Welcome Baco B-oo's Crew! This week among the changes, an X user reached out to the show and asked us to talk about their story. Andrew Dexter was born in 1969 in Bargoed, and for the next decade of his life, his family would be plagued with paranormal activity. Gladstone Villa built in the early 1900's and named after a former Prime Minister was the sight of many stories. Everything from apparitions, footsteps, babies crying, things moving and more were reported here. But the figure of a monk would stand out above all. The familt managed to stay for almost 10 years and left in 1978, but future occupants would also claim to see and hear things in this house. Strap in B-oo's Crew for a nightmarish story!Do you have a story you'd like read or played on the show? The Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of Wales launched its final report in January 2024. Its recommendations – which assessed options for ‘entrenched devolution', full federalism, and Welsh independence – have implications for the whole UK. How would such arrangements be viewed outside Wales? How would they function in practice? Would they affect constitutional debates in Scotland, England, and Northern Ireland? This webinar discusses these UK-wide implications with an expert panel including the Commission's Co-chair, Professor Laura McAllister.Speakers:Laura McAllister - Professor of Public Policy at Cardiff University's Wales Governance Centre and co-chair of the Independent Commission on the Constitutional Future of WalesNicola McEwen - Professor of Public Policy in the College of Social Sciences and Director of the Centre for Public Policy at the University of GlasgowCiaran Martin - Professor of Practice in the Management of Public Organisations at the Blavatnik School of Government and former Constitution Director in the Cabinet OfficeChair: Alan Renwick - Professor of Democratic Politics and Deputy Director of the Constitution Unit
Just outside of Cardiff, archaeologists have unearthed a cemetery they think is about 1,500 years old.就在卡迪夫城外,考古学家们发现了一座墓地,他们认为这座墓地大约有1500年的历史。The graves contain well-preserved skeletons, giving an insight into a medieval community. Worn teeth on some of the bodies, for example, suggest people crafting with leather or textiles, pulling these materials through their front teeth as they worked. There have also been some unusual discoveries – shards of glass from France, pottery from North Africa and tiny pegs, possibly for some sort of gaming board. It suggests people were coming to the cemetery to meet up – eating and drinking amidst the graves.考古学家们也收获了一些不寻常的发现——来自法国的玻璃碎片、来自北非的陶器和可能用于某种游戏板上的游戏钉。这表明当时人们可能是在墓地聚会吃喝。The team hopes further research and DNA analysis will reveal more about who these people were.

Ricardo is a HCPC Registered Dietitian-UK, SENr Registered Sport Dietitian- UK, Accredited Practicing Dietitian-Aus and Advanced Sports Dietitian-Aus, who came to Monash University in August 2013 from Coventry University-UK. Ricardo completed his PhD at the University of Wales- UK, in neuroendocrine and nutritional immunology on the influence of sleep deprivation, cold exposure, exercise stress and nutritional intervention on selected immune responses; which examined the impact of individual and combined stressors on immune function. Additionally, the role of nutrition intervention in the effect of exercise on immune function. Ricardo's recent work has focused on the impact of multi-stressor activity on immune, thermoregulatory, and gastrointestinal health; and additionally, the impact of ultra-marathon competition on nutrition and hydration status, and implication for health. Ricardo's research interests include the impact of exercise stress with and without other stressors on gut health, and role of nutrition under stress on gut health. Over the last few years he has established and led an international multi-centre research team investigating the impact of ultra-endurance competition on nutritional and hydration status, and on various physiological and immunological parameters; in which issue of gut health have been identified. Previously, as course director for Sports Dietetic training in the UK, he was an active consultant and supervisor in Sports Dietetics, providing and supervising sport and exercise nutritional support to a wide range of sports at recreational, amateur, and elite (Olympic athletes) level. Ricardo contacted me in regards to a research paper that was just published, in collaboration with the AIS, assessing the impact of the ketogenic low carb high fat diet on the gut health of elite endurance/ultra endurance athletes. Our results were a bit concerning, in that even a short term LCHF diet was sufficient to seriously disturb gut markers, including increased bacterial endotoxin translocation into the blood stream. Ricardo discusses this research. Links to papers: https://doi.org/10.1123/ijsnem.2023-0009 https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fphys.2021.773054/full

