A revoir dès maintenant.

Paul Mooney once did an interview entitled "Too Black for Hollywood". It is a funny piece in the usual Mooney style, but it also touches on how his style of comedy was never really accepted by the vast majority of people. Mooney was able to make a career for himself and lived comfortably for most of his life, but this was largely because he remained true to his roots, never really opting to spend large amounts of money outside of the black community. He lived in black neighborhoods and spent his money their his whole life. He also went into great detail about how most black entertainers simply do not do this, how the first thing minority entertainers do is abandon the communities they grow up in. These minority entertainers boast about how they came from nothing and made themselves into something. The "nothing" they refer to coming from is a just another cheap shot directed at poor people. In the minds of minority celebrities, not getting paid millions of dollars means that you are a loser; they are just like Donald Trump in that sense and it should come as no surprise that so many of them were willing to abandon poor people of color all because Trump threw them some damn tax breaks. I will never forget that. I will not allow people to forget that these fake ass "pro black" celebrities sucked the dick of a white man so they could make more money, and leave people like me to rot in poverty. I have no love for traitors. These minority celebrities are always the first ones to hop on every movement created by black people, not because they agree with the movement, but because they want to profit off of it. And minority celebrities have profited greatly from the struggle of poor minorities who look just like them and have the same talent as them, but just were not chose by white producers. Because these minority celebrities are chosen by white establishment racists, nothing they say can really be trusted. You have no way of knowing how sincere any of these people are when they say something on twitter or youtube. They could just be telling a lies. If you go by their actions, you will see that these people have done nothing apart from making phony speeches about equality, while allowing the same racist casting in their industry to continue. But they were perfectly okay with benefiting financially from the the George Flyod death, which received widespread political coverage. There were all kinds of interviews with rich black people and other minority entertainers when Flyod was murdered, all of a sudden these rich people who did everything they could to get away from the black community, living in white neighborhoods like those found in Beverly Hills and the Midwest, remembered where they came from. But up until that point all they did was make fun of people like me and deny us jobs just like their white owners. The reason this changed was not, as they like to claim, the violent death of George Flyod; the real reason they "cared" about black people again was because they wanted even more money than they already had. At the time of Flyod's death and the early protesting that occurred, white America was mostly on the side of Black Lives Matter. And wherever there are white people, you will find minority celebrities trying to make money. Why? Because the people who bring you minority entertainment are mostly white, about eighty-three percent of theater producers and writers are white and white actors compose sixty-six percent of every cast. A bunch of minority entertainers, all of them wealthy, fired off a letter to the theatre community about its lack of people of color onstage about a year ago today. Nothing has came of that letter; nothing has changed. No one is really fighting for people like me in the entertainment industry, aside from myself that is. No celebrity can understand the pain rejection and despair. They have their wealth and fame to always fall back on. Spare me the act; none of y'all really care about us. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/morecontentplease/support

