First was about long term Imodium use. I am one of the six who truly appreciate what you do and listen all the time. I'm also an LMNT believer. This one is for my mother in law. She has controlled diabetes with diet and exercise for years. I would say they are Paleo on the lower end of protein. Now her A1C and fasting glucose are going up. Lots of walking and biking (weather permitting on the biking). Walking upwards of 7-10 miles a day. Could this be causing her body to produce more glucose for energy if protein is low or is her time up and leading towards insulin after all these years. Would weights be a benefit? Failed to mention she is in her low 70's and pretty small framed.   Junk food calories - can the junk be burned?  Caleb writes: Howdy Robére and Nikki, I'm an OG supporter that came across you all while I was working for one of the first Whole30 approved products, Tessemae's All Natural. I've been to a handful of PaleoFX events and my last one was a few years back where we connected at the LMNT booth and I just want to extend my appreciation for you two staying true to real food and nuanced information without turning into sh*thead snake oil salesman selling Beauty Counter or other garbage products like the majority of the old "real food influencers". I recently started ultra training and found that if I use whole foods for all my fuel I end up with a giant rock in my stomach and occasionally have to sprint off trail to test my below 90 degree wall sits on a tree to relieve myself. I've since gone towards gu's and swedish fish for my training and race fuel and the rest of my calories come from lean red meat, fruits, japanese sweet potatoes, avo oil, ghee, and trace amount of calories from a little slice of heaven called LMNT (plug). My digestion is great, my stool is strong, my skin is clear(ish. I always have trouble with acne), and my energy is solid. I just want to make sure I'm not causing any long term issues by crushing swedish fish, gu's, and chilled peanut m&ms during training and wondering if the fact that I'm currently a furnace for calories, if that furnace burns the "bad" stuff in processed foods along with the calories themselves. Stay salty, C   Weight Loss and Maintenance Jenn writes:  Hi Robb & Nikki, I want to start by first saying thank you for the entertaining and informative podcast as well as the delicious electrolytes! My question today is related to weight loss and how to potentially move that needle. Sorry for the long winded story and question! I'm a 34 year old female 5'7" and 175 pounds. I have a desk job, but I am active every day. I box/kickbox twice a week, crossfit once a week, swim laps once a week, practice yoga/mobilty several times a week, strength train at least once a week (aim for 2-3x) and I walk between 7 & 10,000 steps every day. I have in the past lost weight doing chronic cardio and extreme calorie restriction, and I have reached 155 pounds, which is where I feel the best (confidence and energy wise), but of course, once I stop the extreme dieting and exercise, the weight comes back on. At my heaviest I was 215 pounds but I am able to maintain 175 very easily now, but getting that last 15-20 pounds off and keeping them off is a major struggle. Peter Attia has said that your waist should be half of your height or less, so at 5'7", my waist should 33.5" and I'm at 37" and it will not budge. I eat a very clean diet, following Paul Saladino' animal based framework - beef, eggs, chicken, apples, blueberries, hard cheeses (parmesan and old cheddar), potato, carrots, squash, sauerkraut, mangos, bananas etc. and I follow Dr. Mindy Pelz's intermittent fasting framework. Chronometer shows that I'm eating between 140-160g of protein, 50-150g of carbs and the remaining calories are fat, and on average I'm eating between 1800-2000 calories a day and feel satiated. Taking my activities into account, I have between a 250 and 500 daily calorie deficit which means that I should be losing weight at a slow, steady pace, but I'm not. I'm wondering if my hormones are possibly causing a problem? I have regular bloodwork done and my thyroid levels are in normal range and my fasting glucose is 4.6 mmol/L and all other markers are normal. A problem is that I live in the socialist country of Canada and my doctor won't test my hormones because of my age and the fact that I don't have any health issues and I'm not obese (preventative healthcare does not exist). I've tried to look at CGM's and private hormone testing, and each of those will put be out of pocket between $500 and $1000, which is more than I can afford at the moment. I try not to overdo the fasting and exercise so as not to increase cortisol levels too much, I do have a stressful job and I purposefully take a break in the middle of the day to go for a walk or exercise to help keep those stress levels under control. I try to get outside for at least 30 minutes a day (not always possible due to the weather) and I get between 7.5 and 8 hours of sleep a night - usually good quality sleep but I do have the occasional restless night. The supplements I take besides LMNT are magnesium, Vitamin D and CBD. My only vices are coffee and tea, which I drink black or with a small amount of honey or coconut milk. I feel like I'm doing everything right, I feel healthy and have a great partner and life but I just can't seem to get the weight under control. