Chiropractic philosophy—what role does it play in the profession? How does it impact patient care? And is it necessary for chiropractors to embrace it fully? In this episode of Rocket Chiro Podcast, Dr. Jerry Kennedy sits down with Dr. John Stenburg to dive deep into one of the most debated topics in chiropractic: the role of philosophy in practice. They discuss the tension between evidence-based and vitalistic chiropractors, the impact of philosophy on clinical decision-making, and whether philosophy has turned into a quasi-religious belief system for some chiropractors. From the hypocrisy of certain chiropractic marketing strategies to the ethical responsibility of those who claim to “turn power on,” this conversation is raw, insightful, and bound to stir some thoughts. Topics Covered: ✔️ Why chiropractic philosophy has always been divisive rather than unifying ✔️ The fine line between philosophy and evidence-based care ✔️ The hypocrisy of some “subluxation-based” chiropractors ✔️ Should patients have to adopt chiropractic philosophy to get care? ✔️ Why the most philosophical chiropractors should be the most precise ✔️ The real reason medical doctors don't refer to chiropractors ✔️ Why crapping on pain relief is dumb ✔️ How chiropractic can regain trust in healthcare Connect with Dr. John Stenburg: Dr. Stenburg's website: https://www.zenithchiroco.com/ Dr. Stenburg on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/zenith_chiro Dr. Stenburg's Upper Cervical Podcast: https://www.zenithchiroco.com/upper-cervical-podcast Additional Resources: Business & marketing training for chiropractors: https://rocketchiro.com/join Free practice assessment: https://rocketchiro.com/chiropractic-practice-assessment Best chiropractic websites: https://rocketchiro.com/best-chiropractic-websites Google Ads Management for Chiropractors: https://rocketchiro.com/google-ads-management-for-chiropractors Chiropractic SEO: https://rocketchiro.com/chiropractic-seo

The Schofield duo shares personal experiences of overcoming adversity and how challenges and obstacles have been the building blocks of strength in their professional journeys. They emphasize that, as Disney once said, "a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you" and discuss the importance of learning and moving on, especially in the face of difficulties encountered in practice. Setting the goal of attracting at least 10 new patients a week, Dr. Fred and Dr. FJ stress the crucial role of direction and training in achieving this milestone. They highlight the necessity of training not just the doctors but the entire team, including chiropractic assistants, to create a solid foundation for practice growth. Dr. Fred and Dr. FJ reveal the often-overlooked aspect of training – spending time with the team, reviewing phone interactions, and conducting simulations and role-playing exercises. They assert that this investment in training is where true growth begins, and offices that neglect this crucial step show it in their results. Sharing the example of the art of the New Patient phone call and the impact of frequencies on confidence and energy levels. They stress the significance of seizing every opportunity to get new patients in, especially during critical moments when individuals are in pain and seeking immediate care, and training your team so they know just how to make it happen. "Space, Time, Repetition" is a mantra coined at Schofield seminars, emphasizing the importance of mastering fundamentals for a clear direction. They stress the need for chiropractors to take charge and be in control of the patient experience, balancing consideration for the patient with the authority needed to provide effective care. They conclude by highlighting the transformative power of education, proclaiming it as the key to empowerment in chiropractic care. Dr. John Stenberg, Dr. Cameron Bearder, Dr. Al Cobb, Dr. Chad Billiris, Dr. Jeffrey Hannah, and Dr. Rebecca Kuzichev sat down to debrief the first day of the DCCJP program. There was no script, no talking points. What you hear is our live action recap/brain dump of the day. Stay tuned for these episodes each month as we continue throughout the Diplomate in Chiropractic Craniocervical Junction Procedures program over the next 3 years. This is the FIRST and ONLY behind the scenes look at how the doctors grow through this process. Takeaways The Diplomate Program is a higher level of study and specialization in chiropractic, demonstrating advanced knowledge and proficiency in a specific topic. Cognitive dissonance is the discomfort experienced when confronted with conflicting ideas, and it is important to approach it with an open mind and allow for further exploration and understanding. The practical application of chiropractic knowledge should focus on improving patients' health and function, rather than solely on structural alignment. The upper cervical community can benefit from further development in the areas of science, art, and philosophy to enhance clinical outcomes and understanding. The philosophy of chiropractic is stable but may require advancements based on new scientific discoveries. Advancements in science have significantly grown in the field of chiropractic over the years. Challenges exist in improving techniques due to the influence of personal experiences and the resistance to change. The fallacy of mastery assumes that one's current approach is correct, even if it may be incorrect. Openness to change and willingness to adapt techniques based on compelling scientific evidence is essential for progress. Learning from others and engaging in conversations with peers can lead to personal growth and new perspectives. Documenting thoughts and experiences allows for reflection and continuous improvement in chiropractic practice. Listeners are encouraged to find solace in the stillness of the chiropractic process, emphasizing the importance of being present and devoted to the current moment. Dr. Michael LenarzDr. Michael Lenarz has been a Blair Upper Cervical Doctor for about 34 years. He graduated from Sherman College in 1987. It was there that he learned about upper cervical work. The idea is to do the least amount of adjusting to get the most powerful healing.Growing up, Dr. Lenarz didn't hear much about chiropractors. At 25, he injured his shoulder while working in his father's factory. It wasn't terrible, but it was a fairly painful shoulder. That was what prompted him to go to his very first chiropractic visit. He went to an acquaintance, Dr. Arthur Berman, whose brother and father were also chiropractors. They had all three graduated from Sherman College. Dr. Berman shared with him a little bit about Chiropractic Philosophy, which stated, “There is in the universe an infinite intelligence which creates and sustains life, which creates and sustains the whole universe. That this infinite intelligence actually exists within all living things. This infinite intelligence, if it expresses itself properly without anything interfering with it in the living thing, in the human being, then the result is health.” After hearing that, Dr. Lenarz realized that he needed to be a chiropractor. Dr. Lenarz then moved to Washington State with his family. Originally to Seattle, they settled in an agricultural and logging community known as Sedro-Wooley, Washington. His focus throughout the years has been Blair upper cervical care. He began to take care of patients and just saw the miracle that it was supposed to be. Dr. Lenarz recalls one case that has stuck with him through the years. It's a story about a little baby that he took care of named Sarah. He had previously taken care of her mother and grandfather. When Sarah was born, it was a difficult birth, and the umbilical cord was wrapped around Sarah's neck three times. The problem was that every time Sarah tried to nurse or feed, she stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated. They left the hospital and went straight to Sedro-Wooley to see Dr. Lenarz. The whole family came and wanted to be checked! The baby was up first and was now 6 or 7 weeks old. After finding a misalignment in the upper neck and getting x-rays, he adjusted. He took Sarah and her mother to the resting area. After checking the others, he returned to check on Sarah and was shocked to see her mother feeding her. Dr. Lenarz recalls a patient with Trigeminal Neuralgia, the suicide disease. After an adjustment, her pain went away within a day. It did come back mildly a couple of times, but after just a couple more adjustments, she had been pain-free for months and was able to go on a trip.Dr. Lenarz had this to say, “ I'm just very passionate about this upper cervical work. I really love all chiropractic, and I think that the thing which is most powerful-- In fact, I've never, ever in all these years run across any other healing modality, which is as powerful as upper cervical care.”To contact Dr. Lenarz or to buy his book, go to https://www.drmichaellenarz.com/To contact Ruth, go to https://www.blairclinic.comruth@blairclinic.comhttps://www.facebook.com/rutelin

