On this episode of the QNow comedian Jonathan made returns to hang out and talk about politics.  First up it seems that Donald Trump is grabbing more people from Capitol Hill than Capitol Hill actually has. A group of congressional individuals showed up at Trump's New York trial to support him. All while there is tons of American Business that needs to be handled in Washington DC and these people are gallivanting off to other cities. The gentleman discuss. Plus Biden accepts the terms to 2 debates with Trump and this is going to be a shxt show..  Next up it's the great 2024 video game draft. The guys go around in a three round draft picking the best video game characters for their team. All teams can be judged at all times and this quickly gets out of hand. But who is really the person pushing the issue here... You listen and you decide. Who had the better team? Who's got the strongest character? Did one of your favorites make the list? All of this and much more....  Finally it seems that gen Z has a problem with Gen X wearing ankle socks. And not just Gen X but anybody under the age of 30. The guys discussing things that are clear red flags that you are getting older. They also discuss a list of red flags that women search up on Google before dates... This goes a whole bunch of directions nobody expected!

The quadratic complexity and weak length extrapolation of Transformers limits their ability to scale to long sequences, and while sub-quadratic solutions like linear attention and state space models exist, they empirically underperform Transformers in pretraining efficiency and downstream task accuracy. We introduce Megalodon, a neural architecture for efficient sequence modeling with unlimited context length. Megalodon inherits the architecture of Mega (exponential moving average with gated attention), and further introduces multiple technical components to improve its capability and stability, including complex exponential moving average (CEMA), timestep normalization layer, normalized attention mechanism and pre-norm with two-hop residual configuration. In a controlled head-to-head comparison with Llama2, Megalodon achieves better efficiency than Transformer in the scale of 7 billion parameters and 2 trillion training tokens. Megalodon reaches a training loss of 1.70, landing mid-way between Llama2-7B (1.75) and 13B (1.67). We are hot and heavy into the election cycle for 2024. Primaries have happened, people complaining on social media too...all the necessities to let you know everyone is chomping at the bit to be recognized and voted into positions! Well this is no different in Missouri either!  First up Joanthan May returns to discuss peeing on people for no reason and then tells an amazing story of a dream he had! This leads to a discussion about Donald trump and his inabilities to pay his legal debts to the people he has wronged. This means Trump is not even HALF a Billionaire. He doesn't possess the liquid money to pay off the debts he has accrued and his own team is the one telling the judges.  Next the gents welcome Carolie Owens and Steven Blair who are running for Francis Howell School Board. Carolie is a veteran educator of over 30+ years who has worked for multiple school districts and has put in tenure to know the lay of the land. Steven is a pastor that is also an educator and they are trying to pull this conservative agenda out of the hands of the current board memebers, and right the ship. Carolie and Steven get detailed in their plight and why you need to vote for people with a grounded approach.  Finally, a surprise Tournament of Pop Culture. There are a ton of TV theme songs and we could easily (and might) do another 16 songs to battle it out. But this time around we have a random pull of TV theme songs and we are going to see which one reigns supreme by the end of the show!

On this episode of the The QNow,  Jonathan May shows back up and we decide to break down everything going on in the world around us.  First of Donald Trump has been a very bad boy and has now had punishments handed down to him financially. Unfortunately Trump feels that he doesn't have to pay those and it said that he's only going to pay $100 million of the 400 plus million that he deserves to pay. The gentleman talk about Donald Trump and his current indictments.  Next up there's a crazy story coming out of Kansas City about a group of friends who had a football playoff party, then one of them decided to go to bed and the other three ended up dead in the freezing cold in their backyard. What killed the three men is still a question that everybody is discussing. Also how do you not notice your friends dead in your backyard for a couple of days? Mark, Jason and Jonathan break this down and discuss.  Finally we have another tournament of pop culture after we took a break. This week's tournament is the best board games ever! Did your favorite board game make the list? Did the one that you thought was going to move forward move  forward as you expected? All this and much more on the newest episode.