How can we find the strength to persevere through darkness? Is holding on through adversity worth the struggle? How can we find our purpose when times are hard and faith is low? Today's guest, entrepreneur, influencer and business coach Melissa Hughes, inspires us with her story of finding purpose and establishing a wildly successful career after losing her job, postpartum depression, struggling through the pandemic with two small children and living overseas. “I felt like my faith was really like being restored in the sense of knowing like, we go through hard things,” Melissa says. “It really kind of showed me that just because you go through a valley season doesn't mean that, you know, you're a bad person or you failed or anything like that. It just means that you're living a very profound life, you know? And being able to go through something hard and come out through it is a profound life.” In this episode, Melissa shares how her faith fueled her journey to success, the importance of hope, and how you can find your purpose even – and especially – in darkness. “The thing that carried me is the hope, you know, even when I was in the middle of questioning my faith and everything like that,” Melissa tells us. “There was still that hope that I know that somehow all of this is not gonna be wasted, but it's gonna be used for something always, always. [My story] encourages people that if you're really, truly in a dark, truly dark place, that hope is not lost.” In This Episode (01:52) Melissa's story (05:49) Establishing community and inspiring faith while living overseas with two small children (09:19) Finding TikTok and how Melissa started out of her darkness (15:22) “The best wakeup call of my life” (18:39) Melissa's advice for those struggling with faith (24:08) The most difficult challenge Melissa's overcome (28:51) Melissa's message of hope About Melissa Melissa Hughes is a Speaker, TikTok Influencer and Amazon best selling author. As for being a channel or an open door for God to flow, God has a wonderful way of meeting people right where they are at, and Justin does the same. It seems rare, and we can easily put Justin on a "special" pedestal (and he should be), but what makes it very special indeed is that he is not alone when it comes to people who have learned to abandon themselves to the love of Christ. In fact, the very thing that makes Justin special is that neither does he want to be the only one! Justin has partnered with people who honor love over "having the right doctrine", because he knows that LOVE itself IS the right doctrine. This is the way, the truth and the life which is hidden and uncovered, lost and found in Christ. The way, the truth and the life.... what kind of life? Eternal life. When we die? No, life eternal, now. To know God, to know Christ, to know love, and how much you are. It's truly amazing. It's not just good news, it's GREAT news! During this podcast session with Justin Paul Abraham, it was as if God was speaking directly to me through Justin... and you know what? He was! But he was also talking directly to you also!!!! And by reading the comments, I know this to be true also. When Justin would speak, it was as if Jesus was speaking. Whether talking to me as a friend or talking to me as a disciple, either way. When he spoke words that were life, I could feel them to the very core of my being. I could do nothing but cry. For me this wasn't anything new, Justin wasn't telling me anything I've never heard, it was resonance. It was confirmation. Its was synchronicity. The very language of our creator, which is not heard audibly with carnal ears of flesh, but heard and interpreted inwardly with the ears / resonance of the heart. For people who watched that session and saw me in tears, it seemed like something special.... and again, it was special to me. But, it's been happening for years and intensifying as my heart stays prostrate in a position to be taught, to be amazed, to be corrected. I'm not special, Justin is not special, heck, Jesus is not special.... unless you get "it". Get his love, as much as you can carry, give his love, as much as you can give. