In 1876, the poet Stéphane Mallarmé published a poem entitled "The Afternoon of a Faun." He doubted anyone could set it to music successfully. But composer Claude Debussy did exactly that. The music runs only about nine minutes long, but it helped give birth to the modern era as we know it.

This week we finish up with Anatoly Slivko Part 2!!!! We're not going to lie! It's nice to not think about this monster for a little while. He was the longest active Serial Killer in Russian history, yet the details of his life and crimes to the English-speaking world have been conflicting at best. We have tracked down and pieced together hard-to-find English translations of Russian news coverage, books, documentaries, and court testimonies to build one of the most complete overviews of this obscure monster currently available. TRIGGER WARNING!!! Murder Torture Sexual assault Abuse Child abuse/pedophilia Animal cruelty/animal death Active from 1964 - 1985, Anatoly Slivko would ultimately be diagnosed by a forensic psychiatric examination as a pedophile, necrophiliac, sadist, necrosadist, pyromaniac, and having clinical vampirism. Today’s nine-minute show focuses on the Mirage in Las Vegas. The thing about the Mirage is that it has excellent historical value in relation to the Las Vegas strip. It was the first super casino; it transformed the entire concept of casinos in Las Vegas. The scale of the Mirage, the way it was laid out, it all started there. There was never an example of this type of casino resort until the Mirage, and it is truly a fantastic property from a historical perspective. It’s also somewhat got that old-school Vegas vibe! Listen is as your hosts talk all things Mirage and what you can expect. Steve shares his personal insights, opinions, and experiences. We talk about its French-English language blend, as well as some of the beautiful architecture and designs which give Paris Las Vegas its special flavor. Contrasting Paris to other venues like Planet Hollywood, we then talk about rooms, what they’re really like inside, and why Michael has only just started recommending that people stay at Paris Las Vegas. Developed by famed developer Jay Sarno, Circus Circus has been an integral part of the Vegas gaming landscape since its inception in 1968. Today we review Circus Circus in only nine minutes. We open our conversation by highlighting its charming, old school appeal before diving into its history. Host Michael shares stories from its early days — did you know that the casino entrance was originally a slide? Or that they had an elephant that would pull the handles of the slot machines? After talking about its transformation from a high-end to a mid-market property, we explore its key features, including its legendary steak house, and that it offers free gaming lessons. Near the end of the episode, we chat about its recent sale to MGM and present our final views on whether you should stay there. Nine minutes is just about the amount of time needed to review anything…or so Steve (@LasVegasUK) seems to think. On this episode of ZorkCast Steve introduces a new concept, known as “Nine minutes on…” whereby Michael and Steve spend strictly nine minutes discussing something related to Las Vegas and/or travel. They aren’t allowed to go any further, as Michael has a special buzzer that goes off once the strict nine-minute time limit is up. The first-ever “Nine Minutes On” episode features Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Las Vegas. Michael and Steve discuss what the hotel rooms are like, how the casino is, and where are the best spots to eat, all in strictly 9 minutes. Michael shares some stories of his own along the way, whilst Steve shifts the focus to include Mandalay Bay’s two other hotel concepts – The Delano and the Four Seasons. The discussion moves onto one of the most attractive elements of Mandalay Bay, the pool area and the fantastic wave pool. We also consider the location of the resort, whilst a negative for some Michael highlights how it is excellent for #AVGeeks due to the resort overlooking the airport. Before Michael and Steve know it, the buzzer is going off, and they have to end their discussion. Are you thinking of staying at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino? Or even just considering dropping in for a bite to eat, or to play in the casino? Our nine-minute snapshot into the resort is the perfect way to make your decision ahead of any Las Vegas trip.Introducing the new co-host for ZorkCast Steve - LasVegasUKFollow him on Twitter @LasVegasUKGuidanceLiving the Mlife: An Introduction – MGM M life Rewards Loyalty ProgramMandalay Bay Las VegasFour Seasons Las VegasDelano Las VegasZorkCast FaceBook Group- JOIN TODAY! Even though it is not 9 minutes with the intro and outro included, there are two reasons I wanted this episode to be 9 minutes. First alliteration. Second, we can get into the deep weeds when it comes to neurotransmitters so I wanted to give you a quick value-packed episode covering the essentials. 5 Doctors follows Spencer, a miserable young stand-up comedian and hypochondriac, convinced that he’s dying from a bizarre array of symptoms. After a few years trying to make it in L.A., he’s got nothing to show for his efforts except for a viral YouTube video and an indifferent agent who does most of her business via text. Out of options and armed with a binder full of WebMD printouts, Spencer takes drastic action: he flies cross-country to his quaint hometown in upstate New York to consult with his five childhood doctors in a single day, planning to take the redeye back to L.A. that night without seeing any of his friends or family. Spencer’s unwitting accomplice is Jay, who happily agrees to chauffeur him to his appointments. Tearing through town, eluding his loved ones, Spencer is prodded, dilated, and biopsied into accepting that the cause of his symptoms and his reasons for coming home may be more complicated than he thought. 5 Doctors stars: Matt Porter (“New Timers,”“Hasta La Vista”), Max Azulay (“Argyle,” “First Time”), Emily Walton (“Submission,” “Deliverance”), Bobby Moynihan (“Saturday Night Live,” CBS’ “Me, Myself & I”), Eddie Pepitone (“Old School,” “The Muppets”), Peter Friedman (“Love & Other Drugs,” “Single White Female”), Adam Dannheisser (“Down to Earth,” “Nine Minutes”), Jodi Long (“The Hot Chick,” “Splash”), Jeremy Shamos (“The Big Sick,” “Magic in the Moonlight”), Jordan Baker (“Escape from L.A.,” “Another Earth”), and Annabelle Zasowski (“The Blacklist,”“Orange is the New Black”). The co-directors Matt Porter and Max Azulay join us to talk about their funny and touching debut feature. Day 9 of the Course: We learn that our peace is a discovery. It is not something we create or find. We discover our peace because it is always there, deep within us. Our peace lays beneath the chatter of our mind. And when we make a connection with our peace, we make a connection with the essence of who we are. Better decisions come to us naturally. We attract better people for our lives when we are in a state of peace versus a state of chaos. Learn more and find support by visiting our 20/20 Meditate for Peace Facebook group.
