We had the pleasure of interviewing Kobra Paige over Zoom video!Kobra Paige releases the title track “Like No Other” off her debut solo album Like No Other to be released on August 30th. The title track, co-written with Lizzy Hale (Halestorm) and Joe Hottinger (Halestorm) alongside producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Halestorm, Alice In Chains) showcases the depth and soul behind the creation of the entire album.“Like No Other” was later completed by Kobra at producer Brian Howe's (Skillet, Daughtry, Linkin Park) Black Stove Studios in 2021 where the addition of Sitar was introduced. This paid tribute to a part of Kobra's upbringing which involved many years of seva (service), with her family, at an ashram in southern India.Kobra says, “This song is the heartbeat of the album and the distillation of what, I believe to be, life's journey. If I were to share my essence and experience of what I know about being human, in one song, this would be it. LNO speaks to the recognition of our mind, body, and spirit as the one ‘home' we truly have in this lifetime. We are its sacred keeper and there's no limit to the number of times we can rebuild or change its path.”Kobra shares, “As we move through this song, you will hear a sonic blend of worldly drums and Indian Sitar blended with the cozy Dobro and various acoustic and electric guitar layers. This is to express the beautiful paradox of our individuality in this world while simultaneously being plugged into the tapestry of a collective. The vocals are confident yet bare to the rawness of how lonely life can still feel, despite being surrounded by so many others. To veido muzikālais vadītājs un diriģents Andris Veismanis un argentīniešu režisors Marselo Lombardero. Radošajā komandā strādā argentīniešu mākslinieki, kā arī latviešu horeogrāfe Linda Mīļā un videomākslinieks Uģis Ezerietis. Argentīniešu un latviešu radošās komandas sadarbībā top Volfganga Amadeja Mocarta un libretista Lorenco da Pontes opera „Dons Žuans”, kas būs piektais šīs operas iestudējums uz mūsu Baltā nama skatuves. Pirmo reizi opera izrādīta Prāgā 1787.gadā, savukārt Latvijas Nacionālajā operā „Dona Žuana” pirmais iestudējums noticis 1921.gadā. Saskaņā ar libretu Dona Žuana darbība notiek Spānijā, spāniskais akcents būs arī šajā iestudējumā – notikumi risināsies Buenosairesā, Argentīnas galvaspilsētā. Latīņamerikā lielākā daļa valstu ir ļoti spāniskas, un vietas maiņa netraucē, tā piešķir īpašu smaržu un noskaņu, apliecina iestudējuma muzikālais vadītājs un diriģents Andris Veismanis. Ar „Donu Žuanu” viņš strādājis vairakkārt, arī Andreja Žagara 2009.gada veidotajā iestudējumā. Viņaprāt, tā ir nevīstoša klasika un viena no labākajām 18.gs. operām. Argentīniešu režisors Marselo Lombardero savu profesionālo karjeru sācis kā baritons Amerikas un Eiropas opernamos. Vēlāk pievērsies operas un teātra režijai. 2014.gadā Latvijas Nacionālajā operā iestudējis  Mocarta operu „Figaro kāzas”. Atkal sastapšanās ar mūsu opernama trupu režisoru iepriecina no sirds. Marselo Lombardero kā solists Leporello lomu savulaik nodziedājis 40 reižu, tādēļ tik labi pārzina katru operas niansi.  