It's no longer news that Hollywood studios are using artificial intelligence in editing, animation, visual effects and more. But last week “Dreams of Violets,” a new film about protests in Iran, became the first fully AI-generated live-action feature to screen at Tribeca and is a project that journalist Steven Zeitchik says the industry is watching nervously. We talk about the rapidly growing use of A.I. in filmmaking and the impacts that's having on audiences, industry professionals and an artform built on human storytelling. In this episode, Heather welcomes marriage and family therapist, group facilitator, and author Dene Logan to explore relationships through the lens of depth psychology—often called the "psychology of the soul." Drawing from her book Sovereign Love, Dene shares how our partnerships are not random, but rather specific "soul assignments" designed to mirror our unfinished business from childhood and point us toward our destiny. Heather and Dene dive deep into the everyday dynamics of love, discussing why couples so often get caught in the trap of competing for energy or falling into anxious-avoidant polarities. They discuss the profound impact of childhood triggers, the primal defenses that drive relationship conflicts, and how we can bring our "inner adult" into conversations to move from making demands to making requests. They also break down the cultural pressure we place on single partners to be our "everything" and offer a liberating perspective on how relationships can change form with reverence and love. Whether you are looking to heal codependent tendencies, understand your relationship patterns, or reframe the inevitable suffering and trauma of life as a sacred curriculum at "Earth University," this episode offers powerful tools for spiritual awareness, compassion, and ultimate personal liberation. We throw around the term "body positivity" often, but do we actually know what it feels like to live it? In this episode, we're focusing on what body image positivity really is at a soul level: not a perfect score of self-love every single day, but a gentle, honest journey toward letting your authenticity take the lead. Career, relationships, your soul's purpose — when those are thriving, your relationship with your body starts to shift. And if looking good is part of what lights you up? Absolutely no judgment here.Learn more about Juan Francisco at juanfrancisco.co, or follow him at @thisjuanfrancisco on social media.

What comes through is clear, layered, and deeply specific. The Oracle points Pardis back to the purple door of writing, the work that lights up her soul, while also speaking to money, timing, trust, motherhood, support, and what it means to stop chasing what is no longer the way. A stronghold is an untruth that has lodged itself in our brains and keeps out the knowledge of God. Shame can be a stronghold if we are believing something that is literally not the truth – about God, ourselves, or others. So really, shame and the gospel can't co-exist peacefully. You could even say that shame is anti-gospel. Jackie and Preston discuss how the gospel – the good news that we are forgiven – exposes lies and replaces them with the truth we find in God's word. We've got to meditate on the gospel, read the Bible more than we think about ourselves, and be aware of the way we are helping to remove (or unconsciously adding to) shame in other people's lives. On May 7th, my world changed when I lost my 6.5-pound Chihuahua, Ethel Mertz. She was my everything, and her absence left a massive void. In this deeply personal episode, I share my journey of crawling my way back into life after profound loss. Grief is a bald-headed monkey in a bad wig—it's ugly, it's chaotic, and it shows up uninvited—but healing comes when we choose to keep going anyway. The Art of the "Off" Switch In this episode of TNFro is Reading, Felicia Baxter moves beyond the hustle culture narrative to explore the necessity of radical rest. We're stepping away from the screens and into the "Soul of the Valley"—a curated, luxury retreat experience designed specifically for leaders who are tired of managing everyone else's needs but their own. Felicia breaks down the philosophy of finding a "softer altitude," the power of intentional unplugging, and the details of her upcoming all-inclusive immersion at The Glamping Collective. What You'll Learn Why Rest is a Leadership Skill: How constant "on" behavior leads to diminishing returns and why intentional downtime is non-negotiable for high performers. The "Soul of the Valley" Experience: A look inside a transformative weekend featuring private luxury dome accommodations, restorative sound baths, and guided mindfulness workshops. Curated Culinary Healing: A preview of the farm-to-table menu designed to nourish the soul, featuring local Chattanooga flavors. Hey, it's Amy Newmark with your Chicken Soup for the Soul and I'm excited to share more stories with you from our latest humor book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: I Can't Stop Laughing. You know, I read the trade press about what's going on in publishing, so I know what people are buying and reading these days. And what they're looking for is light reading, entertainment, sunshine in their days. So I feel like this new book, which is already doing so well in stores, is filling a real need. I think it's something like our sixth humor book in the last six years, and we have more coming next year too. We've got stories from people who make fun of themselves, tell stories on their family members and friends and colleagues, share their most embarrassing moments, and also share some great anecdotes about their cats and dogs. After all, pets can be so funny. So today I'm sharing a couple of stories about dogs in an episode called What Has the Dog Done Now? Learn more about your ad choices. We have a lot of feelings about our bodies. What we don't have (and what the church has largely failed to give us) is a theology of them.Lisa Whittle has been a Bible teacher, bestselling author, and pastor's daughter her whole life. And even she admits she never thought to open Scripture and ask: what does God actually say about this from Genesis to Revelation, all the way through? It took a season of hearing women's stories, getting genuinely