In this week's episode, Dr. Jay and Brad are broadcasting from Anchorage Alaska where they were speakers at the Alaska Chiropratic Society's 50th anniversary. They set aside time to talk to two of of the associations's leaders about their home state and their vision for the society. Dr. Curzie received my undergraduate degree from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA. I majored in biology with a minor in psychology. Dr. Franz was one of my favorite professors, offering guidance and excitement about my career choice. I chose to go to the fountainhead of Chiropractic, Palmer College of Chiropractic. My father and I visited the college and got to attend a rugby game. One of the players got injured on the field. A bunch of guys ran onto the field, one performed an adjustment on the player. He got up and ran into the game like nothing ever happened! My entire experience at Palmer was one I will never forget. I am still friends with many faculty and staff there and I still get great hugs from the ladies at the bookstore.Dr. Joel Adkins, DC The philosophy of chiropractic is so important to me that I spent over five years obtaining a degree in Chiropractic Philosophy. The power that made the body, heals the body explains much of what we do. The body knows how to function, it just needs no interference. I love adjusting children, they respond so well and so completely. Dr. Adkins, a lifelong Alaskan, graduated from Oregon State University in 1996 with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and Human Performance with a focus on Sports Medicine. Dr. Adkins received his Doctorate in Chiropractic in 2001 from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, CA. Currently, Dr. Adkins serves on the board of the Alaska Chiropractic Society, a member of the American Chiropractic Association, and Alaska's only certified Active Release Technique (ART) Instructor. In today's episode, we are going to discuss what we believe. When it comes to Chiropractic Philosophy, our own personal Worldview might conflict or contradict the Chiropractic Philosophy. What's more, is it possible that Chiropractic has its own Worldview? If our Chiropractic philosophy does not fit into a cohesive worldview, that contradiction will forever make it difficult for us to teach our patients to share our Chiropractic Philosophy. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/david-fowler/support