Šajā iestudējumā Leporello lomā Rihards Mačanovskis vai Krišjānis Norvelis. Savukārt galvenajā  Dona Žuana lomā baritons Nevens Crničs no Grācas operas vai Rinalds Kandalincevs. Kā, tiekoties ar žurnālistiem, uzsvēra Nevens Crničs, viņaprāt,  Dona Žuana loma ir interesanta un atraktīva, jo ikviens vīrietis piekritīs, ka katrs ir nedaudz donžuāns, kas cenšas pavedināt sievieti un iekarot viņas uzmanību. Režisora sniegtā interpretācija dziedātājam nav izaicinājums, jo dotie uzdevumi un koncepts skaidrs, tāpēc ir liels prieks un gandarījums veidot šo lomu. Jūlija Vasiļjeva ar Donnas Annas lomu iepriekšējā iestudējumā debitēja uz LNO skatuves. Savukārt Inga Šļubovska-Kancēviča iepriekšējā iestudējumā bija Cerlīna, tagad Donna Elvīra. Katrīnai Paulai Felsbergai šī būs pirmā loma LNO iestudējumā, pašlaik viņa vēl studē Berlīnes Mākslu universitātē profesores Džūlijas Kaufmanes klasē. Kāda ir Katrīnas  Paulas Felsbergas Cerlīna, atklāj jaunā dziedātāja. Arī LNOB vadītāja, basbaritona Egila Siliņa repertuārā ir Dona Žuana loma, vairakkārt lomu dziedājis dažādos iestudējumos, taču šoreiz par sezonas jauniestudējumiem. Latviešu izcilākais basbaritons, Latvijas Nacionālās operas un baleta (LNOB) vadītājs Egils Siliņš savu 60. dzimšanas dienu atzīmēs ar trim koncertiem. 10. un 11. decembrī tie būs koncerti Vidzemes koncertzālē "Cēsis" un Latgales vēstniecībā "Gors" Rēzeknē. 18. decembrī jubilejas izrāde "Traviata"paredzēts uz Latvijas Nacionālās operas skatuves. Cēsīs un Rēzeknē Siliņš muzicēs kopā ar Latvijas Nacionālo simfonisko orķestri Andra Pogas vadībā. Uz skatuves kāps arī soprāns Liene Kinča, tenors Mihails Čuļpajevs, bass Edgars Ošleja un Valsts akadēmiskais koris “Latvija”. Koncertam izvēlētā Sergeja Rahmaņinova opera “Aļeko”, kā arī Franča Šūberta un Gustava Mālera dziesmas.  Sarunā Kultūras rondo Egils Siliņš atklāj, ka Māleru dziedās pirmo reizi. Savukārt operu koncertam izvēlējies "Aļeko" LNSO, bet Egils Siliņš vēlas šo darbu nākamajā sezonā LNO repertuārā.

Certains métiers semblent cachés au grand jour : on sait qu'ils existent et on se doute bien de leur caractère essentiel …sans pour autant jamais braquer les projecteurs sur ces chevilles ouvrières d'une industrie aux rouages complexes et interdépendants.  Admin, prod, régie, compta : qui trouve-t-on derrière les feux de la rampe et les fichiers Excel? Quelle est la réalité de leur quotidien et comment anticipent-elles l'avenir? Surtout, comment allient-elles raison et passion, chiffres et valeurs personnelles?  Voilà autant de questions entre autres auxquelles nous allons donner un nouvel éclairage et répondre avec des invitées aussi solides que sémillantes, j'ai nommé Anaëlle Desbois, fondatrice et directrice d'Alpine Records, Justine Blanc, présidente et gérante de Cold Fame, Maud Montillon, administratrice de production et régisseuse de production et Virginie Bègue, régisseuse. 

On le sait, c'est l'enjeu primordial de notre époque: se distinguer de la masse, et ce, dans la durée, n'est pas une mince affaire à l'heure où il n'a jamais été plus facile de prendre la parole ou de sortir sa musique. C'est une matière première omniprésente qui se niche au cœur de nos métiers et de nos oreilles, et pourtant… il est bien rare que l'on parle de son en tant que sujet. Quels paysages ? Quelle écoute ? Quels publics ? Quelles en sont les nouvelles frontières et pourquoi c'est important : ce nouvel épisode nous plonge au cœur du son pour y explorer les divers rapports qu'y ont développé des professionnel.le.s évoluant chacune et chacun à des étapes différentes de la vie d'une musique, de sa création à sa diffusion.  C'est avec des invités d'horizons multiples mais totalement convergents que nous allons aborder ensemble tout cela et bien plus: Matthieu Charrier,  responsable de l'accompagnement artistique à la Cordo et Formateur Agi Son, Mélanie Arrès de Sonorium, Orlando Apesteguy de 3D Sound Records et Sophie Griffon, artiste du projet musical Odalie notamment.