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:32 Justin Paul Abraham is the founder and co-director of COBH Ltd in the UK. Podcast Episode 76: Gruffydd Rees from Carmarthenshire, Wales UK It is always inspiring to meet beekeepers from all parts of the globe who are passionate about caring for honey bees - and producing pure, raw, local honey - and Gruffydd Rees is a perfect example. Hailing from South Wales, Gruffydd was originally gifted a hive by a local farmer, and from humble beginnings at the bottom of his parent's garden, this quickly multiplied into around a hundred hives dotted around the countryside of rural Carmarthenshire. In 2010, along with his wife Angharad, he founded Gwenyn Gruffydd, a small business bent on producing the highest quality, all natural, untreated, 100% raw, Welsh wildflower honey. Even his two young sons get involved! Gwenyn Gruffydd's honey is single origin, never blended, and undergoes minimal filtration; numerous awards attest to the quality of the product! After a small time away over spring its great to be back and I introduce you to Gruffydd from Wales to episode 76! In addition to premium wildflower honey, Gruffydd produces a range of other items including hampers, beeswax candles, peat-free compost and bee-friendly wildflower seeds. He also offers beekeeping training, mentoring and experience days, as well as a full range of beekeeping supplies. Gwenyn Gruffydd has instituted an ‘Adopt a Beehive' scheme to help arrest the decline of honey bees and is also active in promoting the benefits of sowing wildflower seeds to provide valuable food and shelter for pollinators. Even better, Gruffydd is up for a chat, and I am delighted that he was able to feature in our latest podcast. We touched on the proud history of his native Wales, and I was surprised to learn that Welsh is still the first language taught to children - English comes later. We also discussed beekeeping issues peculiar to the region; one unusual problem that Welsh beekeepers have to contend with is woodpeckers making holes in the side of hives! I had not heard of this before and it's pretty cool, although obviously bad for the bees. Some beekeepers apparently put bird wire around their hives to prevent this from happening. Occasionally, badgers (the closest European equivalent to wombats) can also become cause for concern, as they may knock hives over. https://gwenyngruffydd.co.uk/

An interview with three, very different people but with a similar work ethos and they all have something in common . . . Horses. This is my second interview with Pat, Frank and Kathy (I've interviewed them separately on a few occasions) This episode touches on the work that Pat did with Kathy's horse Teasel. Bare in mind that Pat is in Alabama USA and Kathy and her horse are in Wales UK and for this reason the results are even more interesting. But don't take my word for it, listen for yourself and make your own mind up. Either way , I usually find their interviews lively occasions and this episode is no exception. When you get them all together in the same place (even if it's only a virtual room) there is definitely going to be smiles, laughter and some thought provoking moments. So sit back, relax and I hope you enjoy this episode.Regards Ronnie
Hi, I'm Owen. I'm a 19 year old keen-hobbyist/part-time woodturner living in rural West Wales, UK. My woodturning adventure began in 2013 on a pole lathe, where curiosity got me turning bits of firewood into shavings, not making anything particular, just enjoying the feeling. I was taught to focus on form, keeping it simple which is something I understand more with each piece, be it bowls, hollow forms, boxes or any piece I turn. The majority of the material I use is sourced and processed by me. I strongly believe you learn just as much when selecting how to cut the raw material as you do actually turning, and it has given my style complete freedom on how it wants to develop over the years.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/WoodturnersWorldwide)
This week's episode is a farce - practically a pantomime! Jac abandons the attempt to explore the fortress undetected in favour of confronting the sahuagin and offering them redemption in St Cuthbert. Urtlod applies an ass-focused creative licence to his translation duties and forces the party into a close-quarters fight. Wanderheart and Lucis are disappointed by a series of empty coffers. We didn't say in the episode, so: thank you so much to Dan Lee and to Adam Sillman for our podcast cover artwork and theme tune respectively. You can find Dan on Instagram at @danleecomics and Adam runs a multimedia poetry magazine you can find at crunchpoetry.com. Just as a side note: we're still in lockdown here in