The only word that comes to mind when I think of the case of Ronald Greene is "tragedy". It is tragic for so many reasons: tragic because of the fear he must have felt, tragic to see another black man beaten like a dog in the street (worse than a dog in the street; we all know cops love dogs more than black people), tragic because this god fearing man was treated like a common criminal even though he followed the appropriate christian social cues (no love for thy neighbor is the white christian blue lives matter lexicon), but most of all it is tragic because it has given the media a chance to pretend it actually cares again. It is almost painful watching these high salaried intellectuals attempt to feign interest in the matter of the black American populous. What do they know about it? The cops are not coming to their news studios with SWAT teams; they are protected because they are a part of the establishment. They are on television everyday, telling you that congress is going to beat the republicans this time, wondering how much further they can stretch that lie until their ratings take a plunge. Am I saying that media gets paid off by political interest? Perhaps. It would not be all that shocking to me if it had come to that; the news is so plain Jane these days that it would not surprise me one bit. I have also seen documentaries, some of them very well done, exposing the clash between corporate media companies and their sponsors; often times such reports leak after solid investigative reporters do a shocking report on a particular sponsor of their network. The exposed corporation then threatens to pull out their cash unless the reports are silenced. The network, scared like a bunch of little babies about losing a few viewers from their already massive followings, kills the report, generally causing the investigative reporter to resign (sometimes willingly and sometimes not). Though, the aforementioned scenario makes for great documentaries, I would much rather my news station opt for exposing the truth. What is it exactly that they are supposed to do aside from telling the truth? Are we watching the news for the witty banter? Because if that is the case these lame reporters should be filed under daytime television. The New York Times recently wrote an article entitled, "Four Ways the United States Has Changed Since George Flyod's Death". Now, after a long day of watching people mock George Flyod on the one year anniversary of his death, you may understand how I would be a bit irritated. Any comment sections beneath a video about Flyod is full of comments that basically say he deserved to die a horrible death. That is how many Americans feel. How many Americans feel this way? Well, if you look at the data, you will see it is the exact same amount of people that thought he should have died in the street like a dog a year ago. So, literally nothing has changed. Nothing. Where do such reports even originate? In the land of rainbows and puppy dogs perhaps. Who knows? The human mind is quite funny; it tends to wrap things up in neat little packages when it tires of them, maybe apply a fresh coat of paint here and there. But that does not fix any problems and, of course, this is the point. When the media comes in and attempts to pretty up the neglect for black humanity in this country it is my job to call that out. Why? Because of my child. Because I want him to at least see me stand up for myself. It is the least I can do for him. So what if it offends you or anyone else? It's not about you or anyone else. Of course you are tired of hearing about black people. That was always expected. What am I to do? Discard my convictions for your comfort? I cannot. I will not. What happened to Ronald Greene was not unforgivable. You just cannot say, "well, I'll get over it" to something like that, not after seeing the tape. I still feel the same way I always have about abuse of power as I always have as well. I despise it even still. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/morecontentplease/support

Noah Green committed the cowardly act of murder in recent days. By doing so he has drawn the attention of many seemingly well-meaning conservatives, who now, after failing to mind the storming of our own government, are calling for democrats to denounce the Nation Of Islam, a racist organization that has been infecting the political stability of our nation for decades. Of course democrats have denounced the Nation of Islam numerous times, only to then be scrutinized by republicans for being racist against black conservatives. The point is that, whenever you attempt to legitimately criticize a conservative institution, all of a sudden the liberal is the one who is at fault. This is what bullies do. A bully will walk into your beautiful garden, tear up the flowers, eat the strawberries, set the lemon tree on fire, and then blame you for not telling anyone about it as soon as the authorities arrive. Bullies always find a way to blame the victim of their transgressions. And so I do not care what apologists think about my criticism of the Nation of Islam because reactions to the very subject have become so politicized by propaganda, some originating from within this country and other from without, that all responses to the topic seem fueled far more by emotion than substance. So, what is the truth behind the famed nation of Islam? It is a tale of lunacy, deceit and triumph; it is, in many ways, the tale of all grandiose movements that grow so much in popularity that they fail to be restrained by decency. In the 1960s, members of the Nation of Islam openly referred to white people as the spawn of Satan, a kind of lesser human, if you will. You see, the NOI has no problem with racism, not in the way you do anyway. They have kind of a double standard when it comes to that. Louis Farrakhan, who rose to power after Malcolm X died (the NOI had made threats against Malcolm's life of various occasions and it was a member of the NOI who carried out the murder) would have you believe that his distaste for certain races of people is simply the result of genetics. Farrakhan believes that Europeans are a kind of subspecies, an incomplete black man if you will. It is essentially eugenics for black Americans. And it really does go that far. Farrakhan's brand of hatred also extends to homosexuals and women. Now, of course he would call that love, but the line between love and hate remains blurry for hatemongers. It is not loving to force women to be submissive to me; to do such a thing is to treat a woman as if she was a child. Yet these self-proclaimed black Muslims (it is worth noting that, for the most part, the Islamic community has condemned and does not associate with the NOI) will often be heard speaking to their women as if they were their slave owners, a cruel irony considering this groups loves to was philosophical about the woes of slavery. We need not be fooled by such inflammatory rhetoric. I am as passionate as the last person; in fact, I would argue that I have more passion in one inch of my finger than Farrakhan has in his entire body. However, inciting others to be violent by spreading rumors of race wars or stoking the fire of adding credence to segregation does absolutely nothing to promote equality. It is the very opposite of equality, oppression. Black conservatives have absolutely nothing to offer modern black society. We have moved past the point of "the white man" being the problem. We know now that the problem is the system. The recent revelation that Derek Chauvin had used the same deadly hold he used on George Flyod during prior incidents demonstrates that our system is susceptible to the manipulation of racist sentiments. One does not have to be a Nazi to be a racist and racism's ultimate end is the extermination of the opposing race. We can certainly talk about the real problems of systemic racism in America, but we need to leave behind the violent and childish rhetoric that the NOI promotes.  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/morecontentplease/support