Symbole immuable de l'industrie du disque et point de départ de bon nombre de carrières mythiques, lorsqu'ils ne le sont pas eux-mêmes, les studios sont pourtant rarement le sujet de discussions de la profession. Il s'y passe pourtant beaucoup de choses et leur mue, dans un contexte marqué aussi bien par la démocratisation des moyens d'enregistrement que la crise sanitaire, est fascinante à bien des égards et révélatrice des transformations profondes et toujours en cours de l'industrie musicale. Nous inaugurons cette 2ème saison du podcast LNO un sujet aussi vaste que très (trop?) peu abordé : le management d'artistes. Il y a tant de façons de les nommer : agent, imprésario, gestionnaire de carrière, développeur de artistes, couteau Suisse aussi. Métier de l'ombre par excellence, les manageurs et manageuses n'en sont pas moins les chevilles ouvrières de la carrière des artistes, les accompagnant souvent dès leurs débuts. Mais c'est quoi être manager d'artiste aujourd'hui ? Comment trouve-t-on ses premiers artistes ? Qu'est-ce qu'un bon manager et est-ce un métier dont on vit bien? Loin de les clichés et au plus près du terrain, vous allez tout savoir et tout comprendre grâce aux 5 premiers talents de La Nouvelle Onde 2019 qui ouvrent le bal pour cette saison : Colin Rigaud, Gwenvaël Briant, Leila Belaubre, Mahaut Dufour-Lamanthe et Maxime Thévenon.

Pour celles et ceux qui nous rejoignent en cours de route, La Nouvelle Onde est un dispositif d'accompagnement lancé en partenariat avec l'IRMA désormais intégré au CNM et le MaMA, afin de mettre en lumière, en valeur et en réseau les pros de moins de 30 ans de l'écosystème de la musique. Je m'appelle Emily Gonneau et je suis à l'origine de cette initiative. Ce podcast donne la parole aux talents de La Nouvelle Onde et nous abordons ensemble, au cours de chaque épisode, un aspect différent de la filière à travers leurs regards neufs et déjà expérimentés. Le Covid-19 nous aura peut-être retardés mais n'aura pas eu raison de ces passionnantes conversations sur la réalité de leurs métiers et leurs conseils de pros, j'ai donc vraiment hâte que vous découvriez les talents de la promo 2019. C'est donc ici que commence un récit collectif d'un voyage déjà écrit au quotidien par tous les membres de la famille LNO. Dans cette émission hors-série on va parler d'avenir et d'humain, et ça fait du bien. Parce que c'est ce qui nous lie et que le réseau LNO est une chaîne infinie de coups de pouce et poignées de main, de générosité et de soutien entre jeunes pros de la musique de moins de 30 ans. Le numérique pour les uns, le digital pour les autres, quand ce n'est pas dans « la data » qu'on travaille. Une chose est sûre et cela fait déjà 20 ans qu'on en parle : l'avènement d'internet a profondément bouleversé l'industrie musicale et l'a obligée à opérer une gigantesque mue, le plus souvent bien malgré elle, engendrant au passage bon nombre de fantasmes. Mais de quoi parle-t-on, au juste ? Avons basculé dans une ère où tout peut et doit être quantifié ? Que représente vraiment le numérique au quotidien dans les métiers de la filière musique ? Quel impact et comment ça se passe au quotidien et à long terme pour les artistes mais également leurs partenaires ? Aujourd'hui, nous partons donc explorer ce vaste territoire afin de mieux le cartographier.