But what does this mean for America and all of us who are watching from the sides. This man has criminal issues and indictments that should hold him off of the ballot but he still continues to campaign and get support. We discussed the Iowa caucus and the future of America between the guys.  Next up is a tournament of Pop Culture that we didn't expect to have but we have it now. This tournament is based off of cop movies. Movies like Training Day and Beverly Hills Cop. We take 16 of them and break it down to figure out which movie was the best cop/police movie. Did your favorite movie make the list because Mark definitely did not make this list... so we don't know. But tune in and join the guys as we decide who is the most entertaining and best cop movie.  Finally there are things that are red flags and people's houses that most of us understand and know. We are moving towards  Xmas and with that, there is always room to introduce a new fan of the world of horror...so we are doing that today. James Dean is fresh off directing his newest film called XXX-mas! Starring one of our own and friend of the show Jonathan May! James is no spring chicken and has been working in and on movies for a while now. A huge horror buff, James joins to talk with Mark Bland and Jason Kull about the production, his costs and address things that Mark brings up regarding other movies in the same vein and how he approached that as he made this movie.  But before that, Mark and Jason have to talk some politics and this week was great with Hunter Biden stating that he would like to do any depositions or interviews regarding his "crimes" in a public forum. The public aspect made the republicans blush fast and backpedal because everyone can watch and see the things they want to be able to make up and put out there. Instead they now have a person wanting to go public and out them for the bad people they are...and it seems this is becoming the norm. People want to out bad people, especially republicans and their supporters.  Finally, it is Week three of the TOPC: Biggest TV/Movie Jerks of ALL TIME! We have some heavyweights moving into this weeks bracket, including a recent final four player named George Costanza. What's interesting is that even with a change of topic and focus, the idea of being the lovable jerk is coming through in this competition too. It's what helped get us the Best TV character of All time...and now with some movie charcters in the mix, it's helping us find the people that could move thru. Did Costanza make it through...take a listen and find out!

But that is not all... Markwayne Mullen and Kevin McCarthy finally said the quiet part out loud this week when they went full on mental illness and started trying to physically assault other memebers of congress and even guests to Capitol Hill. First up Markwayne of Oklahoma decided to try and get in the face of a Teamster that was a guest on capitol hill. Evidently the two men had words on SOCIAL MEDIA and the republican just couldn't let Social Media go...so he tried starting a fight in the Senate chamber before being punked by Bernie Sanders and told to act like an adult.  In another section of the Capitol, Kevin McCarthy the whiny former Speaker of the house elbaowed and tried to physically attack another republican because he is mad everyone turned on them. Mark and the guys discuss all of this craziness happening! Then, for his triumphant return, Mark put together a special Tournament of Pop culture that might become a larger fight. Mark chose 16 people to put up against each other for the title of Biggest/Best Jerk in a movie or TV show. An amazing topic that has a ton of opportunities and people that can be thrown into the mix coming up. Who do you think should be in future tournaments...did your favorite movie/TV jerk make this tournament right here? And we definitely have strong competition in this breakdown. But this is discussed live on the show and worth your time to check out.  Finally, it's been a while but Fxck My Life has been on the internet for many years. We used to bring it up on the show all the time, but things change and time moves one. With that said, the return of FML comes to the Qnow and boy are their some doozy's to deal with on this Episode!

First up Mark and Jonathan May welcome Tuffy Brandon to the show to discuss the current stories of the day.  First up, the guys breakdown some common misconceptions about race and culture in 2021. Mark and Tuffy discuss prejudice and racism, helping map it out better for people out there that might not understand the focus and reasoning for why they boxed and framed the way they are in society.  This leads to the Trump supporters and conservatives newest favorite thing to do....taking Ivermectin, aka Horse Dewormer. Joe Rogan the well known podcaster and UFC host recently went online to explain that he had Covid 19 and was taking ivermectin to kill it off. Of course, the information and proof that it works is always up in the air, because anything that works, gets rerouted into a money making medicine that the FDA approves for the corporations. This is how Mark and the guys know that this Ivermectin is not working at all.  Mark knows all this talk always leads down one road in non-election years...taking the stories and things happening and trying to make the president look like a bad guy. It was much less difficult with Trump since he shot himself in the foot more than anyone could, but with Biden they are throwing everything at him hoping something will sick similar to Obama. Mark realizes that conservatives hate people that are squeaky clean because it means only they (conservatives) are thinkers of bad decisions and ideas.  Finally as with all new guests, Tuffy plays on the Hot Seat to a bevy of questions that he didn't see coming. The soldiers in the field were already living and working in Afghanistan, so this is nothing new for them. It's new to people in the USA on social media. Mark forgets his friends name but that brings up the fact that many people are crazy with their hatred of the vaccine. Southwest Owes Me for sure. Mark comes home fresh from one of the bigger vacations him and the family has been on for the first time since before Covid. Mark took the kids to Disney World but the Trip did not get off on the right note and Mark is here to spill all the tea on that situation and put Southwest Airlines in their place.  On top of that, Jonathan May joins the show to discuss the Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul boxing match, and the upcoming Woodley vs. Jake Paul fight. Did it live up to the hype that they portrayed in the media...the guys talk about that.  Coming out of Covid, a ton of businesses are finding it tough to staff and fill voids left by the year and half long Covid downturn. Is this the CEO's faults and business owners...OR....are people being more lazy now and is it because of government payouts? Should companies waste there time on trying to lure in new people or spend the time to keep the loyal trained employees happy. The guys discuss this and every aspect.