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions that may help me to move the needle and keep the weight off for good? Or am I worrying over something that is not a big deal? I want to be as healthy and strong as I can be going into my mid-life years. Appreciate any thoughts you may have. And so much of what we've done is just like action creates action. You need to put one foot in front of the other and you've got to live to fight another day. And so often, people don't realize the accountability required to take action. No one else is really ready to give you the level of advice required or the rules that you need to break to get it done, because they don't want that in their life. And so, you have these people with great ideas and the idea doesn't matter.” (08:36) (Greg)“We're not rewarded for failure either. We're rewarded in school for perfection. And that's not what the journey is about at all. It's about how often you can pick yourself up off the ground and get up and do it the next day with a smile on your face. And if you can do that, you can do anything.” (10:25) (Greg)“There's interesting ways to do things that are still healthy. Our creamy dressings are a great example. We emulsify them with egg instead of dairy or whatever weird powders or thickening agents are out there. And that came because we wanted to stay a ‘clean eating' brand and we wanted to avoid as many allergens as we could possibly avoid.” (20:08) (Greg)“And so when we were thinking about the brand, it needed to be timeless. It needed to be scalable, right? It couldn't be region specific. And it needed to be authentic. People needed to be able to get into it and go, ‘Oh, wow. I can't believe this story is real.'” (22:18) (Greg)“If it doesn't taste good, I mean I don't even know why we're doing it. That is the only purpose of something being in a bottle and being bought, in my opinion.” (26:58) (Greg)“And so, when you get into more traditional marketing methods, you get farther and farther and farther away from just the initial gut reaction of a person walking into a store or experiencing a...

In our previous episode, we talked about having a great idea for a food product and how to consult the Food Innovation Center about creating it, but Greg Vetter of Tessemae's simply brought in a tub of lettuce with his secret dressing on it and walked out of a Whole Foods buyer meeting with an order. After selling 600+ bottles in five days simply doing in-store demos, Tessemae’s dressing became an instant phenomenon at Whole Foods and soon expanded exponentially through the state, the region, and eventually the whole country. From its fascinating beginning in an Annapolis MD Whole Foods store, where Greg Vetter and his family made dressing at night and drove it to Whole Foods stores on Fridays, doing demos every weekend, to getting the call from Walmart asking if they could develop a shelf-stable version for them, Tessemae’s trajectory was almost inconceivable. The origin of this great dressing came from Greg’s mom Tesse - who had to figure out a way to get her kids to eat their veggies while staying healthy. Because serving a dressing full of artificial ingredients was not an option, she created and perfected her own all-natural recipe. When her oldest son, Greg, realized how great it was, he said, “Mom, let’s go into business together and make this for the world!” As Tessemae's All Natural grows its product line around the globe, the commitment to healthy eating and healthy living remains the core of the company's mission. Join us as Greg tells me about his initial “ignorance” of the food production industry, their growth and learnings from 2009 through today, and how they plan to keep innovating flavors and products under the Tessemae's brand. The “NexxtLevel Brands Podcast’ is hosted by G. Steven Cleere, Founder and “Chief Pot Stirrer” of NexxtLevel Brands. This show focuses on disruptors and thought-leaders from the Entrepreneurial Food, Beverage, and CPG Industry, but we also share tips from veterans and key suppliers that may help fellow CPG professionals achieve their goals. Discussion Points What drove you to create a product in the refrigerated/produce section? Gregory, the oldest of the Vetter brothers, had the idea to launch Tessemae's based on the belief in his mother's wildly popular homemade dressing recipe and how it had the potential to create an entirely new clean food category. After winning over a local Whole Foods buyer and selling just under 700 bottles in one week, Gregory, his two brothers, Matt and Brian, and his family grew the business to become the #1 organic salad