Wales (UK) and recording from our respective homes, and we're really grateful that we've been able to continue to do this, and humbled by the time and effort our players put in and by you, Dear Listener, downloading and listening to our episodes. Dubbed as having a vocal register similar to Adele (GAFFA) and for having a ‘Powerful and killer voice' from Lzzy Hale (Halestorm) and Phil Campbell (Motörhead) it's no wonder Clare Cunningham is making waves across the world with her music. Steve Cropper (Blues Brothers) who features on Clare's latest single 'Heart of Mine' has said ' Clare has such a tremendous voice. She makes me want to play because she sings with passion and feeling.' Cunningham, who was raised in Collon, Co. Louth, the smallest village in Ireland, had a flare for music and singing from a very young age. At just 5 she exclaimed ‘I want to be a rock star when I grow up' and she did just that! By the time Cunningham turned 6 she started learning classical piano playing Mozart by the age of 8 and continued to do so for the following 10 years until she pickedup the guitar and self taught at the age of 16. This was the start of her budding song-writing career, she was highly praised by Irelands own singer songwriter ‘Juliet Turner' and spent the week at a song-writing camp hosted by Turner herself. She saw the natural talent Cunningham possessed for writing and told her this was most definitely the path she needed to embark on.Cunningham took Turner's advice and moved to Dublin after high school where she secured a national diploma in Popular Music performance and technology. With this at hand she then headed overseas and studied at the ‘London College of music' (Vocal Tech) where Cunningham had her first TV appearance on ‘Sky TV' singing one of her own penned songs. Graduating with a BA Hon's Degree in Music Performance and Technology, Cunningham moved to Cardiff, Wales UK where she started up her own business and become a professional singer. She created a 70's classic rock line up called ‘Smokin Aces', who were both a covers and originals band and were very popular all across the country. It was thanks to ‘Smokin Aces' and Cunningham's decision to put up some material onto YouTube which landed her the position of lead singer for the very successful Swedish all female rock quintet ‘Thundermother'. The five hard-core rock chicks had major success in the rock charts and landed a signing with ‘Warner Music' Sweden for their first album ‘Rock n Roll Disaster.' A signing with ‘Despotz Records' (Sweden) then followed the release of their second album ‘Road Fever' gaining support from artists such as ‘Mötorhead, Airbourne, D.A.D, Zakk Wylde, Halestorm, Michael Monroe, In Flames, Opeth, Danko Jones and many more, touring all over Europe and playing some of the biggest European festivals including ‘Sweden Rock Festival', ‘Bravalla', ‘Alcatraz', ‘Getaway Rock Festival' and many more. Cunningham decided to leave Thundermother in January 2017 and is now putting all her focus on her solo career.Cunningham released her self -titled debut solo EP in November 2016, with ‘Low Medium High Records' selling copies all over the world and is just a taste of what Cunningham can do. She isn't afraid to tell the truth, get raw and use the spirits of country, folk and rock when it serves her greater purpose.Clare now resides in the USA (Nashville predominantly) where she is taking it by storm having already played at 'The Nantucket Project' (2018) and at world renowned 'Sundance film Festival' (2019) She had a song placement in a Lionsgate movie (Bernie the Dolphin 2) in December 2019. January 2020, she signed with Symphonic Distribution, distributing all her material through them. Clare's latest project has been recorded at iconic RCA studios, on music Row in Nashville. The band on the recording consist of Audley Freed on Guitar (Sheryl Crowe, The Chicks, Black Crows, Joe Perry) Steve Mackey on bass (Garth Brooke's, Dolly Parton) and Jared Kneale on drums (Lauren Daigle, Kacey Musgraves) The first single off the project 'Heart Of Mine' was released July 3rd, 2020, featuring special guest Steve Cropper. To date, Clare's achievements include : ‘Aint your momma' (title of album and song Clare co-wrote with Rhonda Funk) is up for consideration for a GRAMMY nomination 2021 ‘Best Alternative Song' for ‘Carry Me' (World Songwriting Awards, spring 2020) 'Best Pop Song' for 'Heart Of Mine' (World Songwriting Awards, summer 2020) ‘Songwriter of the year' (silver) at the International Singer Songwriter Awards (ISSA)‘Folk Americana artist of the Year' (Josie awards 2020) ‘Folk Americana song of the year for ‘Angel of the Emerald Isle (Josie awards 2020)