There is a weakness in only depending on the dogma of chiropractic that can actually interfere with your ability to embrace the philosophy of chiropractic. Philosophy can offer strength, while dogma leads to weakness.
The very special guest on this episode of The Mile High Podcast is the driving force behind Chiropractic research in Australia. At school, Marcus was fascinated with the human body and healthcare — so much so, in fact, that when he won an award for public speaking and debating, he bought an anatomy and physiology textbook with his prize money! It was the influence of his then-girlfriend (and future wife) that motivated Marcus to enter chiropractic school. He enrolled at Macquarie University (then the Sydney College of Chiropractic). Before finishing at Macquarie, he received a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy from the University of New South Wales. Then, he completed a Master of Chiropractic at Macquarie. Marcus had the good fortune to be mentored by Dr John Kelly, a well-known chiropractor who taught him the value of constantly learning more and working with other practitioners to show clients the results they seek. Marcus' approach to care looks at healing on all levels. With an integrated model of care, we achieve remarkable results for people where other avenues have failed. Marcus seeks to uncover and understand the needs of each client with the appropriate testing, then holistically apply the best forms of therapy for a total healing blueprint. Marcus has lectured and worked as a tutor at the Canberra Institute of Technology in Psychology. He's provided medical science courses for the Kim Dudley College for Natural Therapists. With his additional studies in kinesiology, Marcus became an instructor in the subject. He's even studied quantum physics and symbolism to work on an incredibly profound, holistic level with his clients. On this podcast, you will hear about: The establishment of Chiropractic Education Online as a not-for-profit to fund raise for vitalistic chiropractic endeavors. In today's episode, we will be talking with Dr Eric Russell. He has a Diplomate in Chiropractic Philosophy and he teaches the 1st Quarter Philosophy class at Life University. A common question involves the role of chiropractic philosophy in the daily life of a new practitioner, and how much philosophy should we teach to our patients. Today, we are going to discuss these topics and see if we can create some perspective for those who are unsure of where philosophy should fit in to their daily lives. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/david-fowler/support

However, it has everything to do with helping your body heal itself and work properly. Does this sound familiar? I tout this very idea when I talk about enzyme nutrition. As the episode progresses, we compare the notions behind enzyme nutrition with the traditional chiropractic philosophy. After that, we discuss how different doctors address nutritional stress differently. Some use other approaches, while other simply have a referral network they work through. Yet others specialize in certain aspects of health and healthy function. Of course, as long as they help people, a they are all wonderful. Dr. Badman Dr. Badman has been practicing in Pennsylvania for the past ten years. In fact, it is a life-long passion of his. Long ago, he experienced his first treatment after a martial arts tournament as a teenager. Afterwards, his instructor suggested he get checked and adjusted. In fact, that was when was he was first exposed to the Chiropractic Lifestyle. Especially because the natural approach and the study of nature really impacted him. He was quickly pulled into the world of natural wellness. ____________________________________________ After many years of clinical practice, Dr. Marrone has forged a remarkable career as a practitioner, educator and lecturer. Furthermore, his extensive knowledge of enzyme nutrition has made him a much sought after practitioner. If you are suffering from health problems that nobody seems to have the answer to, or are sick and tired of the revolving door approach of modern medicine, give Dr. Marrone a call to set up a consultation.

Very few in the chiropractor profession have made multiple legendary contributions in service to chiropractic. In my personal opinion, Dr. Judy Nutz Campanale belongs on that list.
Dr. Hahn's ultimate goal is to change the health care in America by putting chiropractic in the forefront of families' thoughts by correcting their spinal subluxations. Gratefully, I just finished up recently hosting IFCO TV with Frank Hahn in New Jersey at a TLC event. Mile High early registration and streaming access savings are ending September 30th Commit today to join us atwww.milehighchiroregistrations.com Dr. Hahn is well respected in all phases of chiropractic, from pediatric to geriatric and everyone between. He attended Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Dr. Hahn was presented a special award at graduation, the BJ Palmer Philosophy Award for his ability to communicate Chiropractic Philosophy. He has been practicing chiropractic in Franklin Park, NJ since graduation in 2003. He says his vision is for “every man, woman and child on the planet to become educated about the benefits of chiropractic”. Dr. Hahn created and appears regularly on IFCO-TV, an online television show he created for the International Federation of Chiropractors and Organizations (IFCO). He is active with the IFCO, and he is a board member of the Garden State Chiropractic Society. He has written a book, 47 Reasons to Visit Your Chiropractor, available on Amazon. In a vision of reaching more people with the IFCO's message, He had the idea of utilizing video over the Internet to create a way to connect more people with the values of the IFCO. Since then, IFCO-TV has exploded in popularity. And people from around the world tune in to IFCO-TV. They stream interviews from chiropractic events around the world, and also now live stream portions of some videos of some speakers from events. Dr. Hahn works countless hours on this streaming from events, such as our own Mile High Weekend, as well as New Beginnings, Focus, the IFCO Summit, and so many more. They are constantly being asked to attend programs, so they can have IFCO-TV. His vision is creating quality content that people want to see, and that will help spread chiropractic. He was awarded the Sherman College Chiropractor of the Year for 2016, due to his incredible relentless efforts to bring pure chiropractic message to the world. One of the highlights that I learned from this episode was that schools have streamed IFCO-TV and even canceled classes so people could watch and learn from it. It is indeed evident that watching this podcast would help you expand your vision and desire to have greater grasp of the chiropractic message. Enjoy!