dressing brand in the refrigerated space. Gregory and his family paved the way for clean manufacturing on a mass scale by inventing the only gum-free dressing bottling process. That manufacturing process led to the invention of the “fresh condiment” category, the first Whole30 approved bottled dressings and condiments, and then continued pioneering of innovation across the grocery store with the creation of the first shelf-stable creamy dressings free of gums and additives with the “Tessemae's Pantry” line.Gregory, who values the importance of family and the concept of a wholesome family dinner, spoke at a TED Talk entitled “The Dinner Habit – The Recipe For Change” and is a finalist for the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2019 Mid-Atlantic Award.Tessemae's is an organic fresh food company that makes products with uncompromised ingredients of the highest quality. Tessemae's commitment to healthy eating and living is the core of its mission. Kathleen opens the show drinking a Pistachio Cream Ale from Indeed Brewing Company in Minneapolis. “GOOD BAD FOOD”: In her quest for new and delicious not-so-nutritious junk food AND in continuing her search for the best Ranch, Kathleen samples Wendy's Frosty Cereal which she thinks tastes just like (but isn't as good as) Cocoa Puffs. She moves on to try Louisiana's Blue Plate “Real” Mayonnaise, and then finishes her tasting menu with Tessemae's Buffalo Ranch Dressing, which she reacts to by yelling out “too much going on there!” QUEEN'S COURT: Kathleen is excited to report that Queen Stevie has recommended watching the animated movie “Storks” to relieve all depression and anxiety, which makes Kathleen laugh out loud and she's added it to her watch list. UPDATES: Kathleen gives updates on Britney Spears' new book, missing Malaysian Flight 370, further excavations continue to provide historical insight in Pompeii, and American Airlines' pilots report another close encounter with a UFO to the FBI.“HOLY SHIT THEY FOUND IT”: Kathleen is amazed to read about the discovery of a Roman-era mosaic floor in South London, thought to be at least 1,800 years old, and an exceedingly rare fossil of a giant flying reptile was recently found on a Scottish island.KMART'S FINAL BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL: Kathleen reads an article announcing that decades after Kmart was a household staple for home shopping, the chain has shrunk to only four stores still operating in the US. The announcement comes after years of the discount retail chain failing to keep up with the popularity of Walmart and Target, with experts saying the chain failed to modernize with new technology and consumer demands. Kathleen laughs when she reminisces how excited she would get when their iconic “Blue Light Special” would come on in the store.CHESS'S NEW GRAND MASTER RISES: Kathleen loves a martini and chess night and is excited to read that a new Grand Master has been named in the Chess world. 16-year-old Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, or “Pragg” as he is commonly known, is now the youngest chess player ever to defeat Magnus Carlsen in his long reign as world champion in a game that included 39 moves.A 500LB MISTAKEN IDENTITY: Kathleen reads an article out of Lake Tahoe, laughing that a 500-lb bear who locals refer to as “Hank The Tank” and has been blamed for breaking and entering more than two dozen homes in California's Lake Tahoe area, is no longer the sole suspect. DNA evidence gathered by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife suggests several bears may have been responsible for the break-ins.DISNEY RECREATES MAGICAL “VILLAGES”: Kathleen reads an announcement that Disney has announced plans to start building a mixed-use residential community in California's Coachella Valley, which will be called Cotino. The complex will include 1,900 housing units that will be designed in a small-town resort-like feel much like Disney's theme parks. Kathleen shares a story of attending “Cinderella's Breakfast” with her younger siblings at Disneyworld when she was a teenager.LEGEND OF THE SELKIES: Kathleen reads a recent story of a California fisherman who was rescued by a seal when he fell off his boat into the Pacific Ocean. The man was assisted by a seal for over 5 hours as he swam to an oil tanker platform, and attributes the seal's support for saving his life. Kathleen links the story with the old legend of The Selkies, or Seal People, who are said to be cursed with a constant longing for what they do not have and can transform from one creature to another by shedding their sealskin and putting it on again. WHAT TO WATCH THIS WEEK: Kathleen recommends watching “Vikings: Valhalla” on Netflix.KATHLEEN'S OFFICIAL SOCIAL MEDIA: Follow Kathleen on her official Facebook page, Instagram page, Twitter account, and YouTube channel.