offended by the emptiness of the body-positivity movement, and a direct invitation from her publisher to finally take that deep dive. What she found changed her.In this conversation, we explore why the church's silence on the body has been a teaching in itself, and not always a helpful one. We talk about Imago Dei and why knowing it intellectually isn't the same as living from it. We also unpack what "It is finished" means for the woman who still hates what she sees in the mirror, as well as for the woman who lives in chronic pain or disability and wonders if whole body theology is even available to her.Spoiler: it is. Whole body theology leaves no body out.We also go somewhere that doesn't get talked about enough… the particular weight that falls on women in ministry who step onto a platform and suddenly find themselves fighting a second invisible battle alongside the one they were actually called to fight. This is a conversation that is equal parts honest, theological, and deeply freeing. Lisa's Bible study Body and Soul is linked in the show notes and it's a MUST DO recommendation from me.Lisa's Website: https://www.lisawhittle.com/Lisa on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lisawhittle/Body & Soul Bible Study: https://tinyurl.com/mv6kbrjjLisa's Books and Bible Studies: https://www.lisawhittle.com/books
The Great Rosary Campaign is an ongoing prayer and penance campaign for the conversion and strengthening of both Catholic and non-Catholic leaders. For this "Hollywood Edition" of the Great Rosary Campaign, let us pray for the conversion of one of the world's greatest film composers: Hans Zimmer. Whether it be "Prince of Egypt," "Gladiator," or Batman, Zimmer has written some of the world's favorite music. In gratitude for his work, and out of love for his soul, let us pray that comes to the fullness of truth in the Catholic Church, and that his gifts may be fully put in the service of Christ. The SUGGESTED PENANCE this week is a Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament, the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist. In these dark times, we must fight evil with the most powerful weapons we have. The Rosary is foremost among them. Join the Great Rosary Campaign today at: www.GreatRosaryCampaign.com.Countless Saints and Popes have told us that the Rosary is incredibly powerful for three things in particular:Keeping the FaithMoral renovationConversions of non-CatholicsThe Great Rosary Campaign is also based on several biblical themes and principles.First, PRAY FOR OUR BRETHREN. “Pray for one another…” (Jas. 5:16). “So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of faith" (Gal. 6:10).Second, PRAY FOR OUR ENEMIES. “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven" (Matt. 5:43-44).Third, PRAY FOR ALL MEN, PARTICULARLY LEADERS AND THOSE IN AUTHORITY. “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, or kings and all who are in high positions…” (1 Tim. 2:1-2).Fourth, GOING INTO BATTLE WITH THE ARK. When the ancient Israelites came to Jericho, God didn't tell them to besiege the city. Instead, He told them to march around it with the Ark of the Covenant seven times, and on the seventh the walls would fall. We will now "march" in prayer for seven days with the New Ark of the Covenant, Our Lady, through the Rosary. We pray in hope that on the seventh day, a day especially devoted to Our Lady (Saturday), extraordinary graces of conversion will be given to those we are praying for.Fifth, EVANGELISM AND APOLOGETICS = LOVE + ARGUMENTS + PRAYER + PENANCE. Ultimately it is God who reveals Himself to a soul, and empowers them to say "yes" to Him by His grace. He chooses to use us, but He does not have to. We must remember that as we evangelize and defend the Faith, our arguments will be fruitless unless informed by love (charity), and reinforced by prayer and penance.Sixth, RETURNING GOOD FOR EVIL. “Do not return evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but on the contrary bless, for to this you have been called, that you may obtain a blessing" (1 Pet. 3:9).Sign up to take part in the Great Rosary Campaign today: www.GreatRosaryCampaign.com
Embodied Faith: on Relational Neuroscience, Spiritual Formation, and Faith
Geoff continues talking with regular guest David Clayton about how the Desert Fathers and Mothers understood sin as discorder (of all kinds) and how asceticism was a path toward freedom to love God and others. They discuss sin not merely as rule-breaking but as patterns that impair clear seeing, free choosing, and loving well. Asceticism is presented as training that frees the heart by reshaping habits, while emphasizing grace, mercy, and the hope to “begin again” each day. They particularly focus on the concept of "watchfulness" and the neuroscience of "paying attention." Have you ever felt like part of you is already living in the next chapter while another part is desperately trying to hold on to the old one?Right now, I see so many people feeling unsettled, disconnected, emotional, uncertain, and unsure of what comes next. The interesting thing is that nothing may be wrong. What if the discomfort you're feeling is because your soul has already moved on, but your human self is still trying to catch up?In this deeply personal episode, I explore the disconnect between the human self and the soul during times of rapid change and transformation. We dive into intuition, identity shifts, letting go of control, trusting the unknown, navigating the void between endings and beginnings, and why this current phase may be preparing you for something far greater than you can currently see.If life feels different right now, if you're questioning who you are, where you're going, or why things no longer feel the same, this conversation is for you.Your soul already knows. The question is whether your human self is ready to trust it.Key Themes✨ The disconnect between the human self and the soul✨ Releasing identities, expectations and control✨ Trusting intuition during uncertain times✨ Navigating the void between endings and beginnings✨ Self-trust as the bridge to your next chapterTakeaways

Today, we read Part 2: Fifth Letter and Sixth Letter. To get your copy of the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/catholicclassics or text "SOUL" to 33-777.
