Ep. 127 - Enjoy this replay. Finding purpose, worth, identity, and true joy are core desires of every woman. Sadly though, many of us are finding ourselves in a place that is void of the very things we long for. This is because we're looking to ourselves and the world for answers about our purpose, worth, and identity as women rather than God's Word.We need to remind ourselves that God is our loving creator and has an amazing plan for our lives as females. Our deepest desires will only be realized when we fully surrender our lives to God and get back to His timeless design for our womanhood.Sex, Purity and the Longings of a Girl's Heart: Discover the Beauty and Freedom of God-Defined Sexuality NEW Personal Retreat Journal Girl Defined: God's Radical Design for Beauty, Femininity and Identity Not Part of the Plan: Trusting God with the Twists and Turns of Your Story Love Defined: Embracing God's Vision for Lasting Love and Satisfying Relationships Shine Bright Devotional 8-Week Girl Defined Mentorship Course Biblical Counseling Link Support the showFOLLOW US:GirlDefined.comInstagram YouTube Facebook Pinterest
Aber was steckt eigentlich dahinter?

In this episode, we chat to Rebecca Holdstock, senior matchmove and rotomation artist at Cinesite London about her VFX career, spiralling over a decade in some of London's well known and biggest studios, through to becoming a mother of two and the change that comes with being a working mother.I had the privilege of working with Rebecca at Cinesite on The Witcher season 2, and for the first time in my life, I was working with a mother, who was signing on in the middle of the day, on a customised working hours. This blew my mind, and triggered my interest in the topic to which we sat down to discus. Becoming a working mother, or choosing to become a working mother in any industry is often times a big challenge and decision that affects women in all sorts of life and industries. Whilst Rebecca's story focuses on the VFX industry, it very much is relatable to all women and working mothers in every industry, and will be for every generation to come.It therefore is a rightful and important subject to be discussing and brining it to light, to create awareness, and hopefully encourage and or prepare other women in the VFX and wider working industries.Chapters00:00:00 Ident 00:00:05 Introductions 00:01:40 A bit about Rebecca 00:02:31 Journey into the VFX industry 00:09:32 Getting foot in the door of the VFX industry 00:13:19 Settling in the Matchmove department 00:23:49 Motherhood and being an artist in the VFX industry 00:31:59 Managing kids and shots during early days of covid 00:51:46 Planing to start a family, vs having kids unexpectedly 00:54:10 What can be improved for women working in the VFX industry 01:03:15 Advice to any artists looking to start a family 01:05:59 What should women look out for, when applying to join a VFX studio 01:10:51 Conclusion As always, if you liked this episode, please like, comment, subscribe and share!Listen to all episodes on our websitehttps://www.thevfxartistspodcast.com/#vfxindustry #workingmom #vfxartist

None of us enjoy being labeled by others. Their labels can be constricting, limiting who we can become in their eyes. But, as much as we hate being labeled, we often do it to others, too. In this message, Pastor Scott Savage uses a small label to help us explore the labels we've been living within. He also walks us through the final section of Ruth, concluding our series Didn't See It Coming. He shows us how the labels we've received and embraced are overcome by God's grace, inviting us to take our place in God's great story of redemption.

On this episode of the Lessons from the Cockpit show... Many aviators have flown into bad situations or worse killed because they didn't listen to the voice in their heads. The military has a term for this voice: GUT CHECK. Malcomb Gladwell has written an entire book about this gut check phenomenon. Recently I had a discussion with a close friend and both of our professions, he an EMT in Houston and myself a military pilot, realized we shared similar attributes in working problems. One attribute of gut checks causes our brains to slow down during a crisis yet have total situational awareness of what's happening around us, the problem, and its solution. This attribute often leads to simple solutions to very complex problems never tried before but they work! As aviators, we really do use our five senses while flying. Our five senses feed problem-solving capacity and intuition. On a flight out of Hawaii, I literally "masked" one of my five senses which would have told me what was really wrong with the plane. Strap in for another episode of Lessons from the Cockpit!

Shot of Truth Podcast traveled to Washington DC for the Supreme Court hearing on DACA. We interviewed people from Kansas, San Diego, Laredo, New York, San Francisco and more. Our community is so fucking powerful--it's wild. Picture this: It was 25 degrees outside, the street in front of the Supreme Court was closed down and of course, there were tons of media. The crowds were flooded with people repping the campaign slogan, “Home is Here.” If you use social media YOU KNOW this campaign slogan. This episode is focused on highlighting the voices that are in the crowd!! The voices that traveled over mountains and rivers to be there for their communities. I also talk shit about, “Home is Here,” while acknowledging the work and thought process that went behind it--we are critical of the things we love most! Always be critical of our movement, of those leading it, of ourselves. We are powerful and this episode celebrates that. We also briefly touch on the report USCIS released, “DACA requestors with an IDENT response.” Funny...how this came out right after the hearing. Enjoy, Home is Here?
Beware of the Leopard: the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy podcast
Mark and Jon Bounds are joined by Danny Smith to continue pawing through the H section of the Hitchhiker's Guide. Human beings One of the things Ford Prefect had always found hardest to understand about human beings was their habit of continually stating and repeating the obvious, as in “It's a nice day”, or “You're very tall”, or “Oh dear you seem to have fallen down a thirty-foot well, are you alright?” Hunt the Wocket A game played on one of the worlds the Guide settles on, in Mostly Harmless. h2g2.com actually has a ruleset for a game devised by a Canadian teenager in the year 2000. The players are divided into red and green teams. Each team takes twenty wickets of the same colour as their team and pounds them into the field more or less randomly. They must make sure that the wickets of both colours are mixed up and not too close together. When this is done, each team goes to the opposite side of the field. Someone places the ball in the centre and so on. Hurling Frootmig The fouinder of the Guide, establishing its fundamental principles of honesty and idealism, and went bust. There followed many years of penury and heart-searching during which he consulted friends, sat in darkened rooms in illegal states of mind, thought about this and that, fooled about with weights, and then, after a chance encounter with the Holy Lunching Friars of Voondon (who claimed that just as lunch was at the centre of a man's temporal day, and man's temporal day could be seen as an analogy for his spiritual life, so Lunch should (a) be seen as the centre of a man's spiritual life, and (b) be held in jolly nice restaurants), he refounded the Guide, laid down its fundamental principles of honesty and idealism and where you could stuff them both, and led the Guide on to its first major commercial success. Hyde Park This park gets a couple of mentions in Adams' work, as a place in which Trillian does a rather startling manoeuvre with a motorbike, and where Arthur and Fenchurch have a nice picnic. Arthur - and thus, I imagine - Adams describes Hyde Park as “stunning”. Ident-i-Eeze This encodes every single piece of information about you, your body and your life into one all-purpose machine-readable card that you could carry around in your wallet, and therefore represented technology's greatest triumph to date over both itself and plain common sense. It was invented because of the many ways in which people have to prove their identity. Jon, just how prescient do you think Adams was?