The History Of Jim Crow Etiquette

More Content Talk: News That Cuts Through the B******t

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 24, 2021 16:56

I grew up learning about racism, but much of what I learned was quite generic. There were stories of heroes and evil-doers in the struggle for civil rights, but the history of the struggle remained a bit of a mystery. Obviously I knew that slavery had led to a kind of superiority in white Americans because they had never been enslaved. However, I did not realize the extent to which the Jim Crow era had played in solidifying the idea that blacks were inferior to whites. I recently read an article where all of these laws are laid out and discussed in painful detail, shedding light on this nation's history of white supremacy. The laws I read about are mostly from the south, where Jim Crow really took off. However, it is important to note that this mentality was shared by Northerners and Westerners, who, instead of making segregation legal, relied heavily on government and financial institutions to keep blacks from moving to their states. Northerners and Westerners knew damn well what was going on in the South, that blacks were being lynched and persecuted, yet they chose to do nothing for years. Western and Northern members of the union could have offered more jobs to black people from other states if they wanted to. There were plenty of low skill jobs available all over the nation during the Jim Crow era, yet liberal whites specifically went out of their way to not hire blacks, and to not allow them to move into their neighborhoods because they wanted money from powerful southern business interests, the same backroom deals continue to this day, which is why progressive laws on civil rights never make it past the powerless "squad's" desk. Since blacks were stuck, and had no other place to go, they had to deal with Jim Crow as a part of their life. Jim Crow etiquette plainly stated that blacks were inferior to whites. In order to demonstrate this, a series of laws were initiated instructing blacks on how to behave around white people. I cannot stress enough that this was written into our law system, and respected by every white person in America as the way to deal with the burden of the black race. White people during Jim Crow did were still very upset that they could not own slaves. Business owners specifically, believed that freeing slaves was one of the worst mistakes the nation had ever made, forcing them to pay a living wage to people who they felt did not even deserve of job. Whites of the day thought, as most of their relatives still do today, that making them behave in a civil manner around black people was an infringement on their rights. Generally, in America, when a white person starts going on about their rights being infringed upon it is because they are asked to treat blacks with respect. This is unthinkable to the white psyche. I have only met a few white people who actually practice what they preach, and treat blacks equally. Could one of those white people be you, the person listening to this show? It could be. I don't know you personally, so I have no way to make the judgement. But is it really an insult for me to assume a white person is racist in a nation that has racists laws respected by the vast majority of white citizens up until the present day? The war on drugs is nothing more than a war on minorities and those who associate with them. Also, black protesters were ritualistically brutalized by white police officers, and the various white supremacists who showed up to "help". Also, just as one brute was sentenced for the killing of George Flyod, another white cop was exonerated and allowed back on the force after executing a black man. So please, spare me the "things have changed" argument. Nothing has changed. You still think I'm inferior when I listen to music, or if I don't use your grandiose and quite pretentious form of English. I'm still inferior when I don't smile and dance for you if you send me a paltry 1400 check for years of abuse and neglect. It's all still exactly the same. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/morecontentplease/support