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Also massive thanks to Creative Termite Elisa (her company's name is Texrah Designs in Dallas) who sent Paddles a very cool Post Malone prayer candle, since Post is one of Paddles' favorite singers.UPDATE ON KATHLEEN'S QUEEN'S COURT: Kathleen announces to the Termites that she has no worthwhile updates from the Queens over the past week, but will continue her hunt for breaking news.“GOOD BAD FOOD”: In her quest for new and delicious not-so-nutritious junk food AND in continuing her search for the best Ranch, Kathleen samples Tessemae's Everything Bagel Ranch, which she thinks is too tangy and tastes more dill than “everything.” Next on the menu are Roulette Nacho Cheese Doritos, which she loves and can't WAIT to offer her young nieces and nephew to watch their shock at the heat. She finishes her tasting menu telling Termites to add Texas Pete Dust Dry Seasoning on any meat they put on the grill, and that Marshmallow Fluff is delicious AND has a stickiness comparable to Gorilla Glue. TENNESSEE GETS A BUC-EE'S TRUCK STOP: As listeners know, Kathleen is a massive fan of good truck stops. She's absolutely excited to read an article that her friend Heidi forwarded announcing that crews have broken ground on the Crossville TN Buc-ee's travel center – the first one in Tennessee; which will be more than 53,400 square feet and offer 120 fueling positions just outside its store with thousands of snack, meal and drink options for travelers on the go.GUN-WAVING STL COUPLE UPDATE: Kathleen reads an update from her hometown of St. Louis, where Mark and Patricia McCloskey were fined and charged with a misdemeanor for pointing guns at social justice demonstrators last year.BATTLE OF THE SPACE BILLIONAIRES: Kathleen provides an update on the space race currently underway between billionaires Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and now Richard Branson. Just after Bezos announced that he would join his Blue Origin's first crewed flight on July 20th, Branson announced plans to launch over the July 4th holiday weekend, making him the FIRST to reach space on his private Virgin Galactic craft. Stay tuned, Termites.PINK FLOYD VS FACEBOOK: Listeners who follow Kathleen know that she can't stand Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, feeling that he is a morally bankrupt human. She's delighted to hear that Pink Floyd star Roger Waters shares her opinion, when he recently rejected an offer from Zuckerberg for the use of his classic track Another Brick in the Wall Part II. Speaking at a recent event, Waters opened up about the financial offer from Zuckerberg, who he called “one of the most powerful idiots in the world”, revealing the Facebook boss wanted to use his 1979 song in a film to promote Instagram.ELIZABETH HOLMES MERCH SOARS: As Termites know, Kathleen is committed to seeing the end of the Theranos scandal with its founder, Elizabeth Holmes, in prison for her fraudulent activities. Holmes is facing federal wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud charges in connection with allegedly deceiving investors, patients, and doctors about her company's blood-testing technology, and is facing 20 years in prison if convicted. Kathleen reports that Internet sellers are cashing in on swag despite the fraudulent undertones of the trial, cashing in before her criminal fraud trial starts in August 2021. Kathleen is absolutely committed to obtaining a “Theranos: Early Investor” coffee mug from Etsy before the trial begins, because it's important to have goals ☺MEGHAN MARKLE'S BOOK FLOPS: Kathleen delightedly reads an article announcing that Meghan Markle's children's book release, “The Bench,” profoundly flopped in sales in its release week. Online reviewers dismissed the publication as a vanity project which should have been kept within the Royal family, while her sister-in-law Kate Middleton's photography book “Hold Still” remains at the top of the bestseller list. Kathleen mentions that karma might play a part in this situation…WHAT RICH PEOPLE ARE SPENDING MONEY ON: Kathleen laughs that she's starting a new segment to the Pubcast called “What Rich People Are Spending Money On,” after weeks of reading about sales of stolen art and trips to space for auction. This week she reads a press release that shoe magnate Stuart Weitzman has sold a secret coin, his 1933 Double Eagle “Mona Lisa” of collector coins, for $18.9M. Kathleen expands on the story with her own childhood tales regarding having pride in her ownership of Silver Dollars that her grandparents had gifted to her, citing that the only people that would care about her rare coins and stamps would be her super-nerd and incredibly gifted cool friends Lorene Machado and Jackie Kashian, whom she is looking into ordering “Super Nerd” capes for on Etsy. A DEATH IN CRYPTOLAND: In continuing her obsession with cryptocurrency and her love for all things Canadian, Kathleen recommends listening to the CBC Canada podcast “A Death In Cryptoland” about the alleged death of Quadriga CEO Gerald Cotten. Cotten started Canada's largest cryptocurrency exchange in his twenties and is reported to have