Today's episode is with the one and only Eric from Heart Attack Man! Eric discusses his love for T-shirt collecting, and his ability to be interactive with his audience. He credits a lot of his love to the way the band interacts with the fans, creating inside jokes and memes on instagram, tiktok and twitter. After highschool was when Eric began truly breaking out of his shell, and he became more comfortable performing on stage and fleshing out his online persona, however he's still TERRIFIED of the idea of karaoke. He began building confidence in 5th grade, however, when he started making jokes to his teacher and classroom about leaving his books out overnight. Eric discusses the collaboration of the band when songwriting, the different responsibilities of the members, and band dynamics. He talks new releases, and trying to create stories in pop punk and emo. One of the greatest moments in this show’s history is when we realized Adam Schlesinger wrote an absolute TON of songs we’ve enjoyed over the years. Adam was extremely prolific in his career as a song writer for multiple Grammy winning and nominated bands, in addition to TV and film, and he even claimed a Tony win for the writing of Cry Baby on Broadway. We swore to ourselves we would have Adam on the show some day, but on April 1st he passed away. We were both pretty devastated from the news and decided to take some time to remember the beloved moments we had with his music. He seemed to just understand people and the music they’d love, and a genius like him is a pretty rare thing to discover in their time.