This week on the show Jonathan May brings his comedic style to the airwaves to discuss more life with Mark Bland.  First up the gentlemen discuss their backgrounds in Social Media and Mark reconnecting with a gentleman named Mike Wilkerson and some of their discussions regarding politics and some of the past stuff from their lives. This leads to a discussion about how Trump is now pouting because he doesn't have a outlet to bent his dislike and is talking about starting his own social media network.  Next up the gents discuss Marjorie Taylor Greene and he recent situation regarding the Capitol Riots and her stances outside of the political spectrum. Mrs. Greene has been seen going around for years antagonizing and attacking people on public streets smearing their names and defaming them. Why? Because she feel she was lead down the wrong path by the people in charge of her party. Nope she's just a racist rural Gerogia lady and Atlanta is too black for her to be happy. So why not be a racist and an ass. Finally...Mark and Jonathan dig into the past and Jonathan gets thrown on the hot seat for the first time in a long time. He answers the questions but this leads to a discussion about Mark and some Bitcoin he received in 2009. He then sold them off for a little bit of money. Jonathan loses it and boom...the show has another golden moment!

Producer Bobby and Jonathan May join to discuss the Holiday season, or in this case the coming future and the end of 2020. This isn't the year end show, but we are there. Close enough. First up Bobby brings some beef to the table to discuss with Mark. It seems because of Bobby's past relationship with the show, he's been cold shouldered by other media. Mark has claimed for years on the show that people he's never worked with use their "make believe timeline and thoughts" as a way to lie to others. Here is a situation where people, who have no relationship with Mark (and never did) use Mark as a scapegoat for things. It's intellectually dishonest. And makes those people flat out liars. But this ends on a special message from Bobby that the Q and Mark approve! Next it seems the VACCINES COMETH! As the year ends and Xmas is upon us, the world is getting the new Covid vaccines. Both Pfizer and Moderna have gotten FDA approval to roll them out and people are mixed on using them. Mark and the boys break down what a vaccine really is and what it's doing in layman's terms (the guys are not doctors) to your body when it gets it. Maybe you knew and maybe you didn't. But check this out and learn a little something new. Finally, Defunding the police has been discussed a few times on the show, but Bobby and Jonathan break it down and get to the nitty gritty of how it's supposed to work and how people should be viewing these things. Interesting grey area that people discuss some aspects of but not the aspects we discuss on the Q.  After all this, the guys answer a pertinent Christmas question from a listener...Should it be okay to tell family and friends you are not getting them anything because you just don't have the money right now? With 2020 being rough and money being tight, is this okay to do. Find out what the answer is on this new episode of the Q!