died while honeymooning in India at the age of 30. The alleged death set off a cataclysmic chain of events that would leave approx 76,000 people out of a quarter of a billion dollars and a trail of conspiracy theories around whether he is dead or alive. KENTUCKY TEE-BALL GAME BRAWL: Kathleen takes another sip of beer and laughs out loud reading an article surrounding a tee-ball championship game in Kentucky that erupted into a brawl when parents began fighting after a spectator ran onto the field, leaving the young players in tears amid the chaos.Witnesses told local media that a spectator ran onto the field, prompting the umpire to end the game and the scheduled trophy and medal presentation ceremony to be canceled. The incident began when the opposing coaches got into an argument over a call when the fan ran on the field. Other spectators said the man took off his shirt and began cursing and shoving people.RENTAL CAR PRICES SOAR: An avid traveler and a big supporter of the rental car industry (especially her hometown based Enterprise Rental Car), Kathleen is amazed when reading an article advising US travelers that US rental car prices could double by August amidst a nationwide shortage of cars. The skyrocketing prices come as demand for rental cars outstrips supply, when in a desperate move to survive pandemic lockdowns that halted global travel last year, many rental companies sold off their fleets for cash. Now Americans are ready to travel again, car rental services have been hard-pressed to rebuild their fleets with limited new vehicle inventory. Kathleen advises traveling Termites to secure their rental cars now to avoid disappointment. WHAT TO WATCH THIS WEEK: Kathleen recommends watching Season 1 of “Dirty John” on Netflix, which she thinks Connie Britton absolutely crushes in, and listen to the podcast “A Death in Cryptoland” 6-part podcast wherever you get podcasts. A number of unique factors this year combined with long-term trends to create the devastating and unprecedented fires of 2020. But a major reason for the massive scale of the destruction is that natural fires and burning practices first developed by Indigenous people have been suppressed for generations. Wildfires are essential to many Western ecosystems, restoring nutrients to the soil, clearing decaying brush, and helping plants germinate. Without these fires, vegetation in woodlands, grasslands, and chaparral shrublands accumulates, so more fuel is available to burn, especially when a megadrought keeps drying out the fuel, year after year. A debt to the landscape starts to mount, and when it comes due, there is hell to pay. “If we’re not using fire in the same way that this landscape evolved with over millennia, then we could be creating a situation where we’re creating a further imbalance,” said Don Hankins, an environmental geographer at California State University Chico and a Plains Miwok Indigenous fire practitioner. 1. Strongman Nutrition Help [32:22] Joshua says: Good afternoon.  I'm a 30 year old father of 7. I'm 166 centimetres tall and 90kg at 30% body fat based of the navy body fat test. I recently have been inspired to get as strong as healthily possible so I can be my children's own superhero after watching Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson pull the 501 kg world record deadlift. I know you also have been really successful with powerlifting in the past. So my question for you would be. How would one eat to get as strong as possible. Thank you kindly Joshua   2. How To Avoid Exacerbating Dawn Phenomenon [35:46] Donna says: Hi, Robb & Team, I've been about 90% Paleo (sourdough bread occasionally, some dairy) since mid-March, and overall I've felt a lot better.  My meal routine worked fine right through summer. In fall, I ran into a problem.  My blood sugar is generally highest first thing in the morning, before I've eaten anything, and this seems to be due to 1) burning through my dinner calories by around 5:00 a.m., now that it's colder and I've resumed weight training at my gym; and 2) the dawn phenomenon, assuming this is a real "thing," where glucose gets poured into the blood in preparation for waking up. Some research turned up the suggestion of eating 4-6 ounces of a slow-digesting food 30-60 minutes before bedtime to prevent a big blood-sugar drop in the early morning.  Do you know whether this works?  If it does, would you suggest a protein (nuts), or more of a complex carb (dried fruit)?  Or would you recommend an entirely different strategy? Thanks, Donna   3. Salad Dressing w/ Sunflower Oil? [40:52] Kate says: Hi Robb and Nicki, I really enjoy your podcast and find it to be both informative and entertaining. I have recently been using Tessemae salad dressing which is supposed to be Whole30 approved but I noticed it was made of high oleic sunflower oil. Is it a problem to consume this oil and if so, what would be a better salad dressing option that contains more omega 3? I believe the high Oleic sunflower oil is lower in polyunsaturated fats and omega 6 than normal sunflower oil but should it still be avoided?   