The left basically abolished the police as Derek Chauvin is found guilty in the death of George Flyod. Flyod died of a drug overdose while being arrested and nothing officer Chauvin did caused Flyod's death or caused any real injury. That didn't matter to the left, with threats of violence if found not guilty and the jury reasonably scared of being doxed and having the mob come after them and their families voted to conflict Chauvin. If police officers know that responding to a crime and enforcement of the laws means they will be prosecuted if forced to defend themselves, or if the person dies of a drug overdose or even a heart attack why then would they bother responding to a crime? Knowing this, police officers will be walking off the job in mass with no replacements as you would have to be insane to become a police officer knowing that anytime you respond to a crime means they will be politically prosecuted. this means that it's Christmas for criminals. We could say this is a return to the rules of the wild west, but if police officers are politically prosecuted what do you think will happen to you if you defend yourself? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thejacobjohnstonshow/message

We hear far too much about happiness and remaining positive in this nation, so much so that every mean ass thing some cop does is automatically depicted as a positive fight against criminality. The reality is generally much more complex, as in the case with Daunte Wright, who was murdered by a blood thirsty cop while handcuffed in his car. Yes, we all know the moderate side of the story, which states that black people are naturally violent and therefore must be killed. We reject the moderate view of cop killings outright because all they want to do is make money off of the whole stupid peace movement that has been going on since the 60s, that's sixty years for those of you who are keeping count, and we've actually lost ground on the liberal front since this movement was initiated. No one wants to hear that give peace a chance crap anymore. It's time that these cops were ridiculed, and exposed for the frauds they are. I am done mincing words with killer cop apologists. There will be no more understanding the cop's point of view. If you want to understand a cops point of view you can listen to any number of television networks that will sit there and take the police side on every issue imaginable. I am not going to watch more conservative news casters and hollywood celebrities pretending to be liberals to make a buck off of the hard work that real liberals do. No one wants to hear what some idiot pundit has to think about murder. A murder is a murder. It is illegal. We don't have to talk about it, nor should we. It should just be wrong. But instead these moronic pundits have turned a clear case of abuse of power into another stupid debate. They actually want you to believe this dumb cop accidentally shot someone. The story is, and this is serious, that the cop mistook her taser for a gun, and that she didn't really mean to kill an unarmed man sitting in his car. This is just plain insulting to anyone who is more intelligent than a five year old. What the hell are you talking about? Do you expect me to buy this bullshit? How stupid do people think I am? The media is perpetuating the nonsensical lie that Mr. Wright was somehow at fault. They are spinning what really occurred so that they can turn this into a money making scheme just as they did with George Flyod. Well, I'm calling them out. These cops are killers, cold blooded killers who work with white nationalists very closely. These cops also have drug ties that are not getting much press. Several times there have been instances where drug seizures completely disappeared after the cops raided a drug lords house. Where did the drugs go then? Did Antifa steal them? Was it the Illuminati that took all that damn cocaine and heroin? That's probably the dumb ass argument they would make, either that or that China stole it. In reality, cops get caught dealing drugs all the damn time. The boys in blue also love to frequent prostitutes and illegal brothels. Cops break the law, flagrantly, all the time when they are not buys bothering black people or eating for free at some local business. They are the ones causing a lot of the damn crime, yet they are allowed to break the law in the name of safety? What the hell are you smoking that you would think this is okay? I guess it's some of the heroin and coke that those dirty cops are selling you. You would have to be extremely high to believe that all these people are ending up dead for no reason. A lot of these victims who end up killed by cops were actually going to testify in some other case. Breona Taylor is a perfect example. Further, cops put themselves in these situations by torturing their victims with verbal and physical abuse, which of course will cause any human being to flee. The "well, they resisted argument" is not any kind of valid argument. All sentient beings will attempt to flee violent situations, and some will fight back. These cops know that. They enjoy killing black people for sport.   --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/morecontentplease/support

