My guest today is author and Sober Coach Dupe Witherick who specialises in mindset, manifestation and human design. In this episode:- Dupe began drinking more when she got to university. Her drinking continued to ramp up when she began working as a management consultant She worked in the City of London where the work-hard, play-hard culture prevailed After having her daughter, Dupe joined the mommy juice culture. We discussed the normalization of drinking to cope with parenting Dupe was smart enough to notice at the age of 40 that alcohol was not really serving her… She realized drinking had become a habit rather than enjoyment. She stopped drinking in November 2020 initially for a 21-day challenge but was so blown away by the benefits of alcohol free living she carried on.. Her Top 3 Benefits were:-  Improved physical health, such as running and yoga.  Enhanced clarity, bravery, and sense of purpose.  Greater appreciation for nature & everyday pleasures. Dupe's increased clarity led her to question her corporate career and she decided to train as a coach. She has now transitioned from her corporate role to a coach. Specializing in alcohol-free well-being and transformational coaching. During the conversation we heard how Dupe's life changed when she ditched the booze… She got fitter, started to enjoy everyday pleasures again and achieved the mental clarity to see that it was time for a complete career change She also had the courage to leave her corporate job and work independently as a coachj It all started with a 21 day Challenge You heard her encouraging people to take a break from alcohol to assess what impact it's really having on your life.. Dupe has written a book called "A Cocktail of Clarity," to encourage to explore alcohol-free living. It has been said that necessity is the mother of invention and Debbie Adler epitomizes that phrase. In 2006, she opened Sweet Debbie's Organic Cupcakes bakery, the first to feature vegan and sugar-free treats.  However, a year later her son was born with many life-threatening allergies, forcing her to take an even deeper dive into nutrition and food-related illnesses. Because of her son's needs, she developed recipes and new baked goods that were not only vegan and sugar-free, but also gluten and allergy free. Her business skyrocketed.  Her son is now 14 and doing great, thanks in part to her diligence. Debbie has since gone on to write three cookbooks, including her latest, The Mediterranean Plate, which is what we discuss today.  This book is filled with delicious Moroccan, Greek, Spanish, Italian, French, and Middle Eastern recipes without all of the oils, fish, meats, and cheeses that are so prevalent on the Mediterranean diet. In fact, not only is every recipe whole food plant-based, but also salt, oil, sugar, and gluten-free. We dig through foods that may be familiar to you, but with Debbie's special twist - think gnocchi, moussaka, pancakes, her recipe for feta, soups, and so much more.  Cooking from scratch can be intimidating, which is why most of these dishes are “one-pot” recipes, minimizing mess and clean-up. She even provides her recommended equipment and pantry staples to make this adventure as simple as possible.  So enjoy this conversation and mouth-watering tour through, “The Mediterranean Plate,” with Debbie Adler. Episode Highlights: Debbie's reason for starting her vegan and sugar-free bakery Why write The Mediterranean Plate? Her Top 18 Ingredients for Healthy Aging Kitchen must-haves and favorite spices and seasonings Gathering grains, flours, and powders - What should you have in your pantry? Preferred sweeteners, canned foods, and favorite tools/appliances Rip and Debbie's mouth-watering tour through the book! On today's episode, I'm chatting with Carol Scheidel who is a retired nurse and the owner of RJ Buckle Associates, which is education and consulting program that focuses on instructing nurses how to use Aromatherapy in Clinical settings.  Carol began her Aromatic journey in 2002 when she attended a conference focused on integrating complementary modalities into their healthcare system.  Having a supportive chief nurse officer who embraced Aromatherapy made it possible for Carol, and the other nurses who attended, to write the policies for their program and implement it into their hospital system in 2004.  Within the medical system, they created a protocol that could be used within the medical record.  The doctors and nurses were able to place orders for Aromatherapy to be used for any patient or family member who were interested in using complementary modalities.  Each nurse in the Aromatherapy program also had other hospital duties and participated out of a love for complementary modalities.  They have been able to create personal nasal inhalers for the specific purposes in the different departments of the hospital. In 2016 Carol retired from nursing and met up with Jane Buckle in London.  Jane told Carol that she wanted to sell the business to Carol and to carry on with the mission of educating healthcare workers in how to use this amazing modality as well as the M-Technique.Tune in to hear more. Her Top 3:HelichrysumLavenderFrankincenseLinks:Lemon Balm CoachingRJ Buckle AssociatesMusic by Adipsiahttps://adipsia.bandcamp.com/Recorded: 9/2/2020Support the show

She’s a singer. She’s a trombone player. She’s a songwriter. She’s a performer. It would have been a lot easier if Aubrey Logan would have just picked one. But she’s never been one to be pigeon-holed. She lives her life outside the box and that makes her difficult to define. And that’s okay with her because she purposely defies definition. Her Top 5 debut album in 2017 helped establish her as one of the premier young singer-instrumentalists in the country. Her participation in Dave Koz’s #1 album, Summer Horns, helped cement her position. But it was her own #1 album in 2019 that really helped Aubrey Logan become a household name with music aficionados around the world. Because it was that album, Where the Sunshine is Expensive, that showed the depth of songwriting that she’s capable of.  In between her recording commitments, Logan finds time to share the stage with artists such as Alabama Shakes, Meghan Trainor, Pharrell Williams, Josh Groban, Dave Koz, The Commodores and The Boston Pops at venues as diverse as Ronnie Scott’s famous jazz club in London to the expansive Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. She’s appeared on Jimmy Kimmel, the Grammys’ Award Show, and ABC’s The Goldbergs. Aubrey has recorded a duet with her childhood hero, Gloria Estefan. She’s won multiple awards at the Montreux Jazz Festival. She’s beloved by not just the dedicated fans of Postmodern Jukebox, but she considers the creator, Scott Bradlee, and her colleagues within the collective her true friends. And she loves performing. But it’s in her writing that we find out who Aubrey Logan really is. Learn more about Aubrey Logan at www.aubreylogan.com.