Jonathan May joins us on this show to discuss the Jacob Blake and Kyle Rittenhouse situations. Jacob Blake was shot in the back by Kenosha police after they were called to a disturbance that Blake was involved with in Kenosha Wisconsin.  Jonathan and Mark discuss the situation and surrounding reasons.  This leads to the discussion about Kyle Rittenhouse. A 17 yr old boy that drove with an AR-15 to Kenosha where people are protesting the Blake shooting. When he arrives he links up with people he knew from a FACEBOOK group and they were there to Protect the people and businesses. It was his "job" he told someone before the shooting started.  Rittenhouse then gets into his own melee with people where he shoots and kills 2 people and wounds another one badly.  Conservatives have been GLEEFUL with Rittenhouse and have claimed Self Defense. He was arrested for Intentional Homicide which is not "self defense".  Mark and Jonathan discuss all of this in glorious detail on this new episode of The Q! Mark gets into online discussions and the Floyd killing was being presented as a lynching to Mark. Ever lost your marbles as a human being? Well the president of the USA has just done that.  Jonathan May and Gary Weed, join Mark Bland to discuss the 36 hour period where Trump went looney and will probably define the majority of his presidency.  First up, Donald Trump took the world this past week and let everyone know that he is indeed "The Chosen One" as he even looked up at heaven to drive the point home. But this was just one of the many things that happened in this 36 hour period. Trump also retweeted that he was the "King of the Jews" which a radio host called him on their show. Also Trump decided it was a good idea to pull out of the new gun restrictions and heightened background checks bill he was on top of...and he also decided to let all Jewish people know that any who vote liberal are disloyal to their god and bad people in general. So yeah, DONALD TRUMP LOST HIS MARBLES. On top of that, MTV has decided that the success of Catfish determines that a new show in the same vein needs to happen. Do you know what "ghosting" is? Well the guys break it down and discuss their opinions that MTV is doing a show bringing back people who've been ghosted. 400 episodes are a lot of episodes when you realize many are at minimum 1 hour long and most are 3 hours in total.  That's a lot of blood, sweat and tears that went into all of those hours of entertainment.  But alas, we are here and number 400 is what we are on!  Agitate the Airwaves host Travis Corley joins Mark Bland, Jason Kull, Jonathan May and Producer Bobby on this special episode of the Q. Travis has been hosting a local music podcast for a few years now and he is starting to bridge off into other avenues of entertainment like booking shows. Travis joins Mark and the crew on this episode to discuss his show, it's influence and what he's got coming up in the near future for the people of STL.  Trump has done it again and saying really weird off the wall type stuff. He explained about not being able to say Orange and he claims his father was born in Germany and not Brooklyn, NY. So just another week in Trump's weird presidency that does nothing.  Mark brings up some past moments on the show that he fondly remembers along with adding a new one to the list from more recent episodes. Somewhere in the middle of this, Jonathan MAy inserts he has a big package and the show never looks back. Mark does everything to keep the train on the tracks, but hilarity ensues.  All this and much more on this 400th Special Episode of the Q!  Worth every second to listen to.

There are so many ways to say so many things. Jonathan May joins Mark on this amazing journey we call the Q. First up Mark decides that he needs to explain what being a liberal raised in the Midwest is truly like. Most people think being liberal is a national stance and all Liberals tend to fall from the same tree. But this is not true. Liberals in the Midwest are way more centrist than east/west coast liberals because the Midwest is so conservative, the liberals are raised with a conservative understanding and edge given to them from their parents. Mark and Jonathan discuss. This leads to question about Police and Jonathan's person views as an ex military police officer. Jonathan has seen both sides of the coin and the question is "Where is your current stance on police." The guys discuss. Then we get into the goods. Jonathan and Mark both have been asking questions of black and white culture on and offline. The response has been good and Mark has some questions for Jonathan and vice versa. Mark asks a question about the style of hair that people in black culture have. This leads to a convo about words you can and can't say to people in general. Also the pronunciation of words can alter the vibe of the word. The guys discuss these words too. Finally a letter from a listener that thinks Prisoners are not being used to their potential like they should be. Mark and Jonathan discuss if the listeners stance is the proper stance or not to have.  All this and much much more on this episode of the Q.

Who is the Grand Trivia Master of the Q?  Well we set to find that out on this episode of the Q. Gary Weed, Producer Bobby and Jonathan May join to discuss a couple of topics before we get down to the brass tacks. First up...R. Kelly and Michael Jackson have been hit heavily lately in the media.  Kelly is fighting for his freedom after being accused of once again talking to and sexually abusing underage females. This is the same thing he was accused of a few years ago with the "pee on her" video tape that surfaced. The new accusations basically make Kelly out to be a forceful and manipulative guy to a host of women. On the heels of that, Michael is back in the news because the kids that didn't come forward originally in the 90's have decided to come forward now on a new documentary that has radio stations pulling Jackson's music.  This leads to an interesting discussion of NDA (non disclosure agreement) and hush money...and whether the death of one party in the agreement should or should not change the scope of the agreement. Should all rules be forgiven once one party dies in the relationship? Can the person come out after the fact, but also after spending the money they took to be quiet originally? Finally, after a challenge from Mark to Gary regarding Trivia...Jonathan decided to jump in and we have or first Grand Trivia Master contest. Producer Bobby put together 25 questions and tie breakers (if needed) to decide this first ever champ. All the questions are general in nature. Multiple categories and varied levels of difficulty...Can you keep up with the Q crew? Are you truly a Grand Trivia Master...follow along and find out on this episode of the Q.