This week is our first visit to Wales, and we're going to the second largest city, Swansea (which has a population of around 250,000) to find out about the lost bar Champers. I caught up with Craig Law, Host of the #InTheMix show on Gaydio, the world's biggest LGBT radio station to find out why the bar has a special place in his heart. Craig gives me advice on what to do when your friend pulls and you're left standing on your own like an idiot, shares the impact of Section 28 on his coming out, and ponders what happened to Swansea's once vibrant queer scene (with special mentions for other queer bars Talk of the Town, Hush, and The Kings Arms). I also found it interesting that eating within one hour of exercise keeps your immune system strong. Something to really think about with training and racing recovery. I have always believed food is excellent recovery and I generally always eat quite soon after training. After racing it’s a bit harder!!! Storytelling with unwavering honesty is what Cunningham is best at, and this little rock/pop chick has proven she is a multi versatile recording and live artist, singing across many genres. Cunningham, who was raised in Collon, the smallest village in Ireland, had a flare for music and singing from a very young age. At just 5 she exclaimed ‘I want to be a rock star when I grow up' and she did just that! By the time Cunningham turned 6 she started learning classical piano playing Mozart by the age of 8 and continued to do so for the following 10 years until she picked up the guitar and self taught at the age of 16. This was the start of her budding song-writing career. She was highly praised by Irelands own singer songwriter ‘Juliet Turner' and spent the week at a song-writing camp hosted by Turner herself. She saw the natural talent Cunningham possessed for writing and told her this was most definitely the path she needed to embark on. Cunningham took Turner's advice and moved to Dublin after high school where she secured a national diploma in Popular Music performance and technology. Cunningham decided to leave Thundermother in January 2017 and is now putting all her focus on her solo career. Cunningham released her self -titled debut solo EP in November 2016, with ‘Low Medium High Records' selling copies all over the world and is just a taste of what Cunningham can do. She isn't afraid to tell the truth, get raw and use the spirits of country, folk and rock when it serves her greater purpose. Clare now resides in the USA (Nashville mainly) where she is taking it by storm having already played at 'The Nantucket Project' (2018) and at world renowned 'Sundance film Festival' (2019) She had a song placement in a Lionsgate movie (Bernie the Dolphin 2) in December 2019. And shortly after signed with Symphonic Distribution in January to start releasing her newer material for 2020. Clare is currently recording her upcoming solo EP at iconic RCA studios, on music row in Nashville. The band on the recording consist of Audley Freed on Guitar (Sheryl Crowe, Dixie Chicks, Black Crowe's, Joe Perry) Steve Mackey on bass (Garth Brooke's, Dolly Parton) and Jared Kneele on drums (Lauren Daigle, Kacey Musgraves) Set to release very soon so stay tuned. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thegeorgiasongbirds/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thegeorgiasongbirds/support

Jenny Jones author of Healing with the Feminine Principle will join us from Wales, UK. Practicing spiritual healing is a wonderful way of getting to know how people think, both those receiving healing and those close to them. While working in this environment, Jenny has become aware of how our thoughts, words and actions affect our health - and everything else in the world. Her book is a distillation of what she has discovered throughout her healing work and in many other areas of life. It has been written in the hope that it will help others to understand their purpose here. Each of us has masculine and feminine qualities within us: the emotions related to these two qualities, or energies, affects everything around us. For centuries, the masculine energy has dominated the world but in the last few decades, this domination has become very strong. We are now feeling the results more tangibly than ever - in relationships of all kinds, in education, government, religion, economics, and just about every other aspect of life. Only a better balance between the masculine and feminine principles will resolve our current crises. For more information visit: http://www.spiritofoneness.co.uk/