4. Glucose Tolerance Test in Pregnancy [52:29] Whitney says: Hi Robb and Nicki! Been listening to you for about a year now. Love the show! Been gluten free for 10 years (Celiac) and Paleo-ish for about 4. I'm pregnant with my first child and nearing the point where I need to take the dreaded glucose tolerance test for gestational diabetes. I was floored when I found out it consists of drinking 50 grams of sugar on an empty stomach, and if you fail that test, you have to come back and do the same thing with 100 gram of sugar!!!! As someone who avoids sugar and keep my carbs in check this makes my stomach turn. I bought a cheap glucometer and have been monitoring my blood glucose for about a week in hopes the OB/GYN will take that as a replacement for the glucose test. On a broader level I wanted to get your general thoughts on this test. In my mind, this test for gestational diabetes is probably giving people diabetes! Am I making too big of a deal about a one time glucose test? I'm thinking its time for an update to the guidelines here, and surely there has to be a better way to test for gestational diabetes. Fasting insulin maybe? Some sort of HOMA score? I just think it's ridiculous that our health system is forcing all pregnant women to ingest 50-100 grams of sugar in one go! Would love your thoughts. Thanks for all you do! Whitney https://lilynicholsrdn.com/dealing-with-gestational-diabetes/   5. Grass-Fed Beef & Nutrition [59:10] Sofia says: Hi Robb, Thanks for everything you're doing for the planet!  It's really important work and I notice and appreciate you. I wanted to address something you said the last time I heard you on a Podcast....can't remember which one, I listen to so many. When you got to the question around nutrition you claimed that there really are no health benefits to eating grass-fed beef or dairy over conventionally raised, feed-lot animals. Are you aware that grain fed cows don't produce K2, a critical nutrient and the hormone necessary for escorting calcium out of the blood supply and into bone.  I could be wrong, but based on my research your claim that there is no notable difference between the nutrient density of the two animals is false.  Please reference Dr. Kate Rheaume-Bleue's book, Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox if you're curious about learning more.  If what she says is true, then the transition from grass-fed, regenaritive beef production to the feed lot, grain finished model could correlate to the rise in arteriosclerosis in the States and Europe.  Don't you think? Thanks again for the work you're doing! Lovingly, Sofia   Sponsor: This episode is sponsored by Joovv. Oils are a very important part of any diet, being that they can be the catalyst of health or culprit of inflammation. So when Greg Vetter set out to find a clean salad dressing on the market in 2009 and there was none, his mission was clear cut. Thus, he pulled his brothers together to launch Tessemae’s.. This week, we’re joined by Greg Vetter, the co-founder of Tessemae’s, which produces organic dressings and condiments made with simple and clean ingredients. Vetter and his two brothers launched the brand in 2009 and got off to a hot start; in its first week at Whole Foods, Tessemae’s broke the retailer’s record for sales in a single week. In the years that followed, Tessemae’s continued its rapid rise and was pegged as one of the next great natural food companies. Things cooled off, however, and while it’s still a well-respected brand with tens of millions in annual sales, Tessemae’s has faced a number of challenges to its growth, including a reduced retail footprint and supplier lawsuits. In an interview included in this episode, Vetter spoke about Tessemae’s impressive start and how a decade in development has come with huge wins and unexpected losses. He also explained why his “positively intense” approach to business is not for everyone, the undesirable association with “bro culture,” why he has some regrets about revealing sales projections, and why he believes that “the key to this game is surrounding yourself with people that you really trust and have your best interests at heart.” Show notes:  3:04: Interview: Greg Vetter, Co-Founder/CEO, Tessemae’s -- Vetter met with Taste Radio editor Ray  Latif in Baltimore, where he spoke about about his background, the brand’s origins and the unorthodox way in which he won placement at Whole Foods. He also explained why a local rib restaurant will forever be supplied with free Tessemae’s products, why the company launched a production facility, and why he blames VMG general partner Wayne Wu for labeling him as a “bro.” Later, he discussed why “no one kind of likes the Vetter Brothers,” the investment from Under Armor founder Kevin Plank’s venture capital firm, the dangers of bad employees and advisors, and explained why “the universe turned down” two potential acquisitions of the company.
