Every Israeli-Palestinian peace deal has failed. Could Trump's be any different? On Oct. 10, the Israeli cabinet approved a cease-fire deal brokered by the Trump administration, Turkey and Qatar. Since then, the living Israeli hostages have come home. Nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israel have been freed. Israeli forces have partially withdrawn from the Gaza Strip, and they're allowing in more desperately needed aid. This is finally, hopefully, the end of this war.But that was just the first part of the deal. The next phase is a lot more ambitious — and ambiguous. And while President Trump said the region would now “live, God willing, in peace for all eternity,” history would suggest otherwise.Robert Malley has worked on Middle East policy under President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden and President Bill Clinton. Hussein Agha negotiated on the Palestinian side, working under both Yasir Arafat, the first president of the Palestinian Authority, and the P.A.'s current president, Mahmoud Abbas. Together they wrote a sweeping new history of attempts at peace, “Tomorrow Is Yesterday: Life, Death, and the Pursuit of Peace in Israel/Palestine.” They join me to examine what could go right — or wrong — as the rest of the deal takes shape.Mentioned:Tomorrow Is Yesterday by Hussein Agha and Robert MalleyBook Recommendations:One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El AkkadSay Nothing by Patrick Radden KeefeDirty Hands by Jean-Paul SartreThe Just Assassins by Albert CamusThe History of the Peloponnesian War by ThucydidesThe Man Without Qualities by Robert MusilHollywood Babylon by Kenneth AngerThoughts? What a joy this is… While it is a slightly shorter episode, Pip could hardly turn Kevin down now could he…? Exactly. Unthinkable. So sit back and enjoy as Kevin essentially takes the reins with this one! It was expected though, as Kevin has basically found his true North by way of talking and telling stories for a living these days. But that's not to say he's thrown in the towel on films - oh good god no, as you will surely be aware of by the fact that his Jay & Silent Bob Reboot film is out and about and making much noise in the View Askew-niverse. This here is a chance to hear all about that, and the past hits in the Smith catalogue, as well as a gang of talking points including his gratefulness for being able to express himself for a living, the difference between making podcasts and movies, the younger Smith laying the foundations for later on, the power of the Q&A, brushes with death, and tons more but all held together with a true understanding of what he means to his fanbase and the importance of his products. After years in the legal world, she decided to build a life that aligned with her values, one centered around supporting women and sparking honest conversations about topics we don't talk about enough, like menopause, mental health, and identity shifts. And let me tell you: this conversation could not have come at a better time for me personally. I'm in the early days of my own perimenopause journey, and honestly, no one really prepares you for it. Lauren's compassion, insight, and humor made me feel seen, and I think you'll feel that too.We get real about:✨ Walking away from careers that no longer fit✨ The identity shift that comes with major life transitions✨ How perimenopause impacts your work, energy, and relationships✨ The importance of saying no (without overexplaining)✨ Mental health, motherhood, and permission to pivot, at any ageIf you've ever found yourself wondering “Is it me, or is everything changing?”, this one's for you.Connect with LaurenBuy the book: https://thecounselaur.com/millennialmenopausebook/ Her website: https://thecounselaur.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecounselaur/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/laurenatetenbaum/ Thanks for tuning in to The Career Flipper! If this episode made you think, laugh, or feel a little braver about your own flip, do me a favor:

He makes his case.Yudkowsky is a pioneer of A.I. safety research, who started warning about the existential risks of the technology decades ago, – influencing a lot of leading figures in the field. But over the last couple of years, talk of an A.I. apocalypse has become a little passé. Many of the people Yudkowsky influenced have gone on to work for A.I. companies, and those companies are racing ahead to build the superintelligent systems Yudkowsky thought humans should never create. But Yudkowsky is still out there sounding the alarm. He has a new book out, co-written with Nate Soares, “If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies,” trying to warn the world before it's too late.So what does Yudkowsky see that most of us don't? Bobbys got a bee in his bonnet this week — and he’s buzzing about everything from Bad Bunny and the Super Bowl to how online bots are quietly shaping what we think and feel. He breaks down the weird world of digital manipulation, why outrage spreads faster than truth, and how to keep your sanity in it all. Then Bobby dives into some baby questions from listeners (Razorback or Sooner?), shares what he and Caitlin are most looking forward to, and explains why they’re keeping some details private. Later, Bobby answers a listener's question about his Mount Rushmore of ’90s songs — from Counting Crows to Weezer — plus a fun debate between Bobby, Eddie and Brandon Ray: would you still pay to see a band live without all of their original members?