So the 2019 State of the Union address came and went. When it was all over, the only thing people remembered was the F-U Clap that Nancy Pelosi directed towards Donald Trump. With that, Jonathan May and Jason Kull join Mark Bland on this episode of the Q to discuss the State of the Union Address. What everyone took from it, but more importantly, what they thought the current State of the Union looks like from their eyes. This turns into discussion about people in the USA being their own worst enemies. Making choices and decisions to shoot themselves in the foot constantly. Mark then explains he will shoot himself in the foot and the reaction from Jonathan is not to be missed. Then the show takes a weird turn. Jason claims that his hometown of Keokuk, Iowa has more to do in it than St. Louis has in it. Of course, Jon and Mark disagree heavily. So it begins...the great city showdown of 2019. This leads to Mark posing the question of how Missouri would react if tomorrow the USA became 50 individual countries. How would Missouri fair in that situation.  From there things take a turn for the musical as the guys start talking about music artists in the Superbowl and eventually the talk turns to diva's. Who are the great diva's, what makes them diva's....and is there a something that they have to do consistently keeps them in the DIVA spotlight? Also on the discussion because of the Superbowl is Colin Kaepernick. Jonathan and Mark spark up debate on why Colin still is not playing in the NFL. Finally the talk becomes about people and some of their weird and awkward opinions on Life. So Mark grabs a few opinions and wants to gage the mental standing of Jason and Jonathan. The government shutdown is over and Life is returning to normal...Right? Well maybe not so fast. After shutting down the government and PROUDLY ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY, Trump got NOTHING for all the heartache he put thousands and thousands of voters thru. 800,000 went without pay for weeks and weeks. Some started to get trouble from the landlords and others they owe money to.  Also, when he opened it back up, it was only for three weeks. Jonathan May and Producer Bobby join on the show to discuss this disaster created by Trump and blamed on everyone but Trump (even though he accepted responsibility). Also discussion of Howard Schultz running for president and Roger Stone got arrested in regards to Russian Collusion and connections to Trump. So it's been a hell of a 7 days for Donald Trump.  But the fun don't stop there...Mark decides that he feels the Star Wars Universe needs to go away. Not a popular idea for many, but Mark explains why the Star Wars universe has gone on too long...which leads to a discussion about the Marvel Universe and whether a similar fate should eventually befall it too! Mark starts out by asking Jonathan to explain the definition of white privilege so that he can set a baseline to see how things fall in line with the definition. But alas, Jonathan doesn't have a definition he has the common argument of "It just is that way and because you are the one doing it, you don't realize what it looks like".   At this point Mark starts to discuss how there are equally as egregious things that happen to other cultures including white people. Mark then decides to hone down on privilege in general. Can a white person who sees a rich person (no matter their race or religion) hold that wealth against them and use it as an argument to complain about the privilege of others. This doesn't go over well with Jonathan....find out why and see the fall out. Finally the guys do talk about our friend Don Trump and his need to keep the government shut down while stomping his feet like a child. The nationlism movement is ripe with men and women that are heavily prejudice and antagonistic in their handling of day to day decisions.  So Mark grabbed Producer Bobby and Jonathan May to sit down and discuss these things. But Producer Bobby doesnt' see the issue with a person running around calling themselves a nationalist. Mark and Jon have a one on one with Bobby trying to decipher between nationalism and patriotism....see where this convo goes. Well there are two sides to every story and Jonathan May and Gary Weed join to discuss. Mark starts off discussing a recent issue he had where people went out of their way to make him look bad by taking things out of context. Mark and the guys discuss the manner at which these things happened and why they fall into the "story" world more than anything legitimate in real life.  Next up Gary discusses a post he recently made to facebook regarding people using EBT cards (welfare money) to buy things required when they also had cash money in their pocket and used it to buy other non essential items. People attacked Gary for being insensitive and to look deeper. Where Gary thinks that his point is well versed and deserves to be taken on it's merits in comparison to the country and others moral/ideological stances. Jonathan and Mark sit back to decipher and get to the bottom of Gary's stance and whether everyone chiding him is right or if in fact Gary makes the "nail in the coffin" argument that should dictate peoples thoughts. Finally Mark discusses kids in 2018 and how they don't have any patience anymore. How this is indicative of TV/Movie industry today when all they do is make remakes of everything between 1985-2015. Also how this perpetual loop will eventually be lost on life and they might maintain this for decades and decades past our current times.

Cut to this past Sunday...Donald Trump goes on Twitter and tells everyone that the meeting did happen with Russia and his son was there, AND it was a meeting to get info on Hillary during the election. Well meeting with people to get dirt on the opponent is not illegal.  But when you tell us CNN lies for 2 years and then you admit you actually lied and CNN was right...now we know you're purposely swaying the information to your advantage.
