore album Espiral, the political turmoil in Cuba, and the trick to keeping their romantic and professional relationships separate.

Jeff and Krissy Link up to talk all things Paz... even though they aren't hyped about it. No shade to Elizabeth Rodriguez, who killed the role, but they did her no favors by keeping her in the background for most of the season...so the resulting backlash from fans makes sense. They discuss how the story moves forward, transition episodes during a finale season, Angela's gun as the murder weapon, Power Book II to air 8 episodes (??), and what we expect for the last few episodes. #PowerTV

In which our three intrepid reviewers finally are all on the show at the same actual time, in time for the season finale of AMC's FEAR THE WALKING DEAD, and ISSUES ARE HAD.Soooo many issues.Production Note: We had some technical issues this week that delayed the release of this episode - only by a day, but still - so we would like to apologize for the delay, which also led to our pretty-sweary crew not getting "beeped" out this week, especially considering how much this episode inspired cursing.
In which Mr. Adair returns from his hiatus, the limits of internet phone service are explored, and FEAR THE WALKING DEAD improves somewhat from the mess that was last week's episode.
In which Mr. Harvey and his Spawn watch FEAR THE WALKING DEAD go terribly awry this week, ponder characters whose characters have abandoned their characters, and have a rather hard time defending much of what happens for the first time this season.
In which Mr. Harvey's Spawn co-hosts again, the power and benefits of hope are discussed, and the Care Bears make an unexpected addition, because apparently dating oneself by pop-culture references is a genetic thing.Production Note: Mr. Adair is settling into his new digs down Texas-way, and will hopefully return next week!
In which Mr. Harvey's Spawn steps into the co-host role for both a first-time podcast and FEAR THE WALKING DEAD experience, and much swearing ensues, but only of the punctuation and emphasis variety, as aside from a few bumps along the way, "Weak" is a solid and well-done episode that both entertains and raises most interesting questions. Production note: Seriously, there's a lot of swearing this episode, and the standard "bleeping" was more distracting in the edit than just letting the actual words be heard, so.... Warnings for Language and stuff, although given Mr. Adair's history with such things, you shouldn't be terribly shocked at this by this point.
In which we are amused by the intentional comedy of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD's "The Code, amused by the unintentional comedy of distance, time and magical radios, and reach the end of a chapter in the story of our podcasting duo. Plus: The Zombie Dog provides squeeky-toy accompaniment! Production note: Due to Mr. Adair's moving to more southern climes next weekend, Mr. Harvey will be joined for next week's episode of ZOMBPOCALYPSE NOW by a guest host to be named shortly.
In which character emotions are expressed at length, Zombie Dogs make excessive amounts of noise, and Mr. Harvey has a hard time suspending his disbelief and goes on about it just a bit longer than is, strictly speaking, necessary.
In which we return after a week off and ponder the mix of excellent acting and questionable effects that is the return of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD, which now has flying zombies, because sure, why not?
In Select Theaters, Friday August 10, 2018Skate KitchenCamille's life as a lonely suburban teenager changes dramatically when she befriends a group of girl skateboarders. As she journeys deeper into this raw New York City subculture, she begins to understand the true meaning of friendship.Starring: Rachelle Vinberg, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Jaden Smith, Nina Moran, Taylor Gray, Thaddeus Daniels, Kabrina Adams, Jules Lorenzo, Judah Lang, Ajani RussellDirected by: Crystal MoselleProduced by: Michael Sherman, Rodrigo Teixeira, Julia Nottingham, Matthew Perniciaro, Lizzie Nastro, Izabella TzenkovaCinematography: Shabier KirchnerDistributed by: Magnolia PicturesRuntime: 140 minutes See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
In which we find FEAR THE WALKING DEAD's "No One's Gone" displays a love of slow-motion that fails to cover a multitude of sins hiding inside an otherwise excellent mid-season finale, and some deaths are simply too unbelievable to be real, unless they are, in which case we still don't believe them to be real, because c'mon, seriously? A programming note: We will not have a Zombpocalypse Now episode next week, as Mr. Adair will be on vacation, and Mr. Harvey just sounds silly talking to himself like some crazy person. We will return to our regular recording schedule the last week of June.
In which we find that the two timelines of this season of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD are close to merging, some plans are not exactly well-considered, and the Lori Grimes School of Driving has an office in Texas.
With FEAR THE WALKING DEAD off for a few weeks, we return to the questionable joys of Hate-Watching SPIKE's THE MIST!It's poorly conceived, terribly executed, and strangely fun to watch in all its awfulness.
In which We question Naomi's parenting skills, decide that some plans are truly terrible, and mourn the real-live loss of a dear friend...Folks, this is an unusual episode. Just prior to recording, Dustin and I learned that a friend of ours had died, and the first 15 minutes are the two of us talking about our friend and sharing a few stories about him. If you find such things uncomfortable or aren't a fan of our digressions, it's perfectly OK to fast forward to the FEAR THE WALKING DEAD part. If, as we hope, you want to hear us talk about a good man who left the world too soon, well, we tell the stories we tell tonight because not only is shared pain lessened pain, but because celebrating those we lose is one of the best things we can do.
In which we see that FEAR THE WALKING DEAD's "Laura" is very nearly a perfect episode, John Dorie is likely too good for this world, and the Power of Love warms even Dustin & Tim's cold and jaded hearts. A little.
In which everyone blames themselves for Nick's death, Tim fears that the Hard Reboot might be a passing fad, and Dustin swears revenge on Chuck Lorre.
In which we learn that blue bonnets are rather hardy flowers, children can't be trusted, and when FEAR THE WALKING DEAD reboots the show, it reboots HARD.
In which Team Zombie watches the second episode of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD's fourth season, and finds that the promise of the first episode - and the "soft" reboot of the show - continues, in a mostly satisfactory way. Seriously, we actually liked it.
In which the soft reboot of AMC's FEAR THE WALKING DEAD seems rather more the extremely hard reboot, Morgan takes the lead, and the show is greatly improved by having almost no connection to the events of the last three seasons.