This is the second show in a series in which we explore the concept of capitalism and its effects on serious issues facing us in this time. Homelessness is a problem that has been made worse by the effects of an unregulated form of capitalism. If we stop for a minute and observe our surroundings, we can see that this problem hasn't gotten any better in the last 20 years. Despite policy and public outcry, the solutions we propose are not working. There is a stigma about homelessness and homeless people. This cultural attitude has to change if we have any hope of offering a new vision on how to solve this problem. In this episode we talk about the devastating effects this crisis is having on our communities. The rates of homeless families have gone up, there are more youth experiencing homelessness now than ever before, and our response as a human family must change because the old ways of doing business aren't working. We also cover the cottage industry of anti-homeless architecture in major American cities and what charity organizations are doing to alleviate the suffering and help the most vulnerable. We also say the names of our fallen for this week, Corey Stingley and give an update on the George Flyod case, AND we highlight two activists doing great work in their communities, NOHO Home Alliance and Love Beyond Walls. The Black Life Matter protests in the US still continue in the aftermath of the killing of George Flyod. The incident has also led to protests in other countries and has once again sparked conversations about racial discrimination. During this time, Indian cricketers (the IPL Sunrisers Hyderabad team) have also been accused of using racist comments against the former West Indies skipper Darren Sammy. In this episode, Gaurav and Mihir talk about how athletes have spoken out about such issues in the past and the problems that have arisen when they have done so. Gaurav also speaks to the former Chicago Bulls star, Craig Hodges, who was run out of the league for being politically outspoken, about this matter. Everyday Black men and women endure racial discrimination, prejudice, injustice, and oppression. Racism is a national crisis and has been since America’s founding. Reading the recent stories of George Flyod and Breonna Taylor, who are among thousands of other Black people victim of police brutality is upsetting and disheartening. I’ve thought very hard about how to approach this week’s episode, while also being conscious of my privilege. I can’t breathe" berappt. Struktureller Rassismus reicht in alle Bereiche unserer Gesellschaft. "Dieses Mal ist anders", gilt auch für Machiavelli Push. Salwa Houmsi und Jan Kawelke fokussieren sich diese Woche nur auf ein Thema: Black Lives Matter. Sie telefonieren mit betroffenen jungen Menschen in den USA und mit der Autorin Alice Hasters und der Journalistin Aminata Belli über das, was noch zu tun ist und was Hoffnung gibt.

Inside Influence

Greetings everyone, my name is Julie Masters and welcome to another episode of Inside Influence. In which I delve into the minds of some of the world’s most fascinating influencers – or experts in influence - to get to the bottom of what it really takes to own your voice - and then amplify it to drive an industry, a conversation, a movement or a Nation. ===== I’m sure you, like me and 99% of the population of this planet, would think of yourself as a rational person. The dictionary definition of rational is: ‘based on or in accordance with reason or logic’. ‘Reason and logic’; I’ll take those words – who doesn’t like to think of themselves as logical and reasonable? Well, I’ve got some news for you – and it’s probably not a surprise. We are not as rational as we think we are. You are not – and I am not. According to my next guest, most of our day to day decisions are not carefully evaluated, thought through - or weighed-up. But instead based on beliefs, personal preferences and working assumptions – each one cross-checked against our environment, background, desires, feelings and mood at any specific time. And most of that… is done unconsciously without you even being aware. Sound hard to navigate? Unfortunately it is.As I record this introduction, the aftershock, global protesting and heartbreak following the death in custody of George Flyod – is still very much ongoing. And if that situation teaches us anything – it should be how hard wired, unconscious (and often dangerous) our beliefs systems can be. But it’s not enough to sit in that knowledge - what comes next is probably the most important question when it comes to understanding influence – what does it take to understand, direct – and in this case – redirect our beliefs into new behaviour? My guest today has spent a good portion his life studying the gap between what we say is important – and what we actually do - both for individuals, companies and social movements. A speaker, writer and advisor - Tom Asacker takes a different approach to creating momentum, and that approach is all about belief, desire and the physics of action. He has worked with Fortune 500 companies, co-founded a high-tech medical device company - won the George Land Innovator of the Year Award – and is now the author of ‘The Business of Belief’ focusing on the hidden logic of behaviour. In today’s conversation we talk about.... · How to close the gap I mentioned earlier – taking your team, your community or yourself from ‘talking the talk’, to ‘walking the walk’. · Why as a leader you have to embrace the desires and beliefs of those you are trying to influence – especially when the horizon is uncertain. And I don’t mean just acknowledge those beliefs (which actually was a shift in my thinking), but instead find a place where you can authentically own them as your own. · How to get over the past experiences and stories that impact how you show up - so you can arrive at a situation open, but still armed with certainty. · And why it’s physically impossible to hit a baseball – I know this sounds like this would have nothing to do with influence – but it has everything to do with waiting for the right moment… vs. swinging with intent and trusting you have the muscle to follow through when the angle becomes clearer. What I want you to reflect on in this episode is how hidden and hard wired our beliefs can be. We are complex and multi-dimensional beings – who bring our entire history and belief system with us to any table or conversation. However, by accepting that - and by committing to the excavate – understand – and work with someone’s beliefs – including our own – we start to walk the fastest and most powerful road to influence that I know. So, take a seat, let the logical world go for awhile – hard as that is right now - and open your mind to the thoughts and (ever flexible) beliefs of Tom Asacker. "I can't breathe..."Dette blir en spesiell episode. Demonstrasjonene raser nå over hele USA. NRK (CNN/NBC analyse) Tallene viser at politiet i Minneapolis har brukt forskjellige former for kvelertak 428 ganger siden 2012. «We must dominate the battle space» sier en av Donald Trums militære rådgivere. Hun står selv inne for det hun sier her. There are two BIG PROBLEMS here: Magnesium has been largely missing from US soil since the 1950s... which explains why it’s estimated that up to 80% of the population may be deficient... AND... Most supplements contain only 1 or 2 forms of magnesium... when in reality there are at least 7 that your body needs and benefits from. That’s why I’m so excited to tell you about a new magnesium product I’ve been taking now called, Magnesium Breakthrough. It’s the ULTIMATE magnesium supplement, easily the best I’ve ever seen or experienced... with all 7 forms of this mineral. I’m even more excited because it’s finally BACK IN STOCK! Magnesium Breakthrough has been selling faster than the company who makes it, BiOptimizers, has been able to keep up with. It’s already sold out a few times and due to supply shortages with everything going on in the world, it could very well be sold out again shortly. The CJ Evolution Team was able to arrange for some stock to be set aside just for our audience and I guarantee it’s the BEST deal available on this product.  Seriously! With volume discounts combined with our custom 10% coupon code, CJE10, you can save up to 40% off select packages of Magnesium Breakthrough! That’s an AMAZING value.  And I promise that deal is ONLY available on this specific website, www.magbreakthrough.com/cjevolution You won’t find that deal on Amazon or even the company’s own website. This deal is exclusively for podcast listeners and it’s legitimately for a limited time while supplies last. They’ve also completely revamped their checkout process and it’s much friendlier and easy.Magnesium Breakthrough is the most effective magnesium supplement I’ve ever tried. Say goodbye to having to buy 7 different bottles of magnesiums to get the complete dose. Go to www.magbreakthrough.com/cjevolution and use coupon code CJE10 to save up to 40% off select packages to get the most full spectrum and effective magnesium product ever. As you head into your Monday I want you to remember Perseverance. The country has been through many difficulties in the past, and we have persevered because we came together as Americans. That is what we do. The death of George Flyod at the hands of thug cops was beyond horrible, but those cops are not a reflection of ALL police officers who serve and they will be held accountable.  This reminds me of the riots and destruction after the Rodney King incident in LA. It took many years to rebuilt, but we did. I believe it’s going to take a long time to heal from the current situation, but we will. We will persevere. I want to leave you with “I Believe” by Daniel T DuRan I BELIEVE IN MY BADGEI believe in my badge I believe in the weight of the gun I carryI believe in the 5am smell, after a rain storm and the city is truly ours as night gives way to dayI believe in the kiss I give my family before I walk out the door I believe in the kisses I'm given when I return home I believe in the talks with my crew about nothing that mean everything I believe in the fear that over takes me every time I get out of my car or walk into a house that is not my own I believe in the fear of the unknownI believe in the power to over come my fear and go forward I believe in goodI believe in evil I believe in my community I believe I am a cop Stay tuned for more great guests and shows on The CJEvolution Podcast www.cjevolution.com Patrick

2020 has been an insane year so far. No one could have predicted or been prepared for the trajectory this year has taken. From COVID-19 to an almost World War to what's happening in America right now, this year has shown us just how unpredictable everything is. Regardless, we still have to carry on living and on this episode, I discuss how we can use our intrinsic human values to get through everything that might seem like an inconvenience like the events of 2020.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/someblackguythoughts)
